As someone who has purchased every THQ wrestling game for years, I had been eagerly anticipating this latest release. Unfortunately, after playing the game I was left with a feeling of disgust instead.

The game is full of bugs. In the 24/7 Mode which represents the game's season mode, more often than not the choices you make will be ignored. For example, at one point I was asked if I wished to relinquish the WWE title. I refused. However, the game reacted as if I had chosen the opposite and the story progressed as if I had indeed given up the belt. This glitch happened again and again, at numerous points in the game. I can't believe something like this made it past the play-testers.

Other bugs include the lack of pyro on customised entrances for created wrestlers. You can choose to have pyro as part of your entrance when you design it, but when you come out to wrestle it will simply fail to activate. Once again, I have no idea how something like this managed to make it into the game.

Even setting aside the bugs, 24/7 Mode is pretty lousy. The cut-scenes which open shows are often nonsensical in relation to what is meant to be happening in the story. For example, your character might merrily chat with a wrestler he is meant to be in a bitter feud with. At first glance the ability to plan out your wrestler's entire week rather than just playing the matches might seem like a fun concept. However, it quickly becomes tiresome (though players who liked the general manager mode in the previous games might like it better than I did).

The game is plagued with long loading times, which often enhances the frustration of 24/7 Mode. Even selecting one of the non-playable options such as attending an autograph signing (something which involves no animation of any kind a picture just appears on the screen, along with a message telling you how much popularity rating you gained) forces you to endure more loading time.

In general the new control system was acceptable. However, there does not appear to be any manual control to change your wrestler's focus when in a match against multiple opponents. In theory it happens automatically instead. However, in practical terms the automatic focussing is terrible, meaning that you often stay focussed on one wrestler when intending to attack another. This can lead to a lot of headaches, when you turn from a downed opponent to punch a standing one, but end up performing an elbow drop instead.

For some reason each wrestler now has fewer moves than in previous games in the series. I don't know why they would reduce your number of moves, but they did. Now if you initiate a strong grapple you have the option of 8 regular moves and 2 control moves, whereas in the last game you had 16 regular moves, and I believe 4 control moves. I thought next generation technology meant they could include more material in games, not less...

Flaws from the last game are still present. For example, in a 'last man standing' match the referee will only start his count if the downed wrestler will fail to get up unlike in 'Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain', where the ref would count anyway, and the wrestler might be able to get up in time to beat the count. This may seem like a small point, but to me it completely ruins the drama of the match if the ref only counts when you're going to win. Imagine if they did that for pinfalls. No more two counts just a win or no count at all. Surely near falls (or counts in the case of a 'last man standing' match) are an important part of a pro-wrestling match?

Some match types which were present earlier in the series (eg. the slobberknocker, and 3 vs. 3 tables and 'hell in a cell' matches) are no longer available. Once again, I don't see the logic in removing options when improving technology should instead be providing the space for more options. If you try playing as a diva the situation is even worse. Whereas back in 'Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth' they could play any kind of match, now they are severely limited in what they can do.

The commentary is on the whole extremely weak. Most of the time JBL sounds like he was idly reading from the sheet when they recorded it, without even really paying attention to what he was saying. Much of the dialogue is taken directly from the last game, and it quickly becomes repetitive. They could have at least put in more play-by-play (eg. "DDT!", "Brutal powerslam!") to pad it out and make it seem a little less barren.

There's no option to import music on the PS3 version, like there is on the Xbox 360 version. I don't see why this should be the case. If anything it should be the other way around, since the PS3 has a hard disk as standard whereas the Xbox does not. So, if like me you were hoping to use 'King of Kings' as your entrance theme, or some other track which isn't in the game, you will be disappointed.

These are the problems which most immediately sprang to mind, though I'm sure there are many others which I have neglected to mention. THQ appear to have become lazy with this series. They know that fans will buy each year's title out of hope and habit, so they don't seem inclined to put much effort into game design anymore.

After eagerly anticipating the release of the first PS3 WWE title, and after owning the series for the past 5 years, the day finally came... and boy, was I disappointed.

The BAD: Loading, loading and more loading...Every action in the game requires load times. This gets very frustrating. Reduced movesetwith the redesigned controls, although quite a bit easier to use, about 50% of the move choices are gone. In prior games, you had approx 16 strong grapple holds, in 08, a mere 8. Targeting is a big issue as well. A new free-move run style is fun, but quite often leads you standing next to your opponant swigning in the air. There is no way to adjust this. there's a few other minor deletions from previous yearsas pointless as it was, I liked customizing the locker room, unlocking toys, statues, posters and memorabilia. All that is gone. The locker room now looks like a back-office store room with poor lighting and no ability to pan around. then there's the roster. Everyone knows it's horrible this year. What's worse is the inability to create missing stars; read on...

The UGLYCreate a Wrestler mode is TERRIBLE! This is a big part of the game as I looked forward to using my created wrestlers in various attires to compete online. However, once again, PS3 falls way-side to X Box as it's limited to 32 layers (again) while 360 has 64 (again!) Likewise, a lot of the logo's and designs are non-compatable with online play. In other words, short of using the basic pre-designed tattoos, if you try to be creative, you can't use this CAW online. And a personal gripe of minethey took out the "Rated R Superstar" logothat's an easy 4 layers to create each time manually. In 07 it was a 1 layer option. (Not that it could be used online anyway now, very disappointing.) 24/7 mode is cumbursom. Repetitive, load times and not very responsive. Storylines develope themselves regardless of your input.

The GOOD (yes, there's some...) graphics are much better, not quite what I'd hoped, but for the 1st time on a PS3, it's a huge improvement from 07. More weapons and hot spots. I'm still amazed by some of the new weapon movements, articulations and scene's. Give THQ credit for that improvement. The new fighting style controls are a welcomed adjustment. It allows each character to be more unique and has simplified the controls exponentially. No longer press R2, hold for an 1/8 of a second, tap triangle and move the right analog stick praying it works. The controls are much simpler and more effective, although that comes at the previously mentioned loss of move quantity. Online play is better than last year, PS3 users can now use CAWS online without getting disconnected (although, again, the CAW mode is seriously lacking.) One of the best features, (again, back to the CAW mode) is the addition of new hair styles. For those of us who use this mode, it's a Godsend to finally have long hair options for male wrestlers that look authentic.

All-in-all, it's an OK game. With the advanced technology of the PS3 it's a real shamw THQ didn't take advantage of it with it's first release. With 80 gigs of hard drive and 8 processors, it should load faster, and hold more content. Theres an abundant amout of material missing from previous years, this version seems stripped down, almost like a demo. Next year, perhaps THQ will listen more to it's gaming fans, in the mean time, I'm gonna check of Midway's TNA wrestling game... perhaps that'll pick up where THQ left off!

I have to say that with this years installment of the WWE Smackdown series I am kind of disappointed as it displays a true step back in the progression of the overall series. Here are a few pro's and con's about the game that I think anyone should consider before buying the game.

Pro: They have overhauled the control system and fighting styles, for example if you're a high flyer like Rey Mysterio you can pull off some of his very spectacular moves with just a one button push simplifying it so anyone can play it like a pro. The hardcore fighting style also gives you an extensive controlling system when pulling off weapon offense, for example if you are a hardcore wrestler you can have a chair and do the classic pillmanizing move of placing an opponents ankle within the chair and stomping on it in an attempt to break your opponents ankle. Flaming tables have also made their debut and this is truly the best looking thing about it as when you're playing an ECW extreme rules match you can recreate some classic moments.

