I won mine at a tourney raffle, lucky. but for 349.99 i couldn't justify. the vlx is preeeeetty much a chain saw cutting off the official sf4 cabinets joystick. but if you have the money i guess buy this. since it's limited edition and sfxt is so hype right now its going for double its value. as time goes on expect 500 $ asking prices. at the end of the day the sfxt stick is a round 2 TE with better graphics/artwork and a sloped edge to help not hurt your wrist as much. a round 2 TE goes for 140$ on here. if art work sloped edge and exclusivety are worth an additional 150-200$ it up to you. sanwa comes in all TE sticks.

First let me say that this is only my second headset, the other is the TB X12 which I highly recommend too.

My TB X12 feel more resistant to falls and everything. I'd say these are solid, and since I am the kind of guy who takes care of his things and treat them nicely I am sure I won't have any problems with these. Now, if you are the kind of person who throws their stuff like it is garbage then you are probably going to break them in less than a year. ADVANTAGE X12 BUT TRITTONS LOOK WAY SEXIER.

I like how they look but I'd love them even more if they were black as the Warheads (why do them white when the Xbox and PS3 are black??)

Sound Quality

At first it was a bit hard to hear footsteps (in CoD and Halo) thanks to the high bass and high environmentt sound (explosions sound great), but after a few days I got used to it and started to hear the footsteps, and with the surround sound I could tell where the enemies were, much better than the X12, ADVANTAGE TRITTON

Note: YES, there is a buzzing noise but seriously I am kind of picky and somewhat hard to satisfy but IMO this ISN'T a big problem, once the game starts you won't notice it.

If you have a big head you may want to look elsewhere, I have a slightly bigger head than the average person and I had to fully extend them to fit me. For me the comfort is great, feels good. ADVANTAGE TRITTON

A bit sensitive, it does register my breathing but all you have to do is twist the mic a little and put it facing your chin and the breathing is gone. If they had added that cover they put on mics I would have give them 10/10. ADVANTAGE X12

Some other things

It is great that it comes with 2 cables for the Xbox controller, in case one fails.

Hearing yourself in this... it is a bit loud, specially if you laugh, not a big problem since you can turn it off.

After getting used to the headset I gotta say I am pretty happy with it and I highly recommend them. If you have the money go for it, this is the best you can get under $150.

This review might be a little disorganized but I'll just tell you guy's my likes and dislikes.

I've tried out a variety of different gaming headphones for the last two years. Just with Tritton and Turtle Beach. I'm a serious gamer. I game A LOT. Before I had these, I had the Turtle Beach PX5. They're wireless which is nice but also sucks. I had rechargeable batteries but it seemed like during a game of Search and Destroy in Modern Warfare 3 or in Gears of War 3, I'd have to replace my batteries. It sucked. I had those for about 6 months. So I looked for a pair of nice, wired gaming headphones that I wouldn't have to worry about changing batteries all the time. And that's exactly what I found.

The sound on the Tritton 720+ is great. It's not as good as the PX5, but you get what you pay for. I LOVE the bass in these. It helps add effect to when you're playing. The explosions rumble, or when your playing Forza Horizon, the music sounds great along with the car sounds and effects too. I find it hard at times to hear people who are talking on Xbox Live. The sound that comes out of the chat sounds a little cheap for when people talk. I also find the mic to be a little too sensitive. If you make a little sound, people can hear it. I also have a tower fan going next to me to keep me cool and I keep it on low but yet from about 3 feet away it still picks it up. I had no problem with my Turtle Beaches when I had my fan going.

The comfort for these are great. I wear glasses so wearing my Turtle Beaches after an hour or so started to hurt the side of my head from the Beaches pushing my glasses. I wore them for 5 hours + and had no problems with any discomfort, but I do feel almost as if its made for a smaller head. I wear about a 7 1/8 hat size and these fit me perfectly. The adjustments on these seem to not stay in place at times. When I adjust it on my head and wear them, I really don't have this problem. But if you take them off, the weight from each side seems to weigh down the adjustments and I always find my self having to readjust them.

Overall, I really do love the headphones but there are some minor flaws. Sound is great. Comfort is amazing and I would still recommend these to people. I would like to see these to be a bit cheaper.

