Bought this game for our 7 year old grandson to play when he comes to visit. He loves it and he could play it for hours if we let him. And, if there are adults in the house while he is playing everyone wants to play the game. My sister who is not one to play games had fun playing this one. The game said we would need the camera eye and hand held motion controller to play it but it works just fine without these. The regular controller that come with the PS3 are all you need. No need for the extra expense.

As a longtime fan of the game on multiple platforms, I'm happy to say that this is a really great port of the game. Once you get over the initial oddity in controls you'll be right back to where you were when playing it on PC, Android, or iOS. There are however some things that bother me about the game. First of all the volume.. it's loud VERY loud. Even if you adjust it via the settings the music and effects are still almost unbearably loud with my tv at normal volume (11 or 12). If I turn down everything to the first or 2nd notch under settings it's ok but still a bit on the loud side. Any other game on PS3 sounds fine at this volume as does other media such as music or movies. That aside even after you have set your volume preferences they're pointless on startup. The game starts at full volume until you press the start button to get past the main menu then it throttles down. I usually just have to mute my tv when I start the game otherwise it'll startle me from the other room when I run to get a snack after inserting the disc. Aside from the volume the credits are crazy long, this isn't super important but anyone who's played the original will understand why I mention it. I was scrolling for a good 3 minutes. Anyway back to the game itself. All the promised levels are here and more. The gameplay is a tad different but still fun and the layout of everything as decent enough. I don't like that I can't scroll backwards through the chapter select screen but it has always been like that so not really an issue. As others have mentioned price is a factor here.. I purchased the game for 19.99$ around the time of amazon's black friday sale. 20 bucks for 3 angry birds games is perfect imho. Now that the price has gone back up you may want to wait for a sale or buy it used. There is no DLC code included nor is there any available at this time so buying it used/like new won't hurt ya. I very much look forward to DLC possibly being added in the future so that I can play Space and possibly Star Wars, but I'm not going to hold my breath in the meantime incase it never happens. Anyway I need to go play now before my lunch is over. :p

My wife and I played the down loadable PS3 game (we are in our 40's). She loved it.

I got the Trilogy because it's the only game she likes and it gives us more time together. We get to poke fun at each other for bad shots, it's good honest fun.

It was very expensive as far as I'm concerned, but well worth it.

The game it's self is great. Lots of (new to us) levels. Hours and hours of play time.

This game works much better than the $3 PS3 downloaded game.

Great scenery, better control and new (to us) features.

but I expected more from this video game than just angry birds. It is just Angry Birds Rio, Classic and something else. I wouldn't have paid that price if I knew it was the same game we play on our iPads.

I was a bit surprised to see IGN and other gaming sites give this game lower ratings. While not the most impressive game in the world, it is definitely more fun than they made it out to be.

Lost Planet definitely has some downsides, however, these cons do not make the game worthy of avoiding.

For example, one of the most annoying parts of Lost Planet is the fact that a 5 gigabyte installation of content is required before you can play. Another downside is that the same button is used to exit your vehicle as to pick up weapons for that vehicle, meaning you could be trying to pick up some much needed ammo and instead find yourself jumping out of your vehicle directly into harms way. And, despite the massive content installation, there are still a few points in the game where frames will be dropped and the screen will hang up a bit. However, these things I believe gamers will find to be forgivable.

Now for the pros...Gameplay for one. I found the game to be a unique and rather entertaining mix of first/third-person action and mech-style combat. Parts of the game you will play on foot while others will be impossible without a VS (mech.) Also, the graphics are pretty nice, granted this game did come out a while ago (and it's a 360 port...) so they are not as impressive as more recent releases. The cutscenes, however, I found to be very nice.

Overall, I found Lost Planet to be a worthwhile gaming experience, despite the flaws. The originality of the game definitely makes it worth checking out.

Allow me to start out by saying, Why did a lot of people/review sites give this game such a low ratings??

With that said, Lost Planet (LP) is a great game, while it doesn't do anything groundbreaking,it offers a lot of fun. The graphics are nothing to write home about but they are nice and do the job well, The story is a little bare bones but does have a surprising plot twist.

