Especially if you have the Backwards Compatible PS3, this cord makes it very simple to expand your PS3's capabilities using the stuff you already have leftover from when you had a PS2. I even had a Multitap I had purchased back in '01 (to play Twisted Metal: Black) connected to this converter, then attached three PS2 controllers in the slots of the multitap, eliminating the need to ever have to use more than one of these things. For only a few bucks, it's definitely worth it. Even if you don't have PS2 controllers already, you can get at least 3 of them (new or used) for around the price of one PS3 controller here on Amazon. The PS2 controller works fine even with most PS3 games (excluding, of course, those that require six-axis and other motion functions). I did, however, have trouble when trying to use a mix of 2 (PS2 & PS3) controllers each. You have to use the PS3 ones to "Reassign Controller slots" and move them around first to do that. Hope this helps!

I took a look at a bunch of third party controllers and I must say I think this was the best one out there. Almost exactly the same as the original controllers and at a quarter of the price. I bought 4 of these and they all work pretty nicely.

Does funny thing. When I have it charging and I turn off my ps3 the controller will turn it back on and some of the buttons I have to push hard for them to work.

It's a good replacement other than the fact it has no rumble like promised. Arrived on time and works great.

Flaws include battery does not last long and the left analog stick goes different directions.

The delivery was a little long and the days get longer when you only have one controller with two people but overall the controller works fine however, it takes longer to connect with the ps3 than the original controllers do. The red finish is a little brighter IRL than the picture shows but I was pleased with the price.

This combo pack is amazing, this Includes Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Greatest Hits and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition which includes free dlcs and a metallic blue DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller. The Dual Pack and PS3 controller alone are around $40 each.

I'm not fan of shooters but I wanted to play through the first two Uncharted games before I consider buying Uncharted 3. I played through Uncharted 1 when it released in 2007 the graphics where stunning and still are to date. The gameplay and story are simply amazing.Uncharted 2 improves everything from the 1st uncharted. The graphics are absolutely jaw dropping the gameplay is intense and fast paced. I don't like competitive multiplayer games but I found Uncharted 2 multiplayer very addictive it has all the game modes that most shooters have but with an uncharted twist and gameplay. There is also some co-op modes which you can play some co-op levels and Survival mode.

The controller it comes with is a standard DS3 controller except its blue with great rumble and almost completely useless Sixaxis. It does not come with a usb cord for charging

Overall it is a great value if you need an extra controller and Uncharted series alone has won a ton of Game of the Year Awards so far the only flaws are very minor in my opinion. both games are short 10 hours and no usb cable, however usb cables are very cheap and both games for the experience and unlockable content are worth multiple playthroughs and Uncharted 2 multiplayer will increase longevity.

There is no DLC on the disc itself, all DLC is accessible through a code that comes with the game. All of the codes for Uncharted 2: Game of the Year Edition expired in 2010. In other words, this product NO LONGER EXISTS as advertised. It is simply the standard Uncharted 2 in a different case now. Please be forewarned.

I have also contacted a Sony representitive and there's no way they could extend the expiration date or offer any terms of credit to purchase the DLC.

Sony and Naughtydogs, I'm truly disappointed in you guys for having an expiration date on your exclusive games. I'm a big fan of your products, but in the future, you guys need to put an expiration date or a warning about these vouchers.

Excellent combo pack. Both games are awesome. Uncharted 1 and 2 are one of the bests games ever, great graphics, great gameplay and great story. Better you play those before playing uncharted 3.

Also the metallic blue controller is very nice, and makes the combo pack an excellent option for ps3 new customers.

As a starter, I would like to say that I have had my PS3 for over a year and this is my first time getting an Uncharted game. The games are very fun, and even though they were released in 2007 and 2008, they still have good graphics compared to some of the newer PS3 games. Drake's Fortune doesn't have online multiplayer which may be a negative for some, but if you have played Uncharted before, you know that you buy the games for the storymode, not online. You also get a blue controller which is great because now I can play Modern Warfare 3 with my friends. However neither Uncharted games support split screen play, so in one way it is silly that the Uncharted combo pack is paired with an extra controller. That doesn't affect me though, because like I said, I already have a split screen game so that I can play with my friends. Just like the box says, it is a $34 value which is great because I have yet to see either of these products at a great discount separately. The only thing that I was disappointed with is that the bundle is a North American product which means that both the box and the games have both English and French writing on them instead of the usual United States English only format. So, if you like adventure games and need another controller; don't hesitate and buy this bundle before it is sold out!

The games came in separate cases, which I find nice. The Uncharted Super Voucher says that it expired 05/09/2012, but still worked on 05/09/2013. Just followed the instruction printed on the card, which was inside Uncharted 2.

The controller came in sleeve. It is a shiny metallic blue, not the "blue" controller available at retail.

Summary:

I have the first two Naruto's and as a big fan of the anime/manga I was eagerly awaiting the next release. Unfortunately, it is not all that I have come to expect in the series. The one thing that I enjoyed from the previous games was that it was a "free roaming" game that allowed you to explore the towns and areas while revisiting the epic battles from the anime. The new edition strays from that formula and has you select from a set number of characters in order to view his/her back story.

Upon selecting a character this is what happens.

You see a few few cut scenes... then a fight. . . then more cut scenes to summarize the anime. . . then another fight. This is repeated until you complete the chosen character's story, where you see a video that is basically taken from the anime. In my opinion, the cut scenes fall short of conveying the epic story line of the anime.

Personally, the game gets very repetitive and for a person who already knows the anime I find the recap to be unnecessary. The free roaming to me is what made the game fun because it allowed for breaks between each battle, plus you get to "experience" the Naruto World.

Recommendation:

If you do not own the first two games or are new to the series feel free to pick up this one up. It has the largest set of characters for you to be able to use, but I would get the first two games because they are more fun overall.

For all others I would hold off until the price drops some or rent the game.

Other Note Worthy Changes:

The battle mechanics does follow the same as the previous installments. . . it is pretty fast pace but now instead of being able to substitute you have a meter that only allows up to 4 consecutive substitutions until the meter replenishes. Meaning the AI tends to just run away when their meter runs out or performs a 20 plus hit combo on you where you can only watch the beating.

For all the battles, they got rid of what I call the "face off battles" where you had to hit a series of buttons to perform an attack/action. I missed that especially in some of the more memorable battles. Example the fight between Sasuke and Danzo would have been awesome to see Sasuke shut each eye (after a series of button presses), but the fight between each is just a basic battle that you could have performed in free battle.

I really hope this installment is just to hold fans/non-fans over until the next full installment, where you can explore the several new towns/areas that the manga has shown.

After playing Naruto Shippuden Ninja Storm 2 in one and half years ago, I was excited about this new installment from the series, but it ended up with disappointment. It is still a fine fighting game. However, this is way beyond my expectations.

Story

=====

The story is based on the manga / anime from Naruto Shippuden. Story mode is divided into 11 tales, which are inserted with slides, videos to present the story-line in a brief and simple style. Not much to complain if gamers are a fan of the Naruto series but new-comers may be lost with the lack of details. Free-roaming, quick-time events in boss fights from last title are taken out completely in the story mode, which is a huge disappointment.

Gameplay

========

Gameplay has been improved since the last title. Graphics are more about the same as Ninja Storm 2 but control has been better, especially the use of substitute tools. There are more than 70 characters to choose from. Command list is always simple and easy to pick up.

Other than story mode, there are free battle, survival mode, tournament, slightly improved online mode to choose from and extend your playing hours.

Verdict

=======

Naruto Shippuden USG is a average fighting game but I expected something more. It even takes a few steps backward from Ninja Storm 2.

