THIS REVIEW COMES FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS NOT ONLY COMPLETED, BUT WON 1ST PLACE IN 30 RACES ON MOTORSTORM. So I guess you can say I've played it a lot.

I've read quite a few of the other reviews so far, and most of them are written by people who just got the game and haven't really played it through yet, I would imagine. I've played it at least a hundred times, and I've got a different view point. I'll try to keep it concise, and I'll discuss the game's shortcomings first.

#1: THE SAME TRACKS OVER AND OVER AGAIN...After 30+ races, the tracks go from repetitive to out-right boring. I'm sorry, but there are only 7 or 8 tracks to race on. The change? except for a few of the races, you are forced to use a different vehicle each time. The level 1 and 2 races are fun, but by the time you get to the level 3 races, your opponents spend the entire race pushing you off cliffs and into rock formations, and everyone's vehicles are faster than yours. I really enjoy 2 or 3 of the tracks, but the others aren't to my liking, and I find myself cursing at the game as it forces me to run those tracks repeatedly.

#2: BLAZE YOUR OWN TRAIL? Hardly. Other reviewers have said that you don't have to follow the track; that you can go your own way. Not true. Each track has a "high route" atop cliffs, plateaus and mesas (for rally cars and motorcycles) a "middle route" across bridges, ramps, rocks and gravel (for any vehicle but a big rig) and "the low road" through the dirt and mud underneath all the bridges and ramps (for the mudpluggers and big rigs). At certain junctures of the track, you can choose one of two or three of these routes. During most of the race, though, you are bound to the route you have chosen. It's your job to learn the tracks and remember where those junctions are so that you can take the route appropriate for your vehicle. Big rigs and mudpluggers are a disaster on the high routes, and motorcycles and rally cars are useless in the mud. Other than that, you are following specified routes and there is no "free roam" during a race. If you go too far away from the track, you get the dreaded "WRONG WAY" text flashing, and your vehicle comes to a dead stop and immediately gets redirected onto the proper route, which most likely puts you into last place.

#3: SIXAXIS MOTION CONTROL...I still haven't figured out how to use this to my advantage. I am sure it has something to do with where my console is located in my livingroom with regard to where I am sitting with the controller, but the motion control puts my vehicle right into a ditch or the side of a mountain every time, like a jet ski with a broken steering cable. I have it turned off, as the game is just too difficult. I cannot navigate at all with it turned on. This is the PS3's first game to really utilize the sixaxis motion, so I am sure that all of us will need some time to adapt. Trust me though--the game is plenty challenging just using the traditional controls.

#4: NO MISSIONS, JUST TIMED RACES...In some games, you get a break from the timed race, like in the Midnight Club or Burnout games, and you get to race a course backward, or your mission is to run 20 cars off the road or cause a huge wreck. Not in MotorStorm. Your mission is the same across the board--win each race. It does tend to become monotonous at times.

Let me discuss the GOOD THINGS associated with MotorStorm now...

The graphics are the best I've seen on any game--bar none. The stunning detail is a major distraction in this game, as you leap over ramps and view monument valley while flying through the air. The wrecks are astounding as well. Sometimes, it's fun to choose and ATV or motorcycle and purposely cause huge wrecks. You get to view your body hurling through the air in slow motion with the ability to spin the scene around with the R stick. More often then not, your body bounces off of rocks and ends up being run over by another vehicle. Awesome! The jumps are amazing, too. Depending on your vehicle, you can control your tilt and wah in mid-air (which seems like an eternity, the jumps are so huge) to set up the perfect landing.

The vehicles are terrific. All of them react different to the different tracks, which makes the game truly challenging. As soon as you've mastered the motorcycle on the mesa race, you then have to compete in a race through the mud with a mudplugging jeep. Each vehicle has different acceleration, braking, turning radius and what I like to call "dent quotient." The bigger vehicles can take a real beating, whereas the ATV's and motorcycles might get hit by a rock and go flying into a rock formation in pieces. Very realistic. Also, your vehicle retains its damage until you wreck it; which means, you could smack into another vehicle, and then be racing with no doors and your hood flapping against your windshield the entire race. You can knock your wheels out of alignment, too. Your wheels will wobble until you wreck and get a new vehicle. Navigating the dirt buggies is like riding on a constant trampoline: they just bounce everywhere, which is fun until you are trying to cross the finish line in 1st, you come out of a jump, and bounce right into a gravel pit and flip over. It's an insane ride that will have you laughing hysterically, albeit with sweaty palms. To make it even more stressful, you can change your camera view to "shoulder cam" (for ATV's and motorcycles) or "in cockpit" (for the others) where the terrain moves more than you do...it's dizzyingly fun!