Length wise the game has 11 missions with cut-scenes in between each one. Each mission took me on average of 45 min each with the exception of the first 2 missions witch took me 30min to finish. LP can be beat in a weekend if you put your mind to it,but for me it took about 5 days to complete,I'd do 2 missions a night witch was more than enough for a person who is not used to TPS (3rd person shooters) I'm a RPG nut at my core.

Overall for the price you cant go wrong,It would cost you about $6 to rent, put in another $10 and own it. Perfect to waste a weekend on,or good for 5 days playing 2 missions a day :D.

Other than Bioshock, this is the "strangest" game I've played on our PS3. It just has a WEIRD feel to it. Maybe it's the non-stop frigid planet...Or the obvious Japanese flavor to it...Or the cuss-inducing Boss battles that alternate with simple pushover Boss battles...Or the chief Japanese villain most oddly named "Dennis Isenberg"...Or the near coma-inducing cutscenes...Or the whole Mechs vs bugs thing. Perhaps it's ALL of those together. It's just STRANGE.

However, that doesn't mean it wasn't FUN. Lost Planet has some really enjoyable aspects. The rocket-fired grappling hook allows you to move vertically in addition to the normal horizontal play of most shooters. The mechs (V-S suits) add another dimension to the battles. You also have to continually locate T-ENG to avoid freezing to death in the elements. And any game with gattling guns, rocket launchers, shotties, laser and sniper rifles, homing missles and plasma guns can't be all bad...There are even BIG versions of these weapons too that can be shot from mechs or by hand.

If you like Boss battles, then there are 3 or 4 of them in this game that will give you a pretty good challenge. They're practically impossible to win on the first try on just normal difficulty. In fact, it will take a dozen or more tries for some players. There's one (the Giant Worm) you CAN'T DEFEAT no matter what you do...You just end up throwing your PS3 out the window or giving up the game or running away (the correct option here). As a rule, I don't like games that put invincible Bosses in them. It can take a great deal of time and effort just to finally find out there was nothing you could do to win...

One of the more annoying parts of this game were the cutscenes. There are some that truly sound like the voice talent were all in the same room taking turns READING their lines with a complete absence of emotion. This makes it really hard to get into a game. In addition, your character just fought through a large portion of bug and pirate-infested frozen tundra to reach another area, then he magically appears back at the command post in an involved discussion during the next cutscene...WTH?!?! I found myself DREADING the next cutscene, repeatedly. Talk about phoned-in performances...

The controls were mostly GOOD. But I kept running into a frustrating exchange problem when trying to replace weapons on the mechs. For example, you're in the heat of battle and jump the mech over to a rocket launcher you want to place on the right side of it. If you're SLIGHTLY out of position, it shows up on the left side ready for pickup, then you get hit by Boss fire and have to maneuver back to do the same thing again, all the while taking damage. Another example is just walking up to an empty mech in a Boss battle. If you are slightly off to the side, the screen may briefly show press "O to enter", then you press O and end up removing the weapon off the side mount. So then you have to press "O to attach" it again before entering or enter first then pick up the weapon, and some of these annoying delays can make the difference in a heated Boss battle. Having another button other than just "O" to enter, remove and attach weapons to mechs would make more sense to me.

The end cutscene was really pretty weak. Maybe I should say EXCEPTIONALLY weak. In fact, if it's late at night, you might just fall asleep to it. And that kind of sums up my experience with Lost Planet EC. I mean, your hero character loses his memory at the exact moment he shoots the bad guy. Apparently his friends who were watching the exchange just left him there when he went face down in the snow instead of taking him inside for medical care. Then he wanders around in a roughly 1/2 mile radius outside of the main base (where his friends are inside and warm & toasty) so he can bump into them when they finally come outside several months later. Just a HORRIBLE ending that was obviously tacked on in the final moments of development. You end up saying, "THAT WAS IT?!?!"

