Set in the dystopian, post-apocalyptic world of Russia's underground subway system, the Metro, Last Light is a tale of humanity's claustrophobic and bloody fight to survive. With the oppressive and dark life of the underground, it's a dog eat dog world, with various regimes vying for control, the innocent bystanders caught in the crosshairs, various trouble makers in between and the risk of all out war. Match that with the surface world's toxic air and mutated horrors that will rip you to shreds, and the future is looking pretty bleak.

You play as Artyom, a newly-inducted member of the Order of the Rangers, one of the only (if not THE only) neutral faction in the Metro. You must traverse the Metro, scavenge for supplies, triumph against the monstrosities that could lurk behind every corner, and find a way to save humanity from itself.

Last Light is an immersive game. Like its predecessor before it, Metro 2033, LL takes every step it can into making this game as realistic as possible. The HUD and UI only show themselves when needed (or is completely nonexistant in harder difficulties and in the Ranger modes), and your character moves in realistic ways. When wearing a gas mask, you can change the filters manually, the mask can crack and almost break in places, when water blood or other gunk blurs your vision, you can wipe it away with the tap of a button.

When scrounging in the tunnels, your flashlight is your best friend, as certain areas are unforgivably dark, and some nasty spider/scorpion hybrid creatures are physically harmed and kept at bay while trying to swarm you. You can use a manual pump to keep the light from going out. You can use a lighter to burn away cobwebs to clear your path. You find yourself completely enthralled by the universe this game creates as you begin acting in slow, methodical ways, as anyone would to prolong their life. You come up with creative strategies to deal with enemies, and at times, you feel the pressure and heart-pounding anxiety of holding off multiple foes at once, with your flashlight on the verge of dying and leaving you in the dark.

If you're looking for a creepy, fantastic, expertly-paced, atmospheric adventure into the depths of an almost alien future, then Last Light is your game. The interactions you find between the people that live in this world can be so utterly hopeless sounding that it leaves you on the verge of tears, and nearly makes you feel even more desperate to find a way to solve all of their problems.

Last Light is a rare game that blends atmosphere, great gunplay, fantastic sound design and a convincing, realistic world, all into one beautiful package. This is a game, above all others that have been released in the past six months, that you owe it to yourself to play.

Completely and unequivocally recommended.

I cannot recommend this game highly enough to anyone looking for not only a game but an experience. Metro Last Light is a polished first person shooter with a great story. The graphics really set the tone for the journey through post apocolyptic Moscow. Item management is key in this game as resources are hard to come by and searching the barren, radioactive landscape for items is high risk for little, albeit precious reward. Maintaining gas mask filters is key to survival and when they start to run out it's a frantic race to find safety. The shooting mechanics are suprisingly tight for a story-driven fps. I especially liked the rotating barrel shotgun. Great sound rounds out the package and only serves to enhance a setting already dripping with tension. For me this game is in a rare category as I actually care what happens and want to finish it unlike my last purchase Resident 6, which lost my interest about mid-way through. You'll want to finish Metro and want to play it again in ranger mode.

Metro Last Light is a real gem and shouldn't be missed by anyone. The experience this game provides is second to none. It is hard to turn off and events from it stay with you long after you put the controller down. As an extra note, the limited edition that is shipping now comes with the ranger DLC included (there is a code in the box).

This is a fun game and a great value. By including two previously released games, updating the graphics, and adding additional content, this game was not only fun to play but also a terrific value.

If you have not played any of the previous Star Wars Lego games and enjoy action platformer types games this is a must buy. The action is light, fun, and addictive. There are some minor annoyances, the odd camera issue and some of the platforming aspects controls could be a hair tighter but these are generally minor annoyances.

To top it off, the game delivers goofball humor that is funny without being overly cheesy. Combine the easy to approach action with secrets and collectibles not obtained on a first play through and you have a game that actually appeals to all ages with tons of replay value.

Finally, the Star Wars license has been put to good use. Easily the best Star Wars game on any Playstation platform.

After reading several reviews, I was pretty sure I would enjoy this game. I'm glad I bought it. It's got a quick learning curve, ALL kinds of extras to discover, an enormous cast of characters, and it's one of those games that plays thru somewhat speedily and doesn't drag out. My only complaint is that the controls can be a bit hard to manage when it comes to jumping up onto things.

