I've been a big fan of Killzone since it came out on the PS2. With each game the developer has taken slow but SOLID steps in creating a strong FPS game that refuses to pull its punches. Each installment improves upon the existing and Killzone 3 doesn't disappoint. The rumors of a short campaign, blotchy storyline, etc are very overblown. Not only does Killzone 3 deliver a solid, faster paced single player campaign than the previous installment, but the Multi-Player is some of the most addictive I've experienced.

GAMEPLAY Single Player

If you played Killzone 2, better yet... the KZ3 SP demo you know what to expect. I actually found the controls of the final product smoother than the demo. There was more response to the aiming and I even had to turn down my sensitivity from what I had been playing the demo at. The campaign of the game easily spans about 6-8 hours or did so for me, which is far better than the 4-5 hrs some review sites were claiming. They either rushed through the game or played it on Easy (which is no fun, you feel like a god on Easy mode) Combat is fast yet smooth with the enemy AI being quite smart in how it combats you. You can see there was a very high polish put into the Helghast AI as they will consistently take cover, blind fire and work to create flanking setups on you. If you played through Killzone 2's campaign KZ3 has a similar setup to how it progresses(cutscene, tons of combat/action, cutscene... rinse and repeat) The gameplay gets changed up consistently. You can go from ground n' pound style to suddenly on a tank turret back to ground pounding then suddenly in a mech then flying a jetpack etc. There are some rail shooter events (clearly designed for the MOVE controller support) but they actually do a great job giving you a break from being a foot soldier. Overall, the single player campaign has quite a lot to offer with plenty of variety and embracing you in a true feeling of war.

Multiplayer Not my strong point but the MP is actually enjoyable. If you played the KZ3 MP demo there isn't much that has changed other than new maps and some small improvements. The MP setup is the best Killzone has offered yet and might even give Call of Duty a run for its money on the PS3. While the MP might not be for everyone it is definitely worth checking out and has a lot of potential for some great competitive matches.

STORY/SOUND

Killzone is pretty much the story of the ISA and Helghast war. First Helghast invades the ISA, the ISA counter and Killzone 3 picks up right where Killzone 2 ends. Don't expect an award winning storyline here but it is present. Killzone 3 focuses this time on the ISA efforts to escape as well as the internal workings of the Helghast leaders. It provides more depth than the previous games while not being to overly chatty. Killzone 3 does a better job presenting the story than Killzone 2 did I feel, but it also brings to light the storyline is very weak. However, story was never really Killzone's main object. *** The Audio in KZ3 is fantastic. Guns sound powerful, AI units and Helghast enemies sound very life like. Ambient noise is incredible especially during firefights. You can tell they worked really hard polishing this game so that the audio effects help immerse you into the gameplay.

GRAPHICS

I don't even have to say much here. The graphics look amazing. While they aren't jaw dropping nor give you "awe factor" like sun sets and stuff; Killzone 3 uses its powerful graphic engine to give you a very realistic feel of the battle. Snow, water, fire, gun shots.. it all looks amazing and creates stunning environments. The only negative I could say about the graphics is that when you go to a cut-scene the character textures don't look nearly as good as the weapon and level textures. But, we all know we're playing Killzone 3 for the in game action not looking at how bad Sev needs a new haircut ^_^

REPLAY/LENGTH

As said earlier, for me the SP campaign on NORMAL clocked in at 6-8 hrs give or take. The campaign was a ton of fun and just like Killzone 2 I could see myself playing through it quite a few times to try for some trophies, or just to own some Helghast. What truely boosts the length and replay-ability of this game is the MP. I wasn't fond of KZ2's multiplayer so while KZ2 had lots of SP replay for me, it did lack that MP edge. KZ3 however comes to the table with all cylinders firing. While SP is def worth replaying, the MP is what is worth keeping this game within arms reach at all times. Even if you are not competitive(casual like me), the MP is fun with plenty of features to keep you occupied for some time.

OVERALL (91% 9.1/A-)

Killzone 3 didn't disappoint. It has been a long wait and well worth it. The MP is better than expected and the SP-campaign exceeded my expectations. I would give this game overall a 91% (9.1/10). The game fired on all cylinders and what small negatives I encountered were far from game breaking. The only real gripes I would take I found in the SP-campaign.

1. The ISA voice acting wasn't really that good. There was no sense of urgency in their voices and it just felt like they were reading lines (except for Rico, Sev and Jammer they had some great voice acting, as did the Helghast)

2. Sometimes the Objective marker would simply bug out. When I would try to tag where I had to go nothing would appear and my objectives menu would be empty (but I clearly had to destroy 2 more tanks or set a door charge somewhere). Minor annoyance

3. Melee damaged doors to open them oddly, I would Melee the door and about a second later it would explode. Weird lag, only was happening on the interactive doors you could break.

Outside of those 3 issues the game was pretty much a fantastic FPS that well warrants a 91% score. It delivers a solid SP campaign experience and outstanding MP setup. A MUST BUY for any FPS fan

** v1.03 was released 2/24/2011 this version has fixed Issue 2 and Issue 3 on my end **

I have now finished the single-player campaign and spent over 10 hours playing online multiplayer (all modes). I played through the campaign using the Move controller. I played through part of the campaign again using the standard controller. I played through the entire campaign in 3D and through part of it in 2D, to compare.

So I've pretty much blown every whistle and rung every bell Sony's including with this game (the only thing I haven't tried is the offline co-op). Here's what I thought of the entire thing:

The Good:

Online Multiplayer. It's incredibly fun. Using the Move controller gives you better accuracy, which usually lands me in first or second place. It almost feels like cheating, but this is the direction Sony took.

Single player campaign. Ignore the bitter critics who are crying because they didn't get a chance to play it in 3D or they're rendered incapable of praising any FPS that doesn't star Master Chief or have someone Calling for Duty. This is in the top 10 best FPS titles ever made. Its set-pieces are similar to early Lucas or Spielberg movies in how EPIC they are. Think Raiders of the Lost Ark or any of the first 3 Star Wars' films. It's a really well put together game with more jaw-dropping moments than the last 3 Halos combined.

The Move Controls. They work better than you could imagine. They work better than the dualshock itself. It's the closest you're going to come to the keyboard/mouse experience on a console, without literally using a keyboard and mouse on a console. Very accurate. Very fun to play.

The graphics. Pure awesomeness. Thought Killzone 2 looked good? This one looks better.

The Bad:

As much as I loved it, the campaign is way too short (7 hours to finish on medium difficulty) and may be just a little too disjointed. There were a few times where they went overboard making scenes that would stand out in 3D and leave 2D gamers scratching their heads. If the single-player campaign ran 10-20 hours, I would have given Killzone 3 a 5 out of 5. I'm sure they'll have more of the game to sell us later (there's a "6 months later" moment that feels created for DLC).

Lack of maps. I'm not sure how many maps the game comes with, but with 10+ hours of play time, I haven't seen more than 6 or 7. Not to mention, everyone memorizes one map and then keeps voting to play it over and over again, which is really annoying. Again, I'm sure they'll have plenty more maps to sell us later as DLC. Am I the only one noticing that to get a "full" game, you have to shell out around $120? Seems like sort of a scam.

The Ugly ... er ... "Helghast":

The 3D. The 3D worked well enough. Some parts were worthy of pure amazement. One section had me screaming out to my girlfriend, "Now THIS is what 3D gaming's about!" Then I felt like a geek. A geek wearing $100 3D glasses. Thinking back on it, it's hard to believe she's stayed with me this long.

The problem with the 3D is the nonstop crosstalk (it's worse in darker areas and cutscenes). If you're not all that familiar with 3D, crosstalk basically looks like you're having double (or even triple) vision. This can be pretty problematic when you're staring at three crosshairs, when there's only supposed to be one. I just kept the, "hit the one in the middle" line from Rocky IV in mind. It's the worst crosstalk I've seen in a game or in a movie. Which sucks, because, had it not been wrecked by the crosstalk, it would have easily been the best 3D ever put into a game.

That said, if you have the chance, I'd recommend playing in 3D. At least a few of the scenes (feel free to ask me in the comments, which parts work best in 3D -I don't want to give away spoilers in this review). But for all the 3D hype, the game looks and plays just fine in 2D. I wouldn't invest in that 3DTV just yet -at least not if you're doing so just for this game. On the other hand, I'd definitely invest in this game. If you're a fan of shooters; you won't be disappointed!

The single player mode is short but oh how sweet it is! Fantastic looking environments, constant action, and melee kills that make you feel like a badass!

The multiplayer mode has amazing maps, and several different classes to choose from. This is so different from games like COD because you can actually choose how you want to play the game. Do you want to infiltrate the other team and trick them into believing you are one of them? Or is healing people more your style? Well you can do either, plus much more!

Also, if you have slow internet or just don't like playing online, it also has a botzone mode, which is essentially an offline multiplayer where you compete with AI Bots. This mode is a great way to explore maps and decide which class is your favorite! Buy this game! You won't regret it!

