Along with the third game this is one of the few rpgs I consistently go back to playing every now and again. Unlike the other various atelier games, you aren't punished in this one by time constraints so you are welcome to farm as many materials for alchemy as you want to.

There isn't anything too amazing about the stories in either game, but it is the combat system that really hooks you. Not enough jrpgs have a fun turn based battle system. They use a battle gauge that fills up on regular attacks and you spend it for more powerful attacks or spells. On top of the decision making that requires, the turn order gauge also plays an important role. Higher speed determines how fast you move to the right side of the bar for your turn to be had. Pushing the enemies back to the far left side of the bar with a break attack stuns them and allows for an auto crit on them. Since break attacks cant build up the attack gauge, you have to balance out each players turn to figure out how best to beat each boss.

Since then i've enjoyed other games with this sort of shared system in place. I highly recommend arc rise fantasia if you like this combat style. It is another hidden gem with one of the best story lines i've ever played.

When I got my PlayStation Move bundle I figured I was all set until I realized that charging two Dual Shock controllers and all of my Move equipment from one USB charger was going to be too much to keep everything properly charged. I went on the search for a charging dock and ran across some of the bigger name brands that ranged from $14 $25. Luckily, I found this for only a fraction of the price of the others on the market. The USB cord that's included can be connected from any USB port, which is double ended, I will explain that a bit more later. and ran into the charging dock, which snugly holds the controllers into the sunks as they charge. A blue ring lights up around the charger to indicate it's working, which also looks very stylish. Back to the double ended USB cord, about midway of the cord, it splits in half and the end that's doubled is the side that goes into the charging source, so it's the big end and doesn't really help charge any of the Move controllers, but the four ports available are enough to do what I need. So far, I've had no problem with getting them to charge and would recommend this product to anyone who needs to charge more than one Move controller simultaneously.

The install was a little tougher than anticipated. We've installed parts on Xbox 360 controllers and I must say Xbox has a much easier install. There was a video tutorial we watched for these that Geniusmods posted a link to and it was very helpful and informative, but I must say the PS3 controllers seem to be much more intricate than Xbox.

Anyway, once installed these things worked amazingly. We have a few modded Xbox 360 controllers, but no modded PS3 controllers. After installing these on the PS3 controller, we were able to shoot much faster without even having a mod. They definitely work wonders. I wasn't sure how much I'd like changing the fire button from R1 to R2 but I got used to it very quickly. Pleased with the product.

To anyone that has never experienced Blazblue first-hand, this is the game to buy. Or if you missed out on the previous game, this "Extended" follow-up is really the way to go. People who may have bought the first version of Continuum Shift, please note that this isn't a continuation as much as it is an update with a few character additions and changes to modes.

**Why Newbies to Blazblue should buy:

The first game is re-told: In story mode, the Extend version gives a condensed retelling of the first Blazeblue game, Calamity Trigger. The re-telling of the Calamity Trigger tale is actually pretty lengthy and Arc System Works discovered ways to involve more characters in the story that were vaguely featured in the first game (such as Tsubaki, Makoto and Hazama). The drawback to the condense version is that it doesn't feature some important unique characterizations found in the first game. You don't learn about Tager and his connection to Kokonoe, Hakumen's role is awkward and never really explained, and the fun-loving Bang doesn't get his moment to shine (does "talk to the hand girlfriend, for I am Bang Shishigami" ring a bell?).

Not as demanding the the previous Continuum Shift: The last game was hardcore. I would put it on the same level as Super Street Fighter IV due to the online and offline requirements for trophies/achievements. In the Extended version, the game still finds ways to challenge you like the previous game, but it's much more relaxed. Combo trials now feature a lot more variations (15 trials instead of the previous 10), which can help the player learn tactics they may not have even thought of using in battle. Another change involves the way the player levels up in the game, which is no longer dependent on playing online, but playing offline counts much more this time around. Basically, doing anything in the game will earn you points to help you level up!

**Why Blazblue Fans should grab this:

New stories for new faces: The last game introduced three new DLC characters. In the Extended version, their never-before told tales get included in the Blazblue saga. This version also introduces a brand new playable character, Relius. If you've played Continuum Shift's story previously, you might want to know all the stories featured in the last game are exactly the same with no changes. Players that have completed parts of story mode in the previous version of Continuum Shift will be happy to know a nice feature is made available to import the save file from the older game into the new game. It will definitely save you time from having to unlock items in the Gallery mode all over again.

