I can only recommend this as it is one of only two options I know of for controlling the PS3 with a remote, and as my reasoning finds, it is the superior option. My conclusion is from the following line of thought: paying under $20 is better than whatever the Logitech converter is currently selling for --at the time of writing I think it is upwards of $40 just for the adapter, which does not come in a bundle with a remote. The Sony remote works and any more praise beyond "it works" seems analogous to praising the superiority of one factory TV remote to another.
If you don't like the hassle of using the game controller to control your video disc navigation, you don't want to buy into the Logitech system, you should buy the Sony remote.

so glad we bought this! we use our playstation3 to watch many blu rays. we used joysticks until we bought this remote. seriously I don't know we waited so long to buy it...it is so much easier to play movies now!!totally worth the money!