Matching the enormous expectations that people had for Killzone 2 a few years back was a very tall order, but Guerrilla games managed to pull it off. With Killzone 3 Guerrilla does it again making everything look larger in scope.

The graphics are top notch and top what was done in the second game, incredible in itself considering K2 was one of the best looking games in the market. One thing is for sureyou won't find a better looking FPS out there. And yes, Crysis 2 is pretty but the level of detail on K3 just takes the game to a completely different level.

Control is spot on with both a dual shock and Move. I was pleasantly surprised about the latter. I didn't think I was able to pull accurate shots as easily but I was wrong. Move implementation makes playing the game excellent.

Multiplayer has seen an evolution from K2 that makes the challenge even more entertaining. The skill ladder allows for newcomers to rank up right away, while allowing experienced players to have further rewards for the time they put into it.

The story has received some criticism, but those comments are misleading. The reality is that the story in K3 is just as good as K2's. What it means is that it is far better than most of the FPS's out there but not as dramatic as an Uncharted 2 or Heavy Rain. Of course, those two games are very tall orders to beat. Killzone 3's story is good and even more compelling than K2's as it was a great idea to focus on what happened after the events of the latter with a small ISA force stranded in Helhgan and going from bad to worse. The acting is good and even Rico is more appealing this time around.

The only complaint about the game, and a minor one at that, is how most of the "heft" that your character had in K2 has been removed to appeal to those used to the loose controls of the likes of Call of Duty or Halo. I prefer the K2 controls as not only they made the character feel more realistic but also allowed for more accurate shooting in motion.

Killzone 3 is a MUST HAVE game for every PS3 owner and even for action/FPS game enthusiasts out there.

When i started to shop around for a gaming headset, i mostly heard about two main brands: Turtle Beach and Triton. Many people say that you can't go wrong with either. But, while shopping around, I came across Sharkoon. There really isn't much online in regards to this headset, so i figured i would check out their higher-end headset. (The X-Tatic 5.1 with surround sound) This headset received fantastic reviews across the boards. I figured if the company made quality headsets, i would check out the x-tatic sp...even without any reviews online. And i am not disappointed.

What made me reluctant to go with the Turtle Beach PX21 headset is how it looked. It was not very sexy. The Triton AX-180 looked nice, but it was $80. Since the x-tatic sp was $10 cheaper, i figured i would check them out. Not only is the sound excellent and crisp, but the headset is extremely comfortable and is continuously comfortable for long periods of time (which is important for a gaming headset). My brother has the Triton AXPROs and he loved this headset. (for those of you who don't know, the AXPROs have surround sound and are the top of the line Tritons) Why spend more than double the money to get surround sound when you can get a great sounding headset at this price range? And, for those of you who doubt the price of a stereo gaming headset, it is totally worth the price. I have never used one before while gaming...and it makes a total difference. People aren't lying when they say they hear things they didn't hear before. Its true! When you run by trees/brush you hear the rustle as you run by. You hear footsteps. Gun fire and other sounds help you locate where the shots are being fired so you can find the enemy. Even without a 5.1 surround sound headset (which really only refers to the amount of speakers in the ear cup to produce that surround sound feeling) you hear the sounds as if you were in the middle of the action. Shooting games just feel like they were made to be played with a headset like this.

So, if you are in the market for a stereo gaming headset, i can't knock the Turtle Beachs or Tritons, but i can definitely say that these would not disappoint. Great sound quality and comfortability...all you need in a gaming headset!

I really dig using my expensive and well thought out home theater system to play Battlefield on w/ my PS3. But, my wife doesn't dig it quite as much especially when I have a bit more free time and go on a marathon session. I bought this headset after reading the reviews and figured if I didn't like them, I'd just send them back. I have to say that I'd never really heard of Sharkoon but I'm really impressed with these headphones. I doubt that you get any added benefits out of a "5.1 or 7.1" headphone set, so save your money. A true 5.1 or 7.1 system relies on placement of the speakers and it's impossible to place 5.1 or 7.1 speakers correctly inside a pair of headphones.

More to the fact, these things sound really, really good. They have a good amount of low end for my Battlefield action. The highs are crisp too. And the wife can't complain too much when I'm gaming in silence. These thing can go really loud so be careful. They seem to be really well made and should last quite awhile. The snap in microphone works well as well.

Couple notesif you like to play further away from your console, invest a couple dollars into a USB extension cable. The usb port provides the power and also is for the microphone as well. The included USB cable is pretty long but, I like to sit further back. Also with the PS3 make sure you have your original video/audio output cable. This is what the headphones hook into for the sound. Other than that you're good to go. The headset has 2 volume controls for the headphones and mic respectively as well as a mute switch for the Mic. If you are going to be using these off and on and still want to use your A/V receiver also make sure you select the "mutiple audio output" selection in the PS3 settings panel. This will allow you to switch between your headset and A/V receiver/ TV without having to constantly make any changes in the settings.

After reading literally HUNDREDS of headset reviews before making a purchase, I decided it was only fair to write one of my own. In all fairness and disclosure, I have no previous gaming experience with a headset at all. I've been playing the last four Call Of Duty games on Playstation 3 with only a BlueTooth mic hanging on my ear. I have, however, maxed out the Prestige levels online for the last three games and am close to Prestige level 4 on Black OPS. I only add this to express that I do have quite a bit of online experience. I feel I am qualified to be an accurate and fair judge of what may or may not be "game-changing".

I decided on the Sharkoon X-Tatic SP headset. The main factors for the decision were price and reviews. At around $60-$70, I felt I could get the quality I was looking for without feeling that I spent too much. There were only a few negative reviews, but you have to be willing to throw out 20-30% of reviews just based on "fan-boy" loyalties and anything written by someone under the age of 20. No offense, just percentages people!

Again to be fair, I just received my new headset today. If at anytime in the future something goes wrong with these or changes my opinion, I will immediately update this review. I honestly will.

That being said, I can't believe how amazing these are! They are stereo, so super-techie-guy that has to have Dolby 5.1 surround likely need not apply. However, I would contend that most "regular" gamers would be extremely happy with this headset. It feels very durable, fits comfortably and sets up in a breeze! The instructions comes in about 40 languages and are really just pictures diagramming what each cable or button is, but you should be able to figure it out quickly. You will need your original AV cable that came with your PS3. (I can't speak for X-Box, but it looks equally simple)

The audio is remarkable. Yes, there is a slight hiss that some have complained about, but only when there was no other sound. I really didn't find it bothersome.

I've been gaming on low volume for years so as not to wake my wife and kids. NO MORE! I had no concept of how detailed and actually important the sound design could be until I HEARD IT! Like a virgin catching his first frag to the groin, I was laughing with joy! I do believe that these will be "game-changing".

Now I'm a run-n-gunner through and through. I never sit still. I'm not fire-miss-hide-in-the-corner-guy. I will run straight at your face over and over and if that fails, loop around and shank you in the neck. What will change now is that I can possibly die "a little less"! Haha.... after playing with these on for an hour, I was averaging about 25 kills to 9 deaths on TDM. My kills are generally around there on a normal basis, but many times my deaths are in the higher teens. I could hear so clearly when someone was near that i had to adjust my reaction time!

The sound quality reproduced through the Sharkoon headset is remarkable. I feel that I have spent wisely. I was so impressed that I turned off my system and sat down to write this review. There are many, many different types of headsets out there. Most of them cost double and triple what these do. Why? I'm even glad I didn't spend more for the next model up Sharkoon's! I'm sure they're amazing, but I have no need to spend that much. The Sharkoon X-Tatic SP is an amazing, quality product, in my opinion. They are very comfortable to wear. I felt no strain at all on my neck. Everything about these screams quality. I've read enough horror stories about the other brands to be really, really happy with this purchase!

I told my parents that I would like to either have this Sharkoon SP or the Turtlebeach X11 for Christmas. My parents gave me these. They are a pretty good set of headphones. The mic is clear, the sound is good for both my PC and Xbox. But there are some things I have noticed....

1. When I first switched over I compared them to my old ones (which were some cheepish $15 ones) and I nodiced that the sound was a little... gritty compared to the ones I had before which were slightly clearer. Which I was supprised. But as I use them more I dont really nodice the grittyness. So I wouldnt really worry about it.

2. There is no noise filter/proofer(or whatever) at all. I can hear everything around me as clear as if I had them off. So, If you are used to gaming in an environment where your younger siblings/kids constantly find the need to play killer robots vs. the cyborg T-rex, your parents like to discuss the dinner plans for the next month, or you have that roomate that likes to watch MTV with the volume all the way up. FORGET IT! Unless you want to battle it out and end up damaging your eardrums in the prossess.

3. Along with the 2nd issue, when I use it on my computer it seems to have its own volume max. Where no matter how loud I turn the volume up through my computer, It never gets any louder/loud enough. However, that could just be my computer and my computer is set up in one of those type of areas as I suggested in issue 2. When I use it on my Xbox the volume is fine, in fact I have to turn it down. But my Xbox Is set up in a quieter setting.