UPDATE 12-22-12:

I still love this headset but a few days ago, the right ear went out. I've only had it for 6 weeks, which is pathetic considering I had numerous pairs of other gaming headsets and had no problems with any other headset. I do take really good care of my gear, especially if I'm dropping $150+ on a gaming headset. To me, it's just a designer flaw. The adjustable volume piece will fall down from the weight of it, pushing/ tearing the cord that connects to your headset and it slowly did that with my headset. I still think this headset is great but now I'm highly disappointed because of what causes this to happen. I would wait to buy this headset to see if they fix this problem. I've never tried them, but around Christmas I'm going to be buying the Astro A40s because I've heard a lot of good things about them.

I had an old version of 720 and I loved it. Now it was time for an upgrade and I got this headset. Sound on this set is just great, I think it is better that the old version. Also, they are more comfortable than the original 720.

I think for the money it might be the best headset on the market.

If you've xbox 360, dont buy coz, Xbox one wont support the current headphones,(news that microsoft is working on adapter,thumbs down).

For PS3,its best I've used. No buzzing issue for PS3 USB [dont use other usb for charging while using headphone]. perfect investment for next 8-10yrs console surround gaming.

Surround Sound brings the game/movie to real life. not much diffrnce b/w 5.1 and 7.1 surround 9/10,

Felt Rear channel experience is not as good as front & side channel.

Sound Quality is superb, Bass is minimal since low frequency is 25Hz ( The lower the frequency, better the bass), Treble is crisp and zero distortion [High frequency-22KHz] 9.5/10.

Rock Band.

It all started 8 years ago when I was introduced to Guitar Freaks at Gameworks in Tempe, AZ. The idea of playing a musical instrument as part of video game was addictive. Granted, the songs were original and limited, and the game bundle (offered only for the PS1 in Japan) was expensive, but Konami had the right idea.

Enter Guitar Hero. The original PS2 version, released two years ago, took the Guitar Freaks ingenuity and turned it into a product that appealed to the American audience. Those of us who had spent hundreds of dollars at Gameworks pounding songs on Guitar Freaks knew exactly what to do with the guitar and how to read the screen. I snagged one the week it came out and played to my heart's content. With subsequent releases of GHII and Rock of the 80's, I had enough music to last me for a couple of years. Last year Guitar Hero II became the high-demand Christmas item to give, breaking out of the die-hard "gamer" audience and into the average household (a feat very rarely accomplished by developers who publish games that require a unique controller).

Harmonix, the developer for Rock Band, has their experience with successful rhythm-based games. Frequency, Amplitude, Karaoke Revolution and Guitar Hero all won the hearts of audiences and game reviewers. With the success of these games, their partnership with MTV Music to create Rock Band is ingenious and exciting. Who else would be better suited than MTV to convince musicians and music publishers to contribute to this project? And what more brilliant way could any band market themselves? They provide a single hit recording which is then mass distributed through a video game then played over and over by the fans that made the song a hit to begin with no musician or band can go wrong.

And what about the game itself? Addictive. Energetic. Hypnotic. Entertaining. Fun.

Here are some real issues: price. The special edition bundle complete with the game, drum set, wireless guitar/bass and microphone is retailing for $169.99. It's expensive and a lot of money to spend on one video game. The nice thing is the guitar controller can be used to play Guitar Hero; however, it is still a lot of money for one game.

Another issue: system calibration. Some HD televisions and HD sound systems are causing a slight delay in game play, the source of a lot of frustration. There is a very limited and weak calibration setting in the game but it doesn't solve all the problems.

Another issue: the controllers themselves. Last night I spent many hours acquainting myself with the drum kit and got frustrated when cymbal crashes did not land correct. A successful hit has to be nearly dead center of the pad itself and that is not realistic when landing a cymbal crash. It is also frustrating that the pads do not react very well to snare rolls, a necessity in a drummer's repertoire. Anybody with actual drumming experience will find this process frustrating and will probably run back to their real drums for solace and comfort ("I can play drums, I can!").

However, all games face issues and luckily with time they can be fixed. Eventually, the price in the game will fall, great for those on budgets. System calibration will improve as game updates are pushed through online (a wonderful yet tedious aspect of the PS3/XBOX 360). The controllers themselves will improve with further technology and once third party developers get the thumbs up from Sony/Microsoft, they will come out with all sorts of accessories and equipment that will enhance and improve game play.

I can't wait.

Complaints aside (come on we all have them), this game is everything fun. It is innovative and creative and never-ending. Tired of guitar? Try vocals. Beat the drums? Try bass. And the best part find a band online or invite friends and have a ball. You will, you will spend hours and hours escaping into the great fantasy of being in a rock band. Guitar Hero put an air guitar in our hands, Rock Band gives you the rest. Expensive, yes. System bugs, yes. Controller delay, yes.