Lastly, the controls are so simple, you'd think you were playing the Atari 2600. One button for gas, one for braking (which doubles as reverse also) one for boost, and one to knock an opponent off his bike (if you're on a bike) or peep your horn (if your in another type of vehicle). This makes it so that anyone can jump right in and start playing the game.

All of this leads me to believe that Sony Entertainment is leaving the door wide open for an entire series of MotorStorm games. Why make a game this good with different missions, tasks and tracks when you can string it out through 4 or 5 games? I guess I'm old fashioned--I paid $60 for this game right when it came out, and I'm staggered at the boring, old-school "win the race to open other locked races and vehicles" mentality. I bet that a MotorStorm 2 will be out just in time for Christmas, boasting more tracks, more vehicles and more missions. Get your wallet ready--we're all in for an amazingly fun, expensive ride.

Motorstorm gives you a variety of interesting vehicles racing on the same muddy track. Race a motorcycle against a large truck, and see who comes out on top!

The graphics in this game are just stunning. The details in the canyon ridges, the scrubs and shrubs along the path, the tiny details on the vehicles, are are rendered in amazing detail. We sat and watched MANY crahes just to marvel at how well done the physics were, how the tiny pieces of the vehicle sprang apart and bounded along the path.

The sound is a heavy metal rock beat. This will be great if you love this kind of music or will get quickly very annoying if you don't. The solution is of course just to turn down the music and play your own if you're not into it. Problem solved pretty quickly.

Gameplay is fascinating because of the wide variety of vehicles involved. Most games have buggies against buggies, or racecars against racecars. In this one you can choose motorcycles, ATVs, buggies, race cars, trucks, jeeps, and a variety of other vehicles. The tracks are set up with a high, medium and low path. The heavier vehicles can plow through the mud and take the easier route. The lighter vehicles need to skirt along the canyon edges, taking advantage of their small size.

This is super in theory but in practice there are only a small number of courses, and each type of vehicle really only does well on its own set track. So unlike some racing games where there are a variety of paths and options you can take for victory, for here it's more like there are interweaving tracks and you have to stay on "yours" if you want to win. It's still fun of course, but it could have been much better by really giving you multiple options.

Another real downside here is that there is NO LOCAL MULTIPLAYER. The package says 1-12 players but they mean solely online. I really think packages should list local and online separate on their packaging so there is no confusion. I opened this up wanting to have some fun races against my boyfriend but we couldn't! To me, that really takes away from the fun of a game, if it's this sort of multiplayer game but the only let you play online.

Still, if you're the type of person who only plays single player or someone who thrives in the online environment this game really is a LOT of fun. The physics are simply amazing. You could use this game in physics classes to explain various actions and interactions.

Great fun but I'd really like to see a Motorstorm 2 that had local multiplayer and more courses.

I first saw this game at a local Sony Style store where a customer was playing it on the store's demo PS3. I was really impressed. A couple weeks later I found the teaser version on the PS Network and downloaded it. It was really a lot of fun. So I bought the game.

MotoStorm is a one-of-a-kind racer that gives you all the highs you want from a game racer. As many have commented out, the best part are the crashes... esp. when they are catastrophic. The explosions are gorgeously rendered in real time, as is the rest of the hi-def graphics. The speed -and the associated adrenaline rush -are exactly what a gamer wants in a game. In the fun arena, no other game beats this one.

Unfortunately the game is ultimately a short one. With only eight tracks and one single-player mode, it's bound to get boring. I'm still enjoying the solo experience but I can imagine very soon I'll start playing online. But I doubt I'll be hooked for too long, unlike, say, NFS Carbon. The mitigating aspect is, of course, I can always pick up this game any time and have a blast (pun intended) with it. I just wish the designers had made this a better, deeper game.

Everyone who says this game sucks without giving it any credit is definitely and without a doubt a microsoft xbox360 fan boy and basically just jelous because Motorstorm is truely amazing, and in my opinion takes graphics and physics to a completely different level. The truck handles awesome and the controls are wonderful. The graphics are beyond describable if you put this game on an HDTV. Microsoft fan boys will always continue to bash on PS3. Just ignore them. this game is awesome. I think this is the first game that shows the potential power of PS3. Buy it and enjoy!!!