Summary

PROS: Fine sound quality, good mic, sleek disign, works great for both Xbox and PC.

CONS: NO SOUND PROOFING, slight hiss but nothing too noticeable, and long cord.

Hopes this helps.

Don't buy this model (you might get the one I returned).

Right out-of-the-box, one Port would not charge any controller. All ports had a hard time holding the smaller controller. After finally getting three controller ports to start charging, I let them charge for a day. All of the Port Charging Lights changed from Red (Uncharged) to Blue (Full Charge). When I started to use them, they did not have a full battery charge. I had to plug them in to the USB on my Playstation before I could play a full game. I am VERY disappointed.

The Design looks great, and I like the Lights... but I didn't order a Lamp.

JUNK.

I got this item because it charges four controllers at once. I've just resorted to buying the Sony-manufactured one because this one is garbage. First off, only one of the charging ports worked most of the time, and then it didn't always work. The rest would every now and then start to charge only to stop a second or two later. The controllers did not fit into the port, falling out if touched ever so lightly, and the chargers in the port scratched the bottoms of the controllers. Do not buy this product.

I ordered this charging station with full hopes the negative reviews were wrong, and for one day I thought it wasn't all that bad. Yes, it was hard to get a navigation controller to charge, but I was able to get it to work. Then 24 hours later, the whole thing stopped working properly. None of the controllers would keep charging on it...I'll have to side with those who cannot recommend this product...I am returning it and getting the official Sony charger instead. Two less ports is a shame, but two working is better than four broken any day!

I purchased this charging station due to the great price, even after i read all the bad reviews after all it couldn't be as bad as they all said right? Well it's not that bad, in fact after using it for a week the only thing about it i dislike is the bright lights, but that was easily taken care of by covering then with some thin strips of black electrical tape. Now i hardly see the lights at all.

It charges very well as long as yo make sure the controllers are in place correctly, and that is not a hard thing to do. Just place the controller into the charge port and give it a slight turn until they fall into place. Once they are in the correct place they will hardly turn at all and there you have it a correctly docked controller. Not at all that hard to do.

My charging station works with all four ports. I am sure things can go wrong during manufacturing that can cause a port to not charge but it obviously doesn't happen on every single charging system like some of the reviews say.

In the end the charging station works just as described, charging up to four controllers at a time without to much of a issue and at a great low price.

Want PS3 Move Quadruple Port Charging Station Discount?

This is a piece of JUNK! Don't buy it. All of the connecting pins have either broken off or bent over to the point of no return. None of my controllers will charge in this anymore and I have only had it a couple of months. What a poor design for a charging system. I took other peoples advice on Amazon and bought the NYKO Quad Charging Station it's $3 more, but much better engineering.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: 5-23-2013 Like many others, my left ear cup went out. I didn't drop them, never mishandled them in anyway, always took the best care of them, and yet the ear cup still went out. Turtle Beach promptly responded to my issue with an RMA request. They didn't try to troubleshoot it at all (because they know its an issue I assume). So I sent my XP Seven back to them. To their credit, the RMA process was very quick and easy. I received a brand new headset about a week later. While I am happy to have a brand new headset, I am worried this problem will happen again and again. I guess they will just keep replacing them until my warranty is up. Anyway, the entire process has left a very bad taste in my mouth. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH A $250-$300 HEADSET. I am leaving my review at 2 stars, because I absolutely love the headset when its working. I think its amazing. But an inherent flaw as bad as this can't go unmarked.

Intro: This is an unbiased review. I have used other Turtle Beach, Astro, and other audiophile headsets.

The XP Seven is Turtle Beach's new top tier wired headset. While much of it is the same as before, it brings some new things to the table. Is it worth it? Read below and decide for yourself

PRESENTATION/ACCESORIES: The XP Seven comes in a very nice box. It is very well packaged. It appears to be a quality headset from the moment you open the box. It comes with every cable one would need for hooking up to your Xbox 360, PS3, PC/MAC, and any standard mobile device like Ipad, Vita, Iphone. (this includes a specific cable that comes with the standard mp3 player controls on the cord, nice!).

COMFORT/BUILD QUALITY: This is the most solid TB headset I have ever held. It doesn't feel quite as solid as Astro A40's, but it comes pretty close. The memory foam feels better than that which is on the TB Tangos. The headset is pretty tight on my head, but I have a pretty big head. However, it isn't so tight that it bothers me, even after extended gaming sessions. I have kept it on for hours and been completely fine. When I put them around my neck (when I take them off) they pretty much strangle my neck, which is uncomfortable, but not really important. Although at first my ears seemed a little warm after wearing them for extended periods, I don't even notice it now. I am completely satisfied with the comfort so far. On that note, I think Astro A40s are a bit more comfortable. (this isn't an A40 comparison review, I am just trying to give a popular benchmark)

SOUND: It's the best TB headset I have ever heard, and I have tried all of the top tier ones. Everything comes through clearly. It is definitely as good as the A40s in this area. Some people have noticed the sound doesn't seem to go very high. They are right. It doesn't get SUPER loud. However, it does get plenty loud enough for me, which is saying something, because I like things louder than most. This setting can probably be adjusted through the Advanced Sound Editor, but I have yet to try.(SEE UPDATES BELOW FOR VOLUME SOLUTION) You can independently adjust game and chat volume, which is great. There may be one minor sound problem though. Refer to the problems section.

MIC: Works great. It's detachable. It's very flexible and can be positioned exactly where you want it. My friends say I sound great. The optional mic monitoring is great, (this is real mic monitoring, not a joke of a mic monitor that Astro claims to have) but if you don't like it, you can turn it off on the fly. The presets to make your voice change are also very fun. Very useless, but very fun.

FUNCTIONALITY: This is what sold me on the headset. The ability to plug them into anything you want. As I game on multiple platforms, this was an absolute must for me, and the XP Seven delivers completely. I have used it successfully on Xbox, PS3, PC, iPhone and iPad. When using for mobile, you obviously don't have to take the Audio Control Unit with you; just grab the mobile cable and your headset and you are good to go.

FEATURES: The main seller of this headset is the Audio Control Unit that comes with it. It comes with tons of presets for game volume and chat. I have mostly been using the standard ones, but having the option to tune it exactly how you want through the Advances Sound Editor is great. I have tested it, and it does work with the current Advanced Sound Editor available at the TB website. The ACU also allows you to plug in an MP3 device or phone to use while gaming. Never miss another call from your Mom or Girlfriend. Bonus! The adjustable surround sound angles are pretty neat as well, since everyone's ears are different. I have been testing surround sound through COD Zombies, and it's working great. They ACU has lots of little features like mic mute, mute all, running sound through your speakers as well as the headset, and more.

This is also the official MLG headset which is good I guess? I don't really care about MLG, but if you are into that sort of thing, then great. This brings me to my next point...TB plans on having customizable speaker plates in the future. I plan on taking advantage of this ASAP, as I don't care for the look of the currents ones with the MLG tag and all.

FINAL VERDICT: I love it so far. If you need the cross platform capability, get this or the OLD AstroA40's (the new ones are a mess, trust me, I owned them). The sound on these isn't going to blow you away (unless you're coming from weak TV speakers or something), no gaming headsets sound is really going to be amazing compared to some audiophile headphones. But they sound pretty dang good regardless. Yes the Sevens have a hefty price-tag, but if you're a big gamer (especially one who could utilize these elsewhere like in the car or with an ipod) I would say it's worth the price. If you just need a headset for one console, or you want wireless, this probably isn't the headset for you. (note: I have tested other TB headsets (like the Tango) on PC, and while it does "work," it doesn't work nearly as well as the XP Seven does.

UPDATES: I will update this review as needed with any new problems, any fixed problems, or any other relevant developments. Hit up the comments with any questions, and I will do my best to answer you. Enjoy the headset!

UPDATE 2/7/2013 LOW VOLUME SOLUTION: A lot of people are very confused about the max volume of this headset. They are right, at stock settings, it doesn't get super loud. This is because TB included a feature where you can manually adjust the volume of each surround sound speaker. So, to make your headset louder, each individual volume needs to be turned up. To do this, hit the 5.1 button. Each time you hit this, it will switch to a different speaker set. You need to hit this button, then you will see the speaker indicator lights come on, then turn your volume knob up. You need to do this for each speaker. This will make your headset MUCH louder. Credit for this goes to OLGC2977 on YouTube. I have heard reports that the headset is no longer shipping with the volume turned down, so this may not even be an issue still.

UPDATE 2/9/2013 AUDIO DROPOUT SOLUTION: I mentioned above that on low volumes my audio would cut in and out. I fixed this by adjusting the "Threshold" which you can find under the "Silencer" section of the current preset you're using. This is done through the advanced sound editor. While this has solved 90% of the problem, there is still an occasional game where the sound drops out. Annoying, but not a big deal.