The levels progress rapidly, but are plentiful. After completing you can go back in "free play" mode and play the levels as any unlocked character, which you must in order to get all the goodies. I was a bit worried that after completing a level I would not want to go back, but that's not the case at all. It's enough fun that you really want to achieve the goals. The sound effects are well done, and often time hilarious. The game if full of droid sounds, ambience in the Cantina, ships racing thru space, and light sabers. Padme's death cry still cracks me up!

I would highly recommend this game. It's great fun for one or two players, and that's hard to find these days!

There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth every time you try to get your kid away from the game. No... really. This game is like crack for kids. I somewhat regret ever having bought it, but being able to sleep in on the weekends because the kid is playing this game does have its merits. Sure, I feel somewhat like a failed parent using Darth Vader to babysit my kid on Saturday mornings, but hey... Dr. Phil hasn't called me yet.

My son is 6 years old. When I was 6, I had Pong.

The Father and Son I speak of are my own. This game was purchased originally for my grandson, but his dad loves playing it just as much as my grandson does. They sit down and take turns playing. It provides a good bonding time for them.

I bought this for my five year old son for Christmas. He played it non-stop all day today and absolutely loved it. The coop play is superb and the game is great fun for the whole family. This is the definitive version of Lego Star Wars, it has all of the content that was released with the best graphics possible. I usually play games geared toward adults like Uncharted and Orange Box, but I'm having a great time with this game too.

If you have kids and a PS3 this is a must have title. If you don't have kids and this game appeals to you in any way, then you should just give it a try, it's worth the gamble.

This game was purchased for my mother, which says it doesn't have a broad selection of her type of music. American Idol usually has lots of oldies, and older rock on the show whereas the game does not.

Additional songs are slightly expensive if you ask me @ $1.50/song on average. It would be nice if you could download huge packs of songs at a decent price instead of having to shop for them individually. Also, I don't think you can import songs from previous versions of the game, which is another negative point.

I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone over the age of 35.

This game got mediocre reviews and I understand why. With that being said, if you have a PS3/Wii/XBox 360, and lots of friends who like to sing, and have said friends at your house for a party, this will entertain all night long. Overall not as bad as some reviews I've seen, but the gameplay is kind of repetitive in single player.

I like this game a lot. I purchased this because of the ones from ps2. The song selection isn't of my selection but i bought some from the ps site, making it even more fun to sing. I make everyone sing that comes over when we have a get together and even tho someone might not want to sing, they still enjoy it tho. Overall, it still doesn't beat the ones for ps2. I love this one too.

Remote is very light and the quality of materials matches it's price. The painted or printed symbols already show signs of fading. It works fine for what I use it, which is to play, pause, rew/ffw. You do have to keep the remote pointed at the dongle for it to work so make sure the area is not obstructed. By the way it needs two AAA batteries (not included)so have them handy.

If you can't get HDMI, then Component A/V Cable is the way to go. I have the Monster Game Component A/V Cable for PS2 and it is the same except mine is blue (since blue is the PS2 theme color) and it works on all of the PlayStations since 1997. I would recommend that anyone looking to buy HD cables for their PS3 get a regular brand HDMI cable (Philips is perfect at just $33) or a Sony Component A/V Cable ($14.95 compared to Monster Game's outrageous $59.99!!!!!). Monster Cable's prices are just daft!

I am absolutly blow away by this product. Now that it is only a few dollars more then the sony brand there should be no reason not to buy this product!

I have two PS3's now (one is my dads). On my TV I can run HDMI, but on my fathers TV it is slightly older TV that doesn't have HDMI inputs. When I orginally bought my PS3 I also bought the sony component cable to hook up to my dads tv (because its bigger than mine) and when I used it I was getting diagonal lines running through the tv at all resolution levels. Now using the monster component cable lines are gone and high resolution looks just as good as if it were running with hdmi.

I am completely blown away from by this product and how much of a difference a monster cable does. I always said other cheaper brands are just as good as monster cable... sadly I am going to say it does make a difference in this case. And the price difference is negible now too so there should be no reason to buy the other brands.

The cable itself is about 8 feet long, and about 1/2" thick (not joking the thing is a lot thicker then most power cords), has the 3 component male ends with two stereo audio RCA cables that are all run as a single cord for most of the lenght. Just be carefull when connecting as there are two red coloured wires but slightly different pattern of colouration. The connections were nice and tight and found a slight turn and push method worked the best for getting them in. Perfect fit into the back to the PS3.

I am running optical cable Mediabridge Toslink Cable Optical Digital Audio Cable 15ft for sound so I don't know how the sound is with this cable.

