Caution for anyone looking for a PS3 cable for your controller. The cable I received from the ad DID NOT CHARGE the PS3 controller even though it said it would. The company knows this and admitted that the ad was wrong. The good news is that the company was very cooperative, refunded my money, and even told me to keep the cable (which is just a big USB to a little USB).

These cables are cheap.. very cheap.. However, the problem with this cables is that they loose connection every now and then. I tried everything in the book to fix the issue until I figured it out.. IT's the cables!!!!... changed cables and the problem was gone.. [tried 3 different cables and had the same problem] Specially when playing video games.

With Buzz! Quiz TV, you'll never need another trivia game for your Playstation 3.

Inside the box is the game, four wireless controllers and a USB dongle. The dongle can connect up to 4 controllers, 2 dongles can be used to connect up to 8 players in one room. Two AA batteries are needed for each buzzer.

The instructions for turning the buzzers on and off are included in the game manual. For the less tech-savvy, the Buzz! website has a 5-page PDF file which explains how the buzzers work.

Buzz! can be played alone, with friends, or online.

The following categories are selectable for Buzz! games:

So what rounds are available?

For the single player, there are 3 rounds of "Stop the Clock" the faster the player answers a question, the more points are awarded.

In multiplayer mode, a single game consists of 7 rounds:

(1) Point Builder Players answer questions with a time limit, each answer is worth 250 points.

(2) Short Fuse A random player gets a bomb and must answer a question correctly to pass it. The player holding the bomb when it goes off loses 300 points.

(3) Fastest finger The player who answers a question the fastest receives more points.

(4) Pie Fight Answering correctly grants control of the host to throw a pie at your opponents if hit with 2 pies, a player is eliminated. Point bonuses are given for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

(5) Point Stealer The player buzzing in the quickest can steal points from another player.

(6) High Stakes Players are given a category description and bet from 100 to 500 pts correct answers reward the bet value, incorrect answers detract the bet value.

(7) Final Countdown All accumulated points are converted to the player's platform height. Questions are asked while the platform descends and players that touch the floor are eliminated. The last player left wins the game.

When playing online, another category is available:

All That Apply a VERY interesting category. A question is asked, with several possible answers. Players gain points for correct answers and lose points for incorrect ones. A popular tactic is to purposely choose incorrect answers, wait until online opponents copy them, and then change them before time runs out to lower the opponent's score.

A "report content" button can flag inappropriate questions, and parental controls prevent free downloading by minors.

I brought this game to a party as a field test, and everyone LOVED it. After trying the online portion, my hosts earned two trophies with their trivia prowess!

Pros: Great variety of questions, nice level of difficulty in questions, wireless buzzers work great, game interface is fun & easy to use.

Cons: Character models are a little generic, lack of variety in in-game question modes.

This is my first experience with the Buzz! game series, and so far it's been very enjoyable. My wife and I invited over another couple, and we played multiple games of 4 player head-to-head matches. The questions are just about the right diffuculty, with some being easy, while others were stumpers. With 4 buzzers going, it's nice that they were all wireless, although you'll have to make sure you buy a bunch of AA batteries to power all of them. We also jumped online to check out some of the top-rated user-created quizzes. These are shorter than the regular game mode (8 questions each), but it is a nice change of pace if you don't want to play the full game.

A few nitpicks; I would've liked to make my own custom character, which is a standard feature in many other games. As it is, you get to choose from about a dozen characters, pick an outfit, and that's it. Also, the game show follows the same format each time, meaning the it has the same series of sections as the game progresses (pie fight, fastest finger, etc)...we felt it could have mixed in a few other modes so that the experience is slightly different each time, and you wouldn't know which mode to expect as the game progresses.

But these are minor complaints, and overall this game was a lot of fun for a few 30-year-olds. grab a few beers, order a pizza, and spend a night inside throwing pies at your friends and family.

This is one fun game! The wireless buzzers are great. The format of the games are lots of fun and the characters are hilarious. There are almost 5,000 questions on the disc so you will probably go for quite a while without repeats. Also, there are already three sets of questions on the Playstation Network you can buy that contain 500 questions each.

On top of all that there is also My Quiz which allows users to make their own quizes and play them on your PS3 as well. Buzz even has online "sofa vs. sofa" so you can play against people online. Overall this game is WELL worth the money! Very fun!

Quiz TV *can* be played as single player game or online as a multi-player game, but I would discourage anyone from buying it unless there will be evenings where you can play it as a group of people sharing the same physical place. I think that's about the only scenario that will make this a decent purchase.

Visually, the game is rendered in High Definition, so it looks bright and crisp on your screen. I don't have any complaints in that area. My primary disappointment is that it's sort of what you'd expect after hearing about the game. It's a quiz show in your living room using your PS3. There just doesn't seem to be a next level of creativity involved that would make it stand out.

You can write your own trivia questions, try out other user's trivia question, but the interface isn't as easy to you as I wanted.

My suggestion? Try before you buy.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Whenever I have friends over for a party, invariably we end up playing some type of trivia game, usually while imbibing our drink of choice. In fact, it's become a tradition at parties to break out a console and get our trivia game face on. I love trivia questions, as do my friends. Usually, we've gravitated to the Scene It? series on the Xbox 360, but that changed when I received Buzz! Quiz TV.

On the surface, Quiz TV is basically your typical game show brought to virtual life. There's nothing super exciting about it. You just answer questions. Sometimes questions are asked after looking at various pictures; sometimes it's a movie clip; sometimes it's an audio clip. But it's always the same thing: a question is asked and you want to be the quickest to answer. The categories are very wide-ranging, from the biggest blockbusters to different periods of music (90s, 80s, modern, oldies, etc.) to scientific questions to geographical questions...Buzz! Quiz TV has it all. And with 5,000 questions out of the box and more available online, there's a ton of replayability inherent in the game.

What makes Quiz TV unique and more entertaining than other similar games (Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action, I'm looking at you) is the wink and nudge, smarmy humor encapsulated in the host. Buzz, the host, has that voice that can only be described as smarmy and says provocative things. But it's all done with a wink and a laugh, a send up and parody of some of the really bad game shows hosts out there. Additionally, while you can't create your own character, the selection of available avatars is terrific and, again, full of character. Whether you're playing as a mime who strikes poses, the cheesy and egotistical super hero, or the 80s-style mall rocker, there's a lot of humor to be had. Very expressive and, more interestingly, the host will respond based on the character you've selected. So, playing as the super hero you will hear different remarks than if you were playing the has been 80s mall chick.

Additional features add to the value. For instance, if you have enough controllers, you can play with up to 8 people. Or if you can't even find another person to play with, you can take the questions online. Also, as seems to be the thing to do these days, there's a community section where you can craft your own trivia questions and spread them to the world or play other people's trivia questions.

It would have been nice if you could play online and in the same room at the same time; that is, take your "team" of local players and compete against others online. But, unfortunately, the online portion seems to be just one player. This is a downside for me because games like these are more of a social activity and playing online, while still technically social, isn't as fun as having a group of people with you.

Other small issues abound, though. One thing to note is that the game doesn't come with batteries, so you'll need eight AA batteries to play it. But the biggest problem for me is the lack of variety. Sure there's variety in the groups of questions and the types of questions being asked, but the game types are set in stone. For instance, you'll always begin a game with "the point builder" where you simply want to get an answer before the time runs out. The second round will, again, always be the same and has you playing hot potato with a bomb where quick and correct guesses will get the bomb out of your hands. The third round will always be the same, etc. all the way to the end. It's not that the game types included aren't fun because they are (and have brought out tons of laughter amongst my gaming group), it's that there's not enough variety or randomness.

One of the features I've enjoyed with Scene It? is that the game types are completely random and so it doesn't feel like you're playing the exact same game over and over. I wish there were more game types and it was random, but I understand that the way it's created mimics typical game shows.

