Rugby challenge 2 is just as good as the first installment. My only complaint is the games licensing shortcomings. I just wish there was an easy way to keep rosters updated.

Rugby Challenge 2 is a pretty good video game. why don't like about it is the passing in this sense of you can randomly just keep passing the ball even when there's no way that the ball can be passed. I understand its a video game so there last roles in that in the sense of an actual game there's no way that that's going to be happening in The international level

Really excellent rugby game, the first one that lets you make all the tactical decisions that are in the sport.

Gameplay is way behind other sports games. The rucks take forever and it's too easy to create turnovers and get your ball taken in a ruck. I haven't played a ton of games to see if it gets better as you learn the tricks, but with how bad it is I don't think I'm going to take any more time to learn to play any better. I'd skip this game.

I'm not ordinarily a big fan of first-person shooters. I generally find them a bit tedious and splatter-oriented. I also have shied away from survival horror games like Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil. I'm fond of real-time strategy games like Command and Conquer and more puzzle-oriented shooters like Metroid or Ratchet & Clank. I'm also a big fan of old-school adventures like Myst, Obsidian, Syberia.

So, it was with some trepidation that I popped Bioshock into my Mac, after all these years of waiting for it to be ported to this platform.

Bottom line: Bioshock isn't the usual tired FPS/survival horror retread. It is atmospheric, exhilarating, creepy, and deserves all of its accolades as a ground-breaking gaming landmark. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to experience one of the most enthralling games of the last decade.

In terms of performance, by the way, this game runs exceptionally-well on my 27" iMac (3 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4670+256 MB VRAM) on Snow Leopard in the game's default modes. Cranking up the resolution to the maximum screen resolution (2560x1440) and graphics details maxed out on all possible settings (shadows, water, etc) does result in a some choppiness. It's playable in that mode, but things get hairy in melee encounters with multiple splicers attacking simultaneously. For the best performance on a display this size, dropping the resolution and graphical options down a tick or two will improve display smoothness.

All in all, I'd give this game the highest rating I've ever given a game. Now, on to Bioshock 2!

Many people have already extensively discussed BioShock's story, features, and gameplay in reviews of the console versions of the game, so I'm just going to talk about a few things I've noticed as a long-time fan of first-person shooters.

*BioShock is one of the most well-written games ever. Even if you aren't familiar with Ayn Rand, the story is rich, moving, and deeply satisfying. The voice acting, character development, and cutscenes are all of very high quality.

*The underwater setting is unique (finally, a game not set on a distant planet, a tropical island, a military base, or some combination of those) and beautifully realized. The music, environmental sounds and Art Deco graphics are all well done and add a lot to the playing experience.

*Each level is designed well and contains a fair amount of territory to explore. You are on rails more or less, as in all FPS games, but there is enough freedom to avoid making the game feel oppressively linear.

*Overall, the game is not terribly difficult. Boss battles are only slightly harder than fights with generic enemies, for the most part, and there aren't any ridiculously difficult puzzles to solve. The developers focused more on the story and on making all aspects of the game fit together holistically, rather than on trying to come up with mega-challenges for diehard gamers.

*Replayability is high, due to the way weapons and powers are earned as well as to the ability to follow different strategies throughout the game. Having said that, BioShock isn't as chock full of hidden features, secret abilities, and obscure actions as Japanese games (the Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil series all come to mind here. And yes, I know SH and RE are survival horror games, not FPS's).

-----

Bottom line: despite being a port to the Mac, BioShock is still one of the best games currently available. Anybody who enjoys FPS and action games will dig BioShock. Judged on gameplay mechanics alone, BioShock is a four star game but the stunning graphics, high production values, and outstanding storyline push it to five stars.

I bought this game direct from Feral Interactive. Love the game and they have great customer support. They are fast and courteous. If you needed 'em, feel free to contact them. They are friendly like Amazon.com.

PROs: Great game play. Nice port for the MAC (exception for the driver NVIDIA driver issue). The XBOX 360 Wireless Controller is fully supported. I have the PC version of this game and the MAC version looks almost exactly like the PC version. The water rendering is different on the MAC side. Overall this game is a must have.

Only problem that I have is Apple has some NVIDA graphic card driver issues. This interferes with this game's performance, see below.

CONs: NVIDIA graphic card driver issues! NVIDIA graphic card driver issues! NVIDIA graphic card driver issues! I stated this three times because this game only plays for about 5-7 minutes till the game freezes. This is not Feral's problem. Apple needs to get their act together with NVIDIA and create a patch to update the existing driver.

I contacted Feral Technical Support (fast and courteous) and they acknowledged the NVIDIA driver issue immediately. Snow Leopard broke something within the NVIDIA graphic card driver. They've stated that they can't do much until Apple and NVIDIA corrects the Snow Leopard NVIDIA driver. I have Snow Leopard (disappointed in it) and Feral Interactive stated that they hope OS 10.6.2 update will resolve the freezing issue. Let's hope Apple gets it together. Also, Feral has issued an interim patch to help with the stuttering issue.

I have utilized BootCamp for the PC version of this game. This game plays beautifully on my Windows XP partition. I use the same graphic card (NVIDIA 8800) on both Operating Systems. So I know it's not a RAM and Graphic card issue.

It's difficult to put into words in any sort of new way the accolades of compliments this game received from professional publications whereas I wouldn't come across as sophomoric. I'll begin, then, with something small that sets me apart from those publications; personal computer specs!

MacPro (Early 2009 Edition)

Mac OS X 10.6.2/Quad-Core Xeon W3520 2.66GHz

3GB RAM/640GB HDD/2 SuperDrives (DVD-RW)/ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB

My intention is not to gloat I hope, I get a new computer every few years and this is the latestI had an MDD G4 1GHz/1GB RAM/Radeon 9800Pro for years.

If you've played the console editions as I have the one noticeable lower quality is in the introduction where your character is on the planeon the console versions, if I am not mistaken, this is rendered in real time using Bioshock's [Unreal 3] engine... here, it is videountil you crash, which is quite a short amount of time from when you click New Game anyway, and here's where the computer version shines (read; outshines).

The graphics are amazingyou have to *see* the water effects to really appreciate it. Almost every little detail of the game's locales has a very deliberately unique feel to it and the storyline will suck you in as it is tightly wound up in your actions. For a really good, visual review of this game I'd hunt down the Bioshock review on the GameTrailers com website.

As an extra note: This game takes advantage of multiple core CPUs and hunting down the INI located at "~/Library/Preferences/Feral Interactive/Bioshock/MacInit/Bioshock.ini" look for "HavokNumThreads=2" and change the "2" to the number of CPU cores you have. In my case this is "4". The game will not recognize a number higher than the amount of PHYSICAL CORES you have so forget about the hypothetical Hyperthreading number, FYI. The fluidity of the game was immediately noticeable after changing this value. For more on tweaking check out TweakGuides com's Bioshock pagejust about anything applicable to the PC version is applicable to the Mac version.