Con: The roster is very very disappointing this year with the exclusion of the former tag team champs London and Kendrick or Kevin Thorn to make room for lackluster diva's that let's be honest nobody will play as. This is always a major criticism I have every year with the WWE games as there are always big stars that you would naturally expect to be in but aren't. If you don't include DX which aren't playable from the very start you only actually have 1 tag team in Cryme Tyme which as I'm sure you can imagine if pretty stupid when you have 2 separate tag team championships.

Pro: The Legends roster. Where THQ let you down with the main roster they make it up to you with the legends roster as every year they take votes from fans as to which legends they would love to see in future games and this year shows that they haven't ignored the fans. Focusing a lot on ECW they have Foley, Terry Funk & Sabu as ECW legends (Rightly so). Then we have the returning Rock, Austin, Shane O Mac, Piper & Bret Hart and 2 new additions with "Ravishing" Rick Rude and the Returning Mr. McMahon.

Con: WWE 24/7 Mode. This is honestly a big disappointment for the game. THQ promised us a brand new mode that combined Season Mode and GM Mode, they also promised us it would be brilliant and exciting but all we got was repetition and boredom. There are however new additions to the mode that make it sort of interesting, they give you the option on your days off to do things like rest yourself up after a hard days work or do some promotional work like a press conference or commercials. You also have the option to star in a movie for a day (Honestly how many movies do you know that are filmed in a day?) Doing such things like resting yourself up to lower your fatigue however seriously damage your popularity, so to balance the both are extremely difficult.

All in all it is a good, entertaining game that is worth at least a purchase and a few rounds on your PS3. I haven't had much go of the online mode yet but the ranking system seems pretty easy to understand and simplistic so honestly get it and decide for yourself whether you want to keep it or not.

I have not had a wrestling game since the playstation, and I figured i may as well get an updated version, and the price was right. This was on clearance new for a really low price, I figured what a steal. I was wrong. There is a reason for the lower price.

Good: The graphics are great, characters real, good introduction to the ring.

Bad: Playability for a weekend gamer like is poor, combersome trying to get the right button or joystick to get a move off, not a quick learning curve. what happen to the days of the buttons doing all the punching and kicking, and the arrows doing the moving. not so much anymore. Secondly, the voiceover during the matches repeats quite a bit, and gets annoying . Finally the load time. A few of my matches were shorter than the actual load time for enterance sequences and post match shows.

Overall, if you get this at a discount, the above reasons, and for many of the other bugs that other gamers note. However, I am still pleased with the updates in gaming since I last had a game. Worth a look at, and for serious gamers, rent it before you buy it to make sure it's worth it to own.

The detail on this faceplate is incredible! It has a few places where the paint has been "worn" off and the wood looks very natural. There's also a few paint drips and other things.

Before seeing this in person we were thrilled. Now we're blown away.

Great job by the designers.

Although the Demo for the PS3 version of this game on PSN is rated poorly, and makes the game look terrible, it's actually an enjoyable game. You see, the Demo is placed smack dab in the middle of the game, where the difficulty is far too advanced for someone just starting the game. So that's why the Demo is no fun.

Anyway, as a fan of the Book Series, I instantly got this game. The game doesn't let you choose the name of your owl, -sadly-, but you can choose one of four different species; Spotted, Barn, Horned, or Great Grey owl. Spotted owl is the fast and weak one, Barn Owl is overall good in everything, Horned basically is terrible in everything and is worst one to pick, and Great Gray is slow, but it's the strongest. In the end I recommend choosing Barn Owl or Great Grey on your first try and then, if you want a Gold Trophy, beat the game with the rest of the owls as well.

The game doesn't really get old. Although it's short, the missions have variety, and you're never doing the same thing twice. The Bonus Mission in each Stage is basically just a Free Play, where you can roam around Tyto or Kuneer and such, and pick from extra missions.

I'm already in the last world, and I got the game about 5 days ago. I spent a large ammount of time collecting trophies, and if I didn't, I'd be done with the game by now.

So all in all it's a great game, and pretty easy to get Gold Medals and to beat the game. Although the story is kind of boring and most of the gameplay mechanics won't make much sense to younger players, it's a realy great game.

Oh, also, there are a few minor glitches, but they are always fixed in about 5 seconds so there shouldn't be a problem.

The game is $50 and it's only about 5 1/2 hours long, INCLUDING collecting all the trophies, so the price is kind of jumping the bucket. Perhaps renting the game and beating it would be better.

I got this game for Christmas, and I think it's lots of fun. The flying has a realistic look and feel to it and the controls aren't too complicated. The missions are fairly easy, but not too easy. This game is good for when you want to play a game that isn't too action packed, but isn't a complete bore either. You can unlock and buy new armor and unlock bonus missions and attack moves.

The only thing I don't particularly care for are the cut scenes. They seem like they are a lower quality than the rest of the game. It's not a huge issue though.

Let me start out by saying that I am a HUGE NASCAR fan. I play NASCAR 09 a ton because it was the only NASCAR game available. After seeing all the videos and all the hype surrounding this game, so far it's been a bit of a disappointment. The game needs major patches to fix issues. If the game didnt have so many glitches and silly mistakes, it could easily be a 4 star rating or an 8/10. Below are the pro's and con's after playing the game for 3 hours. For every pro, their is a con and usually the con is greater.

Pros:

Paint booth: It's cool to fully paint and customize your car. It's almost identical to Forza's system.

Attention to detail: The in-car camera is awesome. You actually see your drivers feet hit the clutch or put his foot on the brake. Also will move his hands to shift. If you drive as Dale Jr you can see his driving gloves are black Adidas.

The pre race introduction is cool. Announcers talk about the track, fireworks go off, fly overs, etc..

The menu: I find this to be really cool. People walking around outside, your crew working on the car, and it's easy to navigate. When selecting tracks it shows like a pit pass with stats which is cool.

Gameplay: The cars are sensitive and don't require to much steering wheel input. Cars feel solid and drive like a 3,500lb+ car. Physics are pretty good.

Drafting: Finally other cars will work with you and push you

Pit stops: Animations are really cool. To see the lug nuts fall off and gas spill out is neat.

Setups: You can tune your car as much or as little as you like. Perfect for the simulation or arcade driver.

Pace car: Under caution its cool to see an actual pace car

Cons:

Paint booth: Making your own decals and stuff is cool, but the controls can be clunky. NASCAR 09 did it right by having an online feature and then import it to you game. Would be much easier to make cool designs instead of something a 2nd grader did with crayons.

Attention to detail: Things like the caution lights being on while the race is under green is silly. Also if you spin through the infield and end up on pit road you get black flagged for speeding.

Damage: Even after flipping over and hitting cars head on, my car looks like I hit a deer instead of another car at 190mph

Race modes: If you want to practice you have to go to a separate session from the main menu. No other cars are out there with you. If you choose to race, you get to qualify and then race. Can't even change your setup in between.

Hitting the wall is a joke. Your car basically just comes to a stop. You don't smash into it and then your car spins out of control. If you drive through the grass your car doesnt spin out.

Cautions: This is even more a joke. I spun out, 10 cars hit me, and no caution. I had to drive in reverse for about 10 seconds before it came out. If you spin by yourself it still wont come out even if you wreck hard.

No DNF's: You can destroy your car as much as you want, drive with full tape on the grille, and nothing happens. Maybe you lose a little performance but that's it.

