I ordered this microphone from Quick Buys. It arrived a couple days later. I read some reviews that it didn't work with Wii. I can tell you.....IT DOES!! works great. The price was cheaper than anyone around.I paid $13.95 and was very happy. It works with Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Disney's Sing It series.

I bought the microphone for Beatles Rock Band on the Wii, and it works like how it should. The 15-foot microphone is convenient for moving about the room, and now while I play guitar, my sister can sing along to the music. Just remember though (as I had to search a bit), the mic's USB plugs into the back of the Wii, in case you're looking for it. Great product.

I can report that so far, both mics that I bought work successfully with XBOX 360 Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3, but it was a bit of a disappointment that I did not recieve the mic pictured. I liked the thought of purchasing the Logitech labeled microphone, as it was not specific to any of the games, so I was especially disappointed when they arrived with the label of a game I DON'T own, Guitar Hero. Mics do not feel flimsy at all, and weight is consistent with a pro mic. Mic is very sensitive out of the package, and I was able to whisper through songs successfully with the default settings, but traversely it didn't hamper my ability to play and sing loud when desired. According to all of the reviews, if you want/need a mic, get it, but it seems likely that you will not get the one pictured.

The first time I used a Logitech USB microphone like this was on a Karaoke Revolution game we bought a few years ago. I liked the simplicity of the mic and decided to plug it into my computer for some online karaoke (I know I have a karaoke problem!) and it was a snap to set up and use.

When my son was looking for a vocal-quality microphone, I bought him this one as a birthday gift, and he's enjoying it thoroughly. It has the same, great Logitech quality we're all familiar with, plus it's plug 'n play, which takes the hassle out of putting it to work right away on a PC or other USB-enabled device!

After properly installing the Intensafire mod kit into my PS3 controller, I noticed the controls in Call of Duty MW3 and Black OPS 2 did not respond correctly and gameplay was jerky when trying to sprint. This product also drains the battery really quickly so I ended up playing with the charger cable plugged in. I even tried to reinstall the kit but that didn't help. Product may be defective.

Customer service never answers the phone, leave a message no one calls you back. Battery drain problems make it not worth it . You must turn off the chip before you turn off the controller or it will be dead next time you use it. This chip needs work to be worth it.

This game is compatible with the US PS3. If you are having a problem, the problem is either with the TV you are using or the cables you are connecting your PS3 to your TV with. Since this is an European version, it will not display on an old SDTV with the standard AV cables that come with the US PS3 system. I have not tried component AV cables, but I doubt that would work since it outputs at standard NTSC as well. It does work with HDMI cables linked to a HDTV. If you do not have a HDTV, get the download version off the Playstation store.

Update: Another difference I have found is with the download-able content available from the Playstation store. The extra content including item packs and extra dungeons will only work the the download version of the game from the Playstation store. It is not compatible with the physical European copy.

It was the best investment I have ever put in a game. I was able to get over 200 hours of gameplay in this game just to beat it the first time. And the game has a very interesting New game+ that keeps it interesting to repeat in order to get all of the trophies. I have already bought Agarest Zero and Can't wait til Agarest Senki 2 comes out in English (IF it comes out...). Wonderful Game!

Note: You need an HDTV with an HDMI Cable connected to the PS3 for this game to work. This disc IS compatible with the U.S. PS3 Consoles.

this version of Record of Agarest War is for you. For a mere $5 more than what a PSN download would have cost, I got this physical European copy of the game. The game has English subtitles, so PS3 gamers who hate to read might want to pass this one by. The game comes with a black-and-white game booklet in English. It works awesome on my 1.5-year-old fat PS3 and Samsung digital TV using an HDMI cable. I've only invested a couple of hours into the gameplay and am having a bit of difficulty getting used to how the combat system works, hence I've removed a star. For anyone seeking out an RPG strategy game, this should satisfy until the next one comes along.

This is Mortal Kombat at its best. Better than what I was expecting and I was expecting a lot after playing the Demo.

The kontent of the Kollector Edition is awesome. For the extra 30$ or so, you get a t-shirt, a key chain, the original model skin of ERMAC, (I got the original skin of SCORPION and his original fatality from EBgames), you get the online Kombat pass and 3 avatar and 2 themes for your console. You also get Scorpion and Sub Zero statues and they can be used to hold books or games together. Just like a library book holder. But, the gem of the content is without a doubt the Art Book. This alone is worth 50$ to me. You get all the original Art and sketches from the characters and arenas of the game. They explain their vision of how they went from original arena to the new ones. They even have clues in the text. Like the one about the ''ONI'' that is locked in Goro's Lair that sometimes gets out!!!! Does it mean the ''ONI'' is a hidden kombatant? Who knows......

The Game itself is very entertaining. I think the MK team hit a homerun with this one. The presentation is very well done. The menus are easy to navigate and the tone is very dark. I especially like the Neckropolis menu where you can go and see the entire character model and let me tell you some of the characters are very ehhhhh sexy. The females of courses. You have the option of seeing the damage version of them as well on top of the Bio's.

There seems to be a lot of replay value. There is a lot of ways you can play a match and that is excluding online. I mean there is a lot to do by yourself without playing online if that is what you want to do. I did not really like to hear we have to pay 10$ to play online, but I don't really play online, so it does not really affect me.

The gameplay itself is well balanced in my opinion. Although I sometime have difficulties pulling out combos, I just think I need more practice. The characters are really really really cool looking and I find it really awesome to see the cyborgs being real cyborgs. You hear metal sounds when you hit them. The entrances of the characters are really well done. I mean seeing Sub Zero making his entrance on a 50'' TV with HD.....there's nothing like it. The controls respond very well and I did not think the AI was too easy or too hard. It is really well balanced.

Overall, the Kollector Edition was worth every penny to me. I was happy to get all the extra stuff, but as I mentioned, the gem of this Kollection was the Art Book. Bravo Zulu to Ed Boon and his MK Team. There is a picture at the end of the Art Book showing all the team together and there's a least 60 peoples. You guys deserve to be recognized for the extraordinary work in putting together what I believe to be the best MK game ever.

