Well since I am 62 years old and played this for most of it, I hoped this would allow me to spend some of my days playing by myself on my PS3 since my wife cheats so bad I refuse to even play with her anymore! I read the first 5 or so reviews here at Amazon and thought "this is it, what I've been waiting for"....Not quite. After 3 days with this game, dealing with the frustrations of resetting ALL the features to MY preferences every single time I begin (it forgets everything you set it to when you start over!!!!), and the worst fault, one of the AI players you play against rolls ENDLESS "doubles" on the dice, allowing them to advance across the entire board, buying up EVERYTHING while I roll endless 4 0r fives and never get anywhere except to their now owned properties? NO thanks. Then, that other AI player begins rolling doubles TWICE at a time and doing so 25+% of the time? My wife doesn't even know how to cheat THAT bad! C'mon......this just isn't fun. I have mine for sale on Craigslist this 4th day of play. Sorry, I wanted this to be a relaxing game of chance. NO chance here and I regret it immensely. Graphics are nice as long as you turn OFF the endless animations that bore you to death after the 3rd or 4th run around the board. I also found myself enjoying the regular old fashioned board (available in this game) WAY more. Simply because it better allowed me to see who owned what. Not really able to tell so much if playing with the new interface board. It seems a choice of be entertained VS play the darn game?

So I regret the designers choice to stack the deck as it were with this idiotic mess of having an AI player who rolls doubles every single time they roll the dice. It simply make me ask, "WHAT'S THE POINT"! My copy used for less than 1 hour is now for sale for $25.00. If I can't dump it, I will donate it to Children's Hospital or similar Charity in hopes that if 4 people actually play head to head, MAYBE the computer doesn't allow this dice "glitch"? I only have one single controller so I am unable to test this. Best of luck to those who buy. They did just a wonderful job if not for the AI & that your settings are not remembered. I'll just go back to playing my old board game with my cheating wife. At least when I catch HER, I can drink up her beer to get even!

UPDATE: For those who do NOT read the "comments" section, this comment by Anonymous shopper adds a couple points I forgot to mention in my frustration:

Anonymous Shopper says:

I just wanted to add that you are right, the AI cheats. The cheating is blatant, undeniable, inexcusable, illogical, anything but random. In addition to all the doubles, getting exact dice rolls to skip over human-owned properties, etc., two AI players will work together against the human player. For example, they will deny a trade for 200% (or more!) profit in their favor with a human, then trade the SAME property for face value or less to another AI player, giving that AI player a monopoly.

AI players will also barrage human players for trade after trade after trade, almost always a ridiculously bad deal for the human player, and if you accidentally hit the OK button to stop all the pop-ups, you accidentally give away one of your properties for less than it is worth and there is no way to correct that mistake without ending the game.

To sum this review up, I now suspect my wife conspired with this games developers....... :-))

This is a VERY fun game!!! The new mode (Streets) is a fresh take on the classic game. I have to say....I don't play very many games online, but this game is a blast to play via the PSN network. You can customize the rules to your liking, and the game runs very smooth and no lag at all. The only gripe is that the avatars are pre-selected to match your token.....and their voices and animations can get a bit stale after a while. Fear not because the game gives you the ability to skip those animations!!! The major difference between this and the version for the Xbox 360 is that you get to use your Xbox avatars in place of the generic avatars provided in the PlayStation 3 version. I am such a fan of games, I ended up getting a copy of both for each system. This is truly ONE OF THOSE GAMES that you can spend HOURS playing!!!

I've only owned Monopoly Streets for a couple days now but I can already tell it's one of those games that you can squeeze hours and hours of fun out of. The graphics are well done and it's incredible to see the game in a 3-D perspective. All the sounds and animations are fun and you can skip ahead of any you don't want to see. You can also customize the rules and options pretty well so you can turn off movement animations. I have yet to play online but the co-op on a single console works well.

I recommend this to couples or friends that enjoy playing on one console. You can set your CPU opponents skill level which is a big help. The higher the skill level the more competitively they play and less likely they are to make a trade that doesn't benefit them to a strong degree. Overall this game is a blast and highly recommended to anyone who likes the Monopoly board game or games in general.

I really liked playing this game at first, but there are some unforgivable bugs in it. I have little hope that EA will ever fix these issues as they have lingered for months.

During game play, you'll earn points that you can use to unlock extra game boards or playing pieces. The problem is that any item you unlock(buy) will be locked the next time you start the game and the points you used to unlock the item will not be refunded.

The second major issue is that many users can't play online. Every time they try to, they get a message saying the EA servers are unavailable. For these people there are rumors that purchasing and playing certain games (Need for speed 2 or FIFA) will suddenly allow online play in this game. Personally, I've tried NCAA football 2011 and while I can connect to EA servers with that game, it doesn't appear to be the magic bullet for getting Streets to connect.

If all you want to do is play offline against the AI and don't care about unlocking the extras, then you'll probably love this game. If you want to experience all of the content or play online, you'll probably want to stay away from this title. The fact that these issues still exist 8 months after it was released is unforgivable. I also find it unforgivable for EA to be creating add-on content that can be purchased (with real money) rather than fixing fundamental flaws in this game.

This is my first review so I hope this reads okay. I was very hesitant to buy this game because of a few reviews I had read. I have to say, my wife and I love this game. We are both 32 years old and we have a 9 month old baby, so we were looking for a game we could both play and enjoy and this is it. One review I read stated that House Rules cannot be saved, they have to be readjusted with every game. This is NOT TRUE. You can label it what you would like and use those same adjusted rules every time. There are 3 pages of rules to change to your liking. (i.e. free parking pays cash, landing on GO gets you double, auctions, etc.). Another review stated the AI cheats and rolls doubles all the time. NOT totally true. They do but so did we. We both made a comment that it was completely even and fair the number of double we all rolled. We also liked the fact that you could turn off the computer players if you just wanted to play with just 2 people. There are around 10 new pieces and also a few additional board styles to buy with your monopoly money and also a few to buy with actual cash.

You can play with your friends or just random people on the web also. We haven't tried that yet so I will update that later.

I definitely recommend this title to any age, it's a fun time and seems like it will be for months to come.