I've been playing the demo for about a month now. Truly amazing. The graphics are a step up from the PS2, but the physics of the crashes is where the game really shines. Every crash swithches into instant slo-mo and each piece of debris as well as the driver bounce and interact with everything. One time, the driver of the motorcycle got thrown and got run over by a car, and then got caught up in the engine compartment of that car and got dragged 100 yds, only to come off and then get creamed by another car!. A definite must own!. The music is great as well.

I like for my things to have some "pop". Plain black is simple and boring. When I saw the graphics on this, I had to have it. Never have I seen a twisted mad hatter as twisted looking as he is (he's even drooling!).

My biggest fear on getting things like this, is the application. I've had some horrible luck trying to get stickers lined up and no air bubbles and my efforts are for nothing, because I have to ditch whatever I was trying to do. These are nicely pre-cut and you can make sure of the exact placement before taking off the back, then carefully put them on. Watch for air bubbles because those tricky little boogers don't come out easy, and the adhesive is strong.

After spending some time, and patience, I carefully got all but two of them on, and it looks fabulous! Just like the picture!! However, I DID leave two of them off because they covered up some of the air vents, and I just don't like the idea of that. But SO worth the money... and it does come with decals for two controllers! :)

Very happy camper! :)

I am reviewing this because of the many unfair negative reviews that I have read. The game graphics are superb. My TV is High Definition and running the games in 1080i (Maximum resolution of my TV), the game graphics are unbelievable.

The game play is also superb. The game is not easy, I would say that it is medium in difficulty. The cornerstone of the game is drifting the car and being able to control the car drifting in corners at very high speeds. You win races, get credit and new equipment and then buy more equipment and so on. It takes a few hours to really master drifting properly. AND then the fun begins.

Once you mastered the game and won the huge amounts of single player games on the games itself, you can then compete online. There are many wonderful tracks with immaculate scenery. The games allows you to play any of those, with any of the huge number of cars that you have, in normal or reverse directions. The possible iterations are endless.

Another impressive thing about the game is the handling of the cars. Each car feels different and handles differently. The upgrades to each of the cars changes the experience entirely.

To-Date, this is the best Game I have on the PS3, and I find myself playing for hours. Very Challenging in parts, and really fun.

It also support to players where you can race against a second player on the same machine.

The Game is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Ridge Racer 7 PS3 is a car racing game that relies on drift. You don't just race in a straight line around a track you have to skid along the corners in order to win.

Much of how much you like or dislike this game is going to come down to how much you enjoy that idea. If you're the kind of person who plays "regular" racing games all the time and enjoy that straight blast of speed, you might be frustrated in trying to get your car to drift properly. It might go against what you want to do, and you just won't enjoy the play.

Also, the game isn't meant to be a realistic racing sim. You can easily ping-pong off of the side barriers and walls and other cars. They simply nudge you back into line to keep going. So if part of your skill is in talented avoidance of other cars, or perhaps scaring them into easing off, that won't work here.

So, that being said, Ridge Racer 7 is quite good at what it does offer. For that fun action-movie style of racing where you're skidding with squealing tires around a curve, knocking your opponent off-line and then nitro-zipping to victory, you'll have it made. The cars' traits are customizeable. You can even change how they look. You've got a selection of tracks to work with as part of the single-player game, and then you can take it online to challenge other top notch racers.

Yes, the game isn't easy. You'll have to practice a fair amount to get deep into the game. I don't consider that a bad thing. It lets you build up the skill set necessary to win and it keeps you interested in moving forward.

I wasn't personally fond of the music, but they do have an option to turn it off. So I simply did that and played my own MP3s while I raced. Not really a bit issue.

So, in the end, well recommended for someone who enjoys this type of racing. If you're not sure it will match up with your racing style, rent it but be sure to play it for a solid weekend at least before you give up on it. It'll be tricky at first. Hang in there and give it a solid test, to build up your skills, before you decide if it's for you or not.

Rating: 8/10

I purchased this game with my own funds in order to do this review.