Pit stops: It's great to have the animation but having to wait 10 seconds for it to load kinda kills it. Also if your under caution, the game should ask you what you want to adjust well before getting on pit road.

Online: One word....horrible. If you try to bump draft you wreck basically. And if the caution flag actually does come out, the crashed car has to sorta drive back to start finish line from this over head blimp camera. One time I just stared at a stopped car on the back stretch for 5 minutes. Then when we were about to start the race, cars started flipping and spinning. Online is useless until they fix it.

Career mode: It's basically just a season mode. Go to the race, race it, and move on. How come games like MLB 11 The Show can have ticket prices, free agents, stadium upgrades, trades, sponsors for the stadium, etc etc and we get a season mode? A real career mode would feature hiring a pit crew, buying a shop, building chassis for different tracks, hiring more drivers to make a full race car team (like Richard Childress Racing), engine shop and engine builders. When you race you should earn money and that money should be used to buy better crew chiefs, better products, larger shop building, bigger sponsors, higher expectations, etc etc. Have an off-season where you can test at tracks to improve your car and team or public events to gain fans and impress sponsors. A merchandise section where you can sell die-casts, memorabilia, shirts, etc etc to earn money and gain fame. Would be cool to start out as a rookie in a 1 car team and over a season or 2 be a major powerhouse and have a full 4 car team.

Wrong paint schemes: I know a patch is scheduled to update the roster and paint schemes, but seriously, why make a game with last years schemes and cars? It would be like MLB 11 The Show releasing the game with players on last years teams. Every sport releases their game around the start of the season with current rosters, NASCAR should too. Over the course of the season, have patches and downloads for new car skins or if drivers get dropped or a new driver starts.

Night races: Another head scratcher. I am racing at Charlotte and it's dusk the entire time. There are no day to night transitions. Either have the race in the day or at night, not in between.

HUD: I don't want to see how many experience points I am getting for "Dominating." I also don't want car radar which is a small icon at the bottom of your screen showing where cars are around you. Actually, this might be a PRO since you have no rear view mirror and can't tell where anyone is unless you look behind you which usually isnt a good idea while doing 180mph around a turn.

Spotter: It's great that he can inform me to drink tons of fluids cause its hot, but it sucks when he cant tell me there is a car low. As soon as a car comes low or high, spotter should tell you that. I don't care that I'm leading and can do this all day, I care if a car is coming up on me or I'm approaching lap traffic. Maybe he got himself a cold beverage and missed all the cars around me.

Difficulty: Even on VERY HARD the game isn't very hard. Very hard would be riding in 20th position fighting for 19th. Very hard is being at Daytona or Talladega and being stuck in middle of the pack cause there is no where to go all by yourself. I raced at Charlotte and after 10 laps I had almost a 3 second lead. Then all of a sudden by lap 13 the field was right behind me. If my tires went away in 10 laps or the AI just got amazing, that's pretty stupid.

As you can see, a lot of issues. For their 1st time out the game is playable, but only to a certain degree. If you want online, skip this game until a patch is released. I am going to stick to single player until the new car paint schemes come out and the game is fixed. I hope this helped.

Here's where I'm coming from. I got started on Papyrus sims on the PC 10-15 years ago. I went from those games to the EA Nascar games for X-Box but was really disappointed, particularly in the graphics, even after putting in some time on them. I didn't bother to even try the EA versions for the PS3. Today, prior to buying Nascar 2011, I've been driving F1 2007, Dirt2, and GT5 for the PS3. I love all three games and they have set the standard for my expectations. With this in mind, to sum up my thoughts on Nascar 2011 while it approaches (but doesn't meet) the standards set by the other three games, it blows away the EA games. I am glad I bought this game if anything else, to support a new developer in creating a good Nascar racing game again. It looks like this will be more of a process (with patches) than an event (with initial release).

I bought this game yesterday and put in about three hours with it last night, and raced in 17 different online races, trying out Martinsville, Daytona, Talladega, and Atlanta. Here is a list of Likes, Eh, and Dis-Likes:

Likes -

* Graphics (other than the resolution, see below) the immersion is good, I like the sense of speed, and I can pick out detail a good distance down the track, which helps in choosing a passing strategy, avoiding a wreck, etc. I caught myself getting tunnel vision on the racing line, and using my (virtual) peripheral vision for gauging where I was relative to the wall, the yellow line, other cars, etc.

* Spotter so far, so good. Yeah, the repetitive "you're clear" can get a little annoying, but when in traffic I relied entirely on the spotter's guidance and I thought it worked well

* Little details The bits of rubber building up on your windshield. Bumps in the track. Changing light conditions with shadows, reflections, the change in sound of the air as your car gets close to the wall, etc. I am sure I will notice more as I spend more time with the game.

* The Draft I like how the draft is portrayed with the option of having it visualized with "wingtip contrails" coming off the spoiler of the car in front of me. Looks cool caught myself watching the draft instead of watching my racing line. The feel of the draft seemed right to me as well.

* Two cockpit views one "to scale" and one "wide angle". I switched between both depending on whether I wanted to try to use my mirrors or not. I don't usually race any sim using the outside views.

* Ticker tape at the top of the HUD good for a quick glance to see time differences and closure rates between you and the car in front, and the car behind

* Damage model not bad, didn't experience it much, but did notice rubbing the wall a few times in one race was starting to really impact my top speeds on the super speedways

Eh -

* Force-feedback programming seems simpler than F1, GT5, or Dirt2. Granted, these other sims have different types of racing, but even Nascar driving in GT5 had more "feel" to it. I hope Eutechnyx improves this with a patch.

* Driving physics I thought the superspeedways were a little easy using the default setups, but not a big deal. The default setup for Martinsville had me suffering from push most of the time and running slower than the pack, which indicates I needed to do some work in the garage to tweak the car for my tastes. So this was a little more of a welcome challenge. I should mention that I turned off all driving aids for my entire session.

* 720p resolution as soon as I looked at the back of the box, I felt a twinge of disappointment. I really was hoping for 1080p, to rival GT5. I found that the more I played the game though, the less I cared about the lower resolution.

* Mirrors not a lot of help. They are available in one of the cockpit views. I haven't used the "radar" display yet as I mainly listen for guidance from the spotter.

* Customizing the controller buttons for different functions is clumsy. I hope they fix this with a patch.

* Experience points popping up based on game events kinda cool, but I will likely disable this function in the HUD

* Crashes believe it or not, I think they might be a little over-done here. It's a little hard to suspend disbelief during some of the wild rides (spinning like a top in the air, that kind of stuff)

Dislikes -

* Multiplayer bugs. Granted, this was the first night for the servers to go live, and I set my expectations low. Still, I felt like I was a beta tester for the online portion. There were long load times depending on the number of drivers. One session failed to load at all, and I had to reboot the PS3 to get out of it. Occasionally the other cars would disappear from the "map view" of the track. Other times just the proximity of a car (no contact) would lead to a bizarre crash. Still other times, if I was on the pole, my race would start but the other drivers were stuck at the starting line. Eutechnyx has some work to do here. Even after all this though I mean I raced 17 different rounds (at an average of 10 laps per race), and I had fun!

* Rolling start right before the green flag both online and offline races are too sloppy here

* Yellow flags, particularly in multiplayer inconsistent, and distracting with the cut scenes, pitting, etc. Some wrecks really should have had an immediate yellow, yet they didn't. I think if the settings for Yellow flags was more sensitive, online races would tend to be cleaner.

