Stormrise is a very good game! The characters and their dialog are terrible, but when your past that you will have a blast playing this RTS (Real Time Strategy). Allot of people who have reviewed this game have given it a bad review because they have compared this game to command and conquer and halo wars (both great games). They need to under stand that this is so different than those two games. The games mechanics are very easy to use and the new "whip select" method I LOVE it, this allows you to easily and quickly change from one unit to the next by just slapping the analog stick in the direction of the unit you want to command. They also allow you to use indirect command to allow you to advance with allot of units instead of one at a time.

Graphicsthis game has a good amount of detail for a RTS, the walls the characters and the environment all look really well and this is the first RTS game I have played where the building are actually with in a realistic scale to the troops and vehicles.

Game playThe game is so easy to just get lost in the power of commanding your army and hours will fly by as you build your nodes with turrets, shields, refineries, and warp gates. Then use the energy these nodes create to buy infantry, elite soldiers, sentinel snipers, Combat vehicles, sentinel scouts, tanks, aircrafts, and commanders in power suites. As you begin to build your army you want to keep control of your nodes, have snipers on the roofs, and sentinel surrounding the parameter to keep a solid fortress. Then have your troops advance on a enemy node to capture it and turn it to your advantage until all node are yours. This can be very fun as you have the ability to switch to any of your units in a flick of the analog stick just as you see the enemy has a huge army storming its way to retake the nodes and then you have a real battle on your hands. The only thing that is a little bothersome is the camera control but its a minor problem.

SoundOne of my most favorite things is the music. As the battle heats up the sick guitar driven metal music kicks in making you wants to tear apart the enemy and take all they have. Sound fx are decent and are nothing that stands out from what I can tell so far.

MultiplayerThis game allows for you to take your domination online to your friends or strangers which is a very tense experience because you now have what could be a lesser, equal, or greater opponet(s) against you so you will never know until your teams collide in combat. For practice you can play skirmish mode were you can play the AI in any map or setting just like online.

OverallI purchased this item brand new for $30 against what all the reviewers gave this game and I am so glad I did, this will be a game that I will enjoy for a long time. If you don't have this game, pick it up ( Its only $30!!!) and you will have a very good RTS for the console side of this genre. I give this gave five stars because I believe that a 4 is too low. out of 10 I give this game a very solid 8.5

If you give Stormrise a chance you'll find its a very enjoyable rts. I like its slower pace and huge environments with battles taking place on tops of towering skyscrapers all the way deep down to the depths of underground parking garages, this make Stormrise an excellent addition to anyones gaming collection.

It really adds more strategy and makes the player fight for every inch of ground to advance so don't expect short battles or cheap tactics like "rushing" to work in this game because you'll end up dead.

The graphics are very nice and right up there with Endwar, but everything's on a much larger scale in this game. No more tiny little buildings not much bigger than a tank, cityscapes have finally been done perfectly in Stormrise with its huge towering skyscrapers...

The game has a few flaws but nothing that can't be patched later.

The controls aren't game breaking, infact they are very similar to Endwar to some extent.

Stormrise is ambitious,innovative and alot of fun,I recommend buying this game.

This game tries to bring up to date the starcraft/warcraft type games from the PC to the PS3 platform. I have played it for a while. The controls take getting used to and some maps are hard to navigate. The action sometimes happens so fast you never get a chance to respond you can be fighting on multiple fronts and miss a lot of things. This means you are relegated to setting up strong defenses and only sending out one sortie at a time.

The plot line sounds fantastic but I would have enjoyed cinematic transitions more and more development of the plot.

I give it 3.5 stars but if you are a die hard starcraft fan you might consider it a 4 star title

Shipping time was expected and arrived in one piece. Took out the old laser and put in this new one and after testing Fallout to see if the laser would read, I found it working. But as I turned off the console and then back on to test the laser again, I found my first gen PS3 unable to read the disc, as before with the insufficient laser.

I know I did not make any mistakes as far as installing, so I must have gotten the one rotten tomato from the bag.

My PS3 stopped reading discs of any kind and I needed to fix it. This had happened once before and I replaced the entire blu-ray drive at a cost of about $90. It worked, but after about six months, stopped reading discs again. I could tell that the laser was moving and trying to read the disc, but nothing would happen, not even the disc icon would show up on the TV indicating the system was reading a disc. It's as if the laser eye went blind.