Buy Ridge Racer 7 Now

Pros

--stunning graphics considering the tech level of 06

--almost the same physics as those in PSP ones

--customization, great idea, although they could've offered more options

--increased difficulty from PSP ones, races are no longer total dominations

Cons

--There doesn't seem to be a special class or I am not far enough

--Too many manufacturers, the managing relationship points can be an awful headache

--unlocking requirements are a little weird

It's fun game, not a serious racing game. If you are stressed out by Gran Turismo and want to relax, or if you are not great at racing games but want some fun at high speed, go for it.

Overall, good racer. Got this in 2010, 4 years after its original release. Graphics texturing and reflections are a little primitive by PS3 standards now, but for its time it is a great showcase of the famous Ridge Racer sensation of speed.

Later races are rather difficult and seem to rely almost as much on luck as on skill.

I admit that I am a fan of racing games. To me, the things that matter most are a strong sense of speed, good handling of the vehicles, and graphics. I have played Ridge Racer games on the original Playstation, and I admit that they sucked...bad! However, I picked up RR7 on the launch day of the PS3, and I will say that I made the best choice! RR7 has realistic looking graphics, great music, fun controls (albeit with a moderate learning curve), and a good sense of speed. I highly recommend it for people looking for a racing game featuring modern, realistic vehicles. There are no weapons or anything, this is pure racing, but makes extensive use of the online Playstation Network, has free downloadable content, online rankings galore, and countless modes of online competitive racing, complete with online gambling (with points). I could go on and on about it, but the best thing to do is just buy a copy. You will not be disappointed if you enjoy pure racing games.

I have been a fan of Assassin's Creed for a long time and this iteration does not disappoint. The graphic novel is amazing quality and quite a joy to read. The Encyclopedia itself is well worth the extra price for this package as a fan new or old. It covers places, characters and organizations from the whole Assassin's creed setting. I would recommend this edition to anyone who is a fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise.

I come at this from the perspective of a pretty big fan of the AC series. Following the buildup and hype surrounding the development of AC3, I was excited and preordered at the first opportunity. The encyclopedia is just what I was expecting. Lengthy, well made and full of the interesting fluff that makes the AC universe fun. The graphic novel was good as well. I'm glad I got this over the limited edition trinkets. Onto the game, the review of which I posted also on the AC3 product page:

Having recently completed the single player story, I came away with a definite sense of disappointment, for a number of reasons that I shall attempt to outline.

First though, credit to the developers for creating another living, breathing world this time revolutionary America. One of the great joys of the AC series is being able to lose yourself in another place and time, and both Boston and New York give you the sense of watching the US develop. I particularly liked the addition of seasons and dynamic weather, which both add to the sense of immersion. The addition of the homestead and homestead missions were also a nice touch. The voice acting is movie quality. The soundtrack is good, though I wish there was more music playing throughout the game. The naval battles are more arcade-y than simulation but still good fun and a highlight of the game. I reserve judgement on the story as I imagine it works for some people and not others.

To my areas of disappointment:

Connor Ultimately I have to say I was not a big fan of Connor. Throughout the series the fictional characters have been pretty relatable and sympathetic figures, who capture the imagination of the player. Even with his reasons, I found Connor to be dry and pretty unlikeable. Plowing through his enemies with little humor and rarely more than a sour expression, I got the sense more than anything that I was playing as an 18th century version of the T-1000 from Terminator 2. Perhaps this was intended as one of Connor's flaws, but I think in the end when you can't get behind the character you're playing it's hard to really buy into the story, whatever it is. Frankly, I preferred Haytham.

Combat Less of an issue for newcomers to the series, as a veteran however I found the new control scheme and combat system took quite some time to get used to. There was a certain amount of muscle memory from previous games that I needed to unlearn, particularly related to free running and targeting (or not) enemies in combat. Also I found the switch away from the quasi-hit point/health potion system to be an overall negative. I liked improving armor and monitoring its state of repair. I also don't really like the trend of the series towards making the assassins unstoppable juggernauts. With competent use of the almighty Counter button, it's really pretty difficult to die in combat, and you can easily plow through a dozen or more enemies on a killing streak. Conditions rarely, if ever, call for anything more than your pistol and your preferred melee weapon. Calling in brotherhood assassins is also fairly unnecessary. You could easily get through the entire game (and I did) without using any of the special functions that become available to you by recruiting assassins.