My Dell monitor's maximum resolution is 1680x1050 and Bioshock runs quite well at this resolution with all settings at maximum... the consoles max out at 1080p with the optimum set-up and can't compare to the computer version's resolution or textures/graphics.

Now, utilizing flip-flop politics, I digress to the storyline. Again I can't go into much detail because I won't regurgitate what's already been said, but as was the aphorism of Reading Rainbow(tm); "...but don't just take my word for it!" Even if you don't like first person shootersand I've read a handful of people comment agreeably from that campyou will very likely enjoy this game.

Get it.

WOW! What am amazing game! After hearing about this game for the longest time and seeing what a monster hit Bioshock 2 became, I had to try this out. I'm the to say that I am NOT a first person shooter person, I suck at it and I just don't get very involved in most of the FPS stories. But Bioshock changed the way I look at FPS, the story is complex and involving, it grabs you. And the way the stories are told is extremely creative and different from all the other games.

In conclusion, if you haven't played it, I highly recommend!!

Well there are plenty of reviews here already so not to rehash what everyone else has said, I will keep my review short and to the point. Overall, I personally love this game as there is nothing else on the market that covers the action genre so much as this game does. The graphics are excellent, no slow-down, detail is amazing etc. The cons are as everyone else has said regarding forgetful story, bad voice-acting, short, etc. I will say if you're looking for a deep adventure, look elsewhere. This game is all action. With that said, most of time the reason I read reviews is if it is worth spending the hard-earned funds to purchase the product. The game is short. I completed the game in a week on normal (about 7 hours). Now here is where the meat is, re-playability. If you are the type of person that likes to complete games over on higher difficulties than you are in the right place. I am attempting "godly hard" mode and am not able to pass the first section of the first level. There is some real difficulty here and it is something I have not experienced since the days of 2-D gaming. Beating this mode will give anyone serious bragging rights. Also, after beating the game the first time, there are 6 challenge modes to complete that are fun and difficult at the same time (challenge 6....yikes!!). This game should be played by everyone, no doubt about that. Should this game be purchased at full price by everyone? That's for you to decide. Just know what you are getting is a great action game that bets on replaying. No more, no less. If you need an idea of what you are getting into action wise, think Bayonetta and Mad World (same great developer). Now, how do I increase my gaming skill for this game on "godly-hard"....

Attitude. This game screams ATIITUDE. I'm a college student, so I obviously don't have a lot of money to blow, but I decided to take a plunge and buy this game Day 1. I was not dissapointed. If you're looking for an engaging storyline with deep characters, look elsewhere. All you'll find here is a big ol' can of whoop ass. This is by no means a bad thing, in fact this is a good thing because this game knows it's an action game and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. Imagine, if you will, the best action movie you've ever seen. Now, multiply that by 10. Add a cigarette smoking badass in a battle suit that enhances his every ability. On top of that, add huge mechs who want your blood. Now add Russians to the mix. That's what Vanquish is in a nut shell. I'm positive that many people will give this game a bad review because it isn't an arty game. This game is unashamed to be ridiculous and over the top. In fact, it revels in it. And to be quite honest, once you start the game you can't help but feel like a badass who's shooting everything in sight. Is this game worth 60 bucks? Hell yes. If you have some extra cash in your bank account, buy this game. You will not regret it.

First of if you're a fan of third person sci-fi action games then you should for sure pick Vanquish up you won't be disappointed, if you're new to the genre than this would be an excellent start too. The story is your typical good versus evil, mine's bigger than yours scenario so nothing major there. However the action is fast paced, the graphics are top notch and the controls are very intuitive and easy to pick up right from the start. As I said prior you don't play this game for the story you play it for the guns blazing, butt kicking nonstop action, which this game is packed with. However be warned, if you're looking for a deep plot or even a hide and snipe good time this may not be for you. Personally I have not been disappointed by the last few games Platinum Games released (MadWorld, Bayonetta), I do believe they are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the gaming world.

A lot of people have been bashing this game saying it is a Gears of War clone. To set things straight, it was Shinji Mikami, director of Vanquish and Resident Evil 4, established third person shooter genre. While Gears of War are great games, but Vanquish is a different type of game in league of its own. After finishing the story on HARD difficulty and attempting couple of challenge rooms (you unlock by finishing campaign chapters), here is what I thought.

****************PROS*****************

REVOLUTIONARY ACTION-PACKED GAMEPLAY: While majority of people will confuse this game with Gears clone, this game promotes you to do exactly the opposite of what is required in Gears. Gears of War promotes and rewards you cover and shoot type of gameplay. Now if you try really hard, you can probably get through this game using cover and shoot strategy, but chances are by staying in cover long enough, you will probably gate killed by either melee attacks of agile enemies, by mega lazer that bosses fire or simply by homing missiles. To get an edge over the enemies in this game, you have to be daring. You have to do crazy actions such as use your boosters, kick them on the face while jumping in the air, while in air slow down time and shoot the enemies around you. COOL, RIGHT? Honestly, the gameplay, rocket boosters, crazy melees, freeze time and shoot are BEST PART OF THIS GAME.

UPGRADE REWARD SYSTEM: Just like fasted pace gameplay, this is also something new and unique in this game. All of the weapons you get are upgradable. But to upgrade them you have to be strategic. There are two ways you will find upgrades for the weapons. One is simply by destroying enemies (or rather destroying multiple enemies in stylish manner). Other is by not using that weapon and them picking up one more of that weapon from destroyed enemies or from crate supplies which are found like every 7-10 minutes. This prevents you from overusing one weapon and exploring different weapons found in the game. Also, reckless shooting or staying in cover for too long will get you killed. If you get killed enough times (by playing recklessly), your weapons will be downgraded.

JOYS OF EXPERIMENTATION: So on one hand you have your abilities and on other hand you have at least 8 different types of weapons (maximally 4 at a time). The gameplay truly encourages you to experiment with them. I.e. use assult rifle and take out legs of big robot while you are in cover, jump out of the cover and slow down time, quickly take out the hands of the robot, boost your thrusters get close to the robot and finally melee its head off. LOVE IT JUST FREAKING LOVE IT.

YOUR SUIT, WEAPONS, ENVIRONMENTS AND ART: To me this is the coolest thing in this game. Your suit and weapons are created from "nucleus". So you will see each time the character relaxes, the helmet will be half gone and when you change weapons, one weapon will turn into another. Words simply can't describe it. Furthermore, depiction of near robotic future of America and designs of Marines and their commander Burns (with all the armor and heavy guns) is also pretty technical and to the details. I like it a lot.

