Normally, these things are like $450 $500. So, when I seen it for $250 I jumped on it. I've own the larger competitor version by Gaem (Another great buy). However, this one has a considerably small screen. That case was huge, with a large screen...but that's not what I needed. I needed something that could fit in my backpack. Being the same size as the slim, it certainly does. Picture great, the sound without head phone is loud and only the slightest little speaker distortion. Most probably use headphones; so, that's okay. With the headphones the sound was great. Hold up to Hori's high quality, very steady and seems long lasting. The best thing is how it just slides on the system, easy on easy off. The only problem I have with it is, when playing for a few hours, my eyes started to hurt a little.

Offers a great portable solution for your PS3 Slim without adding much to its original form factor.

You can carry the system and all your essentials in one of the larger Targus model laptop bags or a backpack.

The Screen is 720p and really good, it features customization options in the menu so you can adjust it to your liking.

This product won't obviously replace your current set-up and it's a very niche product for those that need the portability and/or the small form factor.

In my case I needed both and even then I did find it a bit pricey, but the product didn't disappoint in the end.

Best portable screen I have ever owned, def worth the price tag, it works great on call of duty, nba 2K13. It's really not that small unless u play some games in split screen, I didn't even had problem play FIFA 14 on it, I'm loving this product so I m sure u will be the same.

Heres a little history for you...

I ordered a G155 in the past, and i was very disapointed both in the product quality and in the company's technical support service. That unit had issues with the screen view distance. It was impossible to adjust the view distance correctly. If you viewed it from higher than perfect alignment or lower than perfect alignment, the screen glared up like crazy on the G155, the competing PS3 portable screen unit to this. Furthermore it had water damage which the company was claiming was "fine" because "it had to do with the typhoon in japan, damaging their units" and all they offered was to send it to amazon for a refund, and they wouldnt honor a return from their actual company and said its my problem with amazon. I actually did exchange it, and i had the same issue. they don't respond to emails in a timely manner and don't seem to really care either.

Fast forward to later, i bought this hori screen. right out of the box theres no damage whatsoever, no defects, the viewing angles are great no matter if you are a bit below or a bit higher than the perfect viewing distance. the graphics reach 1080p, not so the case with the g155 which only reached 720p WITH all of the glare issues ontop of it. The G155s screen quality overall was much inferior. overall for around the same price, this is a MUCH better buy than the G155 and i wholeheartedly recommend it if you want to get the closest you can to a portable Playstation 3.

I want to add that no--this will NOT work with the PS3 super slim, or the PS3 fat. it is designed ONLY for the Playstation 3 Slim. theres no chance it will fit anything else as a mounted display, so the only downside is it is fairly proprietary. It will work with other products it just wont mount to anything. However dispite this, it is the best portable screen out there for the PS3 Slim unit in my opinion. 5 stars for Hori.

This game has amazing sprites and backgrounds. Characters are blanced and the action is intense and fast. Its different from Guilty Gear as a whole, but after some practice aspects of the game make it feel guilty gearish. The spirits of Sol and Ky and others really do do live on this new franchise. This game is newb friendly, but unfolds as you learn the tricks of the trade and develops into a complex fighter. This is a must own!!! Its a shame because this game will not be recognized by many gamers. I say try it out and support ARKS...if you own the PS3 version i'll be there :D I main Ragna and Rachael

Get ready for the most technical, combo heavy fighting game in existence. But instead of playing online and wanting to throw your fist through your HD tv when you lose a match, this game will make you stare in awe at how awesome it is. No matter how many times I lost, I never got upset, and kept trying harder and harder to get better with my main character. Now on to the review.

Graphics 10/10 The best looking 2D fighter to ever grace the market, period. Everything is smooth and well rendered, and even the backgrounds and simple animations don't disappoint. You have to see this game in action at the highest resolution, period.

Sound 10/10 Both the English and Japanese dub are amazing, and the little quips that happen mid-fight between two of the story characters is also a nice little touch in immersion. Every sound in this game is amazing, and the soundtrack does not disappoint. If you've played any of the Guilty Gear series, then you know exactly what to expect with this game.

Control 10/10 Blisters. In a good way. I haven't enjoyed playing a game so much since SFA3, and the blisters were a welcome badge of honor. The controls for every character are smooth and responsive and really help to make you never feel cheated when inputing a chain, or combo.

Overrall 10/10 If you're a fighter fan, anime fan, or just love art, buy this game....now. Don't wait, don't think on it. Go down to Gamestop right now and pick this up, immediately, you will not be disappointed.

First let me give praise to what the developers have done here. This game offers some of the most impressive deep gameplay that you can find in a 2d fighter. The game, even though a spin-off of the Guilty Gear series may as well be a GG game. It keeps a similar art style, over the top characters, and general gameplay as its GG counterpart. With that being said I am also going to say that this game isn't for every 2d fighter fan. The extensive possibilities in the gameplay can be a turn off for some and at the same time a thank you to other players. Let me explain.

When you play through arcade mode you may find yourself winning, but once you go online and run across veteran players they will show you how you know absolutely nothing about this game and have a lot of learning to do. This is no button masher. This game requires precise planning, when it comes to combos, strategy, how to atack your opponent, when to attack your opponent, etc. On top of that this game is so fast at times that you don't have much time to think at all. Now these things can either be good news to you or bad news.

For those who are GG veterans, they will probably have a much easier time learning how to play than others. For those who are coming from let's say Street Fighter, they will find themselves in very unfamiliar territory. This is game is not your normal 2d fighter. The combos take a while to learn and master and you aren't going to get any where online unless you learn them. For those who appreciate all of these things I mentioned, you should go out and get this game; for those who are put off by the steep learning curve, well you decide.

I give the game 4 stars because I feel it deserves it. Perfect games deserve perfect ratings and this game falls short of that because it caters to the hard-core. It is not newbie friendly. The bonus tutorial disc is well appreciated, but I can't imagine how lost customers who buy the regular version in the future will be. For those who do buy the limited version, make sure you write down all the combos the tutorial disc gives you. You are gonna need them.

In various previews, honestly, BlazBlue came a bit too strong for me. High-paced fighting accompanied by flashy, in the word's truest sense, super moves only seemed... again, honestly, pretentious. After I thought I'd just burned off $65 on a mediocre, new (for me) fighting IP, I was only to be simply amazed at this astounding video game.

BlazBlue features 12 characters. 12 very different, clearly distinct stylish guys and gals and others. They are not like characters from the King of Fighters, all with different moves stemming out of same semi-/quartercircle + punch/kick commands. To get to know, to be able to play with a character means that you have invested in a fair amount of time. Doing so is necessary for not only playing against other players online but against CPUs in Versus or Arcade Mode.

BlazBlue's initial release package (the Limited Edition), along with the game, includes a bonus Blu-Ray disc and two whole discs of soundtracks. Please, if you're able to appreciate video game music and are going to get this game, don't wait until Standard Editions replace the Limited ones on the store shelf and get it now because as good as the game is, those two discs of soundtracks are a legitimate music album themselves. You want a fighting game music to be on a orchestral, up-class, and royal atmosphere (contrary to SF or KOF or any other conventional fighters before), this is as good as it gets.

Even if you didn't care much for each character's unique move-sets or even the accompanying soundtracks, I want to believe that you, at least, care for what you see. I just cannot say enough for its fantastic visuals colors are full, animations well-executed, effects notably placed. Cel-shading has never been presented at a better level and until the end of the ps3/360 cycle, it is not going to be outdone.

I want to end this short right about at this point, but I have to applaud the U.S. localization team. Well, sure the translations were smooth, but the voice actors and actresses. Watching dubbed animes these days, I guessed the U.S. performers just lost their fire or whatever, but boy was I surprised. From the objective point of view, it is definitely on par with the Japanese dub. I was pleased to be able to enjoy the game without having to toggle the sound to the original recording. Kudos.