If you need to run component for the PS3 this is the perfect item.

I had no idea what I was missing out on with a CRT TV and a composite cable. I thought the text in any of my games would be forever blurry to the point of not being able to clearly read it. When I got myself an HD TV/monitor to use for school I needed to get a component cable to be able to continue using my PS3. With the variety of cables on Amazon I wasn't quite sure which one to get. The cheaper ones apparently had no ends of problems and in my past experience, cheap stuff sucks; the canon Sony cables are a bit on the expensive side.

As for the cable, it's called a monster for a reason; it's a thick sucker! Heavy-duty and not apt to break easily. I noticed that during installation (which is so basic I think you'd have to be skilled at not being able to understand how to match colors), the plugs fit snugly making them less apt to come off for almost any reason. It doesn't come 'naked' as the picture suggests; it comes in that type of secure packaging that is moderately annoying to get into; similar to those things that require a pair of sharp scissors or a package knife to cut around the edges to get to the stuff inside.

Game play has improved far beyond my expectations. What was blurry and hard to read is crisp and amazingly easy to read. Colors are more vibrant as well. Overall my gaming experience has been .... wow. I'm still picking up bits of my mind that was blown away the first time I turned my PS3 on.

Highly recommended!!!!

--edit 6/28/12--

Well, I bought the Slim PS3 120 gig last week, It was hard to find where I live, and I knew going in that it only had composite a/v cord, so I did what any tech guy would do, I ordered some friggin cables.

I bought a HDMI cable cheap from amazon.com that 4 dollar one that is so popular on here, I bought a Optical Cable for Digital Audio. Once again from here. Then I thought I was good to go, little did I know PS3 and Samsung tv's dont match well when it comes to HDMI, my HDMI connection doesn't work, so I bought this cable, (Monster Component PS3 cable) I chose this one instead of the one made for the ps3 which the seller also carries, but I decided to buy the monster because retail wise this one cost 50 bucks vs. 30 retail for the ps3 brand component cable. So I figured the more expensive the more quality. Well I dont know how good the component cable for the ps3 brand is, but this Monster Component cable works AMAZINGLY. The difference between Composite and Component cables are like night and day. The picture is so much vivid and a feast for the eyes. I also own a xbox 360 which is connected to my HDTV via component cable aswell and I must say the PS3 looks allot more Sharper for HD Gaming at least for playing the only game I play for the PS3, Socom Confrontation, wow, its very sharp. I love the graphics and the smoothness of the picture. I would Recommend this cable to anyone that wants HD Gaming and cant get HDMI to work with their HDTV and PS3 or that dont have a HDMI Input on their TVs. The Picture quality is amazing, I cant review on the sound of the cables which I think come with the cable patch, I just use the video aspect of the cables, I use Sony's Optical Cable (toslink) for my PS3s Audio with my Surround Sound System. Great Combo, Component Video and Optical(toslink)for Audio.

So If you want a good cable buy this one, its only 11 bucks with shipping included.

Want Playstation 3 Monster Component Audio Video Cable Discount?

Playstation 3 component cables, made by Monster cable. Allows HD playback without an HDMI cable, though not full 1080p. 720p or 1080i.

-The reason I needed these, is because I record gameplay using an HDPVR as well as a capture card. The way I have things set up, I use the HDPVR for the PS3 and my Xbox360 for the time being, and the HDPVR does not accept HDMI input(or output for that matter), so I needed component cables to capture gameplay. The reason I chose these particular ones instead of the ones made by Sony, or some random/universal console component cable, is because they're Monster Cables.

This is not to debate whether or not Monster cables make a difference or not, you can do that elsewhere.

1)Whether or not they provide better picture is moot. They DON'T provide worse picture.

2)They're made extremely well, and are not going to fray, break, twist, crack etc etc from being behind the home theatre, bent in weird angles and subjected to the heat all my equipment produces.

3)Lifetime warranty/upgrade warranty, no different than ANY other monster product.

The simple fact is, using Monster cables for your A/V needs won't instantly make your experience better. What you're buying when you buy monster, is a quality product. Not some piece of junk cable strung together with the cheapest materials suitable for the job, but a precision made cable, using exact length copper wire, gold plated, split toothed connections for a great connection, now and ten years from now, and then coated in a extremely durable yet incredibly flexible outer shell to not only provide protection from damage, but to shield the cable from any interference. Does that make your blu-ray look better? Probably not. But Im the type of person who can't hook up a 4 dollar cable to expensive equipment.