Well, because of my love towards Naruto, this game keeps me hooked on. Amazing cut scenes from the anime, the incredible number of playable characters and much more. I love this game and recommend it to everyone who loves Naruto, because this is the game, which you'll have fun with for a very long time, Long live Naruto, long live storm series !!!

If you followed any of the pre release information on this game then it was already known that this game was created for multiplayer combat experience. The only reason why the free roam component was left out is because they covered all Shippuden in UNS2. If you follow the anime series you would know that UNS2 holds about 2-4 years of content from the show. The only way for we couldve got free roam on this game wouldve been if they just covered content that we already own or to create a completely different story that currently exsist, which wouldve been weird. At the point where UNS2 ends to now has only been about a year and thats with giving fans months and months of filler due to the fact that the anime and the manga are too close to generate episodes regularly. As of this week they are about to start another filler campaign on the show so thats why its not a free roam game. But thats the free roam explanation.

The multiplayer aspect of this game is great, that is if you liked the combat system from the last game. They have made only one change in combat that I can see and thats in the subsitution jutsu. Now you get four substitutions after that you have to dodge and run unless you stand a 20 hit combo to your life meter. I like it because I found it very difficult to pull off the sub jutsu in UNS2. Story aside the multiplayer gives you access to over 70 playable characters, which IMO is unreal! Its true that some of the charcters are very similar to other characters on the roster but getting characters like the Masked Man, who is the real Tobi, is enough for me because I hated Tobi until he awakened. You also get tournament mode which allows up 8 player VS in one room which is great. My Biggest and only gripe about this game is when your connecting to match. You can tell within the first ten seconds if your going to get into a game or not but somehow you game cant tell. Ive waited up to four minutes for the game to tell me I can get into a match, which is unaceptable. They had the same problem in UNS2. They need to fix that Ive taken the game out a couple of times because of waiting I.. Hate.. That so much!

Over all I think its a great game. If you want to play with almost every charcter from this series in one game this is definitely for you. If thats overrated to you can most certainly wait 2-3 years for them to have enough content to make a free roam game. If you like playing against friends and players online And a 70+ roster And the chance to slap up the young annoying Naruto with older-cooler Naruto this game is a must have.

There are plenty of reviews on the actual game which is absolutely amazing. My review is about what you get in the collector's edition specifically and what you're getting for the extra $20. The collector's edition is really just the regular game in a nicer looking metal case, DLC content, and some physical extras thrown in. I'll go through the physical extras first. The exclusive "lithograph" of the Normandy is pretty small (4 by 6 inches) and of pretty poor quality in my opinion. I honestly think you could probably get a high resolution image of the Normandy online, download it onto a flash drive, take it in for photo development, and get something nicer. The stock of the paper used is notable poor and pretty pathetic for something that claims to be a lithograph. The exclusive "N7" patch you get isn't like normal patches that you have to sew on. It pretty much looks and feels like a velcro patch that you can slap on to something velcro would stick to. The quality and finish of the artwork on the patch is pretty solid though. The tin that you get the game in is nice looking and is fairly detailed in the prints of both male Shepard and female Shepard on either side of the case (male on the front, female on the back). Though I imagine for most people they won't be looking at it anytime soon since the mass effect 3 disc will be inside their xbox/ps3/pc for a while. The exclusive hardcover art book is pretty nice as well, though really it's just a miniature version of the larger "Art of the Mass Effect Universe" book that you can get from bookstores or Amazon today. Still it's a nice edition that adds a little extra if you like looking through concept art behind the Mass Effect universe. It doesn't really have anything more or less than what you've seen from other game art books. The comic book is also kind of a nice throw in, and is listed as "limited edition," though I have a feeling that the "limited" part comes in because it's got unique cover art work and not because the comic itself is limited. Also of note the physical disc you get also has "Collector's Edition" text stamped on it, to make you feel extra special. That about wraps up what you get in terms of physical goodies.

Now what you're really buying with the collector's edition is extra DLC content. The Xbox version gets a Normandy Xbox Live prop that you can put along with your avatar. All versions get the N7 Arsenal Pack, which gets you 4 unique weapons, alternate costumes for squad-members Liara, Ashley, Kaidan, and James, an extra casual outfit hoodie for Shepard to wear on the ship, and a robotic dog. The weapons I have mixed opinions on because they are heavier than other default guns you can get, and in Mass Effect 3 carrying heavier guns means your powers recharge slower. They're decently powerful, and the N7 Eagle pistol in particular is pretty cool because it's actually a full-auto pistol unlike all the other pistols, but they are far from being the best in their class IMO. Unlike in Mass Effect 2 however the alternate costumes for your squad-mates are actually useful because they give them different bonuses. For example one costume might give a 25% faster recharge time, and another one a 25% weapons damage boost, etc. The hoodie is pretty much just a N7 hoodie that Shepard gets to wear while walking around casually, not much else I can say about it. The robotic dog I thought would be more interactive but he pretty much just wanders around in the lowest level of the ship not doing much. Maybe I haven't really played around to see what else he can do yet, but so far he's just been doing his own thing. The other big thing you get is the first Mass Effect 3 DLC "From Ashes," which includes extra missions, a new gun, and a extra squad-mate. I haven't really done this mission and found this extra squad-mate yet to give details, but considering Mass Effect 3 already has a smaller roster of squad-mates available I'd say it's a pretty solid extra to get with your Collector's edition. You also get a Mass Effect soundtrack, but it's given via a reedemable code that you have to use on the main bioware website and not on a physical disc. The quality of the tracks sounds pretty good from my laptop speakers, though I haven't been able to check the bitrate etc. on them or listen to them over my good earphones yet. The final thing you get are some additional forum badges, avatars, etc. for use on the official bioware Mass Effect website forums to let everyone know you're rocking the collector's edition. I don't really care too much about it, but it's a nice way to help make you feel like you got something for your money.

Overall I'd say the collector's edition is a definite buy over the standard edition, if you can find it (Amazon so far is the only place I see it in stock). The DLC content alone is worth the extra $20 looking at just the digital content alone. The N7 Arsenal Pack would cost at least $10 and last I checked "The Arrival" DLC is also $10 on PSN and Xbox Live today. That's assuming the N7 arsenal pack is ever officially released for purchase since it's right now being touted as a Collector's edition exclusive. Combined with the other physical extras and digital perks thrown in like the digital soundtrack etc., I'd say you're more than getting your extra $20's worth. If you're a longtime Mass Effect fan like I am I'd say go for the Collector's edition definitely. If you're someone new to the franchise and are just checking things out, I think you could get by with just going for the standard edition if money is a issue, since you're just paying for extra DLC content and physical goodies catered more to fans of the series. But if you were even thinking about picking up DLC content for Mass Effect 3 at some point, you're getting a better value by buying the Collector's edition now and paying the $20 upfront. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Hope the review helps in making a decision.

Also as a side note, if you're new to the franchise I strongly suggest you buy Mass Effect 2 and import you character after beating it. You'll get a much more immersive experience. Also the PS3 verison of Mass Effect 2 comes with a good chunk of the DLC and a interactive comic that goes through the major decisions from Mass Effect 1, whereas the Xbox version does not. I'd recommend the PS3 version over the Xbox one for that reason alone (not to mention you don't need to swap discs with the PS3 version). But definitely buy the collector's edition of Mass Effect 3 now if you're interested, since I doubt it'll remain in stock much longer.

After a disasterous mission, Shepard is confined to Earth, his warning are ignored and before the galaxy realizes the Reapers are not myths, they hit Earth first and they hit it hard. The game introduces us back to Commander Shepard on Earth (play the Arrival expanison from Mass Effect 2) the Reapers attack and all hell breaks loose. Admiral Anderson guides through the first mission and you are sent offworld to recruit help, after picking up an old friend at Mars, Shepard is tasked with building an alliance to fight the Reapers once and for all.