BlazBlue is a bar-setting, near-perfect fighter that is, as complicated as it is, even beginner-friendly with its "Easy Specials" utilizing R3 on the ps3 controller. Original SF or KOF fans might feel a little uncomfortable at the characters' slightly different ranges of motion per press, but with time, that's bound to fade.

Actually, if you've been ready (for a long time) to embrace a deep, profound fighter with class and originality, BlazBlue would be the perfect game.

BlazBlue, the spiritual successor to Guilty Gear. Developed by Arc Systemworks, music composed by Daisuke Ishiwatari, original creator of Guilty Gear!

PROS:

Comes with two disc official sound track

DVD containing basic info on Bread and Butter Combos for all 12 characters

HD 2D animation is gorgeous! Can't say this enough, the 2D characters with a 3D background is eye candy. The animation for for Distortion Drives are well drawn. Online mode is superb. The netcode is quite impressive. It offers replays of top players with a rank of 1500 or higher for all characters to download and watch. Playing several hundred matches, even with lag, matches don't disconnect unless your ISP service just drops. Each room supports up to six players, so you can go vs. against several friends or co-workers.

CONS:

Small roster of characters, just 12

Even though the roster isn't that big, each character is unique with their own play style and Drive. No character is a clone of another which adds variety to the cast. I bought this Limited Edition a few months back, and never regretted it once. Best Fighter and new Fighter IP of 2009. Recommend this to anyone who loves 2D fighters or grew up playing them in the arcades.

+Enticing storyline full of philosophy and intrigue

+Fantastic voice acting brings the already fantastic story to life

+Lots of variety in the gameplay

+Great sound effects

+Great music score

+All around beautiful game

+The atmosphere of the game never settles

Cons:

-There's not much in terms of difficulty when you can always respawn

-There may not be enough new content to justify paying sixty dollars if you've already got the 360 version

In 2007 as I'm sure many know, Bioshock was released on the XBOX360. The game went on to become a huge classic and sell over a million copies. Earlier this year, it was announced the game would go to the Playstation 3. At first glance, it may not seem worthwhile to buy the game on the Playstation 3 if you played the 360 version, but some of the additions and enhancements just might change the minds of some gamers.

In the beginning of the game you are an unnamed man who happens to be on a plane that crashes seemingly out in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, however, there is a lighthouse in sight. Once you step inside it is quite clear that this is no ordinary lighthouse and soon you descend in the undersea world of Rapture. Rapture is a totally free society in which no one is ruled by anyone, and it was built by a man named Andrew Ryan. Unfortunately, Rapture is anything but perfect. The once perfect world has now become imperfect and is overrun with splicers who thrive on Adam.

Bioshock has an incredible story that digs much deeper than simply being about a central antagonist and protagonist. In the end it'll make you think. It's a very absorbing game. Even is how it looks. It looked incredible on the XBOX360, but the visual experience is enhanced on the Playstation 3 and it looks even better than it did before. Much of it looks very real. Even better is the artistic design and attention to detail. The atmosphere itself is absorbing as well and really makes the world come alive.

Throughout the city you'll also find recorded radio diaries that give you a good idea of what happened to Rapture. The voice acting in these diaries, and throughout the games various cutscenes is incredible. It really helps anyone become absorbed into the world.

Playing Bioshock is an even better experience. At it's heart it is a first person shooter. You'll find weapons that you can use to take down the splicers. Throughout Rapture you'll also find plasmids which you can use to help you take down certain enemies. Some Plasmids can be used to electrocute splicers, or manipulate others. There's a lot to BioShock's gameplay that makes it interesting. In addition to the weapons and plasmids you can also hack the shopping arcades to lower prices, as well as hack security cameras and gun turrets to help you out against your enemies.

There's nothing incredibly difficult about it's gameplay. It's simple enough. Perhaps a little too simple. Bioshock is not a game where you ever really permanently die. If you happen to die you'll respawn from a Vita-Chamber where you'll be able to go right back up to the enemy that killed you. The enemy's health never changes. So essentially, if you're stuck you can keep respawning until you kill whatever it is giving your trouble. This essentially means BioShock is never too difficult. You may get tired of dying, but you can never die permanently.

What exactly is new in Bioshock on the PS3? Well, the graphics are smoother and you get a new difficulty setting. While the new difficulty is enticing, it doesn't really add too much. The enemies are stronger and you pick up less ammo etc., but it's not really enough to entice anyone who owns the 360 version to really pick this one up. So if you've played one of the previous versions of Bioshock, there isn't really too much here that makes it worth getting again. At least not for the price tag of the game itself.

Bioshock is still an amazing game even a year later. It may not be worth it to buy the PS3 version if you've played the XBOX360 version already, but if you have a PS3 and you haven't played Bioshock yet, it's worth checking out.

How's this for a story? A man becomes annoyed with the current world, a world where the great are taken for granted and told that their toils are either for the people, for God or for the government. In response, he creates a fantastic environment, free from all of these turmoils. A place where all the great men and women of the world can create their own inventions without fear of consequence. In this place, men and women could do what they wanted.

If this sounds like Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, you'd be correct. However, in this particular case, it's also the background story behind Rapture, the under-water city that takes centerplace in Bioshock. Many words have been bandied about about video games and their ability (or inability) to become art; you have folks like Roger Ebert saying the medium as a whole can never attain that goal. My personal thought on this matter was that, as a medium, games haven't made enough strides toward that lofty goal. But Bioshock certainly takes a huge step forward.

Andrew Ryan is a visionary the likes of which his namesake Ayn Rand would possibly write about in Atlas Shrugged. He exemplifies the qualities of a Randian hero and showcases Rand's philosophy of objectivism. He created the city of Rapture and filled it, much like John Galt in Atlas Shrugged, with the visionaries of his land. Rapture soon was a thriving city that emphasized science and growth and the importance of the individual. They dabbled in creating plasmids that changed a person's DNA, enabling them to do feats the likes of which had never been seen before.

Then something happened.

Flying over the Atlantic sea, you are Jack, a person who was destined for greatness, if you ask his parents, and whose plane is now crashing into the sea. Jack is apparently the only survivor of the plane wreck and swims to a lone building, a light house it seems, that beckons him onward. Eventually, he goes into a blathysphere and enters into the world of Rapture. But this isn't the Rapture originally envisioned in the pre-recorded film he watches as he journeys into the city. It is a city comprised of deadly machines, once-human monstrosities named Splicers who are insane and, of course, the Big Daddies and Little Sisters.

Bioshock concerns itself with the gray area between right and wrong. This dichotomy between right and wrong is what fuels everything in Rapture. Roaming the landscape, the Little Sisters are twisted abominations of little girls who locate corpses (which they call "Angels") and harvest Adam from them with a long needle. More grotesque is that bottle at the other end of the needle that the Little Sisters drink from. Dutifully following them are the Big Daddies, giant brutes in ancient diving gear. These...things...are at the heart of the story and Jack's survival depends on them and whether he can harvest the Little Sisters or set them free.

The conscience of the gamer is represented in two mysterious figures, Atlas (another allusion to Rand) and Dr. Tenenbaum. Atlas seemingly wants Jack to save his family and explains that the Little Sisters are anything but the human girls they appear. He nudges Jack to put them out of their misery and take the Adam they harvest so he can survive and save Atlas and his family. On the other shoulder perches Tenenbaum, another mysterious individual who created the Little Sisters and seems to want to do anything possible to save them. They are the obvious angel and devil sitting on Jack's shoulder, but the question is...which one is the angel?

