Guitar hero is finally back! This game has taken me to back in the day when Guitar hero was king. Before it lost out to rock band. The game play is right back on par and and I've really enjoyed the new features added to this version including the ability to slide and hammer on notes. Much more realistic to actual guitar playing.

Pros:

*Music: Some great old school classics (including Phish,Santana, and Bon Jovi) mixed with current pop hits, great for all ages.

Cons:

The only slightly negative thing I would have to say is that they haven't brought down the price of the downloadable content yet. They should group more of them together for less money. Because I don't want to pay $20 for 10 new songs.

Ps3 Online Multi-player makes it difficult to find people on the network.

Overall a good buy and a great addition to the guitar hero family.

All the new features and setlist are what make this game amazing.

I was really getting tired of RB/GH Releasing the same thing over and over again with new songs, almost no new features, and the same tired note charts. Guitar Hero 5 changes everything. Completely redesigned interface that makes you feel like you can NEVER press a wrong button. You can switch modes within modes, go directly online from within modes, and even pull up your friends list from a new in-game menu (on PlayStation Network) and send network invites. The only thing I hate about this is, they took away the XMB friends list (it'd be equal to pulling up the Xbox Live invite list) for their own friends screen which doesn't sort by whether your friend is on/offline and whether they are playing Guitar Hero 5 or not. It's kind of crappy. However, it does let you see their Rocker Card for friends who've played the game.

That's probably the only complaint I have about the game. Everything else is prestine and adds a new funky freshness to the genre. Rock Band 3 is already trying to copy the new and improved music studio adding in their own thing. You can know use RB2 cymbals in GH5, which used to cause an error on previous games. You can import GHWT, GHSH, GHVH, and BH into Guitar Hero 5 and all your GHWT DLC except for Jimi Hendrix.

Updated note charts for RB drum players, too. You now use green for a cymbal and yellow isn't only for hi-hat anymore and velocity sensitivity has been added in for RB2 drums, also.

I have to admit that this game was a bit of a shocker-it hits hard and fast. There, I confessed. Love the graphics, the story, the content is hilarious, I never expected this thing to work but it's probably going to be one of the must-have-yet-flying-under-the-radar games of the year. I haven't seen it featured in any of the popular gaming mags, probably because it's based on a show and was considered to be a way of cashing in on an existing brand. Oh well, their mistake. Instant cult classic, and yes the gameplay suffers somewhat because of the tripped out camera; however, this is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Games like Tomb Raider Underworld have shown us just how bad whacked-out camera controls really can be, and this game doesn't come anywhere close to being that bad. This game, in a word, is FUN.

I have only played the game for a little while, but so far it is awesome. Great graphics that look like they are straight out of the TV show. Good soundtrack even though I do not like rap. Ninja ninja (Samual L. Jackson) has great lines through out the game that make you laugh and keep you in good spirits, plus no one can curse like SLJ. All in all it is a fun hack and slash game full of blood, violence, nudity (naked ninja bit$hes), incredible graphics, and cursing. Just like the show. My major problem is the same as everyone elses, the camera sucks. Inverted left/right with no way to adjust.

Buy Afro Samurai Now

The first thing one notices in this game are the graphics, which are indeed awesome. It is like playing a comic book. The story line is classic--a son avenging the murder of his father. Samuel L. Jackson's voice overs definitely add to the fun. As does the first-rate soundtrack.

As another reviewer has noted, the weak point in this game is the camera movements. When one starts, the camera's default mode is the reverse of every other game one has ever played--the camera moves as if one is looking at a mirror. One can fix that in the options menu by deselecting "default." However, that fix only results in the camera moving in the right direction. One can still only pan horizontally in most places, which is very annoying when one has to jump to a platform but can't see where the edge of a cliff is or what, exactly, one is jumping to. Beyond that, even the horizontal movements are spotty, especially in the midst of combat where one is often disoriented.

If it were not for the camera movement, this would be a 5 star game. It is very disappointing as other game designers have figured this out. The camera movements in Tools of Destruction and Uncharted are so flawless one doesn't even notice them. The folks at Surge should consider enrolling in "Camera Movements for Games 101" and then reissue the game with this rather substantive problem corrected.

I picked this title up at the same time that I bought my PS3. It was cheap, and I mildly enjoyed the series on SPIKE, so I figured I'd give it a shot, not expecting much. I was very impressed with what I got.

