Just a note: If your PS3 was previously hooked up with anything other than composite you need to reset its video settings by holding the power for 10 seconds (from standby) you should hear it beep and the video will show up.

This cable does the job of moving those images to the old-fashion 3-cable output TVs. However, keep in mind: The quality of data that is trasnferred from the PS3 and the TV through this cable is lower compared to that of an HDMI. So even if you have a high quality TV but are still using this cable, you may notice a reduced resolution due to the fact that you're not using an HDMI output/input.By all means, the picture quality is still great, but if you can go HDMI I highly recommend it. The reason I'm giving this a 5-star is because this cable does its job properly, and I've had no connectivity issues.

My son has the larger PS3 and needed to hook it up to view on our Sony (analog) TV. The product description (i.e.,"Composite AV Video Cable for SONY PLAYSTATION 3 PS2 PS3") led us to believe it would work with his PS3. Unfortunately it did not. After reading the reviews I took my chances.This didn't work even once with my 120GB ps3 slim.
I don't know maybe I was unfortunate but I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.