* You choose your car/driver at the beginning of the game, and then your stuck with that for the rest of your game-save! What if halfway through the actual 2011 Nascar season I decide I am not a Kurt Busch fan (for example)?? Am I stuck driving his car anyway in the game, or having to start over my online driver from zero experience?

A few things I've yet to try out Career mode, pitting during a race, in-depth car setup. Look to other reviews for opinions on these. Oh and I don't begrudge Eutechnyx for not reflecting the actual 2011 Nascar last minute details I mean if they update that with a patch, that's cool, but it doesn't detract from the game for me. I would like to see them use the new points system though.

In summary I am glad I bought it on opening day, bugs and all. I had a good time running multiplayer last night even with the bugs, and the time flew by. One sign of a good game is when you have to make yourself quit I kept thinking "ok, after this next race I'll quit and go to bed. Well, maybe one more... Ok, this time I really mean it, just one more..." If Eutechnyx is committed to working out the bugs in the online action and some of the game mechanics, then I am committed to supporting their establishment of a new Nascar racing franchise.

I think the game is great and I like it a lot, yes there is room for improvements too. compared to previous nascar games (I have), this one is a huge improvement.

Graphics: they are good, but I also own GT5 and if you compare it to GT5 you know it could be better.

Wheel: I use it with a Logitech wheel and the game gives you great feedback on the traction, loose (over steering) tight (under steering). in my mind I think it does a good job there and you can feel how much traction you have in the corners and if you will hit the wall or not.

when a yellow comes out it takes you to the video of the thing, I don't like that but is ok not a big deal.

I was going to give 4 starts but why not 5, I'm having fun with it.

* they said before releasing the game that there will be a free upgrade to change the game to the 2011 season and get the new track, don't think is out yet, waiting for it.

Thanks,

Okay so it doesn't have every little nitpick customization, but let me tell you what From a Dad with two kids, and barely enough time to even WATCH the races on TV, I'd rather spend my time RACING in the game, and not setting my car up.

I set the difficulty (which it remembers in my profile), I pick the track, and press "x" and next thing I know I'm at the back of the pack working my way up! Note: I don't even qualify or any of that. (which I could do if I wanted, but choose not to)

Racing on this game is configured to be about as "arcade pick-up game" -ish as possible and it succeeds amazingly well.

The one thing that drove me nuts in the beginning was that it was pretty hard to get used to everything, but now that I've logged a few (and by few I mean under ten since I got it) I'm more comfortable with the accel and brakes and have turned off the "throttle/brake control" button might not be a big deal to hardcore gamers, but it's a big deal for a game that is just meant to be played once in a while.

Score score score all around!!!

Graphics are great, sound is what you'd expect, and controls are spot on.

No complaints, even at full market price it's worth it if you've been waiting three years for a Nascar racer!

Enjoy it! (and stop whining)!!!

p.s. = for all you whine-babies complaining about it not being "sim-enough" how's this: I race with gas and tire wear OFF and my damage is purely COSMETIC! So how's that rub ya???? LOL Just hae fun with the darn thing!

If there were 3.5 stars, I would have a tough choice on what to rate it, so I gave it 4 stars. I can't believe people are giving it 1 and 2 stars, that's ridiculous. I am going to give a simple review by showing you the pros and cons of the game.

Pros:

-Graphics are very impressive, best on a NASCAR game yet.

-Sound is also commendable. Realistic engine sounds, announcers and spotters are solid.

-Online play is great and well put together. Seems as if everyone always races fairly, no glitches that I have seen thus far, and presentation is as good as it gets.

-Presentation offline is fantastic. If you race in a season, it's all there, pre raace introductions from the two announcers, the flyover, and it also shows the current points of each driver going down the rows of the starting grid. Menus are easy to navigate, options are good, driver selection is complete.

-Finally, paint schemes are included again.

-Bump drafting is here, which is good and bad. Sometimes other drivers would help me with a slight push, other times they bumped me out of the way nearly crashing me.

-Replay factor is great. I always want to play it for some reason or another. It will definitely hold fans over for the 2012 edition.

Cons:

-Feels too much like an arcade game for my taste, but as a seasoned veteran to these games since 2003, I found pleasure none the less. Wish they would have made it a bit more technical and less pick up and play. A solid effort, but I hope to see a change next year.

-Based on 2010 season, we will have to wait for a DLC update for new schedule and drivers.

-Load times are sometimes annoying and longer than you would expect.

-Experienced a few minor glitches with online play, but nothing serious.

-Caution flag only waves for major accidents, if you spin out you basically don't have a chance of catching back up.

-Currently waiting for patches to fix all the above issues. One has already came, waiting for the 2nd one.

We shouldn't bash the game. It's Eutechnyx's first try at a NASCAR game and if you ask me, it's a heck of a lot better than EA's past few attempts. It is a very solid package. There are glitches, yes, but overall, it is a must-own for fans of the sports, such as myself. Days are gone where we once had PERFECT Nascar games such as Thunder 2003 and 2004, so get used to not seeing those any time soon. EA really disappointed me with 2005 through 2009, making sub par, boring, unplayable Nascar games, but hopefully Eutechnyx can save the genre. I'm sure anyone would agree with me when I say the best ones were 2003 and 2004. Easily. If there was a PERFECT Nascar game, it would have the depth and presentation of Thunder 2004, the gameplay and finesse of Thunder 2003, and the graphics and online play of the current 2011. So we still wait for the PERFECT Nascar game. In the mean time, pick this one up, you will not regret it. NASCAR the Game 2011 will definitely feed your hunger for the spectacle that is NASCAR racing.

I bought this game for my 10 year old son for Christmas. He likes it and plays it quite often but originally when he opened it he said, "This is not the game I was talking about." He really wanted the more traditional Nascar racing game. The one where they race on the track. Apparently this game takes place off road, out of the track and throughout the city. You still race but it is very untraditional. My son finally told me the other day, "It's not the real racing game but you still race and it is still fun. Thanks Mom." Hope this helps when trying to choose between the Nascar games when you have no clue what you are looking at.

Pros

Good story and voice acting

The visuals are magnificentI found my self looking outside of Cloud City rather than killing stormtroopers at one point

When you fight a jedi boss the game switches to a wide-angle pulled-back cinematic camera reminiscent of the duel between Dokku, Obiwan and Anakin in Revenge of the Sith. This is one of the best ways I've seen of taking advantage of the HD screen format and resolution. When you Force push your enemy across the room it really does remind you a lot of the movies.

Sound track is goodsome new themes and old themes are enhanced.

Even though NPCs appear to have the ability to block your force powers or lightsaber blows, each one of them has a particular weakness you can exploit so it's not really a problem

Cons

Locking on to objects is sometimes clumsyPsiOps did it much better

A few bugs here and there

As compared to say Jedi Outcast / Academy it doesn't have as rich a Force upgrade mechanismmainly because the story doesn't really lend itself to it

Camera needs to be manually adjusted frequently

Too short

There are some frustrating jumping puzzles especially with a problematic camera

Considering I've been waiting since Jedi Academy for another Star Wars game, and the fact that the average budget for a video game is over $40 Million, spending $60 on a decent Star Wars game seems like a bargain to me. I have no complaints.

Comparison to the Wii version:

Wii version uses canned Star Wars musical score. Reminds you of playing the old Jedi Power Battles game.

Wii controls are quite well thought out and does make Force wielding fun.