Worth it all, absolutely. And if you're still unsure, check out any big-box electronics store or video game retailer and play the demo. Better yet, check out the local video game retailer for Rock Band competitions (they do have them) and try it for yourself. You will love it.

I, like most fans of the Guitar Hero series, have been anticipating the arrival of this game since I first learned of its development back in July. When I first saw the photos of the guitar controller I became ecstatic. It looked like the guitar controller I have always wanted since I actually own a real Stratocaster made to the Eric Clapton "Blackie" design. The controller looks almost exactly like my real guitar! So with that combined with the fact that the game was created by the original development team fir Guitar Hero I and II, Needless to say I was quivering with anticipation.

The is no doubt that the guitar gameplay is very similar to the Guitar Hero series. For some reason though, I seem to have a harder time focusing on the notes in Rock Band since they are little rectangles instead of fat circles like in GH. But the song list is amazing and that certainly makes up for some cons. However there is one thing I cannot get over:

The Guitar controller sucks. There. I said it. The construction of the unit is just the cheapest of cheap plastic. When you are playing it, you feel as though you have to be careful not to break it. Yeah, the buttons are designed better in my opinion but the plastic actually bends under minimal pressure. WTF!?!?! And while I was excited about the buttons on the lower fretboard for solos, they are almost too narrow to be played by average adult hands. So now I will find myself plugging in my GH3 controller for Rock Band.

But there is a huge plus side: The drums. They are just incredibly fun to play. And while they may not be built like real drums but rather electonic drumpad abominations from the 1980's they seem as though they can stand up to some abuse. They are pretty hard to rock out to on the advanced levels making them a fun and addicting challenge. I have a good friend who is a drummer and he picked them up and did amazing on his first go do they are pretty realistic as you can get. The developers claim that if you can play the drums on expert level on the game than you are basically playing drums for real. Pretty neat.

The mic. I think this is alright. Works well but seems to almost force you to not sing in your natural singing voice. Instead they really want you to sound like the person singing the original song. Hard to sing like Roger Daultry one song and then switch to Billy Corgan the next. This feature seems to be almost designed for parties.

All in all a solid game. The song list is great and does not disappoint. Like I said, I just found the guitar controller and game play to be a letdown. At least the drums are great. But hey, you may feel differently. Have fun with it.

When it comes to video games in the shape of rhythm, there have been some of them that really have dominated the past several years like Dance Dance Revolution and singing games like Singstar for the Playstation 2. nevertheless, the one big hit that makes everyone want to rock out loud this past year had been the success of Activision's Guitar Hero series. Although there has been so much great success of the game series, many other have wanted to take the gameplay a bit step further by adding the beat of drums, and a hint of a mighty voice from a microphone for one rocking video game that takes it a much more hyped step further, and that adds into Rock Band.

Rock Band, for the Playstation 3, takes the excitement we've seen from music franchises like Guitar Hero, and bring more elements of rock by adding drums, and a microphone, by bringing the new element of rock to gameplay. That can also be said with the songs that you can unlock and choose from. The music you can jam too also takes it a bit higher, by bringing in artists that haven't yet seen the light from Guitar Hero in any of the games, and that adds onto the gameplay well. The graphics work very well, but the gameplay is in the songs as you jam to classics from R.E.M. on their 1988 hit Orange Crush, to rock gods like The Rolling Stones classic Gimme Shelter, and Bon Jovi with their 80's anthem Wanted Dead Or Alive. There are also cherrished hits from The Red Hot Chili Peppers with their 2005 hit Dani California, and the Foo Fighters guilty pleasure Learn To Fly. There are also other recent guilty pleasures like OK Go and Here It Goes Again, and Jet's Are You Gonna Be My Girl to play with here as well. The gameplay is simple to pick up for multiplayer action, or solo mode, as you conquer solo tour mode, or the multiplayer action gameplay of Band World Tour Mode.

The game comes with all the essentials you need from a guitar, a drum kit, and even a microphone, so you can jam anyway you simply desire to all your favorite songs, which adds well into the gameplay. Sadly though, there is one big disadvantage to the game, and that is the price. With the price rounding to over $200 for the entire gameplay kit, it may bring down the feeling fo being everywhere to the pockets, but as a party game, it jams in the multiplayer action very well into the game, by bringing the element of fun to the game.