This cable in particular looks real sharp, which is always a bonus. The cable is very flexible and doesn't hold a curl or get tangled. The only thing you may find you don't like, is how snug the connections are. Personally, I prefer it. It pretty much guarantees that the cable won't be ripped out of your TV, and you'll have the best contact possible inside the TV.

Don't buy this expecting your PS3 to instantly put out better graphics then your old component cables. BUT, if you need to use component hookups(ie: dont have a full HD TV, or want to use an inline PVR), AND you appreciate a well made product and don't mind spending that bit extra to get the better product, then this is a good cable.

Bought it for my son to use with his PS3. I've used Motorola before and liked them, although I have to say PLantronics makes a clearer unit.

Well, my son used it for a day, then stopped. When I asked him why, he said it "doesn't stay connected" to his PS3. I watched what he did and indeed it drops the bluetooth connection.

Motorola has been zero help.

Pros

Setting up this device with my PS3 was easy.

Its fun to chat with friends and in game.

Cons

The mic is almost satisfactory, the audio is muffled a bit.

The fit is terrible. I feel as though I have to sit still in order to keep this thing clipped to my ear.

Overall, I think I might check out a USB mic to see if I can get better audio quality and a better fit.

I grew up in Europe being a fan of the series in the late 80's / early 90's would still catch episodes when i can. i have always wished for this game and it was finally a reality. Being able to play with beautifully rendered childhood heroes is priceless...

yes the game can be repetitive but true fans will never get enough using their special moves and exploding their cosmos! i have already spend some 30 hours on it in the first 2 weeks.

The soundtrack is Japanese and adds to the realism of this game. there are subtitles and menus are in English.

a must must have for fans of the series.

Accuracy in shooters is my benchmark for controllers. I've bought many products to try and make the PS3 have a usable and accurate controller that is comfortable in my hands (I'm 6 feet tall, not that I have particularly large hands); the best combo for me is to use these and a silicone controller cover on the dualshock 3, using only my index fingers on the bumpers and triggers (no 4 finger configs). These (and I assume the legendaries) excel where I had issues with the FPS freeks because the Dualshock 3 tends to creep up into the palm of my hand and I end up pressing on the side of the FPS freeks rather than let my thumbs sit IN the cups as they were designed. With these I can crank up the sensitivity much more and my thumb settles easier and stays on the tip of the analog more consistently. I also find it easier to use them in non-shooters as well. I've also finally been able to headshot more consistently and feel that I am one large step closer to mouse-level controls on a console (it's a personal dream you may share). As a side note, I've had so many problems with controllers this gen that I'm considering going over to Xbox next gen just for the controller. I've scrapped 3 3rd party controllers including the Logitech (incredibly stiff triggers that I tried to modify and gave up on), the Dreamgear shadow (poor analogs), and the NYKO zero (trigger springs started sticking badly). Sadly, there are no decent third party controllers and this with a silicone cover seems to be the best bet.

I'm rating this a 4 and not a 5 for one simple reason: softer silicone analog covers like grip-it react less to sweat and really stick to your thumb whereas these are harder and are slightly slicker. The grip-it's don't fit well on these because they are too small.

This game has been out for a long time. How can I be the first to review it?

Just so you know, as of this writing we have not finished the game but so far it has been a lot of fun.

Graphics are really pretty good. It's no Fable 2 or Metal Gear 4, but very appropriate for my young gamers. My 5 year old can play through level after level with no assistance. But then she is a video game prodigy.

There is some violence, hit the bad guy, push him in the water, etc.

Controls are well done. A lot of the buttons and shoulder buttons are used but it's reasonably easy to control.

For it's market, I'm surprised at how good the game it. Better than the average movie game.

Just to give a number, perhaps 7.5 out of 10.

Plus it's FUN!

At 63, I'm a PS3 novice and Bolt is only the second game I've tried. It's great for adapting to the controls, which don't come naturally to me as they do my grandkids.

Buy Disney's Bolt Now

Playing Bolt is fun. The game is based on the Disney movie of the same name, which my whole family enjoyed very much. The game is a companion piece to the movie. You play Bolt and Penny as the fictional characters that they portray in the movie. Basically you play one of the tv episodes from the movie. Bolt the videogame is therefore a new original story, but not much of the story. The premise is that Penny's Dad is captured, and she and Bolt try to save him, thats the story in the nutshell.