Overall, though, Buzz! moves into the Playstation 3 world with a great solid entry. I love the character of the game, whether it's the host or the individual contestants. The questions verge on being a little too easy, but there's so many categories and fun questions that cover a wide section of our world that it's forgivable. By far the best part is the post-release support. Already there's at least one question pack, a Horror Movie Question Pack just in time for Halloween that included an additional 500 questions. That kind of support will help give Buzz! Quiz TV longevity. I just wish that there was more variety in the game types and rounds.

Okay, those of you that know my review style know that I do my very best to give each game the benefit of the doubt as well as an honest opinion. This game will be no exception to that process!

Back in the day, Duke Nukem revolutionized the first-person shooter genre for its creativity, its graphics, its hardcore nature, and its overall fun-factor. Yet this game, does not revolutionize the genre in any way...in fact, it might be a small step back.

Now with that being said, it IS a good game, don't get me wrong, however after twelve or so years of build-up, delays, and anticipation, I'm simply warning everyone to not "get there hopes up too high," because the end result may end up leaving some disappointed.

I'm not going to give away any spoilers at all, I'm just going to delve into what people should already know, and that is that the very first level you start off on is, in fact, the one you play in the demo. Note: If you pre-ordered the game, you received a code to play the demo, not to mention it was available for play at various conventions. Now, some of you might be asking yourself, have the graphics improved from those that were available in the demo, and the answer is...No. To put it into comparison, the character modules of some of the monsters/characters looks similar to Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas. I can understand a game like that having lessened graphics because it is simply massive (for the lack of a better word). However this game, from what I can tell so far, is not nearly as massive and to be quite honest, there is no excuse for why some of the graphics even resemble Playstation 2-esque qualities. However, to be fair, when I get more playing time in with this game, I'll update my review on the length (level selection and so on) later.

Now, if there is one thing we all know, (or should know), it's that graphics don't make a game, no, what makes a game is whether or not it is FUN or not. Now, with that being said, I must say that this game does have its moments. For example, the humor is definitely there. Like I said, I'm not gonna give anything away, especially any of the jokes, but trust me, those oldschool "one-liners" are back and just as great/cheesy as they were back in the 90s. Also, remember playing the old Duke Nukem games back in the day, and being proud/rewarded when you found a secret? Well so far, those secret areas can still be found in this installment of the franchise (which is definitely a plus in my eyes). In addition, the developers also have chosen to add vehicles into the game, which has the potential to be a nice touch, however in my personal opinion, the camera-work/controls for such vehicle segments could use a bit of improvement, though aside from that, it's a great addition! Despite being (for the most part) linear, there is a surprising amount of exploration that can be had within this game, and for that, I am very happy. No, don't expect a massive world like Fallout 3 (sorry to keep namedropping that game ha-ha), or anything of that nature, but the developers did leave room for some exploring throughout the levels as I stated, which is nice, however back-tracking through levels (unless you count a chapter select) is not included in this exploration process.

Puzzles are back as well, and that feeling of "being lost" that retro-gamers once felt can now be re-experienced (which is either a good thing or bad thing, depending on your style of gameplay you prefer). As far as I'm concerned, puzzles such as these are alright, just as long as they don't become tedious and ultimately result in a thrown controller (as some gamers often resort to :P). The assortment of weapons is pretty great, however the only complaint I have in this department, is that you are only allowed to carry two weapons (unless somewhere further through the game this changes, and if so, like I said earlier, I will update this review). So you need to choose wisely as to which two weapons you wish to play through on various portions of the game before picking up/adding a new one. The lineup of enemies is pretty awesome as well, some of the classic favorites have returned, as well as various new ones.

Multiplayer? Well I'll fill this section in later once I give it a try, but for now, I just wanted to get this initial review out to you all (the public). However trust me, expect an update within the next couple of days. Be gentle though, I was trying to get this review out early so buyer's could get an honest opinion of the game.

So for now, my impressions stand as follows:

At the very least, a rental is in order, just to see if you like the game or not. It may not be for some, it might be for others, however at the very least, if you consider yourself a Duke fan, you owe it to the franchise (and yourself) to rent it and try it out. As for buying/purchasing it? Well...personally, I would say go ahead, however for the majority of gamer's out there, this one definitely needs to be tried out before spending your hard-earned dollars on it.

UPDATE 6/15: Alright, so I've had some more time with the game's single player campaign now, and I can say that my rating stays the same. Surprisingly, I still haven't beaten the game, which actually comes as a shock to me, since many reviews complain about the length of the game. So in my opinion (for what it's worth), I actually have no complaints about the length. The levels available are also quite nice so far, and I've found myself challenged with some of the puzzles that the level design has offered me. If by chance you get stuck, or don't know where to go/what to do, we are fortunate to live in an age where we have all the answers at our fingertips (the internet), so just look for a walkthrough on YouTube or whatever website that is convenient for you, though for the most part, I doubt you'll need to resort to such actions.

In all honesty though, I can still say this game offers a decent experience that may not outshine other games on the market, but it holds its ground. Obvious improvements could have been made though, and hopefully in the next one (assuming they make one), they'll be more mindful of their errors and not "rush into it;" which sounds odd being that it took twelve or so years to release this game in the state that its in now. I look forward to what the future holds for this franchise, and hopefully people will give this one a try: just don't go in with high expectations.

Update 6/16: Alright, I've spent yet even more time with the single-player campaign, and I just want to make a couple more notes. I noticed many reviews complain about the load times. Yes, they are persistent and somewhat of an annoyance. These load times not only occur between levels, but also after dying (for the most part, as certain deaths like driving a vehicle in a lake results in an instant respawn). True, this is a problem for most players, and hopefully in the next game (assuming they make one), they'll address this issue and really pull for quicker load-times. However, it is what it is, and there really isn't anything WE can do about it (aside from just choosing not to play the game at all :P).

Also, elaborating a bit on my mentioning of level exploration, I really consider it an absolute treat to walk around a level and take a gander at every single detail of the objects around an environment (I love doing that stuff). Little things that most people might overlook, like labels on foods, boxes, and other various objects throughout a level. I even noticed a fully-functional crossword puzzle on one of the objects within the (small spoiler) Duke Burger level. I'd strongly recommend taking the time to venture around and really take-in the environments that the developers have laid out for us, as you'd really be doing a disservice to yourself in not doing so. At least this proves that SOME thought went into the game. My favorite little "Easter egg" of sorts was going into one of the bathroom areas, and finding writing on the wall that said "867-5309." This is of course a song that was made in the 80s, and I couldn't help but grin when I discovered this. Anyway, I won't give away anymore, but these little secrets and things are definitely out there; ya just gotta' find them! :)

MULTIPLAYER:

Alright, as promised, here are my first impressions of the multiplayer of this game. First off, I love the selections of maps and so on that are made available, even one called "Hollywood" which is the opening level from Duke Nukem 3D (if you pay attention), except it's been turned into a slum; why they did this, I don't really know, but still, it's a fine addition. The weapon scheme is the same as in single player in that you can only carry a max of two weapons to switch off with. The weapons spawn out at various portions of the map, and it's up to you to make sure its safe and clear enough to grab one without being killed! I hosted a server for a while and played a few games, I also played on other people's servers and as far as I can tell, there has been no lag issues at all (keep in mind, this is from my own personal experience, and lag issues may vary from person-to-person). Anyway, perhaps the toughest part about the multiplayer (for me at least) is the aiming; which is also a concern in the single player as well and often feels like I'm having to "spray-and-pray." However if you're a seasoned first-person shooter player, this might not be an issue after getting use to how the game plays out/feels. Overall, the game modes are fairly enjoyable (especially a good ole round of "Capture the Babe" which is a spinoff of "Capture the Flag"), and as long as teamwork is everyone's concern, battles should make for some intense and entertaining moments! The only thing that turns me off is that there are no trophies/achievements for the multiplayer, only in-game unlockables. For some, this is perfect, but this was also the case for Uncharted 2 (well...aside from the 2 trophies it awarded you for simply trying multiplayer), and the reason why I never really got into that portion of that game; though that's another story entirely! However, if you aren't a trophy-hungry gamer like I am, and simply looking for a decent online multiplayer shooting experience, then sure, I'd recommend it. However, keep in mind, this is no CoD, Warhawk, Battlefield, MAG, or Resistance...this is Duke Nukem. Which reminds me, yes, just to clarify, the maximum player count for matches is 8 people. So if you're the type that loves to get involved in massive battles, then I suggest you give MAG a try. Though all-in-all, the multiplayer offered in this game is enjoyable, not great, not awesome, not spectacular, and not poor, not bad, and not terrible; just enjoyable.