All in all, Rock Band is a really great concept for those who've simply grown tired of Guitar Hero after awhile. It is a great game to rock with you and your friends whether it is online by downloading extras, or just wanting to practice on your beats, Rock Band works great as a must have for your Playstation 3, and brings in the kind of muscle the system has lagged behind from competeition from the Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. There is no other way to say it but Rock Band Rocks On!!!

I am a deployed soldier, and when I finaly got the game in the mail. pretty much my whole company got excited... even the people who really don't like Rock music came to watch those of us who knew the songs play and sing. We all had a blast for the few short hours that he have for some down time. There where some things that I noticed that could have been improved on... but when I looked over as saw just how much fun everyone was having pretending to be their fav. rock star, all that didn't matter... I would like to give a special thanks to the makers of that game, it really brigntened up our lives a little bit.

I bought a PS3 because of Rock Band. That's how much I wanted to play the game. But before you rush to buy, take note of a few things.

1. If you own a 40 gig PS3, there are not enough USB ports to plug in all Rock Band peripherals unless you have a USB hub. Without that hub, only two people can play at a time.

2. The guitar hardware strummer is known to have problems. Mine broke within days, as did those of two others I know. You can't exchange it at a retail store, but EA has a support site that lets you send any faulty peripheral back in exchange for a new one. I waited about 2 weeks for mine.

3. Don't forget to calibrate the audio/visual syncing. Having tried Rock Band on a few televisions, I had to calibrate the audio/visual delay each time, otherwise it just doesn't feel like you're rockin' out.

Those points aside, Rock Band is awesome. The guitar parts are, on average, easier than they are in the Guitar Hero games, but they're still fun. If you can master the drums, then you WILL be able to play a drum set in real life which totally rocks. The only thing I dislike about the drums is that the tapping is painfully obnoxious, so unless you blast the game's volume, you'll hear a constant "tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap..." As for the singing, I found that you don't actually have to sing the words. As long as you can hum the pitch, you can do well.

Rock Band will bring hours and hours of fun, and it's one of those games that has infinite replay value.

Jurassic: The Hunted

Ok, I just started this game a little bit ago and have been playing it for about 30 minutes. For the lack of any more information on it, I did want to let others' know what to think of the game. This is definitely not award winning acting, or award winning gaming at all, but it sure is fun for dinosaur lovers. Decent 1080p graphics, but nowhere near Uncharted 2 or some other games but I'm sure it didn't cost near what those were to make in money and timeless programmer hours. The FPS gameplay is simple run and gun dino hunting. The load times are a bit long, but I really don't care, I love to hunt the dinos. Story? WGAS. I sure don't. Leave the stories to Uncharted 2, Batman, Juarez and the like. No really good one here, but it does make it kind of cheesy fun the way they did it. I didn't expect much from this seemingly last minute release, but its a blast and the dinosaurs look good and its a bit of a challenge but not too hard for an old 41 year old gamer like me. I do only have a few minutes in and I'll update this if there is more later. Sure is better than Turok, at least to me. (Lots more dino action)

Next day update. I don't write very many reviews, but this game seems to be getting such little attention I feel compelled to get info out there because I love FPS's and dinosaurs. I only played the JP games on Sega Genesis. Back to this game. If you are into "realism" and hard core graphics and great stories, give this game a pass. There are many graphical flaws and other low-budget game type of problems and mistakes. Slow loading times are a stand out annoyance, but I'll stick with my 5 star fun review and 4 star overall review. There are lots of guns to find and some magazine upgrades to find, lots of the same dinosaurs to kill and B-movie, or even C-movie acting and story telling. (if there really is a story) But this game should satisfy the dinosaur FPS fan. Its gotten a little more difficult at times but that is good and makes for a good challenge. The checkpoint times are done fairly well, but I have found myself re-doing some of the same mission kills after dying, so, just don't die. Well, some might want to wait until there is a larger price drop, but who knows when that will be. For the dino fan, it should be worth it and there is much more to come because it seems that I'm still early into the game. Hopefully it won't be too short.

Final edit: It didn't take long to beat this game and I'm not that good at games. I do hope that the developers really work at a sequel and putting a story together for the next one, if there is one. I think there is a huge market for something like this if its really done well. Like, instead of finding voice actors for minimum wage like this one, get some good ones. And, gameplay, gameplay and more gameplay. This one is ok but its so clearly a low budget game. Well, I took off one star and ended up with a 3 star and 4 stars for fun.