Mass Effect 3 is faster paced and more action oriented than part 2, you will have a smaller team but you will get to know them better and build relationships, if you played part 2, you will familiar faces here and there, depending on who you recruited and who survived. You can continue or rekindle a romance, you can finally make a truce between the Geth and Quarians, cure the Genophage and save the galaxy and also take on Cerberus.

I found the conclusion very satisfying but I did pick this up after EA released the new extended ending, if you can muster your forces above 4000, you will be treated to an awesome cut scene regarding the final assault on Earth, there is some recruiting, exploration, no more minigames like picking locked doors or mining for minerals, like I said, it is faster paced.

The collector's edition comes with in-game content, a small booklet, a N7 patch and a cool case, regardless if you choose this or the standard edition, the game is able to blend in an amazing RPG experience with an action packed shooter, the online component is fun and I had a great time trying out new classes and species ( you can play as an Asari, Quarian, Krogan and more) and it is fun watching your galactic readiness build up.

I highly recommend this game, join the fight and save the galaxy.

I'm more of a casual gamer but with Mass Effect I truly enjoy playing from start to finish. Mass Effect 3 is simply amazing, usually the trailers for the game seem to show the best parts of it, and even with such awesome trailers, the experience of playing this game is simply incredible and every mission and cutscene are fantastic, way better than what I was expecting.

The collector's edition was cool to get particularly for the tin case, bc the artbook that comes with it is lacking compared with the awesome Art of the Mass Effect Universe and the DLC was a nice bouns but nothing vital to the game I think. What it's all about is the game, and what a great final chapter for this trilogy did Bioware deliver!

I have enjoyed the mass effect series over the years. I always played them on the pc. but this time ,due to EA greed and the creation of origin, I purchased on the ps3. I really enjoyed the game experience, the story, and the graphics. sure the ps3 has a frame rate issue every so often and I miss playing on my pc. I also wish I could import my pc games. I know Sony is willing to do this because portal 2 could share saves with the pc. but EA...oh well. I cannot knock the game it was great! play it

THE GOOD: the graphics and sound are amazing. Much better than the Madden line of games. The game is supposed to be rendered in 1080p, but comes on in 720p for some reason on my TV. I went into the PS3's display settings and turned off 720p, and that fixed the issue. Players retain dirt and scuffs on their uniforms, and celebrations after TD's and sacks are excellent. The game really gets the feel for each individual player. Gone are the ratings based on 0-100 scales. When you choose a player, it tells you exactly what this player does well. You have total control of every single player on the field in pre-snap: hot routes, blocking schemes, formation switches and audibles all before you hike the ball; zone coverage, blitzing, shifting, drop off and pinching on defense...all of this can be tailored for each player one at a time, meaning, for instance, you can blitz your weak side LB ("Will") by hitting 3 buttons. You really have to learn the button layout, though.

The gameplay is fluid and fast, but not too fast. The QB can slide in the pocket, duck under and avoid sacks with the ease of the Left control stick. RB's and WR's have a slew of moves. What's different here? Used to be, players moved on a horizontal axis, making them look and act almost like horses on a merry-go-round, with a pole running up through them. Now, player movement is very fluid, very smooth, and players you would expect to just seem to "glide"...OJ Simpson, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, etc. After years of playing both the Madden games and the 2K games, I'd have to say that this version looks the most realistic--the tackles, the moves, the blocking, players knocked off balance, the ball movement...your QB will even throw a wobbler into the ground (or worse--into the air and up for grabs) when he is hit as he throws.

Also, it's great to be able to build your own team of NFL Legends. Right now, I have 4 teams which I've built, including designing their home and away uniforms, and I compete with each of them. You'll be pleasantly surprised by many of the names included in the game--too many to name here. The CPU teams are made up of legends as well, though, so be prepared to get your butt kicked the first time you play.

Essentially, you pick 11 players from the "legend" database. This field of players is broken down into 3 tiers: Gold, Silver and Bronze. You get to choose 2 gold players, 3 silver players and 6 bronze. The game fills the rest of your roster with random players; suspiciously with familiar names (my back up QB's name is "Archuleta"). True, you don't get to pick anyone beyond the 11 legends, but the random players are pretty darn good, and you do get to choose how the roster is filled: your extra WR's can be balanced, possession or deep threats; your extra RB's can be finesse or power runners; your D-linemen can be run stoppers are pass rushers, etc. I've heard complaints be early reviewers about the uniforms, but as long as no one's in pink, who cares what they are wearing? The uniforms are OK, and you create your own when you make a team from the helmet to the shoes. Also, the stadiums are absolutely over-the-top. One has a huge shark coming through the top of the scoreboard...it's awesome.

THE BAD: there are negatives to this title. You can only play with your created teams. I would love to play with the team called "LEGENDS" as it has 11 gold tier players on it, but it is a CPU only team. The choices for gameplay are very, very thin. You can play a quick game with one of your created teams against a CPU team, or start a season, where you basically play a round-robin against the other CPU teams, then go to a playoff series. If you do win the league championship at the end, it's over. This was a real downer for me. This is also why I created 4 teams, because I really wanted to play with Ditka, Night Train Lane, Eugene Robinson, Reggie White, John Elway, Ronnie Lott, etc. etc. etc., but you can only have 11 legends on your team at a time.

It seems the developers spent way more time on the offense. As fluid as it is, the defensive backfield is still a tad shaky in it's player movement (a la NCAA Football 06 or 07), especially strafing, and potential INT's seem to bounce right off DB's chests and facemasks. Watching a sack unfold is gorgeous, though, and linemen can swim, club, spin and bullrush to gain an advantage over their blocker, which makes rushing the QB the most fun aspect of playing defense.

Kicking is a nightmare. 2K uses the right stick, much like the EA games do, but there's no kick meter. You pull the stick back to start the whole process, and right before the kicker actually makes contact with the ball, you thrust the stick forward. You won't know if you did it right until you see the flight of the ball. A text indicator comes on screen to let you know how well your timing and aiming was, but it's an after thought--if your kick was bad, you'll know as it sails out of bounds.

Online play can't really be reviewed here, as there aren't many players out there yet. I'm sure by next week, it will be jamming. There are quite a few options out there, though, like Tournament play, online seasons, custom play and quick play, and all are separated by difficulty level. I saw one profile player already had a record of 12-1 as of last night (the day the game hit the shelves) but there were only 44 others players online at the time, so wait for later reviews to discuss online play.

ALL IN ALL, I love this game, and it has exceeded my expectations in so many ways, but it falls short in a couple of small but key aspects: the anonymous "extra" players (who have no visible ratings), the thin gameplay options, the frustrating circus that is "kicking," and the dropped INT's. But nowhere else can you find this vast field of NFL Hall of Famers. I can only compare it to last year's games, so it may be unfair, but I will say that this game blows Madden 07 away in nearly every aspect of actual gameplay, but not in it's menu items.

First thing first, judge this game for what it is not what it isn't. Clearly, this game is not Madden and it's not an NFL licensed game, however, it's a great football game. The football play is first rate and it's equally fun to play both offense and defense. I've played multiple defensive positions and they're all solid. The concept is great and it's a lot of fun to build your team from the Gold, Silver and Bronze players from the Hall of Fame. I own Madden 2008 as well, which is also a good game, however, I find myself keep coming back to All Pro Football, it's just a hell of a lot of fun to play.

All Pro Football 2k8 = slightly juiced up NFL 2k5

Now I'm not saying that this game is not fun, as you can tell by my fun rating. I enjoy the game very much. 2k sports continues to put out a line of quality products and most importantly, a good football game. Being able to play with the retired legends in this game is amazing and jumping right into the fantasy draft was awesome. Everything I loved about 2k5 was here.............