Still wondering if this headset is for you? Just a note, stores like Gamestop have a different return policy for their headsets than they do for their games. You can buy them and return them no questions asked within 7 days, and within 30 if it breaks. If you're trying to decide between this and another, buy both and return one! (I love Amazon, and their return policy is great, but alas, you do have to wait for shipping)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are looking for one of Turtle Beach's great wireless headsets for your video games (PS3/360/PC), then you want to look at any of the other models. If you are primarily a PS3 gamer, check out the PX/P series. If you're primarily a 360 gamer, check out the XP models (though most of the newer sets all seem to work on both systems, it's just that one system is the focus over the other).

To avoid reading the lengthy review, here's a short review:

If want the best surround sound experience possible, with the best possible sound and fully customizable presets, and don't mind being "tethered" with wires, this headset is what you are looking for.

Highly recommended.

Longer review:

Unboxing:

Turtle Beach does a fantastic job yet again at making you feel like you've gotten something of the highest quality. The outer sleeve tells you everything you might need to know (WIRED, PS3, 360, PC, Mac and Mobile) and looks professional. When you pull the sleeve off (I had 2 plastic stickers on the top and bottom holding the sleeve to the main box), that's where the quality really shines. The box folds open and is held closed with a magnet. You pop it open and the headset sits behind a piece of clear plastic. Below the headset is the "Audio Control Unit" (the brains of the headset) in it's own box. Pull the plastic out and beneath that is the accessory box and the CD sleeve with the instructions inside.

The only thing I had an issue pulling out of the box easily was the console interface box. For some reason it sits in the middle of the headset plastic and is very, very firmly wedged in place.

Overall the unboxing was simple, as you would expect and hope.

Connecting:

This thing is RIDICULOUS in how many systems you can connect it to, and I have to be honest, the cable management can be quite a pain. I will stress again that if you want the simpler solution, go for one of the wireless sets. If you, like me, want the absolute best sounding experience possible, you will make adjustments to your gaming to accommodate the XP Sevens.

How you connect this to the PS3 and 360 is exactly the same. As there is NO BLUETOOTH capability, everything is controlled via wires. To connect to the PS3/360 (simultaneous connections only possible if you use a receiver or TV with optical audio pass through!), you plug the optical audio out of your chosen system into the optical audio IN on the Console Interface box. Then you plug the included (and well labeled) USB to USB Micro cable, plug the micro end into the Console Interface box and the other end into the PS3/360.

Once that piece is connected, you plug the USB cable from the Audio Control Unit (ACU) into the USB port on the other side of the Console Interface box. There is also another multipin connector that comes from the ACU that must be connected to the Console Interface box (you can't plug it in wrong as it's the only connector on the box that looks like this).

After that, you plug the headphone jack size connector from the Headset Breakaway cable into the ACU. Then plug the other end into the breakaway connector on the headset.

If you want to be able to chat, just plug the mic into the mic jack on the headset.

At this point, if you are using a PS3, you are done connecting wires and cables. If you are using a 360 and want to chat, there's one more thing to do. Find the included TalkBack cable and plug the 90 degree end into your controller and the other end into the headphone jack with the Xbox 360 controller outline on the ACU. NOW you can chat with the 360.

Connecting to the PC is MUCH, MUCH simpler. Just take out the ACU, plug the USB cable into your Windows PC (or Mac) and let it load drivers. Plug the headset into the headphone on the ACU, then plug the breakaway cable into the headset and you're pretty much DONE. Chat is handled through the USB connection, so no other wires need to be run.

Comparing the PS3/360 setup on the XP Seven to the wireless X41, PX51 and XP400 headsets I have, this setup is simply a bear. The thing is, it's completely worth it given the quality of the sound compared to the other headsets. If this setup sounds like a pain to you, definitely look at the wireless headsets from TB. They are much simpler to use and setup.

Usage:

If you have a PS3, you will need to configure your audio devices. PS3 you can find the mic setup in PS3 Settings -> Accessory Settings -> Audio Device Settings -> Input/Output Device -> Turtle Beach SEVEN CHAT. Then you need to setup the 5.1 surround in Settings -> Sound Settings -> Audio Output Settings -> Optical Digital -> Dolby Digital 5.1. You also want to configure the Multi Audio Out option so that if you are using HDMI with optical, and want audio through HDMI (say you have your PS3 connected to a receiver to watch movies with family, etc), this needs to be configured. Settings -> Sound Settings -> Audio Multi-Output.

For the 360, open your Xbox Guide and head to Settings -> System Settings -> Console Settings -> Audio -> Digital Output and set this to Dolby Digital 5.1. Then head to Settings -> Preferences -> Voice -> Voice Output and set this to "Play through headset."

On a Windows PC/Mac, you don't need to worry about these settings.

This is where the ACU comes in. Once you are ready to play a game, you have a ton of options to choose from in terms of EQ. The best part is, unlike the XP400, X41 and PX51, every preset is available at the touch of one button. No more cycling through all of the presets to find the one you want (thought PX51 is nice in that you can set your MAIN presets and not need to cycle through either).

The presets for Games are (these presets match the Speaker presets, IF you are using speaker pass through on the PC/Mac):

1. Flat: Hear stereo game sound without effects processing or Dolby Surround Sound.

2. Bass Boost: Hear and feel the rumble of deeper bass sound effects.

3. Treble Boost: Boost high frequencies for crisper sounds and greater clarity.

4. Bass Boost + Treble Boost: Rumbling lows and pristine highs come through clearly.

5. Stereo Expander: Stereo processing with a 3D effect that allows you to focus on subtle audio cues.

6. Action Enhancer: Amplify intense sounds from weapons and explosions.

7. Footstep Focus: Focus on the sound of enemy footsteps approaching.

8. Superhuman Hearing: Boosts low volume sounds.

For Chat presets you have:

1. Flat: Straight chat with no processing.

2. Chat Focus: Boosts mid-range frequencies for greater concentration on chat.

3. Chat Expander: Widens the virtual sound field of chat.

4. Voice Amp: Amplifies chat volume.

5. Hi-Pitch Morph: Morph your voice into a high-pitch tone.

6. Lo-Pitch Morph: Bring your voice to demonic depths.

7. Robot: Transform your voice into a metallic sound.

8. Max Chat: Combines presets in an enhanced chat package

In terms of the descriptions of the presets, the PX51 and the XP Seven have the same presets. The difference is the audio quality itself. We'll get to that in the Sound Quality section though.

Compared to the X41 and XP400, their presets are simply anemic, clocking in at only 4 presets each. Though the X41 doesn't have any chat presets.

Sound Quality:

This is where the XP Seven beats the other headsets to a pulp. On the X41s, the sound in the headphones are very good. It's only able to process Dolby ProLogic II though. The PX51 and XP400 are both able to process true Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. The only issue here though (and this includes the X41s), is that the audio quality does suffer a little because of the wireless connection. What I find on the XP400 and PX51 is that there is a slight degradation in the in game speech. It seems there is some extra compression going on to allow the audio to be truly wireless. I don't hear this in the other game sounds or music, just in game voices. I will admit that on the PX51 the issue wasn't as pronounced and I could only hear it when I really concentrated, but it was still there. On these? There is no need to compress the audio to send via RF, so what you get is the straight digital audio in all of it's quality. This means that this headset just sounds absolutely incredible.

Another place the XP Seven shines is that you are able to control individual volume on specific channels. For example, say you want more pronounced stereo audio simply click a few buttons and turn the nob on the ACU and you can control JUST the front l/r and so on. The only thing that MIGHT be desired is the ability to control l/r audio separately for those that have worse hearing in one ear over the other. Maybe the next model will include that?

The surround separation on the XP Seven out of the box is phenomenal. Playing Gears of War Judgment, you can very, very clearly hear when someone is behind you, to your right, to your left or in front of you. Sure, you can achieve this with the XP400 and PX51, but I found out of the box the surround sound adjustments were pretty spot on. With the XP400 and PX51 I needed to make some adjustments to get it "good." Out of the box the XP Seven is what I would call "great." The X41 is no comparison, as you don't have any control over the surround mix.

The noise isolation of this set is on par with the XP400 and PX51. The X41s had a more open feel and let a lot more outside "noise" in. I can't tell you how many times my fiance has snuck up behind me and scared me witless. She doesn't mean to, but the sound is so well isolated in these headphones that it just happens.

CHAT SOUND:

In both 360 and PS3 chat, I am happy to say that the sound quality is very, very good. The others I've played with all report that the sound of my voice is as clear as can be expected. Sometimes the X41s had people complaining that I sounded "tinny" at times. The XP400 and PX51 sound just as good.

The Chat Presets are a little helpful, but aren't something I need to enhance. Volume of chat is controlled via a dial on the ACU. On one side you control the audio in your headset, on the other side you control the audible feedback you receive from your own voice. This latter piece is the same as it was, essentially, on the PX51 and XP400, so nothing new. And for those that don't like it, I recommend you turn it up "just" enough to get a little feedback from your own voice, as otherwise you WILL be talking really loud to your chat partners or someone who comes into the room to talk to you.

Battery-

This is where this headset also stands out. Being completely wired, there are NO batteries to replace. Ever. This is great.