Frontier Perhaps this was just me, but for at least half the game I had a total misconception of the Frontier. At first I thought it was simply relatively small, finite areas surrounding the Homestead, Boston and New York. Instead I now believe it is supposed to be representative of the entire northeastern US with no interruptions. If that is so, I have a hard time reconciling the scale that is supposed to represent and Connor's ability to move through it.

Economy In what seems to be a tradition with Assassins Creed games, there always seems to be one element that seems utterly tacked on and clumsy. In AC3 the honor goes to the economy and the entire crafting mechanic. It's like Ubisoft assigned it to their interns and didn't take another look at it until it was time to compile it into the game. The system is not even internally consistent, as for example there is a different sequence of button presses required to set up land convoys as compared to naval convoys. The whole thing is clunky, unintuitive and really has no bearing on the game proper. I imagine most people skip it after figuring out bear skins are plenty lucrative. I also much preferred the specialized shops of AC2 to the general store approach of AC3.

Bugs With an open-world game of this size I think the presence of some bugs is to be expected and is generally forgivable. Strangely though, most of the glitches I encountered were during scripted events and missions areas that really should have been scrutinized in testing and ironed out. On at least two occasions during major assassination events I encountered critical bugs that required restarting from the last checkpoint. That really ruins the sense of flow and left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't get to playing until after the first major patch either.

Miscellaneous By the nature of the setting a nascent set of colonies with really only a few decades of development there are none of the kind of architectural masterpieces present in renaissance Italy. Other than the opening sequence there really aren't a whole lot of "oh, wow" moments as far as that goes. Perhaps relatedly there also aren't many climbing puzzles, which I found I missed. The notoriety system is not better, and throughout the cities you may find yourself unwittingly setting off alarms without any advance warning. I also would have appreciated something that made the optional objectives a bit easier to pick up on. Often they flash in the corner of the screen in the middle of a chase or a fight and before you know it you've failed them.

In the end this is definitely a game worth playing, and overall it's fun. It's far from perfect however and does not rank as highly as some of the previous AC games. With the success of the series, here's hoping there's some better efforts in the future.

I played with this stick when E3 09 rolled around L.A. The manufacture was having a SF4 tourney to show off the stick. I looked at it and thought it looked cheap and I was right. IF you go into this expecting it to feel like the TE madcatz stick, you are going to be disappointed. But if you can get past the look and somewhat cheap feel of stick and buttons you'll be treated to a stick that to me feels better then the SE madcatz SF4 stick (the smaller white stick). The joystick and buttons are fairly responsive, I made it to top 4 in the E3 tourney and stick felt good after every match. I am unsure if this stick can be modded with Sanwa parts like the SE madcatz stick, but for the price I would much rather have this stick standard than the SE madcatz standard. If your hard up for cash but need a good starter stick this stick can not be beat at the price.

This is a cheapo budget stick. It works, but it's not great. "High quality" is printed all over the box, and this makes me pretty angry. It comes at least the third the price of a legitimate high-quality stick made of Sanwa or Hori parts, and this company has the nerve to print "high quality" on their box when it obviously is not.

Regardless, the buttons are kind of stiff but they are otherwise responsive and work just fine. The stick is a little problematic. It's got an "octagonal gate" in it but when I opened it up to take a peek at it, the corners on it were so rounded out you might as well have called it circle gate. This makes diagonals really difficult to hit consistently, which is a huge barrier in a fighting game that requires precision inputs.

Speaking of opening it up, there's a giant cylindrical weight inside. High quality weights!

In any case, if you replace the terrible circle gate in it with a good old square gate (A sanwa fits just fine,) the stick works SIGNIFICANTLY better and makes this thing a very plausible option for a budget stick.

I bought this a few weeks ago. My friend and I are big into Super Street Fighter 4 right now and I bought this as a transition to joystick play instead of d-pad. I am please with this. Again I have never owned another joystick since the NES so I'm no professional, but my friend bought a MadCatz SF4 edition joystick. I think his joystick might have been slightly tighter than mine, and his was definately bulkier and heavier. But otherwise handled the same. A good buy at a great price, unless you really want to pay $120 or more for a joystick.