Legion mode begone and enter the Abyss: That's right. Legion mode this time around has been traded in for Abyss mode. The Abyss is you taking a character into the depths of world and facing waves upon waves of enemies. The further you travel, the more powerful and complicated your enemies become. You'll eventually unlock perks to use in battle to make your character more even against your foes.

**Overall: If you've never had the pleasure of playing Blazblue, do yourself a favor and give it a try. What makes Blazblue special is that it does something many fighting games don't do. First, story is just as important as the fighting. It's rare to find a fighting game that takes time to not just create a story, but create a world of history and interweaving relationships. Secondly, every character is unique, different and down-right bizarre. You won't find character clones or similar move-sets in this. Lastly, the voice acting is top-notch. Usually if a Japanese game gives the option of selecting the original language track, I go for it. Blazblue is a rare, shining example of how an English dub can be as equally great as the original voice-over work. This is seriously one of the best fighters you can own.

To those familiar with Blazblue, it might be discouraging for some players that it's just an update of the last game. To those who really are true fans of the series and even if they may own the original Continuum Shift, you can't go wrong with this.

I would have given this game five stars if it weren't such a rip off for people who own Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift! Also, I would advise against paying another $20 for the Limited Edition because you can look at art and listen to sound in game and the calendar is not worth it! That said, Blazblue is one of the greatest fighting games ever and if you have never played Calamity Trigger or Continuum Shift it has a ton of content. Blazblue is very easy to learn but difficult to master so you'll be busy for a long time. The characters are very interesting. There are 19 in all. All of the animations are hand drawn not just the movies! The game does a very good job of teaching you how to play.

Presentation: The story is a little too chatty. Interface works well. 3 stars.

Graphics: Absolutely beautiful hand drawn characters. 5 stars.

Sound: Both the English and Japanese soundtracks are excellent. 4.5 stars because there are a few times when it suddenly switches from English to Japanese on you.

Gameplay: Very deep, easy to learn but tough to master battle system. 5 stars.

Lasting Appeal: Lots of stuff to do for people who are new to Blazblue but not a lot to offer people who own the previous installments. 3 stars.

Overall: 4 stars.

Additional comments that other reviewers haven't touched on enough yet:

This is a letdown in the way that Super Street Fighter IV AE was, albeit not quite as insulting, as AE somehow managed to make the previous version *worse*. There's very little new content, very close to the point of total redundancy. But AE at least let you upgrade via DLC for $15 ($10 during a sale at one point) instead of another $40 without any choice given. If EXTEND had this upgrade feature, it might be a little more forgivable, but as it stands, EXTEND is simply potentially unnecessary for people who either A) Have CS and all its DLC already, or B) Have CSII, which was PSP and 3DS-specific (the former version being far superior and is in some ways better than EXTEND--more on that later).

CSII wasn't a terrible idea, since there was indeed a lot of overly expensive DLC available, and some of it wasn't even complete--the DLC characters like Makoto, for instance, didn't even have an arcade mode to play with, and were only available in versus matches, and that was it. So you got those three extras, a couple of extra story sequences, some revised gameplay and balance, and a pretty wide variety of stuff in addition to what was offered as DLC. You didn't get what they held back on for this version, though, which was stories for the DLC characters. They got arcade modes, sure, but they did absolutely nothing for the plot.

EXTEND, on the other hand, puts AkSys in the same position that Capcom put itself in by having the audacity to release what is fundamentally a re-release of the original...-twice-. There is no excuse for this. None. Unless you've missed both iterations of CS completely, EXTEND doesn't offer nearly enough to warrant the $40 price tag, as it's barely a few more hours of gameplay, at best, and one single, lone new character who is already oddly boring to play as, not standing out very much compared to other characters. Compared to CS' original Hazama, Tsubaki, and Mu-12 additions, all of which were very significantly different from others, Relius is a lame duck, especially for being the one and only character they added here. Without any doubt, they're hard at work waiting to make them just like CS' DLC characters for $7.99 a pop. I think it's safe to say we can at least expect to see Kokonoe as DLC soon (her omission in this version is insensible, as there is clear evidence in the dialogue that, while we never see her get into fisticuffs, she is clearly strong enough on her own to take on her own creation since the original CT, Tager, whom she has made serious threats of physical violence toward--further, even EXTEND itself hints that she'll be playable soon during Valkenhayn's bad ending), and possibly some form of Jubei, but that's just my speculation.