Mortal Kombat is back... When I first heard about this game I kind of paid no mind. Because of how crappy MK became over all the years, so I was just thinking another MK with the same boring stiff style. Then I saw some videos and I LIKED it, then I played the demo and LOVED it, now I have the game and I'M IN LOVE with it. This is the best MK by far, for the longest I said MK3 was the best but this here outdid it all, finally they returned to 3D graphics on a 2D plane. MK now have 2-on-2 matches like Marvel vs. Capcom, Challenge Tower and Fatality Training (so no more excuses for not finishing your opponent). MK has even slim down their roster from that crazy 63 fighters in MK: Armageddon to about 30 fighters now and if you got PS3 like me you get Kratos and I can't think of anyone more suited for MK than the God of War himself and what make it even better they didn't dull down Kratos' style... They even have sequences from the GoW games for him in matches but you can only use him in versus mode. MK went back to their roots, one of my favorite things are: as you're taking and dealing damage the blood don't just squirt out onto the ground the fighters become bloody and disfigured. Now my absolute favorite thing is the super combo gauge as you take and deal damage your combo gauge fills level 1-enhanced special attack, level 2-combo breaker and level 3 the best of all X-RAY attack: the camera goes in and will show an inside view of the fighter who is being attacked while bones and organs are broken and shattered. The fatalities are all back to what they should be not that crap you got from MKvDC they brought the M-Rated worthy they introduced us to 18years ago. Now for my review: GAMEPLAY 5stars: there is four attack buttons, 2D fighting style and finally the fighters are more loose and flexible not stiff like previous MK, that's why I like this so much, GRAPHICS 5stars: this game looks great the stages are so well designed and so are the fighters and by the way this is 3D compatible which really sets the graphics off, STORY MODE 4stars: it becomes harder as the chapters progress and you get a chance to play with different fighters but no fatalities. ONLINE 5stars: take your skills online and compete against others and even watch fights as if you`re at the movies (you can even cheer and boo the fight)in King of the Hill, FIGHTERS 5stars: MK dramatically improved their roster by cutting it down. If you ever liked MK get this game, if you thought about MK get this game, if you're looking for an M-Rated fighter get this game. I wouldn't be surprised if this won Best Fighting Game... This is the best MK ever made. MORTAL KOMBAT 5STARS... FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!

The actual game is really fun. If you liked the first three games you will feel right at home. The only downside I can see in this new game is the X-ray attacks. After a while they might start to get repetitive. I have beat the story mode and played a couple of online matches. The online was a little bit laggy sometimes so it might suck when trying to land your hardly practiced combos. One of the best additions is the tag team mode. I haven't played it much because I am still trying to get better in 1v1 mode but it allows you to make even badder combos than before. Your second character can also attack while he is out of the tag. You can even beat the ladder mode with a buddy on tag team mode! It has a lot of content to unlock such as character kostumes and music and concept art. One thing that has me down is that the PSN has been down for a couple of days now and I can't play people online :(

Moving on. The sculptures of SubZero and Scorpion look great and very detailed. You might find a lack of detail on something if you really try and look close. They hold whatever you put in between and look great anywhere if you have the space to showcase it :P

The concept art booklet is not as great. It has some info on how the characters and arenas are created but it is not very long. It is very nicely done though. One nice little feature is that they show a small picture of the classic levels from back in the original games and how they made them to look like now but with a twist.

You also get a reptile classic kostume and I got an ermac one from amazon. You also get a couple of themes for your PS3 and about 5 avatars for your PSN profile. The only thing lacking in this Kollector's edition is a soundtrack CD. For a game with such amazing music as Mortal Kombat they SHOULD had included an OST.

Now in my opinion, this is probably worth less than what I paid for it ($98.99) but if you're a fan of mortal kombat and want to own a piece of the series, then buy it.

If you liked Mortal Kombat, the game won't let you down.

As of this review (4/20/11), you need to know that this game is great but has a problem with freezing. This is a direct result of Update 1.01 which is supposed to enable online play. My advise is NOT to update to version 1.01 until a better version is released. I still recommend buying this game though.

I bought 2 of these cables. One for my HD cablebox adn the other for my Xbox 360. The cablebox works, fine. My TV won't recognize the Xbox, unless it is on, and on the correct input. Also, if I am playing xbox, and I press imput/source on my my tv to see what's on, and then switch back to the xbox, it restarts the xbox. This doesn't make sense, as the cable should just be relaying info to the tv. I've read online that it's because the cables are cheap and don't have a "switch" in them. Is that true? I have no idea. I do know that for my purposes, $2.00 was the right price and beats paying 40 bucks each for other cables. It's just a wire dipped in plastic.

Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut is an open world, do anything you want, horror, mystery game for PS3.

To the point then:

NEW IMPROVEMENTS NOTICED: Compared to 360 version I owned:

-Improved, more precise on foot and in vehicle controls.

-Improved Graphics for trees, houses, cars, interiors, exteriors, roads, animals, night and day time, lakes, town, and many minor details.

-York's clothing has physics. His tie will flop as he moves.

-Farther Draw Distance with more clarity, less fogging.

-Expandable mini map while in-game. Very helpful.

-Updated HUD graphics.

-Autosave and standard single slot save (new?)

-Story Additions, new scenes, dialog, etc.

-Less muddiness while outside. Still pixelated though. Lots of visual noise. Frame rate still slows down on occasion.

-2D and 3D choice. 2D has better resolution. 3D is pixelated more.

STORY:

Join Francis York on his nightmarish journey into the forest town of Greenvale, as he tries to piece the mysterious clues together that can help him find and stop the unexplained Red Seed deaths taking place. Plenty of supernatural demons and surreal moments, many of which are heavily inspired by Twin Peaks.

CONTROLS:

Left analog rotates York 360 degrees, with a light pressure making him walk slowly, more pressure up to a normal walk. To run, hold L2. Right Analog controls the camera, also 360 and independent of the character's controls, so if you want, you can have York walk towards the camera while looking behind him.

L1 draws your weapon, up down digital pad picks it. Really nicely done. Firing a gun is still stationary and a bit clusmy.

While in a vehicle, you can choose an exterior view, or an interior dashboard view of the car. Get in and out as you please.

GAMEPLAY:

Navigate freely in a expansive open world forest town on foot by foot or in vehicle, your choice. There is weather, and a day/night cycle.

York's weaker Hand gun offers unlimited ammo. Weapons break, use them wisely. Some enemies take more than one hit to eliminate.

HIGHLIGHTS:

-Fuel your vehicle. Windshield wipers, lights on/off.

-Shave, clean your clothes or change attire, eat and sleep, etc.

-Investigate at your own pace.

-Lots to see, do, collect and discover.

SOUND: A Twin Peaks like soundtrack, and creepy sounds from the zombie like demon humans that you encounter, with many classic sound FX that remind one of PS1, PS2's Resident Evil series.

If you enjoyed Resident Evil 1 and 2, the Silent Hill games, definitely consider this one of a kind, quirky horror exploration game and add it to your collection.

Now all we need is Swery (writer director) to be funded to create Deadly Premonition 2 for current and next gen consoles, using a modern game engine to create it.

Deadly Premonition can be a hard game to swallow for the uninitiated. The original released in 2010 and injected the Xbox 360's decidedly westernized library with the spirit of obscure budget horror. Since the controls are somewhat archaic, it often gets misrepresented as "so bad it's good."

The enjoyment found in this game is nothing like the feeling you may get while ironically watching a bad movie, should you be into that. No, this game's story is actually very good, and one that wears its huge Twin Peaks influence on its sleeve. And on top of that it features one of the greatest main characters in any game, ever.