So with all that being said, my scores remain the same (although I'll add a score for multiplayer now), and I would still strongly encourage (to anyone) at least giving this game a try at a friend's house, or a rent. Who knows, you may just find a gaming experience that you'll find quite entertaining, or you may not care for it at all, turn it in, and move on to the next game. Either way, these are all just MY opinions on the game, and whether we like it or not, Duke Nukem has returned!

After years of thinking this game wasn't going to come out, if finally hit. This is the real sequel to the original Duke Nukem 3D, a terrific example of how great old school shooters really were. Sure, we had several console games, such as Duke Nukem: Zero Hour and Duke Nukem: Planet of the Babes, but this is the Duke Nukem the gaming community has waited for. The question is, does it make you hail to the king, or should Gearbox blow it out their... well, you get the point.

Before we go into a lot of details, people need to realize who Duke Nukem is. I know a lot of "professional journalist" have deemed this game insanely crude and offensive. It demonstrates sexist attitudes and Middle school jokes, some of which push it too far. Let's clear this up right now. Duke Nukem is a sexist. He's has the bio genetics of several macho men from the 80s and 90s that a lot of us grew up loving. He's the one man army Rambo character, and because of this, all of the ladies love him. He's a parody of the macho men. Women are dumb in the game. They're unable to save themselves. And in the Duke Nukem universe, they're all whores. This is all in the name of offensive parody, sure. So we need to keep this in mind to review this game properly.

The graphics are outdated, using an older version of the Unreal Engine. It looks very similar to another 3D Realms title known as Prey. It almost feels like it would have been just fine in 2007 or 2008. For the most part, at least the frame rate doesn't drop and is generally pretty steady. I kept hearing reports of this occurring, but for me, that was never the case. However, this isn't the ugliest game I've ever seen and is very playable if you're not a completely graphic nut. As goes for the sounds. They're cheesy, and the voice acting is 'meh', but this didn't concern me. It was liking playing through an interactive B-film.

Loading times in the game are horribly long. I had my notebook with me during the entire game because of the extremely long wait between levels. Even after a level is loaded, when you die, you have to reload back to the checkpoint. Fans of Call of Duty know that dying should be as easy as a 3-second wait and then you're back in the action. There was one boss fight that the loading screens became so annoying, I actually had to take a break so I wouldn't want to break the disc.

The story is the real cheese, but perfect for this universe. It's another 'aliens have landed' with the Duke Nukem twist: they have stolen all the defenseless women! So the United States calls upon this one man army to help destroy the wormhole that is stealing women and summoning pig cops and other insane alien scum. You'll go through different avenues of areas throughout the game, ranging from an outrageously fun burger joint to a more dark alien hive area.

One thing that really stands out is the way you can interact with the environment. Most shooters today are strictly shooting galleries with little (if any) interaction. Duke Nukem Forever manages to add a bit of this old flare back into the shooting. However, in this same category, you'll be a little disappointed if you're looking for a complete return to how the old shooters were. Most of the interactions are mini-games and a few odds and ends that you can mess with. It doesn't feel like they evolved interactions the way they could have done. Most multiplayer interactions are missing from the game. In older PC shooters such as Redneck Rampage even, you could play a bowling mini-game during a deathmatch. Where is this type of creativity for multiplayer? Maybe next time, Duke.

This is definitely a kick back to old school shooters, but it does have some newer features that is so anti-old school, it takes the nostalgia merit away from the game. For instance, the game has a two weapon carrying limit. This is nothing like games of our past. It really limits the fun during parts of the game when you have to decide between a shrink gun or a rapid-fire rocket launcher. Another thing that ruins part of the game is regenerating health. Shooters from the 90s (since this is what the game is trying to be) would have had a health pack system, and maybe an armor system. (Also, where is the use of a jetpack?).

The biggest disappointment is from the levels themselves. They're linear, and that's just not how games were done back in the golden days. They're not so direct there there's no way to navigate differently through a level, but the giant maze fields you went through in the past are gone. I'm hoping that Gearbox actually pays attention and returns the game back to it's roots even more next time. Hopefully in a more timely manner.

Multiplayer is a blast and is arena as arena gets. There's even ranks and different costumes you unlock through ranks. However, no weapon unlocks. Every player starts with a pistol and you pick up weapons laid throughout the map. The only problem I had with this is you have to hold down a button to pick up weapons. It would have made more since if they would have addressed this by just removing the two-weapon holding cap. However, it's great fun and very action oriented. There's even a throw back level from the original Duke Nukem 3D that makes you beg for more of the same.

My final thoughts are that while the game isn't near as good as the original 3D, it's at least fun and worth a shot. Gearbox's worst hit to the series was making this title $60. It's not really worthy of that price. But it's not the completely broken and offensive mess the "journalist" are making it out to be. It's a Duke Nukem game with some changed elements. Hopefully, Gearbox listens to the complaints of the gaming community (and not these so-called critics) to fix the issues found in this title to make the game much more like the original.

In a world of "Call of Duty", "Battlefield", and "Halo", many old-school FPS franchises have been lost in the annals of time. Attempts to recapture old franchises' glory, such as "Doom 3" and "Quake 4", produce competent results that fall short of greatness, simply because they're unable to decide to appeal to modern gamers or their original fanbase. Now, after over a decade of inactivity in the genre, Duke Nukem is back in the playing field. And unlike his 90's brethren, the lovable blowhard knows exactly who he's trying to appeal to. "Duke Nukem Forever" is a throwback to a simpler time in games, and that's why I love it.

We meet Duke twelve years after annihilating an evil race of aliens from Earth, relaxing in a posh suite on the top floors of his own Vegas hotel and casino. Everybody is in a state of unease about a giant alien mothership docked above the city, but Duke is under strict orders to stand down because of the lack of actual hostile activity from the creatures. Standing down is something that he can't do, though, when the aliens break into his hotel and begin to abduct the women. "Not my babes, not in my town!", he exclaims, setting into motion his one-man assault on the hostile army. His journey will take him through fast food joints, destroyed city streets, alien hives, and Hoover Dam. In the end, he learns more about the hidden depths of who he really is.

Okay, that last part's a complete lie, which is a good thing. This game, which would be rather cliche and annoying if made with a straight face, is an over-the-top circus of cheesiness, and Duke is the ringmaster amongst all of the chaos. Instead of trying to make gamers take this game down like it's serious business, they sprinkle in a healthy amount of absurd humor, stemming mainly from Duke's inflated ego, making it less cheesy and more a genuine parody. While some may say this is sloppy design, this reviewer found it a refreshing break from the typically serious FPS games we get nowadays.

