Let me start out by saying that I am a HUGE NASCAR fan. I play NASCAR 09 a ton because it was the only NASCAR game available. After seeing all the videos and all the hype surrounding this game, so far it's been a bit of a disappointment. The game needs major patches to fix issues. If the game didnt have so many glitches and silly mistakes, it could easily be a 4 star rating or an 8/10. Below are the pro's and con's after playing the game for 3 hours. For every pro, their is a con and usually the con is greater.

Pros:

Paint booth: It's cool to fully paint and customize your car. It's almost identical to Forza's system.

Attention to detail: The in-car camera is awesome. You actually see your drivers feet hit the clutch or put his foot on the brake. Also will move his hands to shift. If you drive as Dale Jr you can see his driving gloves are black Adidas.

The pre race introduction is cool. Announcers talk about the track, fireworks go off, fly overs, etc..

The menu: I find this to be really cool. People walking around outside, your crew working on the car, and it's easy to navigate. When selecting tracks it shows like a pit pass with stats which is cool.

Gameplay: The cars are sensitive and don't require to much steering wheel input. Cars feel solid and drive like a 3,500lb+ car. Physics are pretty good.

Drafting: Finally other cars will work with you and push you

Pit stops: Animations are really cool. To see the lug nuts fall off and gas spill out is neat.

Setups: You can tune your car as much or as little as you like. Perfect for the simulation or arcade driver.

Pace car: Under caution its cool to see an actual pace car

Cons:

Paint booth: Making your own decals and stuff is cool, but the controls can be clunky. NASCAR 09 did it right by having an online feature and then import it to you game. Would be much easier to make cool designs instead of something a 2nd grader did with crayons.

Attention to detail: Things like the caution lights being on while the race is under green is silly. Also if you spin through the infield and end up on pit road you get black flagged for speeding.

Damage: Even after flipping over and hitting cars head on, my car looks like I hit a deer instead of another car at 190mph

Race modes: If you want to practice you have to go to a separate session from the main menu. No other cars are out there with you. If you choose to race, you get to qualify and then race. Can't even change your setup in between.

Hitting the wall is a joke. Your car basically just comes to a stop. You don't smash into it and then your car spins out of control. If you drive through the grass your car doesnt spin out.

Cautions: This is even more a joke. I spun out, 10 cars hit me, and no caution. I had to drive in reverse for about 10 seconds before it came out. If you spin by yourself it still wont come out even if you wreck hard.

No DNF's: You can destroy your car as much as you want, drive with full tape on the grille, and nothing happens. Maybe you lose a little performance but that's it.

Pit stops: It's great to have the animation but having to wait 10 seconds for it to load kinda kills it. Also if your under caution, the game should ask you what you want to adjust well before getting on pit road.

Online: One word....horrible. If you try to bump draft you wreck basically. And if the caution flag actually does come out, the crashed car has to sorta drive back to start finish line from this over head blimp camera. One time I just stared at a stopped car on the back stretch for 5 minutes. Then when we were about to start the race, cars started flipping and spinning. Online is useless until they fix it.

Career mode: It's basically just a season mode. Go to the race, race it, and move on. How come games like MLB 11 The Show can have ticket prices, free agents, stadium upgrades, trades, sponsors for the stadium, etc etc and we get a season mode? A real career mode would feature hiring a pit crew, buying a shop, building chassis for different tracks, hiring more drivers to make a full race car team (like Richard Childress Racing), engine shop and engine builders. When you race you should earn money and that money should be used to buy better crew chiefs, better products, larger shop building, bigger sponsors, higher expectations, etc etc. Have an off-season where you can test at tracks to improve your car and team or public events to gain fans and impress sponsors. A merchandise section where you can sell die-casts, memorabilia, shirts, etc etc to earn money and gain fame. Would be cool to start out as a rookie in a 1 car team and over a season or 2 be a major powerhouse and have a full 4 car team.

Wrong paint schemes: I know a patch is scheduled to update the roster and paint schemes, but seriously, why make a game with last years schemes and cars? It would be like MLB 11 The Show releasing the game with players on last years teams. Every sport releases their game around the start of the season with current rosters, NASCAR should too. Over the course of the season, have patches and downloads for new car skins or if drivers get dropped or a new driver starts.

Night races: Another head scratcher. I am racing at Charlotte and it's dusk the entire time. There are no day to night transitions. Either have the race in the day or at night, not in between.

HUD: I don't want to see how many experience points I am getting for "Dominating." I also don't want car radar which is a small icon at the bottom of your screen showing where cars are around you. Actually, this might be a PRO since you have no rear view mirror and can't tell where anyone is unless you look behind you which usually isnt a good idea while doing 180mph around a turn.

