This is a horrible product. Pay the extra cash for the Sony version. The controller has a USB source that is supposed to synch up with the PS3; it never does. Even tried resetting the controller, and still no joy. Please avoid this if you want to avoid a frustrating experience!

This controller didn't work .in less than a week i got it ,it stopped working. The controller was never dropped or anything . It just kept blinking and just stop working. I charged it ,plugged it out ,reset it nothing worked. When i email to give it back or asked how can i fix the problem the company sent me an email on their return policy. Saying once the package is open they can't take it back if is defective send it back in the same package it came in.( Really a hole weekly later) then they said even if i do send it back they are out of this product and none in stock . This dance pad is of good quality with a nice 1-inch foam insert so you can use it without wearing shoes and hurting your legs. Pad is very responsive and works for hours without problems.

Giving it 4out5 stars because the pad does skid on carpet so it has to be readjusted every couple of songs. Its abit pricey so I wouldn't recommend this as a first dance pad. Try the cheaper ones first and upgrade to this if you like the DDR game genre.

A couple of things to know:

1. This pad is NOT Bluetooth or wireless. Sony prevents third-party manufacturers from using the PS3 native-Bluetooth technology. It is USB with a 6' cord and will use up one of the PS3 USB ports.

2. Pad will NOT work with PS3 80GB systems! This is listed in the item description but can be easily missed.

3. Pad does have the PS3 "PS" button (actually a tap-area on the pad). If you have a PS3 then I'm sure you know how important that is. Also has the "Select" and "Start" tap-area on front of the pad.

4. Instructions are really poor...as in "why even include them" poor. Nothing really to know except assemble the foam pad insert (comes in 3 interlocking puzzle-like pieces which fit very well into the pad cover), plug it in (has a red-light which comes on to let you know it is plugged in) and ready for use.

The arrows feel just about the same as any pad I've used before. I use it on the PC and Stepmania works fine with it. I don't need to make any adjustments for lag. The raised inserts feel fine, and aren't too thin like some pads, and they haven't moved one inch in 2 total hours of heavy play.

Moving onto the USB connection, it works perfectly. Windows 7 picks it up as a gamepad instantly, and pressing the directional arrows results only in buttons being pressed. In other words, it doesn't send any directional (POV hat or X/Y axis) information. No special buttons need to be held. It just works.

There's a bright red LED that stays on while it's connected (doesn't blink or anything). No clue what it's significance is other than determining that the pad is working and not DOA.

For long-term DDR players, and even newbies, the same lies present in all third party pads are still here: The bottom isn't really "non-slip" by anyone's definition (is a thin rubber layer on the bottom really that expensive?). The "hard foam" is the same 5-layer crap everyone makes now. Incidentally, that latter lie is where the 1-star price came from in the review. If you're not going to actually include hard, dense foam, don't list it. First thing I did was throw that nonsense out and insert my old Ignition pad's foam. If anyone knows of any manufacturers that don't outright lie about this feature, please drop me a line.

In case you're wondering if it's worth spending twice as much on Amazon than it is on eBay, I'm only gonna say this: 1. Amazon's return policy is VERY friendly (they send you a shipping label to print and stick). 2. Due to that friendly policy, Amazon is probably a LOT less likely to ship you a bad pad.

All in all, this is a great pad. Keep in mind, I have no delusions about lastability. 150-180 pound user playing 9/10-foot songs daily for 1 hour will kill a pad in about 3 months. You WILL see a follow-up from me when this pad finally bites it. If it's in 1 month, the stars WILL drop. If it makes it more than 3, I might re-consider that foam penalty.

Our dorm bought 2 of these pads to replace our old Red Octane pads. We put the high density foam inserts from the old Red Octane pads in these new pads. They are NOT as sensitive as the red octane pads and the buttons are different sized, but you can get used to this over time. The only downside is all of us have problems with hitting/getting the back button to respond. This could just be chance on our part or a flaw in the design. These pads also slip more than the old Red Octane pads, so we ended up putting an exercise mat underneath them to keep them from sliding. In terms of wear, the pads have held up 3 months so far and are still going strong. For comparison, Red Octane pads seemed to last about a year at our dorm.

UPDATE:

So, the back arrow on one of the pads finally broke. The pads lasted 9 months with 6 people playing 3 times a week at 9-10-11 feet for approximately 2 hours each session. The other pad is still working.

UPDATE 2:

The other pad broke about 2 months later. We bought two new pads. One pad is still working great months later. The other pad's hardware (not sensors, which normally break after wear and tear) stopped working about 2 months in. Since a bunch of us are electrical engineers, we are looking into taking the hardware from one of the old pads and attaching it to this new pad.

UPDATE 3:

The second round of pads died after about 6 months heavy use. We have now changed over to

PS2 USB Energy HD 1" Foam Deluxe Dance Pad 3 in 1

First of all, the Foam Deluxe pad comes with the one inch foam if you don't already have it.

Second, the arcade buttons are way better on the Foam Deluxe pads!

The Foam Deluxe pads also seem to be more responsive than these ps3 ones.

Bottom line...these pads are okay, but as heavy users we have moved on to different pads.

This mat is indeed compatible with all ps3 systems but only the one with 4 USB ports. Those that have been discontinued basically. The newer ones with only 2 USB ports will not be able to use this mat. I went to the DDR site linked on Amazon to find that out. I have a backwards compatible 80GB system that has 4 USB ports so it will work with mine.

I was surprised to see that there is no Bluetooth connection for this pad. The picture shows no wire and other pads are wireless.

The instructions were laughably horrible. Here is an actual quote:

"Please not will dancemat to put the place which expose to the sun in the solar storm."

The pad itself seems to be high quality, and no skid. But for the price I expected it to be wireless as well.

How come nobody's heard of this game? It's massively underrated.

Although I didn't like it for the first couple of days, once I got used to how this game works, I had more fun with it than with any other game I've played in the last ten years, easily.

What a winner: it plays like a Michael Bay action movie! This is probably the only game I've ever played where instead of eagerly progressing towards "100% completion," I was despondent every time I made progress because I didn't want the game to end. As soon as it did end, I played it through again two times straight: something I haven't done for any game in at least a decade. I usually just pop out the disc and move to something else.

In this game, you play a soldier of fortune who is in Venezuela trying to get revenge on someone who shot him "in the upper thigh." For the most part, the game plays like any outing of GRAND THEFT AUTO, with the following major exception: there are no police to rein in your behavior. In those games, if you start shooting up the town and mowing down innocent bystanders, sooner or later the police will come, and they are eventually undefeatable.

In this game, though, there's no police. You can just create havoc and, as long as you can keep yourself alive, there are no real consequences for destroying stuff. Hence there is a lot of fun to be had in destroying stuff, and -happily -the gamemakers have seen to it that virtually everything in this game (except maybe mountains) can be destroyed somehow. This is a lot of fun in its own right.

The programmers made several brilliant decisions that wound up increasing the fun, and minimized those kind of things that don't. I'm thinking specifically of all those annoying things that in typical games you manage your character with; in other words, things that decrease the fun (e.g., remember having to eat, sleep, and work out in GTA? Nothing like that here.)

For example, every time you're in a vehicle and the vehicle crashes or explodes, you're ejected totally undamaged. Also, if you exit a vehicle (such as a helicopter) from a great height and fall to the ground, you'll typically live, albeit with just a couple of hit points left.

Put together, though, these two elements soon inspire you to play recklessly, boldly, and cinematically, thus ramping up the fun. It's one of the few games that's as entertaining to watch somebody else play as play yourself.