My initial impression of the game was that it was a button masher. The game starts off by throwing hordes of enemies at you, that you must hack and slash your way through. The simplest way to do this is by mashing buttons. Each attack button will initiate a combo sequence. There is no timing or skill involved in pulling off a combo, just hammer the button and it happens.

I soon discovered, however, that the game employs numerous methods of forcing you to play with a skilled hand. Apart from that, you can build up and use "focus", which functions as a sort of "bullet time" in which the game slows down, and you can aim and charge an attack at a specific part of the enemy's body. A well placed strike can and will dismember your opponent. You can also parry attacks, which can open the enemy's defenses.

Not all of the trash mobs are so easy to drop with button mashing, either. Some will go to great lengths to avoid your attacks, making Focus almost necessary, and even then, if you don't manage to trick them or catch them unawares, they can still manage to evade.

Some of the boss fights are incredibly difficult, and will require you to abandon your button-mashing tendancies altogether. While battling Kuma, for example, charging in will only get you slaughtered. Even parrying and counterattacking will only get you so far. I found myself actually having to use focus just to get myself into a position where attacking was possible, and even then, after a dozen attempts to figure the guy out, I just barely managed to succeed.

As far as aspects not directly related to gameplay, the visuals are stunning, the music is excellent. An odd combination of mild, soothing stuff and energetic battle music. And, of course, Ninja Ninja's always around to insult you with as much crassness and profanity as he can muster. Speaking of Ninja Ninja, he occasionaly shows to up engage you in a game of Body-part Poker. Enter the swarm of enemies and try to dismember specific parts to make a hand, and receive a reward for your suceess. It may be a bit morbid, but it helps train you to properly use focus, and breaks the monotony a bit when going through large levels.

For all it's good, the game is not without it's flaws. The camera could definitely use some work, and the platforming, while not bad enough to get frustrating, is still a bit tricky in some areas, sometimes due to the camera's perspective. The game does a HORRIBLE job of explaining some of the things you can do. I was stuck on a certain boss for nearly an hour, as I wasn't sure how to properly perform the "bullet slicing" move that's briefly mentioned in the manual. In game, there wasn't any indication that you could do so to begin with. Also, I'm not sure if it's due to the faster load times on the slim, or if it's just a bug in the game, but during loading screens, there are sometimes scripted scenes that will take place, and they frequently get cut off due to the level loading before the speech finishes.

All in all, I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the series. Just be sure not to play it around anyone you'd consider to be "polite company". Ninja Ninja tends to blurt out some fairly offensive and sexist stuff from time to time.

Want Afro Samurai Discount?

Because being a fun, ultraviolent anime blast wasn't enough, Afro Samurai makes the splash into the video game world courtesy of Namco Bandai. Samuel L. Jackson returns to lend his voice to the revenge-driven Afro as well as his foul-mouthed sidekick Ninja Ninja, in a storyline that more or less follows the plot of the first Afro Samurai flick, as you take on hordes of enemies and dish out bloody punishment. The fighting is mostly fun, as are the boss battles which are orchestrated wonderfully, but the best part of the game is undoubtedly the graphics and art design. Afro Samurai looks and moves fluidly and beautifully (although there is some noticable frame-rate issues here on the PS3 version of the game), and the game's soundtrack and voice acting are excellent as well. What really hurts the game however lie mostly in its controls and platforming. You can't really string together attacks, and the game's platforming elements are disappointingly clumsy. The game's schizy camera doesn't help matters either, and the fact that you can adjust the Y-axis but not the X-axis is mind-boggling. Still, there's a lot to admire with what you get here in Afro Samurai, but it's just a shame that a little more polish wasn't put on here, otherwise we could have had something really great. Still, the game is worth a look despite its flaws, and if you're a fan of the anime, you'll definitely want to check this out.

The detail on this faceplate is incredible! It has a few places where the paint has been "worn" off and the wood looks very natural. There's also a few paint drips and other things.