Let me begin by saying how difficult it is to review this title. As I highly anticipated it's eventual price-drop from it's initial $50 bucks I could not have for-seen the thankfulness for doing so. I did some basic research into this title beforehand and discovered numerous other reviews stating "okay for a budget title" so being fairly new to the PS3-esque world I did not know what "budget title" for this system meant with other games being so awesome.

The reviewers were right. While not a "bad" game by any means it DOES manage to disappoint. Graphics are a bit choppy to the point where they remind me of very early "high graphics" titles for PC back in the original Need For Speed days. Graphics aside, dinosaur variety was also sorely a miss. You maybe see 3 species in abundance. Keep in mind however that these are the ONLY enemies that you are fighting. Example, walking walking walking, then something pops out of the bushes that is supposed to resemble a Raptor (forget anything you think you know about how they look, this ISNT it), shoot it, walking walking walking, random gun laying around. You know how you play multiplayer games and there's no one else on the same map so it's just you running around doing nothing and collecting odd weapons? That's exactly what this game feels like. Gampeplay is extremely linear. You-must-walk-this-path-and-do-this-specific-action. If you're thirsty for random dinosaur action/bloody violence, Turok is your best bet by far.

One of the main reasons I bought this game was to satisfy my own curiosity about it. I could find almost no official reviews anywhere and some sites had completely different titles and box art. I guess that can be somewhat expected from a totally under the radar budget title that was revealed like a month before release. Basically this game is a mashup of the new soldier of fortune and the newer cabela games (i read that it was developed by the same team who did soldier of fortune and in fact i believe some of the weapon models are compeletely recycled from that game) and the ability to see the dinosaurs organs as you shoot them in slow motion is taken from the newer cabela games. This game took me about three and a half hours to play through and in that playthough I got all but one of the trophies (play through on the hardes difficulty which is unlocked by beating the game once) there is no online multiplayer, only a weird base defense mode that seems suited for online co-op or even split screen for that matter considering the multiple entrances you have to protect but it is entirely single player with online leaderboards. So the game has very short legs you could easily 100% this game in less than 24 hours and there is not much to come back to , but the price is right and its a decent playthrough, just don't expect to be wowed unless its by the incredibly bad voice acting.

If you like shooting dinosaurs in the face with a shotgun, then boy have you come to the right place! It's a no frills game, but who cares? You probably aren't here for story. You want to shoot dinosaurs right? Cause that's why I picked this up. I wanted to shoot dinosaurs. And shoot dinosaurs I have. It's quite enjoyable to pump extinct things that have giant teeth with hot lead. Try it! You might like it. It also rains trophies. Seriously. In the first hour the game popped out 35% of the trophies.

I bought this to use with my driving games. It does work, but not well. When you turn, it does not matter how you turn the wheel (slow, fast, etc.) the car will only turn slowly. Also, the pedals only work like buttons instead of pedals, so when you want to give it a little gas, it will floor the gas for the car. The construction of the wheel is fine, it is plastic but it is solid. However, the software that runs it makes this wheel not worth the money.

It's excellent, but short. As a party game: 4 stars. As a 1 or 2 player experience, 3 stars and here's why:

Everything it does, it does well. It has an excellent selection of hip-hop with a few modern hits thrown in to not make it feel entirely old school. It's definitely skewed toward the old school and hip hop greats. There's even a track with no video, cus they just couldn't live without that hit. The word recognition is phenomenal. But when it comes right down to it, this is rap karaoke and karaoke is definitely a party game. As far as Karaoke goes: this is a very short list to choose from. Sitting by yourself, you'll blow through the 5 levels (around 40 songs) & unlock the few locked songs in no time and then from that point it has very little replay value. There are some extra modes and online features to go through, but nothing too compelling. You might want to take another stab at your favorites, but other than that I don't think most people will play much by themselves. With more company, the game is a blast. The list is just long enough for everyone to find something they like and know well enough to jump right in (it's really tough if you try something you don't know the lyrics to at all). Fortunately, they've done a good job of regularly putting out downloadable songs at an extra each to give the game some more life. Also worth noting: all the songs are censored (which is not surprising) but it can make it harder. The blanks can interrupt your flow. And some of the more foul mouthed artists (lookin at u, lil kim) have entire lines blanked out, several in a row in her case. As an adult, I wish there were some option to pay for and download uncensored versions. But I completely understand why the retail copy has to be censored.

this game is soooo much fun! from the second i got it i couldn't put it down. this is really a test of how well you've listened to your favorite rap music. this is like rap a karaoke game. i think u should def get a second mic tho to play with a friend since the bundle only comes with one. (even tho i enjoyed playing all by myself)this is one of my top ps3 games for sure.