There are, however, many negatives I can think of. While it's true that I certainly had hours and hours of insane fun with this game, it's not perfect. I list the following not only because I get off on making complainy lists, but also in case someone at Pandemic is listening, someone who might have a hand in making a sequel.

First and most seriously, there are a lot of bugs. True, there have been a couple of patches, but there are still some very irritating bugs even after all the patches. In fact, I'd say this game is famous for them.

I will only list the most serious one: there's a serious problem with the latest patch, at least on the PS3. If you patch the game, you won't be able to play it (your game will freeze on the screen where you get to select your character). The only way to get it to work is uninstall the patch, reinstall the game, and play the unpatched, straight-from-the-factory version. It's been this way for years and the company, Pandemic (if that entity still exists), shows no sign of coming to the rescue. Ergo I would say that the biggest drawback for you as a player of this game is that its makers have apparently abandoned it.

Second, the game doesn't have a lot of tutorials for learning how to do this or that. Ergo there's a steep learning curve: you might play for days and days before inadvertently learning how something is done. C4, for example.

Third, the assignments you usually get are unimaginative: they're things you've seen a million times before, such as keeping an NPC alive while under fire, destroying a building before a timer runs out, fending off an attack on a structure until a timer runs out, etc. I can think of no respect in which this game is original or creative. Further, a lot of the mission justifications are horribly nonsensical (although the plot as a whole certainly makes sense). On "Jungle Cruise," they want to test their boat in a minefield? Sheesh. Why couldn't they have just said that their normal boat pilot has been taken prisoner, and in the meantime they need a good boat pilot to deliver these vital supplies? Etc.

Fourth, your fun is ruined a lot of the time by meaningless timers. The game sets timers on a lot of missions in which there is no reason at all for there to be a timer (e.g., when you have to test-drive the mechanic's off-roader). This makes many of the missions infuriating rather than fun.

Fifth, I think the game mismanaged the whole thing with the battling factions. I think all the HVT's should have been VZ, or unaligned. The way it is, it feels as though you're being punished simply for playing the game. You work hard to build up good feelings, and then you're basically required to ruin things?

Sixth, the penalty for dying (outside of a mission) is too stiff: you're teleported back to the PMC, fined 10K, and -most annoyingly -stripped of all your weapons and vehicles? Yow.

Seventh, while many missions can be completed with a variety of approaches, there are several missions which must be completed in a certain way, and nothing else is permitted. Here you've painstakingly assembled all these supplies and air drops precisely for such situations, yet Ewan is mysteriously "busy." In the first "Get Solano," for example, the player is treated unfairly, I think. You MUST accept a ride from Ewan, MUST drive up the road, MUST use the gift bunker buster (and not one of yours), MUST grapple the Anaconda to return to the PMC, etc. I was able to think of many ways of getting to that bunker and assaulting it with a bunker buster, but only THEIR way was allowed. Railroaded.

Eighth, there should have been a way to keep playing the game forever, until you got sick of it. As it is, once you're done with all the contracts, there's nothing to do. Why couldn't there have been an endless supply of assassination / demolition / transportation contracts, even after you've taken care of Solano? What a shame.

Ninth, many of the weapons you get during this game cannot really be used. At first blush, there is a bewildering variety of weapons available, but you'll discover when you're actually out there in the field that you'll only use 4-5. For example, the game is very heavy on airstrikes, but they can be used only very seldom. In reality, an area of enemies will have a lot of AA and SAM jammers which prevent the use of airstrikes. The problem is, by the time you've cleared out an area of all these items, you're in enough control of an area that at this point an airstrike would just be a waste of money. Same with the sniper rifle. By the time you're actually close enough to use it, you don't really need it.

Tenth, it's really unfair and illogical that your character can't look directly over his head. An Anaconda might be right over your head ripping you to shreds without your being able to grapple because of camera restrictions!

Lastly, the game sorely needs stealth. As it is, it's a waste of time trying to sneak around: the enemy can always see you, even through walls, foliage, smoke, etc. What would be great is if it also turned into night and during that time you could sneak around unseen using sniper weapons and a silence. That would have been awesome.

I heard Pandemic tried to make a sequel but couldn't get funding. Pity.

I seriously enjoyed this game. I'm 2 gold rankings away from a Platinum and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The game is very silly, very fast, and throws a lot of Saints Row 1-3 knowledge at you that if you don't know, you may miss a reference here or there, but it definitely doesn't subtract from the gameplay.

There is a huge variety of weapons, vehicles (though you rarely drive), and of course the super powers are great.

The story does move along and while this is more of a tribute to the series, it does provide an adequate resolution to the story with a pretty fun final boss fight.

However, my game had freezing issues. I can't tell if it's my PS3 or the game anymore, but especially when I opened up the menu multiple times in a few seconds by accident it caused freezing. Luckily I never had a corrupted save game file or anything and the autosaves are frequently enough, but that alone subtracts a star.

I will also complain a little about the controls. I felt they could have utilized the controller better. You use your D pad to select a power and a single button to activate that power if it's a ground stop, aura, energy blast or telekinesis. This makes it very hard to use a variety of powers at once. I would have preferred that ground-stomp to be its own button or motion, At least, but also finding a unique way to active auras (let's say.. shaking the controller?) would have cleaned up the control scheme a bit. Instead of feeling overall super powered you simply feel like you're changing weapons.

That's it though.

In terms of the Game of the Generation edition The rotating case is awesome, the dubstep gun is a lot smaller than it looks but it makes for an awesome cat-toy (it shoots a red laser out), the Johnny Gatt statue is perfect (I actually keep it in side of the spinning case instead of the game), the bag to cover the spinning case is surprisingly high quality... and the Dubstep Button is a nifty addition. I definitely don't regret getting this version.

Saints Row IV is a silly over the top game that is a less serious version of grand theft auto. Once you start playing it is hard to put down.

Regardless what controversy you have heard surrounding this game, it is at its core, Saints Row. A phenomenal experience as you probably already know. Saints Row moved in to fill the open world gap left behind after GTA San Andreas revealed itself to be the last giant sandbox by R* that would reside in the irreverent, comical vein of the genre. Saints Row is an amazing experience. Four improves the formula and gives you pretty much everything you have ever wished for in open world game. Nearly limitless character customization. Great dialog and story (assuming you understand you are getting Saints Row). Best of all in this value driven age, a ton of replay value. There are always more things to discover in these games. As always, the soundtrack is diverse, enjoyable, and has something for everyone.

Really, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't get this game. If you know how to laugh and like to have fun, this could be your game of the generation as well.

Greatness is a word I want to stress regarding this game. Drake's Fortune was great fun, a welcome departure from the end of the world/futuristic shooters predominating at the time. Among Thieves was the ultimate sequel and built wonderfully on all aspects of the first. Drake's Deception, the third entry in the series, is something else altogether. This game sets a new precedent for how inclusive and engaging video games can be. There will be some who won't feel so strongly but most anybody who loved the first two is going to LOVE this.

>Graphics 5/5 As always, fantastic! They have managed to improve on the sequel. While the game still looks the same overall it is the details that ND continues to add that makes each game an improvement over the previous one. This entry specifically seems to push the already present cinematic feel as evidenced brilliantly by its opening scene and chapter as well as numerous times during the game in cutscenes and gameplay.