To go into further detail would be to spoil this amazing story. Along the route, twists and turns abound with moral, ethical and philosophical questions aplenty. What's interesting is the way Bioshock presents a stark opposition to Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism. Rand's heroes always contain the same qualities that Andrew Ryan exemplifies. But here, the artists behind Bioshock seem to be questioning these qualities by presenting a situation so familiar to Atlas Shrugged, and yet, so far removed.

It is literate, thoughtful, disturbing and moving. Even if the gameplay didn't live up to the story, Bioshock would be worthy just for this reason.

Luckily, that's not the case. For the gun hungry, sure, Rapture is filled with guns aplenty and even presents opportunities for you to craft your own upgrades. But that is just scratching the surface. Everything goes back to the story. Plasmids are located across the ruined debris of Rapture and contain the keys to recreating your DNA. Some early examples of Plasmids are the ability to shoot electricity from your hands to being able to set things on fire to telekinesis.

But these plasmids aren't only used for fighting. Minor puzzle-solving crops up, some of which require plasmids in the same way as gear in Legend of Zelda. The biggest puzzle is how to take down the game's variety of enemies. While you can definitely charge in, guns blazing and sometimes survive, cases will present themselves where such tactics will end with you on the bad end of the Big Daddies' drill. Instead, you can create your own traps and war zones. Using plasmids, the environment and, of course, your weapons, you can create elaborate traps that will bring a smile to your face.

A lot of games coming out right now that use the Unreal 3 engine don't look as spectacular as they could. In particular, character models tend to look shiny and/or completely ugly. This is not the case with Bioshock. Everything comes together, from the disturbing scenery, the art deco architecture to the the insane creatures and characters populating the world. Shadows and lighting also create a sense of atmosphere that drips heavily, much like the water pouring down the walls. It's stunning. The only complaint (and it is minor) is that the frozen portions you can melt don't look very convincing. When things melt, they don't leave anything behind. The only reason it sticks out is that the rest of the game is absolutely beautiful and amazingly crafted.

None of this would be as effective, though, without superior sound. And Bioshock has that (mostly) in spades. The voice work is stunning throughout and the actors provide a great sense of dread. The audio diaries do an exemplary job of providing the backstory, but also work the best in crafting dread and terror. Some of the most disturbing things occur listening to them. Unfortunately, sometimes the characters' lines are repeated too often, ruining the disturbing nature of their dialogue. Musically, the game is also amazing. It flits into the picture at key moments, increasing the tension before it will flow away. You might not even notice it's there, but that's why it's so good.

You know, the funny thing about hype is how people react to it. Game journalists can go blue in the face trying to get people interested in forgotten gems such as Psychonauts, Beyond Good & Evil and Stranger's Wrath, and since they weren't financially successful they become these gems. When a game sells incredibly well and is hyped to the max (both of which fit Bioshock), people say "over-rated."

Ignore the hype machine. I know you're tired of hearing about it. But give Bioshock a try, if you haven't yet. Download the demo for your PC or try it on the Playstation 3 Network. It is a game that's definitely worth everything that's been said about it and more.

It is art. And no words by ignorant movie critics will change that.

For awhile, Bioshock was the clincher when it came down to next-gen consoles. With only money and room for one, I had to choose which system to get so when it was announced the highly acclaimed game was being released to the Playstation 3, well I was sold. Not only being able to play multiplatform games but also some solid exclusives, the important thing was that I had to play this. A game that gets this much praise has got to end up disappointing considering the hype, not only from press and critics but my own anticipation, right? Well wrong as this is one of the most captivating games I've played recently and whether you got an Xbox 360 or a PS3 (keyword being "or"), Bioshock's a must-play.

Story: In the mid 1940's, an ambitious man named Andrew Ryan got fed up with the bureaucrats, politicians and religious leaders trying to see who can control the populace with the most restrictions from medical experiments to freedom of speech. So he secretly created the world of Rapture, a vast city found underwater. In 1960, an unnamed man travelling on a plane finds himself the sole survivor when the plane crashes in the middle of the ocean. Swimming to a nearby lighthouse, he accesses a bathysphere which takes him to Rapture only instead of finding a thriving city, it's in disarray and strange folk genetically modified roam the halls. You have to work your way through the city and discover why the idyllic city has failed.

Graphics: There's certain games that really make you feel a part of the world as opposed to just controlling someone on the screen and like games such as Dead Space, Resident Evil 4 or more serene landscapes such as Shadow of the Colossus, Bioshock is another game that, without fear of sounding cheesy, really transports you to another time and place. The art design, attention to detail and a genuine realism really get you thinking you're in this city under the sea. Fantastic water effects and a feel recreating the old 1940's complete with neon graphics, old-school advertisements not to mention the views outside the windows, this is definately one to HDTV.

Sound/Music: Another important part of the game's immersion is the sound design which has all the requisite noises of a place that's been decimated: groans, distant rumblins and things busting out of nowhere, the sound helps create an unnerving atmosphere. It's not necessarily scary but it certainly keeps you on your toes. Also welcome is the voice acting though the 2 main speakers seems to be Andrew Ryan (portrayed by Armin Shimerman, Quark from "Star Trek" and the first Principal on "Buffy") and Atlas, your CODEC so to speak. The Splicers, the genetically modified residents of Rapture, also have strange ramblings and makes them be set apart from just the screeching of other enemies.

Gameplay: Essentially this is a FPS though don't think that's all it is. The key with Bioshock is variety and it's surprising how much combat strategies you can develop on the fly. Basically, your fighting is separated into 2 methods: typical gun stuff like pistols, shotguns, grenade launchers etc while the other is the "Plasmids", a medical breakthrough involving genetic experimentation, which allows you different abilities. Use Incinerate to light your foes on fire or find an oil spot on the floor and burn that when they're standing on it for even more burnage. Also, say you light him/her on fire and you think they're going to want to find a water source right? Well thanks to Rapture getting the occasional leak, they're not too far so if they've gone for a bit of a swim, just use your electricity and shock the water. There's others as well such as using your telekinesis to grab grenades and bombs in mid-air and toss em back or reposition traps to your advantage. There's more to be found and approaching combat as never been so...fun.

Don't think that's the end of it though as occasionally you'll be seen by a camera, sending in flying armed drones. Sure it's easy to just blow them up but why not hack them using a pipe-based minigame (tedious but works well enough) to make your own personal bodyguards? Or hack a turret and you can even hack health stations in case enemies want to cure themselves only to find because you've hacked it that it makes things worse for them. Hacking ammo, item and inventing "jukeboxes" will also decrease the amount of money you have to pay which is a definate plus. Only thing is the pipe minigame where you have to make water flow from one part to the other using different panel forms grows kind of tiresome and there's even some where I ran out of pieces or room to move thanks to dead-ends.

All of this will come into use when you hear a roar nearby and you know one thing: a Big Daddy is near. Walking around the hallways is a big dude in diving gear (dude on the cover) protecting a girl called the Little Sister who has in her body ADAM, the genetic material vital to Rapture. In order to get it you have to kill the protector and this bugger is as tough as he sounds. Thankfully with the turrets and bodyguard drones (which admittedly don't last long) to using Enrage on nearby enemies which will actually attack him instead of you, eventually you'll defeat him. Only thing is that you have to do it in stages since you'll frequently die though thankfully nearby Vita-Chambers spawn you back in with his health where you last left off thereby not negating all that hard work. Makes the game easy sure but on the other hand, it never becomes frustrating and you can just play and play and not worrying about hitting dead ends.

That's one thing to be aware of with this game as well: it's rather addicting and it's one of those games where you might look at the clock and go "well I can afford to play a bit more, it's only a simple objective anyway" only to find out it's 4 AM and needing to get to bed. I was that hooked and despite its hefty 5 Gig install which is strangely shorter than Devil May Cry 4's 20 minute one which lasts 10 minutes or so, Bioshock is definately a game to get for your Playstation 3. As for people who already have the 360 version, well unless you're that into the game, you don't really have to bother but for non-360 owners like myself or people who never played it than definately go for it.