Spotter: It's great that he can inform me to drink tons of fluids cause its hot, but it sucks when he cant tell me there is a car low. As soon as a car comes low or high, spotter should tell you that. I don't care that I'm leading and can do this all day, I care if a car is coming up on me or I'm approaching lap traffic. Maybe he got himself a cold beverage and missed all the cars around me.

Difficulty: Even on VERY HARD the game isn't very hard. Very hard would be riding in 20th position fighting for 19th. Very hard is being at Daytona or Talladega and being stuck in middle of the pack cause there is no where to go all by yourself. I raced at Charlotte and after 10 laps I had almost a 3 second lead. Then all of a sudden by lap 13 the field was right behind me. If my tires went away in 10 laps or the AI just got amazing, that's pretty stupid.

As you can see, a lot of issues. For their 1st time out the game is playable, but only to a certain degree. If you want online, skip this game until a patch is released. I am going to stick to single player until the new car paint schemes come out and the game is fixed. I hope this helped.

Here's where I'm coming from. I got started on Papyrus sims on the PC 10-15 years ago. I went from those games to the EA Nascar games for X-Box but was really disappointed, particularly in the graphics, even after putting in some time on them. I didn't bother to even try the EA versions for the PS3. Today, prior to buying Nascar 2011, I've been driving F1 2007, Dirt2, and GT5 for the PS3. I love all three games and they have set the standard for my expectations. With this in mind, to sum up my thoughts on Nascar 2011 while it approaches (but doesn't meet) the standards set by the other three games, it blows away the EA games. I am glad I bought this game if anything else, to support a new developer in creating a good Nascar racing game again. It looks like this will be more of a process (with patches) than an event (with initial release).

I bought this game yesterday and put in about three hours with it last night, and raced in 17 different online races, trying out Martinsville, Daytona, Talladega, and Atlanta. Here is a list of Likes, Eh, and Dis-Likes:

Likes -

* Graphics (other than the resolution, see below) the immersion is good, I like the sense of speed, and I can pick out detail a good distance down the track, which helps in choosing a passing strategy, avoiding a wreck, etc. I caught myself getting tunnel vision on the racing line, and using my (virtual) peripheral vision for gauging where I was relative to the wall, the yellow line, other cars, etc.

* Spotter so far, so good. Yeah, the repetitive "you're clear" can get a little annoying, but when in traffic I relied entirely on the spotter's guidance and I thought it worked well

* Little details The bits of rubber building up on your windshield. Bumps in the track. Changing light conditions with shadows, reflections, the change in sound of the air as your car gets close to the wall, etc. I am sure I will notice more as I spend more time with the game.

* The Draft I like how the draft is portrayed with the option of having it visualized with "wingtip contrails" coming off the spoiler of the car in front of me. Looks cool caught myself watching the draft instead of watching my racing line. The feel of the draft seemed right to me as well.

* Two cockpit views one "to scale" and one "wide angle". I switched between both depending on whether I wanted to try to use my mirrors or not. I don't usually race any sim using the outside views.

* Ticker tape at the top of the HUD good for a quick glance to see time differences and closure rates between you and the car in front, and the car behind

* Damage model not bad, didn't experience it much, but did notice rubbing the wall a few times in one race was starting to really impact my top speeds on the super speedways

Eh -

* Force-feedback programming seems simpler than F1, GT5, or Dirt2. Granted, these other sims have different types of racing, but even Nascar driving in GT5 had more "feel" to it. I hope Eutechnyx improves this with a patch.

* Driving physics I thought the superspeedways were a little easy using the default setups, but not a big deal. The default setup for Martinsville had me suffering from push most of the time and running slower than the pack, which indicates I needed to do some work in the garage to tweak the car for my tastes. So this was a little more of a welcome challenge. I should mention that I turned off all driving aids for my entire session.

* 720p resolution as soon as I looked at the back of the box, I felt a twinge of disappointment. I really was hoping for 1080p, to rival GT5. I found that the more I played the game though, the less I cared about the lower resolution.

* Mirrors not a lot of help. They are available in one of the cockpit views. I haven't used the "radar" display yet as I mainly listen for guidance from the spotter.

* Customizing the controller buttons for different functions is clumsy. I hope they fix this with a patch.