GREAT ENEMY A.I.: I loved the A.I. in this game. YOU CAN'T HIDE. The enemies and bosses will come and get you. Even the weakest enemies have deadliest melee attacks. While I played it on hard mode, even on normal mode, enemies can kill you with ONE HIT KILL. Don't worry though. This is no Demons Soul. There are frequent checkpoints in the game. And the opposite is also true. You can kill many of the enemies with one hit kill assuming you do things the right way. Even the bosses you may find difficult at first have weaknesses. You just have to experiment enough and find out how. Love how this game push you to try new things.

CHALLENGING BOSSES: There 6-8 different types of bosses (not including few main bosses) in the game that you may encounter more than one time. Some of these bosses are very unique. While you can shoot them over and over again and kill them, it will take long and chances are some of these bosses will kill you with one hit kill. To beat these bosses you will truly have to master your skills (dodging, thrusting, slowing time etc.) Again love how this game pushes you to experiment and be tactical.

DECENT STORY: While it is not one of the best, the story still makes sense and has certain degree of suspense and mystery to it. English voice acting, dialogues and character facial expressions are pretty good. I won't spoil the story, but if you follow politics (more importantly IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN), you will enjoy the depiction of Hilary Clinton look a like depiction of US president.

CHALLENGE ROOMS: After finishing each chapter of the game, you will unlock Challenge rooms (equivalent to Horde Mode in other games). As stated above, you have lots of abilities and weapons and campaign is rather fast. So challenge rooms are one place you can experiment as much as you want with your weapons and abilities, create new moves and punish enemies. Now don't get me wrong that is not the only purpose of Challenge rooms. As their name states, it will be a true "challenge" to finish these challenge room levels as you will have one after another hordes of enemies attacking you from all the direction. These challenge room truly adds to the replayability of the game.

VARIETY IN MELEE: Equipping different weapons will have your character do different melee attacks. All of them are unique and look pretty cool looking. Some of them are quite devastating. However, there is also downside to the melees. See Cons. section.

***************CONS.******************

RELATIVELY SHORT CAMPAIGN AND NO MULTIPLAYER: I know these days most games are 8-10hrs long, but I wish the campaign was longer. While multiplayer and co-op is not a requirement for this type of games, I truly wish it had it. It feels like one of the games that is designed for co-op. Never the less, it has challenge rooms, so it does add longetivity of the game. Plus, if you get hold of the action, I know you will play it more than once.

UNIQUE MELEE: Melee attacks in this game are SUPER AWESOME. Only drawback is they are quite tactical. Using them will deal great damage to enemies, but also leave you vulnerable to enemy attack if you don't kill them off with melee or melee weapon combo. I truly wish you don't have to be so tactical when using melee and could use it as much as you want.

*********CONCLUSION******************

This is a very unique game and certainly not a clone of Gears of War (which is also a great game). If you like crazy fast-paced action mixed with futuristic weapons this is a game for you. Any body who is a fan of action adventure and shooter games such as Resident Evil 4, Gears of War and even Devil May Cry should definitely this a try. THIS GAME IS UNLIKE ANYTHING OTHER YOU HAVE PLAYED. Trust me on that.

Want Vanquish Discount?

This review is on the Single Player Campaign. VANQUISH is a game that wasn't talk about a lot, but should have been. I consider VANQUISH to be an instant classic hit. This game is so much fun to play. This game takes a little bit from the movies Star Wars, Aliens, War of the Worlds, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and Predator and mixes them all together to make one great game. This game is directed by Shinji Mikami, who in the gaming world is considered a gaming god and a genius for making great games. I think the AI in this game is very, very good.

Anybody who has played the VANQUISH demo will tell you that that the demo is very fun to play. There is a lot of action going on all the time. But the demo is just a small part of this game. The demo just covers the very first part of this game. You think the demo was great. Wait until you play the rest of the game.

I will give you some good examples of what to expect. You play the role of someone named Sam who wears a special armor suit who fights along side with other armed soldiers against a Russian Nationalist who has taken over a space station high up in space above earth. The Russian leader sends robotic like creatures to fight against you. I noticed right away the space station you are fighting in is huge. I thought the armored space ship I was in to approach the space station was huge until I saw how small it was compared to the actual size of the space station. You'll notice how big the space station really is when the heavily armed space ship you're in crashed lands on the space station. I think the graphics in this game are pretty good. The colors in this game are real vibrant and bright.

Anyway, on game play, I was fighting along with some other American soldiers in a fire fight with some robots and I caught some robots out in the open. Well another robot came along and actually formed what looked like a cement wall in front of the other robots so they could hide behind it. I thought that was so cool. In another area, I notice spider like robots that when you blew them up they actually turn into groups of smaller spider like robots. I thought that was cool too. I noticed the robots you fight against will constantly try to outflank you and try to get behind you. That is where your armor suit you are wearing comes into play. You have this special armor suit on that has booster rockets attached to it so you constantly slide really fast across the ground to your target. Well you can slide real fast to any targets that are trying to outflank you and take them out before they know what hits them. I like how you have all kind of different weapons to use throughout the game and you are constantly upgrading your weapons all the time. The sound effects in the game are really good.

If you are looking for really good shooting game that is fast paced, then I recommend trying out this game. This game seems to have a lot of replay value. This is one of my favorite games to play right now. I hope they make an expansion pack or a sequel to this game. Give this game a try. I don't think you will regret it.

But this game sucks.

I'm a diehard transformer fan and a PS3 fan as well, but i would hate to lie and say this game was anywhere close to good because it's so close to being the most awful and annoying game on the PS3-EVER!!

The missions are boring, simple and not planned very well. (This game was definately rushed, because it had alot of potential.

I thought i was the only one having sound problems, but after reading other peoples reviews it seems like i'm not alone.

The controls suck! especially when you're driving. Talk about understeer and then a sudden oversteer makes the mission absolutely annoying. I dont expect it to be a grand turismo, but the programmers making this game were very confused on wether they wanted the driving to feel simulated or arcade-like...

Trying to drive, and trying to lock onto the enemy is frustrating as hell.

Transforming is cool, but it gets old when everything is so damn frustrating.

A.I is horrible. Talk about dumb enemy robots!

Activision, from my point of view, makes decent games. Not great games but decent. But this one is a total failure in my book.

I'm glad i rented it, and i'm hoping you do too before buying it!

This is a fun game. It's not very complicated, but there' enough for Transformers fans to keep you entertained for a while. As a comparison, this game is very similar to Simpson's Hit & Run. There are plenty of side missions and things to do that provide a good change of pace.

The game does come up a bit short in a few areas. The camera never seems to be pointing where it needs to be. The Bonus material is weak (especially the photo gallery). The instruction manual is bad and a lot of things are left up to you to figure out.