I don't think that I can possibly say how much fun this game is so far. I'm well into the 10 hour plus mark of Bioshock and time is flying by.

The story is that your plane crashes in the middle of the Atlantic and you discover a secret society where something has gone horribly wrong. That's the fun part. You get to explore this entire underwater utopia where lots of things want to kill you. And it's set in 1960 so the art and technology pays homage to the 50's.

This is the PS3 version. I know that there are 2 other versions for the Xbox 360 and the PC. However this is the only one that I have played. So I can't compare this to either of the other two versions. Regardless, I'm blown away by the graphical detail and the sound. There's always some noise in the background where you know there's some creepy enemy doing something but you haven't found them yet. Or they haven't found you yet.... It's a fun FPS but with a lot more story than most and a bit more thinking.

Buy this! Much much fun.

I will put it simply: If you only get one game for the rest of your life, Bioshock should be it. This game simply Amazes you: it has possibly the most intriguing plot that is fit for an oscar movie. The visuals too will constantly amaze, from finely detailed industrial structures to the many weapon models (everything from machine guns to whale harpoons) . The gameplay is truly great, very good controls and the ability to basically use and throw almost everything in the game environement. Bioshock is one of those monumental experiences you'll never forget, and the benchmark against which games for years to come will, and indeed must, be measured. It is no wonder that Bioshock is the highest rated game by all the video game press today, right up there with GTA IV.

Supremacy MMA is first and foremost a fighting game, NOT an MMA simulator like UFC and EA Sports MMA. I recently got this game a few weeks ago and it is a blast to play once you LEARN the mechanics. I see a lot of reviews for this game just bashing on the fighting system and I can tell right now those reviewers pretty much turned it on, played a few fights, lost because they couldn't get the timing down right and just decided the game was horrible. I'm here to tell you right now that if you invest the time and actually learn the system the game is a lot of fun. There are a total of 14 fighters in the game.

The Bad:

Straight off the bat I will say one of the glaring weaknesses in the game are the inclusion of the two female fighters. While they are two fighters the only people they can fight with are themselves. You cannot have them fight against the male fighters. Not only are they nothing but small novelties in the game the sting of knowing the fact that it was a huge missed opportunity really hurts. So after all is said and done there really are 12 fighters in the game, which leads to my next small gripe about the game.

Even though there are twelve fighters, a two of them are actually clones of each other leaving you with 'only' 10 fighting styles.

The Good:

While there are 'only' 10 fighting styles in the game I have to say each style does play pretty different. For instance, you have the kick boxers that specialize in combos, you also have karate practitioners who specialize in counter attacking, and boxers who have fast attacks and use angles to dodge and counter their opponents just to name a few. And this is where Supremacy MMA really shines. Every fighter has both advantages and disadvantages. It's these things that help determine exactly how you will play your character. If you're a boxer, you will try to out punch a wrestler and avoid their take downs at all costs while the wrestler will have to find a way to close the gap and take down the boxer and hopefully grind them out on the ground. Each style of fighting plays different and you have to find a way to force your opponent into fighting the fight you have an advantage in.

Melee attacks are assigned to the square and triangle buttons performing punching and kicking respectively. Holding up or down while pressing these buttons will change the elevation of these attacks. The X button is used to clinch. Holding up or down during an attempt to clinch will also change the level of the clinch you put your opponent in. Blocking is handled by holding up or down on the analog stick depending on the level of the attack in any position whether it's standing, in a clinch, or on the ground. The circle button is used for parrying. This is where the game play gets interesting. Just about any attack in the game can be parried. You can stop an opponent from any attack, clinch attempt, throw, or submission attempt BUT the timing for each is different. Some parried attacks will leave your opponent open for a vicious attack or a submission attempt depending on your fighter's play style. Sure you can try blocking some of the melee attacks but holding the analog stick up or down will just leave you vulnerable to submission attempts or throws.

The submission game is also a little interesting. Once the submission is executed both players will have to wiggle the Right Stick to either complete the submission attack or escape it. A meter is filled as you wiggle the Right Stick. THIS is where a lot of reviewers give this game a lot of flack. What they didn't understand is 'adrenaline' can be used to complete or escape out of a submission hold. There is a meter under the life bar that builds up as you attack or parry. When in a submission attempt or escape the player has the option to press L1 to use some adrenaline to help them. By pressing the L1 button you get a 50% increase in submission meter to help you escape or complete the submission attempt faster. No adrenaline? Then you're out of luck and you'll have to rely on the wiggle of the Right Stick only. Hitting the X button is also the same as wiggling the Right Stick, by the wayanother thing a lot of reviewers have also missed.

At any time, as long as you have some adrenaline in your meter you can hit the L2 and R2 buttons together and go into adrenaline mode. In adrenaline mode your fighter gets an increase in attack strength, an increase in defense, and a wider window for parries. If any of your opponent's body part is red and they have no energy left AND you attack that part of the body to finish them off while in adrenaline mode you get to see a slow motion, more emphasized knockout or if its an arm or leg submission a slow motion bone break. While these animations are cool. The novelty does wear off if you're playing alone but is whole lot fun to watch if you're playing with a bunch of friends.

As you guys can see, there is a method to the madness in the fighting engine. Each aspect was well thought out and implemented. Mashing buttons in this game will not get you anywhere. As a matter fact when I play my buddies, button mashing leads to defeat 99% of the time.

There are quite a few options the game gives you when you are playing by yourself. You get the 'play it now' mode where you just jump in and pick your fighter and pick an opponent and just fight. There's the survival mode and battle royal modes. Finally, there's the Supremacy Stories mode which you pick one fighter and play through their storyline. The stories take you through a series of fights and gives you a back story on each fighter. These stories are presented through animated 2D cut scenes that are done very well. I am impressed with the art style they used to show these scenes and some of the stories are just downright depressing. You have a story of a fighter who has drug problems to a fighter who is just looking for his brother. These Supremacy Stories are definitely worth playing through at least once. There's also the basic online mode however, there just isn't anyone online playing this game at this point. Buy the game and give it a try, people! =P

Now, we have the multiplayer aspect of this game. While the single modes will last you quite a bit it's playing against your friends where the game is really fun. Me and a few buddies have been gathering together about once a week to play this game and it is surprisingly fun. Nothing can match having a human opponent next to you where you can verbally interact with while punching his face in or breaking his arm in half.

Lastly, I want to talk about the tutorial mode or lack thereof. While there is a training mode the tutorial mode is horrible. The help it gives you is virtually non existent. With training mode, however you will be able to learn some moves. The best way to learn the game, though is to just go to play it now and jump in the fire and learn the aspects of the game play. Trust me, while you may suffer a lot of losses you will learn the game and get a lot of enjoyment out of it. It took me a bunch of losses to finally learn the parrying aspects of the game and the properties of each attack but it was worth it. If you invest the time the enjoyment you will get out of the fighting engine will be immense.

With 10 different fighting styles to learn and master, a slew of single player modes, and the endless fun in fighting your friends, I highly recommend this game. It's easy for reviewers to give this game a poor score. I can tell all they did was pop it in for a few rounds and just wrote the game off as a terrible one. What I'm saying is give this game at least a try and really legitimately put the effort into learning the system. At a budget price you will be surprised at how much this game has to offer.

Original review from MetalArcade.net

MMA has been steadily growing in popularity for years. It's basically about as popular now as pro wrestling was back in the late 90's. Although these days it's mostly known because of the UFC, it started long before that in unsanctioned, underground bouts. Supremacy MMA aims to recreate that visceral experience, rather than the more straight-laced fights of the UFC (where most opponents hug each other until the clock runs out). Does it succeed? Mostly.