In many ways The Director's Cut is the superior version, despite some framerate issues that I'm happy to report don't hurt the game too much (the only really bad sections occur early on). Thanks to the refined controls and difficulty, combat is far less tedious than before, which makes progressing through the game a lot more satisfying. The enhanced mini-map also gives extra incentive to explore the town and complete sidequests in between missions.

Though Deadly Premonition still contains a fair amount of jank, it only adds to the wealth of charm within. The end result is a ridiculously original masterpiece that hearkens back to an era where the gaming landscape had more room for wildly imaginative budget games, a far cry from the abundance of focus tested blockbusters that are prevalent today.

Buy Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut Now

Jim Sterling of Destructoid fame once described "Deadly Premonition" as "watching two clowns eating each other," in the sense that such a thing is perverse and wrong, yet hilarious and able to grasp your attention in a choke-hold. While some critics missed the entire point of the experience (IGN, for example), SWERY's sick yet beautiful game managed to carve out an audience in today's gaming landscape, an impressive feat for a $20 budget game.

Fast-forward three years, and the video game industry is in turmoil. Corporate corruption, homogenized sequels, and AAA titles that simply attempt to outdo each other as opposed to being genuinely good games... everything is messed-up, and it seems developers have forgotten what it means to make interactive entertainment. Not Access Games, though, because their massive facelift of their modern cult classic reminds us that there are still developers that give a darn. Somehow managing to improve an already perfect game, "Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut" is what we, the gaming community, need. And I can't think of finer praise to heap on a something.

Before delving into this version specifically, it's important to introduce new players to the events of the game. FBI Agent Francis York Morgan (call him York, though, everybody else does) is sent to the sleepy town of Greenvale to investigate the bizarre murder of a local girl. The method in which she was killed is similar to other cases he's investigated, so he quickly takes over the case. However, things get weirder from there. From "mysterious capitalists" that wear gas masks to futures being read in a morning cup of coffee, and from a killer decked out in a red raincoat to people being turned into freaking tress, this game pulls out all the stops in its attempt to confuse players.

What's most beautiful about the narrative, however, is how many genres it encompasses. It works as a metaphysical drama, as a serial killer murder mystery, as a black comedy, as a romance, as... well, it works on just about any level. It will make you laugh as many times as it shocks you, and oftentimes, it will do both at the same time. Not only that, but the characters are truly memorable. York, the perky blond officer Emily, workout nut George and others will stick with you for years to come, and make you wonder why today's gaming landscape is still filled with such cookie-cutter characters, when such original ones are housed in a game that costs a small fraction of what AAA titles run. While growing attached to these protagonists, you'll laugh, cry and most importantly, be entertained.

One thing that still impresses is the ability to essentially stalk every single character in the game through their daily routine. In an ambitious AI system (where most of the game's budget was admirably sunk), every person in the cast, and even people who aren't part of the narrative, have their own schedules. There are no random pedestrians, no repeated character models; you can follow everybody for in-game weeks, and see their schedules shift over time. It's an amazing system, and one that can give you serious insight into even the most minor of characters.

As far as new story content goes, we have a new intro, outro, and segments that intersperse the main narrative. It adds new framework to the game, and puts everything in a much different context than before: a story being told to a little girl by her grandfather (who is obviously a certain character from the game.) This little twist makes everything a bit more terse, in my opinion, and was a bold direction for Swery to take. Fans are sure to enjoy these characters' interactions, and newcomers are in for a slightly more fulfilling story.

Now, the differences in this Director's Cut are subtle, but they make all the difference in the world. Combat still functions "Resident Evil 4"-style, making players stand in place as they shoot from an over-the-shoulder perspective. However, it works more fluidly here, and the controls are much more responsive. But the largest area of improvement in the combat department can definitely be seen in the melee area; using pipes, knives and even laser swords (yes, they're unlockable)feels like a viable alternative and not a crippled mechanic. Furthermore, the addition of a more pronounced weapon durability meter is a godsend. Overall, the combat feels more fluid and enjoyable, and it's a lot easier to respond when the horrific eyeless zombie-things pop out of nowhere.

On the exploration side, we have some definite improvements. The biggest of these, in my opinion, is definitely the minimap. No longer are you forced to go into a screen in order to navigate the sprawling environment; you can keep up a map to help you figure out where you need to be at all times. Furthermore, York's main control scheme has improved, as has the camera. The quirky agent can finally move freely in any direction, and the camera doesn't annoying snap back to the center anymore. Control-wise, this is definitive version of "Deadly Premonition."

The other big change is apparent as soon as you start playing: the graphics. While it still doesn't look like a big-budget retail title, the visual aesthetics of this game are a definite improvement over the past version. High-definition adds a new level of depth to the game, most noticeably on the new character models. Veins bulge, mouths are lined with teeth, and you can see strands of hair in more detail (especially on York.) Furthermore, the environments are much more detailed; signs that used to clash with their locations now blend smoothly, and building interiors are rendered with the utmost attention to the smallest of things. That being said, I do wish more attention had been paid to the outdoors. Water looks jarringly plain, and some of the grass textures are rather blurry and ugly. Overall, it's a definite improvement, but some issues I wish had been addresses were left alone.

My biggest complaint about the HD transfer, really, is the framerate. Namely, it kind of sucks in some areas. This only really affects cutscenes and exploring areas with a lot things on the screen (expect a lot of pop-in textures), but it's still a noticeable problem. While this is something that could probably be patched out, it's something I take some issue with.

The sound department is a mixed bag. True, we do still have the wonderful, eclectic score and the offbeat, lovable voice acting. That's all still there. But unfortunately, the audio is poorly mastered, and jarringly so. Sound effects are too loud, voices too quiet, and the music not as enjoyable due to the fact that you're trying to listen to the characters. Everything players loved about the game is still there, but handled in an incredibly inept fashion. Thankfully, you can tamper with the three audio tracks to reach the right level, but seeing how this was never an issue in the original, I consider it a flaw of this version.

How does one review "The Director's Cut", then? As a game, it's still everything I fell in love with, topped with some additional narrative bits, and some really stellar gameplay improvements. But as a definitive cut, it falls a bit flat due to the framerate issues and sound complaints. Overall, "Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut" is very much worth buying if you haven't played the original, or if you were a rabid fan of it. The gameplay is better than it's ever been, and the graphics are as good as they're going to get. All others, however, may find that the A/V issues dissuade them from completing their journey into Greenvale's twisted web of intrigue.

"Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut" is like a shot of espresso; there's a definite audience for it, and newcomers should try it if they haven't already, but for others, it might be a bit too dirty and strong to handle.

Unquestionably worth buying, even if you have the 360 version as I do. To fault this game for poor graphics is to fault Playboy for poor grammar dude, you're kinda missing the point. More games like this need to be made. Long live Swery65!