Programmable:

In another bit of "awesome," the XP Seven has a fully programmable DSP, just as the PX51 and a few other headsets have before them. Programming it can be a little cumbersome, but in the programming you have the ability to control just about every aspect of the audio coming out of your headphones. It is definitely worth downloading the Turtle Beach program and documentation and reading up on it and trying it out. In this way you can configure the audio to be different for every single game. You can save presets to your computer and load them into the XP Seven at any time. You want Call of Duty to accentuate footsteps? Configure a preset for it. Want Uncharted 2 to accentuate bass and boom? Configure the preset the way you want it. The possibilities are endless, and given the community around this feature, you can also download other user's presets as well and try them out.

If you take the time to learn it, I think you might find you like having this level of control.

AND all this being said, I have to be honest. The presets included out of the box on the XP Seven are very, very good general presets that work on most games. So you don't HAVE to program your presets if you don't want.

Mobile:

One thing that the XP Seven can do is play music from your mobile device (phone, MP3 player, etc) while gaming. I tried it out and it's nice, but nothing astounding.

The other thing it can do, if your phone supports it, is talk through the headset on your phone as well. Because there is no Bluetooth included, this is accomplished through a cable you must plug into the headset and your phone. Audio quality on phone calls is good, and the included phone cable as a button on it so you can pick up the phone from close to the headset. You don't have to have the phone next to you to answer it.

The PX51 and XP400 really kick this in the pants simply because they are Bluetooth enabled. It is nice that Turtle Beach included it in this set though.

Overall:

The XP Seven, as long as you don't mind wired headphones, are nothing short of phenomenal. The sound quality is second to none (at least compared to other Turtle Beach sets). The surround sound truly feels like surround sound.

If you need wireless capability, definitely look elsewhere. I can't stress this enough.

Highly recommended.

Pros:

+Amazing sound quality

+True Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound (don't think it can decode DTS-MA from movies, though I haven't tried)

+Audio Presets can be set to defaults

+Audio Presets changeable at touch of a single button, no cycling through

+Can work with PC/Mac/PS3/360

+Fully programmable DSP

+Every control available from the ACU means you don't need to get up to adjust surround angles, unlike the PX51 and XP400s

+Comfortable (all my other Turtle Beach sets are as well, so this isn't a unique feature)

Cons:

-Expensive

-Wired means a tangle of wires, especially if you use PS3/360

-Programming DSP requires patience, effort and reading

EDITI experienced the same left speaker failure others have noted. I contacted Turtle Beach, sent my headset in and a few days later I had a brand new pair. I did have to pay return shipping. And for those wondering, there are differences. The cord on the headphone is different and the control module has less lights on it and feels a little sturdier. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do a side by side comparison on them.

Used with a 2011 Xbox 360 Standard and Halo 4.

Overall:

The sound quality, features, and comfort of this headset are incredible. The reliability, however, has become an issue within just a few hours of use.

Sound:

The sound is rich in detail and very immersive, not to mention noticeably better than the lower-end headsets like the Turtle Beach X12. As a recording artist and audio technician with studio experience, I have heard several high-end studio headphones and monitors, and although this may not be an ideal pair of neutrally-set cans for mixing, it is definitely clear, accurate, and loud enough to make a severe difference in any competitive game. I find myself paying much more attention to sound cues like gunshots, footsteps, and weapon drops now that I can actually pinpoint the direction they are coming from. Having a noise-canceling headset has made this much easier for me than it was when my Xbox's sound was playing through my Sony BDVN790W 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound system.

Features:

The headset has more than enough features for the typical gamer. Adjustments can quickly and easily made for mic monitoring, chat volume, game volume, presets, voice changer, etc. Presets like "footstep enhancer" and features like the voice changer work well and exactly as described. The directional volumes can be adjusted as well. For example, you can turn up the volume of the back speakers more than the front ones if you want to hear sounds behind you more easily to prevent being snuck up on.

Comfort:

The comfort is outstanding with the memory foam; the ergonomic design allows the headphones to wrap around one's head snugly. A word of WARNING: If you have a considerably large head, this headset may fit too tightly to be very comfortable.

Reliability:

This head was released on February 5, 2013, and with overnight shipping, arrived at my house on February 6th. I have only used it for a few hours total during 3 nights within this last couple days. The left earcup's sound began cutting out last night so I had to uncomfortably put the cable attaching the headset to the audio control unit between my head and the headband just to get sound on both sides before the left side stopped working completely. I have already ordered an exchange through Amazon for a brand new one in the hopes that this one was a lemon. No $300 headset should begin cutting out within a few hours of use, especially if its target market is competitive gamers and tournament players, many of whom play for prizes and cash.

Conclusion:

Although the headset I originally ordered has stopped working, the high-quality experience I was enjoying before the headset failed has me willing to give it another chance. I thoroughly hope that I received a lemon and that the reliability will no longer be an issue since this headset has helped me gain a huge advantage when playing Xbox Live multiplayer while providing me professional game-changing sound quality, a wide palette of easy-to-use features, and a high level of comfort.

UPDATE (February 19, 2013)

I've discovered a new problem. When I plug the charging cable into my wireless controller while it is connected to the XP7, there is an intolerable buzzing that even other people in my Xbox Live party can hear.

Overall: The sound and build quality of this headset are amazing, and the ACU is feature rich with incredible custimization.

Initial Impressions: The packaging that the headphones come in is pretty impressive, though not quite Astro level packaging-it does come in a magnetic box the the headset and input box cradled in a plastic shell, and the ACU and cables within their own respective boxes for storage. The headset themselves however have a definite wow factor when you see them.

Sound: I can't praise the sound of these headsets enough, my previous headset before these were TB PX21s that I used in conjunction with an Astro Mixamp, and the difference in sound quality is amazing. I have also compared the XP Sevens to my friends Astro A40 2013s, and Sennheiser PS360s, and the XP Sevens sounds better then the A40s, and on par with the PC360s. The sound on these is very rich and has an excellent balance of lows/mids/highs, every single sound can be made out in detail and clarity. These headsets are able to separate sound cues very precisely, and I have already noticed that I am able to differentiate exactly which direction gunshots, footsteps and explosions are coming from. Also, if you have these hooked up to your PC for listening to music, they are just as amazing, I prefer these over even my Klipsch headphones for music now.

Mic: The mic and adjustable voice monitoring settings of this headset are very high quality. My friends all say that my voice is crystal clear and it sounds a lot better then any other mic I have used. Though as a side note, they also said that my voice sounds almost modulated (digital sound) to it as well, which my old ones didn't sound like. This isn't a bad thing, it's just different apparently, and after I played around with the mic settings in the Advanced Sound Editor, I was able to reduce it.

Features: The most feature packed part of this headset is the ACU, with 8 sub presets for game audio, and 8 for chat, along with customization for the surround sound speaker angles, you can't really compare this to any other unit on the market right now (except the Creative Recon3D sound processor). Also, if you have the ACU's USB hooked into your pc, you can literally change sound preset settings on the fly (while your playing!) instantly via the Advanced Sound Editor tool for the headset. I give props to Turtle Beach on this control unit, it is superb! Oh, and another great part in my opinion-this headset can be used with any console, and you can have your computer hooked up to it, and your phone/tablet as well.

Comfort: The comfort of these headphones is very nice with the memory foam ear cups, though I wish that the material that covers the driver housing was a bit thicker, as I find after prolonged wear, the memory foam pushes down to the point where my ear is pushing against the thin material and causes a bit of discomfort.

Tip for those who buy this: When you first start using this headset, you may noticed that quiet sounds will cause audio to drop out and not play every now and then until a louder sound is played. Fret not, this is because the sound threshold setting in the Advanced Sound Editor is set alittle too high. All you have to do is hook the ACU up to your computer, click on the game preset tab for the current preset selected, and turn the threshold setting down, and voila! No more sound cutting out.

Overall I think this is an incredible headset and it is fully worth the $280. Turtle Beach did a great job on these and it lives up its "tournament level" status, as well as the audiophile status the company was known for in their PC sound card days. Keep up the good work TB!

Want Ear Force M Seven Mobile Headset - PlayStation Vita Discount?

Dont get me wrong i love this headset when it is working properly. I wonder though wide spread the defect problems with these are and if my replacement headset will have the same issues. My headset also seems to have gotten the squeaking plastic problem that was described at the end of the top review as well as the left earpiece going dead unless u hold the wire a certain way as described in the worst review so far. I really really want to like these so I am hopping the is just a fluke but only time will tell.

Update 5/17

so now i am going to lower my review to 1 star due to the fact that the replacement set has done the exact same thing and lost audio in the left ear cup.

looking around today it seems that a ton of people are having this problem. I just wish turtle beach would make an official statement and let everyone know if it is an issue that has be corrected or if they have even acknowledged that it exist.

I really want to like these headphones so i am getting a replacement instead of a refund. Hopefully third time is a charm.