Supremacy MMA embraces brutality. Compared to, say, UFC Undisputed 2010, the fights are faster paced, and every move hits with a satisfying, bone-crunching thud. The fights happen mostly in underground warehouses, strip clubs, bars, etc. The entire soundtrack consists of licensed metal songs from bands like Periphery, Emmure, and Bury Your Dead (with vocals removed). Fighter's faces bruise, swell and gush blood with enough punishment. You can break opponents' bones, and even seemingly kill them. In fact, this game feels more like the recent Mortal Kombat than any UFC game I've played.

The game has a good amount of MMA stars like Jens Pulver, Shane Del Rosario, and Malaipet "The Diamond" Sasiprapa. You can play as any of them in the Story mode, where everyone has a made-up, movie-like narrative that ties the fighters together. The game even features female fighters Felice Herrig and Michele "Diablita" Gutierrez. The only catch is that the two females can only fight against each other, and thus their story mode is very short. Also, they can't be leveled up like the other fighters can. There's also challenges and an online mode.

All the fighters and their styles, like Muay Thai, Karate and Judo, are pretty well represented, and the graphics are good. The animation can be a bit stiff and jerky at times, but it's mostly forgivable. As I said before, this game features an exaggerated representation of the sport, with a much more arcadey feel. At times it even reminded me of the old Virtua Fighter arcade games.

The brutality of the combat can be fun, but it can also be very frustrating. It's mandatory that you complete the tutorial, or you'll have no clue what's going on. It's certainly not a button masher. One thing that really bothered me about the game is that a button prompt will appear by your character's health meter, indicating when to reverse. This is a terrible design flaw, as I spent most of my time in matches staring at the corner of my screen rather than watching the actual fight. If they had made the button prompt appear right in the center of the screen, this game would be much more playableperhaps a patch could fix this. Also, if you are mounted by an opponent, particularly online, that's pretty much the end of the match. No matter what I tried, in online fights I could not change positions. Speaking of online, it's pretty much a ghost town right now. And it lags like crazy most of the time. I tried playing a few fights, and I had to wait up to five minutes to get someone to join. Most times, it ended up being the same guy, and we'd mash buttons as our characters lagged insanely, creating the illusion of a fight fight from Team America: World Police.

Still, the game has enough of a unique brutality and fun factor to make it worth your money if you're a fan of the genre. It takes a bit of practice and getting used to, but Supremacy MMA can definitely be fun when you're in a bone-breaking mood.

First off, this is an arcade style fighting game. It is not meant to be a fighting sim like EA MMA or UFC Undisputed. That being said this game is awesome. When I first played the demo I was expecting a game that was similar to all the other mma games that I had played, but it was very different and I was a bit bummed. After giving the game some time and figuring out how it controlled and how to play it, it turned out to be a lot of fun. It doesn't take that long to get a hang of the game. The graphics are pretty good and the artwork in the game is pretty legit. I like the style and pace of this game. Each fighter has their own abilities, strengths and weaknesses. It is kinda like street fighter in that sense. The ground fighting is very simple and fun and you can pull off submissions and what not. Overall I have a lot more fun playing this than I do EA MMA. It is a lot more fast paced and energized and the load times are very short so you get to spend more time playing the game. I would say download the demo on PS3 and try it out for a while until you can beat the computer and figure out the game to decide if you like it or not. I for one, love it. =)

first of all I was excited for this game I had High hopes for this game I pre-ordered this game and usually a game pre-ordered ships a day early or at least on release date but this game shipped a few days after release date so I didn't get the game right away. so I was really anxious for this game. But this game let me down BiG time and I wish i didn't buy it should of definitely rented the game This game is so cheap and overpriced this game should be only worth 20$ at the most. lets start with the most discouraging tbere is no create a player mode most games now a days have create mode. lets just say that this game could of been big 5 maybe 10 years ago but we already had 3 really awesome mma games UFC 1 and 2 and EA MMA are really good MMA games. when promoting the game they said they were going to have a lot of fighters Not true there is not that many fighters in this game 2 kick boxers 2 muay thai 1 karate 1 savate 2 boxing 1 jui jistu 1 wrestler. so there are only about 10 fighters which is ridiculous plus 2 girls so 12 fighters and that was another thing they built up was the women fighters and there are only 2 women.. The guy who posted the first comment says that this game actually requires skill there is no skill involved in this game it is a button mashing arcade game which is where it belongs in an arcade it would of been more impressive if it was a downloadable game off of psnetwork then i wouldn't of expected as much. there isn't much to the game and even though i named all those styles of fighting there isn't much difference between them the game that does the best on fighting styles is EA MMA but the fighting engine and contolling is better on UFC both of those games have their strengths and Superemecy mma has nothing but weaknesses also each character has it's own storyline but they are short the men's are only 4 fights long and women's only 2 fights long which sucks.

wow i thought these would be good but theyre simply stunning for 60 dollars. the bass on these little cans is great especially with songs like dazed and confused by led zeppelin or loser by beck. mostly though ive played battlefield 3 on it and it sounds almost as good as my sony pulse headphones. very high fidelity drivers make speech and low end bass very clear as well as the mid range for guitar and gaming. overall THIS HEADSET IS BADASS end of discussion!

After reading reviews all over the net and just by looking at how nice the headset looks, I was sold. And I was not disappointed, they look great and feel great! The sound quality is amazing besides a slight and faint humming when no sound is running through them (on PS3 only, no humming on PC). What I love about them is that they can be used for calls on a cell phone or video calls and the microphone works great!! The detachable mic is a little hard to get used to (locking them in) so READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before trying to jam them in. Overall a great headphone really up my game in MW3 S&D(you can hear footsteps, defuses, ect.). Overall awesome headset for price!

I bought this headset in December when it first came out from Walmart. I used this headset for Call of duty and Battlefield and it sounds amazing! Everything sounds crisp and clean and u can hear footsteps of other players. It has volume control so u can control party chat and game volume. ALso it can be plugged into your mobile device. I never tried it though. I have two problems with this headset. It does not fit very well. I wear glasses and earrings. Whenever i put this headset on i have to take out my earrings (studs not hoops). Whenever i play for more than an hour it starts to hurt a little. The second issue is durability. I took extreme care of my headset but the left side went out with 6 months.I never dropped or unplugged wire. I was really disappointed when it broke because for the price its a great headset. Thankfully i got the 2 year coverage and they reimbursed me what i paid for it. I defintley recommend this headset if ur looking to have a better gaming experience and save some money. I also recommend any extended warranty because headphones and headsets are so delicate.

The Kunai provides some excellent sound quality very comparable to my regular Sony MDR-V6. I have absolutely no complaints with the sound or voice quality, and the inline volume controls are very functional. Got these on sale for $40 and, even with all that good stuff I just mentioned, these are still barely worth the price for how exceedingly uncomfortable they are to actually wear.

1. The cups are made for people with ears the size of walnuts. Don't ignore all the reviews who have said this before me and certainly don't ignore it now that I'm pointing it out again. They will not fit around your ears; they will pin your ears down and put constant pressure on your head as long as you're wearing them.

2. While the cups do pivot 90 degrees, the only pivot 90 degrees in one direction. and it's the wrong direction backwards. This means that you're forced to have the headphones sit towards the back of your head and constantly readjust the position for it to be anything resembling comfortable.

3. The cable setup is a huge inconvenience. You are required to a) plug the headphones into the inline control, which feeds into the b) USB connection that goes into your PS3, but then you also need to c) plug the other end of the headphones into the audio splitter that then d) needs to be connected to your PS3. The audio cable of the headphones themselves is too short for anything other than holding its connected device right in front of your face, too.

So, basically, excellent sound and voice quality at a great value that's stuck inside headphones that are too small with an inconvenient setup. Just barely worth the $40. Just. Barely.