They show off their abilities by purposely trying to show us different settings than the previous games. The London Underground is wonderfully designed, the Colombia streets are populated and lively, a temple found in Syria has a wonderfully cinematic design, etc. They also show off their ability to render fire, sand, some excitingly trippy hallucination style sequences where everything is warped, and a fantastic (if slightly out of place in the overarching story) swaying environment on a ship. Another nice touch is some levels occurring during day and others at night.

Character acting has again improved as much between this and the last game as the last game did over the original. Faces are fuller and more expressive (Chloe's face is major evidence of this). This game looks so good family members will stop to see what I am watching and so entertaining they then wind up sitting down to watch me play.

>Gameplay 4.5/5 Drake's Deception has everything you loved about the first two games, only more finessed and perfected. Enemies are now slightly smarter and diverge on your position quicker (though in some ways I'd argue this makes them easier to take down, no more pin downs). The weapons system has been updated and tweaked (anyone who played the beta knows aiming is more particular, but you quickly adapt). Drake now grabs weapons automatically when out of ammo, another nice added detail.

The best new feature seems to be the updated brawling system. In what reminds me of the recent Batman Arkham games, Nate can now evade, counter and take on multiple opponents. It's all great fun and plays well. The ability to dive underwater becomes well utilized in later chapters. The new ability to ride a horse is simple but works well, think of the jet ski from the first game only updated, you sort of just steer and shoot. Another nifty new detail is the ability to throw back grenades, though you have to time it well.

Having finished the game I will say objectively that any faults to be found are in gameplay pacing/mechanics. All games I've experienced have a sometimes clumsy quality to gameplay. On occasion you press a button and it doesn't do what you want, that's just part of gaming. In Uncharted this manifests itself when sometimes trying to reach for a specific ledge, it can look like Drake is doing calisthenics.

The other issue is more subjective but this game seems to have less prolonged gun fights (which I always enjoyed) and more of the game plays itself in a sense. Another reviewer said it best noting that the game holds the players hand more this go around (press square now, circle now, etc), this may please some but will definitely aggravate others looking for more challenge. Though this may be due to my having a better handle on the gameplay by this third installment it would still be nice if some new/larger challenges were added to compensate for those who have learned from the previous entries.

>The story 5/5 I won't give anything away but well crafted stories are a key reason for the popularity of this franchise, this entry doesn't disappoint in that regard. The actors perform great as always, so many nuances brought to the characters. This game takes the world of the previous games and expands on it. If the second game was a continuation of the story from the first then this game is an opening up of the characters, their world and the story being told.

A wonderful backstory for Nate and Sully is crafted and played out and a flashback of sorts is handled in a respectful way when it could've felt cheap or forced. There is a very Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade feeling here. This game has the mix of action, humor and romance that previous games had with strong emphasis on emotion in some key scenes (and for those concerned I felt Elena and Chloe's respective returns were well handled and logical continuations).

Another possible criticism though, the villain in this entry is formidable and compelling but when you finally reach the ending I don't feel she is as well utilized a final boss as either Navaro or Lazarvic. The villains overall are also not well explained, not that they have to be, some mystery is always nice, but how this one guy appears and vanishes almost magically at several points I'll never know. Then there is no real boss showdown. There is also a character, Charlie, who is fun but severly underdeveloped and largely used only for story purposes. These don't detract from the game at large but I mention them as I hope they aren't issues that will magnify as further installments are released.

>Online Content 5/5It was adding the online content to the sequel that propelled this series to a new status within the gaming world and here it looks like they aim to keep that status. So far it looks like all the fun of the Beta without most of the bugs or any of the restraints. Everything seems to run smoother and it feels more like playing Uncharted 2's online content, though perhaps this is because I'm more used to the updated mechanics after playing the full campaign? Anyway, you get more customization, more options, more everything.

>Conclusion > Game of the year? You better believe it. Certainly if you are new to PS3 or debating the commitment this game makes it well worth it. You don't have to have played the first two for this to be enjoyable (though I suggest both based on their own merits and to make this story even more enjoyable). While some game studios dream in the recesses of their mind only to wake and find it vanity, Naughty Dog are dreamers of the day. They act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible, and in making Drake's Deception, this they did.

The game is 22 chapters of greatness and should be a good 8-10 hours on the main story depending on player ability. Then there is the treasure hunting/trophies and acclaimed multiplayer to ensure you get well worth the $60 price tag. Overall I'd say this game could be critically rated at the worst 4.5/5 but as a fan I'll say anyone else who enjoys these games is going to rate it 5/5, no doubt.

Greatness from small beginnings is the phrase that starts out this story.

Uncharted 3 takes us to a whole new world of treasure hunting like never before. In this game, not only do you play as Drake, but as a young (child version) Drake as well. The story jumps back in time through out the game, where we learn how Drake and Sully met and become friends. A new woman is brought into the picture. This time, she's a former love interest of Sully and not Drake.

Rather than starting out the game in the middle of nowhere like Uncharted 2, this time you're in the heart of Europe in a British pub. But just as in past games, you are quickly jumping from location to location throughout the world. Each scene remarkably done and visually stunning.

On thing I really like that's different in the Uncharted 2 storyline is this time there's less issues with your team mates turning on you. In Uncharted 2, people on your team were often taking off, and you lost your allies as quickly as they joined you. In Uncharted 3, your team of 4 sticks with you and works together. Your not getting abandoned because you partner ran off with the bad guys, even if they were just pretending to be on their side.

The story is just as compelling as it has always been. Uncharted 3 plays out like a blockbuster movie, only you get to control the moves. Climbing, running, fighting and shooting your way through everything you can imagine, Uncharted 3 has managed to even out do their last game. As usual, while playing you also look for treasures throughout the game to collect. You have your journal again to help you solve puzzles as well.

The online game play benefited quite a bit from the open beta testing. The online matches are smoother and have less issues than there were months ago when they first opened the testing. I played quite a bit during that first month and can definitely see much more fluidity in the online game play movement versus how it was during beta.

This is not a game you will want to rush through. There is so much to see, treasure to collect and story behind it all.

I have noticed anyone saying anything bad about this game is called an "xbox fanboy" or the reviewer gets insulted.

Everyone has the right to their opinion and I happen to agree with the negative reviews about this "game".

This game was recommended to me by a friend and I had never played any of the Uncharted games before, but this game just seemed like very bland and repetitive gameplay. The chases especially drove me crazy after a while, it was like enough already.

New age games have all kinds of cut-scenes and very deep storylines, but its like you watch a little and you need to play through a little bit just to get to the next part so as opposed to it being like interactive it's much more one dimensional. This is the same type of complaint from everyone who gives this game negative reviews because it's true. The difference is some people enjoy this type of gameplay, I like many others personally do not.

The story is very good and so are the scenes and at points I found myself wanting to fast forward the gameplay just to watch the rest of it as I couldn't care less about playing it and in fact preferred not to as the gameplay was not that fun and seemed more like an interruption to me.

With a story like this and the way its setup the gameplay really is not necessary.

This game is very reminiscent of Tomb Raider with the puzzles and adventure and everything which is great, although I find it to be much slower paced and I found the gameplay is too forced and as I already mentioned feels almost unnecessary. There is no strategy involved or skill really you just need to make your way through to get to the next scene.

In any regard this game is certainly not worth 1 star like others have given it, but I just found it very slow and boring to play, but the story and cut-scenes are very good and anyone who likes a game like this will certainly love it, but if you are into more fast-paced arcade style games this is definitely not the game for you.

