I am a little late to the "show" but I am sure glad I finally arrived here! I just picked up the PS3 system 2 weeks ago. I am from the school that felt MVP baseball 2005 was hands down the best baseball game ever made for console gaming. I read numerous reviews on this game at various sites and was really shocked at the clear line of love it or hate it type of write ups. A little background on my gaming expereince for you youngens out there. I have been playing video games since the Atari 2600 (I still have that thing in fine working condition in a box with over 100 carts). Back then Intellevision was the bomb for baseball.Nintendo had Baseball Stars, and Bases Loaded the Second Season (both classics). On Sega Genesis we had RBI Baseball, and the sweet World Series Baseball. Then the Playstation had EA's Triple Play baseball,All Star Baseball and of course the legendary MVP 2005 for PS2. For this review I can tell you this game is being played on a 32' Sony XBR Bravia 1080P LCD with Digital Surround and HDMI video.

I will list my custom settings which I have found to be very challenging and at the same time very rewarding. These settings thus far have made for a very realistic gaming experience without the extreme amount of frustration that some have shared. Over time I am sure I will turn down and turn up these various settings as my skill in the game gets better with repeated play. I recommend these particular settings if you have had a good amount of baseball video gaming experience with either The Show or the MVP series, have a good working knowledge of the game and also if you are/were a ball player.

All Star difficulty

No hot/cold zones

No Strike Zone marker

No hitter zone marker

Yes to ball marker to line up the pitches even though the controller shakes if your out of the strike zone it does make things a tad easier and more enjoyable.

Yes to 1/6 guess pitch and location I believe part of baseball is to anticipate certain pitches and location at crucial times and to be rewarded like you would in real life with a solid hit or a majestic blast out of the park! This allows you to sit on a pitch that you guessed right. Or if you don't want to guess the pitch but know he will pitch you down and away that helps and you should be rewarded. Knowing location has it's rewards too! I played a game last night and just knew this pitcher was going to come at me inside....I promptly crushed one over the right field wall BOOYA!!!!!!

New Running control set up very easy to use as I will explain below.

Yes to API (Adaptive pitching intelligence) where the cather calls the game for you and you can either shake him off or follow his lead. I like this a lot! And don't be afraid to shake off your catcher. They do call for more fastballs then they should....shake him off and throw that change up or breaking ball!

All throwing, fielding, running, and sliding set to manuel

Yes to the Fielding ball marker and steal the HR marker.

Yes to umpire strike zone variabilty

No CPU comebacks.

As far as my sliders go without being long winded the only adjustments I made were:

Turning up 2 clicks each:

Hitting Power

Solid Contact

Starting Pitcher Stamina

Relief Pitcher Stamina

Foul balls

Turning down 3 clicks:

Throwing errors.

Turned down 1 click

AI Pitch speed if your a novice turn it dowm some more to get a feel for what different pitches do. Once you get the hang of it...turn it up!

On to the game.

Presentation Never have I been so blown away by a sports games presentation than MLB 2009 The Show. From the moment you load in the game and hearing all the great radio calls to the opening lineup introductions, the umpire crew calling the game, the panning in the stadiums, the lighting and shading....I mean this is top notch stuff. The play by play is great. Without question you feel like your watching a baseball game. The menus are very in depth and easy to navigate. I love seeing in spring training games the beach balls being hit around. The crowd is very active and looks so real! The player models are nothing short of beautiful. The fielding animations are so life like...back hand stabs, flips to turn 2, scoops, fist pumping after a great play, dives and slides....all the most realisitc I have ever seen. Guys getting thrown out of arguing calls, Replays are awesome!!!! Custom walk up music, and recording your own cheers and jeers.....friggin sweet!

Gameplay this is where the biggest debate has been on the reviews. I will say this. MLB 2009 is not for pick up and play gamers, gamers who do not have much baseball knowledge, and gamers who do not have patience. This is a game that was designed for true baseball fans, players, and sports gamers who want the ultimate in true realisim. If you don't fit into that description....buy MLB The Bigs.

The degree of difficulty in hitting is just that. It is not easy. This is not dependent on button mashing and pure timing. You must understand the sweet science of hitting, taking pitches, going with the pitch, fighting off pitches, having some sense of what pitch is coming depending on the count, the baserunners etc. The hitting aspect of this game is just flat out amazing. If you are patient and willing to practice you will be able to be successful. One of the biggest keys to hitting on this game is the left stick. You need to understand that if a pitcher is throwing it down and away and you swing at it....you better have the left stick pressed down and away as you time your button push and then maybe you either fight off the pitch, get a dribbler down the line you can leg out, hit an opposite field single...pop up, line out, my point is there is no guarantee you will get on base...but if you don't press that left stick down and away chances are you will whiff. If you have a man on third....tap the right stick up to induce a fly ball to tag up that runner!! Drag bunts are awesome on this game and they work well (tap your right stick either left or right before the pitch). I wish you could move the hitter around the box though...amazing a game with this much detail left that out. The hitters eye is a nice touch to see how the defense is playing you. Back to the hitting aspect. What I love is that even if you get the timing right sometimes your going to hit it hard....but it is going to find a glove. That is baseball. No one hits .375 year round....most hitters hit .275 to .280. Sometimes you time it right but you don't swing your bat high enough or low enough with the left stick. Again...ultimate realism. I still have not hit a HR using the power swing. I have hit a dozen (in 14 spring games) though using the normal swing button, with perfect timing and placing the sweet spot of the bat in the right area. I also do not like to use the power swing button because you can't check your swing at all. Check swinging is a major aspect of this game. The batter/pitcher duals are flat out sick!

Pitching Wow...I love this. Even when you line up the ball right....sometimes your pitcher just does not have his best stuff. Know this and start thinking about getting your long reliever up earlier than you would like! I love the fact that you must work the zone....throw pitches high and away, low and outside, or give them a sweet splitter down the middle...whoops and then it drops like a rock! Also....make sure you get ahead in the count...because the great hitters will make you pay for mistakes all the time. Study your hitters with the pitcher/batter menu....amazing the amount of info you can gather from those screens. Also check the streak arrow direction next to their name and stats as they approach the batters box....is A-Rod on a cold steak? Then challenge him!! If he's hot and first base is open....pitch him carefully. Watch your pitchers confidence closley. If he is getting into trouble...get out there and talk to him. If he can't seem to get out trouble....send him to an early shower!

The plethora of pitches in the game is sweet. Screwballs, slurves, 2 seamers, 4 seamers, 12-6 curves, spliters, sliders, sinkers, knuckleballs, knuckle curves, changeups....awesome. The variability on the umpires is also a very nice touch. Sometimes you get calls...sometimes you don't. Adjust and adapt just like in real life!!!!