With that being said....... This game is basically a souped up version of 2k5.... and I'm talking Honda Civic with three different colors of body kits souped up. The graphics are honestly not that impressive, for a next gen game I would expect more. The controls feel a little sloppy at times, especially on defense when trying to tackle some of the legendary backs or receivers in this game. Lastly, the commentary sounds completely recycled from NFL 2k5 (although, there was a rather funny discussion that went one between Peter and Dan about them never hugging).

I have enjoyed APF 2k8 so far, it's a refreshing change from Madden. The overall gameplay is fantastic, you don't run into your lineman's backs and stop, your runner adjusts and turns to get by them. The way that the players interact is PHENOMINAL!! Your running back is never down from just the slightest contact with the defense. If you have a shifty back like Barry Sanders and throw a spin move on a 300 pound linemen or linebacker, a lot of times he is gonna leave them reaching for air just like Barry DID!! On the flip side! There is also gonna be that situation tho when he gets bottled up and one guy will stand him up and here comes two linebackers to take you down for a loss. These are the kind of small things that make football games enjoyable.

To sum it up, Will APF 2k8 give Madden a run for it's money?? Probably not this year. APF 2k8 is an excellent start for the 2k series into the next gen console market, but there in lies the problem. Dated graphics and features really hold this one back from being an excellent title without the BUT after words.

With that said I am going to give you my ratings, per my personal catagories, also; please note that I am not going by stars, but thumbs (I.E.Two equals excellent, One and Two Thirds equals great, One and One-Half equals good, et al.):

Fun: Two Thumbs Up

Obviously, this game happens to be the most inthralling game that I have played. You litterally feel like if you were in the game! Hearing home the crowd go off for every hard hit, every defensive stance, and every touchdown. It is 100% mesmerizing to watch a game, let alone play it, you hear the crowd chant, and the ruckus that is in the crowd is truely amazing. Obviously, 2K Sports have done their homework, and it is surreally done.

Plus, it is ALWAYS fun to have a Sweetness-Moose-Rice Combination on your team (Like mine). Good memories.

Gameplay: Two Thumbs Up

Although the physics engine looks GREAT, there are very minute things that would need to be tweaked. Things like when a diving defensive player goes to stop a Runner/Wide Reciever. They dive, but it is like the player bounces off of the player, then fall to the ground.

While this is pretty entertaining to watch this, it would still be much more believable if the defensive player looks to at least go for a shoe-string tackle.

But other than that, it still is a good physics engine. Plus, you cannot discount the bonus of having to taylor your game to your opponent. Things like, when you see that your opponent's defense has one side

loaded with Bronze/Silver/Gold Linemen or Linebackers, you could opt out to run to the opposite side, or you could try your luck going to that side; if your opponent has all-star Cornerbacks and Safeties, you could opt out to either use your running game, or try your luck passing.

This included into the bonuses that your star players possess all of this adds on to the realisim of the game; added onto their characteristics and mannerisims.

Plus, this whole give-and-take strategy proccedes throughout the game. It is a real jewel of this game. You could have the best offense, but if your opponent has the best defense, it becomes a struggle; which is something that is TRUELY realistic of this game.

Graphics: One and One Half Thumbs

While I could go on, and on, about the amazing job that Take Two have done on the Gameplay of this game.

Too bad that I can't say the same about the graphics. This happens to be the only weak spot on the game. While pretty good, it still looks only a little better than that of a PS2.

While the stadiums are beautifully designed, it still looks fairly choppy, something that you'd wouldn't expect on a PS3. The character models looks very good also. Too bad that this game suffers from arms, legs, and sometimes shoulders dissappearing into their opponents/teamates.

Again, this is something that one would have expected to see in a PS1/PS2 game, but with the power and design ceilings that the newer generation systems have, it is concerning that this little kink could not have been fixed through the proccess.

Another thing that is concerning is the field construction (or should I say distruction). It still looks like the field destroys in a manner of the last gen systems. Where you only see moderate distruction on the field during rainy games.

This was something that I saw applied better in Madden 2007, reguarless of how pathetic that freshman attempt at a next generation game, during a rainy game, you could see puddles develop in certain parts of the field, thoughout the game.

While the game could do much better on the physics and graphics department, this are fairly minor gripes to a SURPREMELY good game.

Highly recommended for purchase and rental, and I am offically sold on All Pro Football series, and cannot wait to see better impovement to the graphics and physics systems; along with a couple of add-ons of a career and other single player modes.

Therefore, I am giving this game a grade of One and Three Quaters thumbs up!

Overall Rating: One and Two-Thirds Thubs up!

A great game, and if you are ANY bit of an American Football fan, it is HIGHLY advisable to have this game in your collection.

Second Update 12/16/2008: UPS just dropped a package from Mad Catz. They didn't fix my broken cymbal, they sent me an entirely new package, cymbal, mounting hardware and all.

No note included saying what was wrong, or anything, just a new cymbal. It looks like it's been handled, which probably means that someone tested it out to make sure it worked right, before they sent it to me (or that it's a refurbished.)

I tried it out, and all seems well. Kudos to Mad Catz for the excellent customer service. Their site says 4 to 6 weeks, and it only took 12 days from drop off, to return. I'm psyched.

Update: After playing for an hour or so this afternoon, it's evident that one of my cymbals is defective. It's sometimes registering two hits, instead of one. I called Mad Catz, and the guy I got was super friendly, extremely understanding, and set me up with an RMA. He said the website suggested 4-6 weeks, but realistically, it's more like 2 to 3. I'll update again when I get the new cymbal to see if it's working properly. I'm glad I didn't just try returning it to Amazon to get another, they appear to be completely sold out everywhere I've checked today. Glad I pre-ordered mine 3 months ago.

My three pack finally arrived last night, and I was psyched to get them. Ever since they were announced, I've been excited about them. The way I assumed they worked, was actually different than how they do work. More on that later.

The cymbals certainly give the drums the look of a real drumkit (okay, at least a real electronic drumkit,) but how do they play?

They take some getting used to, that's for sure. I just got them last night, so I'm still in the adjusting phase. But right from the get go, my wife said "You look like you're having more fun." Which I totally was. It felt like I was playing more realistically than I had without the cymbals.

When I first bought the cymbals, I assumed that they would just act as extenders of their respective colors. So when you'd hit the blue, it made whatever sound the blue one should at that specific point in time. As Rock Banders know, the drums pretty much all double as cymbals or drums, depending on the part of the song. I was pleasantly surprised that the new cymbal pads are dedicated as cymbals. So, if you hit the "ride" cymbal, it makes the ride cymbal no matter what. Same for the hi-hat, and crash cymbals.

It may throw your brain off, when you hit the cymbal when it's a tom-tom in the game, and you hear the wrong sound, but it won't break your streak, or count against your overall score. As long as you hit the right color, the sound that the game makes doesn't matter.

My favorite thing about the other game, you know, that one I returned already, was that there were dedicated cymbal pads with their drumkit. The Rock Band 2 drumkit, with the Mad Catz add-on cymbal pack (a measely $29.99) is 100% totally, absolutely better than GHWT's, hands down.

The game is more fun when playing drums, with the cymbals. It's more realistic, and more creative. I especially dig that during the "Overdrive fills", you can be a lot more musical with the drums, with dedicated toms/cymbals. If you're a die hard drummer for a Rock Band band, you absolutely need to spend the $29.99 to get these cymbals, pronto.

First of all the Mad Catz Triple Expansion Cymbals works like a charm. It adds great depth of play when playing as the drummer in Rock Band.

I've seen several reviews here that says that the cymbals slips when it was hit too hard and sometimes the cymbals double-hits when hit too hard.

Well I found a fix for these problems.