Which isn't to say Duke plays anything like those more straightfaced games. Much like the attitude prevalent throughout the whole affair, the gameplay is a strict adherence to 90's FPS conventions, almost to a fault. In between pumping enemies full of ammo from overpowered weapons, you'll solve simplistically irritating puzzles and engage in platforming sections that Duke's girth isn't exactly helpful with. Other critics think of this as some kind of downfall in the game's design, but it honestly isn't. To this critic, these supposed "downfalls" actually make the game more challenging, and more fun to play.

"Challenging" is a key word here, because it seems to pop up a lot in other reviews. Enemies being too hard to kill, or platforming sections being too frustrating. These should really be taken as invalid arguments. In today's day and age, games will handhold you through platforming and combat segments, and only make you do quick-time events to finish off massive bosses or clear huge ravines. The slaying of Chronos in "God of War III" comes to mind. But not this game. While there are a few quick-time sequences, the main brunt of the game overloads you with tough enemies and frustrating jumping segments that you alone have to conquer. It's a very 90's mentality, and one that's refreshing to see in a modern game.

Another thing that's very refreshing is the fact that the set designs are anything but typical. While the graphical "power" is admittedly rough and dated, the environments are all very interactive and inventive. Whether it's being atop Stratosphere Las Vegas while fending off aerial assaults, going through a fast food kitchen being only the size of your foot, or falling from an exploding Hoover Dam, there's a serious amount of originality present in these levels that it's forgivable if the graphics are less than stellar.

Also making up for the lack of amazing graphics is the intentionally ridiculous dialogue shared among characters. While some may have made claims of this game being "sexist", this writer begs to differ. Both men and women are made to look like complete dolts in "Forever", worshiping Duke like he's some sort of god come to Earth, and making remarks that only be described as airheaded, headstrong, and ignorant. Knowing that this is a comedy game, this is supposed to be taken much like the dialogue in an average episode of "South Park" or "Family Guy", and not like it's part of some intelligent narrative. Those expecting it to be are honestly expecting too much.

On the more human side of things, multiplayer is an absolute blast. Seemingly barebones at first, one creation of a match will open up a decent amount of options for you to experiment with. Maps are very fun and varied, with all of the personality and quirk present in the single player levels. Every weapon has a distinctive advantage and disadvantage, and as you play, you'll find what strategy works best for your style. Railguns are powerful, but fail at close range and slow to fire. Devastators fire off rockets at a machine gun pace, but are easy to misfire and kill yourself with. No one weapon is perfect, and that's what keeps matches from getting cheap or reliant on one weapon.

This game embraces what people loved about "Duke Nukem 3D" and perfects it. It never tries to compete with modern FPS juggernauts, with the exception of Duke only being able to hold two weapons, and for the most part maintains it's own identity. While that identity is the furthest thing from perfect, it certainly is different from what we've grown accustomed to today. Whether "Duke Nukem Forever" was worth the wait or not is really up to you, in the end, but coming from somebody who has anticipated this game since he was six years old, this game was worth the 100 shelled out on the Balls of Steel edition. With plenty of replay incentives that shouldn't be spoiled, and promises of plenty of DLC updates, this game isn't going anywhere for a while.

I think ALOT of the people who are bashing this game are forgetting that this is a DUKE NUKEM game! Let me explain. In order for you to like this game, first and foremost, you HAVE TO BE a DUKE NUKEM FAN!!! If anyone is expecting a serious story which follows a 2011 storytelling format than this is not a game for you. Duke is about a larger than life hero with cheesy one liners who kicks ass, bangs girls, drinks beer and gives you the middle finger even as he's falling from a collapsing building after blowing up an alien mothership. Some critics think that the game let everyone down because it took 12 or 14 years to make, so in reality no game on any shelve will ever live up to a critics expectations after a very long hiatus. If they stopped making Modern Warefare games in 2011 and then made Modern Warefare 4 in 2025, it won't live up to any expectations no matter how F'N good the game is!

GRAPHICS: First of all, the graphics are not bad. They're not the best, but they're certainly not the worst. I think they are a very solid 4 out of 5 stars. They get the job done and that's what counts. I wasn't expecting the game to look like Uncharted 3 or Infamous 2. The Call of Duty/Modern Warefare games pretty much have the same graphics year after year after year and I haven't heard many people complaining. Graphics matter but they don't determine if a game is good or not (ex. Left 4 Dead 2 for XBox 360, poor graphics but a very good zombie game).

SOUND: I love the music and I love the dialogue. Especially, those shots at Halo and World of Warcraft. PRICELESS!!! 5 out 5 stars. Duke looks like Brock Lesnar except with a manly voice...St. Jon is PERFECT as DUKE!!!

CONTROLLER: Like any other game, you have to play it for a while to get the hang of it. 4 out of 5 stars.

GAMEPLAY: My fortee is fighting games (like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter) and I'm not really much of a first person shooter or RPG type of guy, but this game and God of War 3 made me reconsider RPG games. I really enjoy playing this game and the multiplayer is also TONS of FUN! Decent shooter. The game almost gets a 5 but my only complain is the loading time. I can wash and dry my clothes in the time it takes to load! 4 out of 5.

I personally recommend this game to ANYONE looking to play a game with an antihero that oozes the machisimo and charisma that a good ol' fashion 90's action hero could bring.

First of all, the packaging is very well done and it is a nice cardboard box containing all the items included within the box in each area. When you first open it, you see the action figure in a nice plastic cover, on the right. The face itself looks a bit weird on the right side. Looking at the top left, therein lies the ring. It feels a type of hard plastic material, but not metal at all. The strap in itself is a bit on the weaker side, but the details on the ring make up for it. It is a very well made product. On the bottom box lies the belt buckle. It is in fact made of metal and very well made. I will not wear it however as I'd like to keep it where it is. Now steelbook game case. Definitively the best piece of the collectors edition. It has the insignia of the box and it is gorgeous looking with the back showing the emblem of the ring.

You can find the steelbox case on the left side where you open the box. It even has its own holding area. To me, it feels like it was hard work and dedication within the box. I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries to make a custom made wooden version of that box later on. The figure may have a small defect, or may look weird to me, but it doesn't give me a big of a con to give the product a 4/5.

I'm going to make this extremely short, because I've been writing a lot of reviews on the collectors edition and such...I don't feel like re-writing it again.

I've been waiting for months for this to come out and it was definitely worth the wait. The collectors edition as many people have already mentioned was worth the money...in fact it'd have been worth it with just the Steel Case and The Sideshow Statue, but..you still get the ring (not ideal quality, but definitely a lot of detail which makes up for it), which I'll be going to buy a better chain for so I can wear it around my neck and the Belt buckle is insanely nice quality.

The game. Absolutely Breathtaking, I stayed up until I finished beating it with my boyfriend on Hard yesterday. Amazing. The games environment changes constantly, the graphics are even more improved than I thought I it was possible over the second game. Little effects that they didn't even have to add they did, such as Drake's scarf blowing in the wind or Sand in his hair when he falls down from exhaustion in the desert. Or even the overly entertaining fact that now drake reacts constantly to his environment. Almost falling down the sand, hiding behind a box and him checking the area, or looking tired, or trying not to fall when standing on a swaying boat. Improved melee combat adds even more to the game than I thought it would. It's become more realistic fighting wise, that drake would use objects around him instead of just being a *SQUARE SQUARE SQUARE KO* killer. Not to mention the amusing amount of melee moves, I thoroughly enjoy pulling someones grenade pen off of them and letting them blow up, or smacking them in the face with a gun. It's amazing. I can't get over it.

The story is overall engaging, it's amazing. Taking a snapshot from his childhood, learning relationships and getting caught up in the emotions. It deserves more than 5 stars.

In closing, this game was well worth the price, the collectors edition. I would buy it 10 times more if I had to. I love it. Naughty Dog didn't let me down..but now I have to wonder, when they go to make Uncharted 4....how will they ever top this? lol

If you're on the fence about purchasing this Amazing game, jump on the purchase side, you won't regret it.