* Experience points popping up based on game events kinda cool, but I will likely disable this function in the HUD

* Crashes believe it or not, I think they might be a little over-done here. It's a little hard to suspend disbelief during some of the wild rides (spinning like a top in the air, that kind of stuff)

Dislikes -

* Multiplayer bugs. Granted, this was the first night for the servers to go live, and I set my expectations low. Still, I felt like I was a beta tester for the online portion. There were long load times depending on the number of drivers. One session failed to load at all, and I had to reboot the PS3 to get out of it. Occasionally the other cars would disappear from the "map view" of the track. Other times just the proximity of a car (no contact) would lead to a bizarre crash. Still other times, if I was on the pole, my race would start but the other drivers were stuck at the starting line. Eutechnyx has some work to do here. Even after all this though I mean I raced 17 different rounds (at an average of 10 laps per race), and I had fun!

* Rolling start right before the green flag both online and offline races are too sloppy here

* Yellow flags, particularly in multiplayer inconsistent, and distracting with the cut scenes, pitting, etc. Some wrecks really should have had an immediate yellow, yet they didn't. I think if the settings for Yellow flags was more sensitive, online races would tend to be cleaner.

* You choose your car/driver at the beginning of the game, and then your stuck with that for the rest of your game-save! What if halfway through the actual 2011 Nascar season I decide I am not a Kurt Busch fan (for example)?? Am I stuck driving his car anyway in the game, or having to start over my online driver from zero experience?

A few things I've yet to try out Career mode, pitting during a race, in-depth car setup. Look to other reviews for opinions on these. Oh and I don't begrudge Eutechnyx for not reflecting the actual 2011 Nascar last minute details I mean if they update that with a patch, that's cool, but it doesn't detract from the game for me. I would like to see them use the new points system though.

In summary I am glad I bought it on opening day, bugs and all. I had a good time running multiplayer last night even with the bugs, and the time flew by. One sign of a good game is when you have to make yourself quit I kept thinking "ok, after this next race I'll quit and go to bed. Well, maybe one more... Ok, this time I really mean it, just one more..." If Eutechnyx is committed to working out the bugs in the online action and some of the game mechanics, then I am committed to supporting their establishment of a new Nascar racing franchise.

I think the game is great and I like it a lot, yes there is room for improvements too. compared to previous nascar games (I have), this one is a huge improvement.

Graphics: they are good, but I also own GT5 and if you compare it to GT5 you know it could be better.

Wheel: I use it with a Logitech wheel and the game gives you great feedback on the traction, loose (over steering) tight (under steering). in my mind I think it does a good job there and you can feel how much traction you have in the corners and if you will hit the wall or not.

when a yellow comes out it takes you to the video of the thing, I don't like that but is ok not a big deal.

I was going to give 4 starts but why not 5, I'm having fun with it.

* they said before releasing the game that there will be a free upgrade to change the game to the 2011 season and get the new track, don't think is out yet, waiting for it.

Thanks,

Okay so it doesn't have every little nitpick customization, but let me tell you what From a Dad with two kids, and barely enough time to even WATCH the races on TV, I'd rather spend my time RACING in the game, and not setting my car up.

I set the difficulty (which it remembers in my profile), I pick the track, and press "x" and next thing I know I'm at the back of the pack working my way up! Note: I don't even qualify or any of that. (which I could do if I wanted, but choose not to)

Racing on this game is configured to be about as "arcade pick-up game" -ish as possible and it succeeds amazingly well.

The one thing that drove me nuts in the beginning was that it was pretty hard to get used to everything, but now that I've logged a few (and by few I mean under ten since I got it) I'm more comfortable with the accel and brakes and have turned off the "throttle/brake control" button might not be a big deal to hardcore gamers, but it's a big deal for a game that is just meant to be played once in a while.

Score score score all around!!!

Graphics are great, sound is what you'd expect, and controls are spot on.

No complaints, even at full market price it's worth it if you've been waiting three years for a Nascar racer!

Enjoy it! (and stop whining)!!!

p.s. = for all you whine-babies complaining about it not being "sim-enough" how's this: I race with gas and tire wear OFF and my damage is purely COSMETIC! So how's that rub ya???? LOL Just hae fun with the darn thing!

If there were 3.5 stars, I would have a tough choice on what to rate it, so I gave it 4 stars. I can't believe people are giving it 1 and 2 stars, that's ridiculous. I am going to give a simple review by showing you the pros and cons of the game.

Pros:

-Graphics are very impressive, best on a NASCAR game yet.

-Sound is also commendable. Realistic engine sounds, announcers and spotters are solid.

-Online play is great and well put together. Seems as if everyone always races fairly, no glitches that I have seen thus far, and presentation is as good as it gets.

-Presentation offline is fantastic. If you race in a season, it's all there, pre raace introductions from the two announcers, the flyover, and it also shows the current points of each driver going down the rows of the starting grid. Menus are easy to navigate, options are good, driver selection is complete.