But don't be because like anything else in life you have to work for it unless you have someone doing it for you, but then again you're not learning anything on your own so I can say for the first time I will give this product a shot soon and when I cover my ps3 fat I will come back and comment on that but until then thanks amazon and System.com. ;-)

the skin is extreeemmlyyy hard to get on perfectly even with the water based solution. if you are serious about wanting a system skin i recommend going to their website , its cheaper on the real website than amazon. i aslo recommend getting 2, its freaking impossible to get it on perfect, with there being air bubbles, scratches, and not getting it on straight. Athough...the controller is pretty easy to put on. the skin itself looks good but remember to read the directions ... like 8 times before you try to put it on. or find a clip on plastic skin, thats what i would rather of gotten. if you take the skin off of the ps3 it leaves a mess, i have dirt sports where dirt stuck to the glue left on the ps3, and with the contoller, over time it doesnt stay smooth around the edges. GO TO . i use this site and earn tons of free stuff directly from amazon, no money or credit card needed.

I just got this game pad yesterday but had to give my feed back righ away this seat is great the vibration the sounds makes you feel like your there in Call Of duty you can hear the grass crush beneat your feet the gun fire sound like the real thing right behind your ears its for people 200lb and less but I'm 215lb and it still works great if a little kid sat in it they would fall out the virbration is so strong so I highly, highly recommed this game seat I was worried at frist because the output are for audio output not HDMI but you can set your PS3 to dual output and it still works and you can keep your HDMI cable connected and while racing you can feel and hear your car engine and you only need the charger when the seat is not in use its completly wireless (batteries included)ok, another thing some people my find that they lose there HDMI audio to the TV while bought audio and HDMI cables are connected if you have a good TV like I do I had to go to the audio settings and set my TV to Digital output in order to get sound from the chair and your HD TV and I only told you this cos I recommended this game chair. You can also leave the power connected and audio directly connected to the seat during game play.

i like the chair and the fact that you can use it on pc and ps3 but what i don't like is the set desine for one reason the vibrators that you sit on are very hard and if you are bony in the back side they can make you very sore and uneasy to relax also they dig in to your back other then that i love the seat its a great idea all around but i don't recommend it for the real skinny people with bony back sides

This is the ultimate fighting stick and truly brings the arcade experience home. The sheer size and weight of the stick brings home the point that this is the king of all arcade stick controllers.

It is designed in collaboration with TAITO to recreate the TAITO "VEWLIX" Arcade cabinet. The stick uses authentic Sanwa stick and buttons and has other functions classic to the Real Arcade Pro. series like the turbo and the stick control toggle function. It also has a non-slip surface on the entire bottom and comes with an additional option board that you can mount the controller on to further enhance your stability.

The main feature for this controller has to be the fact that you can easily access the internal of the controller by simply unscrewing 3 screws. Maintenance and customization is a breeze to any other controllers out there.

Overall, this controller addresses all the players wants and needs and is a masterpiece of a arcade stick controller.

A must buy for any player serious for an authentic arcade experience.

GENERAL:

I purchased the stick when it was on sale here for $65 off the list price and it was worth every penny.

I've used several joysticks (Hori Fighting Stick 2, HRAP3, MadCatz SE (with full Sanwa) and TE Round 1 FightSticks) and the VLX would be my weapon of choice any day. When using it on a table the rubber bottom ensures the stick will not move. The wooden option board is a nice touch as well if you want to mount your stick to it, but I find simply placing the stick on the board works well. Note the stick does not have any protruding rubber feet to potentially interfere with lap use. Lap use may not be as comfortable compared to other sticks due to the weight (12 lbs) but you'll get used to it. In comparison the HRAP3 weighs 5.7 lbs.

LOOKS:

The VLX is the most beautiful mass produced stick I've seen yet. While most of the black parts of the stick are matte the rest provides a nice glossy contrast. The top art is a nice metallic red with some mirror accents and you really need to either see the VLX in person or watch some videos to see how light interacts with the glossy parts.

SOUND:

The sound of the joystick and buttons are much more hollow when used and that's due to the sheer physical size of the housing. Not only is this much wider than the Round 1 TE FightStick but it is taller as well. The hollow sound doesn't bother me though.

USAGE:

Let me start by mentioning one of my favorite features: the angled palm rest. I was afraid I wasn't going to like it since I've been using the Round 1 MadCatz TE Stick with the flat surface, but I was able to make an immediate adjustment to the angled palm rest and love it. Using this stick feels much more natural to me.