I just got my Collectors edition and I must say its better than I expected. You get a nice case that looks like wood and feels pretty durable. Inside on the left is the most awesome steel game case I have ever seen. Inside of the steel case has a beautiful work of art behind the disc and on the outside the big picture of the ring. Talking about the ring is a nice wearable steel ring and also the steel belt buckle. I gotta say the quality is better than I thought. Then finally you have the nice detailed statue that comes with its little stand of the uncharted 3 logo. You can have the Drake statue standing on its own or with the stand.

About the game it comes with a online pass code on the back of the manual and also a voucher for the Starhawk multiplayer beta. The multiplayer of the game is a lot more better than part 2 and more fun. Lots of different maps to play and different choices of kickbacks and custom hero or villain. Co-op is also available but this time with a different kick. Last but not definitely not least is the Amazing Story, I just started but it pulls you in right from the start, definitely game of the year material.

This is a must have for any collector. Its really worth the price. You wont regret it!

The Game: Uncharted 3 really takes what made Uncharted 1 & 2 great then continues on with it flawlessly. The gameplay itself is a bit more fluid, a few of the irks of combat have been cleaned up and the puzzles we all know are waiting for us never disappoint. If you liked any of the Uncharted games, then you'll enjoy this game as well. The only issue is the sudden ramp up in difficulty sometimes during a few of the combat scenes. The transition between casual puzzle solving and intense gun-fights with 20 people are often sudden and extremely challenging.

The Bonus Stuff: The belt buckle is pretty awesome, it is made of real metal and is designed to have almost any type of buckle-less belt run through it. The ring replica is made out of either a heavy plastic or a cheap metal. It looks amazing and true to what Nathan wears but is a little disappointing and not something I would wear while out and about, just for fear of damaging it. It does, however, provide a good base if you ever want to get a custom ring made. The statuette is absolutely flawless. It's tall, it's heavy, and it's solid. It is definitely where the majority of the price goes. I display it proudly on my bookshelf. The case the game comes it is right next to it, the thing is absolutely beautiful and makes a great companion piece.

The Recap: The game's only real issue is the spike in difficulty when being faced with a few of the gunfight scenes, otherwise it's the game you're expecting. The ring was a little disappointing, but the bonus items are well worth the extra cash you spend on the box set. This is a must buy for any fan.

2K and Live b-ball hasn't been a contest in the last few years, as 2K has always been the one to buy. I was really hyped up for this year's version, especially after the amazing trailers.

Unfortunately, 2K Sports released an unfinished game full of glitches to meet the deadline. I will only list some of the glitches I've had happen: player moving backwards 8-10 feet, like a teleportation; getting a traveling violation after a scored basket; the inbounder running backwards in place until you get a 5 second violation; made dunks not counting count and everyone keeps playing; the game clock freezing at the end of a quarter; graphics displays, like the current conference standings, taking up the screen so you can't see (while the ball is in play); delays in the crowd noise reactions to plays. A lot of the glitches will be fixed with downloadable patches, but I'm reviewing the game as it is now.

For the positives, the graphics are much improved over 2K9. Online, there is less lag than there was before. The pre-game rituals, such as Lebron's chalk clap and Sasha pumping up Kobe are nice, but I looked at those the first few games and always skip it now. What really matters is gameplay and I wish more time was spent on that. Some of the things that need attention: defenders standing like drones around the rim, while a PG blows by for an uncontested layup, even with help defense bar maxed out; players having their stamina drained 2 trips up the court and then having to sit for an entire quarter; the ridiculous low post game and automatic skyhooks; guys missing uncontested lay-ups too often; players going into automatic post up, for no reason.

The "My Player" feature is pretty fun building up your character. If you played team-up online, you are familiar with the grading system. There are major gripes here, as well. My teammates also play very stupid defense, constantly leaving everyone, including superstars, wide open. When you are playing as a team in the regular game, you can switch and "babysit" your defenders, but you will be frustrated with the stupid play in this mode. There are also frustrating glitches in this mode like the graphic blocking the screen so you can't see for about 15 seconds and the way too frequent backcourt and out of bounds violations, when there is no defensive pressure. I watch a lot of games and I see a backcourt violation maybe once every 10 games but it happens usually 3 or more times here, again, with no defensive pressure.

If you need your annual NBA fix, with updated rosters, this is still ahead of Live (and I have played Live 10 for a few hours). If you're only a casual player, and just want a fun game regardless of whether rosters are current, stick with 2K9, at least until they fix the major bugs.

UPDATE 11/9: I'm finished with this game until a patch comes out. Supposedly, one is coming out this week, but judging from the 360 patch feedback, it's severely lacking and causes more issues. It's been over a month since release and it's unacceptable.

Here is what pushed me over the edge: In My Player mode, I was in the first round of the playoffs as the #2 seed, with Golden State. The Mavs shot 70-80% EVERY game, the vast majority of which were perimeter shots with a defender in their face. I managed to take it to game 6 somehow, but in the last game, my teammates would take it up the court, dribble out the clock, and shoot a 3 with 1 second on the shot clock. I would set a screen, move around frantically, call for the ball, ANYTHING, but they just stood there dribbling (we were down on the scoreboard and this was infuriating). Still somehow, I made it close by working for high percentage shots. With 10 seconds it was tied, Dirk hit a contested 20 footer with 5 seconds left. I drove to the basket and was fouled making 2 free throws to tie it with 2 seconds. On the next inbound, Jason Terry tosses up another 20 footer with a defender in his face and of course makes it. I wasn't surprised because Dirk and Terry hit literally 90% for the series. That was it. 2K, fix your broken game. I've always bought 2K games on release day but I learned a lesson here. I will never do that again and after this experience, I may never even buy a 2K game again.

I played the heck out of NBA 2k9, so I was excited about NBA 2k10, especially because of the My Player mode.

However, the one thing that ruins sports games for me is the bread and butter play...you know, the play you can use to score every time? Well, NBA 2k10 suffers from the same thing (ironically) that's plagued the Live series for years, dominating point guards. Even on Hall of Fame difficultly, I can take Jason Kidd and score 60 against the Lakers. I've adjusted sliders, but to no avail in fixing the issue. What I usually do is start on the wing drive toward the top of the key, do a quick hesitation and then blow by the defender and down the lane for an easy lay-up...it works every time.

And when I get tired of that, it's really easy to exploit the AI defense. Just keep passing around the 3 pt line until a guy goes down low for an easy lay-up. It's that simple. I'm serious on this too, and I'll say it again, sliders don't fix anything. The AI defense is really poor. It's unplayable for me. It's not fun to dominate this easily.

There are some framerate issues, particularly in post play, but I haven't noticed it enough to piss me off or anything. Supposedly they're worse on the 360 version.

Outside of the poor defensive AI, the other big complaint I have is that the action is kinda choppy, not fluid at all. Passes are great, but ball-handling and driving the lane animations are unnatural. I played the demo for Live 10 and it's much more fluid, so I may try it, though I suspect it's not outstanding either.

The graphics remain good, but not great. The players don't really look much like themselves, especially Dirk. They're really shiny, and move awkwardly in the cutscenes. It's annoying.

Players miss the easiest lay-ups around the basket. Blocks from behind are uncanny. If the AI breaks free and heads down court for the easy lay-up, you can turbo your PG and catch him almost then attempt a block as the opponent is performing the lay-up and block it almost every time. It's unfair. I wish you could turn them off.

I'm really, really disappointed. I'm struggling to point out what's really good about this game. I can't think of any part I've really enjoyed. Hopefully a patch will address a number of these issues. It's just too easy.