But over time the Wii interaction does tend to get fatiguing.

The visuals between the Wii and PS3 are night and dayincluding the cutscenes which are rendered using the in-game engine. The Wii's visuals just look really dated/primitive compared to the PS3's. E.g. on the first mission on Kassyk, if you look at what's happening in the background on the PS3, there are stormtroopers on a beach-head in the distance slowly advancing, and shooting and then dying. It's gratuitous but it's beautifully done. None of this made it to the Wii. Of course this is understandable since the Wii is a less capable system.

Wii provides additional game levels not provided in the PS3 game.

The Duel Mode on the Wii can only be played with another player, rather than with an AItoo bad.

If you own both the PS3 and Wii, I recommend buying the PS3 version and maybe the Wii version when it goes on sale. TFU is visually the most stunning Star Wars title to-date and missing the opportunity to experience it's full visual splendor would be a shame.

This game is pretty good but could have, and should have been great but as usual they just decided to get too cute. Using the force powers to dangle stormtroopers in the air, throw them around, and hit them with lightning (as seen in the trailers) is lots of fun for a while but that doesn't even come close to making up for all the areas of the game where the designers just thought it would be funny to frustrate the crap out of us. FYI...NOT A LOT OF SITH LORDS SPEND 20 MINUTES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO CROSS A FREAKING JUNK PILE!!!! Oh and how the hell does a junked robot steal the force energy from me?!! Oh how I dreamed of the day when I could become a sith lord and fight a giant junk robot and spend a solid hour doing stupid jump puzzles and falling into lava. Why? Why do people think it's funny to frustrate us? The game has a great storyline, almost as good as KOTOR, but that doesn't make up for the glitches and frustrations. After not even 3 days of owning it, I beat the game despite the frustrations and glitches, that tells me they were a little short on content for it to have been hyped for so long.Don't misunderstand, this is a must have for any Star Wars fan, but it is not worth the 59.99 price tag and doesn't live up to the hype. Wait for the price to drop to at least 39.99 and then get it.

Buy Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Now

The Force Unleashed is absolutely horrible. Do not buy it.

While the story line is good, the game is incredibly short. It only takes a day or two to play through the entire game.

Also, the game play itself is very weak, and it has no relationship to the Star Wars Universe. The main character has more force powers than 100 Jedi put together. He can blast through blast doors. He can throw people and objects hundreds of feet away, and he can even rip a Star Destroyer from the sky. Yet, for some reason, Darth Vader and the Emperor give him trouble later in the game. This is odd given that their force powers are no where close to this strong.

Perhaps the troubling aspect to the game was the main character's weapon, his lightsaber. Starkiller's lightsaber works like no other lightsaber. His works like a glowing baseball bat. Every enemy must be hit multiple times with the glowing baseball bat in order to kill them. It doesn't cut through anything.

This isn't exactly what one would expect from a Star Wars game. However, it is what everyone has come to expect from George Lucas: a sub par product with little thought given to how it fits into the Star Wars Universe that Lucas created over 30 years ago. This game is proof again that George Lucas has completely lost his touch. It is also proof that there's no one at Lucas Arts who is willing to tell the Emperor that he has no clothes.

Again, this is a horrible game. Don't waste your money on it.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a truly epic failure considering what this game almost could have been. The physics engine is amazingly powerful, the graphics are awesome, the story is pretty good and you can do some really, really cool things with force powers. So why 1 star? Well, because The Force Unleashed is so heavily flawed and broken that it ruins what could have been a game of the year. Here are the list of flaws:

1. Aiming. Its basically random sometimes. It can be very difficult to target exactly who or what you want with your awesome force powers. What is really frustrating is that in the demo aiming was substantially better. How does that happen?

2. Button-press boss kills. Those horribly annoying button press kills to finish off boss's cinematically are everywhere. And worse is that they instantly fail if you happened to hit an extra lightsaber attack at the end of beating on the boss.

3. Character control is seriously flawed. By this I mean that you don't always go where you want your character to go nor do you jump where you think you will go all the time. The Force Unleashed has several points that want to be a platformer, but character movement is horrible so that the heavy platforming areas just get to be frustrating chores. Especially the parts with instant-deah falls. The control problem is exacerbated by the next problem...

4. Poor camera angles. This problem doesn't occur all the time, but it seems to occur mostly when you don't want it, such as boss fights where the angle shifts suddenly so that you can't get a good grasp on where you are in the environment or say when you get swarmed by a dozen stormtroopers.

5. Overly linear level design. You basically do nothing but follow the path in front of you. There are a couple of times when you have more then one option, but those are few and far between. And frankly it really doesn't matter which option you take anyways. You don't notice this right away, but eventually it starts to get to you.

6. Poor AI. The enemy AI very easily gets hung up on environmental obstacles. Its pretty annoying when you kill a jedi because he got stuck on a pillar in the floor.

7. Combat does not flow well. While you can do some amazing kills in combat (such as flinging enemies into one another), it can also be horribly frustrating. Sometimes when you get close in to your enemies you can swing your lightsaber and sometimes you can't. You're supposed to be a jedi (or a sith) and the combat doesn't reflect that so well. Lucasarts should have played some God of War before they let this game out of QA.

8. Graphical glitches happen a bit too often. The physics engine is really powerful, so I'm somewhat leanient on deformable terrain clipping somewhat, but the parts when all of a sudden whole sections of the level blinked out were a bit too much. This wasn't common, but it was almost a game stopper for me.

LucasArts used to make amazing games. If they'd only went back and updated Jedi Outcast instead of making this garbage they'd have had a fantastic game on their hands. Instead they created a pile of garbage

Want Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Discount?

I enjoyed the demo for this game very much because I felt like a dangerous, powerful jedi. I was frying gangs of stormtroopers with my force lightning and wading through their puny blaster fire to cut them all down with my lightsaber. Only when I bought the game did I discover that the demo features a completely "maxed-out" character, and that the demo level's entertaining mayhem is not at all representative of the game as a whole.

Your character does not feel strong until the very end of the game, if then--a full combo of melee attacks doesn't kill some regular stormtroopers, and enemies with overpowered bazookas and flamethrowers (read--every enemy from about mission 5 on) can kill you from full health before you can even turn your camera to figure out who's hitting you. The big creatures like AT-STs and Rancors are pretty much all the same--throw rocks at their heads until they die.

The story is great. In fact, I wish I knew more about the characters I was introduced to. The cutscenes seemed to give you the bare minimum, as if I had already seen the movie and was playing the game.

Also, the game has a lot of frustrating bad design. If my character steps forward with each attack, don't make him fight on narrow catwalks. Game designers should have learned that players don't like enemies who can knock them down and juggle them to death a long time ago, too. I felt like I was being rewarded for being as cheap as possible, and wound up running straight through several areas after dying repeatedly. I really needed a "fire from cover" mechanic that allowed me to target items for the "force grab" maneuver without standing in the line of fire, and I was constantly pelted by off-camera enemies and enemies far outside my target range. Finally--I didn't like "press this button now" scenes on the old Dragon's Lair arcade game, I didn't like them in Resident Evil 4, and I don't like them now. This game's take on them is 100% pointless--if you miss the button, the guy breaks out of his headlock and you grab him again for another try--repeat as necessary. All in all, this game plays like a super-nice looking Nintendo 64 game.