The whole game has the feel of a newbie director who was going for a summer blockbuster in his first directing gig, but ends up with a late night cult classic "B" movie instead. Some parts were enjoyable...Some parts deplorable. That's what you get with Lost Planet EC...

I remember about 3 years ago I used to play the demo for this game for hours on end, and I really wanted to buy it. After some time I forgot about this game, but ever since I bought it I've had so much fun with this game. Truly one of the best games for PS3.

These are just your standard silicone glove for the PS3 controller. I do like the color of these it has a sort of luminous glow to the color. these are a little transparent and with my white remote it really looks good. I'm glad they send you 2 because these seem to be a little thin and I'm afraid that they might rip if I take them off but I don't know if they will.

I've tried many wireless headsets for my PS3 and this one thus far is my favorite. While it does not have the range of some others and also has no MUTE function, in terms of comfort and reliability, I love and use this unit all the time for extended online gaming sessions.

Sound quality is excellent as is its adjustable boom-mic. You can easily drink from a can, bottle or glass while wearing the unit and still have the mic in a comfortable position. The mic's noise muting works pretty well too and the audio from the small ear-phone is very good. It's also very comfortable (much better than any in-the-ear model I have had) and has a very good battery life. I have had extended gaming sessions (6+ hours) without losing the power and without an ear-ache! I can't say that about any in-ear model which tend to hurt your ear after 20 minutes.

In terms of range, it will work a good 20 feet from the base unit any farther and it begins to break up pretty badly. But, if you run off to the kitchen and lose connectivity, re-syncing is as easy as pressing the large side button on the ear-piece upon return. A tone let's you know it's connected and you're back in business.

The volume adjustment buttons are easy enough to get to on the ear-piece as well. However, unless you memorize their position it's a guessing game of which is up or down most of the time. Not much of a drawback though (for me) since I set the volume at a good level and leave it alone. For others who want to adjust routinely, this could present an issue though.

Lastly, I have a fairly small head and this unit fits me very well. I have tried other over-the-head and behind-the-ear units that were very loose. This is not an issue with the Datel which fits snugly and does not move. Since it's adjustable, I assume it will also fit larger heads equally well. None of my friends who have tried it have encountered an issue with fit.

Overall, this unit gets 4 stars only due to its limited range and lack of MUTE which I really like for any gaming headset.

This is a good choice though and one you will be happy with. I know I am. :)

This item turned out to be not so great.

Fully charged ,at 6 feet away if you turned your head it would get faint and make a beeping at times for no reason.

The plastic adjustment on the top would dig in to the top of your head after a while, not comfortable at all.

This cold have been a hit but was not thought out and has poor electronics.

I bought this for my daughter to play COD. I'm telling you it's a GREAT buy ! I originally got her Sony bluetooth headset 2.0. I figured I can't go wrong with a Sony brand , But had to return it coz the sound was muffled, she couldn't hear well and kept falling off. Now communication is clear and loud, In fact too well. For those of you that play multiplayer online and you have that one kid in your party that wont shut up , well they're probably using Game Talk. I'd rather listen to that than a player that sounds like they're using a "Blender" . The only Con there is no mute button. I have a solution, cover the mic. Bottom line it WORKS and It's inexpensive. If you're in the market for a bluetooth headset and not wanting to use Motorola, Jabra and what not, GO WITH THESE.

I was worried because this headset is not officially sponsored by Sony, but I also knew I would not be happy with a blue tooth item on my head. This headset is adjustable, its light weight, the sound comes through great, and only the other people's voices, so I can still hear the game sound through my expensive tv or sound system. It doesn not make my ear hot, like the over the ear head phones do, and it does not make my ear uncomfortble at all, even after hours of game play. Only down side is there is no "mute" buttom, and you can't play while charging. But if you plan ahead and charge overnight, there should be no worries. Buy it!

I use this everyday, battery life is good and I sit at least 8 feet away, and can walk into my kitchen up to 15 feet away and carry on a conversation with friends in game and not get crackly or loose connection. Works great with Black Ops.
