For a cricket fan like myself, this game is a huge relief. Now first let me start by informing you guys that this game is shipped from UK where they use the PAL video output format. Here is USA we use the NTSC format. Simply put if you want to play this game in USA you need a HD TV and a HDMI cable.
I was unable to play the game at first, and on doing some research regarding the error displayed by my PS3 I found out that I need a HD TV and a HDMI cable. I did recently buy a 3D TV and bought a couple of cheap HDMI cables online. But that did not help. I was about to return this game but out of sheer luck I decided to try one of those expensive HDMI cables. I got the SONY HDMI cable($34.00) and I was indeed able to play the game. The graphics are good, commentary is very nice.
All in all 4 out of 5 stars for this game. Hopefully EA sports will follow suit.

Seems like there aren't too many options out there for cricket games. Was really excited for this game, got it in Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport.NOTE: THIS GAME IS IN THE PAL FORMAT. HERE IN THE USA WE USE NTSC. IN ORDER TO PLAY THIS GAME IN THE USA YOU NEED AN HD TV AND AN HDMI CABLE. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THOSE COMPONENTS.
Solid game, has all of the forms of cricket (Twenty20, ODI, and Test). The Australian and the English National teams have the actual players and kits. For the other ODI nations, the names bear a vague familiarity to the actual players, but they are all misspelled. The mechanics and the interface for the game is very intuitive and you can get used to it very quickly. This is a game that once you figure out how to play it, it becomes kind of boring because there is no way that the AI can beat you, even with the difficulty at hard.
The graphics are OK, but compared to the graphics of other sports games(American Football, Soccer, Basketball, etc.), International Cricket still has a lot of room for improvement. In general, the game is a solid start, but needs to be a LOT more work put into it to bring it up to comparison to other sports games.

I've had "International Cricket 2010" for about a week now and just love it. I think its the best cricket video game I've played so far; the only other game I've played was Cricket 07 for PC. My computer crashed and was too lazy to reinstall Cricket 07. Plus, I wanted a better game and a console game, so I searched the web and stumbled upon IC 2010. I originally saw it on Amazon's UK site so I kept looking and happily saw the US site had it as well. I ordered it right away and it came before the expected arrival date, which is always a plus.Before I talk about the game, I want to reiterate what other people have commented on: Even though PS3's are region free, you need to have your PS3 connected an HDTV via hdmi cable for games in PAL format, as IC 2010 is, to work. If your not, the game is not going to work, and your missing out on the real graphics power of the PS3. Just wanted to caution future buyers of this game, and other non-US games.
To the game. Like I've said before, the only other cricket video game I played was Cricket 07 on pc. This game was a big set up. The graphics are pretty good. Other people said they are crap. Well the games they are comparing it to, FIFA, NBA 2k, have a much, much, larger market! I own NBA 2k11 and I believe it's the best sports game I've played so far. However, basketball video games have a huge market and 2k sports has been working on their basketball series for years. I don't think Codemasters has been working on cricket video games as long as 2k sports has on its basketball games. And, since EA has stopped making cricket video games, 07 being the last one, there is no competition. Nonetheless, I believe IC 2010's graphics is on par with the average PS3 sports game, which is not a bad thing. The market will eventually grow cricket video games, and this issue will be a thing of the past.
Gameplay is great! It's fun and educational. When I was a child, I moved to parents home country and really got into cricket. However, when we moved back to the US, it was very hard to follow it, and lost touch of the game for about 10 years. I got back into cricket in the last 8-9 months, and this game is very helpful in learning the different bowling, batting, and fielding plays. IC 2010 has a number of tutorials for batting, bowling, and fielding, which could seem boring, but are very helpful in gaining knowledge on the sport, especially if your new to it.
The best thing about this game is that it's pretty challenging. That's one major problem I had with Cricket 07, it was too easy! You have to watching your timing and accuracy for both batting and bowling. Bowling is the hardest part of the game to pick up, I believe. When I first started playing, it was so hard taking wickets. As in real cricket, you have to vary your deliveries. I believe the difficulty with bowling show's how realistic this game is. The batting seems pretty realistic as well, but its no where as hard as bowling. The realism of this game is above par.
I only have 3 gripes with this game. The 1st one is a run out bug. It's happened to me in only 1 game I've played, but twice in that game. I was bowling, and the bowler grabbed the ball and threw them at the wickets. All of a sudden the AI took off and got run out! I was perplexed. Then it happened again a few overs later. I felt I got cheated in earning 2 wickets.
My 2nd gripe is that you can't go online. I don't know if this is because I am in the US. It sucks because I would have loved to see how I stand against online competition.
My last gripe was with the cricket board licenses. Codemasters only attained England, and Australia's. I wish they were able to get the licenses from all the test playing nations at least. Your able to edit players and change their names, so I searched the IC 2010 roster and found a list of the real names of the players from the other countries. I edited the names for players in most of the test playing nations. It's strange that they have their actual test career stats, at that time, but not their names. Most names are not too off from their real names, but it's annoying. Since their not "real" players, they get default appearances. The Australian and English players look like the real players, they did a great job on their facial features for these players. Since the other licenses weren't attain, the players obviously look nothing like the real players. But, they could of done a better job with it. For instances, some West Indies players that are of Indian descent have African features, and vice versa. I guess it could be they don't want to get sued or something, but still, at least get their race correct!
Overall, I truly enjoy this game. I wish I could play online, and all the licenses were attained. However, those are minute problems compared to the actual gameplay. This is a game everyone can enjoy, a newcomer to cricket or a veteran follower of the sport. I hope some of you find this review helpful in deciding to purchase this game.

My experience playing this game is decent. Don't have high expectations but for a cricket fan this is really a treat. PS3 users have been really blessed that this game work absolutely fine irrespective of PAL format.Pros:
Decent graphics
Batting: Good shot selection. You can play several shots in the area you intend to play.
Bowling: Swings/Cut deliveries are available. You can switch sides while bowling as well. Also you can change the field position according to your bowling strategy.
Fielding: Ready field settings are available to change and select the field quickly.
Grounds: There are many grounds available in this game, almost from all cricket playing countries.
Match type: Test and One day matches are available. Minimum you can bowl for 5 overs in a One day match.
Cons:
Batting (Spoiler): Even a yorker ball can be pulled or hooked to boundry till then you time your shot well. The animation for such a shot is horrible because of the way the ball bounces.
Batting (Spoiler): To hit fours and sixes to a fast bowler, just hit the loft button as soon as he delivers the ball from his hand. They could have made it better.
Online gaming: Good that online gaming is available but you won't find any sessions to play with.
This game works well in USA though is of PAL format. I am playing on Sony Bravia HD LCD TV using HDMI connection. I am using AmazonBasics HDMI cable for connecting my PS3 to my TV. Also have tried MediaBridge HDMI cable and the game works absolutely fine with either.
For a Cricket fan this game is a must. You won't regret buying this game.