Yes, you get four and a half new character story modes. I say "half" because the game includes a brief version of the original Calamity Trigger from a new perspective so it makes more sense in the grand scheme of things (there were just too many unanswered questions that weren't addressed in CS, and EXTEND more or less forces answers for these questions because it's pretty clear they're making all this up as they go along). However, don't expect anything incredible to happen in any of these stories. Remember, none of this is a continuation; all of this is still the CS story, just from those four characters' perspectives during it. None of it is particularly entertaining or even interesting, nor are any of the joke endings (always some of the best treats from CS) particularly funny. Relius', Valkenhayn's, and Platinum's aren't particularly funny, with just Makoto's feeling like it had a little inspiration behind it. Speaking of the series' trademark comedy scenes that are always done non-canon and out-of-universe, there are no additional "Teach Me, Miss Litchi!" episodes for comedic intermission value, either. Sigh.

What pains me the most is the loss of Legion as a playable mode, which was replaced with the far-less-entertaining Unlimited Mars mode. I found Legion 1.5 in CSII to be easily one of the most entertaining parts of the game, and I loved creating my own roster of characters with individual stats to take on entire maps of foes with varying degrees of difficulty. To see Legion just disappear was just crushing when I discovered it. Abyss mode, which was never all that fun to begin with (and is kind of just a slower version of Unlimited Mars when you think about it) because of the constant interruptions during matches (all of which require totally new loading screens for matches before the match is even finished) and mechanics that just were never any fun to begin with, is still there, though, and a little modified. But losing Legion for what feels like a throwaway extra mode with no thought added is just no good. Legion was by far better than this new Unlimited Mars mode, which is simply a boss rush with the difficulty jacked up to 11, in which the AI is clearly cheating, forcing you to play differently against them than you would an actual person. You never forget that it's still AI difficulty, not competition against other people, which is a big deal for quite a few, because that invariably means finding something that works and spamming it incessantly, because the AI never seems to learn. And, ha, good luck if you by some miracle manage to make it to the sheer insanity of Unlimited Ragna in this mode. Beating him will require doing things you would not normally do in a match, as he will always be faster, stronger, and will predict anything you think you can do against him. Nothing you do will get through if you try it the typical way, and he will counter every single attack you throw at him and punish you back tenfold every time. Further, if he manages to catch you off-guard with his Life Leech grab for a measly 50 Heat which he will almost always have handy, *it now is a rushing grab that, if you're unlucky enough to get caught in, can almost completely deplete your life bar in one hit and give every bit of it to him*. It's a poor replacement for Legion, no question.

ABOUT THE CARRYING-OVER OF SAVES: You *CAN* carry over save data from CS, but NOT CSII from the PSP or 3DS. You do *NOT* have to start from scratch with everyone's story modes along with everything else. The mistake most people seem to be making is that they don't fully read the first screen that pops up when you boot the game for the first time, which asks what initially looks like nothing more than creating a new save file, but at the end is where it says you can use CS data instead if you choose not to create a new file. In other words, DO NOT CHOOSE "YES". Instead, choose "No", and you will be given the option to use your previous save instead, which will be transferred. If you screw up the first time, simply reset the save data completely from the options menu, which will automatically reboot the game, where you can try again.

This leaves a bad taste in my mouth after the unbelievable disappointment of SSFIV AE. The AE edition of SSFIV was such a bad idea and done in such poor taste, most people simply reverted back to the original SSFIV and ignored AE altogether, as every change they made seemed to be for the worse, buffing what never needed buffing and further nerfing the useless characters, as well as changing the mechanics in a way that made the game less about skill and more about spamming the same moves repeatedly. AE was an embarrassment. EXTEND isn't quite that bad, but it's on the same wavelength, for sure. Not a lot of new content, some changes that most certainly did not need to be made, a serious lack of innovation, and is simply not what we wanted, which was a continuation of CS, not a re-release with just more minor stuff added that still doesn't change the grand scheme of things.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is a fantastic game in every aspect and has brought a great amount of enjoyment. The creators put forth a great deal of work and made many improvements from previous installments. The game feels like an entirely different game even though it continues the story of Ezio. I am extremely pleased so far.

The Story

-------------------

As always, the Assassin's Creed story is exceptional. You continue the story of the battle between the Assassins and the Templars. You dive further into Ezio's life and explore the city of Rome. The story is as great as ever and the leading a group of assassins is a truly great feeling. The missions are well tied to the story. I cannot say too much about the story without spoiling it; however you will not be disappointed.