The joystick (JLF) and buttons (OBSF) are your typical Sanwa variety and the general consensus on them is they are high quality arcade parts that can take a beating and are great to use. If you've ever used these Sanwa parts or own any variety of a MadCatz TE stick then you'll know what they feel like: the joystick is responsive and the buttons are sensitive.

I've opened the stick to replace the L1 and L2 buttons with the included button plugs and everything inside the stick is cleanly wired and organized. I put the 2 extra buttons in the button holders found inside the stick in case any of my main 6 have issues.

The USB cable storage compartment is large enough for the 3m cable to easily fit. I placed the included cleaning cloth in the back of the storage compartment to clean the surface here and there.

Transporting the stick has been an issue due to the irregular large size and fortunately Hori released a travel bag made to fit the VLX. Unfortunately they're charging a hefty price ($39.99) and since their site is the primary store selling it the shipping cost pushes the bag close to $50. For $50 you could almost get the HRAP3!

CONCLUSION:

To me this is the king of joysticks. It reminds me of the times I spent playing SF4 in Japanese arcades. At the price point this is a joystick for enthusiasts, collectors, and those who aren't hesitant to spend. However if you get this joystick you won't regret it.

Buy Real Arcade Pro: 3 Premium VLX Now

I've played in arcades in Japan, and until now, I have yet to feel anything close to the actual feel of the arcade machines.

Then a friend recommended this to me, and now I recommend this to all of you.

This fighting stick feels like heaven in your hands. The resistance of the joystick feels loose enough to not have to put your whole body weight into moving, but not light enough to input more commands than you want to.

The buttons have the right amount of spring to them, and the layout feels very natural to play on.

It's a great feeling to have this behemoth in your hands.

CONS:

The only thing that really bothers me is how big the stick is; it's roughly almost 2 feet in length. Also, the joystick and the buttons seem rather close for how long the stick itself is.

Over-all, it's a fantastic piece of equipment.

Read Best Reviews of Real Arcade Pro: 3 Premium VLX Here

HRAP vlx is by far one of the most sturdiest, heaviest arcade joystick I've ever played with. With the addition to the sanwa parts that come with the joystick, feels like you're really in the arcades. I've been playing fighting games with this joystick, and I usually play aggressively, therefore my motions using the stick is pretty forceful, however, no matter how much force I put in, It is still extremely sturdy and strong and doesn't move as much. This product is definitely recomended if you're a die hard arcade fan and want the full experience of being in the arcades at your home.

The only thing that I see as something to look out for is that when pressing the buttons, it does feel slightly hollow compared with the MadCatz tournament edition fightstick. I believe it is because the box itself has a lot of space inside and the top is slightly thin. Yet this feel is really subjective, I personally don't mind it. Especially when Im focusing on beating the bosses, I don't even really notice it while i'm furiously trying to win a game. The price is pretty expensive too. All in all this is a great joystick and I do recommend this product for those die hard arcade gamers!

Want Real Arcade Pro: 3 Premium VLX Discount?

man, pretty much what all other reviewers said about this stick is all true. it feels like i'm playing with silk. sooooo goood!

and that just made my disappointment THAT much worse when i came to find out that sony has yet to (and probably never will) release updates to get it to function with ps2 backwards compatibility. i have a ridiculous library of ps2 fighters, and that was one of the deciding factors on getting this stick.....

again. THIS STICK WILL NOT WORK WITH THE PS2 PORTION OF BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE PS3'S.

on the other hand, it DOES work wonderfully with everything else! playstation 1 games running on ps3 ARE compatible and play amazingly with it. and you can usb it into a pc and most things run fine with no other software involved (at least on win 7)!!!

the few problems i had (specifically with "super street fighter 4 ae") were all solved by using "x360ce"(search google. its easier than it looks to use it). any other issues are solved with "joy2key".

i went into this purchase expecting that people over-exaggerated how good it is. they weren't. they were under-exaggerating. within five minutes, i actually knew i was better at fighters than i had ever been before. what you attempt to input into this thing generally is what gets read by it. wanna do 90 dragon punches in a row in your sleep (on your first try, when you used to have trouble pulling even ONE off in the heat of the moment before)? no problem!!! i would compare "coming off a Mad Catz Street Fighter IV FightStick into THIS CONTROLLER" to "selling your old run down station wagon and getting a brand new sports car".

as sad/mad as i was that i couldn't play my ps2 fighters(and i was REALLY mad), after using it, i almost could care less. this controller is mad expensive, but if you can afford it (and don't care/are willing to overlook the lack of ps2 compatibility), then it's more than worth it! the fact i have no choice but to give it a perfect review even though it lacked an important (to me) feature should definitely say something about the product (and in hori's defense, sony is entirely responsible for the lack of functionality.)

