I played with this stick when E3 09 rolled around L.A. The manufacture was having a SF4 tourney to show off the stick. I looked at it and thought it looked cheap and I was right. IF you go into this expecting it to feel like the TE madcatz stick, you are going to be disappointed. But if you can get past the look and somewhat cheap feel of stick and buttons you'll be treated to a stick that to me feels better then the SE madcatz SF4 stick (the smaller white stick). The joystick and buttons are fairly responsive, I made it to top 4 in the E3 tourney and stick felt good after every match. I am unsure if this stick can be modded with Sanwa parts like the SE madcatz stick, but for the price I would much rather have this stick standard than the SE madcatz standard. If your hard up for cash but need a good starter stick this stick can not be beat at the price.

This is a cheapo budget stick. It works, but it's not great. "High quality" is printed all over the box, and this makes me pretty angry. It comes at least the third the price of a legitimate high-quality stick made of Sanwa or Hori parts, and this company has the nerve to print "high quality" on their box when it obviously is not.

Regardless, the buttons are kind of stiff but they are otherwise responsive and work just fine. The stick is a little problematic. It's got an "octagonal gate" in it but when I opened it up to take a peek at it, the corners on it were so rounded out you might as well have called it circle gate. This makes diagonals really difficult to hit consistently, which is a huge barrier in a fighting game that requires precision inputs.

Speaking of opening it up, there's a giant cylindrical weight inside. High quality weights!

In any case, if you replace the terrible circle gate in it with a good old square gate (A sanwa fits just fine,) the stick works SIGNIFICANTLY better and makes this thing a very plausible option for a budget stick.

I bought this a few weeks ago. My friend and I are big into Super Street Fighter 4 right now and I bought this as a transition to joystick play instead of d-pad. I am please with this. Again I have never owned another joystick since the NES so I'm no professional, but my friend bought a MadCatz SF4 edition joystick. I think his joystick might have been slightly tighter than mine, and his was definately bulkier and heavier. But otherwise handled the same. A good buy at a great price, unless you really want to pay $120 or more for a joystick.

i purchase this stick on early march for about sixty bucks not forty like the website dreamgear advertises. but the stick actually is playable, if ur a first time user and looking for something on a budget go for this. i actually bought a sanwa restrictor gate and it fit, but the game gameplay was horrible so i had to take it out, i also bought a bartop and it fit, but my experience with gameplay still sucked so all the parts i bought were for nothing (there just spare parts for my Madatz stick). this stick does look like it can be moddified but the buttons look like a problem bcuz when i first opened the stick, the buttons were molded to a controller pcb, the only thing i saw u can actually modd was maybe the joystick (replacable), but the buttons looks like a pain. and yes the buttons are kinda stiff but i got use to it. but the design is pimp and im actually gotten good with this stick that ill proly use this just for kicks have u seen the fighter on the stick looks epic! :)

pros: it works, long cable 13ft i believe, compartment for the cable on bottom of the stick, very funny artwork, and its an arcade fighter.

cons: feels cheap, modding looks like a pain, stiff buttons, buttons are molded to a pcb.

u get what u paid for!

This is a budget stick, but it can go a long way. You will be paying a fraction of the price of the quality sticks.

I like to play competitive online and it was frustrating to keep missing those diagonal moves and tiger knee motions. However I followed another reviewer advice and purchased a Sanwa Octagonal gate from a well known auction site for under ten bucks. To replace it you just pop out the old one and pop in the new one (look it up on youtube, extremely easy) With this new gate I can get pro-like performance. I will agree with the other reviewer that the original octagonal gate was almost a circle, just replace it with a sanwa and the results are impressive. No need to shell out big bucks on the $150 sticks, just purchase this one and a $10 octagonal gate.