Fielding Ok here is where there are a couple of quirks. Sometimes the AI chooses the wrong fielder for you intially and you need to hit that L2 quick...also sometimes you hit dive and meant it let's say for your 3rd baseman but the AI chose your LF instead and he is flat on his face and it turns into a double. It does not happen that often. In fact it is becoming less of an occurence as you get used to the speed of the game. The fielding though for the most part is very solid. I love the smoothness of the animations and man it feels so real. Throwing is a breeze as is diving and jumping. Throwing errors were happening too often on the "out of the box settings" so take my advice on the slider adjustments mentioned above. The fielding guide marker is very helpful and a must for novices and even vet's like me...it makes for a more enjoyable experience. Last night I perefectly timed a R2 dive for Hanley Ramirez to lay out up the middle on a grounder... he then flipped the ball up from his stomach to Uggla who was getting taken out on the throw to turn the 6-4-3 DP. AMAZING FIELDING ANIMATIONS!!!!!

Baserunning Ok MVP 2005 has the best baserunning controls hands down with the use of the game pad....why MLB 2009 does not use that same scheme is anyone's guess....but the new running control scheme that uses the left stick is a breeze.I have never played any previous version of MLB The Show and read the classic controls and was getting dizzy. Just point to the base runner you want with your left stick and hit the button of the base you want him to go to. L1 for all advance...R1 for all retreat. After a dozen spring games for practice I have had no issues with base running. Stealing is also very easy. Point the stick to the runner you want and touch the button of the base you want him to steal. I have not tried a double steal as of yet....so no comment on that as of now.

Franshise mode I am dizzy at the amount of options you have here. I actually let the CPU handle the training options, budget and stadium stuff....I am too busy with rosters, signing players, drafts, and scouting!!! In other words I like being the GM and Manager and I let the CPU handle other stuff.....for now (:

The 40 man rosters are great. I will miss the MVP minor league systems though. I look forward to my first draft as well as free agent signing peroid. I play the Marlins BTW.

RTTS I have not yet ventured into this mode as of the writing of this review. I first want to complete a couple of seasons (which will take me probably a few years since I only can play maybe 8 hours a week) with my Marlins and then I will delve into that whole other world this game has.

Overall the game is a 10 out of 10 for me. I don't think I have ever been this excited about a sports game since Madden and MVP 2005 for the PS2. This is a true innovative gaming experience. I played ball through college and still play softball on Sundays, It also helps I am a huge basbeball fan. This game is for baseball lovers...I do not reccommend this game for any casual gamers, casual baseball fans or a gamer who has little to no patience. However if you want a true baseball simulation that has more features than you know what to do with, and that also has replayability for the next 10 years look no further than MLB 2009 The Show. A game that truly rewards you with every game you play. The more you play the better you will get and the more fun you will ultimatly have! Quite possibly the best sports video game ever made. Now pass me some mustard for my red hots!

Have fun at the ball park everyone!

Here we are, another long winter over and another amazing spring to begin, and what better way to ring in the best time of year than with MLB 09 The Show.

Sony has done it, they have taken an amazing franchise and made it perfect. I could tell you about the perfect graphics and amazing sounds, but this game has literally everything. They have batters that react like their real-life counterparts and pitchers that are accurate down to the grip of the ball. Each player is rendered with extreme precision, and with the ability to manually add their actual walk up music and HR celebration music, nothing is more life-like.

They team at Sony has added well over 400 animations to an already extraordinary library of ones that existed previously. I could probably play 100 games and still see something new. From speaking to one of the developers, there are now over 100 animation simply for the first baseman catching a throw to first. That's just unreal. Also, as you play the game the infield wears down, if you dive for a ball on the back of the infield in the third inning, that large swipe of dirt will still be there the rest of the game, this is amazing. Score a runner from second base, and you'll see the footprints in the dirt until they get covered by even more footprints.

The crowd is intenase this year, it's dynamic. If there's a blow out, they might leave early. Also, you'll see Yankee fans in Fenway and vice-versa, as that's how it really is. Sony has made this as close to reality as possible. Also, the fans dress for the weather. I was playing an early April game in Chicago, and the announcers stated it was 43 degrees. Everyone in the crowd had hats, sweaters and jackets on. For a game in late May, it was t-shirts and shorts.

The lighting is another VAST improvement this season. The game actually has lighting that transitions throughout the game. It doesn't just go from light to dark, it follows a real nights subtle changes. Also, the lighting will hit players at certain angles that mimic a real sun, so the shadows will make a difference this year.

Add to all this, online leagues and Road to the Show 3.0, and yes you have a perfect baseball game.

Thank you Sony.

First of all, my review is not gonna tell you why this game is perfect because of how great the stadiums look, or how lifelike Manny Ramirez's dreads look. I love graphics as much as the next guy, but that is not what I am looking for in a baseball game. I am an obsessive Baseball fan and the only thing I am looking for is realism...and this game has done baseball perfectly.

You hear that a lot in reviews of this game don't you? Perfect. How many times have most of the reviewers of anything said something like that?

The only baseball game I have continued to play since like 1999 has been High Heat Baseball for PC. I have seriously continued to update the rosters year after year for the 2003 edition, keeping it current. Well, this game not only made me finally put that game away, but single-handedly made me buy a PS3.

That is saying a lot! Console Baseball games have continued to get it wrong, time after time, after sad disc throwing time for me. I can not say enough for how amazing this game is. The batter/pitcher battle, the most important part of baseball, is excellent. High pitch counts, countless foul balls, CPU actually throwing balls, strike outs looking, amazing.

The trajectory of batted balls is great too, lots of balls up the middle, and looping fly balls, like real baseball. Lots of little things too with feeling, balls are bobbled but plays are still made... adding more of a human feeling to the game. One of the other cool features on the game, is that on the higher up difficulty modes.. you are to use actual catcher signs to call pitches, 1 for fastball, 2 usually for curve etc.. and your catcher even calls what side of the plate its going too.

This game is perfect, 10 out of 10, 5 out of 5, whatever the ratings are. This game looks equally good when compared to how atrocious that Major league Baseball game is. Go BUY NOW.

I think many of the people who wrote previous reviews have given this game a fair assessment. I got back into playing console games recently and picked this game up b/c it was last years game and I didn't want to break the bank on video games. As a baseball fanatic, I really enjoyed this game. I really think they hit the mark on a great baseball game more than others that I have played. Granted there are concerns that other reviews have already written, but I just want to add that two things I hate about this game is 1. online play has been canceled. I can't play against other MLB 09 players since MLB 10 is out. 2. I also can't update my rosters. I guess that's their nice hint to go buy MLB 10 which I won't. I am not going to pay $50+ each year for updated rosters and maybe better gameplay. Here's a suggestion, perhaps charge a small fee for roster updates since I know the reason you canceled online play is about making money. And why cancel online play against other players after one year? I can understand maybe after a few years, but after one year? If this is the trend, I won't be buying future MLB games unless I buy it used for dirt cheap or get it for free.