(yes, i'm sure a custom made stick is probably better, but this might as well be one. and heck, it seems so easy to mod and repair, if you dislike something you can just change it!)

As just a casual PS3 user, I bought the wireless Icon controller with built in keyboard mainly for typing text on internet applications & to input data on some game menus as it is sometimes very tedious to type any kind of text on a standard, Playstation controller . As all aftermarket controllers for PS3, a USB dongle must be used, but the included dongle also has two additional USB ports. If you are using the Playstation Eye like I am for my Move Controllers, the Eye Camera will not work if its cable is plugged into the Icon controller dongle USB ports. The Playstation Eye Camera must be plugged straight into the PS3 USB.

The overall size of the controller is almost identical to the Sony PS3 controller, so all of the buttons are positioned identically to the Sony controller and it ergonomically feels the same. Only the "start" & "select" buttons are positioned slightly differently in which they are positioned above the keyboard on the Icon controller. I also like the fact that there are rubberized grips on the lower left & right sides of the Icon controller that makes it more comfortable for your hands in comparison to the stock, Sony wireless controller that is plastic only. I noticed this when I used the Icon controller many times & switched to the Sony controller to play one game to discover how uncomfortable the stock Sony controller felt without the rubberized grips. After I finished the game, I switched back to the Icon controller because it was more comfortable to use with my hands than the stock, Sony controller.

Although the keyboard works very fine, my only complaint is it is very small like the slide-out keyboards on mobile smart phones. I can type with it fairly easily because I have small fingers, but it might not be as comfortable to other users.

Overall, a great controller and in fact many times I'm using it as the main controller for my PS3 instead of the stock, Sony wireless controller. Recommended!

Want Play n Type Wireless Controller with Keypad for PS3 Discount?

I purchased this for texting people in an online MMO (FF XIV).

The Controller has a good weight to it and comfort grips. The keyboard is a little small but it has to be to as the controller is only slightly bigger than your standard PS3 controller. The joints are a stiffer than my Sony controller, but I like it as I feel like I have more control when moving my character only slightly.

The Keyboard is set firmly in the middle with your select and start buttons above it. Texting is similar to that of a slide out phone keypad, but with slightly smaller keys. The keyboard buttons are slanted to the left and right respectively so you can tap the raised part of the button. I've made a few typos but I an getting used to it.

Upon receiving, I followed instructions (plug in, hit home twice and it connected). However, I found it did not work to control my character in-game or any other in-game function. I calibrated it via the PS3 menu and it works perfectly now.

All in all, I love it. I gave 4 stars as the keyboard can be difficult to type on, but I'm sure this will resolve as I use it more. If you have larger fingers, I do not know if this will work, unless you can use your fingernails :)

"i have read reviews on these skins and if you have never installed skins before, you MUST read the directions and be very patient when you are installing the pieces. I recommend starting with the smaller pieces first. I use a squirt bottle with water and a little alchohol and spray it on the skin. my daughter was very impressed how well it looks and so was I. "

I read a lot of reviews about how hard the application would be but it was really easy for me once I read the instructions TWICE (which is stated to do in the instructions) I used a dish soap and water solution to apply the pieces and pressed out the air bubbles with a towel covered credit card and lightly air blew the system when finished. I took the advice of another poster of starting with the small pieces first which made the bigger piece less overwhelming. The ONLY downfall is that you had to kind of guess where the smaller pieces went sometimes because there was not any layout marking, but it was not that hard to get it together at all. Read the instructions, make the solution, and take your time. This was my first time installing one and all of my friends love it they think I actually bought a pink ps3.

The Fight Night franchise has set the bar for boxing simulations since it debuted on the PS2 and Xbox with Fight Night 2004. Since then the series has always been able to evolve with it's gameplay, controls and graphics. The games have definitely come a long way since their current generation days. With the move towards next generation consoles the franchise has shifted towards faster gameplay and high-definition graphics. In comes EA Sports with its latest iteration Fight Night Champion. Does this release deliver the knockout or does it fall flat on the mat? Read the review to find out.