The Gameplay

-------------------

The gameplay is fantastic! It is one of the major improvements the creators made to the game. The combat system has been greatly improved to be more aggressive. No more sitting there, waiting for an opponent to make a move. Leading a group of assassins is great in combat. You can call them to aid you and watch as they assassinate, shoot, and slice your enemies along with you. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood also comes with new weapons, machines, and equipment. Now you can soar down towers using parachutes and quickly air assassinate people. Also you can now truly fight on horseback! It provides a whole new element to the game. The free climbing is as great as ever. The gameplay has been improved in too many ways to cover them all.

The Online Experience

-----------------------

Online is brilliant. It's a whole new experience that has never truly been seen before. There are several different game modes and maps to play on. Also there are over 10 characters to play as, along with unique weapons and abilities, such as the ability to sprint away, or morph into a different character. An online assassin game is truly amazing. The feeling of sweeping from the roof to an unsuspecting player is great. The online is a HUGE success and I love every minute of it. It adds a huge deal of replay to the game.

The Replay Amount

-----------------------

The game offers a great deal of replay in contrast to the past games. In Brotherhood, there is a huge amount of challenges to play through. Also, similar to previous editions, you can search for hidden items in the game. There is much more to do when you get bored of following the campaign. This isn't even including the online! The online mode makes the game have a huge amount of replay time. Brotherhood is much longer than other installments of the games due to challenges and online mode!

Conclusion

--------------

This game is truly outstanding. I love everything about it. The story, gameplay, and online make this game exceed my expectations. This game is superior to the other two Assassin's Creeds. If you even remotely enjoyed the previous Assassin's Creeds, than get Brotherhood. You will love every second of it!

When I heard Brotherhood was coming out so close to AC2, at first I was over trilled and totally hyped up to get my hands on it... but as many have pointed out, a sequel in less than year is worrisome when it comes to quality.

Well, the doubts were completely answered with an amazing, full, and engaging game.

Story wise: It is finally being made a LOT more clear that Desmond is the face of Assassin's Creed. He is getting a lot more playtime and the first section you play with him as is nostalgically similar to the Assassin's Tombs in AC2 (only a lot easier and more latches and lifts.)

The Shrines of Romulus will be the new "assassin tombs" giving a armor that will give you full synchro with Ezio.

On Ezio's side you will see the return of "flags" that were in AC1 and the "feathers" in AC2, and getting all of them unlocks their own rewards.

In conclusion, as to not give any spoilers, the story is what you would expect from this franchise.... awesome. Graphics looks a lot better than what I remember (having played the ps3 version of AC@.)

Gameplay:

Combat-

Assassin's Creed is definitely evolving and I am liking it's progress. AC1 was basically spam the attack button and block... cool at first, right?

AC2 expanded on this with counter kill moves, but then we would be stuck waiting for the A.I to attack us for easy kills.

Brotherhood ADDS all of that and combines it with a stronger and smarter A.I, making the enemies attack you back to back (instead of in turns), and offensive gameplay is now a lot stronger than it was before. So the battles are quick and gory with even larger battles going on compared to previous ACs.

Additions to previous features-

>New Weapons

>New Armors (sadly the "armor" gotten for pre-ordering at Amazon is an outfit)

>Trade Items furthering the element of a role playing game

>Run your own city (in this case Rome) is back on a larger scale

> and of course, the ability to make your Brotherhood of assassins (it's the name of the game!)

Multiplayer-

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the first game in series with a multiplayer mode!! We asked for it, and they answered.

The animi you see at the beginning of AC2 is the back story of the multiplayer section of the game. Abstergo templars use the animi to gain the skills of assassins with the bleeding effect, and that is us.

Each player is assigned a target (some other player), now the player has to assassinate its target without losing their cover, or they will be killed by the person who was assigned to assassinate THEM!

I haven't gotten into the story mode that much yet, but apparently the multiplayer characters we will play as are in the main story, so everything is tied in nicely, right?!

Uplay pointsAssassin's Creed 2 was the first to have these and of course, every new Ubisoft game has them. Brotherhood is no exception to this. If you do not know what this entails, it is basically ubisoft's version of trophies or achievements. They unlock exclusive themes and ingame media (extra bullets skins, multiplayer character, etc). Pretty nice of them.