Last year, MLB 08 was the best baseball game I ever played. It was so good, I had reservations spending another $60 for the new version. Honestly, I'm not sure it was really worth the money, but MLB 09 is another incredible baseball game that makes minor improvements to last year's, and adds a few new features. You can record your own chants and music for individual players. The graphics and animations have been tweaked. The gameplay has been slightly enhanced. Pitching seems the most improved. The Franchise Mode has been enhanced with transactions such as salary arbitration, waiver transactions, and September call-ups. I feel the game will have a lot of replay value. The game is well worth the price if you don't own last years. $60 might be a lot for those upgrading though.

Extremely disappointed. Freezes my ps3 after 2nd swing on tiger woods pga tour 14 using a brand new ps2 controller.

Especially if you have the Backwards Compatible PS3, this cord makes it very simple to expand your PS3's capabilities using the stuff you already have leftover from when you had a PS2. I even had a Multitap I had purchased back in '01 (to play Twisted Metal: Black) connected to this converter, then attached three PS2 controllers in the slots of the multitap, eliminating the need to ever have to use more than one of these things. For only a few bucks, it's definitely worth it. Even if you don't have PS2 controllers already, you can get at least 3 of them (new or used) for around the price of one PS3 controller here on Amazon. The PS2 controller works fine even with most PS3 games (excluding, of course, those that require six-axis and other motion functions). I did, however, have trouble when trying to use a mix of 2 (PS2 & PS3) controllers each. You have to use the PS3 ones to "Reassign Controller slots" and move them around first to do that. Hope this helps!

I recently upgraded my original release day copy of Uncharted 3 to a new copy of the Game of the Year Edition, as it was much more affordable than buying all the dlc online by itself. I'm not going to comment much on the game itself, other than to echo others affinity for the Uncharted series. But, I thought it relevant to warn people that while all of the dlc (basically everything that makes the GotY version different/better than the original release) is on the disc, it requires an online access code to activate. If you already bought the original release, the codes are interchangeable, you're previous code will allow access to all the dlc on this disc itself. However, for those who aren't upgrading or aren't buying the GotY version brand new, without a valid (unused) code, you're essentially paying more for a disc that only has the functionality of the standard edition. Whether Naughty Dog will sell or somehow provide buyers of used copies of the GotY edition a working code remains to be seen, but is probably very unlikely. At present, all dlc that comes with new copies of the GotY edition will cost you another 30 to 40 bucks to download from PSN.

So, if you just want the single-player, the original release is a much better value. If you want everything specifically the map packs which are required for most multi-player trophies and bonus skins, but also multiplayer access in general the GotY edition is clearly the way to go, but ONLY when buying brand new (except when you already have a valid code from the previous edition) or if the reseller has confirmed that the online access code hasn't been redeemed.

For those of you who are fans of the previous versions, you get the following extras:

Multiplayer maps (Graveyard, Old Quarter, London Streets, Oasis)

"Flashback maps" which are 8 remade maps from versions 1 and 2

25 multiplayer skins, and Killzone 3 skins

Fort Co-Op (this happens in the fortress from 'Drake's Fortune')

Rogue skins pack (from 14 enemies)

Game will hook you, especially if you haven't played it before. Lots of recognizable faces from the previous games, fluid fighting, more weapons, good range of settings and action sequences.

In 2011, Uncharted 3 hit the ground running and quickly became one of the most well received games in the Playstation 3's library. This is an impressive feat considering the game was the sequel to. Uncharted 3 manage to live up to much of the hype which surrounded it and continues to be a popular treat. As with most games that do well in the market as well as with the fans, Uncharted 3 was given a game of the year edition. For those who've yet to experience Uncharted 3 this is most definitely the edition you'll want to buy. The original game can still be find for a cheap price, but you'll wind up having to pay a lot of extra money for all the DLC. If you don't really care much for the DLC then there's no real reason not to buy the original game. This review is for those who have not played Uncharted 3 as well as for those who have so it's a rather long one.

Uncharted 3 is a much more character driven story than the previous two. The game focuses pretty strongly on Nate's relationship with Sully and just how far back it goes. This time Nathan is looking for the Atlantis of the Sands. Apparently Francis Drake found something, and Nathan Drake wants in on the action. Of course he's not the only one after it. A secret agency headed by a woman named Marlowe is also searching for Francis Drake's secret and they'll stop it nothing to get it. In order for Nate to survive this one he's going to have to use all his cunning and wit, as well as face some of his biggest fears to date. The story is actually pretty simple. And while there are some nice twists and turns, what really makes it good are the characters withing it. It's a character driven story through and through.

The Uncharted series is pretty well known for it's good characters, sharp writing and easy to follow narrative. This is perhaps the most true in the third game. The characters here have an established narrative that the game is willing to fill you in on, but one does not need to play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune or Uncharted 2: Among Thieves to really understand the game in and of itself. The characters introduced have such natural exchanges with one another that even if this is your first outing with Nate and his allies you'll grow to like them and know them without having played the previous games. Uncharted simply doesn't slouch on the character development. Even when simply walking around the characters carry on with jokes, conversation and banter. It really makes for an enjoyable experience.

The movie like quality is what helps the game along. Uncharted isn't known for being a non-linear experience. Players will always know where to go next and there isn't much off the beaten path. There are treasures to find, but they're usually not too far out of the way. On the other hand, Uncharted never makes you backtrack, always carefully guiding the player through its scripted sequences. Normally this might be a deterrent for a game, but with so much focus on story and narrative, it helps keep the story pacing at a decent speed without getting too distracted from it. Most of the gameplay segments are easily divided into three types of moments. First there are the platforming elements which usually involve Drake scaling walls and jumping from hanging ledge to another to reach a destination. The second are the puzzles he'll have to solve to progress further in the areas he's exploring and the last is the gunplay. Because the game alternates so well between all these elements you'll rarely feel like you're being bogged down for too long. After a long gunfight, for instance, the game slows down a little from the action by giving you some platforming to do or a puzzle to solve so that you can have a respite from the gunplay. Likewise the story is pretty good at keeping things in focus. The puzzles don't feel like they're just there to keep you busy, but because they actually add something to the story, while the platforming is worked in elegantly that it feels natural.

The gunfights, however, can be some of the most challenging Uncharted has thrown out yet. There are moments where enemies are all over the place and it's your job to take them out. Much like the previous two games, Uncharted 3 isn't always easy. You may find yourself dying in some gunfights either because you feel overwhelmed or simply can't find cover in time. It's also not unusual for someone to come sneaking up behind you and blasting you away because you were focused on other enemies. The good news is that checkpoints in Uncharted 3 are plentiful. If you screw up a platforming section or bite the dust in a fire fight you're usually not too far away from where you died.