-Finally, paint schemes are included again.

-Bump drafting is here, which is good and bad. Sometimes other drivers would help me with a slight push, other times they bumped me out of the way nearly crashing me.

-Replay factor is great. I always want to play it for some reason or another. It will definitely hold fans over for the 2012 edition.

Cons:

-Feels too much like an arcade game for my taste, but as a seasoned veteran to these games since 2003, I found pleasure none the less. Wish they would have made it a bit more technical and less pick up and play. A solid effort, but I hope to see a change next year.

-Based on 2010 season, we will have to wait for a DLC update for new schedule and drivers.

-Load times are sometimes annoying and longer than you would expect.

-Experienced a few minor glitches with online play, but nothing serious.

-Caution flag only waves for major accidents, if you spin out you basically don't have a chance of catching back up.

-Currently waiting for patches to fix all the above issues. One has already came, waiting for the 2nd one.

We shouldn't bash the game. It's Eutechnyx's first try at a NASCAR game and if you ask me, it's a heck of a lot better than EA's past few attempts. It is a very solid package. There are glitches, yes, but overall, it is a must-own for fans of the sports, such as myself. Days are gone where we once had PERFECT Nascar games such as Thunder 2003 and 2004, so get used to not seeing those any time soon. EA really disappointed me with 2005 through 2009, making sub par, boring, unplayable Nascar games, but hopefully Eutechnyx can save the genre. I'm sure anyone would agree with me when I say the best ones were 2003 and 2004. Easily. If there was a PERFECT Nascar game, it would have the depth and presentation of Thunder 2004, the gameplay and finesse of Thunder 2003, and the graphics and online play of the current 2011. So we still wait for the PERFECT Nascar game. In the mean time, pick this one up, you will not regret it. NASCAR the Game 2011 will definitely feed your hunger for the spectacle that is NASCAR racing.

I've been playing the tiger woods series with the ps3 move, and while it's fun, the move by itself lacks a bit of finesse due to its size and weight for a golf game.

This item has improved my game and added some realism to the game in terms of swing and control.

The club head helps with aim. Use a ball on the floor and it works well. But it's not long enough to actually hit it

It's adjustable in length, and works for right or left handers.

It's not perfect. The club head could be a bit heavier to aid the swing momentum. The trigger hole needed some minor adjustment with a knife as it was causing the button to stick a bit.

The move snaps in and feels secure, but the shell does add a bit more to the thickness of the move, which is already fat for a golf grip. But it won't go flying off. Reasonably sturdy, but younger kids could eventually abuse it.

All in all it's a very good value at a reasonable price.

It isn't the best of quality of controller, but at least it works. It seems to be made somewhat cheaply and does not work as well as the wireless default controller you would get with your system. At best it makes a back-up or if you do not have enough money to get a wireless, this one will do in the meantime.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

After reading other reviews I knew I was taking a chance on this, but the price was cheap. I expected the product to be cheap as well, and it is, but I didn't expect to have buttons reversed. I am using this controller on a PS3 and the L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons were reversed, so that pressing L1 gave me the L2 action instead (and same for the right). It would be usable this way, but frustrating. The box advertises that it is a "universal" controller that you could use on your PC, in which case reversing the buttons shouldn't be an issue because you can completely reprogram the controls of most PC games (but I doubt many PC gamers -which I primarily am -want to give up their keyboard and mouse for a console controller -I most certainly would not, especially not a cheap one like this).

I decided to open it up instead of return it, assuming it would be pretty simple to fix the problem. It is a simple fix if you don't mind doing a little soldering (and I'm no expert at soldering, but if you don't know what "soldering" is then forget about it): just unsolder a 3-wire cable, reverse it, and solder it back on (repeat for the other side). I only have a sample size of 1 and there weren't many product reviews when I purchased it, so I don't know if this is a common problem or just a quality control goof-up on some.

Aside from the button reversal, it pretty much works as expected. Note, however, that the L2 and R2 buttons are NOT analog. The two joysticks are, but the trigger buttons are not. And there is no motion controller (it's a fouraxis) or vibration, but I think the product description clearly stated that. Also, the "home" button on this controller does not act like the standard "PS" button at all, but this seems to be a common problem with third-party PS3 controllers. Instead, the "home" button, at least on the PS3, acts as a mode switch, causing the two joysticks to act either as analog joysticks (normal), or to duplicate the functionality of the d-pad and the buttons (I have no idea why anyone would want to do this, but it seems to be the default mode when I hook up the controller). The LED lights that should indicate the controller number are also useless. They seem to act as a mode indicator (the mode set by the "home" button), with 1 and 2 lit up for the weird default mode, and 3 and 4 lit up for the normal analog joystick mode.