If you have already beaten AC2 as I have you get 20 uplay points at the start of the game.

In Closing:

As a fan of Assassin's Creed, I can't help but just praise it with a perfect score. If you have seen trailers, demos, gameplay videos... just take a dive and give it a try, it at least deserves a trial run. You wont regret it.

I've followed this story line since game 1. I fell in love with the original just because of the freedom in it. You always went at your pace, you chose what starter quests you did before going for the big kill, and there were almost no restrictions. You could either go kamikaze on your targets or be stealthy. You could stay and fight the guards afterward or bolt away.

The second game added to that. You still had a sense of freedom only they added so much more. The armor, the weapons, everything was customized to your own wants. You got to rebuild the villa which was fun. And the story was a bit longer.

Now Brotherhood, I had high expectations for. Based on how epic the last two were I thought this would be even better. However, I was taken aback by a few things.

First things first, this game is incredibly glitchy. For those that haven't experienced what me and my close group of friends have, you are extremely lucky. Because we've been randomly desynced, gotten stuck to the point where you have to restart the game, didn't have our targets show up a few times and more. It can be really terrible in multiplayer. The heads up factor will sometimes completely disappear in multiplayer sometimes leaving you in a weird sort of eagle vision. Sometimes you lose your kills or don't get your allotted points for them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Borgia towers, Romulus lairs, and rebuilding Rome. For the most part you had free rein with this, you could do it however you wanted. Customizing the colors of your armor was cool because you could mix and match capes. The addition of heavy weapons to carry around like the big axe and sword was AWESOME. Also the improved mounted horse combat was excellent. I loved being able to ride a horse through the streets of Rome.

To counter that, the free rein for your major missions is almost shot. Sure most of the time you can do it your way.... if you don't want full sync. My first time through, I didn't get full sync on anything. They will actually require you in order to get full synchronization, to kill your targets or do something in a specific way. You either had to use your assassin recruits, hidden blade, smoke bomb etc. This might just be me, but when I play a sandbox type game like this, I'd like to choose how to kill my target. Also a majority of these missions you cant be detected in. I know the game is built around stealth, but the last game had a good medium with that. We all have days where we don't want to tip toe around and we want to go Leroy Jenkins on everything. You're SOL if you're doing a main mission and that's the case. You will get desynchronized if you get caught. Furthermore if a guard even sees you, you BARELY have anytime to silence him. You either need to never be seen by anyone or be right behind him. I've had moments in the game where I silence one guard and a guard beneath me who isn't even in my line of site catches me and I desync.

The multiplayer was really super epic when I first started it. I bought the game the first day it came out and I did a manhunt my first time. I came out in 4th place on my first try which isn't bad. I really enjoyed doing it. I took a break for two days, returned to it and everyone was over level 20 while I was level 2. I was immediately under-powered on every aspect which made multiplayer very unenjoyable for me. They all had the technology on their personas that I didn't have. This is probably my fault because I didn't work at it as hard and took that break, but it IS something worth mentioning. Before multiplayer can actually be something you like you have to withstand a great amount of butt kicking. It just destroyed whatever desire I had to play it, I personally like to be evenly matched with my opponents.

I will continue to play this series because of the story line. If they keep taking the things I like out of it, I will STILL play. The story line is one of the best I've seen in a video game like this. It keeps you at the edge of your seat and leaves you trying to guess and theorize what will happen next. The plot is absolute genius and I will suffer through the next one in order to know what happens next.

Read Best Reviews of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Here

To start off the developer of this game has stated greatly this is not a full fledged sequel but more of a part 2 to Assassin's Creed 2. Knowing this when purchasing this game will greatly help the overall enjoyment of the game with out raising the expectations factor beyond achievement. So what im saying is to go in expecting to finish off Assassin's Creed 2 and you'll be greatly pleased. As with most of my reviews I post the pros and cons and my opinion at top while keeping the in depth review lower.

Personal Opinion: If you loved Assassins Creed 2 there is absolutely no reason you should not like or enjoy this game. I would also greatly suggest playing AC2 before starting this game if your new to the series. If youve played them all i would also suggest warming up on AC2 for a few hours just be reminded of all the work put into the villa and the character growth of Ezio... some of you will understand why.

On a side note I my connection on my ps3 is to low to play any multiplayer matches due to the snow so I will edit my review with the addition of my opinions of online if i deem it necessary.