Arguably, there isn't much Uncharted 3 needs to build upon from Uncharted 2. The second one was such a huge step above the first that it didn't leave much of anything for the third to improve upon. There also aren't enormous changes to gameplay. A few things have been added in. The melee combat has been improved a great deal and is now more fun than ever. You can also pick up and toss back grenades that are thrown at you. But by far the biggest reward to Uncharted 3's gameplay are its set piece moments. They are easily some of the best the series as ever had. In the second game players were treated to moments such as running away from a helicopter across roof tops, fighting a tank and doing battle on a moving train just to name a few of the games better moments. Uncharted 3 strives for more. Here you'll find yourself playing set piece moments that have you fighting bad guys as the building around you burns. There's also a moment in which you'll be fighting on a capsizing cruise ship and it's easily one of the greatest things I've ever experienced in a video game. These moments are big and epic. I'd rather not give too much away for people who have yet to play, but Uncharted 3 packs in a lot of adventure in between its narrative, platforming and puzzle solving. It's a game that adventure enthusiasts simply must experience for themselves. It's amazing.

All that being said, Uncharted 3 is a rather huge game. The main campaign itself is rather short, but the multiplayer will more than make up for that. It's enormous, with tons of modes to play and lots of customization options. The reason I highly recommend the Game of the Year Edition for those who enjoy multiplayer is because it's simply that big. You've got your typical deathmatch modes where you can be on teams or free for all. There's also the standard king of the hill type stuff. But there are also tons of maps that really make it special to play. In part because the maps themselves are just a playing field but can also be their own experiences. In one level, for instance, you're on trains jumping from one to the other until they arrive at the train station where the battle will continue. Another has one team defending a plane while another constantly jumps there until they take off and land on another map. It's also nice that some of the previous maps from previous games have been brought back. Some of them look different because Naughty Dog changed the weather... and yes they do feel different as a result. Some of Uncharted 2's better maps are back and they're just as gorgeous as they ever were. Likewise, a lot of classic character skins are here as well. You'll be able to play as your favorite characters from Drake's Fortune or Among Thieves, if you wish.

Other aspects about the multiplayer that really add to the experience is that each game isn't afraid to mix things up. For instance if you're doing team deathmatches the losing team might get random perks to help out such as revealing the winning teams location, or making their shots do more damage. To also add to the variety you can select perks to take into specific maps that might help you reload faster, or collect more cash upon defeating adversaries. But it doesn't end there. In every game you can earn medals that will grant you more cash that you can spend on character skins or accessories to customize your own creation. The medals aren't just used for that, however. In every match each individual has kickbacks that act as temporary perks. For instance getting enough medals might allow you to be granted a sniper rifle for a while, or roam around faster than usual. You're also given the chance to customize weapons as you see fit and make them more powerful or helpful in other ways. All this combined with rankings and clans can make multiplayer feel extremely overwhelming at first. It certainly isn't as simple as Uncharted 2's, but once you get sucked in it can be very difficult to stop playing because it's done so well. I've yet to experience a lot of connection issues. Your mileage will vary. So will your gameplay experiences. The multiplayer is huge and we haven't even begun to talk about co-op yet.

The game excels in the co-op arena as well. There is a campaign complete with cutscenes. Although it isn't much for story, it's lengthy enough that it can keep you satisfied with some exciting gunplay. It's also pretty cool because you'll see some old favorites. You'll get your brand of perks here as well. But there is also the arena in which they mix up the rules when playing with friends. For instance just the arena itself has you fighting ten waves of enemies with things in place. You might be told to survive one round by killing everyone, and then be subjected to gold rush in the next in which you must escort an idol back to the chest with your team before your killed. There is also one that insists you kill enemies from within a specific area on a map. You can play all these modes by mixing and matching in the arena, but you can also opt to play them separately. Simply put, there's quite a bit to keep you busy with the multiplayer. And if you decide to take the dive into it then getting the Game of the Year Edition is a must.

One of the things the Uncharted series is known for is having some of the most impressive visuals ever in a video game. Uncharted 3 doesn't disappoint. Every environment is brimming with detail and life. The attention to detail is simply amazing. It's all done so well it's hard not to notice some of the details. For instance, when Nathan banks off a wall you'll notice he actually pushes himself off. The animations are absolutely fantastic in part because of how the motion capture is done by the actors who actually provide the voices. This gives a very human like quality to how the characters move. Other little bits of detail include how well the environment interacts with the characters. When Nathan is in the desert for instance it's hard not to be impressed by how naturally the sand flows. Or looking at the water effects as they hit a ship. The lighting is also done incredibly well. Simply put, Uncharted 3 is a technological beast and there aren't that many words that can be used to describe just how much detail was put into the presentation.

The voice acting and writing is also as sharp as ever. The writing is very clever as the exchanges between characters feel very natural. The voice actors also did the motion control and you can tell that they were disciplined in their work. The acting is great and the emotions are spot on, not to mention the animations. It's also hard to ignore the fantastic sound effects and music score. It all compliments many of the games moments. The music in each environment compliments the environment. But the sound effects are also pretty stellar.

It's hard to really knock the presentation of a Naughty Dog game because there's so much attention put into it. However, it is NOT always perfect. Because of so much put into it, there will be moments in which you may experience a bug or two. It's usually never anything huge. Rather it's things like... when you die Nate might clip through a piece of the environment or something like that. It's usually never going to get you killed but when it happens it's much more noticeable than in other games because of that attention to detail. As I said, I never died because of this... I always noticed this WHEN I died. One time Nate's rag doll corpse went through a wall and into obscurity.

For those wondering, yes, there are making of featurette that shows you how they did some of things they did. It's complete with interviews and trivia, as well as showing you some of the things they did to improve the game. However, there is no New Game+ here. The previous two games managed to squeeze in some nice perks on subsequent playthroughs such as being able to change your character skin or being able to get infinite ammo in your weapons... or even just flat out select a gun to use--even if it wasn't available. This was missing from the original Uncharted 3 and hasn't been restored to the game of the year edition.

With an unquestionable amount of hype surrounding it, Uncharted 3 managed to somehow live up to just about all of it. It's a great adventure and the Game of the Year Edition is even better for multiplayer enthusiasts. There's so much loaded here that it can easily be enjoyed by anyone willing to take some time to play. If you like adventure games and really enjoy multiplayer then Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is the game for you.

I haven't played the game yet so if you're looking for a game review I apologize. There are a lot of really good ones here though. My review has to do with the Online Activation Pass Code. I purchased the game brand new, factory sealed from Amazon. It arrived brand new, factory sealed. I then went online to input the included activation code incase there was some expiration date. My included code came back as having been already used. I did a quick search here and elsewhere, and apparently this is an all too common occurrence.

So I contacted Sony via Live Help. They asked some question, gave me an email to contact. Basically, I have to send them pictures of my receipt and the front/back of the Activation Code, because they checked and mine came back as having been redeemed in January. Amazon hasn't sent me paper receipts in a long time so I hope a screen cap of the invoice will do.