In the game's defense, the visuals and sound are spectacular, and really immersed me in the "Star Wars" experience--that is, until the bad stuff brought me back down to earth (remember in the movies when Luke had to fight the stormtroopers with shields that blocked the force? Neither do I...) The only thing I can say against the graphics is that Juno Eclipse has really freaky huge teeth that distracted me during the cutscenes.

All in all, buy this game expecting it to be a beautiful button-masher and you won't be disappointed.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance lets you play with a team of your favorite superheroes. Choose from Wolverine, Spider-Man, Thing, Storm, and many others!

You can sort of consider this a Diablo style game with a much more upbeat style. You are one of four characters on the screen at any time, and can quickly flip through them. You go through the rooms hacking, slashing, slashing, and then hacking some more. Along the way you grab colored orbs and glowing coins to help you level up your own character and unlock goodies.

It's disappointing that at the beginning your four starting characters are Spider-Man, Thor, Wolverine, and Captain America. As much as I like those guys, couldn't ONE of them have been female? Still, it's only maybe 10 minutes later that you get to the "team switching" spot and can begin to design your own team. They're not stingy with the characters. Right from this point you can immediately begin to use spider-woman, deadpool, iceman, colossus, elektra, human torch, iron man, thing, luke cage, invisible woman, storm, mr. fantastic, ms marvel, and moon knight. There's also other unlockable characters that you can get as you go.

Each character can be levelled up to gain new abilities and outfits. You can choose characters that "traditionally" (in comic book stories) work together, and they will actually know to do combos in gameplay.

The characters personalities really shine through in the cut scenes. Wolverine is stand-offish and a bit arrogant. Spiderman cracks jokes the entire time. Captain America feels he's in charge. I realize that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for them to have redone the cut scenes for every single combination of characters that you could have done! So again, I wish they had a woman in the set :) Maybe kick out Spidey and his incessant comments ...

The graphics are rather good, from the flickering flame to the shadows and reflections. This isn't a game of subtleties, though. No textured fabrics or flower petals here. Everything is shiney and plasticky.

On the sound side, it's a comic book adventure. You have incredibly cliched dialogue given by over-the-top voices, and lots of booming going on. It's to be expected.

The storyline is also a traditional comic book story but heck, we all grew up with them! You're saving the world. Depending on how well you play, you achieve that mission to different degrees. They did a great job getting you to replay it over and over again in order to unlock the best ending you can.

I really give the game great kudos for their multiplayer and online options. If you're playing at home, you can easily co-op in four people, one for each character, and go to town. There aren't many games where four people can easily have great fun playing together. For online, the same is true you can really have a lot of fun conquering levels as a wide range of characters, interacting with players all over the world.

This isn't a heavy thinking game, and it doesn't involve complex concepts. Instead, it's a game that adults can easily play with kids, and that can give you a few hours of fun relief from the real world. Well recommended!

Hey, I admit, this may not be the game if you are looking to highlight the grand capabilities of your PS3. But if you wanna have some good, old fashioned rock'em, sock'em with Spider Man, Captain America, Thor, and lots of other classic Marvel heroes, then this is the game for you. If you have played either of the X-Men legends games you get the idea of what this games' set up is like. It is mission based as the heroes battle Doctor Doom and a legion of other villians.

Don't get me wrong, the graphics are an upgrade from the X-Men Legends graphics, but don't harness the full capaability of the PS3, which I doubt we will see harnessed by any game until sometime next year.

The story of the game is long and will provide hours of fun and entertainment. To be honest, I feel that some of the other reviewers here have been a bit harsh. Stop expecting too much, too soon from your PS3. Better and better game will come, just as they did with PS2, you just have to be patient and in the meantime, have some fun. Ultimate Alliance will provide you with that fun.

Buy Marvel Ultimate Alliance Now

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a great game, but only when you have some people to play with you. The cooperative mode can be fun, but I definitely prefer the arcade mode because each player is given a score afterward and this will give you bragging rights if you score higher than your friends.

However, whether or not you have friends to play with you or not, this game is ultimately a button mashing experience while looking at your favorite Marvel character do fancy moves. For ages, game developers have not put too much effort into most of the superhero games because they are franchises that sell themselves, and this game was a perfect example of it.

If you have friends that are willing to play with you, give this game a try, it will be fun at times and tedious sometimes as well.

If you don't mind playing alone, you can give this a try too... but for the most part when I was playing alone I was left with an empty experience of button mashing.

I'd say this game is rentworthy, but not worth buying unless you're a Marvel fanatic.

This is the type of game you beat once and you can't go through again, it's really a one hit wonder. You play it once, and you never touch it again... even with hard mode on the game felt the same all over.

I really expected more out of a game featuring all my favorite Marvel superheroes, and was kind of disappointed. It's fun to play through once, but aside from changes to background scenery, the action gets a little repetitive. Almost zero replay value, but decent graphics and game controls.

I'm probably one of 2K's more involved consumers. I check out the tweets, I follow the developer videos, I check out the YouTube commentators, the forums, the blogs (ie. Chris Smoove, Operation Shill, etc.). So I knew that 2K14's graphics would be relatively unchanged; I knew that the presentation was basically a blue version of 2K13; and that generally, PS3/360 would get the short end of the stick, with next-gen around the corner.

If you let the internet tell it, everybody should "just getz teh next-gen verzionz!!1!" (nevermind that $400-$500 device you need in order to play it). I'm not sure when I'll get a next-gen system, so for the foreseeable future, this was my only option for a 2014 basketball game.

I had been reluctant about purchasing this game at full price, but ultimately I decided to take a chance on the pre-release rumblings of how great 2K14 "feels". I'll admit that the defense has improved. So far, it seems both challenging and rewarding. You aren't helpless in the paint anymore, sticking to your man on drives seems to be easier, and the opponent's makes don't seem as cheap.

As for offense: having shooting/dribbling determined by stick pressure is pretty annoying. It's not impossible to get used to, but it makes dribbling less rewarding for me. I just want to break my man down, and not have to worry about whether I'll press too hard and launch a 30-footer. But on a positive note, I like that players seem to have a bit more "grip" to them. It doesn't feel as much like you're being yanked around by animations which, in turn, makes slashing more fun. Other than that, I really don't know what else to say about this game that hasn't been said about 2K13.

While it is an improvement, it's definitely not what I'd consider to be $60 worth of improvement. I understand now why 2K decided to not release a demo. And I'm sure they'll understand why I'm throwing this game on the used market in about 20 minutes. It feels more like a really good patch, than a fresh new product.

Unless you're a masochist, I recommend waiting on a 40% sale (at least), or just playing 2K13 with an updated roster. And this is coming from somebody who faithfully gets 2K on Day 1 and generally disagrees with people who say annual sports games "are the same every year."

Immediately in the first minute of NBA 2K14 I noticed a huge difference, but not in graphics. I didn't expect to see big improvements in graphics but I expected the game to have improvements in look and feel through both the menu and the gameplay. I quickly found out that it wasn't the case. At least not for the menu. The gameplay had it's ups and downs that had me and my brother messing up on things we did with ease in 2K13. It was actually so bad that it took us a bit to get used to it. Funny how 8 games later we were still making dumb passes on the fast break after a steal because we are still very used to the 2K13 button layout.

Graphics: 4/5 The graphics are good don't get me wrong, but they didn't really improve over 2K13.

Performance: 5/5 The game has improved performance over 2K13 although it's not much it is an improvement.

Look & Feel: 4/5 The menu wasn't improved much, but the gameplay was so I can say it's better then average.