Pros:

1. Slightly refined combat making for a more offensive approach

2. Economic scale much higher than what the Villa was and balanced

3. The feeling of a badass has been upped

4. Having apprentices and watching them descend upon a group of guards like a pack of wolves

5. Secondary objectives provide challenges for some missions

6. Length of game if your a completionist

7. Almost everything is optional

8. Bringing your horse inside the city and calling it with a whistle like in Red Dead Redemption

9. Conquering that what the hell how am i gonna climb this feeling

10. Desmond has grown some finally

Cons:

1. The camera and its positioning behind objects during fights on occasion

2. Buying some large landmarks for a steep price only to find out they provide very little income

3. Overshooting that one ledge and dying

4. The larger number of do not be detected missions can be somewhat annoying for some

5. Losing an apprentice

6. Having to wait to take over all of Rome due to that stupid wall that unlocks as you progress through the story

7. That what the hell how am i gonna climb this feeling and having it for nearly half an hour (personal problem)

8. Desmonds getting fat...

GAMEPLAY:

Overall you still play as Ezio Auditore and he handles generally the same. While some of the moves appear to have changed everything will be like picking Assassin's Creed 2 back up and going at it. Youll run and jump between buildings, judging distances on the fly, and making those leaps of faith on the fly as been one of the core mechanics as to any entry in this series. One of the more dramatic changes is without a doubt the chain kills. when dealing out a killing blow to an enemy you can aim the analog stick in the direction of another opponent and a click of the attack button will allow you to automatically kill him. Even though it may sound a bit easy at first, but enemies like most games can end your chain kills by hitting you, dodging, or being to far away. It makes for a slight challenge to string together a long killstreak but ultimately more satisfying. While one poor mans review of this game who gave it two stars complained about enemies still taking turns at attacking I have noticed they are not as hesitant now and will swing in at any chance. Weapons are generally the same with the inclusion of a crossbow working generally as a stealth kill pistol. In a personal opinion I still prefer the hidden blades and short swords/daggers due to their more brutal nature and speed at which you can slice kills together.

Rome is huge and the fast travel networks is a necessary addition as well as the ability to use a horse inside the walls. Taking out Borgia towers works as both view points as well as unlocking building's for sale. There are separate view points as well. Romulus lairs instead of Assassin's tombs or to replace them i should say but they still unlock a the most powerful armor in the game.

APPRENTICES:

Generally the apprentices are just a gameplay addition but I am giving them a separate section just due to having to put work into them. If your like me and get attached to something you've put work into you'll enjoy the apprentices just due to the separate leveling and watching them swarm your target while you watch from a roof after signaling them with the left trigger. They are my favorite addition by far and work somewhat like a pack of wolves stalking a small group of deer. They attack out of nowhere and are ruthless and their efficiency only gets deadlier as you progress them through contracts in foreign areas. You can send a number of apprentices to one of many foreign major cities to complete one of many contracts with a range of difficulties. As they level up their efficiency gets higher making the more effective at difficult contracts. If you want to level up the recently recruited civilian who was being oppressed by a group of guards till you intervened you can send them with a higher ranked assassin who has a much higher chance to succeed on a difficult mission making for a large bonus to the newbie. When they are not out doing contracts they will be in Ezio's hideout ready to assists you on your command. The more recruits you have the more Assassins you can call in to aid you at any point. To many guards hold down the trigger longer to allow for a hail of very precise arrows that will clear the street. Having difficulty getting to a target call in back up to either deal with the guards or take out the target themselves. Its all extremely self explanatory in the game but watching these little devils wipe a room clean while you are watching in the distance is extremely satisfying.

ECONOMY101:

If you completed the Villa in AC2 you will get a much larger scale this time around with Rome as a whole. You can purchase a large number of stores/businesses this time around but bring in much less money so collecting large numbers of those stores is necessary. You wont find yourself with an endless supply of money till much later on and closer to the finale rather than halfway. Pouches have received a large price increase as a side note so expect to drop some serious cash.

TIPMake sure your carrying at least 4000 florins as some missions require large amounts of money.

STORY:

Do not expect any large plot reveals either as 90% of the story revolves around Ezio taking over Rome. This time besides on a couple of occasions leaving the animus is entirely upto you. Ezio is after the power seat in Rome while building an army of followers and building an empire up. You will help civilians, assassinate corrupt officials, break into buildings, watch your main targets escape... alot, and good ol Leonardo makes a return thats a plus. its not as earth breaking as AC2. On a downside Ezio is cool but there is that lack of connection to Ezio if you haven't played AC2 in a while. Ezio starts out as the master assassin this time around so without watching him grow its kind of disconnecting. Personally story is the least of my concerns due to the love i have fore the gameplay.