i purchase this stick on early march for about sixty bucks not forty like the website dreamgear advertises. but the stick actually is playable, if ur a first time user and looking for something on a budget go for this. i actually bought a sanwa restrictor gate and it fit, but the game gameplay was horrible so i had to take it out, i also bought a bartop and it fit, but my experience with gameplay still sucked so all the parts i bought were for nothing (there just spare parts for my Madatz stick). this stick does look like it can be moddified but the buttons look like a problem bcuz when i first opened the stick, the buttons were molded to a controller pcb, the only thing i saw u can actually modd was maybe the joystick (replacable), but the buttons looks like a pain. and yes the buttons are kinda stiff but i got use to it. but the design is pimp and im actually gotten good with this stick that ill proly use this just for kicks have u seen the fighter on the stick looks epic! :)

pros: it works, long cable 13ft i believe, compartment for the cable on bottom of the stick, very funny artwork, and its an arcade fighter.

cons: feels cheap, modding looks like a pain, stiff buttons, buttons are molded to a pcb.

u get what u paid for!

This is a budget stick, but it can go a long way. You will be paying a fraction of the price of the quality sticks.

I like to play competitive online and it was frustrating to keep missing those diagonal moves and tiger knee motions. However I followed another reviewer advice and purchased a Sanwa Octagonal gate from a well known auction site for under ten bucks. To replace it you just pop out the old one and pop in the new one (look it up on youtube, extremely easy) With this new gate I can get pro-like performance. I will agree with the other reviewer that the original octagonal gate was almost a circle, just replace it with a sanwa and the results are impressive. No need to shell out big bucks on the $150 sticks, just purchase this one and a $10 octagonal gate.

You are once again playing as John Marston. This time you are trying to find out why zombies have taken over the west. If you want to put a time stamp on this game it takes place between John Marston reuniting with his family and the end of Red Dead Redemption.

While you take on various tasks through the storyline you find yourself rescuing town after town from zobmie hordes. This gets a little old after a while but you get different weapons from each town you save. One reason this gets old is because no town is saved forever. The zombies will attack again.

The story takes you through Texas and Mexico on your hunt to stop the hordes. Along the way you run into many of the characters from Red Dead Redemption. I can't give away the ending but but it is one of the best endings you will find in a game. It is awesome.

Beyond the story there are new things to hunt, new random events, and new weapons which will keep you busy for hours.

The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is the fact that it gets repeative after a while. Even considering that this is a must have!

This is an amazing DLC (downloadable content). However you must beware.

This same bundle is available on PSN as a bundle with Liars and Cheats,Legends and Killers, and of course, Undead Nightmare at $20.00, so be aware this has an advantage only through it being re-tradable.

I would give The Undead Nightmare DLC an easy five stars, but I'd recommend that you download this instead. The other two DLC packs just are not worth $10 a piece. I think I read somewhere that Rockstar wanted to release those two packs for free, but were contractually obligated to have them cost money as they'd already released free DLC. I think this shows as there's really not that much to do in those packs unless you really want to play RDR poker or throw a hatchet. If that's worth $20 for you, then be my guest! Otherwise Undead Nightmare is a fantastic add on. It's creepy, funny, and beautiful looking. I haven't even finished regular Red Dead Redemption story before I jumped into this. Highly recommend, but just download it off PSN instead, and if you must, buy the other two packs next time they go on sale.

Let's just say this DLC caught my attention right away. Blending westerns and zombies (two of my favorite types of games) seemed like such a good idea it should have been done a long time ago. While I originally felt a little disappointed it was only DLC, it turned out to feel very much like an entire game in itself.

The Red Dead series is just plain fun. While Undead Nightmare is considered DLC, it does not shrink the size of the world from Red Dead Redemption. The map is huge with plenty of towns to save, citizens to save from the zombie hoards, and buildings to explore. Fast traveling between towns is a little different from Redemption, but it makes re-saving towns much less stressful. There are loads of new weapons, weapon combinations, outfits, animals, and horses to break (including the Four Horses of the Apocalypse and even a Unicorn). The only part of this game I feel leaves too many questions is the end. Don't worry, I won't say anything specific, but anyone who has gotten there should know what I mean. It's not enough to detract anything from the title, but it seems to come out of nowhere.

You can download this pack for $19.99 on PSN or I just bought a used stand-alone copy for the same price to save a few gigabytes of bandwidth. Either way, it's a great time.

To be fair i've only played the game a few times so take this review in that light. I'm not sure what I was expecting but after reading so many glowing reviews I figured for 19.99 what did I have to lose. The game just seems tedious to me. Going from town to town killing zombies(ho-hum). Maybe i'm just zombied out right now. I'll give it a few more tries then update my review.