Here's are the positives:

controls relatively easy to learn

your weapons and health automatically recharge over time

you can REALLY and TRULY destroy just about anything in the game (my favorite so far: wiping out Decepticons by swinging a ginormous swordfish!)

think of this game as a really good Mech game (compared to what else is out there), with strong similarities to Grand Theft Auto III's go-anywhere-and-blast-anyone gameplay, including the driving-around-the-city part. My advice is to screw off on doing the missions (going where they tell you), and instead just drive / fly around crashing into cars and buses and launching missles at the helicopters, etc. GREAT button-mashing fun (a la what I would always do late at night on GTA).

Here are the negatives:

no multi-player

limited number of Transformers (I want old ones!!)

the graphics are decent, but not as shiny-beautiful as other games (like Heavenly Sword, etc.). Still, they are not bad...

some people have said that the game is relatively short... well, I guess that depends on whether you play games for 8 hours a day, or more like 1 hour a day. I think it's a fine length, and I hope for a sequel with the OLD Transformer vehicles!!

some people have complained that when using HDMI, they aren't getting any audio. My advice: buy a digital audio cable and run it through your receiver. Hopefully this will help. (works fine with my Dolby Digital).

Overall, at the very least, give this a rental, and just spend half-an-hour driving around blasting things before you just this game. You will see that fun factor.

The bag isn't very sturdy and it doesnt have much padding. I didnt want to take a chance traveling with my PS3 in this cheaply made bag. I had a feeling that the price for this bag was too good to be true. The PS3 Backpack isnt much of an alternative either because it is overpriced and it doesnt offer much better quality. I returned the bag to Amazon for a refund. I finally bought a nice sturdy military style messenger laptop bag to transport my PS3 with sturdy handles and a strong shoulder strap. This worked out perfectly for my trip. It was nice to not have to worry about whether the handles or strap would tear off or break.

I bought this controller for Killzone 2 and liked it well enough. Coming from the ergo-awesome 360 controller, I needed something a little less wrist twisting than the DS3. For the 10 or so hours I used the controller, it seemed quite nice. However, something happened.

For whatever reason, my controller started vibrating without any input. I tried to reset the controller, but it continued to vibrate. I even let the batter completely wear down for a good week and still, when I charged it back up, it started vibrating again.

Normally, I wouldn't worry about it since this type of issue should be covered under a warranty. However, as soon as I contacted customer service at DreamGear, I was played like a fiddle.

Not only do they not stand behind their products, but the inner-most workings of this thing must be quite sub-par for it to just start vibrating for no reason and THEN not be able to remedy it.

In summary, the controller design is nice. However, whats the point of a controller if it doesn't work and if the manufacturer doesn't support their products. DreamGear has failed in my eyes and I hope no one else makes the mistake of buying their less-than-worthless products.

Other reviews here are accurate. The performance of the analog sticks just don't cut it. They go from low to high way to quick with barely any room for a "medium". Bought this guy mostly because the PS3 controller was killing my thumbs along with my 5 year old having issues reaching the sticks comfortably. Thought the Shadow was the answer because the 360 controller is by far superior in ergonomics (got a PS3 for Bluray). I did a side by side comparison with the Shadow and SixAxis controller and came away with a new appreciation for the Sixaxis. Control with the Shadow is clunky and inaccurate at best resulting in some frustrating game play. Why somebody can't make a good 360 style controller for the PS3 is beyond me. The company that does sure will make a killing. The Shadow will be returned to Best Buy.

The Good:

This controller feels great in my hands. I like how the left analog stick and the d-pad locations are swapped. Biggest selling point for me as I prefer it for most of the games I play. I've got nothing against the Dualshock 3(great for SF4).

The quality of this controller is top notch. The rubber exterior feels good.

The sticks and buttons feel great. The sticks have a good resistance to them. Not too loose and not too hard.

Built in rechargeable battery is very nice. Recharges like the DS3. Battery lasts for dozens of hours(haven't timed it yet).

Good wireless connectivity. Can sit up to about 25-30 ft away.

The Not-so-good:

The "enhanced" triggers on this controllers aren't really enhanced. Sure they curve out instead in curving in but the travel distance is half of the DS3. On some games, you have to press them all the way down to register the press.

There is no Sixaxis controls so you'll have to switch controllers for games that utilize Sixaxis controls.

I wish it was Bluetooth. Can't start up the PS3 by pressing the "Home" button.

Clicking down on the sticks is louder than most controllers(Just me being nitpicky).

The USB receiver is a bit too big for my liking. Again, me nitpicking.

D-pad isn't that great. Not as good as the DS3 but better than the 360 d-pad.

I wish the tops of the analog stick were concave(360) instead of convex(DS3).

Overall, a great alternative for those who prefer the 360 layout to the DS3. Highly recommended.

the feel of the controller is good but when playin calll of duty 4, no matter what sensitivity you are playing on, this controller ruins it. If you move the stick slighty it will barely move and then it suddenly shoots into a super fast speed. So if you try to snipe or try to be very accurate, this controller will not work.

I realy liked this controller better than the dualshock3.It is a lot more comfortable. And the trigers are better because your fingers don't side off.1 problem is you can't turn the ps3 on.Overall this is a quality controller.

EDIT

Ok, so I been using this controller for 6 months. And for 3 months it worked fine, but then the triangle button went out and now the circle button is dead too.

So I changed my original 5 star rating to a 2 star.

If you're like most people, you may want to move your PS3 from the bedroom to the living room, or office. I never liked moving all the cables so I bought this. Very simple and long enough for any situation.

I have had my PS3 for a few years and it always worked fine. I recently moved so I had no idea where my cord was and I decided to purchase this one for temporary use. It worked for about 5 days and when I turned on my PS3 this morning I got a yellow error light. The fact that someone else has already said they had this problem sounds like no coincidence to me. So PISSED. Now I have to save up for a new one thanks to this terrible buy.

I read others' reviews before purchasing this product. I was afraid this power cord won't be compatible with my PS3 (or even explode the device). However, all my worries are pointless now. This power cord works perfectly with my PS3. Good product!

Want Fosmon Universal Power Cord for Sony Playstation 3 PS3 - 6FT Discount?

So I purchased an original Playstation 3 60gb off of Ebay used and it came with just the console so I needed to get the cables. Used a computer cable I had until this one came and it worked just fine, this one came (several days later than they said it would) and with just assuming it would work fine plugged it in. I had used the PS3 for close to 4 days now pretty heavily with no problems, but I started it up the night I got the cord and I got a YLOD (yellow light of death) for the machine. After doing some research I had reason to believe it was just a bad Ebay buy, but after closer inspection of the cable its rated for 10A and 250V...On the PS3 system (at least my version) it states that it needs 3.2A 120V...So I'm now thinking this cord might have overheated the system and caused the YLOD...But not sure either way yet. Just wanted to put it out there. I guess thats what I get for getting a cheaper cord.