Anyway I just wanted to let people know what may happen if you buy this game without any previous activation codes from Uncharted 3. You're going to have to jump through some hoops. I've even read that people have had to contact Sony numerous times because they get no response after the initial email. So I guess I have that to look forward to (hopefully not).

(The game itself may be great. I wish there was a way to rate things besides the game.)

*** Update July 14th, 2013***

Sony actually sent me a replacement code. It only took one (two really) email, which I was surprised at after reading other people's experiences with the same issue. I've adjusted the rating accordingly.

I havent been addicted to a game in a long time, I generally dont spend too much time playing games, and hour or so a few times a week is a lot for me. But this game... WOW, i couldnt get enough, I found myself sitting at work trying to figure out strategies to get through especially difficult sections. I played the game on hard (crushing is next) and it took a LOT of trial and error... this isnt just an amazingly well written, visually stunning, and completely engrossing game... its HARD. I got down right frustrated at some points... but in the best possible way. If you havent played it... GET IT.

I really like this one because the colours and graphics are so much better than I expected.

I bought one of these sleeves a year or so ago at a local store. I can't find them anymore. Lucky to find them here and cheaper than before. This silicone sleeve has grips and gives the controller a whole new feel. No more slipping in your hands plus it is protected. I feel "naked" if I use a controller without one now. Well worth the price to me and I don't want to ever go back to a "bare" controller. Love it!!

I purchased two of these to protect my PS3 controllers. They are not as nice of a custom fit as I would have liked! There is a flap on the outside edge of the L2 and R2 buttons that is very annoying. Also, when I pulled these off to return them they ripped very easily. I do not recommend purchasing this product. If you want a controller sleeve get the ones officially licensed by Playstation. They are a much better product!

I really gave this a shot over weeks, and I really like the texture on this, but the silicone surrounding the sticks interferes with the complete range of motion, albeit slightly, but very annoying. Decided to chop off the grips area themselves, and permanently epoxy glue the textured area to the controller. Inelegant, but works better. I have found after using a variety of these products from different manufacturers that they all restrict full movement, and impede quick responses on the shoulder buttons. Last time I will invest in any of these, good idea, just cheap implementation.

I made the mistake of getting this one because I wanted a clear white one, and the set I bought before which are really awesome the Red Black & Blue Silicone Skin Case Combo

Copy and pastehttp://www.amazon.com/Black-Silicone-Combo-Controller-Playstation-3/dp/B000RLXI1K/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_img_a

Don't come in white they are red 2 blacks and a blue, I know it says 3 but you get 4, and they are really cool they are much easier to put on... and they have a nice rubber feel...

This one, the white clear one, is one of the worst I have bought, it ripped while I was just trying to put it on, look at the pictures I uploaded in the product section, it also feels cheap compared to the other ones I bought, for $5.99 this is not worth your money it's a complete waste, get the 3 combo for like $6.99 which is an amazing deal, yes you pay some shipping but they are much better... trust me much, much better..

No need in thanking me, but I just saved you from being really disappointed, trust me this one is awful. you don't want this one.

I ordered this product at the same time I ordered a Red Silicone Skin also available on Amazon. Although this product is functional, I have no doubt that the red skin I ordered is a higher quality product and fits the controller better. When I placed my order, I ordered on of each because I was unsure which I would like better. If I could do it over I would order two of the red skins because I like it that much more.

I love the idea of this game, but I could just scream at the person who made it. Picture this: You customize everything yourself. You draft players, cultivate them, set the lineups and rotation. You try to sim and it asks if you want it to automatically take a guy off the DL. You say sure. But the computer doesn't just take the player off the DL. It drops the players you were developing to free agency, and re-organizes your rosters, lineups and rotations at every level. Suddenly instead of having tons of control you have no control, and you wonder why you just wasted your night setting that all up. More generally you spend most of the game manually fixing tiny, common sense details and you rarely get into the parts you care about. I hope they come out with another edition and this time get it right, because I want to play the game this could have been.

I was very intrigued when I heard about this game. And the video clips made it even more intriguing. But, this is a lot like when you see a trailer for a movie and the best parts are shown in the trailer, and there isn't much else afterwards.

Now, the good thing about this game is that the "behind the scenes" stuff is pretty decent. As the GM, you start in December. You have to deal with all unsigned players, arbitration, free agents, and the Class 5 draft. With contracts, you can decide the length, salary, option years, and incentives. "Billy Beane" sends you emails to make sure you don't forget important things in relation to the above mentioned events. He will also give you tips about future planning. You can choose your GM's background, each with pro's and con's. For example, if you're a businessman, you excel at contracts and negotiations, but suffer in player development. If you are an ex-player, you have leadership and chemistry, but suffer in trades and contracts.

Now, if you're looking at this as an actual baseball game, don't waste your time. You can simulate games, or you can manage them. And by managing, it means you tell the batter to bat, bunt, steal, or whatever the situation calls for. Same thing for pitching. Other than substitutions and player alignemt, you have no control over anything else. The graphics are very basic and not much fun to watch. So, simulating gets you through the season faster, which makes the actual "baseball" part of this game a total failure.

If you like the background stuff, you will enjoy this game. If you want to enjoy playing actual baseball, wait for MLB 09 The Show, coming out this March.

An excellent General Manager game! Originally rented this from Blockbuster and played it a few days and thought it was so-so. The real fun begins after a few seasons are under your belt and you level up your manager. Developing young talent is also fun, as it could turn out your hot prospect is not so hot or turns out to hit 60 homers a year while being paid 1 million dollars... I notice the talent does get scarce after about 5-10 years though, but if yuou keep a good eye on your farm system you'll be stocked enough to have a quality team every year. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and would usually sim each season and then manage a few of the postseason games. A few things to watch while you sim the seasonthe Disabled list and your extended roster. Sometimes when a guy comes off the DL, the cpu will put him in reserve which could mess you up. Also had a problem with one or two of my star starters just disappearing at the end of the season before contract time. Weird.. Otherwise after renting this game, I decided to buy it to keep. It is not for everybody, and I have checked out Mogul and the other one.. oocp?, but this game was a keeper for me-a stathead and baseball lover. Thank you and enjoy the game!

This is a review specifically focusing on the extras that come with the collector's edition of the game...