This time I decided to just swap the laser because $35 sounded way better than $90.

I received this laser yesterday, installed it, and now my PS3 reads all discs again! I hope this one will last more than six months but if not, I'll either get another laser for $35 or buy a PS4.

So I don't normally write reviews but after my PS3 laser went up and I started getting frustrated with all the laser I kept buying that weren't working, so I feel it's only right to write this review.

My original laser is off a fat 60GB PS3(model no. CECHA01), so it has the brown clip, this one has the black clip. I kept reading that it matter, but it didn't, it works great! Quick and easy to install! If you can get to the deck, then you can easily take the laser out of it with only 3 screws. Honestly I tried installing a deck too thinking it be easier but that was more of a pain then just switching out lasers!

I'm so glad to finally found a laser that works and If I don't come back to edit my review, it's cause my laser is still working! If it blows up in like a few months, you bet I'll be back here preaching some more! ;)

Great kit that saves you money over buying each item separately. However, WARNING the media hub will NOT work with the new slim PS3s. This was disappointing. I was looking forward to having more USBs available. It will only work on the older PS3s. I'm not going to say it's misleading, but it would've been nice to know that it doesn't work with the newer slim models. Other than that the remote, charger, and HDMI cables all work perfectly so far.

This is a good kit but the photos were deceiving in that they show that the USB hub has a card reader.

Overall I think it gives u your money's worth and more.

HDMI cable: Works great, no complains. Plus: it's well designed, I have the feelin that it'll last for the whole life of my ps3. When you compare some of the absurd PS3 HDMI cable prices, this is a bargain.

Charge base: Works as expected. Just about any usb to wall charger could work just as well , but it is a nice addition to the set, and as i said, it does exactly what it is supposed to for up to two controllers.

USB Hub: It doesn't work with PS3 slim, although I knew that already from reading a very useful review. I can't seem to understand why a USB hub would need a special configuration o manufacturing in order to work with different versions of PS3. Nyko just would't go the extra mile to assemble a "universal" PS3 usb hub. It's a shame.

DVD Remote: It works, but it's no bluetooth remote. It has a wide range but an obstacle may get in the way making u move idiotically in search for a right spot to use it. Also, it requires an adapter connected to a usb port, which ironically wouldn't be such an issue if the media hub actually worked.

As I said, the pack is worth it's value (29.99 if u bought alongside the console) for the HDMI cable and the dual Charge Base alone. The DVD Remote is a welcome addition, but the Media hub is pure junk unless u own an older PS3 version, only up to 80 GB.

The HDMI cable works flawlessly on a 1080p monitor. Very durable build.

The remote is not bluetooth, so you need to plug an adapter into one of the USB ports.

A USB hub with three ports is included in the pack, so it's not much of an issue. But I found it interesting that it did not come with the memory card reader as is the case with the individual unit. Snapped right onto my 80gb PS3.

The charge base is my favourite part of the pack. About the size of a stapler, all you have to do is plug a plastic adapter onto the controller's USB port and drop it in either of the slots on the charge base. (The controller's face should be facing the lights.) You can even keep the adapters on while playing. Two indicator lights let you know either of the controller's charge status. Green = fully charged/empty slot. Red = charging. I do feel that the lights are a little cheap-looking, but that's no problem. Oh, and a handy little power button on the opposite end of the charge base. Perfectly sized and easily depressed.

If you just bought a PS3, this is the perfect pack to accompany your purchase.

Wow, I can't believe the most useful review in Amazon for this game is plagiarized from Gamespot. I mean, it's not even the complete review, but at least it's one of the few that actually talked about the game. There's one guy who says he had a problem being sent the regular version instead of the Platinum one, another one complaining about a scratched disk and another one saying the game is too violent for his grandson.

Those three dimwits have lowered the score of a fantastic game for personal problems they've had that have absolutely nothing to do with it, so, even though I've acquired this game through the PSN and not on Amazon, I'm here to write a factual review about this game. But first, a little history.