Buzz! Quiz TV was my introduction to Buzz Quiz. I fully enjoyed that game and found it to be perfect for parties, family events or having fun when I feel like playing a game that uses my knowledge against opponents rather than my virtual bullets. This year, Buzz! Quiz World has come along and instantly taken the place of Quiz TV.

Buzz! Quiz World

9/10

The Good:

+ Slick new presentation with improved visuals all around.

+ Player Profiles allows individual stat keeping.

+ Much improved online gameplay over Quiz TV.

+ Cimpatibe with Quiz TV Quiz Pack DLC.

+ The categories are improved and many new game types.

+ Customizeable game types allows you to pick your rounds.

+ Buzz is less repetitive in his remarks, yet every bit as cheeky.

The Bad:

Characters from Quiz Tv seem to be absent.

Still no custom character editor.

Only features English, no Spanish or French language options.

Buzz! Quiz world does what few games can do Please all ages and types of gamers and non gamers at once. I have played an 8-player game with children, teens, twenty-somethings like myself and older adults. Buzz! managed to pull everyone in so we were all crying foul as the current winner answered correctly. It is so perfect for anyone that likes socializing.

With Quiz world, many of my complaints with the Quiz TV have been addressed. For starters, you can now customize what rounds you play. Don't like the pie round? Now you can turn it off to make a custom game suitable to the group playing. Many people I play with complain about the Final Countdown round (which now plays the titular song by Europe) and you can even cut that out. Quiz World also features several new rounds such as Boilng Point, which gives the points to the first player to answer six correct questions.

Buzz now personally addresses player by asking you to pick from a list of names. It goes a long way and makes it feel more like you really are in the game and Buzz is more than just a virtual muppet. Also, this allows tracking of individual profiles, and Buzz remembers your tendencies. For example Buzz said to Kevin, one player who is frequently winning but had fallen into 4th, "Kevin, good to see you back at the top where you belong" after he had regained the lead in one round.

It's many of these small little details that really adds to the longevity and overall fun a game offers. At the end of every game, Accolades are given. It reports who was the fastest buzzer, who had the most right answers (which doesn't always equate to a win), who had the least and who got to pick the most categories just to name a few.

An 8 player game of Buzz! Quiz is a great experience, but Quiz TV had made it lite on rounds and features. Thankfully, Quiz World now allows full games for 8 players too, whereas Quiz TV only had 3 round 8 player games. This may not sound important, but it really does make the game more interesting to have it more than 3 round if you 'd like. Now you won't have 7 other people surprised the game is over already.

Another area where Quiz World shine is the online mode. You can now play with 1-4 people on the same PS3! In Quiz TV 4 people could play, but would all control the same character. Quiz World gives everyone control over their own character and allows up to 8 players to play online on multiple PS3s, or 2 if you have 4 players on each one. Of course, it still features My Buzz quizzes so you can create and share your own custom trivia packs.

The only thing I would like to see Buzz! add is more characters to choose from, or even better the ability to use PSN Home avatars or create your own character to use. There needs to be more characters for practical reasons too. In the instance that you have 5 females players or more, some will have to choose a male character. It's a minor gripe, but something they could have easily remedied by at least including all the characters from Quiz Tv. Where are Cave Girl and Disco Man?

Overall, Quiz World is much improved and a worthwhile purchase for Quiz TV owners and those new to Buzz. You will most certainly be happy with. For those like me who had a Quiz Tv, this is a nice upgrade that will be thourughly enjoyed!

The buzzers, both wired or wireless, are required! I found out the hard way. The product description is confusing and lead me to believe they "might" work with wireless controllers. I assumed it was the PS3 wireless controllers but they are referring to the wireless buzzers. I didn't know this and now I do.

I have not played the game yet so don't know if it's fun or not.

This version picks up where the last leaves off. Its not perfect, but it is more difficult than the first. The questions aren't as straight forward which makes them more challenging. The end credits actually do serve a quite entertaining purpose.

I have played the older version of buzz with my friends many times. We find this newer version of buzz to be more fun, we didn't know about the new features where the host will say your name and that there would be new types of games. I recommend this to anyone who has tried the first buzz game or anyone who has heard of buzz. It's a blast!

I received the charger and decided to run a test to verify what the manufacturer told me (see original post below). I connected a DualShock controller to each of the 4 USB ports and noticed that their red lights started blinking, which means they are charging. No Move controllers were connected/docked during the test since they are still in the original packages waiting for Christmas. Some of the controllers were charged (the blinking red lights turned off) in about an hour and the most discharged controller (had not been used in months) took a little over 2 hours. I also charged my generic MP3 player but my iPhone 3GS does not detect the charger.

All this means that the manufacturer's customer support was wrong, (why am I surprised... ). This little charger can take care of not only both types of Move controllers but of ANY PS3 controller and possibly blue-tooth headsets and many other USB-based charging devices, with the exception of iPhones.

I upgraded the rating to 5*. By the way, the Move receptacles charge the controllers via metal pins, not USB mini B plugs. That is a good thing since the USB mini plugs tend to break easily and are more difficult to engage.

Just a cautionary note. I ordered this charger thinking that the USB ports would charge my 4 DualShock controllers. I tried to confirm that capability on the CTA Digital website and on Google to no avail. I emailed CTA Digital but they took more than a week to reply; a couple days after I ran out of patience and ordered the charger. In their email, CTA Digital said that the charger is not capable of charging the DualShock or SixAxis controllers via the USB ports, and referred me to another of their chargers.

I took out a star for misleading advertisement (I think it's malicious to make a charger for the PS3, which charges the regular controllers via the USB, and not mention that the USB ports in the charger CANNOT charge the regular controllers) and another star for the design (does not match the PS3 design lines/appeareance).

Apparently the reviewer before me made the same assumption I made (that the USB ports could charge the SixAxis and DualShock controllers) without testing that functionality. To be frank, I haven't tried either because the charger has not arrived yet. I'm just reporting what the manufacturer itself is claiming. If I find out that the USB ports can indeed charge the regular controllers I will update this review.

No complaints; works fine, but would have been better with an on/off switch, as you don't want to keep charging your controllers every time (better for maintaining the batteries).

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having a separate charging base for my Move controllers and additional USB ports to charge the Sixaxis controller (or any other USB charged device) is a huge plus for keeping everything ready for action and out of the way. My controllers are charged so the device works. I don't know what else to say! The price is reasonable and while it doesn't seem very "substantial", it doesn't get much wear and tear so it should be fine.