Champion Mode

Fight Night Champion has a mode called Champion Mode. For the first time in the series the game features a storyline complete with cut scenes and professional voice work. The storyline is based on the career of fighter Andre Bishop that treads familiar boxing movie territory but it's very well done regardless. Andre Bishop is a rising star in the boxing world and after refusal to sign with a corrupt promoter he finds himself behind bars with his career in a downward spiral. You take control of Andre Bishop as he rebuilds his career while on his way to becoming a boxing champion. He's a likeable character and it's great to follow his path towards redemption and success. Unfortunately Champion Mode lasts only a few hours so it can be completed in one sitting. This is the first time that an EA Sports game has received a mature rating. I was happy about that. The fights are more brutal. The game is darker and grittier. Even the language is explicit. The game does feature an impressive roster of 50 fighters. That's the largest roster in a fight night game thus far. There are 21 venues in which you can compete in.

There are certain scenarios that you are put in. For example, in one match your fighter breaks his hand. To add to that you must knock your opponent down at the same time so it's not simply about winning. Another match has you knocking down your opponent only with the use of body shots. Another scenario has you winning only by knockout. You also get trophies and achievements for defeating the game's huge roster of fighters.

Graphics

Fight Night Champion features some of the best looking graphics that I have seen in a video game. The fighters themselves are very detailed and look really good. Skin texture is amazing with realistic looking scars. Blood fills the air after a devastating punch and it drips from open wounds. A fighter's face ripples after getting tagged with a huge punch. Sweat flies off a fighter's forehead. Tape on a boxer's gloves gets covered in blood as does the boxing ring. Fighter entrances are well done. The crowd is realistic and adds to the atmosphere rather than looking like cardboard cutouts. Even the ring girls look really good. The terrific presentation makes you truly feel as if you are watching a boxing match.

Audio

Another aspect of Fight Night Champion that I really liked was the audio. Punches land with a vicious thud. Fighters react really well when they are in pain. The soundtrack features hip hop themed music which works really well for the game. The trainer will give his fighter advice between each round. The crowd gets alive when they cheer and boo. Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas do a good job of calling the fights.

Controls

Previous entries in the series featured a complex punching system. However, there is a new addition this time around which is called Full Spectrum Control. Every punch is thrown by flicking the stick in a given direction which gives you more options as to what kinds of punches you want to throw. They can be thrown by pressing the buttons as well. You really feel like you are in control. Button mashing will not only result in a lost fight but also in tiring out your fighter very quickly. Gone is the haymaker and this it time it is replaced by a modifier which adds extra force to every punch. Blocking is done with one button to make thing simpler. Flash knockout requires a player to utilize defense effectively. Getting KO'd with one punch is always a threat.

Legacy Mode

Fight Night Champion features a solid Legacy mode with a couple of flaws. You create a fighter and take him up the ranks to become number one. Your created fighter's stats are pretty bad to start with but you can improve upon them as you win. There is no story to push you forward. Instead, you just compete from one boxing match to another. I didn't care for the training mini-games. They seemed more of a chore than fun. They were really pointless because you don't even get punished for not successfully completing them.

Online

Fight Night Champion also features a solid online experience. Your created fighter won't start off strong but you can build his stats as you move along. EA Sports really did a good job with the online aspect. I could see it becoming even better in the future. You even have the ability to create your own gym which is a really neat feature. Other fighters can take part in the gym as well. Regular bouts and tournaments can be set up.

Conclusion

Fight Night Champion is a great addition to series. I am really glad that the game was given a mature rating due to it's grittier and more brutal atmosphere. The storyline in Campaign Mode was compelling and exciting though the mode itself is too short. The huge roster of fighters is impressive. The graphics are some of the best that I have seen in a video game. The audio is well done. I liked the Full Spectrum Control system. I really enjoyed the different scenarios that you need to fulfill throughout Campaign Mode. Legacy Mode is good but it does have a couple of flaws with that being the training mini games. It's capped off by a solid online offering. Fight Night Champion is the best entry in the series and is one of the best sports video games of the year.