Uncharted 2 ended up being a smash hit. Perhaps one of the best video games sequels ever produced. It was better than the first game in almost every conceivable way. It's hard to imagine any follow up to Uncharted 2 being half as good but rest assured, Uncharted 3 is just as good as it's predecessor. If you played the first two games and enjoyed them then you simply have to play Uncharted 3.

The story in Uncharted 3 is a bit more rich and defined than the first two games. Nathan Drake is back and this time he's searching for the Atlantis of the Sands. It has something to do with the ring he inherited from Frances Drake. But a woman by the name of Katherine Marlowe believes that ring is hers and it ultimately holds the key to finding this lost city. On paper Uncharted 3 sounds pretty basic, but watching the story in action showcases a strong character driven narrative. In particular players will learn more about the dynamic between Nathan Drake and Sully. The cast is remarkable and charming. And we learn about them not just through the cutscenes but how they interact with one another during some of the moments in between the actual cutscenes. The dialog and banter between them is charming, humorous and sometimes even heartfelt. There are also moments that can, and often do, feel as though they've been ripped from a summer blockbuster. Though some of it is definitely over the top, the character driven nature of the story is what ultimately makes it so good. Like the first two there is a distinct human element at play that makes the simple situation an interesting one.

The cutscenes are aided by extremely good direction and motion capture as well. The characters feel human. But more than that, Uncharted 3 is simply a beautiful game. The environments the game takes place in are detailed and the animations are smooth. The Uncharted games in general are some of the prettiest you'll ever see. But it isn't just that they're visually astounding, it's that their detailed and encompassing. The environments come alive. Other details also stand out a lot. Water or sand is amazing and the way the physics work is also amazing. If there's one thing we can clearly say about Naughty Dog, it's that they'll never skimp on the presentation of a game. The voice acting is equally as good and charming. Some of the best you'll hear in the industry. As you play and watch the characters interact and hear their voices it's hard not to love them. You'll be drawn into their personal hell and anguish, but also their joy. It's all great on the eyes and ears.

Gameplay wise, Uncharted 3 hasn't changed too terribly from the first two. There is a good amount of gunplay, platforming and puzzle solving throughout the adventure and the game does a very good job of balancing them all and pacing things along. The gunplay in and of itself hasn't changed much. You'll find yourself charging from one firefight to the next, taking down the bad guys and picking up their weapons or replenishing your own supply of ammo. You'll also take cover to avoid fire and pop up to shoot when the time is right. You can also enter melee combat which is fun as well given how much it has improved over time.

The platforming sections are generally among the easiest to acquaint yourself with. You'll find yourself scaling walls or jumping from ledges or hanging off objects all in an attempt to keep yourself from falling too far. Despite all the detail, the path is usually laid out for you. This is also true throughout the entire game. You'll rarely get lost or not know where to go next. You'll also rarely find yourself backtracking as a result. Aside from a few of the hidden treasures off the beaten path, there's no reason to really deviate from your destination. And if something should happen where you find yourself stuck, the game will point you in the right direction. The puzzles are pretty creative and simple. You won't find yourself stuck for too long, given that the game will provide hints thanks to a journal that Nate carries around with him.

The game handles all of this well, rarely keeping you in any given situation for long. What is more amusing is how much adventure is truly packed into this game. The second game, in particular, had amazing moments: A helicopter chase across rooftops, an amazing train sequence, a game of cat and mouse with a large tank and a jeep chase were just some of the second game's highlights. Uncharted 3 does a little more. Without spoiling anything, you'll find some of these moments leaving you quite breathless at the spectacle. It's not the situations themselves that are amazing as it is how the game presents them. You'll even find yourself scaling and shooting at enemies firing from above and watching as they tumble forward and fall past you. It's amazing stuff.

Without a doubt the biggest overhaul is multiplayer. Before the versus primarily had you on teams but here you can do a free for all or three teams against each other at the same time. You still have other modes such as the co-op survival mode or a variation of capture the flag. You also still have tons of different boosters to equip. But you can also enter matches with temporary boosters (called kickbacks) which you can get by earning a certain number of medals. They're not permanent but they help for those who may need that small boost. Likewise, for those who want a truly hardcore experience you can always go onto the hardcore battle arena. The maps are also ingeniously designed. Not only are your opponents people you have to look out for, but so are some of the environmental effects. In one level a sand storm rolls in, for instance.

The most rewarding is the co-op experience. Sure you can still go into an arena and do a survival mode and whatnot, but there's actually a co-op campaign here as well. And it's a full blown story campaign, complete with cutscenes and everything. You can team up with two friends and go at it. It's remarkably satisfying and pretty addictive.

Uncharted 3 isn't perfect by any means. Like the first two before it, there's a lot of precision in playing. For example how the game times some of its jumps when say... platforms are falling from beneath you. Or cutscenes that run seamlessly into gameplay. If you're not on the ball you may find yourself retrying certain segments constantly. Some moments can feel like a trial and error practice simply because you don't know WHERE to go immediately and thus you fail until you figure it out. Since Uncharted 3, like the previous two, is very straightforward and linear you generally only have one option out of a situation. If you don't find it fast enough in some of the more time sensitive moments you're done for. In other situations your timing may be off by just a second. Uncharted has always been somewhat of a challenge but most of it comes from the first hand experience. When you play through a second time things tend to flow more seamlessly when you know exactly where you're going and what you're doing. The good news is that checkpoints are everywhere. If you end up failing a platforming section or a gun fight you usually tend to start right next to it. So the game won't punish you too badly.

Uncharted 3 is a great follow up to Uncharted 2. Whether or not the game is better is up for debate. The multiplayer suite certainly is, but for some fans who were truly blown away by Uncharted 2, they have to face the fact that the third game isn't exactly the same leap forward that the second one was. You've got new weapons, a revamped melee system and you can now toss grenades back to your enemies... but for the most part Uncharted 2 didn't have much that needed fixing to begin with. It was a near perfect game, addressing each and every issue the first game had. With not much to address there isn't much for Uncharted 3 to really improve upon. Or add, for that matter. In seems the only part that Naughty Dog strived for more with was the story. And they succeeded. You certainly get a much more emotionally involved story but the gameplay is primarily the same thing here. If you've enjoyed the gameplay of the series thus far, there's no reason not to jump into this one. The story and characters alone make this a must play for Uncharted fans.

Uncharted 3 is a solid, well-put-together first-party AAA PS3 title. However, I don't feel it's as good as Uncharted 2. That's not an entirely fair comparison, since Uncharted 2 was a masterpiece, one of the best games ever produced from a design, pacing and story standpoint.

The third Uncharted was really very fun, and one can tell the game design was absolutely top-notch. Really interesting and varied environments, can't-put-controller-down pace it's all there. But it just failed to draw me in. Whereas Uncharted 2 had me on the edge of my seat most of the game (especially with Elena's story near the end), 3 was very good but a little predictable. I didn't really care for most of the game what happened to Sully, and frankly the small plot twists were far from unexpected.

This type of game needs, I think, solid character relationships to draw you in. Elena Drake is a great relationship: an on-again off-again attraction of opposites. Once I had extended playtime with her by my side, I was really interested / attracted to her character. Sully? It's whatever. Somehow the character feels a bit too one-dimensional. To me, Kid Drake is a very bad design call the sort of hokey thing a AAA title really doesn't need to have.

And Uncharted 2 was HARD. If you cranked it up to Crushing there were some parts that were nearly impossible. Even on Normal the campaign was tough and long. Uncharted 3 feels a bit short by comparison, and really quite easy overall. Only two or three times did I feel really frustrated in an encounter / gunfight.