Some actors read the script from the movie. The visuals are cheap animations. There is nothing here from the actual movie but it does fallow the storyline in a loose way. The missions are short and boring. The 3D graphics are primitive at best. The wings of the planes are flat surfaces. My jet can't turn with the bad guy's jet and there aren't enough bad guys to make it fun. Your view of the surrounding sky is very narrow making it harder to get to the bad guys and have an overall perspective of the surrounding battle area. This means they were able to get away with creating much less real-time 3D fly-over scenery. The battle scenes are mostly over water so not much to model there right? The bogies are always introduced coming at you so you are forever hanging U-turns with a very slow turning plane. Now you turn on the afterburner trying to catch up and find the guy. Annoyingly the game installs a Top Gun folder on your main game menu permanently and it loads without a click from the user. It takes over your screen and starts playing Top Gun theme music so you have to delete the game to get rid of it or navigate around it. If you just want to fly a jet game OK, otherwise there is nothing top gun about Top Gun.

I was very skeptical about getting another Spiderman game until I took the time to learn more about Beenox's newest effort, which was 2 years in the making, so it's not a rush job.

That good news aside, this is without a doubt one of the best super hero games I've played. This game borrows heavily from Batman from Rocksteady, but to great effect. This has many moments where you feel like you're playing Spiderman with a Batman: Arkham City Template underneath. In an early mission, it even has a Correctional Prison Facility with crazy Asylum inmates. Rather than write a bunch of paragraphs to filter through, I'll save you some time reading and just mention some key highlights below:

-Positives:

-Controls are buttery smooth and responsive with plenty of freedom to swing, sprint up walls, evade, leap, freefall and more. Incredible job. No twitchy on foot as in Spiderman 2.

-The behind the shoulder camera view is excellent and for the first time in an open city Spiderman game, makes you feel like Spiderman, seeing things from a close but comfortable 3PV, increasing the intensity and the sense of "Being there", in the game compared to previous efforts where Spiderman was a tiny character onscreen. Think of the views from Batman Arkham City/Asylum.

-Fights are modeled directly after Rocksteady's Batman Games and are a blast because of it. Spidy is no push over with some amazing martial arts acrobatic fighting skills. Fast and action packed.

-The swinging skills are fast and fluid. Spidy's a pro from the start.

-Plenty of Batman-like upgrades for Spidy's skills to upgrade.

-Crackdown like leaping/jumping fun, collecting comics instead of orbs.

-Plenty of major villains with clever boss battles.

-Reasonable representation of NYC's Manhattan.

-interiors look good along with the main characters.

-Plenty of traffic, but needs Driver:SF dense pedestrians to feel like NYC streets.

-Manhattan is a very large playground with streets, parks, and plenty of skyscrapers to leap from and climb.

-3 difficulty levels. Casual, Medium, Hardcore. Decent options.

-Nice city sound FX for ambience.

-Very responsive and helpful look camera from all angles.

-Spiderman's trademark moves captured to near perfection with comic book style.

-Assassin's Creed like platforming/vaulting.

-Sight see easily on helicopters.

-Awesome sense of freefalling.

-Solid voice acting and interesting story.

-Plenty to see, do and explore with freedom and side missions.

-Home base is your apartment, and you can replay interiors.

-Great draw distance for the city as far as the eyes can see.

CONTROLS: Left analog move, right analog look, X is jump, square is punch/attack, triangle is interact with objects, circle is web shoot, Right shoulder is web target travel (very cool and intuitive), right bumper is web swinging, select is map/upgrades, start is pause menu.

-Negatives:

-Here's a big one for Spiderman Geeks who must have everything absolutely realistic and within reason: Remember in Spiderman 2, how you can earn the ability to sling a web ahead of you into the air, and then pull jump forward to it quickly? Just pretend you had the same skill here, to explain the fact that Spidy can fling webs into the air and swing from them, provided you're within distance of a building. Just pretend he's flicking up a web parachute and it's more believable. Once I got over this misrepresentation of believability, the swinging became a blast. I still say they should have Spidy hit the buildings and not the air above to swing on.

-Arkham City rules in terms of graphical power. This game is larger, but the city graphics, although with some nice, gritty details, garbage cans, litter and so on, could've been better. Think Driver: San Francisco city graphics for an idea. Decent at best. Interiors look the best. Characters look good, Spidy mostly.

-No day night cycle. Missions determine when daytime changes.

To say this is a drastic improvement over Spiderman 2 and 3 would be an understatement, as groundbreaking as Spiderman 2 on the PS2/XBox was.

If you ever wanted to feel like Spiderman exploring an open city at will, this is the closest you're going to get on current systems until the next game. Highly recommended and surprisingly a great licensed Movie Tie In game that feels like it's own game because it is. BUY IT if you want a great Spiderman Game, despite any ill will you might have towards Activision.

Story Mode The best story in a Spider-Man game. It flows and actually makes sense. Spider-Man suit even messes up as you take damage. You will fight robots, infected people, cross-species, and thugs. The story is about the different cross-species getting lose and Spider-Man has to stop it after he kinda caused the problem to begin with. Spider-Man has to save the people of New York, find a cure for the infected and save Gwen, his love. Spider-Man can do what he can with the help of Dr. Connors who was also the lizard. The story for this takes place after the movie, which releases July 3rd in the United States. Overall, the story is fantastic and Spider-Man fans won't be disapointed. 100/100(A+)

Graphics Not spectacular. The framerate is fine. The environments look good. Spider-Man looks real. Some character details look bad, but not to the point where you can't stand it. At least they don't look cartoonish. 90/100(A-)

Gameplay The game plays well. It's an open world game. The combat is better than ever and the web swinging and camera makes me feel like I'm Spider-Man. You get to use special moves and upgrade Spider-Man. Web crawling is good. Throughout the city you'll see petty crimes going on that where you can choose to take action. There's this feature called Web Rush, where you can just swing fast to different areas by pressing the R1 button or holding it to slow down time and do attacks. There's also web retreat so you can get out the way when you're in trouble by pressing the L1 button. You can also take photos by pressing L2. You'll feel a lot of vibration through your controller in this game. You'll encounter a lot of action. You also get to play as Stan Lee with the Stan Lee Adventure Pack. 100/100(A+)

Multiplayer No multiplayer.

Playing Time/Content: This game should take you at least 20 hours to get 100 percent. Probably 30 hours. It's definitely worth $60. There's enough content in this single-player open world game to keep you satisfied. 100/100(A+)

Overall score: 97.5(A+)

+ Lengthy story

+ Side missions

+ Different costumes

+ Combat systems

Disclaimer: I am a spiderman fan, fav. spidey games were Spiderman 2 and web of shadows and overall, Beenox has disappointed me with their spidey games. That being said, i must say, i am enjoying this game. I've been playing it for a week and am now ready to review it;

There have been a lot of reviews that are extremely good and those that are extremely bad; I feel that this game is above average. This is no skyrim or arkham asylum. However, as a spidey fan, im finding many enjoyable elements of the game.