Great design. Well built. Holds the following: Up to 4 pairs of Drumsticks, Microphone, Game Disc, with some spare room left over. Great for travel. I'm a youth pastor, and transport RB2 back and forth to our youth meetings. This is a great way to keep everything in one place while the kids are playing Rock Band. I'd also recommend the guitar cases from MadCatz.

NOTE: This case is not designed to hold a guitar! I'd recommend the Guitar Coffin Case if you're looking to protect your guitar controller. This is just for the sticks, mic, and accessories.

Much better in person! I love the skull & crossbones printed on the outside. This is probably large enough to use as a stick bag for a real drum kit. It is just a bit smaller because of the tapered shape at the bottom.

The zipper pockets are a little small, but the Rock Band and Guitar Hero mics will fit in them. However, the case won't zip closed if I put them both in. This isn't a big deal as I can probably hang it off of the tabs at the top of the kits, but thought I'd mention it.

Looking for a safe way to transport my high quality Rode NT1A Vocal Condenser Microphone I took a small risk and purchased this case from Amazon. (I was extremely lucky because it was on sale for $8 when I ordered it!) It has done a great job keeping my mic safe. I also keep a very long cable for my mic as well as my Icicle XLR to USB Mic Converter/Mic Preamp so this thing has been great! Nice red padding and durable zipper as shown in the image.

this stick case is awesome!

absolutely beautiful! the skull design on the outside is excellent. the "coffin case" tag on the outside is actually a cool lil metal plate! the fabric on the inside is even brighter in person which i love!

i had seen a case similar to this one on another web site for like $30! i was so glad when i found this one for $11 :-) I use it exclusively for drum sticks.

A great way to keep our cats away from the microphone cord/drumsticks when we're home. Makes it easy to "take the band on the road" too. The only negative I see is that the inside corners of the picket flaps are both semi-permanently bent due to the design of the case, but it's really, really not a big deal. I know what they were thinking with the strings, but I don't think they're needed/work I'll probably cut them off once I confirm that they're as useless as I think they are. Anyways, fun item!

Buzz! Quiz TV was my introduction to Buzz Quiz. I fully enjoyed that game and found it to be perfect for parties, family events or having fun when I feel like playing a game that uses my knowledge against opponents rather than my virtual bullets. This year, Buzz! Quiz World has come along and instantly taken the place of Quiz TV.

Buzz! Quiz World

9/10

The Good:

+ Slick new presentation with improved visuals all around.

+ Player Profiles allows individual stat keeping.

+ Much improved online gameplay over Quiz TV.

+ Cimpatibe with Quiz TV Quiz Pack DLC.

+ The categories are improved and many new game types.

+ Customizeable game types allows you to pick your rounds.

+ Buzz is less repetitive in his remarks, yet every bit as cheeky.

The Bad:

Characters from Quiz Tv seem to be absent.

Still no custom character editor.

Only features English, no Spanish or French language options.

Buzz! Quiz world does what few games can do Please all ages and types of gamers and non gamers at once. I have played an 8-player game with children, teens, twenty-somethings like myself and older adults. Buzz! managed to pull everyone in so we were all crying foul as the current winner answered correctly. It is so perfect for anyone that likes socializing.

With Quiz world, many of my complaints with the Quiz TV have been addressed. For starters, you can now customize what rounds you play. Don't like the pie round? Now you can turn it off to make a custom game suitable to the group playing. Many people I play with complain about the Final Countdown round (which now plays the titular song by Europe) and you can even cut that out. Quiz World also features several new rounds such as Boilng Point, which gives the points to the first player to answer six correct questions.

Buzz now personally addresses player by asking you to pick from a list of names. It goes a long way and makes it feel more like you really are in the game and Buzz is more than just a virtual muppet. Also, this allows tracking of individual profiles, and Buzz remembers your tendencies. For example Buzz said to Kevin, one player who is frequently winning but had fallen into 4th, "Kevin, good to see you back at the top where you belong" after he had regained the lead in one round.

It's many of these small little details that really adds to the longevity and overall fun a game offers. At the end of every game, Accolades are given. It reports who was the fastest buzzer, who had the most right answers (which doesn't always equate to a win), who had the least and who got to pick the most categories just to name a few.

An 8 player game of Buzz! Quiz is a great experience, but Quiz TV had made it lite on rounds and features. Thankfully, Quiz World now allows full games for 8 players too, whereas Quiz TV only had 3 round 8 player games. This may not sound important, but it really does make the game more interesting to have it more than 3 round if you 'd like. Now you won't have 7 other people surprised the game is over already.

Another area where Quiz World shine is the online mode. You can now play with 1-4 people on the same PS3! In Quiz TV 4 people could play, but would all control the same character. Quiz World gives everyone control over their own character and allows up to 8 players to play online on multiple PS3s, or 2 if you have 4 players on each one. Of course, it still features My Buzz quizzes so you can create and share your own custom trivia packs.

The only thing I would like to see Buzz! add is more characters to choose from, or even better the ability to use PSN Home avatars or create your own character to use. There needs to be more characters for practical reasons too. In the instance that you have 5 females players or more, some will have to choose a male character. It's a minor gripe, but something they could have easily remedied by at least including all the characters from Quiz Tv. Where are Cave Girl and Disco Man?

Overall, Quiz World is much improved and a worthwhile purchase for Quiz TV owners and those new to Buzz. You will most certainly be happy with. For those like me who had a Quiz Tv, this is a nice upgrade that will be thourughly enjoyed!

The buzzers, both wired or wireless, are required! I found out the hard way. The product description is confusing and lead me to believe they "might" work with wireless controllers. I assumed it was the PS3 wireless controllers but they are referring to the wireless buzzers. I didn't know this and now I do.

I have not played the game yet so don't know if it's fun or not.

This version picks up where the last leaves off. Its not perfect, but it is more difficult than the first. The questions aren't as straight forward which makes them more challenging. The end credits actually do serve a quite entertaining purpose.

I have played the older version of buzz with my friends many times. We find this newer version of buzz to be more fun, we didn't know about the new features where the host will say your name and that there would be new types of games. I recommend this to anyone who has tried the first buzz game or anyone who has heard of buzz. It's a blast!

We received this at Christmas and have played it multiple times with 4 people. There is a lot of laughter and all of us (even our youngest player 9 yrs) had a blast. My only complaint is that we could use more "Buzzers" and you can't purchase them separately.

Okay, I am defiantly NOT a gamer but my boyfriend of two years is a big gamer. I spend alot of time just watching him play his games but maybe 3 months ago his Sony controller started messing up so while he was shooting zombie Nazis or whatever it would make him die, needless to say he was not happy.

Well, I said its okay I'll buy him one. I love him with all of my heart but I jut cannot spend an upwards of $50 dollars on a damn game controller!!!

So, I did a little amazon research and I stumbled upon this beauty! I was astonished by the price! Not to mention it was pink! (: I bought it not expecting much and expecting it to come in about a month since it ships over seas and I live in Texas but it came in about three days! I was sooo excited to give it to him; he wasn't even bothered that it was pink! Perfect condition! In a box and everything! And it felt the EXACT same as the Sony controller!

Also, mine didn't have the extra metal the gentleman before me is talking about. The joysticks work when you press them down, uses the same USB cable, even has six-axis and it vibrates! The only other thing I would add, he says it's a little more sensitive than the Sony controller. So don't jump right into your game; give yourself some time to get use to it.

Overall, I am 100% satisfied! I just might have to come back for a his and her pair! (:

Hoped this helped!

The new remastered Worms Collection is a fantastic tribute to all the best Worms games. I remember playing these years ago and had forgotten how fun they are. It's cool to have them all together in one disc, too. My kids have now been introduced to one of my favorite games as a teenager and they love them just as I did/do. A great value for loads of fun. Best purchase this year. :) :)

I played the original Worms years ago and already downloaded 1 of the 3 games included in this collection. This is one of my all time favorites and getting all three games plus the extra DLC is a great value. My teenage son has played for just a little while and watching him laugh out load was great to see.

Oh, boy, was this game a huge disappointment. We tried games #1 and #3 so far. Both were abysmally bad.

The graphics on #1 put the tutorial instructions off the border / side of the screen when displayed on HDTV. There is no option on the PS3 to change this. Basically, the instructions on what to do are unreadable. Maybe this could be fixed by changing to standard definition (or maybe not). The game play itself is so simplistic that the manufacturer should blush for charging in today's market. In coop mode, two players have groups of worms and take turn firing weapons. You slowly select a weapon, fire, wait for primitive graphics, and then hand over the controller. Yawn. Everything is flat-screen 2D animation from ten years ago.

Game #2 the graphics show shadows & depth, 3D not in the sense of a 3D display but rather from the modern cartoons. You play one worm at a time, and that worm can move left & right & in & out of the screen. The worm moves about the rate you'd expect of a worm--ridiculously slowly. The worm goes around picking up weapons, slowly selects one weapon, fires somewhere (typically at an enemy worm), the you wait impatiently for animations. There are funny jokes during the animation, but also a lot of just waiting for no apparent reason while the system sits there. With most weapons, every time you want to fire, you need to pull up the weapon-select menu, navigate slowly from the "home" position, select the weapon, then you can focus and fire. Basically there is way, way, way too much waiting and way, way, way too slow of a pace.