I also thought the Tibetan / mountain art style trumped the desert. Guess that's a matter of personal preference, but it does seem as if Naughty Dog had a lot more time to flesh out the art and level design in the 3 years between Uncharted 1 and 2 than in the one and a half between 2 and 3.

Definitely a great game, probably 8.5 / 10 I think, but not a must play game of the generation.

You probably already know all you want to about PS3 karaoke, but just wanted to mention one thing that seems to be "unique" to this PS3 karaoke game...

Although my other PS3 Karaoke singstar game (the one with the guy wearing big Rayban-type aviator sunglasses, white t-shirt, and holding a mic) allowed me to eject the ps3 karaoke disk, and insert ps2 karaoke disks ... this ps3 Abba one does not seem to allow that ... the ps3 Abba game seems to only allow me to insert/play other ps3 singstar disks (not ps2 ones).

Of course, as long as you've got at least 1 ps3 singstar game that allows you to insert ps2 singstar disks, you're good-to-go, but just make sure Abba isn't your only ps3 singstar game if you're wanting/expecting to be able to use your old ps2 singstar songs!

This is my very first 'singstar' product and I am very impressed with the game. yes, this is a game element to it other than just having a sing along. I love singing and sometimes off key too: game option 1 entails you sing along with prompter to match both crescendo and length -even as an ABBA fan, I realized I really did not know some songs as well as thought it was challenging! then the game will rate you. Now if you want a playback there you can (if you dare!).

Option 2 allows you to battle with another singer to see who hit the notes the best! Great game for parties.

I also checked out the on lone option: on writing this review there were ~750 songs and there is a British centric collection (this game was made in the UK), but plenty of songs mainly in the 80's, but also quite a lot of 2006-2009 songs too. Choices also included some duet songs too (which is another option that is offered on the game). the songs are saved on your harddrive and a little like the kindle you can retrieved it as long as you have a log on account (for when you have to replace your playstation console.

I thought this game was really well designed. You only need to buy one disc to access the online option. I am pleased that they are adding new songs to the collectioin (currently priced at $1.49 good value given that includes the prompter too). I also purchased the singstar microphones for PS2, which works perfectly with the game (if you want to save a little money, which is you choice and it is not wireless).

This is ABBA Gold as Singstar. I love singstar and I cant sing, but this singstar is fun. If you grew up listening to the songs of ABBA or just became a fan after watching the movie Mamma Mia, you will enjoy this game. Yes, you only get ABBA on this disk, but oh what fun you will have. It is also interesting to think that they made all of those videos in the pre MTV era. This is a fun romp through musical history.

I will start with the obvious, the game looks beautiful. The graphical

quality does not change between cutscenes and gameplay. Kojima and his team pulled out all the stops on the beauty of this game, as they have always striven to do.

Then there is the story. A lot of people harp on the Metal Gear Series because the story is full of twists. One person even said that the plot was twists and only twists. That person missed the point completely. Especially by the end of this game, it becomes apparent what Kojima had been pushing for. The message about humanity is clear... the MGS series has always been anti-war, anti-genetic determinism, anti-environmental determinism, every mistake that humanity has ever made with regards to war and control of the populous has been addressed in some way. Consider the history through which Kojima derives his inspiration. His home country of Japan experienced an apocalypse during WWII while causing an apocalypse in mainland Asia at the same time.

In all situations of war no matter who begins the fight or where it starts or ends, the young will repeat the mistakes of the old, and the old will let the knowledge gained from their mistakes slip away with death. Even the most heinous actions, deception, murder, are a means to an end, and the end is all that really matters.

Gameplay was spectacular. The MGS franchise is one of very few that has made significant gameplay improvements with every subsequent release. Control of Snake feels much more fluid, yet at the same time you can feel his age in the way he performs. Though he is more agile and powerful than the average human could ever be, he isn't quite the same old Snake. He is THE Old Snake.

Old Snake gets a lot of neat toys in this game, too. Most notably is his chameleon suit. If he lays flat, his suit will automatically adopt the pattern of the materials that are on the floor. By pressing the "triangle" button while up against a wall, he will adopt those coverings as well.

The second great toy is Drebin's shop. Drebin is a weapons launderer who gives Old Snake full access to replacement ammo and other supplies. ID Locked weapons can be converted to old-world weapons that do not require nanomachine permissions. There are A LOT of weapons in this game. First time through you probably won't get to experience all of them, and that is okay. Just check them out on your next run. The game is only about 10-15 hours long depending on how you choose to play. Also, through Drebin's shop Old Snake can modify his weapon. The first weapon, the M4 Custom is a good all-purpose weapon. It packs a decent punch and holds 30 rounds. It can be modded with a shotgun attachment, grenade launcher, or foregrip for stability. Laser sights and scopes can also be added to the M4 and other select weapons. So play around and have fun.

Toy #3 is the Metal Gear Mark II, Hal's minature Metal Gear Rex that is mostly harmless...mostly. When you need a buddy to turn the corner and remain unseen for you, Mark II can cast an invisibility cloak and make sure the coast is clear. If things get sticky, it has a shock wire function to incapacitate unsuspecting foes. The same tool can be used to knock on surfaces to distract your enemies and guide them away from Old Snake's true position. It is a neat little gadget that you may or may not find to be useful.

Next up, the enemies. In this game, it is impossible to hate the enemies you fight (except for Vamp) because they are amazing, flat-out. Whether they are GECKOS (bipedal beast machines), FROGS (all-female supersoldiers), or Private Military Company militia-men (remnants of their humanity will keep you grounded), or the Beauty and the Beast Corps (best enemies in of all time in videogames?), enemies are not just targets. Kojima and his crew made the enemies in this game characters to be admired. They neither have names nor faces, but they will f*** your day up very quickly if you do not respect their power. From the top down, they are all capable killers.

The humanity of this game lies within Snake's allies. Meryl, Eva, Hal, the Colonel, Mae Ling, Raiden, Rosemary, Naomi, and especially Sunny represent the other side of life. Old Snake is a manufactured product of war, the only life he has ever known. No machine can imitate or destroy the compassion that these individuals shared. This is passion. I won't go on, can't explain much else without major spoilers.

Gameplay, people, visuals, this game is stunning. Metal Gear Sold 4 exemplifies why videogames deserve to be celebrated as art. It has the story worthy of novel publishing, breath-taking visuals, engrossing music, and an all-around realism that we celebrate in paintings such as the Mona Lisa. If only more videogame producers put this much time and effort into a game. Production for perfection... long hours, perspiration, and inspiration to produce the culmination of one's efforts... that is art... this is art.

If you are a casual gamer, this is not for you. If you have never played the other MGS games, this is probably not for you. Play through MGS1-3 in order to get the story and gameplay straight, and then play MGS4.

For everyone who has been trying to compare this game to COD and HALO...come on. MGS4 is not a pure shooter. They put it nice and bold on the cover, "Tactical Espionage Action". That means be sneaky and use force only as needed. Play a "shooter" and judge other shooters with it. MGS4 is NOT, I repeat, is NOT a shooter.

Could this go down as one of the best games of all time? Absolutely. Game of the Year? For sure. It is in a league of its own. Nothing else plays like it. Few other games are as engrossed in the mystique of political/sci-fi conspiracy. Too few have such dedicated stories. In most games, the producer's passion is not as apparent. MGS4 had a 105 degree fever with Kojima's ardor for gaming perfection. The game feels like he and his team cared.