The controls all feel more stiff than the stock controller except for the buttons (triangle, circle, x, square) which feel chincey. The analog sticks don't have as full a range of motion as the stock controller, and the L3/R3 buttons (pushing down on the analog sticks) is difficult, especially when the sticks are not in their center position.

Definitely not usable as a primary controller (the primary controller needs a working "PS" button and should have motion control) and I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time playing games with this as a second-player controller (especially if I hadn't fixed the button reversal problem). I got it so that I could pull multiple characters into my games to trade items (in which case I hardly use the second controller) and for my 4-year-old son to play some games with me (most of which can get by with the d-pad and 4 buttons), so it works for me. I just wanted something really cheap.

As of the latest code update to the PS3, this adapter can now write out to a PS2 memory card, as well as read from one (which was all it could do before). A previously lame product now, officially, rocks.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

If you are getting your hands on a PlayStation 3 and have any PS2 games that you used to play on a PlayStation 2, then it is really important to get your hands on this memory card adaptor.

In essence the memory card adaptor is a little box that you can put your PS2 memory card into. A cable then plugs into the PS3's USB port. This is the only way to get the save games from your PS2 into your PS3 so you can then use them with your PS2 games.

Almost every PS3 owner I have spoken with owns a PS2 and many PS2 games. They intend to keep playing those PS2 games on the PS3. This is especially true with epic PS2 games like Final Fantasy XII. There's no reason to start again from scratch! The memory card adaptor is rather cheap, and saves you weeks if not months of play time.

The act of moving save games is really very easy. Simply put your PS2 memory card into the small unit. On the PS3 console, select the card. It asks you to give a name to the "storage area" on your PS3's hard drive. For my 8 memory cards, I just named those storage areas CARD1 CARD8, so that they matched up with the cards. Then you hit a button, and wait about 2 minutes while the files are moved.

Once they're on your PS3's hard drive, you're all set! You can view the save games, delete the ones you don't want any more, and use them to play with.

Definitely a must-have for a PS3 owner who has any PS2 memory cards lying around or who has friends who might visit with PS2 games and cards. Sure, the PS3 games are great but there are a TON of PS2 games out there that are a lot of fun, too. This little device lets you take advantage of all that time you've already invested in the game.

It does exactly what it claims to, copy your PS1 and PS2 memory card files over to your PS3. It's only useful if your PS3 is backwards compatible ie. the 80 GB or 60 GB versions. And even then, you only need to use it once. I recommend getting it used since I'm sure the seller will have only used it once and it will still be in perfect condition.

Maybe I didn't read the description properly but in the picture it looks like you just plug it straight into your PS3 but in actual fact you also need to buy the connecting lead. Other than that it works fine.

If you want to transfer your PS2 game saves to your new PS3 you need this card. The latest PS3 software update has nothing to do with file transfer. You can write data to the card which can come in handy if your traveling.

Pros:

Graphics are great. Dunk packages and shot forms are on point. Online gameplay is pretty good.

Cons:

Glitches. Players' hands go through basketball and no block or a random foul is called. The worst bench players hit buzzer beaters on great defenders such as LeBron. Alley oops in traffic are fake. Players' attempt to steal or block an alley oop is lazy even if you're Dwight Howard, he makes no attempt and barely jumps. Computer players watch the rebound and don't make an attempt to get it. Little players like Nate Robinson cause Roy Hibbert to flop and get the and 1 foul call. Why are 7 footers flopping and getting dunked on so easily?

It's still fun just can't wait to see if Nba 2k14 fixes these issues that have been in the game for many years.

After a couple of disappointments in the series, I bought this Spyro game for my daughter in the hopes that it would get a new look on the PS3. It most definitely does, with not only gorgeous visuals and breathtaking locations, but a surprisingly different take on the interface: this game has the same mechanics as the God of War series. You have light and heavy attacks, combos that involve simple button-press sequences, and a "level-up" capability that involves collecting special crystals and then choosing which abilities to funnel them into. The buttons even map exactly the same. I played this for a bit with my daughter, then out of curiosity I switched over to God of War when she was out of the room, and it felt pretty much the same--the flight mechanic even resembles God of War's "Icarus Wings".

