Some actors read the script from the movie. The visuals are cheap animations. There is nothing here from the actual movie but it does fallow the storyline in a loose way. The missions are short and boring. The 3D graphics are primitive at best. The wings of the planes are flat surfaces. My jet can't turn with the bad guy's jet and there aren't enough bad guys to make it fun. Your view of the surrounding sky is very narrow making it harder to get to the bad guys and have an overall perspective of the surrounding battle area. This means they were able to get away with creating much less real-time 3D fly-over scenery. The battle scenes are mostly over water so not much to model there right? The bogies are always introduced coming at you so you are forever hanging U-turns with a very slow turning plane. Now you turn on the afterburner trying to catch up and find the guy. Annoyingly the game installs a Top Gun folder on your main game menu permanently and it loads without a click from the user. It takes over your screen and starts playing Top Gun theme music so you have to delete the game to get rid of it or navigate around it. If you just want to fly a jet game OK, otherwise there is nothing top gun about Top Gun.

Loved the movie and love flight simulators. This is a great package, You get both the movie and the game. The digitally remastered version of the movie is crisp and clear. The game is a bit dated by today's standard but I don't mind at all

Will most of the Top Gun games were things like NES, MS DOS, and Windows 95. Until now the MS DOS and Windows 95 games were as cost as possible it an interactive version on the movie. I do remand this game. Since the movie and game is on the same disk I did try it in my sand alone 3D blu-ray player and it did play. Since my 3D blu-ray player is an Sony I can't say if it will work with non Sony players but sound work.