The Sackboy Plushie: For a lot of people, this is possibly the biggest selling points of the collector's edition. Sackboy may just be the most adorable character to come out of the past decade, so having a licensed plushie of him would be, for many, a dream come true. It's disappointing then that the quality of the plushie is rather poor. The plushie looks significantly different than the Amazon image above and the image on the box. Compared to what is displayed, the plushie is a much darker brown, its head has more of a pronounced egg shape, its button eyes are smaller, and it just has an overall "school arts and crafts" vibe about it. I thought perhaps I may have just received a bad one, but I have seen images of others that are just the same poor quality. The image also shows the plushie sitting down which suggests that the legs can swivel or are loose enough pose. However they are stiff and cannot move. All this is upsetting because the Sackboy plushie displayed is clearly an entirely different plushie than the one you get. If your main reason for getting the collector's edition is the plushie, I would suggest possibly passing on it (Or at least look at images of the actual plushie you get to see if the quality is good enough for your liking. I have posted an image here on Amazon.)

The Bookends: Though they (intentionally) have a cardboard look to them, they are made of a stiff material and are sturdy. Each bookend is about 8 inches (20 cm) high and 5 inches (13 cm) wide. There are two cardboard cutouts, one on each bookend (Sackboy holding an arcade cabinet on one, and LBP's Da Vinci surrounded by Sackbots on the other) which add some 3 dimensional pizzazz. Contrary to the plushie, these bookends are pretty nice.

The Costumes/Avatars: For others, this will be the big selling point of the collector's edition. It's probably important to point out again that these are downloadable content costume packs and are NOT on the disc (otherwise meaning your PS3 will need to be hooked up to the internet to acquire them). Inside the game case is a small voucher with the code that you can redeem on the Playstation Network. The Jak & Daxter costumes are only available in the collector's edition of the game, so if you want them, this is the only way to get them. All the costumes are of good quality like the other LBP DLCs available and are definitely the highlight of the collector's edition. LBP costumes on the Playstation Network cost roughly $1-2, so all the costumes make up more the than half the additional cost of the collector's edition which helps justify it. The voucher also lets you redeem 5 avatars which you can display on your PSN ID if you want to show off your adoration for LBP2.

While the plushie is a bit of a letdown, the decent bookends and fun costumes pick up the slack. You would probably spend nearly $20 on the costumes anyway, so if you're interested in them (especially the Jak & Daxter costumes which, again, are only available if you get this edition of the game), you might as well pick up the collector's edition and get everything else.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a continuation of the first LittleBigPlanet, in the sense that the fun still never stops. With many new features this game easily packs a punch twice as hard as the first one though. new features include cut scene creator , sound creator, you can create (with some imagination) many different variations of mini-games within your created level (for me I made a paintinator shooter to play with my roommate). What's my favorite feature? Probably that it's compatible with the Move, although to be truthful I haven't used the Move with it yet (it just sounds like a fun idea that they had).

The levels in LBP 2 are even more creative than the first one (if that's even possible), the graphics are more polished (if it matters), and load screens don't seem to take as long. The create mode is a thousand times easy than the first time (very user-friendly). Create mode is easier in the sense that all of the tutorials are right in front of you and you don't have to try everything on your popit in order to see them all. ALSO maybe my favorite improvement is that when you go to create and enemy (using the brain) they are just mindless going back and forth, they actually do what you would expect an enemy to do.

The online system is also amazing. The internet style level search bar looks like it will make finding levels you want to play a breeze (since nobody has really made any levels yet, I have not had the pleasure to use it yet).

When it comes to cons there really aren't any that I can speak of. Graphics are clean, gameplay is funner than ever, load screens are bearable, and sackboy is still cute as hell.

Now I have a sackboy plush to put near my TV as well. The plush is very durable and feels like it is lined on the inside with some reinforcing plastic.

The bonus costumes are all great but my personal favorite are the ratchet and clank ones (mostly clank because your sackboy looks so hilarious running around as clank)

So overall I would give this game 10/5 stars, but since they won't let me I'll just have to give it 5. I know what I'm doing in my free time this week =]

Read Best Reviews of LittleBigPlanet 2: Collector's Edition Here

I am going to review this a little different than my normal reviews as if you owned LBP1 you pretty much know the gameplay, graphics, sound etc. This review is going to be broken down into 2 parts.

1. The Game itself

2. The CE box edition

____ THE GAME ____

Okay Little Big Planet, if you have not played it before, is pretty much a platform'er w/ some adventure and wonderful creativity thrown into it. The game is suitable for all ages and has almost infinite re-playability. When you finish the campaign not only do you have item collecting to do but online user created levels, can create your own levels, dress up your pod, play mini games or redo the campaign with up to 4 people and have a blast just enjoying yourself.

LBP2 made some changes to the formula which I think gave it a much stronger campaign. While the levels early on can be a bit annoying or challenging (due to the grapple gun mechanics) the game as a whole is very polished and boasts a fantastic sound track, some really good and funny voice acting. They implemented a more solid storyline this time and it gives each level a lot more meaning to it. The new versus levels are a lot of fun also with friends.

The online play is extremely fluid, hopping into random games or inviting friends is even easier than the first game. If you loved Little Big Planet this game will easily bring a smile to your face once again. If you loved to create levels in little big planet, LBP2 will blow your mind with what you can do. You can recreate games like pac-man, asteroids, street fighter, even play a game of basketball; the versatility of this game is never ending.

If you never played Little Big Planet but were very curious about it, this is definitely a title worth picking up. Next to the Uncharted series, LBP is easily one of my top titles released on the PS3.

9.7 / 10 ( 97% ... 5 stars ) for the game. There are some minor bugs that aren't game breaking but can cause that happy smile to turn into a frown for a few moments but not enough to hurt this game. I expect many of the little problems to be patched out within a few days as these are just your typical launch bugs

____ COLLECTORS EDITION _____

Now... I am going to review the collectors edition. Essentially, is the CE worth +$20 ? Lets review what you get with the CE first

1. Book/Game ends (60%)

** These actually are much better quality than I expected. They do not feel like cardboard at all but I have a feeling they are probably heavy duty cardboard w/ plaster coating over it. They seem far to light for the material. However, they do work quite well. I have tested it with a bunch of games and they hold just fine. They also do a good job holding a bunch of books; though small books like paperbacks such as Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time etc Each end has small rubber/felt feet(4) on it and I think here is the problem with why people are having issues with them. They dont' have enough "grip" to really hold these ends in place. On a smooth surface like my polished PC desk they slide far to easy and a simple bump would cause it to lose its hold on the books. Replacing the little felt feet with solid plastic/rubber would resolve the problem but overall, out of the box these kinda-sorta work.

