Joysticks for fighting games are expensive. If there is the possibility for 2-player battles in your home, this controller makes a great "player 2" joystick that won't break the bank. I've never had any issue with the buttons as was mentioned by another reviewer. I have large hands and the proximity of the buttons has not affected my gameplay. Another great thing about this stick is that it is light and portable... throwing it in a box with your PS3 to take to Grandma's house for the weekend is no problem.

I got to admit that this arcade stick is pretty good in means of functionality. It responds well to when I press the button and move the joystick around. Its small size doesnt seem to be a factor to me since my hands are not too big nor to small, so i guess portability is somewhat of a plus. The 12-foot long usb cable makes it easier for when you're on the couch playing whatever fighting game ur kicking ass in.

Although with all these benficial features, one flaw happens to cancel all these features out making this controller not a wise decision to purchase. The buttons are not held up by springs, but what seems to be ruber cups that have a sort of springiness to them. Unlike metal springs, the rubber cups tend to fold upward instead of downward to provide a spring-like action to them, causing the buttons to jam if pressed hard enough.

Although the buttons eventually go protrude back up, it takes a long time for the rubber cups in the buttons to actually do so and the button jamming seems to be an incovenience to when you are playing videogames. When I normally play on a joystick on an arcade cabinet, I play sort of aggressively and tend to press on buttons hard, but not hard enough to actually consider it to be "slamming and mashing" the buttons. However, playing like I normally do with this joystick, the jamming of the buttons are just a hassle to deal with when I'm playing games such as blazblue, street fighter 4 or other games of the same genre.

If you yourself want to buy this particular joystick, then by all means, go ahead. But if you want to take my word for it, I strongly recoment not getting this.

This thing's VERY tiny (6.5" x 3.25")! Not even sure 18mm Sanwa buttons will fit. However, surprisingly the buttons feel rather responsive to the point I'm content w/them. It's the joystick lever I'm not happy w/due to a huge deadzone (it's similar to a Tekken 6 Hori wireless fighting stick)! Not sure what will fit in there since the joystick base plate's ~1.50" 1.75" in length/width & depth at about ~1.25". Only thing I suggest to remedy this is wrap electrical tape around the joystick lever actuator to make it wider so there's less of a deadzone.

Soldering to the PCB (if you wanna install a 3rd party joystick lever such as a Sanwa JLF) shouldn't be an issue from the looks of things. For some weird reason, the company's website says it doesn't work w/a PS3 slim unless you use a USB hub however I had no issues whatsoever (perhaps their website's outdated). The 12-ft USB cable helps out tremendously! Overall, even if I can't fit another joystick in there, I'm happy about the purchase (for my little cousins that come over & also it'll give me another joystick to use when I'm bored) although I'm hoping I can fit another joystick in there. Customer service's piss poor due to NEVER receiving an email response to my USB-hub question. I had to figure it out AFTER I received the product. It gets 4-star due to the huge deadzone & horrible manufacturer customer service. Then again you can't expect much from a joystick that retails for $30 & no, it doesn't compare to a $100+ joystick! That's like comparing apples to oranges! With most joysticks, the saying is true...You get what you pay for. BTW, you can easily find it for much less on eBay if you look...

This is fun enough, but not as good as I had hoped. We got it to do Pac man and other similar arcade games. I found that the joystick doesn't move smoothly. It doesn't have the flow of a normal joystick that freely moves in any direction and is able to shift from one to the other seamlessly. Instead it seems to have notches it will transition through. You can go any direction but not smoothly. I found that my character would get stuck even though I was moving the joystick around, it would have to be forced from one direction to the next. My kids say it would work well for a Mortal Kombat type of game. I wouldn't buy it again if I had tried it first. Disappointed because I was really looking forward to it. I did have fun using it for Galaga though.

Got here extremely fast. Was in perfect condition. Plays well with king of fighters and emulated roms suck as street fighter alpha 3 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