I don't quite know how to describe how great this game really is...I just sat down for 15 hours straight and couldn't put the controller down until the end of the credits. This game combines everything and anything you could ever want in a movie, a game or any entertainment experience. Uncharted 2 has incredible characters, wonderful story, some of the best acting I've ever seen (Not just the voice acting, but the actual animations of the characters, their facial expressions), everything is done so beautifully I'm absolutely speechless. Among Thieves exceeded the hype in my mind, it immerses you in this incredibly detailed and lush environment, seamlessly bouncing you back and forth from gameplay to breathtaking cinematic wonder, and most often, combines them both at the same time. Just the attention to detail is astounding. I wish I had a better vocabulary so I could give this review justice but you should just see for yourself! You will not regret this purchase one bit, the multiplayer is even fun! If you own a PS3 and don't have this game, then you should sell your PS3.

I'm sure if you're reading this you've already read countless other reviews praising the game for it's superb voice acting, mind blowing graphics, wonderful story telling, and it's riveting gameplay. I'm only writing this to enforce all of these things and hopefully tip you over the fence into buying this game immediately. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves contains almost every element that was in the first and improves upon it. For those of you who haven't played the first game it is essentially Gears of War meets Tomb Raider + Awesomeness all rolled into one. For those of you who did play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune you're all too aware of how short the first game was and I'm pleased to tell you that this game is substantially worth it. Not only does it last about 3-4 hours longer buy it features something to do when you're done, multiplayer. The multiplayer is essentially what you'd expect from Call of Duty 4 with and a 3rd person twist and several unique modes to shake up the formula. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is like buying a three entree plate from Panda Express. It leaves you completely full and satisfied and although you'd happily enjoy another serving of Orange Chicken you can leave the restaurant knowing you got what you paid for. Buy this game and enjoy it because although it's built upon the qualities of other games, there's really nothing out there quite like it.

I promise to make this 100% Spoiler free, but I must say that after experiencing that which is Uncharted 2, this game is pretty solid indeed. If you enjoyed the first Uncharted then this one will be an extremely enjoyable experience. This game lasts more than 2-4 hours longer than the previous one, tops the cake for having some of the best cinematics, graphics, and sound experience offered on the PS3.

One of the features that I was a bit weary about was the multiplayer because I do not really consider myself a multiplayer fan, however, I must say that that which is in Uncharted 2 is enough to last those who just like multiplayer games a long time. There doesnt seem to be anyway to do offline multiplayer however, for an experience online (with up to 3 player co-op), and about 10 people in the deathmatch modes, there is little to crave. It seems that they developed an amazing Single player experience and added a great multiplayer experience.

Ultimately, with a heartpounding action packed story, a landmark presentation value, and exciting multiplayer and single player modes, I can not really find anything to criticize the game for. (well perhaps the most criticism would be the amount of logo's on the back of the boxart, or even the at times difficulty of AI).

One more thing, the game has trophy support, headset support, (upcoming twitter support), a multiplayer shop system (to buy skins, and boosts), future DLC, and unlockables.

Please add this game to your PS3 library.

It's been a couple of weeks since the bomb that is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has dropped. Did you get caught in its blast? Or have you avoided its fallout? If you have then I say what the hell are you waiting for?? Go get contaminated!

It's not all the time a game like Uncharted 2 comes around. A game that will say hello to you, then grab you by the neck and slam you around the room a few times, stop, then kiss you a bit and get you all emotionally connected only to take your lips 2 minutes later and tuck them between your legs and pull them up over your ass so fast it'll make your head spin right off your neck. Ok, so that won't literally happen, but if you were to take that energy, passion, climactic intensity, and overall jaw dropping action and crush it all up into one neat little ball of beauty, power, and downright coolness, then you my friend might as well call that little ball Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

You should know the story by now. You're the hero, who goes on a journey of personal fulfillment, only to find yourself in a situation where you have to save to world. It may sound big scale because it is. The way the game starts equals that of most Hollywood blockbusters. And know, that it does not let up.

From start to finish all you will find yourself doing is sitting on the edge of your seat wanting more and more. It has been said that this is not a game, but more like an interactive movie. The nail couldn't have been hit more dead on. The way the story rolls with sequences that take control for seconds at a time and are so fluid you don't even realize you're back in control of the character are amazing to watch. The timing of the action, the dialogue, the scenery, there is absolutely nothing small about this game and it let's you know that with every shoot out, car explosion and helicopter chase. The level of detail from a murky jungle to the ruins of a lost city, would be done no justice by explaining them with nothing but simple words. The character designs, not just the way they look, but their attitudes, their demeanor, the way they act and the things they do, all will leave you loving, hating, laughing and mourning with every step they take, every thing they do and every word they say.

There are moments where you're hurt and can't run at full speed. Moments where you'll be dragging someone around and you feel it in the way you walk, you feel the tense moments of trying to shoot someone with your one free hand. It's almost as if the people of Naughty Dog sat down and asked what would be the most over the top things to experience in a game? And amazingly, without a lack of polish, or quality, they managed to have you saying "no effing way, did that just happen?!" over and over again.

Now, being over the top is not necessarily a good thing. But when it's scripted moments that when thought about, you can actually see happening in the given situation, then over the top is definitely a good thing. Thinking realistically, the outcome may not always be the hero coming out unscathed, but then again, like I said, this is a Hollywood blockbuster type game. So don't expect anything less.

Now, as far as negatives go. It really is hard to sit and look for something bad in something so good. But being on the last leg of my second playthrough of this averaged 10-12 hour game, I can honestly say there is almost nothing I can point out and say this is a flaw. I'd love to sit here and say there is but there really isn't. The only solitary thing I noticed on my second playthrough is the issue of trying to take cover on a wall when it is right next to another wall. The proximity of the two walls make it a little difficult to attach yourself to the one you want to if you're not looking at it at the right angle and it can leave you open for a serious hurting at the wrong time. But like I said, that was noticed on my second playthrough so it's not even really a problem or issue, more of a gripe. Other than that there are people who will nit pick and say something wasn't rendered right or say that's B.S., that can't ever really happen, but when it comes down to it, as far as gameplay, mechanics, background environments, and story go, this package is virtually flawless. The flaws of the first game have been fixed and improved upon, the animation is on point and like I said, the characters make you feel like you know them. I can promise you, if you enjoy playing video games, and enjoy a story driven experience then there is nothing that will stop you from loving this game.

Now, as far as multiplayer goes, I've given my impressions on it before. You can find it here: . And it all still stands. The multiplayer mode of this single player monster was always worried about. But in the end it turned out to be a solid piece of work that surprised a lot of people. It's fun, it's addicting, easy to get used to and full of things to unlock and use. It captures the essence of the single player experience amazingly well and you can't help but feel like you walked out of the store buying 2 games for the price of 1. The only problem with the multiplayer is that more than likely, by the time you read this, a monstrous behemoth of the multiplayer world known as Modern Warfare 2 would have came out. And no matter how amazingly great the multiplayer of Uncharted 2 is, there are few that will be able to contend with the likes of what Infinity Ward is going to bring to the online table. And it's because of that fact this aspect of the game will be considered a lost gem for online players in the near future.

Ok. You've seen the videos, you've read the reviews, and heard the praise. I'm telling you nothing different. Since day one I've had the pleasure of enjoying Uncharted 2 and couldn't be happier. I know this is more of a commercial than a review but it is so hard not to love this game, and even harder to find something wrong with it. Everything I've said is as close to the truth as I know it. There are honestly no games out there that I can say I've completed and not 5 minutes later, started all over again just for fun. The replay value is grand with 100 collectible treasures cleverly scattered throughout the game. Trophies with matching in-game medals that will net you money to spend on their little storefront where you can buy behind the scenes movies, and various items that you can use and apply to a very robust multiplayer if Modern Warfare 2 isn't your thing.