2. 5 PSN avatars (50%)

** What can I say, they are PSN premium avatars. Nothing special honestly and they don't even look that good IMO

3. Jax and Daxter exclusive costumes (100%)

** These are exclusive to the CE. The costumes look fantastic in 720p with high detail put into them.

4. 11 DLC costumes (100%)

** Who doesn't want more costumes! Depending on pricing when the hit official DLC it can be $6-$11 in savings (technically since you are paying $20 more for the CE)

5. LBP2 game disk (100%)

** Of course you get the game silly! At least you better have a game in the box ^_^

6. 7" Plushie (collectible) (50%)

** If you don't already own a sackboy / sackgirl plushie then this might be worth having as they do sell for anywhere from $10 $30 depending on the quality. However they are all usually 10" in size not 7". This is pretty much a smaller version of the standard plushie you find anywhere. From the original pictures included of the box set when announced they showed a completely different , higher quality Sackboy plushie. It was the first thing I noticed also was that this wasn't the advertised Plushie in fact it is all over the internet, in these reviews, my friends pointed it out also. Is this a killer, not really as you still get a cute plushie! Its just a bit of a let down as well as slightly misleading pictures/advertising

ANYHOW as you can see , in my book the CE scored 2 100's 2 50's and a 60 so doing some math that's 72% (i'm not including #5 in the calculation for obvious reasons :) )

72% is pretty low in my book for a CE box set. (Caka.. BARELY passing) With that said:

*** The CE is a PASS. Do not spend $20 on this unless you honestly want a 7" plushie for the kids (or to add to a collection or something) and some bookends that sorta-kinda-maybe work half the time 0_o the costumes are really nice though but I'm sure you can end up buying them as DLC later on. Save your money

--Gameplay (5 out of 5 stars)--

This game is definitely the successor to the original LittleBigPlanet. Although some complain about the storyline, it is insignificant compared to the breadth of levels and diversity in gameplay that you will encounter. You'll play with a grappling hook, Creatinator and many other gaming elements that will constantly challenge your platforming formula. These elements are enjoyable with one player or four players. You level of commitment can range from trying to ace every level solo or conducting a crazy social experiment with three other people you've never met. The ability to play with players locally, online, or both simultaneously while earning trophies on all associated accounts is a great feature.

More than the story, LittleBigPlanet is about community. As time goes on, you'll see more and more user-generated content. It can be brilliant as a Sack calculator, as fun as a game of Sack Basketball, as fast as overhead Sack Go Karts, or as funny as the Bed Intruder song with an Antoine Dodson sack following you everywhere.

For the casual gamer or the serious gamer, this game has unlimited possibilities and users never cease to amaze me with what they are capable of generating with the LittleBigPlanet tool at their disposal. If you own a PS3, this game is a no-brainer. Just don't buy the Collector's Edition for the reasons outlined below.

--Collector's edition perks (1 out of 5 stars)--

Unfortunately, the pictures for all of the additional content presented are rather deceiving. I was initially excited by the release images, but they a false representation.

Bookends

The characters depicted on the bookends are cute. However, the are little more than 2-d cardboard cutouts on what seems to be sticker-covered plastic slats. They will serve as excellent bookends for video games that can usually stand on their own. Anything of significance (e.g. Books) will cause them to slide or topple.

Sackboy Plush

The sackboy is a dark brown hue with a plastic zipper. Throw away any illusions of the texturized, well-constructed plush shown above. Other friends of mine have also purchased the Collector's edition and have been greeted with haphazard construction of their own plushies, including torn zipper lines and offset zippers. You can do much better at other online retailers.

Downloadable Content

The costumes and avatars are the two elements that appear as advertised! However, it is a just a combination of thrown-together costumes that will probably be available for individual purchase not too long from now.

The price for the additional By no means is this a large investment, but at pre-order Amazon offered $20 pre-order credit with the purchase of the standard edition. Having pre-ordered the collector's edition back in August 2009, I was rather cross once I found out about the discrepancy. To put it bluntly, I paid $40 for an underwhelming, poorly conceived (and constructed) set of LittleBigPlanet paraphernalia. As good as the game is, I recommend that you avoid the Collector's edition. Sorry Media Molecule, but you should stick solely with Video Games.

If you're looking for a review of the games themselves, I suggest looking up the original reviews for the games here; Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy Jak II Jak 3. I will simply be reviewing the new features for the trilogy package as a whole.

1. HD: The visuals in this game have definitely had a huge overhaul. The frame rate is a smooth 60fps, with hardly any hiccups or slowdowns. The character models look much more detailed and fine tuned. Environments look beautiful as well, and seeing many iconic locations remastered with detailed HD graphics can only be described as nostalgic. I hope they keep up the good work they've done with updating these PS2 classics when they make the Ratchet & Clank Collection.

2. 3D: For many, this won't matter since the number of 3D TVs in households is still a slim number, but for those who do (myself included) it's a feature well worth mentioning. They did a great job making the visuals really "pop". The multiple layers are well placed for dynamic depth perception. It' really been a joy to play the trilogy in 3D so far. You can adjust the depth to your liking, but I found the default setting to be just about right.

3. Trophies: If you're looking for a few challenges while replaying the trilogy, Naughty Dog's got you covered. The trophies range from challenging to pushover, but it's still been fun collecting them, as they have you doing things you might have otherwise never tried. The platinum trophy should give gamers a pretty big challenge to obtain, but with games like these, you'll enjoy every moment of the effort.

Naughty Dog's Jak Trilogy has long been a staple of the platforming world and replaying these games is a stark reminder why. It's a steal for $40, but for any less it's a must own! They just don't make games like these anymore, and they probably never will again, so it's definitely worth picking up a copy and reliving the joys of playing the original trilogy.

I may be biased because Jak & Daxter is my favorite platformer and I think it paved the way for other great series' such as Ratchet & Clank. I've long waited for Jak 4 on the PS3 -but Naughty Dog just revealed that "Last of Us" was made instead of a Jak 4 because the team ran into trouble while attempting to design it. But as they always say "never say never".

As for this collection, it's the next best thing. The HD visuals are definitely an upgrade to the originals on PS2 (particularly 2 & 3). Frame rate is smooth and the environments look great. I do not own a 3D television so I can't comment on that, although I have read that it is well done.

If you're a fan of the series, you'll be very pleased. If you've never played Jak & Daxter before, this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the best platformer created IMO for $39. In addition, there are trophies to collect! Enjoy!

Nostalgia is exactly what companies are banking on when they re-release games like this. Having sold off this game a long time ago with my first PS2 I was happy to see one of the most charming platformers of last generation return. Obviously they can't change the very dated polygon counts, but the textures look sharp and after a while you realize how great these games looked for the time they were released. Worth buying if you like the series, personally I'm a bit partial to the first Jak & Daxter.

Before I begin, let's get one thing straight. I am not reviewing any of the games right now, I am simply reviewing the quality of the HD ports themselves. The Jak and Daxter games are by far one of my favorite games in the world, so if you want to know whether I like these games, I do. I like them a lot.

Now. The games are still good, and still playable even against today's standards. But the quality of the HD port is probably one of the worst in the HD Remasters series. Elements that are present in other HD ports are missing from the port. The games run at a fluid 60FPS, but all of the Jak games ran at 60FPS to begin with. All previous framerate issues with the PS2 versions have been fixed, so instead of being a variable 60FPS, it now runs at a constant 60FPS.