Cymbals Slipping:

You must ensure that the plastic locks that holds the aluminum tube snaps 'locks' into place with the other half of it. There must not be a space in between the two plastic locks other than the circular areas which hold the drum aluminum tube and the cymbal aluminum tube. But be careful once they're locked it can be very difficult to separate the two plastics.

Cymbals Double-hit:

I noticed that one of the three cymbals I got was too sensitive. When I hit it hard, the game registers two hits. You can try this by going to the main menu and assigning the sensitive cymbal into the BLUE (ride) port. Try hitting it hard and you will notice that on the Menu selection screen it will go down from QUICKPLAY -> TOUR -> TRAINING. This is clearly a double hit because it skipped the TOUR on the menu. And for the fix, try loosening up the wing nuts in such a way that the cymbals will bounce a little when hit. This would transfer the bounce force into the foam and not the cymbal sensor. After trying this and testing with songs with lots of cymbals (Dead on Arrival) I noticed that I never missed a note again when hitting the sensitive cymbal.

I hope this helps lots of people having problems with the Mad Catz Cymbals Triple Pack.

I think it's great to expand the RB2 kit--just four pads and a pedal--using cymbals to add some variety to playing the tracks, but these come up a little short in that area.

Admittedly, they're something of a bargain when you compare them to real electronic cymbals, so the question becomes whether the shortcomings are worth the price.

Ultimately, I'd say these are for two types of player:

1. people who are really starting to get into drumming and are wondering if they'd want to take the big leap into the Ion Drum Rocker.

2. people who want to expand their Rock Band gameplay.

In the end, I'd say they really don't serve either group completely. They're a lot louder than the standard RB2 pads and have a tendency to come loose if you hit them a lot, so they're not really comparable to the sort of professional experience you get with the Ion.

The other aspect is a bit trickier to explain. While the cymbals add a lot of flash to fills and free-form playing by being mapped to their own sounds (Yellow Hi-Hat, Blue Ride, Green Crash), giving you eight total sounds in those modes, that flash doesn't carry over to the songs themselves.

In the main of the song, the game only knows you're playing Yellow, not that it's the Hi-Hat. As a result, you end up listening to the song while you play to determine if you're on the "right" target for the sound that's coming out...is that green note a Tom or a Crash? This adds an extra layer of complexity to playing and requires that you learn the song a bit differently from if you're just playing the drum pads.

The volume of striking the cymbals is kind of a turn-off, too: now that Harmonix has delivered a much quieter drum kit, adding the cymbals suddenly makes it about as loud to hit as the RB1 kit had been. It's not bad if you've got the volume up, but if you're playing at night and trying to keep the noise down, you may find yourself hearing the tap of your sticks against the cymbals and little else.

The last minus is the way they mount. The hardware is secure enough, though a bit difficult to assemble exactly as directed and very difficult to disassemble, but the design of the cymbal mounts doesn't work quite the way the instructions imply. Supporting the cymbal is a wedge that serves the dual purpose of keeping the cymbal's active edge turned toward you and which also allows it some tilt. The problem is, to get it to tilt, you need to loosen the nut that secures it in place. Given that that nut likes to ride the vibrations and unscrew itself while you play, getting it loose enough to allow for significant tilt can be pretty frustrating.

As a result, they end up mounted more-or-less horizontally, which takes away from the "real drummer" experience they're supposed to be providing.

UPDATE: See the pictures I added at the top to get an idea of what the kit looks like, and what the clamps should look like when properly installed if you're having trouble.

I've has this set almost two months now and they still work and look perfect. No problems at all, and well worth the $. These have been played by both of my teen aged boys, and a professional drummer, and they all love them!

I bought these on release day and have not had the slightest regret.

My biggest gripe with the basic drums you get with Rock Band 1 and 2 is that they have no cymbals, and the pads aren't laid out like the real deal. It's not as big of a deal when you play the guitar parts, you expect them to be a cut down version of the real thing. It doesn't matter how much you play the guitar parts, it's not going to help much when it comes to playing a real guitar. The drums are different. If you actually learn the tempos, and get good at your timing, this will transfer to the real thing.

If you use these in practice mode they will output the sounds of a real set of electronic drums, including the bass, snare, toms, and floor tom, as well as the high hat, crash, and ride cymbals. You can play this set in practice mode, and accompany any song you choose to play through your system.

Are they as big a deal in the game itself? Not quite. But it's better to get used to playing on something laid out like a real set and a lot more fun. If you just want to play the game and aren't interested in getting good at drumming they aren't as big of a deal.

These are velocity sensitive and will react with more volume the harder they're hit.

These DO NOT work with the Rock Band 1 set of drums. They do work with all sets of RB2 drums as well as all game systems.

This set is very well constructed and well worth the money. If you like to play the drums on RB and GHWT, and want the extra challenge of playing with cymbals, don't pass up either this three piece kit, or the two piece kit.

For some reason the picture shows the cymbals really close together. If you set them up right they can be positioned like a normal drum and cymbal set. Not the bunched up mess the Madcatz picture shows.

Cymbals work, as advertised, and are a great supplement to the overall drum system.

I am a little bit perplexed about the negative reviews stating that they are "too sensitive" or that it was difficult to put together.

After reading said reviews, I timed myself to see how long it would take to put all 3 together. The result was 9 minutes and 23 seconds with no difficulties.

As for the "too sensitive" part, I tried 5 different songs and alternated between drum pad and cymbal use. Both pads and cymbals still responded with single hits, no missed hits, and no "double" hits. I suggest that if you are experiencing double hits, it might be that the cymbals are not screwed down tight enough and the wobbling could introduce more than one hit.

As for my own personal experience, the product is well-made and has already enhanced the overall experience. They are by no means a necessary addition, but they are certainly a fun one. What makes them even more fun is that they can be used in the drums' "free style mode" where all 4 pads play as different sounding drums with 3 different sounding cymbals. It's not a professional drum set, but you can certainly play it like one and it sounds great. Hit the "-" sign and you can play different drum kits programmed into Rock Band 2.

From an experienced gamer, I highly recommend this product and rock on!

If you are a Tim Schafer fan, this game is everything you hoped it would be... except for one nasty little surprise. The single-player campaign is a measly 6 hours (and that's being generous). I'm not a multiplayer kind of person and if you share that sentiment, wait until this one drops in price. Once it's under $30 or so, it'll be worth every penny. Right now though, I felt a little cheated paying full price for half of a game.

Outside of that though, this game is all-around hardcore awesome! If you like multiplayer or don't mind the SHORT singleplayer campaign, then buy this now! Otherwise, you may want to wait a bit for a price drop.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a huge fan of metal music nor of Jack Black. I listened to some Ozzy when I was growing up, and I think Jack Black is OK, but those weren't the reasons I bought this game. In fact, the first time I heard about this game, I had zero interest in it. However, playing the demo, reading some interviews with Tim Schafer, and seeing some of the art behind this game completely changed my mind.

The Pros:

The art in this game is fantastic the world, the character design, the "legends" you uncover, even the user interface are all a joy to encounter. I never got tired of finding a new viewpoint and watching the camera pan across some fantastic heavy metal landmark. And the various heavy metal demons they've thought up are brilliant.

The story is top notch. The plot of the main quest, and especially the "legend" back story are really well done.

The voice work is truly excellent. It really brings the characters to life.

The humor maybe I have the mind of a 13 year old, but the game made me laugh out loud several times and kept me with a constant mental grin.

The music even though I'm not a huge fan of the genre, it really fits the game world.

The world continues once you beat the game you can keep exploring or finish side missions you haven't yet completed. And there seems to be a bridge to nowhere maybe a possible DLC single player continuation? I sure hope so.

The Cons:

The single player campaign is short. I don't think you are really enjoying it if you finish it in 6 hours like some are claiming, but I had about 3 really in-depth sittings before I finished it.