"Alone in the Dark" is a game that had a lot of hype behind it prior to release, but when it finally landed on the 360, Wii and PS2, it was pretty much broken beyond repair. All of the fundamental elements that make a game enjoyable (outside the storytelling aspects) were left in a perpetual state of disarray. Long story short -it played like an undercooked beta release. Why Eden Games chose to release the title with its fundamentals fractured so terribly is beyond me.

What we've received from Eden Games in "Alone in the Dark: Inferno" is a greatly improved build that, unfortunately, still suffers from some clunky play mechanics.

First, the improvements:

01 For the most part, the player has been given full control over the game's camera, allowing for a 360 degree view of the environment. Occasionally the camera locks itself down, but this is done in moments that require the cinematic effect. For the most part, it works.

02 Edward no longer controls like a tank. This change was pretty much a given when the camera was freed up.

03 The inventory system is less convoluted. The order in which you combine items is no longer dead set, and its easier to navigate in general.

04 The driving mechanics have been tweaked. Now one of the game's most exciting levels (the final stage in episode 2) is a lot more fun and a lot less frustrating. The cars no longer handle like boats.

05 A "hint" system is integrated into the early stages to help orientate the player (this may have been in the 360 version, but I certainly don't remember it, particularly during the first driving level).

06 The storyline is pretty much identical between builds, but there's been a fundamental change made surrounding a quest that in the initial build involves a LOT of painful backtracking. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling things, but this change helps the flow of the game immensely.

07 A new level has been added mid-way through the game.

Now the problems:

01 Despite the tweaked control scheme, Edward is still a bit difficult to control. There are times where I'll want him to walk one direction, and he'll sort of wander in a slightly different direction. This was particularly annoying in the later half of episode 1.

02 It's easy enough moving him around in first person view, but the controls are never as sensitive as one would like in first person, and getting into a gun fight can be really irritating, particularly if you're used to the precision aiming in games like "Resistance".

03 There is no 5.1 surround support in this game, which is sort of a letdown. It's the only game I own that lacks 5.1. There are also no subtitles, which just feels lazy. One of the people in my house is deaf in one ear and partially relies on subtitles to convey the story. This is probably the only PS3 game I own that lacks subtitle support.

04 Using melee weapons is problematic. It's a good idea for a combat system, but it's implemented poorly. It reminds me a little bit of that PS2 Jet Li game, but less refined.

There are a lot of big ideas in "Alone in the Dark: Inferno". It's a very ambitious game, and I think that's one of the problems. I get the feeling that this title was just slightly outside the capability of Eden Games. They couldn't quite pull it all together into a cohesive experience.

Having said that, the game features an exciting episodic presentation and a wonderful musical score that utilizes the award-winning female choir known as The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices. The voice acting is solid (the guy who plays Max Payne voices Edward Carnby) and there are some excellent set pieces that really get the blood pumping.

If you can look past the slightly awkward control scheme and the occasional graphical oddity, I would suggest picking the game up. The price has already dropped quite a bit (I picked the game up brand new for $29.99 at a local Game Stop) so now's the time.

Wow, this game took me by surprise. I first played the demo and then picked up the game on discount. It's much better than the reviews would lead you to believe!

First off, I think the graphics are very impressive; it might not be Uncharted or Killzone 2, but there's an undeniable artistry in the game designers' post-apocalyptic version of New York City. The lead character, Edward Carnby, also looks really cool, and the monster designs are exceptionally scary.

Like a big summer movie, the action set-pieces in this game are astounding! The designers were obviously influenced by Spielberg's popcorn films, as well as disaster movies in general, as many of the situations you come across seem pulled right out of the cinema (try not to shout "cool!" when you dangle from a wire outside a crumbling skyscraper and the camera pans down to show exploding vehicles from the street far below being flung upwards and nipping at your heels). I particularly liked the final level, which seems like it was pulled straight out of the Indiana Jones/Mummy films.

Alone in the Dark: Inferno is also wildly innovative, which is where you might argue that it falters from time to time (thus some of the scathing reviews)--personally, the unorthdox game design is what impressed me the most with this game. The inventory system in particular is very unique: anytime you need to use an item, weapon, etc, you press a button and the camera switches to a 1st person "inside your jacket" view, where you look through the character's eyes as you pull items from your jacket pockets and equip/combine them on the fly. True, this happens in real time, and it's possible to be attacked while you're doing your doing it, which is why some people might not like it; I think it adds intensity and sets this game apart from others (side note: you can reload without going into your jacket, so combat still works without being too much of a chore).

Another awesome innovation is the DVD-like chapter system that the game employs: it's like when you buy a TV series on DVD--every level of the game is broken down into different episodes and chapters. There's even a cool wrapup every time you resume a saved game: "previously, on Alone in the Dark..."

The writing is a bit juvenile at times (what with the overuse of the "F" bomb), but the story itself is very intriguing, concerning you-know-who (the big bad man with the red horns) attempting to make a comeback and plunge the world into darkness. (Another side note: this game is absolutely for mature audiences, and it does deal with the occult, but without getting into too much gory/incantation reciting details).

"Alone in the Dark" definitely stuck with me after I finished playing; it's an intense experience that I rank up there with the best gaming experiences I've had. It has its flaws here and there, but the good overwhelmingly outnumbers the bad in this case. If you love action/adventure games, I highly recommend it. (Final note: do yourself a favor and start killing the evil weeds AS SOON as the game gives you the opportunity--it'll make the final sections of the game much easier to complete, and you definitely want to see the incredible last level!)

Atari's Alone in the Dark reboot has finally hit the PS3 (and been re-titled Alone in the Dark: Inferno), and thankfully Atari has taken the extra time to address some of the problems that hurt the game when it first came out not too long ago. The biggest issue with Alone in the Dark on the XBox 360 was the unresponsive controls, many of which have been fixed here. Now, driving around in the game isn't so godawfully difficult to do, even though there are still a few lingering control issues to be found while you're playing on foot. That aside, the game still looks good (despite some occasional graphical oddities), and those jaw-dropping moments that will jolt you out of your seat while playing are still here, and are still pulled off flawlessly. The great item uses remain as well, and the improved camera controls make the gameplay all the more rewarding. All in all, Alone in the Dark: Inferno for the PS3 is definitely the best version of the game to see the light of day, and if you felt burned playing other versions of it, check it out on the PS3, and you'll be much more satisfied with what you get here.

This game was killed with the reviews the first go and now that it has been rereleased the critics seem to hate it just as much. I was expecting a decent game for the $16 I payed for it but the truth is that this game is excellent. This is the first game I have played in along time that I would actually call hard. Not frustratingly so but it is a good challenge. Another good aspect is that there are times in the game where you will not advance if you can't think. Yes that is right, you must think. I know, it sounds strange given todays shoot 'em up action style of games but this one is so much more. Besides, this game is so cheep that if you are thinking about getting it then just buy it, for 16 bucks this game can seriously surprise you, now that I have played it I would have payed the full 50-60 buck for it. In short, it's a steal.