A new Stereoscopic 3D effect was added into all three games for all of you people who own a 3DTV, and it does the job. It's pretty good for a simple conversion. But, as you'll read below, I feel like the need for 3D was unnecessary, and easily could have been put on hold so that more pressing technical matters could have been fixed first.

What can be considered a huge negative towards the quality of the ports themselves is the apparent lack of anti-aliasing. Previous HD Collections, such as Metal Gear Solid HD, God of War HD, etc., all have rendering resolutions of 720p. Jak and Daxter HD also renders at 720p, but it lacks the sufficient amount of anti-aliasing that the other ports have that really give the makeovers that fresh, satisfying look that we expect from a big collection. In MGS HD and GoW HD, jagged lines are limited to almost none. On the flipside, Jak HD suffers from many jagged lines that are plainly noticeable. Someone over at Mass-Media (the people who ported the Jak games to the collection) forgot that anti-aliasing is something of importance to these remasters, and the difference really shows.

To be fair, however, the lack of anti-aliasing is certainly an issue but it's something that's not noticeable when you're in constant motion in the game. You'll notice the jaggies when you're standing still or when things are going slowly, but the "natural motion-blur" that comes with the framerate will usually blur up all the jaggies enough so that you won't see them when you move.

Also present is a few rendering issues that come with Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Jak 1 did not support 16:9 resolutions, it only supported 4:3. In the collection, the aspect ratio was changed and fixed, so now we have a full 16:9 ratio. However, some foliage and details in the background seem to "pop-in" when they're outside of the 4:3 border. This wouldn't be a problem if the borders were there, except now they're not, so the player can plainly see those extra few leaves on the tree and a few boulders and rocks just popping in every time you move the camera a little bit. It doesn't happen too often, and usually it's not really noticeable unless you're REALLY looking for it, but the issue is there. Thankfully, because Jak II and Jak 3 natively supported 16:9 resolutions, no additional work was really required, and that problem is eliminated.

Overall, a solid 4/5. The collection itself is great; sticking 3 of the best PS2 games onto one Blu-Ray disc and adding trophies and 3D for just $40 is an excellent deal. However, the HD port themselves just seems rather lazy; it seems like Mass-Media just stuck the games onto a PS3, forced it to render at 720p, added 3D and widescreen to Jak 1 and called it a day. It feels sort of rushed, and as you play you'll feel like the port could have been improved so much more with just a little bit more time focused into adding something as simple as anti-aliasing to games that don't even use up the PS3's power. I can't really see a reason why the collection didn't use anti-aliasing in the first place, and thus, the port just seems sloppy and lazy.

The Jak trilogy was games made by Naughty Dog during the early to mid part of the last decade. However this collection was not made by Naughty Dog but it was ported by a different company. Anyway if you have never played Jak then I would recomend to pick it up right now, cause these games are defiantly in my top 10 ever made. The genre that these were in is just about dead on this generation of consoles (except for super mario galaxy and very few others) thanks to all the first person shooters so this was a nice break to relieve my childhood and remember where everything was for the trophy s. Which speaking of trophys there is trophys for each of the 3 games and while the 1st is a mostly an easy platinum (except for finding every single orb in the game)the 2nd and 3rd games are very challenging to get all the trophy's for. The Graphics have been extremely improved expecilly the 2nd and 3rd games. The 1st has been improved a lot to but not quite as impressive but keep in mind that was one of the 1st good ps2 games. Anyway I'll have a short review for each of the games but if you have never played Jak and Daxter stop reading and buy it now.

Jak and Daxter-9/10 My first ps2 game also one of my favorite games of all time unlike the other Jak games this one is more like Super Mario 64 but better

Jak 2-10/10 Same as the first one this is one of my favorite games ever made and I know a lot of people like the 3rd better I actually preferred this one but this game is pretty much more platforming game and gran theft auto combined to make one epic game

Jak 3-8.5/10 this is a good end to the trilogy but I have only played this one a few times before and its they only jak game in this collection I haven't beat on ps2 which will change with this collection

I absolutely love this decal! It was very simple to put on. Anytime I see a sticker that you have to place on a product, it worries me. This one easily peeled off the sheet and applied to my PS3 beautifully. It was also very forgiving when I placed it in the wrong position. Just slowly peel it off and re-apply! If you get an air bubble just push it out towards the edge. The stickers are durable and tough. It would not be easy to scratch. I have had these on for about 2 weeks. The controller stickers are still in place and in perfect condition!

I'm a girly girl and wanted something that would stand out and be different. This is perfect!

From much playing of COD4, the 6 axis controllers (which I never liked anyway because of it's light weight) stick became unresponsive at certain angles after about 6 months so I got a duel shock 3 but sometimes the lateral motion just went both in the game(not fun at all) and within the PS3 menus occasionally and I had to turn the controller off and on again to have it work right again also other bizarre things like buttons changing functions and stuff... So I saw this on amazon and have been nothing but impressed. The 'analog' button on my old PS2 (which is reassuringly heavy and wired) works as the home button on the PS3 and brings up the main menu, but not it seems the overlay menu which doesn't bother me the only other thing that the controller doesn't do with this joy box attachment is turn the system on which doesn't bother me either you can turn the system off (through the main menu) though... Very occasionally, the PS3 doesn't seem to recognize the controller after start up, when one presses the PS2 controllers 'analog' button but I just turn the PS3 on and off again and it always seems to recognize it then...

A huge bonus is that the rumble functions on PS3 games that support rumble work with this attachment I just tested 'COD world at war' (don't often play this much prefer 'COD4 -modern warfare' which doesn't support rumble bring on modern warfare 2!) for the purposes of this review and works great...

Aesthetically it's not too bad either the usb cord connected to this is long enough to reach from my hip hight home theatre shelf to the floor so there's no heavy wire (PS2 controller) dragging on the PS3s usb input...

I'm very impressed wish I'd just got this instead of the duel shock 3 although It's still convenient to have a wireless controller for some applications.

Highly recommended.

I use it with my PS3 and it works flawlessly. Produces between 60-64 updates a second. It's inexpensive, simple, and works effectively. I highly recommend it if you're in need of a PS2/PS3 adapter.

Only works with 9 prong PS1/PS2 controllers. The plug for the controller has either 8 or 9 prongs this adapter only works with 9 prong controllers. They look like little metal spikes in the plug. If you have 8, this adapter will not work. Otherwise it works and has an arms length cord. Press and hold select and up on d-pad for Home menu options. Sometimes have to juggle this with a PS3 controller to get around, so need patience at times depending which was turned on first and set as controller 1 or 2, etc...

I ended up picking up a Joy Box at a local gaming shop because the guy I ordered one from here on Amazon never sent it (though he did refund my money upon request). I use the Joy Box with my XIM on the PS3 and it works flawlessly every time! I would have to assume it will work just as well with any other controller type you need to adapt as well. Enjoy!
