Child of Eden is the spiritual successor to the extremely trippy and spacial game Rez. Its an incredibly unique game that feels alternately like a bold artistic statement, a retro-style rail shooter, and a mushroom trip. After a very beautiful CGI/Live-Action intro movie setting up the single-paragraph story, you're dropped into a discombobulating tube of tetrahedrons, worm-like crystalline entities, and pulsing electronic music. Its honestly one of the most visual-and-auditory intense experiences I've ever had off of my TV. Definitely make sure you don't have epilepsy. The gameplay is quite fun, and though the game is a bit short if you blast right through it, I find its one of the most unique and "...whoa." inspiring games in my collection. It supports Move controls which I haven't yet played with, but others have reporting a bit of drift and delay on it. It does seem like it would be a more natural interface for aiming however.

This game is absolutley a trip and there's nothing out there like it. If you're into shooters or music games you will love it. Its from the guys who brought us the legendary game Rez back in the Dreamcast days. The way I played it was with the Move controller on the Type B setting. You point at the screen and either hold the trigger to rapid shoot or hold the Move button to lock-on and shoot multiple targets. It works perfect. I also played it in 3D on a 73" television with 5.1 DTS surround sound. Its simply one of it not the best experience I've had in my 30 years of playing video games.

Warning: If you don't play it in 3D or with the Move then this game might just seem like any other shooter/music game. You might even find Rez to be superior. But play it the way it was intended with Move/3D and you will have one of the best gaming experiences ever.

This game is just amazing. The lush graphics, the intuitive controls and the overall amazing gameplay are more than I can even put into words. Looks like some reviewers beat me to the description of the game, but I can assure you that if you like beauty, fun and relaxing gameplay, this game is for you. All together it is an unforgettable, experience. There has been some criticism about it's short length. They say it is about an hour. Any other game would be terrible if this was the case, but Child of Eden is perfect in every way. It has immense re-playability. The beautiful and enjoyable experience is not diminished very much at all no matter how many times I play it. Out of all the games I own, this one is the shortest, but I play it more often than I do them. Definitely get this game. I cannot talk this game up enough, you just have to experience it.

Yes it basically is REZ 2. We get HD graphics new terrific music and a controller that matches the gameplay perfectly. There are only a few levels and like REZ you can play in free mode. There are lots of unlockables and levels require repeated playthroughs. I couldn't get this game to play at all correctly at first but I put my camera below my TV instead of on top and switched the controls to TYPE B which allow you to lock on with a button instead of flicking, and with these two changes was off and running. This is a beautiful game I can only imagine what it must look like in full crispy 3D but I am addicted to the trigger happy action and music. 720p has never been this gorgeous. For the right gaming mindset this an experience unlike any other and feels great with the MOVE after a few option tweaks, play it loud with surround sound.

Bought this for my nephew, he loved it. It makes me completely queezy to watch. I am not a gamer, it does not seem to bother him. He was excited to have it for the PS3, but recommends some wand sort of thing.