The graphics are good, but I have seen PS3 showcase better graphics in other games. You take turns playing as Bolt and Penny. When you play as Bolt, you go through the levels fighting all the enemies that stand in your way. It is very fun using Bolt's super powers, and some fights can get challenging even for adults. It can get repetive towards the end of the game, but I always found myself going back for more. The Penny levels is what makes this game shine. Her levels required you to be stealthy and to get to places using her wheelie thing. Penny levels never got repetive, and actually get a little challenging towards the end. The alteration between Penny's stealth levels and Bolt's action levels works just right, as when you start to feel fatigue playing Bolt levels, you get switched to Penny levels.

The end movie is kind of disappointing, but I guess it has to end the way it does, because it is only an episode within the tv show.

Overall, I would recommend this game for $20 (price that it is selling for now). It also makes for a good rental. I also think that this is a kid friendly game.

Review for the purchase: As always, shipping fast. Item exactly as described. Love Amazon.

Review for the game: Honestly, I only bought the game because it was marked down to $8 and I had a $10 game credit for purchasing GT5 that was about to expire, making the game free. The game is really just okay for all ages. It is too slow for adults, too much for my 4 year old, and doesn't interest my 11 year old. My 4 year old likes the game, but every level requires you to execute a new move, so she loses interest. She just wants to play. I know this sounds silly, but really, why not just have 5 to 10 core moves and that's it? Perhaps a special optional move? Every level the game stops you and you "have to" press a very particular combination, such as Square-Square, Circle, Square, X, R2 or you can't get through that scene. Again, the game tells you what you need to press, but honestly you need to be fast. What ends up happening is I have to get through that stuff for her.

I think we would all like another installment in the single player Ratchet and Clank franchise; However I am not going to bash insomniac games for trying something new. This product is as advertised, a 4-player co-op plat-former. Anyone who has taken the time to read or watch an advertisement for this game should have known that it wouldn't be like the rest of the RaC games. Overall it isn't a bad game, but still I have some nitpicking to do.

First off, because it is a 4-player game you do not have control over the camera. This gives the feeling that the game isn't as detailed as its single player predecessors. Still there are some beautiful levels that give the ratchet and clank feeling. Another thing that bugs me are the circles that float bellow the characters. It makes me feel like I am playing Marvel Ultimate Allience or something.

Now, I can't speak for everyone but RaC is sort of a guilty pleasure type of game because I am an adult. That is one of the things I like about the series is that, it is an 'e' rated game that can actually be enjoyed by EVERYONE. Still in this game the characters tend to say cheesy one-liners such as, "that was good teamwork buddy!" This makes you stop and realize that you are playing a children's game. The multi-player mode itself seems like a gimmick for little kids. I don't see myself telling my friends "man, drop that Madden 2012 bulls!@t so we can throw down on some ratchet and clank!" But if you do have children than this would be a major plus, as the multi-player mode is actually pretty fun.

Overall the game is pretty fun. I think the nostalgia for the series will be both the saving grace and downfall for this game. People who are big fans of the series will enjoy a change of pace from the conventional RaC titles, but those who want more of the same will despise this game. Its definitely worth playing as long as you are open minded to something new.

I love the Ratchet and Clank series. I jumped from PS2 to PS3, knowing some changes would occur. Some changes were better than others, but I still enjoyed the first two games for PS3. Then along came All 4 One. I am about 3/4 through the game at the moment and I can honestly say;

I HATE THIS GAME.

I'm going to finish it out of some vain hope that it will somehow redeem itself and restore my faith in a brand I've been loyal to up until this point. But let's face itI've got 25% of the game to gothey botched this one big time.

I suppose my first hint should have been lack of camera controls (it's all wide-screen... and down-hill... Seriously, I spent half my time falling off some random edge because everything's so damn tiny) and that enjoying the game's graphics seems only truly achievable if you own an 80" flat-screen (I have an old 24" screen sorry I'm not rich Insomniac). Then there was the lack of strafe and the way the basic firing controls had been altered... (aaaand we're swiching to bullet points here)

-Then there's the A.I. (which you HAVE to play alongside if in single player mode)infuriatingly lacking in the "I" part of that abbreviation as well as glitchy as hell... all in ways that will very likely get you killed or force you to take actions you are not ready/wanting to yet because it "knows what to do next" and drags you along for the merry bloody ride.

-Half the weapons are useless and glitchy (don't bother with short-ranged weapons9 out of 10 times they are ineffective will get you killed. But longer range will randomly switch targets or suddenly become out of range of the target... also effectively getting you killed.)