Recently, newer games have been all hype (cough...Star Wars...cough....Black Ops...sneeze...Fallout) and just do not deliver. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood however, has lived up to all the hype and is truly an amazing game. First off, gameplay is as addictive as in previous Assassin's Creed games. It still has that feeling you get when you assassinate someone with your hidden blade. The graphics are far superior from the previous Assassin's Creed games (Not to mention the cut-scenes). Multi-player is like a dream come true. The added characters you can play as (in multi-player) is a definite plus. All in all, there isn't anything negative to say about this game.

It fits well around the controller but the middle where the 'start' 'select' buttons are it's loose, causing it to gather. Where the symbol buttons are extra silicone was covering one of the buttons so I had to take my small scissors to it. This is a cheaply made product. I'm not going to return something of this price and it's pink so I'll deal with it.

I bought three PS3 games on launch: Madden, NHL 2K7 and Call of Duty. Of the three, I like this one the best. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is fantastic too. If you bought the EA NHL series in the past, do not hesitate to purchase this game it is all that and more. The only flaw and its a very minor one is that the menu screens look pretty unimpressive and more like PS2 quality. But really, who cares about that? The play-by-play announcer is a little lame, mispronouncing numerous names. He was obviously not a hockey fan. You can't beat Gary Thorne and Bill Clement as a broadcast team, so hopefully they can upgrade for next year's version.

This is (with the exception of NHL 93 on SNES) the best hockey game I've played. Hockey is one of those sports that seems custom made for video games. The action is fast, constantly changing directions. However, the fine details of the game were, in the past, difficult to translate to video games. Let's do a pro and con breakdown, shall we?

Pros:

fantastic, realistic game play. Your D men on the point in the O zone will actually play the point. They'll trap pucks along the boards before the exit the O zone. Players on offense set up in position like in the real games. Players play the fore and back check when dumping the puck into the zone. Odd man rushes feel right and you're still rewarded more for being able to use the poke check than hitting. And you'll pay if you get out of position defensively. Heck, the neutral zone trap D that teams play even comes out well in the game. This factor (realism) is by far the heaviest by which I rate a hockey game.

Graphics are greatly improved from previous gen. They could be better, but the player models look great.

Decent commentary. It doesn't get old too fast, but sometimes the game moves too fast for the commentary to keep up. They'll often use a players name incorrectly. The only example I can think of is, say, a Goalie makes a stop and moves the puck alone to a skater. The skater may be on a break-away, but the commentator will state the goalie's name as the player on the break-away simply because the game itself has moved too fast for the commentary, if that makes sense. It's like the commentators are going to say something about the goalie's save, and the break-away at the same time, so they end up mixing the two statements into one.

The fight system is improved too. Instead of the action stopping immediately for two players about to drop the gloves, you're promted on screen, during the game action, to press select to fight. It tells you which two players are about to go at it as well. That way you can consciously decide whether you want to duke it out, or let the game continue. If it's one of your tough guys that want's to throw down, you can hit select and it's on. If it's one of your weaker, finesse players, you can ignore the select button and continue playing without a stop in the action.

Cons:

I'll have to fine tune the gameplay a bit with the sliders, as it's a bit too easy for me to score. Granted, I've been playing on the default difficulty, so I have no room to complain. One timers are still pretty easy, and it's very easy to deke the goalies on break-aways. That's really my only complaint so far, and I'm sure that's easily fixed by bumping the difficulty up a level.

All in all, if you're a fan of the game of hockey, or just like Hockey video games, you won't be disappointed with NHL 2K7.

Don't be misled by reviews from people who've said the gameplay and/or stats are unrealistic. Everything in the game can be adjusted through the use of sliders that control every aspect of the game. Someone mentioned 80 shots per game at 10 minute periods. I play full 20 minute periods, real time, and neither side gets near 80 shots a game. Why? Adjustments. I play at All-Star level, goalie strength set to 50%, Defense 100%, offense 0%, speed at 20% or so, speed burst 37%, speed burst duration 17%. These last 3 are probably the most important when trying for realistic action. With Speed burst set too high, every play can be a breakaway. At this setting, you might go the whole game without one. If the scoring/shots are still too high, notch passing down to 70 or 60%, there are a lot of missed passes in real hockey, and if you make every pass with the setting at 90 or 100, well of course you can get a shot or two off every minute of the game, especially with the speed setting too high as well. Believe me, everything can be adjusted, I've played over 120 games with this, and still sometimes tweek these settings for a most realistic and challenging experience.