I was an NBA Live fan up until 2k9. I've heard other 2k's before that were better than Live but I was too loyal, hoping maybe one day NBA Live would get it together. 2k9 was soo much better than live I felt deprived. Now 2k10 in some ways isn't better than 2k9 but the "My Player" mode is what NBA games have been lacking for a long time. Yes you could lock to a certain player but it really didn't do much since it wasn't really tracked as far as how well you were playing the position. My player brings that challenge to work day in and out. After playing a regular franchise you get bored but to make accomplishments as an individual has really got me playing this game allot more trying to get better. It's not perfect but I'm loving it so far.

Initially, I was taken back by the complete change in feel and gameplay in 2k10 compared to previous ones. I actually thought of posting a 3. Then, I went back and spent more time in the game. It has indeed changed, but for the better. It is much more REALISTIC. No more reach and steal your game to the easy finish as was the case in HOF mode in previous 2K games. The "Pro" mode (3 levels lower than HOF) is harder than HOF in previous ones.

Gameplay is much more difficult and realistic. It is lot harder to defend in this game. The controls do feel completely different but I got used to it. Graphics are incredible but I like the more realistic feel to the game. It definitely is not as easy as just put the ball in an allstar hand and just blow by everyone. Its much more offensive set oriented.

I think many people that posted negatively will change their opinion once they played more than one or two game. It takes some time to get used to this version. I have had played the 2K Bball series from the first to the tenth. This one is the most feature rich, robust, and realistic.

This game is not for players that like arcade-like feel games. It does make you think the game more like Madden does. Realistic gameplay for the real bball fans not the casual ones.

Excellent game vs cpu/opp. HORRIBLE ONLINE!!! Lag kills ur timing. I also keep hearing rumors that cheat codes can be transfered online to make players shoot 90% from the field. AI's defense is awful....just awful. NBA Today feature is awsome however. During ur normal gameplay i normally take gameplay and player quickness down to 37. it makes the pace more realistic. if not, players will run 75mph with turbo. ull feel like ur playing nba jam and might violently throw ur controller. overall good game. still a long way to go.

This is a review specifically focusing on the extras that come with the collector's edition of the game...

The Sackboy Plushie: For a lot of people, this is possibly the biggest selling points of the collector's edition. Sackboy may just be the most adorable character to come out of the past decade, so having a licensed plushie of him would be, for many, a dream come true. It's disappointing then that the quality of the plushie is rather poor. The plushie looks significantly different than the Amazon image above and the image on the box. Compared to what is displayed, the plushie is a much darker brown, its head has more of a pronounced egg shape, its button eyes are smaller, and it just has an overall "school arts and crafts" vibe about it. I thought perhaps I may have just received a bad one, but I have seen images of others that are just the same poor quality. The image also shows the plushie sitting down which suggests that the legs can swivel or are loose enough pose. However they are stiff and cannot move. All this is upsetting because the Sackboy plushie displayed is clearly an entirely different plushie than the one you get. If your main reason for getting the collector's edition is the plushie, I would suggest possibly passing on it (Or at least look at images of the actual plushie you get to see if the quality is good enough for your liking. I have posted an image here on Amazon.)

The Bookends: Though they (intentionally) have a cardboard look to them, they are made of a stiff material and are sturdy. Each bookend is about 8 inches (20 cm) high and 5 inches (13 cm) wide. There are two cardboard cutouts, one on each bookend (Sackboy holding an arcade cabinet on one, and LBP's Da Vinci surrounded by Sackbots on the other) which add some 3 dimensional pizzazz. Contrary to the plushie, these bookends are pretty nice.

The Costumes/Avatars: For others, this will be the big selling point of the collector's edition. It's probably important to point out again that these are downloadable content costume packs and are NOT on the disc (otherwise meaning your PS3 will need to be hooked up to the internet to acquire them). Inside the game case is a small voucher with the code that you can redeem on the Playstation Network. The Jak & Daxter costumes are only available in the collector's edition of the game, so if you want them, this is the only way to get them. All the costumes are of good quality like the other LBP DLCs available and are definitely the highlight of the collector's edition. LBP costumes on the Playstation Network cost roughly $1-2, so all the costumes make up more the than half the additional cost of the collector's edition which helps justify it. The voucher also lets you redeem 5 avatars which you can display on your PSN ID if you want to show off your adoration for LBP2.

While the plushie is a bit of a letdown, the decent bookends and fun costumes pick up the slack. You would probably spend nearly $20 on the costumes anyway, so if you're interested in them (especially the Jak & Daxter costumes which, again, are only available if you get this edition of the game), you might as well pick up the collector's edition and get everything else.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a continuation of the first LittleBigPlanet, in the sense that the fun still never stops. With many new features this game easily packs a punch twice as hard as the first one though. new features include cut scene creator , sound creator, you can create (with some imagination) many different variations of mini-games within your created level (for me I made a paintinator shooter to play with my roommate). What's my favorite feature? Probably that it's compatible with the Move, although to be truthful I haven't used the Move with it yet (it just sounds like a fun idea that they had).

The levels in LBP 2 are even more creative than the first one (if that's even possible), the graphics are more polished (if it matters), and load screens don't seem to take as long. The create mode is a thousand times easy than the first time (very user-friendly). Create mode is easier in the sense that all of the tutorials are right in front of you and you don't have to try everything on your popit in order to see them all. ALSO maybe my favorite improvement is that when you go to create and enemy (using the brain) they are just mindless going back and forth, they actually do what you would expect an enemy to do.

The online system is also amazing. The internet style level search bar looks like it will make finding levels you want to play a breeze (since nobody has really made any levels yet, I have not had the pleasure to use it yet).

When it comes to cons there really aren't any that I can speak of. Graphics are clean, gameplay is funner than ever, load screens are bearable, and sackboy is still cute as hell.

Now I have a sackboy plush to put near my TV as well. The plush is very durable and feels like it is lined on the inside with some reinforcing plastic.

The bonus costumes are all great but my personal favorite are the ratchet and clank ones (mostly clank because your sackboy looks so hilarious running around as clank)

So overall I would give this game 10/5 stars, but since they won't let me I'll just have to give it 5. I know what I'm doing in my free time this week =]

I am going to review this a little different than my normal reviews as if you owned LBP1 you pretty much know the gameplay, graphics, sound etc. This review is going to be broken down into 2 parts.

1. The Game itself

2. The CE box edition

____ THE GAME ____

Okay Little Big Planet, if you have not played it before, is pretty much a platform'er w/ some adventure and wonderful creativity thrown into it. The game is suitable for all ages and has almost infinite re-playability. When you finish the campaign not only do you have item collecting to do but online user created levels, can create your own levels, dress up your pod, play mini games or redo the campaign with up to 4 people and have a blast just enjoying yourself.

LBP2 made some changes to the formula which I think gave it a much stronger campaign. While the levels early on can be a bit annoying or challenging (due to the grapple gun mechanics) the game as a whole is very polished and boasts a fantastic sound track, some really good and funny voice acting. They implemented a more solid storyline this time and it gives each level a lot more meaning to it. The new versus levels are a lot of fun also with friends.

The online play is extremely fluid, hopping into random games or inviting friends is even easier than the first game. If you loved Little Big Planet this game will easily bring a smile to your face once again. If you loved to create levels in little big planet, LBP2 will blow your mind with what you can do. You can recreate games like pac-man, asteroids, street fighter, even play a game of basketball; the versatility of this game is never ending.

If you never played Little Big Planet but were very curious about it, this is definitely a title worth picking up. Next to the Uncharted series, LBP is easily one of my top titles released on the PS3.