The bottom line is that this game is a gem and most people will never know...tragic.

I was pleasantly surprised with this game. Without going "Hard-core gamer" on this review, the gameplay although a bit buggy, is very satisfying. The cinematic sequences are of top quality and keeps you hanging on to the story. It's a solid, unique, and scary title that deserves to be played! Burn on Eden, burn on!!

This is a review specifically focusing on the extras that come with the collector's edition of the game...

The Sackboy Plushie: For a lot of people, this is possibly the biggest selling points of the collector's edition. Sackboy may just be the most adorable character to come out of the past decade, so having a licensed plushie of him would be, for many, a dream come true. It's disappointing then that the quality of the plushie is rather poor. The plushie looks significantly different than the Amazon image above and the image on the box. Compared to what is displayed, the plushie is a much darker brown, its head has more of a pronounced egg shape, its button eyes are smaller, and it just has an overall "school arts and crafts" vibe about it. I thought perhaps I may have just received a bad one, but I have seen images of others that are just the same poor quality. The image also shows the plushie sitting down which suggests that the legs can swivel or are loose enough pose. However they are stiff and cannot move. All this is upsetting because the Sackboy plushie displayed is clearly an entirely different plushie than the one you get. If your main reason for getting the collector's edition is the plushie, I would suggest possibly passing on it (Or at least look at images of the actual plushie you get to see if the quality is good enough for your liking. I have posted an image here on Amazon.)

The Bookends: Though they (intentionally) have a cardboard look to them, they are made of a stiff material and are sturdy. Each bookend is about 8 inches (20 cm) high and 5 inches (13 cm) wide. There are two cardboard cutouts, one on each bookend (Sackboy holding an arcade cabinet on one, and LBP's Da Vinci surrounded by Sackbots on the other) which add some 3 dimensional pizzazz. Contrary to the plushie, these bookends are pretty nice.

The Costumes/Avatars: For others, this will be the big selling point of the collector's edition. It's probably important to point out again that these are downloadable content costume packs and are NOT on the disc (otherwise meaning your PS3 will need to be hooked up to the internet to acquire them). Inside the game case is a small voucher with the code that you can redeem on the Playstation Network. The Jak & Daxter costumes are only available in the collector's edition of the game, so if you want them, this is the only way to get them. All the costumes are of good quality like the other LBP DLCs available and are definitely the highlight of the collector's edition. LBP costumes on the Playstation Network cost roughly $1-2, so all the costumes make up more the than half the additional cost of the collector's edition which helps justify it. The voucher also lets you redeem 5 avatars which you can display on your PSN ID if you want to show off your adoration for LBP2.

While the plushie is a bit of a letdown, the decent bookends and fun costumes pick up the slack. You would probably spend nearly $20 on the costumes anyway, so if you're interested in them (especially the Jak & Daxter costumes which, again, are only available if you get this edition of the game), you might as well pick up the collector's edition and get everything else.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a continuation of the first LittleBigPlanet, in the sense that the fun still never stops. With many new features this game easily packs a punch twice as hard as the first one though. new features include cut scene creator , sound creator, you can create (with some imagination) many different variations of mini-games within your created level (for me I made a paintinator shooter to play with my roommate). What's my favorite feature? Probably that it's compatible with the Move, although to be truthful I haven't used the Move with it yet (it just sounds like a fun idea that they had).

The levels in LBP 2 are even more creative than the first one (if that's even possible), the graphics are more polished (if it matters), and load screens don't seem to take as long. The create mode is a thousand times easy than the first time (very user-friendly). Create mode is easier in the sense that all of the tutorials are right in front of you and you don't have to try everything on your popit in order to see them all. ALSO maybe my favorite improvement is that when you go to create and enemy (using the brain) they are just mindless going back and forth, they actually do what you would expect an enemy to do.

The online system is also amazing. The internet style level search bar looks like it will make finding levels you want to play a breeze (since nobody has really made any levels yet, I have not had the pleasure to use it yet).

When it comes to cons there really aren't any that I can speak of. Graphics are clean, gameplay is funner than ever, load screens are bearable, and sackboy is still cute as hell.

Now I have a sackboy plush to put near my TV as well. The plush is very durable and feels like it is lined on the inside with some reinforcing plastic.

The bonus costumes are all great but my personal favorite are the ratchet and clank ones (mostly clank because your sackboy looks so hilarious running around as clank)

So overall I would give this game 10/5 stars, but since they won't let me I'll just have to give it 5. I know what I'm doing in my free time this week =]

I am going to review this a little different than my normal reviews as if you owned LBP1 you pretty much know the gameplay, graphics, sound etc. This review is going to be broken down into 2 parts.

1. The Game itself

2. The CE box edition

____ THE GAME ____

Okay Little Big Planet, if you have not played it before, is pretty much a platform'er w/ some adventure and wonderful creativity thrown into it. The game is suitable for all ages and has almost infinite re-playability. When you finish the campaign not only do you have item collecting to do but online user created levels, can create your own levels, dress up your pod, play mini games or redo the campaign with up to 4 people and have a blast just enjoying yourself.

LBP2 made some changes to the formula which I think gave it a much stronger campaign. While the levels early on can be a bit annoying or challenging (due to the grapple gun mechanics) the game as a whole is very polished and boasts a fantastic sound track, some really good and funny voice acting. They implemented a more solid storyline this time and it gives each level a lot more meaning to it. The new versus levels are a lot of fun also with friends.

The online play is extremely fluid, hopping into random games or inviting friends is even easier than the first game. If you loved Little Big Planet this game will easily bring a smile to your face once again. If you loved to create levels in little big planet, LBP2 will blow your mind with what you can do. You can recreate games like pac-man, asteroids, street fighter, even play a game of basketball; the versatility of this game is never ending.

If you never played Little Big Planet but were very curious about it, this is definitely a title worth picking up. Next to the Uncharted series, LBP is easily one of my top titles released on the PS3.

9.7 / 10 ( 97% ... 5 stars ) for the game. There are some minor bugs that aren't game breaking but can cause that happy smile to turn into a frown for a few moments but not enough to hurt this game. I expect many of the little problems to be patched out within a few days as these are just your typical launch bugs

____ COLLECTORS EDITION _____

Now... I am going to review the collectors edition. Essentially, is the CE worth +$20 ? Lets review what you get with the CE first

1. Book/Game ends (60%)

** These actually are much better quality than I expected. They do not feel like cardboard at all but I have a feeling they are probably heavy duty cardboard w/ plaster coating over it. They seem far to light for the material. However, they do work quite well. I have tested it with a bunch of games and they hold just fine. They also do a good job holding a bunch of books; though small books like paperbacks such as Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time etc Each end has small rubber/felt feet(4) on it and I think here is the problem with why people are having issues with them. They dont' have enough "grip" to really hold these ends in place. On a smooth surface like my polished PC desk they slide far to easy and a simple bump would cause it to lose its hold on the books. Replacing the little felt feet with solid plastic/rubber would resolve the problem but overall, out of the box these kinda-sorta work.