Save your money. There are way better games out there. My suggestions for the PS3 coop games are LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition Playstation 3 and Little Big Planet 2.

I went with this product because I wanted something versatile, compact and not "flashy". First on flashy; many of the other options I found had the big blue charging lights that light up the room. Now I love that techno-blue color as much as anyone, but come on I just want something to charge my controllers and not have a distracting glow. This unit does just that, no extra lights to show charging, just the regular blinking lights on the controllers will tell you the charging status. The one thing I missed or didn't notice in the product description is that you can only charge 1 of each navigator and PS move controller at a time. The front slot is shaped for the nav and the back is for the PS move. You can charge Dualshock/Sixaxis controllers in either/both of these spots.

For the Dualshock/Sixaxis controllers, you need to clip on an adapter (2 supplied with unit). The adapter fits on snug enough that you can actually just leave it on your controller at all times. It blends well look of the black controller and does not hinder play. Then when it is time to charge, you just drop it into one of the 2 slots.

The only tiny issue I find here is when looking at the unit straight on and you are charging a PS move controller, there is a little tab that sticks up in front of the back charging bay that blocks the view of the charging light on the PS Move controller. The tab is actually what holds a Dualshock/sixaxis controller in place for the back charging spot. Likewise, the Dualshock/Sixaxis controllers are facing away from the front of the unit and you may not see that charging light looking from the front. Personally, I have no problem with it as I typically put my controllers in to charge overnight and don't care to constantly know if the light stopped blinking. If you need that kind of reinforcement, turn the unit slightly to the side, or go for one of those big blue glowing things...

In summary, a great product and solution for charging 2 controllers at once. This is powered by an AC adapter, so no USB port is taken up.

The following is what I said before returning it only to discover there was nothing wrong other than my confusion about how to insert the move and about the lights.:

This would have been a very usable item if it would have lasted more than 3 uses. I would have said it was poorly constructed before it broke but now that would be redundant. The move charger is no longer doing anything but the six axis charger still works thus the 2 rating.

There is a lot of appeal to this unit. You can charge two controllers at the same time, and it can be either the standard controller, the move controller or navigation controller. Very compact, and does not need to charge on or near the PS3. The controllers snap into place with a secure hold. At least, they are supposed to. The top spot snapped in fine for a couple days, but the bottom one never fully clicked into place. If it doesn't click in, it does not stay in, so it does not charge. After just a couple uses, the prongs to click into become too loose, and it's thin plastic, so there was no adjusting without risk of snapping. I did contact the company, and they were no help and did not seem to care when they finally responded via email. They just told me to return it. So, I did. With Amazon's hassle free return policy.

The original Motion Sports was released about a year ago for the Kinect. The concept sounded great--simulate real sports, and use realistic graphics to immerse the player in the game. And instead of using controllers, allow players to control the action with their body. Great concept, but the execution on the Xbox just fell short. By virtually all accounts it was underwhelming.

This year, Ubisoft is at it again, but instead they've released MotionSports Adrenaline for the PS3, Wii, and Xbox. Their focus this time is on six "extreme sports".

As you start each activity, you choose whether you're left handed or right handed, and then calibrate your Move controller by holding it at shoulder level, at hip level, and across your belt line, just like with Sports Champions. The controller accuracy and precision, not surprisingly, is pretty good. I wish I could say the same about the gameplay itself.

Here's my take on each "extreme sport":

1) Kite Surf: Here, you're kite-surfing. You hold the Move controller sideways (you only need one) and you "steer" by tilting your hands as if you're steering a wheel. You jump by holding the "T" button and raising your arms. You can get a speed boost by holding the "T" button and pushing forward. You can "strike poses" at various points (which they call "hitting tricks") and you can "collect coins" to earn points.

While the graphics were decent and the motion controls were responsive enough, it just didn't feel like a realistic experience. I was expecting more of a realistic "simulation", but but at the end of the day it just felt like a video game that I may as well have been playing with the Dualshock controller, as the Move controllers just didn't feel natural at all.

2) Mountain Bike: Here, you're mountain biking, but the controls for steering, jumping, and accelerating are exactly the same as with Kite Surfing. In fact, except for one part where you need to "steer" your bike through a tight turn they're essentially the same game. Again, the best way I can describe it is that it felt like a "video game", but between the controls, the physics, and various gimmicks like "collecting stars", it really draw me into the experience nor make me feel like I was immersed in the world of mountain biking.

3) Wingsuit: In this game, you're skydiving. The controls are slightly different for this one-you steer by holding your Move controller out to the side and tilting your body left or right. You can "drift up" by holding the "T" button and raising both your arms, and "draft down" by lowering both your arms. To speed up, you press the Move button. You have to contend with wind gusts and rock formations, and again you can collect points by striking poses and collecting coins.

This game lasted far, far too long and once again, and yet again something about the controls and the physics of the game was off and unrealistic. To be honest, even the silly "flying chicken" game in Wii Fit felt more like "real flying" than this did.

4) Climbing: This is a rock climbing "simulation". You're climbing the face of a mountain that happens to have "handholds" all over it. To climb, you grab onto a handhold by reaching out to it with your Move controller (whether to the side, or diagonally up) and making a "grabbing" motion. Some handholds will be out of reach, so you need to "flick" the controller to jump to them. To drop down to a lower handhold, you press the Move button.

This is one I really wanted to like, but at the end of the day the "flicking" really didn't feel like real rock climbing, plus half the time my motions wouldn't register properly.

I guess they wanted to add a little "excitement" to the game so there will be the occasional "earthquake", where if you have enough "adrenaline" stored up, you can press the "T" button for a "shield" which will protect you from them. Again, I didn't find the experience very realistic.

And worst of all, once you reach the top, you're not even rewarded with a view.

5) Skiing: I've been pretty harsh on all the games so far, but I found skiing to be the one bright spot of the game. Finally, I felt like I was really skiing. The controls were intuitive-you hold your Move controller in front of your like it's a ski pole and bend your body left or right to ski downhill. You can accelerate by intuitively pressing T and pushing the pole.

This is one I really enjoyed, as everything worked together-the graphics, the physics, and the intuitive controls. I even broke a sweat while playing. I only wish the others were more like it.

6) Kayak: With Kayaking, we're back to a rather unfulfilling experience. Again, the controls just don't feel very natural. You use the "steering wheel" method of steering. You can paddle by pressing the "T" button and moving your control like a paddle. But you can't do both at the same time (like you'd do in real kayaking). There are other oddities-you'll occasionally get swept into a whirlwind, and to escape you need to "strike a pose". Again, things like this kind of detract from the realism.

Here's a problem I have with all the games in general. With the exception of skiing, they just didn't feel realistic. For most of the games your on-screen character just seems to proceed on the course without any kind of effort from you, the only thing you really do is jump and steer to collect "coins". In this sense, it just feels more like a 3-D version of Pac-Man than an "extreme sports simulation".

To me, the whole point of calling this franchise "MotionSports" is to help us experience what playing the real sport must feel like. As I mentioned a couple times, for most of the sports the controls just weren't realistic and it almost feels like the game was designed for a Dualshock controller and the Move controller was just thrown on as an afterthought, and not a very good one at that. For example, instead of making me press the T button and throwing my arms up to make me jump, why couldn't they just--make me jump?

Something else I didn't really like were unrealistic gimmicks in the game such as striking poses and collecting coins. To me, it just felt like the developers knew their simulations weren't very good, so they added these things to make it feel like you're accomplishing something. I wish there were more simulation games like Sports Champions, where your reward is playing the sport itself, not collecting points.

Finally, one very, very annoying part of the game is the Degree ads all over the game. I don't mind a little product placement when it's subtle and even tongue-in-cheek, but if a company is going to get a sponsor to plaster their logo all over the game, then for heaven's sake don't charge $49.99 for the game.

I hate to say it, but I just can't recommend MotionSports Adrenaline. If you're a die-hard fan of any of the sports, you may enjoy the graphics and the concept of being able to somewhat simulate the sport. But from a "fun" perspective, with the exception of the skiing game I really didn't find any of the games compelling enough to even play more than once or twice. There wasn't even very much of a workout component, something I was really hoping for when I first picked up the game.

In short, what could have been a innovative foray in the world of virtual reality sports just ended up being just another tired video game that happens to support motion controls. Here's hoping that if there's a third version of MotionSports, Ubisoft spends more time investing in making it more realistic and immersive.

This game consists of moving characters along 3+ horizontal tracks to advance, along with exciting moves like 'throw your hands up to jump', and 'throw your hands forward to boost'. Even children are too discerning to voluntarily spend their time doing this. The lack of precision in controller response will make you consider sending it to an enemy as a cruel prank.

Bad Ubisoft! No!