Unfortunately, this new interface won't resonate with everyone who is a fan of the Spyro games. For example, camera control isn't always 100%--sometimes it's taken out of your hands. I'm used to the God of War series having none at all, so I don't find this as jarring in this title as others might. Not every special ability or chaining action is simple to pull off--but believe me, any 10-year-old will pick this up fairly quickly. The new "grab" mechanic that lets you seize hold of your opponents is surprisingly easy to do, but requires you to make some decisions in the middle of a pitched battle--there's a time when grabbing is a good idea, and a time when it's a bad idea. Flying is extremely fun, but not always perfect: there are times when the wind direction (which you can see) will limit your actions. You have to follow the lines that show you the direction of the air flow, so this won't be easy for the under-10 set. In fact, I almost think the "ages 10 and up" rating is more for a child's capability of understanding the game than it may be about the content.

Here's what makes Dawn of the Dragon tons of fun, though: it has sharing loosely coupled to the story. Gameplay is like a "prison escape" movie cliche--you have two heroes, and they're tied together. They have to work together to get through the story (often referred to in gamer circles as "two-player co-op"). Thankfully the magical "tether" tying Spyro to Cinder is a pretty long one, letting you rather freely move about. The game sticks two dragons together and not only lets a single player jump on-the-fly from one to the other, it also lets you switch in and out of two-player mode with a couple of button-taps. If a sibling wants to join in on the fun, they can take the reins of one of the two dragons. If they get bored and want to stop playing, just pause the game and select "one player" again and the game will resume exactly where it left off. Kids can share together without having to start over, reload, or commit to both of them finishing the level. Dawn of the Dragon also adds some fun for girls: while the previous Spyro entries have been boy-oriented, my daughter was thrilled at the chance to play Cinder, the girl dragon. Her abilities are different (and just as important) and she even seems to be a bit better at flying.

That said, the Spyro series doesn't just have kids in its fan base--there are "elite bosses" and hidden secrets that are more for an adult player looking to get the most out of their gaming experience. There are character cutscenes with a longer story and dialogue, and you may be surprised to know that some top-drawer talent lend their voices to the series: Elijah Wood (as Spyro) and Gary Oldman (as Ignitus). The elite bosses and secrets are optional parts of the game, and it may take some explaining to younger players that certain bad guys don't have to be defeated: they can be skipped. I'd recommend skipping them the first time through because the two that we've uncovered so far have turned out to be impossibly hard to battle. If you want to cut down on frustration, don't try to level every skill to the top, and definitely steer clear of the Elites.

If you have children who enjoy the Spyro series, chances are they will find this one fun, but they'll need to understand that it's not exactly the same as the rest of the series. They should also play it all the way through once before trying to master it all and beat the Elites. Consider it more for ages 8 and older, with 10 and up getting the most out of it. If you're an adult who likes the Spyro series and also enjoys God of War style games (like Heavenly Sword and Dante's Inferno), then there's a good chance you'll enjoy this makeover just as much as the younger fans will.

Good Fun & Entertainment from an Old Friend!

I remember Spyro from the late 90's when he made his debut on the PS1. Here we are ten years later and he is still going strong. Yes, the last few Spyro titles have been a disappointment, but for some reason Activision did it right and churned out a great game. I have to admit that since Spyro landed on the PS2 and the Gamecube including the Wii that the games have been a bit of a let down. The games were still playable, but missing that certain something quality that made the original first three games so much fun. The magic from the original creators had faded away.

Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon is probably one of the most beautiful Spyro games to date. It's simply gorgeous. This is also the first time that Spyro can fly in a game. I think the Spyro the character has really matured a bit and there is a certain grown up element to this game.

I wouldn't call it a boss battle, but one of the big monsters in the first level is a bit on the scary side and the way the game plays reminded me a little of God of War. I would say this game isn't complete 3D like Mario. Spyro is restricted to what is visible on screen and the 2nd analog stick doesn't function the way I would like it to. The second analog stick has always been used to rotate the camera angle around the screen 360 degrees, but because of the fact you are restricted to semi 2D/3D layout that one can only move the camera to what the game lets the player see, so its pretty much a 180 degree turn. I didn't find this to be a BIG problem, but it was a bit annoying at times.

Other then that small annoyance i actually found the game to be quite entertaining. It brings back some of the magic from the original Spyro games that were lacking on his PS2 days. This is definitely a title you want to add to your library and its hours of fun with a familiar face.

This is my second Spyro game and I really like this one. Here's why:

-The graphics are absolutely beautiful. In Avalar Valley, when Spyro and Cynder are free-flying around, you can see individual blades of grass, each leaf on the trees, and there is so much color! The environments are very passionate and have a mood that relates very closely to the storyline.

-The breaths are powerful and vivid. Spyro's fire breath lights up the whole screen! They have an instant effect on enemies and are very gratifying to use.

-Medium difficulty level. I am currently playing this with my seven-year-old sister and we both have no problem getting through puzzles and fighting enemies. I have definitely played easier games, but this was not the hardest. I've only died twice and I am halfway through the game. Contrary to earlier reviews, jumps don't have to be perfect; there is some margin for error.