Hideo Kojima has done it again. MGS4 is the most detailed, convincing, and well-researched game I have ever played. It offers a compelling and imaginative glimpse into the future of high-tech warfare, a nuanced, intelligent storyline, vastly improved gameplay, and incredible graphics.

The metal gear franchise has always pushed the boundaries of what a game could be, and challenged the preconceptions of the audience. MGS4 starts out with, of all things, a short live action film about marine fauna. The in-game store discounts weapons (in real time) on wednesdays and sundays. These are just a few examples, but there are many more. The story has both the philosophical and political musings as well as the bizarre humor and one of a kind characters that fans expect.

The gameplay is more open and the action is more intense than in prior games. The environments seem much bigger and are bustling with npcs engaged in building to building warfare. Snake can join either side in the conflict or ignore them and sneak by. He has a ton of new weapons and gadgets as well.

The graphics are among the most impressive I have seen in a game. The characters are solid physical presences with subtle, lifelike facial expressions. The mechs move with an animal grace and hunt with a keen intelligence that belies their artificial construction.

Overall, the game is an experience that should not be missed by anyone with a PS3. If you don't already own a PS3, this game alone would justify its purchase. It is by far the most creative, original, and technically polished game to appear on the system to date.

Before I start... I do my fair share of gaming, but I'am by no means a very obsessive gamer. So I never really knew about Metal Gear Solid until I bought this game. I'm a huge fan of first person shooter games like COD, Resistance, etc. So I saw the ads and thought it was another military type shooting game so I went out and spent the $59.99 and got the game. I put the game into the PS3 and after about an 8 minute wait (becasue the game is so amazing that it needs time to load some stuff on to the PS, but you still need the disk to play the game!) the game started and I was completely blown away. I have played some really good games in my time and on many systems, but this has, by far, been THE best game that I have palyed on ANY system before. The quick down low on this game... the graphics... I give a 10/10. The detailing of the all the characters, the details on the machinery and the surroundings, it was awesome. The thing that made is so spectacular was the fact that the developers did put so much attention to the details that they did a very good job of simulating real life as best as possible. Another big pet peeve of mine is the acting of the characters in the game. I feel like it plays a big part in the gaming experience and people don't give it much credit. So for the acting another 10/10: the character voices fit the characters, and the voice acting was done superbly. The animation was also done extremely well, my only fuss about the animation is that you can't really read how the character is feeling by looking at thier face: the pretty much always put on the same face... but no game has ever done that really well either so I looked over that fact. Finally for game play I give 9/10. I give it such a "low" rating because quite frankly this game is a bit tough to get accustomed to (all though once you do... you're pretty much ready to kick some MAJOR BUTT). I guess a more crazy gamer would have managed to get all the controls down quickly... but for me it took me a while to figure out how to use all the controls. At first the menu that shows all your items, weapons, and an array of other things was very difficult to figure out. Once you got past that you had to actaully figure out how to use the items, weapons, etc. It took me the longest time to figure out how to use Med-packs... but that could also be due to my inabilities :-p. So basically thats why the gameplay is 9/10... overall its just a confusing interface to get used to, but once you do it gets very fun. Also the interactions in the game is awesome. Like the bad guys can figure out when you are there just by bascially seeing you (obviously), hearing you (also obvious), and smelling you (Yea... thats a new one on me too). So its really fun trying to sneak around all the levels w/o getting spotted... but fear not my first person shooter fans... there are thrills here for you too... if the baddies spot you, you're gonna' be pulling out some very nifty guns to shoot them: my fav. is the p90. Just before I end here, if you don't know about the Metal Gear Series (like myself) you won't really know what's going on in the game. In that sense it really sucks because you're just shooting and sneaking around w/o really knowing what's happening. The developers just assumed that you played previous versions so they just build on the stories of the last one's so you miss out a lot of the stories and things like that. But, I went on Wiki and basically read the story like a book so I was all set! And lastly (I promise this time) the game does feel like its more of a movie with some player interaction becasue the cut scenes are ridiculously long... so if you are'nt a cut scene type of person... you might not like this game. As for me.... I loved it!!!So basically this game is wicked fun and if you haven't bought it yet... you HAVE TO!!!!!

This is the first truly next-gen game to grace either console (PS3/360, the Wii is different). The sheer detail and feature sets are amazing. It's a singleplayer game with the benefit of multiplayer, unlike many games which are the reverse. This is crucial, as many modern games trend toward the opposite. The graphics are, to put it less than eloquently, "HAWT." Controls are fluid and very deep (the sheer volume of actions/interactions is staggering). This is a STORY-DRIVEN game, someting that this generation of games is often lacking imo. I haven't seen this much emphasis on this all-too crucial aspect since Lost Odyssey. The soundtrack is at times haunting and always appropriate, really accentuating the experience. The campaign is lengthy and rich. Warning, if you're not a fan of excessive cutscenes, you may be put off by MGS4 (although you CAN skip them). I for one love the game for this reason. There are so many little details that cater to the player's enjoyment, such as the ability to play music in-game on your virtual ipod, the songs and extras scattered here and there, and the inside humor. Even if you're unfamiliar with the series (I have experience only with the first Metal Gear Solid game) it's definitely worth a purchase. This is a system-seller plain and simple. Every gamer who calls themself as such should own it. The first truly next-gen does not disappoint. Snakes last dance must be experienced.

After three and a half long years of waiting, Metal Gear Solid 4 finally drops down on the Playstation 3. With a lot of questions to answer and some mighty big shoes to fill, Metal Gear Solid 4 is easily one of the most anticipated video games ever made. For the Metal Gear fan, the game is absolutely fantastic. Continuing an already mesmerizing story, Metal Gear Solid 4 proves to be one of this generations greatest games.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the conclusion to Snake's story. The game is told through some gorgeous cutscenes. There's a lot of detail to the characters faces, their actions and it has some fantastic voice acting to boot. You'll want to grab some popcorn, though, because there are definitely a lot of cutscenes in Metal Gear Solid 4, and some of them are really long. This is easily the biggest problem with Metal Gear Solid 4 and it's one that has often plagued the series. While the cutscenes are very dramatic and well written, and while they even shed some humor, some of them are just too long, some of them seeming almost useless. If a cutscene is getting a little long, though, it would be a grave mistake to skip it as you might miss some important parts of the story. And if there's any Metal Gear Solid game one should be playing for its story, it's this one. The other big problem with the cutscenes is how they come at you, even early on. There are moments where you'll play for a matter of seconds only to be sit through a cutscene that's several minutes long. At the very least, you can pause the game during the cutscenes. However, it's hard to get over the fact that some of them really drag on. When you get to play the game, though, Metal Gear Solid 4 is amazing.

Metal Gear Solid has always been about stealth. The same is true of Guns of the Patriots. The difference being that you're also in the middle of a war and there are two sides fighting against one another, the PMCs and Militia. You're able to help the militia and doing so can have its rewards, such as characters being willing to give you items or being able to go through certain areas more easily. Although, you can also turn the Militia against you.

There have been some improvements to sneaking around, though. The camouflage system has returned but it's much better. Rather than having to go into the menu constantly, Snake's camo will change automatically to blend in with the environment and help him evade enemies. You can also hold up enemies just like before, only this time you can perform body searches while holding them up rather than having to shake them down. You can also restrain them to the ground to knock them out. If you really need to get by an enemy and you're running out of options, you can always play dead. This also works when you get spotted and knocked down by an enemy.