2. 5 PSN avatars (50%)

** What can I say, they are PSN premium avatars. Nothing special honestly and they don't even look that good IMO

3. Jax and Daxter exclusive costumes (100%)

** These are exclusive to the CE. The costumes look fantastic in 720p with high detail put into them.

4. 11 DLC costumes (100%)

** Who doesn't want more costumes! Depending on pricing when the hit official DLC it can be $6-$11 in savings (technically since you are paying $20 more for the CE)

5. LBP2 game disk (100%)

** Of course you get the game silly! At least you better have a game in the box ^_^

6. 7" Plushie (collectible) (50%)

** If you don't already own a sackboy / sackgirl plushie then this might be worth having as they do sell for anywhere from $10 $30 depending on the quality. However they are all usually 10" in size not 7". This is pretty much a smaller version of the standard plushie you find anywhere. From the original pictures included of the box set when announced they showed a completely different , higher quality Sackboy plushie. It was the first thing I noticed also was that this wasn't the advertised Plushie in fact it is all over the internet, in these reviews, my friends pointed it out also. Is this a killer, not really as you still get a cute plushie! Its just a bit of a let down as well as slightly misleading pictures/advertising

ANYHOW as you can see , in my book the CE scored 2 100's 2 50's and a 60 so doing some math that's 72% (i'm not including #5 in the calculation for obvious reasons :) )

72% is pretty low in my book for a CE box set. (Caka.. BARELY passing) With that said:

*** The CE is a PASS. Do not spend $20 on this unless you honestly want a 7" plushie for the kids (or to add to a collection or something) and some bookends that sorta-kinda-maybe work half the time 0_o the costumes are really nice though but I'm sure you can end up buying them as DLC later on. Save your money

--Gameplay (5 out of 5 stars)--

This game is definitely the successor to the original LittleBigPlanet. Although some complain about the storyline, it is insignificant compared to the breadth of levels and diversity in gameplay that you will encounter. You'll play with a grappling hook, Creatinator and many other gaming elements that will constantly challenge your platforming formula. These elements are enjoyable with one player or four players. You level of commitment can range from trying to ace every level solo or conducting a crazy social experiment with three other people you've never met. The ability to play with players locally, online, or both simultaneously while earning trophies on all associated accounts is a great feature.

More than the story, LittleBigPlanet is about community. As time goes on, you'll see more and more user-generated content. It can be brilliant as a Sack calculator, as fun as a game of Sack Basketball, as fast as overhead Sack Go Karts, or as funny as the Bed Intruder song with an Antoine Dodson sack following you everywhere.

For the casual gamer or the serious gamer, this game has unlimited possibilities and users never cease to amaze me with what they are capable of generating with the LittleBigPlanet tool at their disposal. If you own a PS3, this game is a no-brainer. Just don't buy the Collector's Edition for the reasons outlined below.

--Collector's edition perks (1 out of 5 stars)--

Unfortunately, the pictures for all of the additional content presented are rather deceiving. I was initially excited by the release images, but they a false representation.

Bookends

The characters depicted on the bookends are cute. However, the are little more than 2-d cardboard cutouts on what seems to be sticker-covered plastic slats. They will serve as excellent bookends for video games that can usually stand on their own. Anything of significance (e.g. Books) will cause them to slide or topple.

Sackboy Plush

The sackboy is a dark brown hue with a plastic zipper. Throw away any illusions of the texturized, well-constructed plush shown above. Other friends of mine have also purchased the Collector's edition and have been greeted with haphazard construction of their own plushies, including torn zipper lines and offset zippers. You can do much better at other online retailers.

Downloadable Content

The costumes and avatars are the two elements that appear as advertised! However, it is a just a combination of thrown-together costumes that will probably be available for individual purchase not too long from now.

The price for the additional By no means is this a large investment, but at pre-order Amazon offered $20 pre-order credit with the purchase of the standard edition. Having pre-ordered the collector's edition back in August 2009, I was rather cross once I found out about the discrepancy. To put it bluntly, I paid $40 for an underwhelming, poorly conceived (and constructed) set of LittleBigPlanet paraphernalia. As good as the game is, I recommend that you avoid the Collector's edition. Sorry Media Molecule, but you should stick solely with Video Games.

I purchased this for the controller, but I was pleasantly surprised by infamous. I enjoyed one, although the graphics are a bit outdated. I am currently playing two. It is a great game. I love it. Glad that I purchased it. I didn't know what I was going to do while I was waiting for the god of war.

My son had asked for this for his birthday. It was quick to arrive. He is so hooked on the game that he cannot stop playing. It has two games in it and the controller that is included adds even more to the game. He said it is awesome and is very happy with the whole product. The game started off a little slow, but now even his wife can't stop watching him play. You'd love it too I'm sure.

My only complaint is that while it seems like a great deal that it is bundled with both Infamous games, the Infamous games themselves get really boring after a while. I wish this was bundled with the Playstation All Stars or a more interesting title, but it is a great deal that it comes with 2 game discs plus the controller which is working like a charm and looks neat. There's another blue controller bundle with the Uncharted series, so you might also want to consider that one.

I just got this game and after playing for a couple of hours I can say that Need for Speed Series is back on track. I was around for the original Need for Speed and Hot Persuit series, those were so much fun, if they could oly bring those back.

ProStreet and Carbon were complete disasters, extreamly disapointing, I had to stop playing after my first time.... this one is at least 4 times better than the lader.

The graphics are crisp, but many daytime sceens look washed on my HDTV, I thought something was wrog with my TV. lol. But that's how the game is. But that aside, gameplay is designed for super highspeed, the stearing ratio is tight, meaning that if you just tap the controler, you'll hit a wall, but at high speeds, you need that tight streaing ratio. The cops aren;t that dumb like some say, they don't stop chasing you.... I got caught.

Some say the frame rate gets choppy, I have't seen that yet.

Overall gamplay and the fun factor are high.. the game is fast paced, not like the last 2 games that were out. I would say if you a NFS fan, this is the one to get.

EDIT: This game is better than I describe, I haven't been able to stop playing.. The cops caught me many times, and it's true that with the first car it's easy to beat the challenges, but the challenges get harder, where you need to upgrade your car and buy power add on's as well to win.... Frame rate is fine, absolutly no freezing..Great Game, I think the folks bashing this game, don't actually own it!

This game is one of the worrst in NFS series, Ive never felf so disapointed with an NFS game, 1st is extremely short, then the driving is so unrealistic, the story is boring, the only good point i can mention in the engine's sound of every car is almost like the real ones. But apart from that this game is a waste of time, I felt like I was plating on my old PS2 and not in a PS3. Luckily i found somebody that wanted to try it so I traded it for GRID, wich despite is almost a year older it's a much better game.