The time you spend on the ground with your axe is even shorter. I enjoyed the first couple missions the most, where the game had you dungeon crawling a bit and defeating a boss enemy at the end. Gameplay shifts quickly to the troop directed stage battle mechanic, which I wasn't really expecting.

The side missions are repetitive, and actually not all that numerous. I finished them all shortly after beating the game. Make sure you seek out the uniquely named side missions though some of them are real gems.

Other Thoughts:

You will be doing a lot of driving around. Several of the missions involve racing your car or driving around and blasting things. I actually enjoyed this part of the game, but it does seem like you are constantly in the Deuce.

The world is kind of small it's not as expansive as say Fallout 3 or Oblivion. But I think it suits the game pretty well.

You can shock just about any four legged creature and ride it I don't think I really realized this until after I beat the game. I don't think it will particularly help you much during the game, but it's kinda fun =D

After completing the game and exploring what I thought was pretty thoroughly, I've only completed about 40% Of the game according to my trophy score. I only discovered a little more than half of the bound serpents, and I find myself lacking the motivation to "complete" the scavenger hunting and the rest of the single player trophies. (How in the world can there possibly be that many things still left to find??)

I'm not a huge fan of the RTS style stage battles (I know Tim Schafer claims it is NOT an RTS, but..) I haven't yet played a multiplayer stage battle and I'm not real enthusiastic about doing so, and that is a BIG part of the replay value. You'll probably enjoy the game a lot more if you like the stage battles, but I'm not sure what type of player they are aimed at. For hardcore RTS players I'm sure it's really simplistic, and for those of us who just prefer to hack and slash, it starts to become a chore. You may enjoy them, but it didn't float my boat.

Overall this is still one of the best games I've played all year.

Brutal Legend is everything it was hyped to be, which is an extreme rarity in the world of video games. It's fun, it's clever, it's well written, it's pretty, it sounds great. What it is not, however, is long. While every element of the game ranges from enjoyable to fantastic, reaching the end in fewer than six hours was more than a little anti-climactic, and detracted fairly seriously from my overall opinion of the title.

There are numerous side quests scattered throughout the world (and the world IS open--roam all you like to kill time), and the six hour timer doesn't include those--fair is fair; I could've gotten more time out of the game. The problem there, though, is that most of the side quests are carbon copies of other side quests--to such an extent that if you take a look at them, they're using the exact same name and objectives.

I would sincerely recommend the game to anyone prepared to pay full price for a game they can finish in two sittings (or one marathon). Anyone else, though, I'm afraid ought to wait for a price reduction, or rent. It pains me to say it--I really wanted to love Brutal Legend--but it's true. I'll be trading it in (which I virtually never do), and repurchasing when it hits bargain bins.

"Oh man...I hope I haven't been slaying hot chicks this whole time!"

Damn you Tim Schafer. You've been gifted with the ability to turn the most outlandishly wacky ideas (and not to mention potentially unmarketable) into some of the most funny and original games ever created. This makes you a godsend since most games these days are neither original nor funny (even when they try their hardest I'm looking at you Halo and Grand Theft Auto clones). While I speak from a lesser-exposed point of view (I haven't yet had the pleasure of playing The Secret Of Monkey Island or Grim Fandango), I have played Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, and Psychonauts and I know a special game when I see it. While Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle were fun, Psychonauts is Schafer's first grand work, and one of the best games of the sixth generation. Psychonauts was full of all kinds of wacky characters, über-creative levels, subtle dark humor, innovative gameplay mechanics, responsive controls, and mature themes under all those bright colors (the Memory Reels are quite tragic and sad, mirroring the losses and hardships we've all faced). I consider Psychonauts to be one of the finest games ever made, and I guarantee that no matter what type of gamer you are, there's something for you in Psychonauts. And y'know what? This was Schafer's first game to be released on a console. Talk about starting with a bang! But with the video game market shunning innovation and constantly reproducing the same drivel over and over (I can't wait for another futuristic first person shooter that blatantly rips off Halo or Madden: The Same Game As Last Year), would Schafer be able to continue his tradition of creating something original in a sea of unoriginality?

Thankfully yes! Enter Brütal Legend, a game about heavy metal, made by a metalhead, for metalheads. While this will most likely turn off some people, it is insanely fun for me and will be for anyone who gets the slightest enjoyment out of listening to heavy metal. Pretty much everything about the game is great, save for a few minor things. The level design, characters, controls, gameplay, and especially, the soundtrack are all top-notch.

On the surface, the game is a basic hack-n-slash with free roam that turns onto a real time strategy (RTS) game at certain points. The hack-n-slash part is fun; you have an upgradeable battle axe and guitar that serve as your weapons, as well as a customizable hot rod, dubbed "The Deuce", armed with weapons and nitro. You can also perform solos with the guitar, similar to playing the the ocarina in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. They range from summoning The Deuce, playing a literally face-melting solo against enemies, and my personal favorite, calling in an air strike from a giant Zeppelin. While I don't care for RTS's, with the exception of Command & Conquer, it works here and is integrated nicely in the heavy metal universe. Instead of using gold or harvesting some other resource for funds to buy and build units, your "currency" is fans. You construct "merch booths" that spawn fans, which allows you to create new units for your army. The more merch booths you construct, the more fans you're allowed. Your home base is a stage which you must protect. You have all the usual units, but with a wonderful heavy metal spin: infantry are headbangers, ranged weapons are groupies with guns, tanks are skull covered ballistas, stealth guys are roadies carrying speakers, etc. The imagination and design of these things is amazing and heartfelt, showing Schafer and the design team really have a love for the source material. That being said, the RTS element is my least favorite part of the game. While the victory is indeed "brütal" when you win, the controls are a bit lacking in this regard. Issuing attack/defend commands can be a pain, and controlling an individual unit is nearly impossible. The cool part is that you can jump right into the battle and start dealing out death personally along side your troops.

The strategy element isn't really there, but that's OK for me. My "strategy" was to spawn as many units as possible, while upgrading my stage to produce more powerful units, and go gung-ho and destroy everything. This worked well until I realized you could spawn The Deuce and use it IN battle. This made things ridiculously fun and much easier since I upgraded it to maximum kickass-ness with missile launchers, flame jets, and one heck of a battering ram. I was shooting the bad guys, setting them on fire and running them over while simultaneously spawning more and more troops to help me kick butt.

The other missions are standard (and a tad repetitive) as far as most games go: recruit these people for your army, escort your caravan to the next area, stage battle, repeat. This isn't really a complaint because the repeated missions are always done in new and beautifully designed areas, so it still manages to stay somewhat fresh. There are side missions to earn you "fire tributes", which serve as the game's currency and let you upgrade your inventory. The game also has tons of things to unlock, collect and discover. I get an immense satisfaction from collecting stuff, so this made the game even more fun for me. Brütal Legend has upgrades, concept art, new solos, and new songs you can unlock by finding certain things. You can also free "bound serpents" to give you health and armor upgrades and find legends that tell the history of the metal land. And the game looks absolutely stunning. The entire game world is designed in the style of heavy metal album covers, conveying epicness in every sense of the word. Google Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo to get a sense of the game's style.

The soundtrack is the best part of the game. A good deal of my time was just spent driving around listening to The Deuce's radio, dubbed "The Mouth Of Metal". All different genres of metal are present here in the game's 108 songs, including the originators of heavy metal Black Sabbath, the thrash metal of Motörhead and Megadeth, the 80's hair/glam metal of Mötley Crüe, the modern power metal of DragonForce, and tons of tracks by lesser known but utterly awesome artists (Brocas Helm, Omen, Riot, etc.) that perfectly compliment the game. I think this is why I found the game to be so damn good compared to other reviewers because I truly love music, especially heavy metal, and because of this I was able to have more fun with the game than the average "radio listener". The original score by Tim Schafer's long time collaborator Peter McConnell is also superbly done.