-Battles seem to be mapped out less on challenge and skill and more on how much ammo they can force you to waste. In fact they're generally a giant blur of light where I can't tell where I am or what I'm doing.

-And if you get hit... well game over, because you'll get stunned, and then get hit again while you're trying to get up. I mean seriously WHAT is the bloody point of that?!?

-The characters in play keep repeating the same 5 or 6 lines over and over endlessly (I actually had to stop playing as Clank because if I heard him say "Don't worry little creature, we will not harm you," one more time I was going to punch the screen.)

-The oddball comedy is all but gone.

-Arenas: gone.

-Space battles: gone.

-Bosses... they all started to look the same after a while. Not very creative.

-The ability to upgrade weapons on multiple tiersgone. Instead replaced by a "buy upgrades" feature of which there are 3 per weapon... and not very impressive I must say.

-The "treasure hunt" portion (bolts, schematics, etc) of the game is nonexistentagain replaced by some lame "pet collector" thing which LEADS NOWHERE. Yay, I sucked a giant hamster into my vacuum... and I get bolts for it... whup di-do...

-And Puzzles? Ha! I'm going back to the Sunday crossword... more challenging, more interesting and vastly less insipid.

Near as I can tell the designers tried to change too much and lost a lot (ok, most) of what made the games great (to me at least.) Hope the next one is better or I'm seriously going to have to find a new franchise.

Gone are the engaging and visually complex worlds, each with their many layers of game play and hidden gems all waiting for you to explore as you desire. Gone are the vast arrays of creative weapons and the ability to play your character as you see fit. Gone are the mini games space fights, races, flights, arena battles, etc. Gone are the controls we've all come accustomed to. Gone pretty much sums it up. Instead, the game looks and feels cheap, hollow, gutted of its original depth and intent, akin to one you might download all this stripping seeming to make room for trendy 3D visuals and internet multiplayer game play. If hooking up with 3 other friends to control the tiniest of characters along a shallow linear path, spending most of your time mindlessly breaking boxes, sucking up animals, and briefly shooting at easy-to-kill enemies is your desire, then here ya go. But if you were hoping to settle in to a long weekend with the latest immersive R&C, I guess we'll just have to keep waiting. I personally haven't been this disappointed with a R&C release since Deadlocked, and that includes all the PSP releases as well.

Ratchet & Clank: you know them, you love them. They've been around for ten games now and the formula has not changed much over the years. All 4 One is Insomniac's response to fans asking for something new and exciting for our Lombastic hero and his shiny compadre, and let me tell you...it works like a charm.

All 4 One is an absolute blast whether you play it offline by yourself, on the couch with some friends, or online with others. You can select Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark or Dr. Nefarious even when playing single player. Every character plays pretty much the same but they all have a different special weapon. Ratchet has The Dopplebanger, Clank has the Zoni Blaster which slows enemies, Qwark has a shield called the Quantum Deflector and Nefarious has a cloaking device called...the Cloaker. When playing single player, Clank is your partner unless you select Clank as your character. When you select Clank, Qwark is your partner character...and he somehow jams himself onto Clank's back. It's quite amusing.

As always you have a multitude of whacky weapons at your disposal. GrummelNet once again serves as the vendor but they are now represented by some metallic friends from Tools of Destruction. That's right, Cronk and Zephyr make their triumphant return to the series. I won't spoil any of the story for you but I can assure you that the dialogue is as humorous as ever and the cutscenes are very well done. Speaking of cutscenes, they are not skippable. This would not be a problem if it only happened the first time but you have incentive to replay pretty much every level. Having to sit through the cutscenes every time will no doubt be irritating for some. I'm sure that Insomniac will address this at a later date. Graphically speaking, this is one beautiful game. So many modern games are dark: full of greys, browns and reds. It's refreshing when something as colorful as Ratchet & Clank comes along; some of the landscapes are truly breathtaking.