Controls: 3/5 This was 2K14's biggest flop. The controls were changed a little to much. Although they do have that familiar feel they're very much changed and kinda hard the get used to them after have been so adapted to NBA 2K13.

Improvements & Downfalls vs. 2K13:

This is in my opinion the biggest improvements and downfalls verses it's predecessor. Very much like PRO's and CON's.

Improvements vs. 2K13:

+ The look and feel for the game is an improvement. Not a big one but an improvement none the less.

+ The defense in this game is much improved over 2K13. Some would say it's a little to perfect.

+ The details on some players. Some players in 2K13 looked odd and that's been fixed for at least the ones that I've used so far.

+ The game mechanisms are improved to give it a more realistic feel. (Example: If you try to block on a pump fake and the person starts to drive while you're in the air, there will be a collision and both of you will fall. Blocking foul will be called.) That's just one of the many improvements made to make the game more realistic.

Downfalls vs. 2K13:

Controls are a big downfall for this game. After getting used to playing the last one the game is kinda hard to get used to. 2K13 was such an easy transition from 2K12 when it came to controls (Mainly because they didn't really change much.). This was such a big challenge for both me and my brother. It was so bad that we were still trying to hold L2 while shooting and passing by mistake after a steal on the fast break 8 games later.

The Realism some can say is a bit over the top, and can make it actually feel a bit more fake then real sometimes. Some of the things like the example I mentioned in the improvements for the game mechanisms can happen way to often which don't really happen that often in real life.

Defense is one of those things that is both an improvement and a downfall. How? "You ask." The defense can sometimes be argued to be way to perfect. In the first game I played with Brooklyn Nets vs Houston Rockets (against my brother). Blocks and steals were happening way to often. We ended up 69 to 71 as the final score with a combined total of 28 blocks and 32 steals. That's big numbers for blocks and steals.

Conclusion:

Overall: 4/5 I think the game is worth buying. For those of you that would rather wait and get it when the price drops I would say, SMART CHOICE. I say if you already have 2K13 and are thinking about it but don't really know, wait for the price drop is my best advice. For those of you that are still rocking 2K12 or lower then this will be a good improvement that's well worth getting. I hope you guys enjoy and thanks for reading.

This game is a HUGE improvement over NBA 2K13. The GAMEPLAY has been vastly improved. Contact in the paint is now incredibly realistic, defense is now just as important and effective as offense is, and most importantly there is no "cheesing"! No euro step cheese, no flying through people for dunks, no leaning layup animations that caused you to brick layups whenever you got contact in the paint, and no getting bailed out when making stupid passes. It's a strategic game now that is incredibly balanced. If you're a gameplay guy and recognize the importance of true simulation basketball then this is a must-buy.

As for the modes, I hear that they are mostly the same as 2K13, but I haven't played any modes myself. I have played a few quick games and games online and I can tell you that the gameplay is the best it's been on current gen.

This game is awesome, music is great, gameplay is great, just an overall great game by 2k. I love it

Want NBA 2K14 Discount?

Lets get it out of the way, NBA 2k14 is basically a patched NBA 2k13 updated for the 2013-14 season. If you are just a casual basketball fan that just wants to play a quick game you are probably best served staying or buying 2k13( or if you're into the classic teams 2k11 for Jordan challenge, or 2k12 for the legends challenge).

With that out of the way, this is the best pure basketball simulation that has been released to date. In every sense it feels like the culmination of the 2k series on the court for this generation of consoles. Defense has been improved, especially inside. Contact in the paint feels a lot better than last year, and the new shot blocking system implemented feels great. There is no better feeling than chasing down a player on the fast break for a highlight block, 2k14 delivers this in spades. Controls have been changed for what feels like the 3rd or 4th year in a row. The right stick is now used for both dribble moves and shooting, with the L2 trigger being a new modifier for flashy passes. It takes a few games to get used to, especially if you played a lot of 2k13, but once you do you'll be pulling of crossovers, eurosteps, fadeaways and floaters in no time.

Graphically this is the same game we have gotten for the last few years, the presentation is essentially the same as last year as well. The only new mode is the Lebron challenge where you can play through the rest of Lebron's career, either staying with the Heat or taking your talents out of South Beach. I haven't put much time into this, but I imagine its a nice little alternate reality mode, and Lebron fans will love it.

So should you buy 2k14? I would say yes if you are a huge NBA fan and aren't planning on getting a next gen system at launch. This is the best pure basketball game made to date. If you haven't played a 2k game in years, by all means get this game. If you are planning on getting a PS4/XBox One you would probably be better off waiting for the next gen version(which by the recent trailer looks incredible). If you fall into the casual basketball fan category, you are probably better off saving some money and getting either last years version, or 2k11 or 2k12 for the legend modes(Only hardcore players will notice any substantial differences on the court, but they are there for those that are in the know). So with this release it is clear 2k's main focus was the next gen version, this is a "playing it safe" release in every sense, but honestly it was to be expected, this is the eighth 2k game on this generation of consoles and quite frankly we have seen worse thing from yearly sports titles, the fact that this is one of the best sports games on the market on old hardware gives them a pass imo.

This game is sooo much fun I know very little Japanese and even less Kanji/Hiragana but the menus and combos are very easy to figure out if you have ever played a Dynasty/Samurai warriors game you'll have an even easier time figuring out what is going on.

The game play is incredibly fun and I recommend this game to any One Piece fan and I recommend any Dynasty warrior / samurai warrior fan to give it a try

Fair warning only import this at this point if you are impatient like me it has been announced for a US/EU release this winter! (It's worth being impatient though the game is incredibly fun and it's always a good idea to support these sellers who have import games at reasonable prices :))

Hey all, I am a big fan of 1piece but its a bit dissapointing since :

1. It does not include the whole journey, some of it are missing (skypea, thriller bark, foxy crew, alvida, shanks, how they got going merry.. etc).

2. It is so much fun if I they include other characters in the journey (law, kid, etc) and I was hoping I can use all the characters including enemies ;p

3. They could have made the enemies super duper hard.. (I dont know if I can change the difficulty setting since its japanese..)

4. The existing story is too short, I've expected more than that.. eg, the battle against cp9, I thought I'll be battling against all the members of the cp9, but no.. only the giraffe, wolf, blueno and that tiger guy, forgot his name.. + baroque works, only battle against galdino aka mr3, mr2 bon clay, mr 0 croc, where's mr1(supa supa no mi?) and other female agents? (toge toge? mole? dog?)

5. Even if they include the story, they still left out some key part of it, eg, in shabaody there should be introduction of the 12 newcomers or whatever it is called..

Overall this is a great game and I would recommend it just for the sake of fun, if you love sengoku basara series, dynasty warriors, you should give this game a try..

I purchased this for the controller, but I was pleasantly surprised by infamous. I enjoyed one, although the graphics are a bit outdated. I am currently playing two. It is a great game. I love it. Glad that I purchased it. I didn't know what I was going to do while I was waiting for the god of war.

My son had asked for this for his birthday. It was quick to arrive. He is so hooked on the game that he cannot stop playing. It has two games in it and the controller that is included adds even more to the game. He said it is awesome and is very happy with the whole product. The game started off a little slow, but now even his wife can't stop watching him play. You'd love it too I'm sure.

My only complaint is that while it seems like a great deal that it is bundled with both Infamous games, the Infamous games themselves get really boring after a while. I wish this was bundled with the Playstation All Stars or a more interesting title, but it is a great deal that it comes with 2 game discs plus the controller which is working like a charm and looks neat. There's another blue controller bundle with the Uncharted series, so you might also want to consider that one.