There's also the implementation of the Solid Eye. This is more vital to sneaking around than anything. It works very similar to the radar in Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, showing you how much noise you or your enemy is making. Also new to here is the threat ring. The threat ring surrounds Snake at all times and will begin to act up depending on how close an enemy is to him. All of these seem like they'll take forever to get used to, but you'll quickly adapt. Just like previous games in the series, if you're spotted, you'll have to escape from the enemy and hide.

There are also moments where you can take control of a Metal Gear Mk II, a very small version of Metal Gear that is controlled by Snake. This little guy allows Snake to scout out the area ahead. You can also use the Metal Gear Mk II to stun certain enemies.

Lastly, Snake has a psyche gauge. This is very similar to the stamina gauge in Metal Gear Solid 3. The gauge depletes depending on how stressed or exhausted Snake is. You can refill this by eating certain snacks like Rations or Noodles, but you can also refill it by resting for a while. But there are plenty of factors that affect Psyche. For example, if Snake has been in the sun too long, you'll have to move him into the shade. If he's been in cold water, you'll have to get him out of it. As his psyche gauge gets lower it becomes harder for him to perform certain actions, such as being able to aim properly. In other words, from time to time Snake will need to rest. Though there are also certain points in the game where his psyche gauge is restocked automatically.

You won't always be in stealth mode forever, though. There will be times when you have to fight, and the shooting mechanic works much better in Metal Gear Solid 4. When you're thrust into combat, the game plays very similar to a third person shooter. Allowing for more precise aiming and no longer forcing you to go into first person view to land a well placed shot. There's also a weapon shop where you can purchase, upgrade or customize weapons to your liking, another element that works to your liking and gives Metal Gear a lot of customization.

All this variation in gameplay means that Metal Gear Solid 4 has several different ways to approach it. Combine it's various gameplay elements with a selection of difficulty levels to up the challenge, and Metal Gear Solid 4, like the three before it, becomes a game you'll want to replay again and again. Sometimes it's just fun to mess around with your enemies or just to see how else you can go about a certain area.

Visually, Metal Gear Solid 4 is incredible to look at. There's a ton of detail in the environment, and the atmosphere is also a good one. You're very much immersed in the world of Metal Gear Solid 4. There are a couple of load times that can be annoying, especially the installation. The camera, while it's great, can sometimes be a pain. It's easy to control, but sometimes you'll find yourself fighting with it.

Music wise, there's a memorable score to Metal Gear Solid 4. There's a lot of voice work as well. Much of it is great, although at times you will get the feeling that some of the voice actors and over-acting. On the whole, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a beautiful looking, (and sounding) game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is an amazing experience. If you can handle lengthy cutscenes you'll be satisfied with the final results. If you can handle a couple of annoying load times, you'll be satisfied. The amount of gameplay here is incredible, and the fact that there are so many ways to go about each area is also a lot of fun. For Metal Gear fans, Metal Gear Solid 4 is easily the reason to own a Playstation 3.

When Epic Mickey was released on the Wii, I cried a little… A game about classic Disney literature, games and movies all tied with a neat little bow, aka beautiful graphics and a timeless appeal of faithful recreations(does that level look like the original NES game?!??) and hidden aspects for those of us that truly love Disney (including hidden Mickeys) and know all the little references that no one else does… but I didn't own a Wii. I almost went and bought one to try it. I'm a Disney nerd and that looked like heaven to me. But I waited… it wasn't worth paying that much to try one game.

Now, the sequel is finally released and I was SO excited that I was finally going to get my time with Mickey since it was released on a stronger/better console (sorry Wii fans, just the facts). And for the most part it's what I wanted, but in other ways I'm sorely disappointed. Let's separate it into two different categories… what works and what doesn't.

Here's why I love parts of it, and why it deserves AT LEAST 3 stars:

1) Disney NerdvanaThere are references to classic materials EVERYWHERE. I own most of the old films (I'm talking the classic shorts, etc) and there are references literally everywhere. Every time I turn a corner I revel in yet another reference that I know few else are seeing the same way. Classic movies, games, stories, materials (including lunchboxes and old school Mickey Mouse Club records on turn tables) pamper the areas with nostalgia. I'm only in my thirties, but I love all of it and I've done my research as a Disney nerd… the creators made this with pure love and I'm loving how much attention to detail they put in this thing. Not only that, it looks VERY nice. The worlds are recreations of Disneyland, rides, etc. This thing takes on Disney with a passion and leaves nothing out.

2) Classic costumes and collectiblesDressing as Steamboat Willie and running around 2D sepia-toned platform levels feels so old school that I love it. Finding pins to trade and collect… let's see, when am I going back to Disneyland again??

3) Using paint and thinner is a lot of fun and I love watching things change with me painting or thinning them out. It's almost mesmerizing to watch. Fun effects, though simplistic they may be.

Here's why I can't possibly give it MORE THAN 3 stars:

1) Camera controlsthere are times I move towards a wall and the camera flips dramatically on me. Suddenly I'm running off a cliff because the camera won't turn the way I want it to. Very annoying.

2) The Power of Two?this game was meant to be played with 2 people multiple times… and that's its downfall. I'm in my thirties and can get around just fine, but my kid can't. We play games together and she loves that, usually, but this game… she gives up out of frustration. The challenges are often too simple for me to solve, but too complex for my 5 year old and too flawed for her to get the character to the area she wants it to go. So she gave up and won't play with me anymore. Now I'm playing alone but can't get everything I want since I can only do this by myself now. Many hidden challenges and puzzles (the whole reason I wanted this game) can only be solved with two actual players. Sure, Oswald can help as an AI, but there is the next issue…

3) Oswald's A.I. (Annoying Intelligence)Oswald runs in my way all the time. He jumps on my head, pushes me off cliffs and platforms, knocks puzzles around when I need them in key areas, and never quite does what I need him to do. He is supposed to help, but I find myself often smacking him out of the way to avoid him causing me more issues. And then he yells at me for it. It gets old, fast…

4) Who is this game for anyway??: This is too nicely designed for a child to appreciate to its fullest. They won't understand the intricate details of the backgrounds and hidden references. They'll also get frustrated when Mickey can't jump high enough or Oswald doesn't do what he is supposed to. However, the developers didn't take enough time to fine tune it for an experienced gamer either, thereby causing me to get frustrated when I know what I should be doing, but can't accomplish it without multiple efforts due to bad programming or design… so I'm not sure who their core audience was in this game… kids or adults… In my opinion, it doesn't meet either of our needs/wants. The fact that playing with two experienced (most likely teenage to adult) gamers needs to happen will be unlikely in a game with this many flaws for as long as needed.

5) The power of consequenceI love games with consequences. I believe that if I make a decision that is bad, that should affect me throughout the game. The developers believe this too, but they didn't think it out very well. For instance… the second town you go to, you are supposed to find a way to get to the next area. If you really don't explore a lot, you'll find the path really easily. BUT, this game is about removing and painting items in to change your surroundings and find clues and secrets… so right at the beginning of the town I find a secret alleyway through a building (SCORE! I love secrets!) so I take the passageway only to find out that this is an alternate way to my next objective… and that's a BAD thing I guess because by finding the secret pathway, I've made the town get hurt by thinning out certain walls. I didn't know I was doing a negative consequence until it was too late and someone yells at me. Now, hours later I return to the town and they charge me extra for items since I was a jerk before… though an unintentional one. For a game that encourages secrets and exploration, I shouldn't feel discouraged for finding and taking one. There was little for me to know that I was going to my next objective but in the wrong way… I've had several situations like this as well… For instance I wasn't supposed to hurt monsters in one area, so Oswald took it upon himself to attack them for me, thereby making a character mad at me. This is a major flaw in the game system and one that discourages me the most from continuing onward. I can't play things out the way I want to and feel scared of finding secrets now. I always try to play through a game the first time as a nice character if given the option… so far, with really trying to be good, I am about 50/50 on doing things the nice way…

6) A sequelThis IS a sequel. They expect you to know that, and I did… but they played it out like I knew ALL the events that occurred in the first game. Dear game developers: Thanks for releasing this on new consoles… perhaps you should have considered that for some of us, this is our first time around with Mickey since the first one was only released on the Wii?? I still feel lost on certain key plot points… It's not enough to really ruin it for me, but the events of this game rely heavily upon your knowledge of the first game. You don't have to know it all, but you won't get as much out of it as you want… like me.