All in all Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is thee must buy for any Playstation 3 owner. Sure, you can rent it, just be warned that by the time you finish it, or maybe even start it, you're going to be wishing you didn't have to send it back and that it was all yours to play whenever you want. This is what gaming is all about. This is why I have a passion for my hobby. And it is the reason why I love my PS3 again.

On my rating scale, I give this experience a stunning:

5 Water Bottles Full of Pee, out of 5.... (that scale should be self explanatory)

Want Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Discount?

This is one of those games that will keep you glued to your TV for hours until you manage to beat it or your bladder explodes, whatever happens first.

Right from the start it will submerge you into its world of friendship, adventure, action, betrayal, mystery, and love. The heroes are so likable that you wish they were real so you could go have a beer with them.

But the story is not the only thing that shines, the graphics are just breath-taking and the controls are very responsive. This time around I enjoyed the stealth sections.

And I'm only talking about the single-player campaign. I was afraid multiplayer would be an after-thought, yet the Dogs managed to create a very solid and entertaining experience, not to mention addictive.

But enough blah blah blah, if you like great games get off your chair right now and go buy it!... You're welcome :)

This is my first fight stick purchase. I have been playing fighting games for years and I finally decided to shell out the money and get one. I have visited many message boards figuring out which fighting sticks were the best and most affordable. I discovered that this one( Mad Catz) and the Hori fighting sticks were the best for affordability and performance. I picked the Mad Catz one because it has a storage device for the 12ft wire right in the back of the base, and also the nice art work on it.

The performance is spectacular. I have always used the d-pad on a controller for fighting games so i was skeptical switching to a analog stick and 2 rows of 8 buttons, plus the fact that I would have to spend $130 to find out if i liked it or not. It did take time getting used to. I spent a good 2 days getting used to the button layout.Other than adapting to the button layout I am not disappointed at all. This stick is worth all $130.

The cable length is perfect and more than enough. The fight stick itself is light and I usually just place it on my lap. The buttons are really responsive. I mean I barely touch the buttons and I can perform a move. The analog stick is great. The stick is really responsive as well. All I can say is that the fight stick screams precision. Every move, combo, can be pulled off with precision with little to no error. I play Street Fighter for ours and my hands dont get tired or start hurting. When using the PS3 controller my hands would get cramped. No cramping has occurred when using the fight stick, and I have had it since March 12.Arcade sticks can be fully customized and Mad Catz Fight sticks are one of the most fully customizable when it comes to replacing parts and the artwork.

I fully recommend this Fight Stick for first time buyers like me who are looking into buying one. Put all worries aside. This stick is great for upping your game. This Fight stick will make you play better period. Its so much more responsive than a normal controller and now I can see this is how fighting games were meant to be played. Worth every penny.

This new Super Street Fighter IV Fight Stick TE is really nice. Same as the previous TE sticks with some tweaks to the exterior and interior as well. Supposedly there is an update to the PCB board, but I'm not sure if it actually improves over the last stick, since there were no complaints.

You get full Sanwa (Joystick & Buttons) and the cover art is slick! The actual footprint isn't as large as I thought it would be, but it is just right. It also has a good weight and doesn't move around, even when on your lap. I can pull off moves that I was not able to do with the SE stick. These TE sticks, new and old, are the best sticks available in my opinion.

Cons:

The bezel from the previous generation sticks is absent in this one, leaving a hard edge corner that gets irritating after a while. It looks a little cheap since the corners are exposed and you can lift it up just with a finger. My hands rest right on this corner, which makes me wonder if the 1st gen stick would have been a better choice. Other wise, I would have gave it 5 stars.

Overall:

The current price for this is a little more than the 1st gen TE sticks. If that is still the case when you buy, I'd suggest going with the 1st gen.

All Sanwa parts (lever & buttons) so it's insanely sensitive (a good thing for fighting games). Heavy enough so it won't move around (I prefer to use it on a flat surface rather then in my lap). Cable compartment's a bit tight (just like the previous TE's) but no issues. This is hands the best mass produced joystick (as well as the previous TE's) on the market & yes, I've tried/owned quite a few of them including the HRAP 3 SA (surface area's too small for my big hands) & also less hollow.

If you've never played on a stick before, this stick is as good an intro to one as you'll get. Its very responsive, and the moves come out easily. Offline, the pad can't beat it for sensitivity and response in my opinion.Overall it does what its suppose to, plus to boot the artwork is great.

However, since you've probably been playing on a pad for most of your life, and special moves on the pad are second nature, you're probably going to get a little frustrated playing with the stick against live opponents due to the fact that you will likely find yourself consciously thinking about how to execute moves on the stick during the game. This leaves less brain power for strategy, which means more losses.

In fact, you will almost definitely lose games that you would otherwise have won hands down with the pad, but due to a missed move, or a missed combo while using the stick, you lose an opportunity and then things go wrong. So again, definitely expect to lose a little bit more than usual, especially against a similar level of competition as yourself. Much lesser competition you'll probably still win against with the stick

However, when you do get good with it, you'll realize that some moves are easier and more reliably executed, especially ultras and DP motions. Having all 6 buttons laid out is also very nice. It makes it much easier to press two buttons at a time for EX moves, throws etc.

My only problem with the stick is its ease of modding. I switched the ball top out for a bat top, because my fingers are long and the ball top made the stick too short. The bat top is much nicer for people with larger hands. Anyways, opening the top panel in order to do the mod requires much more effort that it should be necessary. After undoing the 6 hex screws on the top, you will find that the panel is glued extremely tightly to the base. I literally cut myself on the edge of the faceplate trying to lift it up. It really is stuck down tightly. On the other hand, the original TE had a faceplate surrounded by a bezel. Unscrew faceplate and lift. No glue. For this reason only, the previous TE's are the better sticks because the internal parts and overall quality of those sticks are identical to this new one.

I also tried the octagonal restrictor plate, but honestly, the square gate, at least for me is better. I main Ryu and have no problems with fireballs whatsoever. Overall, an excellent stick, and if you don't have to mod it, will suit a beginner or professional quite fine.

EDIT

Recently got my hands on the discontinued Hori Real Arcade Pro 3-SA. The Hori is the better stick.

1)More finger friendly button placement

2)Face is slanted towards you (arcade style) instead of flat.

3)Shaft of these particular Sanwa joysticks is longer. Not by much but noticeable for people with longer fingers

I recently had an issue with a Hori Fighting Stick 3 I had purchased almost 2 months ago and I was initially looking to order a Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 Premium VLX at the $300 price tag. On shopping around, I found this stick for $130 and for a nice stick with full Sanwa parts, it was quite a good deal for me as I had a fighting game party the day after ordering it. This and a savings of $170 from skipping the Hori Real Arcade Pro Premium VLX was quite a bargain.

The stick is great for my needs for a few reasons:

1) The use of the Taito Vewlix button layout has helped me play a little more consistently. This is due to the fact that with my former Hori stick, the former stock Hori layout would cramp up my fingers pretty badly. The transition to this new layout has allowed me to play for longer without pain. The Vewlix position for the buttons is much more natural to the angle of the hands.

2) The Sanwa parts are really nice and just have so much precision versus how the Hori stick was. For purist of the arcade experience, it's perfect as it's almost exactly like having pieces of the Japanese Taito Vewlix cabinet in your home.

3) For a little less than the new "mid-range" Hori Vewlix stick (Real Arcade Pro v3 SA) or less than half (Real Arcade Pro 3 Premium VLX), it's a great "upgrade") if you like arcade games from fighting games to scrolling shooters.

Either during the processing at Amazon or the shipping though Fed Ex that disconnected a wire on one of the buttons. I hope that in the future Amazon could flag arcade sticks as fragile as a casual consumer would have thought the stick was defective. It was easy to fix the problem, so I am still very happy with my purchase.