I totally agree with you. I have played this game and EA's NHL 07 on the 360. This game is superior in every way except graphics. And that is easily overlooked. Now the graphics are not bad, they are solid, but NHL 07 is better, with more detail. This game however, is superior in gameplay, realism, animations, and a noticeably obvious lack of in game bugs. EA's NHL you try and pass the puck with the goalie, and it will go in the total opposite direction. This game is just more enjoyable, more playable, and cooler to watch. The slider options are great. I usually don't like that concept, but I have effectively been able to create the type of game I want to play. I have played college hockey, and have played hockey video games going back to NHL 94, and this is definitely the choice of this years pick. Hopefully next year they will improve it visually, fix a few small problems, and leave the gameplay alone. I also want to say, I hate the coach's speech before the game. Leave it out of next year. I give 4 stars because I would like to see the graphics improved, they could be better I'm sure on the PS3, and there is some room for improvement in some other areas.

Quite possibly the best "sport" related game for the first wave launch. The graphics are awesome. I'm not even that big of a hockey fan. The ice looks outstanding. I too was a big EA supporter, not anymore.

I bought the HIDEit mount solely with the intention of getting my PS3 off of a table I had been using previously to get it out of the reach of my small children. The mount was easy to install, looks great on the wall, and keeps my PS3 out of reach. If I had to provide any criticism it would be that there's no slot in the mount to run cables behind the PS3 when mounting on the left of a TV. I mounted it on left as the right side would've allowed the heat from the PS3 to blow right into the TV.

I recently purchased the keyboard from my local store (sorry Amazon--couldn't wait). I reviewed the keyboard on amazon a little under the game listing, so I will try not to repeat everything I wrote under Rock Band 3.

First-It's a ton of fun and really a fantastic addition to the game. I know that not all songs have keyboard parts, so it is a little limiting, but for the songs that have keyboards it's great. I hope they will re-release songs like Journey's Don't Stop Believing and add the keyboard part.

Pro-keys is challenging because there are 25 keys instead of just 5 buttons like the guitar has. You actually have to "practice" to reach expert level. I've been playing piano for 25 years and I have to play the songs a few times just to get through hard level. Of course, that could just mean that I suck after 25 years, but who knows?

I have a feeling the visual part of this will be similar to Pro-Guitar. The screen probably shows about 15 keys (black and white) at a time and then it shifts left to right during the song to show other keys. That is probably the most confusing and difficult part. In the old rockband when playing a guitar or drums, the screen is static and doesn't shift from left to right, but similar to the old rockbands, the notes still come down a sort of highway. You really have to see it to know what i mean. Regardless, it can be pretty hard to keep up with the finger adjustments. It definitely requires some practice.

YOU WON'T LEARN TO PLAY PIANO BY PLAYING THIS GAME. Just thought I'd get that out there. I would take a lesson if you want to learn how to play. The game play doesn't necessarily go along with how you would play it on a piano. They do a good job with the limited amount of keys they have , but if you really play the instrument then you would notice right away. i.e. the song may move an octave higher, but you are moving an octave lower in the game. That's also a little confusing.

Overall, I found it to be a lot of fun and it added a new dimension to the game for me. I'm not recommending the keyboard stand unless you want to sing and play at the same time. I think $30 is a little expensive for a stand. The keyboard is also expensive at $80 by itself, but I still think it's worth it.

Rock on!

--Tracey

Rock band is rock band BUT why in the heck would ANYONE pay this kind of money for this bundle when you can buy the game for $40 and the keyboard for $70 separately. Oh, let's see, let me pay an extra $140 just so Ii don't have to go them separately? Great buy!

If you buy this bundle for 200$ you're an idiot. The guitar is 80 dollars and the game is 50 for a total of 130 sold separately.

I bought this thinking it was a protective skin. It's really some stick on graphic vinyl. The only thing it's going to protect your controller from, is dust. It does look really good. The only thing it really does is dress up your controller. If your looking to dress up your controller cheap then this is perfect. If your looking for real protection then save your money.