-Runs smoothly. This game never gets choppy and I have yet to see a glitch (and I'm halfway through!). When Spyro and Cynder are flying and one wheels about, the camera moves without any hiccups. This makes the experience feel more lifelike and immersive.

The problems I have with this game include the following:

-The camera constantly drives me insane! Pushing really hard on the right analog stick makes the camera drift only a very small amount. This seems confining, especially in a game with such rich environments, puzzles, and intense combat.

-May be hard for some players. Some parts can be a bit confusing, and combat can drain life quickly, but this isn't a problem if you have some time and patience! Finding all the health and magic upgrades is constantly irking me as I can't seem to find any! The armor is a nice touch, and looks pretty cool, but finding all of it could be difficult.

OVERALL, this is a wonderfully made game with few hiccups and many hours of deep, bright, colorful gameplay that involves puzzle, platforming, and fighting elements. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who has some money to spend and a few hours to play!

My son loves this series. It is vastly superior to the previous release, being more intense and heavy in graphics. The story line is a bit more complex, as well.

The game is somewhat confusing when I get to certain levels. But I will manage to get thru. I just put it away in cabinet until I have more patience to deal with it.

It works great, only gripe I have is that the battery does not last long. I have to recharge after about and hour and a half of gaming.

after we got it set up, it works great! seems to be very sensitive to picking up the sounds for the mic part and earphone seems to be loud and clear. it's very light weight and plastic but it's nice for those long playing sessions. very happy indeed!

*** edited 8/25/13 *** just last week while putting it on the ear piece broke =( it DOES still work, just minus the ear piece and so the item itself then becomes non-functional. We just cheat and wear a large pair of headphones with the cupped ear pieces and stick it in there and use it anyway LOL but we're cheap like that!

This dongle works perfectly with my Logitech Harmony remotes (One and 650). You just have to make sure it's set up correctly.

Step 1: Create the device as a DVD player, model Sony BDP-S350

Step 2: By default, some of the buttons will NOT be set up correctly. Use the chart below to see which Dualshock3 button corresponds with which button on your "BDP-S350" device. Then you can use that info to configure the buttons on the Logitech remote (Exit, Stop, Play, etc)

I tried this item, but like others experienced it doesn't work. Don't waste your time like I did.

I can't understand why some company doesn't produce a product like this one in order to fill the need.

I'm certain there are many many who would like to access their PS3 with there Universal IR remote. Oh and by the way, there are Universal IR remotes that are not overpriced like Harmony and work just fine, like mine.

Sony really fouled up with the bluetooth remote, and this failed attempt is proof positive....or negative depending on how your looking at it. Avoid.

Didn't work according to the instructions and no one in support got back to me. Wouldn't recommend this one; disappointed.

somehow Sony does not have Infra Red remote functionality in PS3, they just have Bluetooth. because of that my universal remote does not work with PS3. and I have to handle multiple remote. this is just frustrating to handle multiple remote. and even worst Sony tablet which claims to provide universal remote functionality, does not work with PS3. sony's its own universal remote does not work with their own product, shame on Sony.

Thanks to this product enabled my universal remote to work with PS3 as well. all I need to do is insert this into PS3 USB port and enter sony dvd player code into my universal remote and it started working right away.

Hi,

First i have 5 Harmony remotes, as many systems, including a separates dedicated projector home theater i installed myself.

This product does absolutely nothing, not even basic BD/DVD controls.

PS3 cannot be powered up by USB, as USB ports are off during sleep, does not accept HDMI-CEC or RIHD commands from Onkyo/Integras, so the only solution in an IR to BD converter with the 51 commands specific to PS3. The problem is transcoding, a simple IR to BD converter won't work as the IR codes will come out scrambled, so here is a solution that works with programmed in codes, the "Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3". Works like a charm for me.

Playseat Seat Slider Kit

No instructions come in this kit other than a sticker on each side that states: "Srew (sic) this side to seat with this end facing front" Like others have stated it is not all that apparent which way the Allen Screws face. With that said, it is only the total lack of instructions that keep this from being a 5 star product. It works as well as any car seat slider.

Here are some handy tips for install:

1) remove the seat via the 4 Allen screws (careful it will want to tip back when the last screw is removed)& place it up-side-down over the edge of your couch. (read step 10 now... I didn't, but you may want to...)

2) Push an allen screw in the end so that the threads hang over the elongated hole nearest the sticker end (front). The screw will not fall into place nicely, but if you just poke at it from the other elongated hole above it, it easily falls into place.