And mark my words: Brütal Legend will suffer "Psychonauts Syndrome", receiving a decent critical reception but not becoming highly regarded until later.

So the bottom line? Brütal Legend rocks! While it's not without its flaws, it is lovingly crafted by true fans of metal and will be much more enjoyable to those that like metal. It may turn off the casual, but I say definitely check this one out.

This game is artistically and stylistically beautiful. And because it comes on bluray disc the HD sequence in the beginning looks fantastic. The game is more than decent. What is annoying is from time to time the camera's do odd things that make it difficult to do some moves.

Its apparent that from the very beginning that you will have to remember a bunch of special moves. They do a good job building this training into the narrative of the story. What really doesn't work for me is the overall game play.

Yes, it looks awesome, and is fantastic to go into the album covers of my youth. However, when it gets to the game play and doing moves with others that are supposed to assist you, it is often hard to pull off, not in a you suck and cant do it hard, but in the WHY WONT THIS WORK sort of way. I can abide some minor frustration game play, sometimes this game has more than tolerable issues with movement or fighting. This level of frustration ruins all of the fantastic artwork, open world, and even the excellent narration.

About the narration:

Jack Black is really funny with the context specific comments. He comes at this from the viewpoint of a monster roadie that has been stuck doing a boy band for some time. He is set free when he is killed by the massive stage set. Kind of weird; when did New Kids on the Block ever have a metal god as their stage set. Anyway, from this beginning Jack Black takes you on a journey that is both interesting and funny.

It is a very well made game, just needs some help with the controls. This may be patched at some point so keep tuned, seems like it is fixable. As it stands its a pain in the buttocks.

Before I get into my thoughts on the Blu-Link remote, I'll start by saying that I've purchased and returned two Logitech Harmony universal remotes. The Harmony Xbox 360 remote and the almighty Harmony One to be precise. These are the only products I've ever returned on Amazon.com. They were nice enough remotes to look at, and the computerized setup was convenient. I just couldn't get past the delay in button presses. No matter how you set the inter-device or inter-key delay for the remote, there is a noticeable delay between pressing a button and seeing the result. (For example: Holding down the volume button for an A/V receiver for a few seconds would result in about 3-4 extra commands after you let go of the button. Annoying) I am far from the only user to be bothered by this, as a quick Google search can yield innumerable results on the topic.

The Blu-Link remote doesn't have a computerized setup, a display, or a charging station. I give it 5 stars nonetheless. It does what it's supposed to do, and does it at a reasonable price. Using the supplied codes, I had my PS3, Samsung TV, Onkyo A/V receiver, and DirecTV HD-DVR up and running MOST of the way within a couple of minutes. I then spent 5, count 'em, 5 minutes using the remote's "learning" feature to fill in the remaining functionality. Notably, I ran into the same problem that another reviewer had with my A/V receiver, in that it would power it on, but not off. Teaching the Blu-Link the Onkyo remote's power code directly alleviated this problem. Various other commands were learned from my old Onkyo remote, but the DVR and TV were good to go using only the supplied codes. The volume master feature works as it should, sending all volume commands to the AUX input, the Onkyo receiver. The manual also explains how to set up a master volume device, but to also be able to control the TV's volume when you're on the TV input. (I mention this after seeing another reviewer's frustration with trying to do that)

Now, for the reason I was so excited about this remote in the first place: The ability to control the PS3. I can tell you that it works flawlessly. Power on, power off, video/music playback, menu navigation, just about everything you can do with the PS3 controller can be done with the Blu-Link remote. To power on, you simply hit the PS3 input selector. To power off, you hold the "Home" button, just like you would on a PS3 controller, and select "Power off device". Simple! The only ommission I've seen is the lack of "L" and "R" buttons. The only use I would have for them is webpage back/forward keys, (which is still easily done by hitting "triangle" and selecting it from the menu) but since I don't do much web browsing on the PS3 it's not a big deal.

The finish of the remote is very attractive, and I find the button layout to be very comfortable. Be aware that the buttons are quite small, namely the number keys and transport buttons. (FF, RW, etc.) Those with large hands may have problems.

I spent less than 10 minutes setting up this remote to control all of my components, and have been loving it in the time since. Yes, I have to manually adjust inputs when watching a movie instead of hitting a singular "Activity" key, but I also don't have to deal with the delays present in Logitech remotes. The PS3 control is fantastic, and you can get the Blu-Link remote for $10 less than the price of the Logitech PS3 adapter alone!

If you're unhappy with Harmony remotes, and you're a PS3 owner, this is a no-brainer. Buy it now!

I bought this remote a year ago, but it didn't do its job well for more than six months. It continued to function as a universal remote, but the bluetooth became so spotty to the point of worthlessness. It wouldn't remain connected to the PS3 for more than 10 seconds, so it would connect and I'd have to quickly scroll through menus before it'd disconnect. Then I'd wait another 10 seconds for it to reconnect and I'd start the mad shuffle again. Not a fun way to live life. I tried calling and emailing customer support on many occasions, but they've gone dark. So, I got a Harmony remote with their bluetooth adapter and haven't looked back. It's a far more expensive option, but I've had no difficulties with it, and I'm pretty sure Logitech will answer my calls. I don't like saying it, but I recommend looking elsewhere for your PS3 controlling needs.

I really want to love this remote, and I almost do. There's just a few kinks that I'm really having a hard time living with. Let me break down my loves and hates:

Love:

Almost eliminates 6 remotes/controllers (the "almost" is explained below)

"Teaching" commands is a breeze

Has a wide variety of buttons so I can logically assign buttons

Feels good in my hand (I don't think the buttons are too small, and I have normal sized guy hands)

Hate:

Only 50 programmable commands, globally. This means you can only "teach" the remote 50 new things across all devices. I ran out before I even got to my receiver's remote, so I've had to go back and pick and choose which commands I'll actually need regularly.

If you leave the remote in PS3 mode for a long time (60 minutes?) it will stop controlling the PS3 until you turn the PS3 off/back on. I re-paired, too, but I don't know if that's a necessary step all of the time.

As to my first complaint, I called the company's support number and talked to the fella there (very nice guy) and he confirmed that there are only 50 programmable commands. I asked him if I could request a feature and that it be more memory for the next model. Perhaps if enough people request it we'll get our wish. The company's site .

For my second complaint, I recommend doing what you have to in PS3 (Bluetooth) mode and then change to some other mode. The Bluetooth probably just goes to sleep to conserve battery power, but it's very frustrating. So switch modes and I think everything will be okay.

Overall, I really do like this remote because it's one-of-a-kind. Why hasn't anyone else thought of making a IR/Bluetooth remote? Who knows. But they haven't, so this is the best there is for now. It's definitely first-gen, but a great attempt. Hopefully they'll iron out the bugs and the next version will completely rock. I know I'm game to get an update.

I recommend this remote for anyone that has a PS3. For only a few dollars more than the standard PS3 Bluetooth remote, you also get IR capabilities to control other devices. I also wanted to echo a previous reviewer that pointed out that this remote does not have a delay when you press the buttons so refreshing. I'm also using this on a PS3 Slim and it works perfectly so I must have one of the newer versions.

If you're looking for a remote that can configure macros, this does not have that feature. I didn't need that feature since everything I have is connected through HDMI and is using HDMI CEC for synchronizing power state everything turns on and switches to the right input automatically.

