I have been gaming for a long time. I am 30 years of age, and I have my share of systems. From the Atari 7800 to the Wonderswan so I know gaming. Also, I am a developer to boot.

With that said, I think this game is a great game for any adventure lover. I myself, love adventure games like The Legend of Zelda series as well as Ico. I am not saying that this game is up there in terms of quality, but I will say that this game doesn't deserve the negative review scores that some sites have given it.

I have just finished the second boss battle, and let me tell you, it has my full attention now. Some sites were talking about the backtracking in the game....that's bull. If you are a person who wants every treasure there is to collect, then you will back track a lot. I am that person so I can verify the back tracking aspect.

I will admit that the combat has not changed that much, but you will be so enthralled with the game that you will not notice the repetitive combat. Put it this way, if you play fps's, then all you do is shoot right? Not all fps's are like that, but most of them are. This is not a jab at fps's, I am just giving another prospective to the term repetitive.

I am 7 hours and 36 minutes into my adventure and like I stated above, I have just beaten the second boss and now headed to the next area. I will give you a little insight on the second boss fight. Majin has acquired the electricity ability so you will use this to fight this boss. What happens is you will have to line some electrical conductors up to get the Majin to strike it with it lighting ability. When you have them lined up the way you want, you get the Majin to hit the gong to make the boss come towards the sound. When he comes over, you have to get the Majin to use his electric ability on the conductors. This is a vague description, but I just wanted to explain a little bit of the game.

Lastly, I want to say something about the voice of the Majin. When you start to get into the game and learn more about the story, you will come to love this guy. I genuinely care what happens to the big guy. He has such personality, and that is whats lacking in todays games. You will start to care about the Majin and the annoying voice will become a joy.

I Can't believe I just found out about this game. It came out last year and flew under my radar! I stumbled upon this game on the PlayStation Network as a playable demo and IMMEDIATELY found it on Amazon. This game has GREAT Graphics and a real nice story line. The relationship between the two main characters is very believable and moving at times. The Powers gained as you level-up and discover more fruit and special chest are super fun. I love this Game. I wish there was a part two!

It's a shame that this game's release got overshadowed by Enslaved. North American critics disliked this game only due to the giant's voice in the English version, but if you can bear his cuteness, this game is really something. It's a mixture of Ico, and Castlevania SOTN: the world is a maze of enemies and excellent puzzles, complete with hidden walls, transport rooms, and helpful companion. The combat is really exciting, the story is pleasant, the environments are strikingly beautiful, and after 25 hours I didn't want the game to end. One of the best action adventure games I've played in a long time.

There are very few products that give me the desire to write reviews about them; however, this game has inspired me to write quite possibly my first review.

I'm somewhat new to the PS3 world...or just the Playstation World in general. Prior to being a playstation gamer, I was only accustomed to PC games and my dad's old Atari. Thanks to my brother, I'm slowly getting into the modern world of gaming. Most of the games that I've been introduced to are all first person shooter. Don't get me wrong, I like shootin' down a Nazi Zombie here and there, but I was interested in finding something more adventuresome with a great storyline.

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is a game that at long last has quenched my thirst for a good adventure. It has an incredible, though cheesey at times, storyline. The storyline doesn't wander, nor does it become complicated. Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is the story of an unnamed and unlikely hero who finds both a partner and friend in the Majin. Together the two outcasts grow in friendship as they fight enemies and solve puzzles to save the Kingdom from the Darkness.

The graphics, in my opinion, are pretty incredible. If there was any complaint to be made in regard to the graphics, I suppose it would be that when the Majin follows you too closely, you can't really see his body--just his yellow glowing eyes. This was literally my only complaint in the graphics department and to be honest I wasn't even sure if it was an error or if it was just one of the Majin's traits.

One of the greatest things about this game is that it is challenging, but is not an unbeatable game. This game does require thought and dedication, so if puzzles are something that leave your head spinning with ease, then I would avoid it. True, there is a bit of back-and-forth in the game, but only a little. Just as other reviewers mentioned there are secret chests, memory shards, armor and such that can be obtained only by backtracking. The Majin has certain powers that he acquires from eating different types of fruit. As the game progresses, the Majin will gain more abilities and become more powerful. There are certain areas where the secret chests, memory shards, armor, and such can only be obtained after acquiring a new power further ahead, then returning to the area with the newfound power to grab the goods.

I suppose the only major complaint that I would have is the actual closeness of the Majin when he follows you. Sometimes, I would be trying to climb up a ladder or jump onto something only to have the Majin blocking the way. This, however, is a simple fix. I just had to instruct the Majin to wait in a spot that would not cause him to block where I needed to jump or climb.

Overall, I gave this game five stars, because I felt it really deserved it. A star for not losing my attention; a star for great graphics; a star for great puzzles; a star for all the achievements; a star for the playful humor between the main characters.

Never once did the game lose my attention. While the Majin appears to be a magical beast capable of great strength he his truly just a big kid at heart. I became enthralled with the relationship between the hero and the Majin. As the Majin's story grows, I sort of found myself loving him more and more. It is clear that the Majin has a huge heart and as I played the game, after being captured into the adventure story, I fought not just to save the Kingdom, but to protect that huge and loveable heart of his.

It took me about 15 hours to fully beat this game, there are $60 games out there that don't offer that much playtime. The gameplay is great. Controlling the Majin is always fun, climbing around is fun. All of the adventure elements are well-executed. The open world concept works really well too, along with the day/night cycle.

The graphics are decent. The grass and foliage look great but other things look dated. Doesn't matter though, after a while, you won't even care.

The story is very simple, and that's how it should be for a game like this. Many people have complained about the voice of the Majin. I personally like him. When you start to learn about his past, you begin to really like him. The interaction between the Majin and the main character is very well-done too.

Considering how cheap this game is, I don't see how anyone could go wrong with it. It's much better than many recent adventure game flops(Forgotten Sands anyone?)