I rented this game and I'm actually finding it fun so far. At $50, you'd be getting ripped off. At $16 (the price it's at while I'm writing this review), it's worth it. Kite surfing, wind suit jumping and skiing are the most fun. I also enjoy the mountain biking although it's somewhat tough to get gold in all events and kayaking is fun too. The only event I really hate is the rock climbing. When I "flick" my joystick to climb, about 25% of the time the game doesn't respond meaning I can't get a gold medal on any of the climbs so far.

From a trophy hunter's perspective, the game is easy. I'd advise against renting it because there are some trophies that may take you up to 7 days because of how unpopular the game is but I mean if you're on Amazon, you're likely looking to buy anyway. The game is by no means going to blow you away. I'm however quite entertained with it and although climbing is annoying, all the other events are quite fun and the game is very easy to pick up on. I haven't even tried it with the move controllers yet, just the dualshock. There's a bit of replay value in the game, trying to beat your scores and such but eventually you're going to set scores you can't beat and there's only 2-3 different courses for each event so you're fairly limited there. The game provides about 10-15 hours of enjoyment so at about $1/hour of enjoyment, it's worth it in my opinion. Plus if you buy now and you don't like it, you can likely get about what you paid for it back because it's still fairly new.

In conclusion, nothing special but it's a good time killer. Somewhat entertaining, around $15-$20 is the sweet spot for the price however I wouldn't be surprised to see this drop to sub-$10 range within the next 6 months. Fairly easy trophies, co op mode for friends and family, playstation move compatible, all around it's not bad.

I have a Logitech Pro Wheel, an HDTV, the whole set up, and I am a HUGE NASCAR fan.

This is probably the most disappointing game I have ever played. It is a complete disaster. The only possible way that anyone can enjoy this game is if they have never played another racing game in their life.

It constantly freezes. It has frozen three times for me today while trying to play online. I hit join game, and the PS3 freezes. It is infuriating.

The graphics are abysmal. Compare this game to GT5 prologue; it is an absolute joke. You cannot see things until they are right up on you, the resolution is awful; this looks like a PS2 game, IF THAT.

Jeff Gordon is constantly talking to you, it gets incredibly annoying.

Load times are incredibly long; go to the bathroom while the next screen is loading, come back and wait some more.

The setups are completely impossible to figure out; if you want racing but do not want to spend 40 hours trying to figure out the best setup for each track, forget about competing online.

But when you do finally get your car handling correctly and take it online, for one, there will always be someone with a car much better than yours (and you will never be able to figure out how to catch him), and two, there is always the sound of a pre-school class full of kids in the background with a microphone, wrecking everyone in the back. The competition is just awful, the other players are a joke. I think the reason for this is that serious simulation racers laugh at EA NASCAR games and go straight to NR2003 or something. Do not expect any good competition; towards the front, it is nothing but a battle of setups from what I have seen anyways, not much real racing going on.

Do not buy this game. You may feel the need to buy the only NASCAR game available, but this is not worth your time. It is a monopoly at its worst, an absolute utter waste of $ and an insult to us as humans that this is our only option. Shame on NASCAR for letting a terrible company like EA buy exclusive rights to making their game.

I want a good NASCAR game on my PS3; I want it desperately, but it looks like I am never going to get it.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue gives you a better NASCAR racing experience. Racing Daytona on that game and compare it to Daytona on NASCAR 09; not even close, it is night and day.

Do not buy this game.

Well I was waiting for this years installment to come out to write a NASCAR review, but that's not going to happen any time soon. This game was a must buy for me because I buy it every year. NASCAR 08 was terrible in my opinion and I hoped that EA would change their way of thinking this year. By far this game exceeds the previous installment. The actual racing is nicely refined, giving veterans of the series a more challenging experience while still giving the rookie a chance. There is an opening race where you set up your skill level, actually the game provides its estimate of what you should pick, I chose the veteran driver setting, but if you're a rookie I advise you don't choose it. The game play is fast and furious. Even if you've found the perfect set up for a track and saved the next time around the track will change and you're back to square one just like in real life. I wish they had a tutorial for the setups to help me adjust my car better. I simply adjust air pressure, wedge, and the track bar the rest of the set up is a mystery to me. The career mode is lacking though. There is really no interaction with the team you chose. You can't communicate with team mates or even see who your teammates are. There are no driver changes; everyone is the same every year. There is no trophy room to see your hard earned possessions. The contracts are stupid; a team dropped me a three time champion because I didn't qualify in the top 20 one race. You also can't run more than one series at a time you have to choose which one to run at the beginning of the season. Also I liked in previous years where you could build up your garage and team, and even price your own merchandise. All that has been taken away, you can't even check your stats for the previous year. Come on EA what were you thinking in the career mode. Overall the only choice right now and the game play is smooth enough, but the lack of split-screen still pisses me off.

PresentationThe game has an interactive Jeff Gordon to talk to you as you progress through your career which is nice. The music is a mix of country and rock to accommodate both music groups. The ability to save and watch your replays is nice. 4.5/5

GraphicsIt's the same every year. They get a little better. There is nice dirt on your screen when you go through the grass. The damage element needs to be more elaborate, you can't really tear up your car that much. The normal cars look great, but your created cars are missing the nice polished look the other drivers have. The inside camera view is very well done. The stats you can out on while driving really help you adjust the car, though they hurt the realism of the game, I love the tire wear gauges. 4.3/5

Game playThe overall driving is a lot of fun. You actually feel like your driving a stock car. There are a few problems, like the super speedways. If you start 1st you will pull away and never look back, which doesn't happen in real life. The cars actually handle like real cars and don't always make the corner. You have to be precise in this game because like in real NASCAR if you mess up you're going to be in the wall. It has a simulator feel to it unlike any previous game in the franchise. 4.7/5

StoryThe career is bare bones and has a lot of problems that I have stated above. The racing really brings you back not the career itself. I've finished 6 seasons and I'm beginning my seventh. It's nice to have a career to keep you playing, but it should have been better developed. 3.5/5

Lasting AppealThis game has kept my interest for two years now as I await Gran Tourismo 5 which will have NASCAR as one of its series. There is a lack of career options, but it is fun to race and I love this game despite its flaws. 5/5

The VerdictIf you like NASCAR I recommend this game whole heartily. It will be a long time until someone makes a full forced NASCAR game again. GT5 will have the NASCAR series, but its not the focus of the game. This game was a huge leap over NASCAR 08. If you don't mind bad graphics I recommend either NASCAR Thunder 2004 or NASCAR 06: Total Team Control, they have the whole package for their time. NASCAR 09 was a nice effort, lets just hope its not the last. Overall 4.4/5

Buy Nascar 09 Now

If driving a real NASCAR is anything like the video game, then it should be noted that I would clearly leave it to the professionals. 42 Cars are doing nearly 200 mph bumper to bumper and the 43rd car is all over the place. Causing wreck. After wreck. After wreck.

This might be the case where the game is SO realistic that it takes a real NASCAR driver (with the right virtual set up and a steering wheel) to be competitive.

I'm not, and I'm more than just the casual fan.

As bad as I am and as hard as the game is, I still enjoy trying. I've reserved myself to knowing I can never finish ahead of last on anything more difficult that a Rookie setting.

If you have read any of my past reviews, I have been a vocal critic of EA's NASCAR titles and how unrealistic they have been. For the past few years, I rented them ONLY and found myself disappointed. I finally gave in again and bought NASCAR 09 for my PS3.

I must say I am impressed with some of the new features that I have seen. I love the inclusion of Jeff Gordon and the removal of Agent Ace Moneymaker...what an annoyance he was. The controls are better, the graphics look good and crisp and I love the ability to look around left, right, and behind using the analog stick.

So, here are my PROS:

1. Saw some new features, like the "lucky dog" during a race.

2. Love the new paintbooth and the ability to copy cars from your PC to PS3 from Photoshop, etc.

3. Importing your own driver photo.

4. 2 handling modes for varying skill drivers.

5. Inclusion of Jeff Gordon as your mentor.

6. Great new challenge mode.

7. Online play with up to 12 persons.

8. The new "reputation" meter.

and on the other hand, the CONS....

1. Glitchy online play (but understandable early on).

2. Freezes occasionally between menus.

3. Still has unrealistic accidents and lack of AI cars blowing engines, having wrecks, etc.

4. Limit of 12 cars in online play.

5. No prerace ceremonies, activities that add realism and flair to the game.

All in all though, I am happy with this game and think it's a very worthy purchase if you are a NASCAR or racing fan in general. Props, EA !! But don't stop now, keep those improvements coming for NASCAR 2010 !!

This is by far the worst racing game I ever played. Although the graphics are great, the gameplay is awful. I much rather play 08 on PS2. The biggest thing for me is no bump drafting. If you get behind another car and try to push them they lock the brakes and both of you go to the back.

There are lots of other problems as well. I couldn't help but feel like the developer has never even seen a nascar race. Forced myself to play 6 hours hoping it would get grow on me. Finally I gave up and haven't played it since. I've had it almost a month now.