Fight Night Champion, is by far the best boxing game ever created. The game was made with detail as each fighter looks like the ACTUAL fighter. Fight Night Champion's campaign is what makes this Fight Night different from others. I'm very pleased with the M rating, since it allowed this game to open up to a whole other level. Once I put the game in I was just blown away with the graphics and game play. It puts you immediately in the campaign which was different but got me hooked the minute it started. Fight Night Champion has a large selection of fighters, something I thoroughly enjoyed bringing up old fighters and new upcoming fighters.

The Online game play is NOT laggy at ALL. That must be one of my favorite things. Fighting against someone else online couldn't be smoother.

The ONLY thing I found confusing and a LITTLE disappointing was how in the BANTAMWEIGHT class, you only have 1 fighter to choose from (Nonito Donaire). To use him, you would need to fight a different weight class as it's only him in his class, BUT that doesn't take away from a game that was made for Boxing fans that brought me TO a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. If you LIKE boxing this game is for you. If you like graphics, fighting, details and a great Campaign mode then this game IS FOR YOU :D!.

The Champion mode actually does a really good job of outlining the strengths and weaknesses of this game.

Strength:

1. Lots of time spent on graphics makes this a beautiful looking game.

2. More emphasis placed on footwork and head movement

3. Movies during the Champion mode gives the game lots of action

4. Unique boxing styles with more work put into making each boxer look like himself

Weaknesses:

1. Inconsistent Range, there are lots of jabs and numerous punches that just simply..... well..... disappear with no explanation, they were not blocked or dodged but didn't land...in the replay it shows your fist actually punching the opponent with no reaction. To add insult to injury there is a counter opportunity created from these unfortunate moments. I guess this might just be a case of the graphics being so good that they actually catch major flaws in the game.

2. The Champion mode is a little bit too scripted. At some points you might as well have Rau and Ken performing Shouryuken punches. If you are a boxing purist like myself who isn't so much into old fashion rock em sock em them you might find the contender type music and scripted gameplay over the top.

3. Over exaggerated reaction to power punches. If you think Ring King was the greatestest technical boxing game ever because an uppercut could literally send opponents through the rafters then you will love the way fighters reel and rock after body shots as if they have been shot with M16 assault rifles (and then get back up?). Its a little dramatic for me though on anything less than a K.O.

Conclusion:

Imagine that while Madden on Frahchise mode you were told, "Kid you have to run the ball for the first half of the game to wear the Steelers down then you can pass" and the GAME ITSELF, actually making sure that no pass was successful in the first half. Imagine how cheesy that would be. Well that is Fight Night Champions Career mode in a nut shell. I find it hard to give it a high rating simply because it almost intentionally diminished its strengths with very avoidable weaknesses. I'm actually sticking with Fight Night Round 4, where the game play is much more realistic.

The vs mode is what saved this from being 1 star in my opinion.

First of all, where is Floyd Mayweather, Sergio Martinez, Vic Dachininan, Saul Alverez, Yuri Gamboa and Andre Ward? Why is Tommy Morrison, the late Diego Coralles, and Kendall Holt on this game? This is not a game for true boxing fans because the biggest boxing stars are not on it. As far as controls are concerned, Round 4 was better....much better. I hit the button 2'x but he threw 5 punches...smh. Its great that Mike Tyson is on this game but his accurate fighting style is not portrayed. The defense sucks as well. The storyline was a good add but it has its shortcomings.

Overall, this is the best boxing game ever made. I will break it down for you.

PROS

1. Amazing controls that allow you to hit in a number of different ways very intricately and precisely. Does not get boring quickly.

2. Graphics are insane. They did an unreal job of the graphics while playing. Crisp detail.

3. Story is interesting and it gives you a number of different venues.

4. Multiple ways to play. Champion mode, Legacy mode, and online.

5. VERY challenging fights. Every fight is different and they throw in little twists to keep the game fresh in Champ mode.

CONS

1. The videos for cut scenes and story lines are pretty choppy I'm not going to lie. It's kinda disappointing and strange at the same time. The in game graphics and smoothness blow the videos away. Not so bad that your getting dizzy but I will admit there were some videos that got pretty choppy.

2. In champ mode they just throw you into the mix. They never formally teach you the best way to throw punches and how. As you progress you realize your way behind the 8 ball in fighting and it's kind of up to you to figure out the best way to fight. They give you little tips before the fight on how to beat the opponent which is all well and good but you still need to execute.

Overall great game. Hope this helped.