I just beat the game. Here is my word of warning to those considering this game.

This game goes from fun to busywork in less than an hour. Allow me to list some pros and cons, and then rant a bit.

Pros:

-Free roaming was a good idea

-being chased by the cops was fun (the first 5 or so times)

-decent amount of cars to choose from

cons:

-AI totally ridiculous, we're talking other drivers slamming into you at 150+mph causing you to lose your 1st place position after holding it for over 4 minutes. At the same time, if you try to hit them, you spin out.

-glitches, loading problems, loading times, and game freezes. those all happened way too regularly. When you get to driving past 200mph, the game starts to have trouble loading the road.

I also had the game freeze up on me at least 5 times.

-game detail is really lacking, looks rushed.

-tuning and upgrade options really weird. your driver levels up, which affects the stats of the car you drive. but you can also fix up your car.

-story was horrible. Acting just as bad

-too many cut scenes.

The ONLY reason I played this game, was because I was a fan of the previous NFS games (starting from porsche unleashed, underground 1 & 2, most wanted, etc), and that it had trophies.(well ok, it was mainly for the trophies)

This game is definitely lacking compared to those other games in the NFS franchise. The story (if you even pay attention) was plain, and felt like it bit off of "Fast and the Furious". The game was also frustrating due to the fact that I didn't know what races were necessary to progress through the story. Whenever there was a cutscene, I had to sit through a horribly acted scene. gameplay was frustrating in the fact that cars felt like they belonged in the burnout games. AI was too aggressive, and bystanding cars steered into your way as you're traveling down at 200+mph.

ARGH. don't buy this game.

don't even play it. Yuck. I would not recommend this game to ANYONE.

thank you for reading, hope it helped.

if you want a racing game for ps3, I highly recommend Gran Turismo 5, if you own an xbox 360, Forza 3 easily beats NFS undercover.

please please please for the love of God, don't touch this game!

Read Best Reviews of Need for Speed: Undercover Here

Nice to have a non-track NFS on the PS3. But it's still only kinda open world-ed. There really is no point to explore since you can jump straight to each race or shop by pressing the down button or accessing the GPS. It's weird that the GPS doesn't guide you around town like in previous titles. Cut scenes are over the top cheesy. Upgrading cars is simpler. No more brand names like HKS and Turbonetics to upgrade the same part. Sometimes it seems like the racing is too fast for the PS3 to draw in the road ahead. Confusion and crashes follow. Everything can get pretty repetitive but there are so many racing modes that it breaks it up a little.

Need for Speed: Undercover

I was extremely hesitant on purchasing this title with my great disappointment with their franchise and the "Pro-Street" title in the series. After some research, I found that the franchise went back to what they were good at and created an enjoyable experience for anyone looking for an arcade racing game.

What makes this game so enjoyable is the variety of events. Story Races (to move the story forward), Circuit races (laps), checkpoint races (beat the clock), take the lead (stay ahead of other driver for specific period of time), damage to state (destroy police cars and enviornment), outrun (lose the cops).... just to name a few.

If you are expecting true physics and accuracy in handling of a vehicle, this game is not for you. Thats not what NFS is about. As a matter a fact, its not entirely about racing. A huge draw of this game is messing with the police, causing damage and getting away.

There is an open enviornment here, however, there is not much point to it, unless you want to cruise around or increase your wanted level outside of a race/mission. As a mattar of fact, you could complete the entire game without doing free roam a single time. A click of the button will pull up the map and you can simply click on the next event you would like to play (this is an improvement over the last burnout, where you had to drive to every single event, however this game should not be compared to burnout as it is a different experience altogether.

There is also a story line... somewhere... in the background, but it will be easy to forget while playing. The only time you'll remember youre in a story is when the cut scenes come up.

The vehicles themselves are a big part of the game and in certain races/missions you will win pink slips when you win races. When racing (outside of the storyline) you also have the chance to improve the overall specs on all the vehicles in your garage by "dominating" the race which is usually figured out by the time it takes you to complete it. You also earn money which allows you to go to your garage and add improvements to specific vehicles including horsepower, torque, handling, grip and even paint and decals.

The graphics are ok and at times the game will "hang" for a second in the middle of a race which generally isnt detrimental, but can be distracting.

I struggle between a 3 star rating and a 4 star rating for this game, as its not necissarily a ground breaking game or something you MUST BUY NOW. However the game is quite addictive which steers me more towards a 4 star.

Ultimatly the choice is yours and I hope this review helps with your decision.

I've been as loyal of a Madden fan as any. I've purchased the game every year since the early 90's on Sega Genesis. And I've always enjoyed playing the games themselves, but it was the introduction of the franchise mode (1998?) that got me truly hooked. Every year, as more and more features were added to the franchise mode, I found the game to be more and more addicting. Nothing could add to the games replay value more than a detailed franchise mode where I felt like a real GM, developing my team and molding them into a perennial contender by taking over every detail of the organization and calling all the shots.

I believe Madden hit its peak during the final year on the PS2/XBOX console when every detail of your franchise could be controlled, right down to the price of refreshments in your team's stadium. Admittedly, the game has been a bit of a disappointment since its transition to the latest generation of consoles (PS3 & XBOX 360). The franchise mode was essentially stripped down to the very basics...just a shell of its old form. I understood, at least for a year or two, that the game would have to make a few sacrifices in order to get the game fully functional for the new consoles. The graphics had vastly improved, and I felt I could deal with a lighter version of the franchise mode if it meant playing such a good looking football game. But EA has done very little to bring its franchise mode anywhere close to its old form. There was a glimmer of hope for us franchise enthusiasts in Madden '12 when the game made a number of improvements, publicly acknowledging that Madden had put its franchise loyalists on hold for too long, and the feature was in some great need of improvement. Then Madden '13 was released...

Madden 13 is a slap in the face to any fan of the franchise mode that has stayed true despite the repeated disappointments over the past 5 years. The franchise mode has been completely removed from the game. EA will tell you that the "Connected Careers" (CCM) mode serves as the game's franchise mode now. I beg to differ. The CCM is a sad, sad attempt to contemplate those of us who enjoy the franchise aspect of the game. Anyone with a little awareness can see that EA's attempt to make everything "XP" based is a move to eventually monetize every aspect of the game... (Example: your players no longer progress based on their performance throughout the season. They earn "XP" for reaching certain goals which can be used to purchase upgrades to their attributes.) Everything is about earning "XP". You can't even scout future prospects unless, you guessed it, you've accumulated some precious "XP". This 'subtle' addition may be the scariest aspect of the latest edition of Madden.

To those of you who have been told that CCM replaces franchise mode in the game, here is just a short list of features that are completely gone:

Offline franchise mode multi-player (seriously?? I've played a league with my best friend every year since 2001.)

Fantasy draft (that's right, if you like drafting a team to control from scratch....forget about it.)