3) Put your Allen wrench in the screw to hold it in place as you line it up over the front seat hole. The metal tabs that hold the release bar should stick in toward the center of the seat, not out toward the sides, and if you can still read the sticker you have it up-side-down. The sticker should be facing the seat bottom.)

4) Screw it in only 1/2 way & then repeat the procedure for the other side. Tighten all screws after all are in place.

5) The release bar is held in place by it's own spring tension so all you have to do is line up a hole near the bar end to the single pin shaped metal tab and then compress it enough to fit the other hole over the tab on the other side, but be careful for 2 reasons... First, make sure you attach the release bar such that the bend tips down away from the seat bottom and not up towards it. (This gives you as much space as possible between the seat bottom and the release bar.) !!!AND SECOND...!!! It is very "springy", so try not to let it pinch your fingers!!! The bar should now be resting firmly between the double tabs and the single tab through the hole.

6) (Greasy Finger Warning) Before trying to attach the seat to the base see if you can use the release and move the slider rail forward a few inches, thus exposing the two front elongated holes. This may take 2 persons if it is a tight fit, but mine moved rather easily. Try to get both rails extended the same distance.

7) With the holes exposed you should be able to easily place the seat onto the base and drop an allen screw in each side. Place a nut on the bottom and tighten.

8) Now carefully slide the seat forward enough to expose the back 2 elongated holes and repeat the process.

9) I suggest moving the seat back to the center position (no rail sticking out either forward or back) and fit it to your body by moving the playseat's original adjustment (the main tube tightener) into your comfortable "playing" position. If many persons will be using it fit it to a middle sized person.

10) Why no locking washers? I don't know, but you could add them yourself or tighten the screws periodically. Happy Racing!

Pros:

Does exactly what it claimsmakes it easy to slide chair forwards and back to allow for friends/guests to use the seat. To use it, you sit on the seat, pull up on the handle and slide the seat forward and back.

Cons:

No instructions apart from the white stickers attached to the unit. So it is a bit of a brain teaser to assemble.

A previous reviewer provided an excellent set of detailed instructions for the assembly. It was a bit difficult to visualize the overall process, so I am supplementing that with the following less detailed overview of the main steps. Also I uploaded some pictures I took of the process of assembly as well as an assembly diagramHope this helps.

Overall steps then are:

1. Remove seat from metal base of Playseat.

2. Attach slider bars to bottom of seat. The labeled side should face the bottom of the seat and the arrow on the label should point toward the front of the seat.

3. Attach the handle bar. This takes some muscle doing. When attaching the handle bar, make sure it is angled downward relative to the seat, rather than upward or else you won't have enough clearance to pull up on the handle when you are finally sitting on it. See diagram.

4. Attach seat to the metal base of the playseat. This is trickiest and it will be easier if you had an extra hand to depress the handle bar when you are putting in the screws because you are going to need to slide the bars in and out to insert the screws. This is where you should read the former reviewers instructions for additional details. This is probably the least intuitive part of the assembly.

Additional tips: ignore the circular holes on the slider. You will only use the elongated holes.

When I got the Playseat I ordered all the accessory that appeared to make sense. Being able to slide the seat back and forth sounds like a cool thing.

Unfortunately the quality is pretty low. One side works, the other side is locked and only glides when using excessive force. My kids can't use it without me and even I have trouble getting it to work.

It also comes without instructions whatsoever. It's not a huge deal, I figured it out in 2 minutes but many will have trouble. The actual installation is not as easy at it seems, kind of tricky to get the screws in place.

But most of all it is not a necessary thing to have. The Playseat is designed to be very easily adjustable so the sliding seat doesn't really add anything. In reality you will have to adjust the pedals and wheel base anyways to make it work for a child.

Maybe I have a bad unit, but it's too much hassle for me to unmount it and pay for the shipping back to get a replacement which will cause even more time to get it in again. Either way, you really don't need it, it works just fine without it and even my 7 year old can use the seat without this slider.

As others said, it comes with no instructions. Thanks to those provided instructions, and greater thanks to the person uploading the screw/nut diagram.

It works exactly like what you have in a non-powered manual slider in cars. If you are using for yourself, then you don't need this. But if have others trying it out, then you need it. Combine it with the standard adjustments on my Playseats Evolution, I can let me 6 year old boy who's 42 inch tall to reach the pedal!

Want Playseat Seat Slider Kit Discount?

If you have multiple players (kids and adults) playing on your playseat, this is a must have so that you don't have to change the settings for the pedals every time. We can set the seat for 7 years old kids up to 6"1 adults, so that's a pretty good range.

Mounting is a little bit annoying but straightforward (no instructions).