For those who have concerns over the sharp edge of the plastic art sheet on the arcade stick... Art Hong of the Shoryuken community has found out that under the plastic overlay, the stick is just like a standard Mad Catz tournament edition stick just without the rounded bezel. This gives you all 3 choices: You could take take the plastic sheet, paint the metal plate, and call it done. You can buy a Mad Catz colored bezel for $15 and either paint the metal plate or get a custom cut plexiglass sheet (from Art for example) to put on top of the metal plate. The other choice is a full plexiglass replacement from Art's website () that looks like it will fit flush with the arcade stick and replace the metal plate. This gives you plenty of options for making the stick comfortable for your uses.

I bought this over the Capcom MotoGP series after checking out some GameSpot reviews. Couldn't be more pleased. After getting wet with this game I went ahead and downloaded a demo of MotoGP. It had a pretty clunky feel to it, from controls to animation. Maybe THQ needs to buy back that franchise. Everyone dogs the tutorials for this game but when it comes down to it, you really just need to pound out 2 or 3 hours and it all starts to sink in. Upon installation I immediately shut off all the aids, but eventually went back to having a linked brake button and auto rider weight positioning. The L & R steering movement on the thumbstick needs all your attention. Having to integrate back & forward movement for rider lean using the same stick is just too damn much. The challenges are great and help build upon your skills and understanding of the physics. Graphics are on par with PS3 standards and, although I ain't a pro, the respective bike manufacturer variation seems to be pretty true to life. I guess it doesn't take a big name gaming label to get this sport right after all.

After buying and playing MotoGP 08 for about a week before returning it, I was very hesitant to pick up another motorcycle racing game, but fortunately this one delivers where MotoGP did not and for just $30!

The Good The graphics are pretty good not great, but pretty good. The sound is also pretty decent. The variety of rider views is fantastic and they did an excellent job with the 1st person views in particular. The settings cover quite a wide range of playing styles from basic/arcade to extreme (which I have not tried yet) and the overall flexibility of the game makes this game fairly easy to get into. The ability to customize the bikes is also pretty impressive, being able to adjust everything from chain tension to suspension. The tracks look pretty good, even though the background is a bit lacking, but the intensity of the racing really makes it a moot point. Most importantly, this game is fun! Every aspect of this game is WAY beyond anything MotoGP 08 offers and at half the cost!

The Bad For starters, the tutorials (5 total) are worthless. I would not, in any way, consider them tutorials, just very basic challenges. A tutorial should teach you how to do something, not just set a general goal and set you loose to figure out how to achieve it. Also, load times can be pretty long and can take away a lot of momentum between sessions. The flexibility of the bike mods also fall into the "bad" because the learning curves is awfully steep. You can consult your engineer and simply chose the "recommended" settings for qualifying or race, but more than that will leave the average player scratching their heads for a while.

Overall, after just a little practice, this game is a lot of fun. With decent graphics and pretty good flexibility, this game is a welcome addition to my collection. Also, at half the cost of the piece of poo that is MotoGP 08, this game is a great buy that you can get into after just a few practice sessions, and can spend countless hours trying to master at the various levels of realism. It could have used a little more polish (hence the four stars), but I would recommend this title to anyone looking for a decent motorcycle sim.

It's a great game with great graphics. It's easy to just pick up a race or too play a whole season.

Bought this game with high hopes and only played it a few times. The control feel is pretty good and the graphics of the rider/bike are impressive, but the graphics of the track and surroundings are surprisingly grainy and sometimes slow to draw down-track which really impacts your sense of movement and speed. On my PS2 I played Tourist Trophy by Polyphony which is derived from the Gran Turismo series and thus has amazing tracks and movement dynamics. TT had a cockpit POV that actually showed the handlebars counter-steering, that took a little getting used to, and was harder to master than the above-and-behind views but really gave you a little of the feel of riding a real bike.

I could deal with the graphics and get used to the view/feel, but the real issue that I had with this game was the load times. They aren't terribly long, but they are CONSTANT! When you are between races, setting up the bike etc. When you are in the race series mode or whatever they call it, you do like three practice sessions and three qualifying runs BEFORE the race. Between each of those sessions on the track you have to wait for several load screens and that is if you don't make any changes to the bike setup or check the conditions. I believe there were about 14 tracks in the season and to get through one track "Weekend" you there must be 60+ load screen events. It was enough to make me want to take up knitting!

Thanks,

Max

This HEADSET is slightly adjustable and works very well with the PS3. They are rather small but comfortable. The reason I felt the need to capitalize HEADSET is because that's exactly what they are. They are not headphones, so stereo sound is not an option, and it is not an earpiece like you would use for a cell phone. I must clarify it is NOT an earpiece, as some pictures on the item's page can be misleading. It is a HEADSET, charged with a supplied USB cable.

These headsets(like most for the PS3) only offer sound & communication with others that have headsets/phones/earpieces. This is important, as the only way to hear other game noises is though the TV or another set of headphones. Any headphones for all game sounds must be connected through your TV, as currently they are not recognized by the PS3(unless there's a way I'm not familiar with). Since they are constantly updating, this may change in the future.

As an online gamer the headset is perfect in mostly every way that counts. First, my PlayStation 3 identified it right away. Some gamers might have to go through a System Update (version 2.50 or later) for the quick automatic pairing as well as the headset status indicator that appears on screen. In no time, you'll have the headset working. Then, you can start setting up the volume. As you're playing a game you can either mute the mic or talk to a friend you know. Overall I recommend anyone to use this headset because its simple to use and it's durable.

pros: 8 hours of use before recharging the headset.

fast and easy to pair up with your PlayStation 3 and most new phones.

cons:It can become just a tad uncomfortable for very long periods of use.

i would rate it 9.5/10.

I play RSV2 daily and this headset is great. I have no problems with it, the charge lasts for a couple days of use and audio quality is a 4 out of 5. You can't beat this thing for the price.

This has to be the worst ps3 headset ever invented. I would get hardly any playtime out of this headset, after charging it for hours (usually 2-3) and the volume wouldnt work at all. I had lots of complaints that people couldnt understand what I was saying, and after only 3 months, it stopped working all together. Would not charge or turn on. BAD! Had paid $40 at the time from Bestbuy for it, and now they dont carry it... wonder why...

You can't tell from the package photo, but this is a one-ear affair. To call that a "gaming" headset, when stereo is essential for many FPS encounters, is a joke.

Great Game!!! But, "DO NOT BUY"!!!!!!!!!!! It is NOW FREE to Download on PSN or PC Online.... Playing in a group is fun, but so is playing solo. That, in and of itself, makes this game rather unique. It does become progressively harder to solo, but I would have gotten bored if it wasn't.

This is the short of it. The game is now available as free to play AND free to download. There are different memberships. Legendary is all features for $15.00 a month plus tax. Premium is trimmed bonuses but you only have to pay $5.00 one time to net it. And then there's free which has more limitations, but it's free.

This decal is in very good quality and looks awesome on my PS3, although it's a bit more purple than blue. I also bought the matching controllers, one red and the other blue, both pretty cool as well. Pretty much all decals are the same (great quality) & Lately I've been buying some other decals for some of my electronics, such as... My RAZR cell, Zune MP3 player, and for my Guitar Hero Les Paul controller. ALL of them look like it's not even a faceplate at all if placed on there correctly. The PS3 decal takes some time though, so be patient.

What I like about decals is that if you place it on the PS3 wrong and you want to take it off and start over, well you can, it will not loose it's sticky or rip, very strong. It took me about 8 tries before it was perfect. What makes it look even cooler is with a Darklite Lightbar and Glow Stand, so I got blue lights surrounding it and it looks freakin' cool man. I'll recommend all decals, they are all great!