Option to upload NCAA 13 rosters for your drafts (the only reason I buy NCAA...)

Ability to edit player appearance/ratings

Ability to create a team/logo

Ability to move your team to another city

I won't even list all of the features that still exist but have had their functionality severely reduced. (Example: you can still trade and sign free agents but the trade logic has been tweaked such that unless you're trading a superstar for a draft pick or two, it's not going to happen. Free agents can be signed but the length and size of the contract can't be adjusted) This would end up being a review too long for anyone to read if I included all the reasons why the features that remain are lacking.

According to EA, the series has approximately 5-7 million dedicated fans, and they'll likely sell over 3 million copies of the game by October. Apparently they've decided that the franchise fans make up too small a minority to worry about. A calculated risk I assume. I'll be returning my copy though, and they can exclude me from their list of dedicated fans going forward.

Okay, so if you play this game by yourself online, and that's ALL you do, then you might not agree with this review...

...however, if you are like me, I primarily play offline franchise mode, so drastically changing this feature is a risky gamble for EA when it comes to gamers like myself. The only two words that I can use to describe 'franchise mode' this year is: EPIC FAIL. Madden 13 has something called connected careers, which serves as its only vehicle to play what past Madden's have called 'franchise mode'. This works well for online play, but if you are like me, I like to play franchise mode offline with a friend (you know, in the same room). We create our own guys, do a fantasy draft, and play as many seasons as we can until the next Madden comes out.

Not this year. EA has chosen to abandon this group of gamers. Most of the features for offline franchise play have been removed. Create a player, and have him play in your franchise? Nope. Fantasy draft? Gone. You are stuck playing with the current roster of whatever team you chose. ANY roster customization? Virtually all roster customization is gone. Again, you are stuck with the real-life team rosters. You can't even edit player attributes, names, or positions.

Finally, and this was the deal breaker for myself, and I will be returning the game I have bought every year for the last 10 years if there isn't an update issued. Multiplayer offline franchise. That HAS to be included, right? RIGHT? Unbelievably, no. I have no idea why they would take this out. It seems like a no-brainer, and quite frankly, I am a little pissed about it. Being able to have friends over and play Madden on franchise mode can't even be done in this years Madden. This literally makes this years Madden worthless to myself.

If EA included last years offline franchise mode with Madden 13, and nothing else in Madden 13 changed, my review could very well be 5 stars, so don't infer that my 1 star rating is for everyone. It's not. But, I know a lot of people who play offline franchise, and wanted to warn everyone else in this group that EA decided to ignore us this year.

UPDATE: 10/28/2012

I patiently held onto my copy of Madden 13 for a while to see if any updates by EA would be issued to correct some of the complaints I had above. I am happy to say that EA issued an update in mid-October which added some of the left out features. The update included the following:

1. Multiplayer offline franchise mode (up to 6 players)

2. Ability to import and edit rosters into offline franchise mode, this includes being able to bringing in created players, so it is now possible to play as yourself

3. A handful of tweaks to gameplay

As far as I can tell offline fantasy draft was not included. I personally love the ability to perform a fantasy draft, however, adding multiplayer and roster editing is still HUGE. Overall, I increased my rating by 1 star, so it is now 2 stars overall. The gameplay compared to Madden 12 is improved, and I think the overall experience is quite a bit of fun, so if you like previous Madden games, you will be happy with the purchase. If all of the features would have been included in the original release date (including the still left out offline fantasy draft), I think this version could have been worth a 4 star rating. So call it sour grapes, but having to wait nearly 2 months for the features that I consider a staple of Madden, I can't bring myself to give it over 2 stars.

Unless you like playing single games do not get this crap. If you are a longtime Franchise mode player do not get this....there is NO Franchise mode and what we have in it's place...Crappy Careers...is not Franchise mode and it's crap. The new game engine is a nice idea but it's far from ready and therefore it's crap. Maybe if EA had concentrated on the game play engine and left the rest of what they had in M12 alone they would have had a game but what they gave us is crap and I refuse to call it a game because it's just crap. I hope I'm getting my point across with my continuous use of the word crap...M13 truly is a POS.

09/01/12: Now that I have time to play more I just want to add this to my previous comments. At first glance I thought that the new onfield game play was better but after playing 2 seasons worth of games I have to say that the "physics" EA has hyped so much isn't there either. The physics of player on player impact is far superior in Madden 12 and so is the AI. I will give this one example from the dozens per game that I see. Playing with the 49ers I watched Aldon Smith make 3 sacks in one game that were totally "instant replay" versions of each other and they were total BS when it comes to the physics of game play. Smith was coming at the QB who was looking at the opposite side of the field on all 3 plays so what would you expect from a hard hitting linebacker coming in full speed on a QB totally unaware that he's about to be hit? A monster driving hit chest to chest to try to cause a fumble? That's what I expected to see and what I saw time and time again in Madden 12 but in Madden 13 when Smith impacted the QB it was like he hit a brick wall and stopped dead from full speed and instead had to grab the QB and twist him to the ground. Huh? Really? And this is suppose to be a physics engine? After playing enough games the real problems with the new engine are huge and glaring and go way beyond players flopping and flailing on the ground after the play is over.

I decided to try playing a game online to see if any of the online adjustments made so far have made the game better and no it has not. Every 2 or 3 plays I watch one of my defensive backs just take off toward the opposite sideline at a 90 angle (sometimes he goes behind the QB and sometimes he goes behind the MLB) with no regard what so ever for the play called and what is taking place on the field. I didn't even finish the first quarter before I turned it off and put Madden 12 back in. There is no sense in playing such a piece of garbage and there is no sense in such an obvious AI error still being there after more than a month. I'm guessing that the safeties still become statues in the middle of the field too when the other team is way behind allowing receivers to just run free behind them but I didn't play long enough to find out.

10/17/12

This is my last update because this was my last attempt at playing this crap. Update #3 from EA...losts of promises from EA but I guess it was just an attempt to keep sales up as word got out about how bad this crap is because if anything the game is worse than before. Do your self a favor and save your money. I wouldn't even buy this crap out of the $5 used game bin.

LOL more like $20-$30. First of all NO FRANCHISE MODE. Second, NO CREATE A PLAYER. Third, ALL THE DRILLS AND STUFF LIKE THAT ARE GONE. Fourth, THE DRAFT IMPORT HAS BEEN REMOVED. Fifth, the music is literally crap. SMH why they had to remove these features from the game that made it fun to play. I'll be returning this game for sure and I won't be buying anymore madden games in the future. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

I cannot believe that franchise mode is, essentially, gone. No creating a player (generally yourself so that you can pretend you are on your favorite team), no draft each year to fill your roster, and no traning camp exercises/drills to improve your players. Again, I just cannot believe that the franchise mode is gone as this is what I always wait for with each Madden...and now I am done...or hard up to just keep playing Madden 12 for the rest of my life. I hope EA issues a large-scale apology for this horrible decision.