I have never played the first Saint's Row because I only recently acquired a PS3 and I used to game on PCs, where that game has never been released. I purchased this game on the PC on a sale on Steam, but back then my PC wasn't good enough to handle it, and I hear the PC version is buggy anyway. So, anyway, having now a good PC, on a whim I decided to purchase the then-recently released Saint's Row: The Third. I absolutely LOVED that game. It was fun personified. Well, if the game was a person, so I guess it was fun gamified.

So later I had the chance to get the PS3 version of THIS game thanks to Playstation Plus, which I did. I thought: "I loved the third game, so I think the second one must be almost as good". I was wrong. This game is EVEN BETTER. I won't talk about the differences between both games, but let it be known that if you enjoy one, you're bound to enjoy the other, even though your mileage may vary.

You see, the gist of Saint's Row is that it's GTA done right. Yes, yes, GTA is, in its own right, a good game and all, but it's guilty of some terrible problems that people have overlooked because of the great publicity that franchise has had. I mean, it wasn't the first game that allowed all the things it did, but so many people thought it that now games like Saint's Row are called GTA clones. And it's OK that they are, when they deserve it. Saint's Row is not a GTA clone, it just belongs on the same genre, but it's quite different.

If you've played GTA you know the basic gameplay mechanics, and if you haven't, it's an open world game. The city is completely open since the beginning of the game for you to travel anywhere you like. The game is third person, and you can walk, drive every vehicle you can find (either buying or stealing) and attack every person in sight (or even help them if you can and feel like), enemies or not, with your fists, or with melee/fire weapons. You have a story, and missions within it, but you can leave them aside and set yourself to roam the world at your leisure, either in pursuit of side-missions or just to have fun.

The most important part, and this is one of the things that make Saint's Row 2 more enjoyable than GTA III-IV is that it doesn't take itself seriously. This game is made with humor, and that makes it much easier to like the main characters and root for them. Sure, the game is violent and you end up making here things that might make a GTA character wince, but the context of this game makes things funny instead of terrifying, specially if you like dark humor.

Another great thing is the gameplay. One of the main problem I had with GTA was that, for a game that boasted about freedom, they had exactly one way for you to do the missions and you couldn't deviate from the set path. In SR2, you are given an objective and then you're free to achieve it as you please. You are not forced to use a particular vehicle or way unless, of course, it's an important part of your mission. For instance, if you want to pretend to be a policeman, it's quite logical you'll need a police car.

Another thing that SR2 has that GTA doesn't is personalization. You can make your own main character, male or female, and you have a great set of options for customization. And you can change your looks afterwards thanks to the magic of plastic surgery. You can buy different outfits too in stores you find in the city. Either entire costumes or different parts to personalize

The side missions are another great thing. You have from the simple, like playing hitman and killing certain targets to the bizarre, like smearing waste on buildings to lower their property value to the hard, like using a helicopter to rescue people from gunfights and transport them hanging from the landing skids with their hands. Or, if you feel in the mood, take all your clothes off and go streaking (this is censored for the benefit of the people on the ESRB, who are sensitive to the sight of the human body, but absolutely desensitized to the gory dismemberment of people).

The main missions also add some variety to the genre and, again, some very valuable humor. The roughly resumed storyline is that you, the main character, are in charge of The Saints, a gang who wants to reclaim rule over the city. In order to do that, you need to get rid of the other gangs. Doing this gives you access to more stuff or missions. Pretty much everything you do in the game helps you accomplish or unlock something, which makes the game feel more rewarding than others in which you have to repeat the same unfun task over and over in order to unlock one simple thing.

So, bottom line: do yourself a favor and buy this game. And then do the game a favor and put a favorable review of it here on Amazon, so it gets the score it rightfully deserves.

This game is full of glitches and bugs. It freezes up and crashes the PS3 all the time. I stopped playing just because of this. The game play was fun buy the amount of crashes was unreasonable, I did have all the latest game patches applied.

This game picks up five years after the events of the first game. Your character is in prison, and has just awoken from a coma. At this point, you get to fully customize your character. Male or female, skin color, voice, hair style, etc. After customization is done, you meet another former Saint named Carlos who helps you break out of jail. He informs you that the Third Street Saints are virtually a thing of the past. The former leader disappeared, Johnny Gat is facing death row, and everyone else is dead or left. To make matters worse, a large corporation named Ultor has taken the Saints neighborhood and turned it into a new downtown private sector, with the old church you ran the gang from being used as a monument to the "gang problems of the past."