That being said, is it fun? Yes actually, and if you're a hardcore nerd like myself it may be worth looking into anyway and dealing with the frustrations, but I wouldn't pay more than minimum price for this game, whatever you consider that price range to be. Just take what I said into consideration… if you can't get past the annoyances listed above, you should probably stay away from it. If you are okay and still want to give it a try with a little patience… I still gave it 3 stars. That should say something on its own. But next time, if there is one, I hope they put as much attention into the programming as they did with the designs and nostalgia.

So close to greatness… And yet still so far.

I bought this for my niece and after purchasing it for almost 60 bucks for her and reading the online reviews I got nervous. Dont be the game looks stunning in hd and the disney world is incredible the camera is clunky but it is nothing major like the reviews make it its a ton of fun and really will give you a nostaligic good feeling even the adults, I had no complaints from the kids and the adults in the room all had a blast. If your getting sick of these bs propaganda games like black ops call of duty and want something simpler for the kids or the kid at heart check it out its refreshing and old fashin fun.. mabey the developers didnt pay enough for a great review it doesnt add up a ton of work went in to it and it looks fantastic! nitpicking at its finest

Unfortunately, this game falls way short of the creative and artistic genius that inspired and delivered the first Epic Mickey. The artwork is beautiful, but the storyline and plot are weak and unresolved at the end, unlike the first game where Mickey actually accomplishes something. Game play is confused and confusing. The co-op nature of the game is awkwardly executed and becomes annoying after a while, as Oswald is more of a vestigial organ than an actual character you can fully control, and ends up getting in the way of your game play at most times. Very poor implementation and design of a co-op game. Designer's intentions were good, but we all know where those usually lead.

Game play is also extremely short, which is typical of a product that has been rushed to market. Very sad when expectations are set so high.

We just fell prey to a glitch at Club 13 which makes it impossible to continue on or go back. Since the game auto saves, there is no second save file to go back to and we had to start over from the beginning. The game had been amusing up to that point.

This is my review and game play video of Green Day : Rock Band +.

Background:

I was into the punk scene back in the late 70's early 80's. The bands I grew up listening to all had a very tough time making any real money. Even the big ones like Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, Black Flag, all did pretty well but never were able to achieve any sort of real fame. Move ahead to the 90's and bands like Nirvana took some of the punk sound and changed it enough to become what we called Grunge. Those bands did well to get enough popularity to make it big on the college radios and eventually made it mainstream. It was not until Green Day came around did I hear what I enjoyed so much as a kid. By then I was an adult serving in the military over in the Gulf. It was really cool to hear those 3 chord progression riffs and wickedly fast drum beats that got my blood pumping.

Now I am a dad with 2 kids. I missed out on the real punk years and I guess I could be called a sell out poser or something. Instead, I think that I moved on, but my taste in music still has its roots in the old days of the Sx Pistols. Green Day adeptly captures this sound and because so many of us are now in our 40's we hear this sound on the radio.

As I was playing this game my mother was visiting for my daughters birthday. She watched me play it and commented on the fact she liked 4 of the songs. Thats pretty incredible considering when I was a kid, more mild music she said was awful and wouldn't listen at all...

About the game:

This game is very similar to what you saw (if you had it) of Playstation 3 The Beatles: Rock Band . You play different periods of time. You start in the early successful years of Green Day. About the time of Dookie. You can jump in each concert and play a few different songs from a couple of their early albums. Or you can jump ahead to their most recent release 21st Century Breakdown and play a 2009 concert. Each concert has a set list that you play through. As you get at least 3 stars you earn a sticker and can move on. The more songs you finish the more fan songs open up. What is cool is if you just like Green Day as a passing interest and know just 1 or 2 of their songs, you will probably find enough to play as a rental. If you are a deep fan, loving every song they have ever made, you can unlock almost all of them by finishing all sets and challenges.

Trophies:

The better you do the more stickers you can stick on Billy Joe's guitar. Also for hard core Rockband people you can do some really tough challenges to achieve trophies. Some are pretty easy like playing 10 songs at 3 stars or more, or, you can go and play left handed and score 100% on 5 songs in a row. There are like 300 different trophies from what I have seen and I have only unlocked 2 of them. So there is a bunch of replay-ability.

Rockband:

Like other real band titles you cannot change the look of your character. Instead you play as one of the real members of the band. They are stylized and pretty accurate models of the members of the band. If you have ever played a rock band game you will feel right at home here with this title. I do recommend doing the calibration right off the bat. I thought I would be ok and it took only 2 songs of me missing 95% of the buttons for me to see it needed to be calibrated. Manual calibration was pretty easy and there is an auto mode if you have a controller equipped with that.

Overall:

I really like this release from Harmonix. I was in a punk garage band with my friends back in the 1980s. We wanted to be big time. Alas it never worked out, but, with games like this I can at least pretend. That is what gaming is all about. Its a way to leave reality and be something you are not, and probably will never be. Thats cool.

Recommendations.

Hook your PS3 output up to a large amp receiver or system and turn it up to 11.

I picked this up at midnight on release day and played for hours! It is so much fun and is a must for any Green Day fan. It features all the songs from Dookie, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown and a number of other songs from their other releases. You can do a career mode where you start out playing smaller venues and the bands earlier songs As you progress you play more recent songs and play larger and larger venues. The game play is spot on with the other Rock Band releases and the graphics are great. I am a huge Green Day fan and this is a video game dream come true! If you like Green Day and want to play their songs in Rock Band, you need to buy this game! It is a ton of fun!!

The Plus edition of the game includes the normal version of the game, with the addition of an export key (so you can transfer all the songs to your Rock Band library to use in the non-Green Day version of Rock Band) and a key to download 6 more GD songs from the Rock Band store.

I was a bit disappointed (mostly because I didn't look at specs) that this was not a dual-shock controller, so the functions of tilting the controller, like my other PS3 controllers, does not work. If I would have known, I would have saved money and just bought the faceplate to put on my existing controller.

I bought this PS Brand device to maintain charged my ps3 accesories away from my ps3's USB inputs, and I must say this adaptor works great .

I bought this not only to charge PS3 controllers but anything that needs a USB port to charge. I can use it on my GPS, my Zune, my cell phone etc. I can even plug this into a cigarette plug adapter that's in my car and charge my electronics on the go. so i have tried out a few other chargers before this one had be released from sony. the one thing i did not like about the others is you would have to unplug it to stop it from using power.

the Sony PS3 AC Adaptor on the other hand only uses power when it is charging the controller it self which is a great plus when you plug your dead controller in and leave it over night.

the product comes with a extra USB cable (Type A Mini-B) but only has two USB slots which to me does not matter seeing i only need to charge one controller at a time.

also this product is great for for not having to plug your controller in to your PS3 (which i hated doing)