Pros:

--Controls

*Web swinging is amazing! As you swing, the environment has a

cool, motion blur effect that adds an organic feel to the swinging.

*Climbing/perch As you're web climbing, you can press your back against

the climbing surface, which is useful for taking pics, stealth take downs, etc.

*Web-Rush Stylized version of "zip-lining" (for those who are familiar with

the previous games.) Difference is: you have the option of choosing where u

would like to zip-line as time freezes, then slowly begins to move again.

--Production value (Style)

*Story -Takes place after the events that occured in the movie. Story is well done (by comic book

standards) again, I wouldnt compare it to the story in games like Metal Gear,

but that doesnt mean its a horrible story. Spider-man faces many ethical

challenges (within the script) that makes the story very interesting. There are some parts where i

expected the story (or scene) to be predictable, then something unexpected

would happen. Theres even an official OSCORP commercial with footage of real people that slowly transitions to computer animation.

--Story reminds me a lot of the spider-slayer episodes in the 90's cartoon.

If you enjoyed that story arch, you'll enjoy this story.

--Secret costumes There are different website that will tell you how to unlock most of the costumes. The suits are the best i've seen in the spiderman series.

*Camera Angles -In addition to the blur effect of the environment while

swinging, the "camera" placement is very tasteful. When you're high up, the

city looks beautiful. There are also a bunch of times where you'll see over the

shoulder camera shots (ala arkham city/asylum). Really makes you feel like

you're seeing everything thru spideys perspective.

--There are brief POV/FPS moments when web-rushing that also looks cool.

Very reminiscant of the metroid prime series.

*Combat system/boss battles/level design -For the sake of describing the production value, i put all of these in the same category. The free roaming aspect of spiderman 3 and web of shadows was a little under-whelming. I like it a lot better here. People have commented on the lack of population. In the story, a majority of the population is sick, and there are HUGE boss battles that take place in the city; it would make sense for the streets not to be heavily populated. Speaking of which....the boss battles...are epic! I was NOT expecting boss battles like this! I honestly felt like it was gonna be the usually, button mashing, pattern-fighting mechanic BS that the other games have suffered from. Fighting spiderslayers in the streets of manhattan is SO much fun. It feels slightly similar to certain God of War boss battles. The standard combat is very stylized. When ur fighting a group of villains, and build up the combo meter and correctly use your spidersense to dodge and counter certain attacks, its visually pleasing.

--CONS!(thnx for reading this far! :-)

*Inconsistancy!!!!

--Difficulty Game is way too easy. I had to up the difficulty to the highest setting. Sometimes its still too easy, other times its way too hard. [To give u a sense of my gaming capability, i play most games in normal. I've played devil may cry and arkham asylum in hard; and Ninja Gaiden in easy. (could never play it on normal -_-)]

--Combat even though the combat is very stylish, its no web of shadows. Before you up the combo meter, its very sluggish. Think of street fighter and constantly button mashing on the Hard Punch button.

--Mechanics Sometimes you can swing with no buildings around, sometimes you cant. For instance, I can be on top of the highest building and zip-line (or web rush) towards the air!? Vs. jumping off a building, pressing the web swing button and nothing happens until im closer to the ground. Might be for aesthetic purposes (motion blur effect of cars and static objects in the environment passing by you as u swing)

-spider-sense the spider-sense in Web of shadows and Spiderman 2 while not perfect, were in the right direction. This game took a few steps back from it. In the past games, you can use the spider-sense to scan for bad guys, dodge projectiles and look for items. All of that is gone here. U can only use it to dodge PHYSICAL attacks and as a WARNING for PROJECTILE attacks. You cannot dodge the projectiles. Also, there are certain times during boss battles where the spider-sense wont even activate??

-Lack of Control The controls for moving spiderman are for the most part fluid; however, there are certain moments where u just loose control. For instance, with arkham city, when going through the vents, you grapple the vent gate, then the controller vibrates. Then u must mash on the button to pull off the gate, while the controller vibrates harder. Here, its similar, but way too automatic. U just press a button, and he quickly shoots his web to the vent gate (or vent screen), zip lines to the gate, pulls it off and enters. ALL that happens after the push of one button. That automatic feeling is very random and also happens with the combat and swinging. ALSO, you have to press the buttons ALL THE WAY DOWN in order for it to register. And its not my controller, this happens with both controllers AND the PS move controllers i have. (Has anyone else experienced this?)

-Dialogue The acting is great, the story is great, the dialogue however, can get annoying. I wont get into it, it just sounds like bad, melodramatic TV at times.

Condensed ReviewThis game does feel like the developers started the production of this game while thinking "hey, lets make a spiderman game thats like arkham asylum" I dont think beenox are the best people to make a spiderman game. While the game has its flaws, its still a beautiful game thats loads of fun. I like having the option of continuing the story arch whenever I want or taking a break from the story (if im tired from work) and i might want to swing around, and do quick side missions (taking pics is fun in this game)

Furthermore Everyone has different tastes. I know people who have hated blockbuster titles like grand theft auto, call of duty and metal gear series. However, i do feel that the popular titles appeal to a much broader audience. This is not one of those games. Even though this game is for a specific crowd, it has enough charm to please most. Its a great game in general, (the best since spiderman 2). So if playing dress-up as spiderman, swinging around a well developed city and having epic boss battles sounds like a good time to you, then this is worth buying.

Thnx for reading

Read Best Reviews of Amazing Spider-Man Here

Ever since I was a little boy, Batman and Spider-man have always been my favorite super heroes and part of what came with that favoritism was playing the games based on said heroes. But as I grew older and my `tastes' improved, I realized that the majority of licensed games were mediocre at best, and downright poorly made trash at worst .

Well, that all changed for Batman back in 2009 when `Batman: Arkham Asylum' (Developed by Rocksteady studios), was released. Both it and its sequel,Arkham City(2011) are considered not only some of the best licensed games ever made, but two of the best games ever made that truly do justice to the dark knights legacy.

Well, unfortunately for Spider-man, the web slinger hasn't had such luck with his entries in the world of video games. But Benox studios attempts to change that with, `The Amazing Spider-man' (This being the third game the studio has developed for the Spider-man franchise; both of their previous installments received lukewarm reception.) But after playing the game to completion, my findings are far from amazing. (See what I did there?)