You start out having to find a new hideout and round up your gang leaders (your lackies). This is where you rescue Johnny Gat (who is easily the best character in the series), meet a woman named Shaundi and a man named Pearce. You assign each person to a different gang to get info from, and then you can start working on the missions to clear out the rest of the gangs.

The gangs you deal with are the Ronin, led by Shogo Akuji. They are kind of like the Yakuza, and are recognizable by their yellow clothes and yellow vehicles.. The Brotherhood is a gang of tattooed thugs led by Maero, who is a very large and intimidating man, The Brotherhood are recognized by their red clothes, red vehicles, and excessive tattoos. And the Sons of Samedi, which is a gang of voodoo weirdos led by a man known simply as The General, The Sons are recognized by green clothes and green vehicles.

Once you clear out the other gangs and take out their leaders, the corporation Ultor decides to move against the Saints, virtually using the Saints to take out the other gangs, leaving the Saints as the last bastion of gang violence in the city. The leader of Ultor is planning on launching a political career by "single-handedly" cleaning up the gang problem in Stillwater. You fight against the Ultor army, and take out the leader. Effectively making the leader of the Third Street Saints the new "boss" of Stillwater.

You also get the option to play many different mini-games. Insurance fraud, pimping, drug dealing, body guard for celebrities, etc. All are optional, and aren't required. But they are a lot of fun, and a quick way to make cash for customization purposes or to buy properties.

The game is a lot of fun, and while called a GTA clone is anything but. In fact, while GTA is taking a more serious approach with their past few games and leaning away from the goofiness they used to be known for, Saints Row 2 ups the laughs. The game is a lot of fun, the missions are awesome, and the characters are memorable. Buy this game. Or at least rent it.

I had never played the first or any other saint's row before this one, although i have played all the GTA's. This one is fun, and is similar to GTA. Their is a lot of cussing and the streets feel artificial so its not much fun just driving around but its cheap now and is a fun way to spend some hours.

i was really excited about this game. i somehow got the impression there were free hunts at some point. i found out the free hunts have the same lame timer as all the other hunts. the only difference is you get to hunt as many as you can in the time. however the timer is a joke, it runs out so fast you practically have to run through the brush like a stampeding rhino to get to the next herd. this makes all the interesting tracking options invalid and unuseable. the graphics are nice i love the enviornments and the really cool atv, BUT having a timer so unrealistic you cant enjoy any of the features.

the logs and such that provide cover are kinda cool but you can only approach them from one side. this means you can sneak up on the herd and come up to the cover press X (for prone) and actually lie down behind the log with your back to the herd. and while you are prone you have a small window left to right to aim, so you cant target anything to the sides.

i like the spoting points and the overhead planning views, the only problem is if the herd gets spooked they run off and the game still gives you the prompts and views as if they were still there.

the gun buying/modding feature is kinda interesting but really kinda pointless. its only useful to unlock a new gun type but really whats the point in making us unlock a gun type if you only get points for using the guns they want you to anyway.

i love the voice actor for this guy, it just has to be adam west, if not hes dead on identical. he cracks me up every time he talks, which i guess says something about the game when youre spending more time agreeing with mayor west than tracking a target.

love the graphics, great enviornments, like the vehicles, good scopes, like the vitals highlights on the targets, cool voice actor......... unrealistic timer ruins it all.

This game was purchased for me as a gift. At first I was apprehensive as I thought it would be climbing up a tree and sitting in a (deer) stand and waiting for hours for an animal. I was delightfully surprised to learn that was not the case. This game is a lot of fun and not difficult for the non-hunter to play. I have spent hours playing this game. If you want a break from reality and hunt in different states and countries with excellent graphics and scenery then this game is an excellent choice. I would have liked for there to have been more career hunting levels as it was somewhat easy to beat the game. Still fun and I would recommend this game.

This is a great game with great graphics, and if you shoot in the right spot it will go into slow motion until it hits a Big Game. But one down fall if you have a gun it works but the aim is way off, when you shoot high you got to bring the gun's aim above your device or the TV to make it work. There is no adjustments in the game to make it right on. But either then that overall if you like hunting this is a great game to start out and learn about hunting or just a refresher....