Ratchet & Clank All 4 One features a more linear level structure than the other games in the series, but don't worry, veterans will still feel right at home. The fixed camera and straight-forward progression makes sense for a game where co-op is a focus, it works. While the camera is fixed, there are still plenty of hidden areas to find and alternate routes to take. Gold bolts have been replaced with Hero bolts, these are used to unlock alternate character skins and they also give you more incentive to explore and replay levels. This brings me to an interesting bit: Each character's progression is tracked separately. Your bolts, weapons, Hero bolts and records are separate for each of the four characters. When playing with a friend you get bonuses for things like collecting the most bolts or getting the most kills; this adds a bit of competitive flair to the co-op and I think it's great. One of the more prominent mechanics of the game is that you can tether yourself to your partner, which is essential for crossing gaps or saving yourself from a fall. It's basically a cooperative Swingshot. If you die and your partner is still around you can be revived by them. If they don't save you it's ok, you will respawn after a few seconds. If everyone goes down, back to the last checkpoint you go.

One of the biggest concerns out there for this game is whether it is still fun as a single player experience. Worry not, Constant Gamer, playing this game by your onesies is just as magnificent as it is playing with three friends. The difficulty scales based on how many characters you are playing with, which makes cooperation all the more important. I find it more manageable to play on your own. I played online with 4 players for two levels and it was chaotic but fun; if you are playing with people you know that are using headsets I am sure it's just fine. On the subject of playing online, All 4 One does feature an online pass so you will need to buy this new if you want to play online. As with many PS3 games there is a mandatory install, there was also a tiny day-one patch, everything added up to 2,484 MB and it took about 8 minutes.

There you have it, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One is another great entry in the series, albeit different. I really don't have any legitimate complaints. There are still plenty of things to collect and skill points to acquire. Grab your wrenches and get to it!

Edited to add: I completely forgot to mention that this game has a reversible cover. It still features the PS3 logo but it's positively hilarious. Buy it to find out...or just look it up online.

Sadly, it's over. It's all over. The beloved Ratchet and Clank series is in its death throes. What was once a charming and inventive platformer has now become a mind-numbing and creativity-crippled generic corridor shooter. It was bound to happen though, right? Gamers are drowning in a sea of console shooters these days, from Call of Duty and Killzone to Gears of War and Halo, so is it really so surprising that even games that started out as platformers are becoming more like current shooters?

Gone is the feeling of exploration that dominated the previous R&C games. You no longer have planets and moons to discover and pilfer as you see fit, as the game progression is startlingly linear. There's no exploration allowed within each level either, as you're funneled from one corridor or floating rock to the next and to the next and to the next. You won't be searching high and low for gold bolts, as they're pretty much sitting out in the open right in front of you. Skill points tell you exactly what to do to unlock them so you don't have to worry about taxing your brain.

The weapons just don't have the same level of ingenuity or excitement as in previous R&C games. A lot of the weapons are similar or identical to weapons from previous games, and those that aren't just don't seem to belong. In any case, the utility of many of the weapons doesn't really exist. You can run through the entire game using the standard cannon, the rocket launcher, Mr. Zurkon, and maybe one more weapon without resorting to using any of the others. (Sidenote: This game gets 2 stars instead of 1 solely on account of Mr. Zurkon, who is still incredibly awesome). Still, the gunplay (once a staple of R&C) is not addictive or exciting in this outing.

Controls are also odd. Since the game is meant to be played with multiple people, no one has control over the camera angle except the computer. If you're keenly used to using the right analog stick to control the camera as in previous R&C games, then you'll find yourself irritatingly changing weapons by accident, which is now managed by moving the R stick. It's something that people can get used to, I guess, but I never did, and it was like a sharp pebble in my boxers throughout the entire game.

The gameplay basically revolves around running from one battle to the next, shooting up waves after waves of enemies, running through the reload ammo checkpoint, and doing it all over again. By the time you hit the halfway point of the game, you will notice that each battle has become eerily reminiscent of one you already fought. It'll start out with about 8 rotating laser drones, then 2-3 standing/bomb drones show up, then like 8 boxing drones, then a flying gravity drone, etc. The enemy variety just isn't there, and it becomes painfully obvious early on and throughout the game. The last two levels in particular are a tedious exercise in the limits of human patience as you're literally fighting the same five waves over and over again as you move toward the final endpoint. Wait until you fight the final boss. It. just. never. seems. to. end.

If you're not planning on playing this game with human teammates, then just go ahead and take this advice: Don't play this game. Playing by yourself pairs you up with a near-retarded AI teammate who brings to the combat table the uncanny ability to read your mind and do exactly what you hope he doesn't do. Clank, I need you to activate that switch once I open this panel. Well, Clank was planning on opening the panel instead of activating the switch and now he's all confused and is stuck moving back and forth like a moving paper target. Clank, I need you to shoot this boss with me so we can create a more damaging attack. Too bad, Clank is inexplicably bolting to the edge of the floating platform and leaping to his death over and over again. Time to reload the checkpoint. Again *sigh*. These problems are obviously avoided by playing with a human friend (unless your friend is near-retarded too), but if a game is not adjusted appropriately by a development studio to be played as a single player game, then the option shouldn't be available. It just makes the project look messy.

