This is a high quality arcade fightstick . Once you get used to the Sanwa JLF if you have never played on a japanese style machine, you might have some trouble here you will certainly improve your fighting game experience.
It is not so heavy, so you can comfortably play with on your lap. It will also stay steady. I plugged it to my notebook (Intel mobo) and it was recognized as "Madcatz Fightstick TE" and worked perfectly.
Cons:
Once you use it, it will be difficult to put the usb cable back inside its compartment;
Since it was design to play SC V, the button config is a little bit strange.

This is my first fight stick to purchase, and I am quite happy with what I got. The unit is quite sturdy and heavy, but not overly so. I expected the stick to have 8 "corners" inside but it only has 4, which turns out to be just fine. The only complaint that I have is that the door on the area in the back where the cord is stored is flimsy and seems like it's going to break when I have to stuff the cord back into it. I wish they had made that a little sturdier. Aside from that compartment, I'm really happy with this purchase. I've already significantly improved my game you won't believe what a difference a good stick like this makes.

This is a high quality stick just like all the other TE sticks by MadCatz. And it's gorgeous too boot. Blue on one side, red on the other, grey in the middle, completely translucent. If you're a Soul Calibur fan this is the stick for you. Though not numbered, I'm pretty sure this will be a limited run just like the Chun-Li stick was so you better move if you want one.It's got the good stuff you'd expect from a TE stick. Sanwa joystick and buttons. 13 foot cord. Very good weight to it so it doesn't move around during lap play. Did I mention this thing is gorgeous?
I highly recommend this for newbies looking for a good first stick and collectors alike. You can't go wrong with it.

The stick itself is good. The artwork is amazing and the buttons are smooth! It seemed a little bit unresponsive at first but maybe it is because it is my first stick. This thing got me enjoying fighting games again. I mean, it didn't suddenly make me good at SF4, but it's certainly a lot more fun to play the way it was meant to be. If you have any plans of buying a lesser stick and upgrading its parts, I'd recommend just skipping that step and buying this stick. Aside from the Sanwa upgrades, the stick is heavier, wider, more durable, and more comfortable to use. It also has its own cable storage! The only odd thing about the stick is the button layout. Before the purchase I was wondering why people were complaining about it, but using it I realized that it's a bit awkward to use in-between the fighting--in menus and such. Still, I find it to be a very minor problem that does not hinder my experience with the stick. Highly recommended.Oh, and one more thing: if you plan on opening the stick to change any of its parts, DO NOT try to unscrew the screws holding the rubber feet. It took me about a half hour to unscrew them just to realize that those four screws don't hold the plate on at all. Only unscrew the smaller screws, and the plate will come right off.