It should be noted that the game takes place about 6 months after the movie it is based upon. The premise is very simple and the basics are that the cross-species virus that infected Doctor Connors in the film is still being studied in secret and when a freak accident occurs, it is spread across the city. And the new head of Oscorp science division, Alistair Smythe, believes that the only way to cure the infection is to exterminate it by using his advanced nanobots/ robotics defense technology. (I.E. Give Spider-man an excuse to beat up lizard people and robots)

And the combat system with which you will provide said beat down is incredibly similar to `Arkham's' system in that it operates on a counter and strike system. When an incoming hit is about to strike Spider-man, a small indicator appears over Spider-man's head and you are given a window of time to dodge out of the way and return the favor. And just like in the Arkham games a little combo meter builds up as you deliver punishment which allows the player to unleash flashier moves to help finish the job. But Beenox's take on the combat that Rocksteady made perfect, is relatively sloppy. For one the indicator above Spider-man's is incredibly small and often hard to see when things get chaotic. It also doesn't help that the games camera focuses far too much on spider-man during combat and not enough on the whole environment. (The frustration on what you can and can't see increases when Spider-man takes too much of a licking, and the screen goes a hazy red.) This lead to me getting sucker punched by enemies I couldn't see or couldn't react to until it was too late. The small indicator, coupled with the bad camera, gives even the lowest of thugs the chance to make Spider-man look like a total chump.

Other than the combat, there is another mechanic in place that allows Spider-man to explore the closed levels or the open-world Manhattan with more ease other than his normal web swinging, know as the `Web Rush'. This ability allows the player to slowdown time and command Spider-man to go to a highlighted destination. When this works, it works well and looks impressive from a cinematic perspective since Spider-man leaps and bounces off of walls and buildings with the agility you would expect from the hero. But even in this aspect I ran into some hiccups. Like I said, when this works, it works great. But there are moments when it causes great frustration. Sometimes the ability is very finicky and will often either stop short of where you told Spider-Man to go and he will (On the very rare occasions that I saw. ) be stuck floating hilariously in mid-air, or end up in a different spot altogether. As you can imagine this is incredibly bothersome. Especially if you have to get to a specific area within a certain amount of time, or retrieve a certain item in a specific spot.

As you complete combat scenario's, explore the world, and finish certain story objectives, this net's the wall crawler experience points which can be used to purchase upgrades to improve his attack strength, resistance to gunfire, rate at which he fires his webs, etc. But besides the ones I just mentioned and a few others, I found that either certain upgrades they gave me were given to me too late in the game to be useful, or just weren't useful to begin with. This may just be my tastes coming into play but the game never gave me a reason to try another tactic or a new ability out when the best and easiest option was just to rush in and beat people up the same way I was during the games opening moments, all the way to its climax.

This brings me to the game's final and worst fault: Its repetitive nature. When you boil the game down it has three main pillars to the way it's structured: Go to a certain area, defeat the enemies that spawn there, and bring down some sort of technological obstacle through a button prompt. Rinse and repeat. Even its side-missions are many of the exact same sidemissions I have done in almost every single Spider-man in the past (Stop a mugging, disable a car chase by covering the suspects windshield in web fluid, and get an injured civilian to a hospital by web swinging them there.) What made the Rocksteady Batman games great is that they utilized the full facet of the hero's personality and abilities. Batman is a warrior who knows 127 different self-defense styles, a master detective, and a stealthy predator who strikes fear into the hearts of his foes. They mixed all three together into a near flawless experience and made sure to pace the game in a proper way to make sure the player was never sick of what they were doing. By the time they were finished doing one thing, they were off to do something different. Here it's just, "Like to beat people up using a combat system that isn't as good as the game that it's originally from? No? Well get ready to do it anyway." Now, I'm not a huge comic book guy but I'm pretty sure there are other things you can draw from in order to define Spider-man other than to beat people up.

I feel like I'm beating the game down a little too much but there isn't anything super noteworthy. I admit there are a couple cool set piece moments, exploring the city by web swinging is pretty cool, and Spider-man does have some cool animations (He's the height of the games visuals. The environments textures are a little `muddy' and the other character models are the epitome of the `video game person stereotype' from weird, twitchy, and robotic animations to zombie like, empty eyes) Heck, I'll admit I even had fun for the first couple of hours. But when you do the SAME things for 7 and half hours straight, it just stops being fun....

As a longtime fan of all video games Spider-Man, I was eager to play this title right away. The previous movie-based installments in the franchise like Spider-Man 2 and 3 were pretty well done, and I enjoyed the new movie this game is based on. I was especially excited to hear that free-roaming around the city was back as it was missing from other recent Spidey titles.

The story caught my interest right away. I particularly liked how, instead of a loose interpretation of the film, it was a direct sequel, taking place right after the movie's end. I couldn't wait to extend the storyline and see what happened next. That being said, the story itself in this game was never really immersive, suspenseful or climactic. There is zero character development, and hardly any story beyond, "Oscorp hybrids have escaped and Spidey recaptures a few."

While the voice acting itself wasn't bad, I was still disappointed not to hear Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone reprise their roles. This is only a small hang-up that didn't make or break the game or anything. They were noticeably missed, though, especially since Tobey Maguire voiced Spidey in previous games.

The action takes a few notes from the Arkham games with a very similar combat style and emphasis on stealth. I found it to be more forgiving with not breaking your combo chain in between strikes, and I could get 40-50 hit combos without much problem. It was fun for a little while but didn't add much challenge, especially since you can "webretreat" at any time to safely sling to the ceiling out of harm's way. I found it more entertaining to stealth-KO all enemies as the fights themselves became tedious.

The selection of enemies for you to fight was pretty weak. I would have liked to see more villains than the very few they had as the boss fights were generally uninteresting. Of course, I do understand that it is probably because it is a sequel to the film and they are saving the better bad guys for the movies first. Still, for a Spider-Man game, their absence was felt.

Side missions were sprinkled all over the map, however they were mostly repetitive and redundant. There were blimp races, muggings in progress and getaway cars to stop. Unfortunately, they were incredibly easy and literally the exact same mission each time. There were also "infected" humans you can pick up and take to quarantine areas, but this was even more repetitious than the other side quests. Being the perfectionist I am, though, I still did them all. I did really enjoy the bank robbery side mission, though, but it was the only kind of it's type.

I guess that brings me to my favorite part about the game which is the web-slinging. There is something so incredibly fun about pretending to be Spider-Man and just flinging your away across Manhattan. You can find comic book pages on rooftops to unlock real Spidey comics you can read in-game (admittedly a very cool feature). Sometimes you can have difficult times with your landings, but this can be aided with the ability to momentarily stop time and choose your exact destination. This mechanic did help a lot with navigation, but sometimes it got a little annoying to have to break up your fast-paced gameplay to do it.

All in all, it did keep my interest until the end, but I am also a big fan of the Amazing one. Spidey aside, this game plays a lot like a budget title with some fun elements, but a lack of polishing which was probably due to a rushed release date to coincide with the movie. I would not recommend paying $60 for this game, but rather give it a rental, or at least wait for it to drop in price.