When playing the game in coop form, hopefully with humans, the main draw (and purpose) of this game is to make everyone work together to beat levels. This always sounds great on paper as with most coop games, but the vast majority of developers cannot for the life of them figure out how to implement co-op tactics well (and Insomniac is no exception). Well, here's the dirty secret: levels should be designed so that they are essentially unbeatable unless the coop-ers work together and each fill a separate and mandatory responsibility, ideally one that is not glaringly obvious or limited to one sole strategy. This rarely happens in practice, unfortunately. What usually suffices for the co-op experience is one of the following watered-down events:

1. You cannot exit a level unless both players press X at the door, and a cutscene follows of one player holding the door open for the other player to walk through. Thanks, bro.

2. Both players are funneled toward a deadend that requires each player to hit x so that one gives the other a helpful boost to the ledge. That player then hits X so he can help the other player up. Thanks, bro.

3. One player activates and holds a switch so the other player can walk through the newly opened door and activate and hold an identical switch on the other side, allowing the first player to walk through or activate another, previously blocked switch. Thanks, bro.

4. You and a friend basically empty round after round of your ammunition into seemingly endless hordes of enemies until they're all dead, with no real focus or strategy. Keep shooting, bro.

#3 and #4 make up 95% of R&C All4One.

Hooray for co-op!!!

--------

Ok, I'm done. This game sucks in general and sucks even more for dragging an otherwise great series into the dark, fecaline depths of generic gaming. We don't need another mindless corridor shooter and certainly don't need a once-non-mindless-corridor shooter turning into one.

Let's all hope Insomniac returns to form with the next game.

I received a USB-MicroUSB cable in a sealed bag that was labeled "Digital Audio Toslink Optical Cable (3 feet). I contacted the seller who advised me to contact Amazon, in which Amazon gave me the option to ship the item back for a 100% refund or accept a 20% refund and keep the item. Since I actually did need another cell phone charger, I opted to keep the item. Giving 3 stars for the OK price and shipping speed, but I still gotta knock points off for sending the wrong item.

This thing didn't seat properly into my ps3...I thought perhaps it was the ps3...other end on my receiver...same thing, no "click" or "seat" like all optical cables I've ever seen, just slips out. Same on every optical device I own and tried.

I used this cable to connect my ps3 to my surround sound system. Excellent sound quality with a lot of boom.

I bought this cable to use with a digital audio to headphones converter box. My TV only had a digital audio out and I wanted to use headphones because, I have room mates. It works perfectly and does exactly what they explain.

It costs $1, so what can you expect? Shipping was 75% of the cost, but still less expensive than buying one locally. The cable works. Though the title is contradictory, this is indeed a 3-ft cable (not 12). The only thing I find dubious about this product is that it doesn't "latch" very securely when attached. That is, you don't get a real firm and confident "click" into many applications, and it does not seem to want to connect to my XBOX-360 at all. Otherwise, a good product.

Well the controller itself is pretty comfortable and fits my hands much better than the Sony controller. However, after a few days of trying to get it to work, I have yet to do so. The controller will not sync with the receiver it just won't! I am currently in the process of contacting Madcatz's tech support, so we'll see if my controller gets replaced or if I get a refund. I like Madcatz and was excited to give this controller a try, but no luck yet.

If your looking for an extra controller on your PS3 and don't wanna shell out 50 bones for a Sony brand controller, this is the one for you. It's just as effective and reliable as the Sony brand only devoid of a few perks. It needs to have a wireless receiver plugged into the usb slot in order to work and it needs AA batteries to function (although it has a decent battery life span). It's bulkier than the Sony brand, but it works just fine and is ideal for having that extra controller around for multiplayer games.

Defective right out of box. Would not sync to the PS3. Spend the extra ten dollars and buy the Sony controller.

This controller seems to work fine, except that it drains battery like crazy. If you accidentally forget to turn off the controller after you're done playing, most likely when you return the batteries will be drained. Not good if you have kids since they never remember.

This controller worked for about a month and then stopped connecting to the PS3. Tech support from the company is basically non-existent. So save your receipt or spend a little extra to by a real Sony controller.