Since all the Rock Revolution songs are covers I would never have never bought it if it was more expensive. Pleasant surprise though, the covers are generally very good quality, they're not much more different-sounding than live recordings by the original artist would be. Kudos to the cover band(s). If you're picky about songs sounding exactly like the album or radio version, the cover songs will probably bother you.

You can play drums, guitar, or bass, there are no vocals on Rock Revolution. I played with a Rock Band Guitar and Rock Band Drums, also tried Guitar Hero World Tour drums as described below. The Rock Band guitar worked fine with this game.

The vertical note scrolling isn't great, but I got used to it. The circular shape of the notes was ok and they were bright, better than the "Chinese hats" or whatever those Guitar Hero notes are, but the bright clear rectangles of Rock Band are the best in my opinion.

As far as drumming, the kick pedal notation as "just another note" is jarring, I did get used to it but never completely liked it. I was using the Rock Band drums and they work well for the most part, but the Guitar Hero World Tour drums weren't great with this game, the note mapping was too far off (especially on the cymbals), much like using the Guitar Hero drums in Rock Band.

On the guitar side, it seemed like there were more chords and I felt like I was actually playing Electric Guitar more than Rock Band. There's also an occasional notation in certain songs when you're supposed to just wail on a note; you just have to strum a certain speed or above and hold the note. That was a nice touch and seemed somewhat realistic.

As far as the actual gameplay, you're really just playing sets of songs, there is no character creation or tour. Playing the basic songs was fine, but I found most of other things like avoiding "poison" notes or playing without the notes visible were much more frustrating than fun. So I found myself staying in quick play mode more than the career.

I played this game a few times but ultimately, like after playing Guitar Hero World Tour, went back to Rock Band 2. But if you don't pay much for it, it's worth it for an alternative take on a music game, and to play songs like Heart's "Magic Man."

When I saw the song list for this game, I figured, what the heck? How could it possibly be as bad as all the gamers claim? So I bought it, since it was only twenty bucks. I wish I had my twenty bucks back.

The game itself isn't that bad, but it is not even in the same zip code as the far superior Rock Band and Guitar Hero titles. Once you've gotten used to seeing the 3-D scrolling of the notes in RB and GH, the vertical scroll in Rock Revolution is a major downgrade. It is also much harder to get a feel for exactly when the notes should be strummed; I got used to the GH timing almost immediately, but this game was much more awkward (I'd swear I was hitting the notes in rhythm, but kept missing them).

Then there is the calibration. When I played my very first song, I noticed that there was at least a half-second lag time, and I had to strum the notes early or I'd miss them. After trying to calibrate the lag three times (a process which was in itself difficult), it was only slightly better, and there's nothing as freaking annoying as playing a game like this and missing notes you KNOW you hit.

Another feature that sounded like a good idea but ended up being nothing more than irritating was the "poisoned notes" sprinkled throughout each song. These are notes that are thrown at you along with the "real" notes, but they are hollow instead of colored. If you hit these "poisoned notes," you lose your score multiplier, and even worse, if you hit too many of them, the song ends immediately (like getting booed off the stage for missing too many notes). This sounded like a novel idea, but I found it very frustrating. I mean, the whole point of these types of games is to hit every note you see; imagine playing Space Invaders, but being penalized for shooting certain aliens. Not as cool in practice as in theory, in my opinion.

The final strike against the game was the fact that the awesome track list includes almost no original artists. While the cover bands do a more than capable job of performing the songs, it just isn't the same; very few people can accurately mimic the vocal stylings of legends like Geddy Lee and Bruce Dickinson, and it's largely their voices that make those songs rock as hard as they do. Kudos to the other games for realizing this and now having almost all original artists on their newest titles.

Overall, a very disappointing 2/5 stars from me. I only hope and pray that some of these songs may someday find their way onto the Guitar Hero set list. THAT would be worth a helluva lot more than twenty bucks.

Well ,this game arrived in the post yesterday,I had ordered this game before reading editorial reviews cos i was pretty sure it was gonna be an o.k game, and generally speaking it is.

The songlist consists of cover versions of some pretty decent songs and they are generally executed very well.

The vertical 2D guitar display isnt that difficult a hang of,and isn't that bad. There is a tutorial which helps u to get through the game and is pretty intuitive.

The graphix and animations are passable, but being the type of game it is ,its not that crucial to the gaming experience, what is , is the gameplay and here is where rock revolution can decide whether u love or hate it!

I personally first time played 2 hrs pretty much non stop and generally had no problem with the game, ther was the general overall feeling of playing a guitar ,being that alot of the songs consist of chords as opposed to notes , meaning that your sliding your fingers up and down the neck of the guitar quite alot, notes are more difficult to hit especially when they come in groups and and are moving pretty fast down the neck.

Difficulty levels are overall accurate , each song has its difficulty level as well ,so for example if you play a song with a low difficulty level ,it's still gonna be pretty easy to pull off even at the games medium difficulty level and obviously if you pick a song with a hard difficulty level its gonna be quite a challenge to pull off at the games medium difficulty level. Now this brings me on to the frustrating part of the gameplay , because of the aforementioned the chords and notes come down in way that makes it very difficult to play this is not entirely due to the games difficulty level , but more of a flaw in the games structure, this is not the case with all songs ,but there a afew that u feel just haven't been layed out right, but being this is konamis first attempt at this, we can cut them some slack and hope thta RR2 will correct these issues.

I was expecting a better game from Konami considering they had done "Guitar Freaks.Dance Dance revolution and Karoke revoltion". All in all it's not to bad definately worth a rental, and for some a purchase.

I bought this game by risk because there are some reviews with very low score to this game when compared to Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour.

Critics said it has only 40 cover songs, no singing part when compared to the other 2 games. But there is no problem because I bought this for playing drums and it is much cheaper. The best thing is I can use my compatible RB1 drumset to play with this game (the drumset does not work with RB2!).

Critics said its kick pedal notation is not compatible with other 2 games. Yes! In the first day when I played it, it is quite hard as I am used to see vertical bar as kick pedal. However, in the second day when I played it, I am already used to its kick pedal notation style.

What I like most is the Career mode. It has funny and challenging missions like avoiding the poison notes, complete a song in 3 difficult levels, the song speeds up when the multiplier increases, learn and play the song without markers, and play the songs without error. This provides much more fun than RB!

Though there is no gimmick features like choosing my own clothes, instruments, tattoos,..., it is a funny game to play if you already have a guitar or drumset and you want to play more songs and face some new challenges.

OK, I don't think this game merits spending even twenty on, but with its current wide availability for less than ten bucks shipped from a number of Marketplace sellers it's definitely worth a look. There are some nice variations (vertical scrolling, challenges, studio) for RB and GH veterans, and, although all songs are covers, after two hours of play I've discovered three songs unavailable elsewhere that alone may justify the price of admission:

Spirit Of Radio

White Room

Magic Man

I expect to find some others exclusive to this game also. A couple further notes: Calibrate your instruments! My system had massive lag with this game, whereas I play GH and RB with zero lag. Also, I don't believe you can do tour mode with bass only, which is a bit of a bummer for us bass fans. Oh yeah, sound fidelity is pretty awful. But still overall a good value or less than ten bucks. Charting is good, albeit easier than GH or even RB.