9.7 / 10 ( 97% ... 5 stars ) for the game. There are some minor bugs that aren't game breaking but can cause that happy smile to turn into a frown for a few moments but not enough to hurt this game. I expect many of the little problems to be patched out within a few days as these are just your typical launch bugs

____ COLLECTORS EDITION _____

Now... I am going to review the collectors edition. Essentially, is the CE worth +$20 ? Lets review what you get with the CE first

1. Book/Game ends (60%)

** These actually are much better quality than I expected. They do not feel like cardboard at all but I have a feeling they are probably heavy duty cardboard w/ plaster coating over it. They seem far to light for the material. However, they do work quite well. I have tested it with a bunch of games and they hold just fine. They also do a good job holding a bunch of books; though small books like paperbacks such as Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time etc Each end has small rubber/felt feet(4) on it and I think here is the problem with why people are having issues with them. They dont' have enough "grip" to really hold these ends in place. On a smooth surface like my polished PC desk they slide far to easy and a simple bump would cause it to lose its hold on the books. Replacing the little felt feet with solid plastic/rubber would resolve the problem but overall, out of the box these kinda-sorta work.

2. 5 PSN avatars (50%)

** What can I say, they are PSN premium avatars. Nothing special honestly and they don't even look that good IMO

3. Jax and Daxter exclusive costumes (100%)

** These are exclusive to the CE. The costumes look fantastic in 720p with high detail put into them.

4. 11 DLC costumes (100%)

** Who doesn't want more costumes! Depending on pricing when the hit official DLC it can be $6-$11 in savings (technically since you are paying $20 more for the CE)

5. LBP2 game disk (100%)

** Of course you get the game silly! At least you better have a game in the box ^_^

6. 7" Plushie (collectible) (50%)

** If you don't already own a sackboy / sackgirl plushie then this might be worth having as they do sell for anywhere from $10 $30 depending on the quality. However they are all usually 10" in size not 7". This is pretty much a smaller version of the standard plushie you find anywhere. From the original pictures included of the box set when announced they showed a completely different , higher quality Sackboy plushie. It was the first thing I noticed also was that this wasn't the advertised Plushie in fact it is all over the internet, in these reviews, my friends pointed it out also. Is this a killer, not really as you still get a cute plushie! Its just a bit of a let down as well as slightly misleading pictures/advertising

ANYHOW as you can see , in my book the CE scored 2 100's 2 50's and a 60 so doing some math that's 72% (i'm not including #5 in the calculation for obvious reasons :) )

72% is pretty low in my book for a CE box set. (Caka.. BARELY passing) With that said:

*** The CE is a PASS. Do not spend $20 on this unless you honestly want a 7" plushie for the kids (or to add to a collection or something) and some bookends that sorta-kinda-maybe work half the time 0_o the costumes are really nice though but I'm sure you can end up buying them as DLC later on. Save your money

--Gameplay (5 out of 5 stars)--

This game is definitely the successor to the original LittleBigPlanet. Although some complain about the storyline, it is insignificant compared to the breadth of levels and diversity in gameplay that you will encounter. You'll play with a grappling hook, Creatinator and many other gaming elements that will constantly challenge your platforming formula. These elements are enjoyable with one player or four players. You level of commitment can range from trying to ace every level solo or conducting a crazy social experiment with three other people you've never met. The ability to play with players locally, online, or both simultaneously while earning trophies on all associated accounts is a great feature.

More than the story, LittleBigPlanet is about community. As time goes on, you'll see more and more user-generated content. It can be brilliant as a Sack calculator, as fun as a game of Sack Basketball, as fast as overhead Sack Go Karts, or as funny as the Bed Intruder song with an Antoine Dodson sack following you everywhere.

For the casual gamer or the serious gamer, this game has unlimited possibilities and users never cease to amaze me with what they are capable of generating with the LittleBigPlanet tool at their disposal. If you own a PS3, this game is a no-brainer. Just don't buy the Collector's Edition for the reasons outlined below.

--Collector's edition perks (1 out of 5 stars)--

Unfortunately, the pictures for all of the additional content presented are rather deceiving. I was initially excited by the release images, but they a false representation.

Bookends

The characters depicted on the bookends are cute. However, the are little more than 2-d cardboard cutouts on what seems to be sticker-covered plastic slats. They will serve as excellent bookends for video games that can usually stand on their own. Anything of significance (e.g. Books) will cause them to slide or topple.

Sackboy Plush

The sackboy is a dark brown hue with a plastic zipper. Throw away any illusions of the texturized, well-constructed plush shown above. Other friends of mine have also purchased the Collector's edition and have been greeted with haphazard construction of their own plushies, including torn zipper lines and offset zippers. You can do much better at other online retailers.

Downloadable Content

The costumes and avatars are the two elements that appear as advertised! However, it is a just a combination of thrown-together costumes that will probably be available for individual purchase not too long from now.

The price for the additional By no means is this a large investment, but at pre-order Amazon offered $20 pre-order credit with the purchase of the standard edition. Having pre-ordered the collector's edition back in August 2009, I was rather cross once I found out about the discrepancy. To put it bluntly, I paid $40 for an underwhelming, poorly conceived (and constructed) set of LittleBigPlanet paraphernalia. As good as the game is, I recommend that you avoid the Collector's edition. Sorry Media Molecule, but you should stick solely with Video Games.

The good:

-The game looks great and especially when your webslinging through NY at night time.

-They've added a God of War kick to it. You're now involved in the cinematic action scenes. I think i'm about half way through and the extra moves that can be unlocked is kinda cool.

-You can now walk inside some buildings for certain missions.

-Added different missions

( disarming bombs, taking pictures, taking MJ for web slinging field trip )

The bad:

-Even though the game looks great, there are alot of graphic bugs.

( alot of seaming and clipping )

-Collision problems

( Characters getting pushed into walls, enemies get stuck )

-A.I. needs help.

(enemies will run away.. are simply just stare at you)

-I wish they would've implented a good soundtrack.

-Not sure about this complaint of mine, but i wish or hope.. that i'll be able to play a villian when i beat the game. I heard you can play the goblin... but.. i'd rather play sandman or venom.

Overall, its a good game. If your a spidey fan, its a great game. it's always fun to swing around the city.

Spider-man 3 does its movie counterpart absolutely no justice in this poorly, and lazily done game. This does not seem much better than Spider-man 2 for the PS2. There is a few new additions in there. Such as a slightly improved combat system, a fresh coat of paint, and a little bit of reflection on some surfaces. The combat system seems terribly incomplete, almost no transition between moves, no fluidity at all, it just felt rushed.

Bosses and some missions felt unnecessarily frustrating, unable to see some enemies, while they would attack what you were trying to protect. I also had several problems with mission "coins" disappearing. Stupidly powerful enemies that stopped taking damage after you had given them an unrelenting beating for nearly 10 minutes, knocking them over countless times.

The "God of War"-esque button system is really innovative, and absurdly complicated. God of War normally limited its buttons to just the face buttons. This one throws face, control stick movements and R1,R2, L1, L2 at incredibly inept time, so unless you are really quick, some give you less than a second to complete the combination. Luckily when you mess up a combination, you are never put back at the "start of the level" or anything, it just repeats and unlike God of War, it will use the same sequence you just failed, however, fail one against a boss character, he can do up to 25% damage to you, 4 failures and you are toast, or really close to it. Control could have had more attention paid to it. The swinging is cool, but run into a bulding and the camera will sometimes freak and get stuck somewhere momentarily, thats not a terrible detriment to gameplay, its when the camera gets stuck somewhere in a fight and you swinging at nothing you can see, thats frustrating.

Bruce Campbell makes his return as the Narrator, though he really gives you nothing new for this game aside from the "Matrix-Style" bullet time. If you have played Spider-man 2, dont expect too much new here. Like I said a fresh coat of paint.

This does not exactly live up to the free roaming sandbox gameplay. Framerate tends to struggle in closed areas, people are not very well detailed at all, they all look like scared puppy dogs, while you are very well designed, and the highest amount of detail is paid to Spidey and the bosses.