These are the devices I am controlling: Onkyo TX-SR607 A/V receiver, Panasonic TC-P58V10 58" Plasma TV, PS3 Slim & Windows 7 HTPC running Windows Media Center and Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

This remote was on my Christmas list because Sony doesn't provide a remote for watching movies on the PS3. (Don't expect to use this remote as another game controller even though it has some controller buttons.) The universal remote capability was an added bonus. I was pleased with it until it stopped working with the PS3 Slim. During the middle of the first movie I watched it suddenly wouldn't control any PS3 functions. I found out from the manufacturer (and other reviews here) that this is a problem with the first 1,000 made which is apparently all that Amazon carries. (I think Amazon should note the Slim issue in its description.) Sony apparently changed the firmware on the PS3 Slim model making this remote inoperable. I like this remote so I am awaiting a replacement with a firmware update but I will have to pay return shipping for the old one. On the plus side this remote operates my HDTV and TiVo HD with no problems. It learns your other remote functions easliy if you want to change them. It is a little small but buttons are generally laid out well. I still find myself using my TiVo remote frequently because I'm so familiar with it but with practice this remote would function almost as well. A back light would be nice, too. All in all I was pleased with this remote but if you need PS3 Slim functionality make sure you find one with the newest firmware unless you want to pay additionally for return shipping.

Was fairly happy with this remote when I first got it. It was easy to set up with all my devices and worked fine for my PS3(not slim). Not that it is without problems. The buttons are way too small, there are no page up and down buttons, it's impossible to use in the dark, the blinking blue light when in PS3 mode is annoying, but at least it worked with the PS3.

After a week it stopped controlling my PS3. I called and left a message with customer support and emailed them, but have not received a reply. I'm stuck with a useless remote. Save your money.

Update: Company finally responded to my service request and sent me a new remote. It paired fine and controlled the PS3. However, I will not be able say whether it continues to. I bought the Sony remote, which I love, and am using that instead.

Captain America: Super Soldier, is a simple and fun video game tie-in to the latest Marvel movie smash, and for what it's worth, it's a fun enough trip while it lasts. Playing as the Star-Spangled Avenger, you mow down hordes of Hydra agents and other assorted baddies while making your way to take on the Red Skull, and that's pretty much the whole game in a nutshell. There's nothing overly complicated and the gameplay does tend to get fairly boring after a while, but considering the fact that this is a very, very short game, this isn't as bad of a shortcoming as it should be. The graphics are pretty decent, as are the controls and overall feel of the game, which is really quite a pleasant surprise considering how bad Sega's Marvel movie games have been over the past few years. All in all, fan of the comic, movie, or both; Captain America: Super Soldier is worth checking out.

I wrote this over on gamefly. It deserves to be here. It's a good game.

This game was overlooked, for the most part, due to some of the lower budget aspects of the game. That broad statement aside, Captain America: Super Soldier, is a solid PS3 title that uses the trusted formula you may have seen in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

You will find yourself climbing, jumping, flipping, dodging, punching, sabotaging, and throwing your shield through 19 chapters of a story that takes place sometime during the events of the film. Combat, story elements, overall mechanics, look & feel are all very similar to Batman: Arkham Asylum. If you enjoyed that game, chances are you'll like this.

There are a few aspects to Rocksteady's formula that are not emulated very well. This tends to give the game somewhat of an overall dull feel and mechanical flow. The story is interesting, but ultimately simple and something we've seen before; evil scientist is trying to recreate the Super Soldier formula to create his own minion, etc... That said, it's enough to keep you interested and coming back pretty easily. Plus, the game is pretty short, which is fun for me since my time is limited. I liken the story and length to a good 4 part movie. With the action, cinematic sequences, and involvement with the movie (it's a bit of a prequel), it's really just a good time.

I enjoy Captain America, so that may sway me just a bit, but this is a fun, albeit short game; perfect for a rental. Pick it up if you wanna feel like Cap over the weekend and don't need the most polished experience to enjoy a game.

Since I wrote the above, I'll also say this. After a few days of returning the game to gamefly, I have found myself writing a review about this game on Amazon, because I am looking up the price to pick up a used copy of it. It's a really fun game. If you are a Cap fan, it's a really, really, good time.

I'll be the first to admit this game starts of slowly. After the first hour, my impression of this game was that it was a cheap, generic, Arkham Asylum knock-off. I came really close to trading it in, but I decided to stick with it.

The one thing that makes this game different than many of the others is the use of counter attacks. When an enemy is about to strike you or shoot at you, an indicator will appear on the screen, and if you time your block just right, you'll retaliate with a vicious blow, or knock their bullets right back at them! I thought that was really cool and I had fun doing that.

Yes, the combat was borrowed from Arkham Asylum, but it was still fun to fight, nonetheless. I do wish they would have tweaked the combat just a bit though, like maybe allow Captain America to jump in the air. Batman and Captain America are the only 2 action games that I know of that does not make use of a 'jump' button. In most games, the jump button is 'X', in this game, that just makes you roll/dodge. If you've played Arkham Asylum, the combat is pretty much identical. If you have not played AA, just imagine a free-flow combat system that allows you punch, kick, and counter; if all timed correctly, can be a thing of beauty. You are also able to use your shield in combat by throwing it at people, which is very fun to do.

The only weapon that Cap uses is his Shield, which is plenty enough. Through upgrades, you'll be able to hit multiple enemies with one throw which will definitely come in handy as you progress through the game.

The enemies in the game can be fun to fight at times, but I wish there were more of a variety. I may be wrong, but it seems to be only about 5 or 6 different enemy types, if that. But, this games does shine when it comes to the boss battles. I pretty much died the first few times I had to fight a new boss. You will continue to die until you figure out a strategy to defeat the boss. This is not a hack and slash game where you press the same button over and over to defeat a boss, which is a good thing in my book.

Many people have mentioned how short the game is. Well, if you take your time to explore and look for hidden items, you can get about 12 hours out of it. If you just play through without exploring anything and without doing any of the challenges, you'll probably get about 8 or 9 hours.

There are a couple of reasons as to why I deducted a star. I really wanted to see a better variety of enemies. Sure, the boss battles were fine, but I kept seeing the same enemies over and over. And also, this game copied AA too much. I'm not saying that was a bad thing, but AA is a unique game with a unique formula, come up with your own formula.

I'm glad I stuck with it though; it turned out to be a fun game after all. It's not the type of game that's gonna set the world on fire, so please don't expect that. It's a fun game at a reasonable price that will keep you busy for a few hours, depending on how you play it.

I am playing Captain America and amazingly, it was fun. Although kind of short, I still enjoyed the action. Once you get really into the storyline of the game, which thankfully does not follow the movie, you will want to listen and hear everything that is said. If I can just get my last 4 accomplishments 1 more film reel, 1 more zola diary entry and all gold in challenge mode) I will be a very happy person. Finding everything after you finished the game is kind of hard.

I've been a fan of Destroy all humans since the PS2. This game is buggy, both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, so I'm barely giving it a 3 star for quality. So far, the PS3 version isn't locking up or not saving my progress like the 360 version did, but we'll see... Why this was not released in the US is beyond me. But this disk does work on my US PS3. Do know, however, that the box says "this game is compatiable only with a HDTV and HDMI cable." Who would be running a PS3 on anything but a HDTV? I know, but I figured I'd point that out. The game is the same old mindless fun that the old DAH games are famous for. Much better than "Big Willy" and on par with DAH 2, this game may be the best of the series. A disappointing factor is the size of the levels, I expected larger areas for next generation consoles. I thought the story was humourous, especially what happens to ol' Poxy, and the voice acting is great. I know the import sells at a hefty price, I just feel more "at home" with the PS3 controller.

The opening sequence was reminescent of the Playstation 2 version of the game. However, the graphics in the city sequence was reminescent of a Playstation 1 game. The programmers took shortcuts and did not maximize the full computational power of the Playstation 3 when it came to looking into the distance. The directional finder was flawed, making me walk around endlessly until I finally quit. If the developers had not rushed this product to market and added the graphical strengths of the Playstation 3, this would have been an acceptable product. Instead, this may be the end of this franchise...