I bought this controller for Killzone 2 and liked it well enough. Coming from the ergo-awesome 360 controller, I needed something a little less wrist twisting than the DS3. For the 10 or so hours I used the controller, it seemed quite nice. However, something happened.

For whatever reason, my controller started vibrating without any input. I tried to reset the controller, but it continued to vibrate. I even let the batter completely wear down for a good week and still, when I charged it back up, it started vibrating again.

Normally, I wouldn't worry about it since this type of issue should be covered under a warranty. However, as soon as I contacted customer service at DreamGear, I was played like a fiddle.

Not only do they not stand behind their products, but the inner-most workings of this thing must be quite sub-par for it to just start vibrating for no reason and THEN not be able to remedy it.

In summary, the controller design is nice. However, whats the point of a controller if it doesn't work and if the manufacturer doesn't support their products. DreamGear has failed in my eyes and I hope no one else makes the mistake of buying their less-than-worthless products.

Other reviews here are accurate. The performance of the analog sticks just don't cut it. They go from low to high way to quick with barely any room for a "medium". Bought this guy mostly because the PS3 controller was killing my thumbs along with my 5 year old having issues reaching the sticks comfortably. Thought the Shadow was the answer because the 360 controller is by far superior in ergonomics (got a PS3 for Bluray). I did a side by side comparison with the Shadow and SixAxis controller and came away with a new appreciation for the Sixaxis. Control with the Shadow is clunky and inaccurate at best resulting in some frustrating game play. Why somebody can't make a good 360 style controller for the PS3 is beyond me. The company that does sure will make a killing. The Shadow will be returned to Best Buy.

The Good:

This controller feels great in my hands. I like how the left analog stick and the d-pad locations are swapped. Biggest selling point for me as I prefer it for most of the games I play. I've got nothing against the Dualshock 3(great for SF4).

The quality of this controller is top notch. The rubber exterior feels good.

The sticks and buttons feel great. The sticks have a good resistance to them. Not too loose and not too hard.

Built in rechargeable battery is very nice. Recharges like the DS3. Battery lasts for dozens of hours(haven't timed it yet).

Good wireless connectivity. Can sit up to about 25-30 ft away.

The Not-so-good:

The "enhanced" triggers on this controllers aren't really enhanced. Sure they curve out instead in curving in but the travel distance is half of the DS3. On some games, you have to press them all the way down to register the press.

There is no Sixaxis controls so you'll have to switch controllers for games that utilize Sixaxis controls.

I wish it was Bluetooth. Can't start up the PS3 by pressing the "Home" button.

Clicking down on the sticks is louder than most controllers(Just me being nitpicky).

The USB receiver is a bit too big for my liking. Again, me nitpicking.

D-pad isn't that great. Not as good as the DS3 but better than the 360 d-pad.

I wish the tops of the analog stick were concave(360) instead of convex(DS3).

Overall, a great alternative for those who prefer the 360 layout to the DS3. Highly recommended.

the feel of the controller is good but when playin calll of duty 4, no matter what sensitivity you are playing on, this controller ruins it. If you move the stick slighty it will barely move and then it suddenly shoots into a super fast speed. So if you try to snipe or try to be very accurate, this controller will not work.

I realy liked this controller better than the dualshock3.It is a lot more comfortable. And the trigers are better because your fingers don't side off.1 problem is you can't turn the ps3 on.Overall this is a quality controller.

EDIT

Ok, so I been using this controller for 6 months. And for 3 months it worked fine, but then the triangle button went out and now the circle button is dead too.

So I changed my original 5 star rating to a 2 star.

Time will tell the performance of this console, the Medal of Honor game is not good and for the price you pay not convinced me this purchase, the command of the ps3 already hurt me, it shows the quality fata new materials the new model.

Only get this game IF

+ You are a Gundam fan.

+ You want to create your own mobile suit by earning the parts.

+ You love to play hard levels to get the mobile suit parts.

I took away a star becuase of the losing parts if you get killed in a mission.

Gundam Breaker is what Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1-3 should have been. This does not have a story mode. You just fight different mobile suit foes and earn parts from them. You are about to create your own mobile suit but be warned if you get killed in missions you will lose parts you earn. I advice you to replay levels to get parts for your mobile suit.

If you do not like the three above do not buy this game. One more thing you do not need to learn Japanese to play this game.