With that said this game does have its shiny points. Physics are somewhat used here, the sun reflects off windows realistically, at night you can go to buildings and look inside, even though they may be a cheap-o JPEG sitting behind a window, detail was paid to it a little. Spidey looks incredible, up close you can really see the detail in the suit, and black suit spidey is a crazy blast to play. However, *(SPOILER)*

when you get towards the end, and you have to fight Venom and Sandman, Venom is not really a problem, as long as you keep him stunned. Sandman is a pain in the glutes when you take over as New Goblin, the sixaxis control is frustrating. Laying down while playing this part is almost impossible. And judging the bombs is all hands down frustrating for a casual gamer such as myself.

Final thought:

If time and attention were paid to this game it could truly have been incredible. I would have waited another 6 months to a year for a truly great Spiderman game rather than 3 mediocre ones. This game is fun, and if you are a Spidey-freak, definitley dont pass this one up. If you understand the history of film-game franchises give this one a rent. Other than that, pass this one by. Or pick up Rainbow six, or even the Darkness.

If you've never played the second Spider-man game than this one will work nicely with you. I on the other hand find it very much the same as Spider-man 2. Which is displeasing to me. They didn't really make the city larger. Theres no reason the city has to be the same size. On PS3 they could make the city 5 times larger than on PS2 because of the amount of space the Blue-Ray disc allow. Although they did add an underground subway system that doesn't need to stop and load. The city does look much better now, but it's just not enough. Every thing is the same with Spider-man even with the black suit. On the other hand some of the character models look like another said bug eyed or worse thing. They didn't take their time with this game it was rushed by he look at it. I was hoping they would bring back a move or tool from the first Spider-man game in which you could point and shoot yourself in the direction you want like a gun using target cross hairs.

I dislike that they have introduced two versions of the game on the PS3. It has confused a lot of people and made others mad because they cannot be the New Goblin.

To me this is the same repetitive event that happen from the first Spider-man to second game. When Spider-man the movie/game was made it was mostly inside fighting and in the air combat with the annoying "get near the ground and die" thing. Also it had many arcade inside Training system type things to do. The second one had a larger city you could walk around in minus some of the sub games. Although it did have a mini arcade with mini games. The differences are great and the point is that from this first Spiderman PS3 game to the next may be even more tremendous because they didn't really take anything out to add more of something else in for the third. So when they get it together and think more plus work harder there will be a great Spider-man 4. I know they didn't work very hard on this third one. The first two was worked on more. They just copy and pasted from the second game. On this Spider-man 3D modelers did more work, animators did less work, and all the rest was copied and it was still all together was less than the first two as far as actual labor. I know this because of the end result.

The PS3's first Spider-man game is under it's true potential.

Lastly it's just very boring to me and for 60 USD it wasn't worth the money. If it was at most 15 USD it would be alright.

I was disappointed and cannot gather how fun this game is considering it could be better. I give it low points based on the earlier work. Someone who hasn't ever played the past games might think more highly of it.

This compares two controllers from the same company. Both are rather similar and are made to be closer to the Xbox 360 controller, I feel. The mini Blue controller is RF and thus cannot turn on the PS3. It can turn off the PS3 though, since that is done from an on screen menu. It has a dedicated RF dongle, feels well built and comfortable, and illuminates well. The controller is about 30% smaller than a typical PS3 controller by comparison. This is roughly 50% smaller than an Xbox 360 controller. Due to this, it is not as comfortable as the 360 controller. But, I feel it is more comfortable than the standard PS3 controller.

This controller was purchased for a five year old. The dual shock controllers are too large for a child's hands and do not allow them to reach all the buttons without changing hand position constantly. I have noticed that with this controller she is finally able to press buttons in fast combinations. This allows for less frustration and the faster response is aiding in the development of small motor skills. Game enjoyment has increased as well. She loves the fact that this controller has back lit buttons (something worth taunting me on as mine does not). For someone that hasn't memorized the controller layout, this is a positive when playing a game with minimal lighting. The rumble seems to work just fine. I have noticed no response lag when gaming. I don't know why the D-Pad and left joystick were swapped, but the controller's primary user doesn't seem to mind. The internal battery charges through USB and cannot be accessed, similar to the Sony controllers (and a plus to me).

As with all third party accessories, not all functions are available with this controller. I didn't ding the rating for them, but you wont be able to check the battery charge level through the PS3, or turn the controller off using the onscreen menu. That said, the controller does turn off on its own after a few minutes of non-use, which is a good approach for a child. the battery has lasted for a number of hour or two gaming sessions and hasn't required a charge since the initial charge three weeks ago. I don't intend to allow this to be used for marathon gaming sessions, so it is good for us.

After playing the 360 for years and loving the controller, I needed a PS3 controller with a similar layout. I first tried the Pro EX Controller for PS3 but couldn't deal with the huge dead zones in the sticks. I went for this controller instead.

I was a little worried about the size of the controller being too small to be comfortable. I have average-sized hands, and before I ordered this, I held a standard 360 controller in my hand. It felt great, and I couldn't imagine a smaller version feeling better. I decided to take the chance anyway, and I ordered the controller.

Let me tell you, this controller feels and looks great. My hands are just as comfortable with this Mini Pro Elite as they are with a regular 360 controller. Because it is smaller, I feel that I can access all of the buttons faster because they are in closer range. I don't detect any dead zones in the sticks, the buttons and vibrations feel great, and the battery seems to last a very long time. The battery life may be the most impressive feature on this controller.

You charge the controller with the standard USB cable you would use to charge any other PS3 controller, and you can charge while playing. This will take up two USB slots, however, as you need to keep the wireless plug-in, well, plugged in.

There is a button on the back of the controller that will light up the face buttons and the bumpers (well, L1 and R1, I suppose). It is a nice feature, albeit one that I do not use because I'm familiar with the buttons and would rather save the battery life.

This is a wireless controller, not a bluetooth one, so it will not power on your PS3, nor will it show remaining battery life (your controller will instead start blinking when you're running low). It can still access the menu to change controller settings and turn off the controller/console though.

Now, for the 'BUT..'

At least one other reviewer mentioned a problem with the controller only wanting to move in one direction after a few weeks. It is as if your analog stick is stuck going in one direction. Mine only wants to move to the right, and this of course makes the controller useless. It seems that some of the controllers are defective and will develop this bug, so be warned you may have to return/exchange it like I do. In this case, I suggest you buy from Amazon directly. They are sending me a replacement with One-day Shipping, and allowing me a month to return the defective controller all at no cost to me! What a great returns policy. This is why I will continue to buy from Amazon above other retailers.

Overall, I really love this controller, and it would have easily gotten 5 stars from me if not for the potential bug some users may experience. If you're on the fence about trying it though, GET IT! It is a great little controller and more comfortable than you'd think.

SUMMARY

-one of the best 360-style PS3 controller that I've found

Cons:

-Potential controller-ruining bug where analog will get 'stuck' in one direction

Unfortunately, my replacement controller has developed the same bug that locks the left analog stick in one direction. How.. annoying. I can't keep my rating at 4 stars for this. It pains me to say that I'll have to find another controller.

This controller had so much going for it, but in the end it just isn't worth the risk.

Was looking for a replacement PS3 controller and prefer the xbox 360 design. The min pro looked like a perfect fit. When it arrived, the construction appeared sturdy but this is when things went downhill. Started charging the controller and was looking forward to using it. After three hours, I noticed it was still charging. I thought at this point I would at least use it on a partial charge. When I tried to turn on the controller nothing happens. I leave the controller on overnight and still nothing. It works fine when powered by usb but nothing without it. In other words, it does not operate as a WIRELESS controller.

I am rating this controller a disappointing piece of trash as I wanted a wireless controller and the product did not work as promised. It is not worth the time to send back to amazon but at least I can write this review to warn others to look elsewhere. I guess you get what you pay for.