I love the concept of Rapstar and the fact that I can now enjoy some of my favorite rap songs a-la-Guitar Hero, but the game is not without a few slight disappointments.

While the game is tons of fun and I'd never get tired just rapping (no guitars, drums, turntable, keyboard, etc), the game is censored, and somewhat oddly so. There are references to alcohol and weed that are kept in, while some are taken out and I'm really not sure why. Some curse words are in there and some aren't, which I'm guessing varies based on context. There are some songs (Lil Wayne A Milli, for example) where you'll be rapping one or two words in long lines for about 4 lines. You can obviously still say what you want, but it sounds weird to have the vocals drop out; plus, it's fun to be able to see lyrics to some songs you might not be as knowledgeable about.

That's my only critique really. The music videos with the songs are great to have, the way the game works to register your rap is awesome, and it's tons of fun to play. If you're a rap fan, you'll probably like this game, despise the censorship, but still love playing it anyways 'cause no one can censor you :)

It comes with ONE wired mic. I suggest you buy TWO wireless mics from Amazon or eBay, if you want the full effect of this game. So much fun when you have more than one person playing along. Plus when you get the wireless mics you can use it for other games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. Game is ok after a while and you have to buy more song online for about a dollar or more.

The price seemed a bit high for this item, but I decided to take a chance and get it rather than some no name brand. The 2 cables are very high quality and work well. The cords are also much longer than the cord that comes with the PS3 as a pack in. So if you need to charge up your controllers but you really want to play right then, you can plug them in and sit far enough back to enjoy your game. These are worth the money.

Five year old child, with Lego Rock, will do work well all keys. A friend toll me the center button is too flexible, but I use it and have no problem with it so ever. Okay, the hardest part of any review to me is an introduction. I am primarily an Xbox 360 owner, and that is what I use for most online games such as Battlefield or Call of Duty. However, I can now confidently say that spending $300 for a PS3 is worth it just for the sake of the Uncharted series alone. I would literally throw down that kind of money just for these three games, something I have not done since the original Xbox when Halo came out. I played the first two games on my buddies PS3 a few years back, but only recently decided to claim actual ownership over a PS3 system with the purchase of this bundle. I like the system, its controller feels great, feels reliable (basically it doesn't feel cheap). I like the fact that the system is silent when playing games, I also like that the online is free (but I feel Xbox Live is more organized, and yes I'll admit, there is a bias to my statement, sorry guys).

I'm going to go ahead and close this review, making it a short one. Why? Because I feel I summed up that I obviously like the system and the Uncharted series. I also feel that there are already plenty of reviews that go into explicit detail over the system, online, Blu-Ray and games. If you don't own a PS3, but want to jump into the PlayStation community, while experiencing a great game series such as Uncharted, buy this bundle. Playing Uncharted has done something to me that no other game has done since Halo ten years prior or Shenmue for the Dreamcast twelve years prior, and that is spend hundreds of dollars to play one game. That comment alone I believe sums up this review and any review from any individual or game site. Uncharted is the PlayStation's Halo its "killer app", and to me, worth spending the money to experience.

I'm breaking down this review in 3 catagories which are the saving cost of buying the bundle, The PS3 System itself, and the UNCHARTED 3 game.

1. Savings as far as buying as a bundle:

This is actually a really good deal for 2 reasons. One, the PS3 320GB system normally cost anywhere new between $290 and $300 dollars by itself which means your getting Uncharted 3 (As of this writing the retail is between between $50 and $60 dollars) for free. Second, is with the cost of Hard drives having doubled and in some cases almost tripled due to the current hard drive shortage the hard drive alone is worth anywhere between $150 to $200 dollars by itself. the overall cost savings on both items mentioned more than justifies this purchase.

2. The PS3 Game Console System:

This is actually our family's second PS3, the 1st one my son got an almost pristine PS3 1st Generation 60gb CECHAxx Launch model (November 2006) from his 2 best friends as a Christmas Present, not realizing at the time what a diamond in the rough he was receiving. I'm not going to lie to you, If anybody still owns one of this original launch models and it still works, KEEP IT! They are vastly superior to these newer "Slim" Models that Sony is now selling. The reason for the additional purchase is Problems started to arise with "play time" on the PS3 with my son so I decided to go ahead and purchase one for myself and the rest of the family. With that being said, I will move on with the review of this 320GB 4th generation PS3 Slim Model (CECH-30xxB series).

The Hardware on the inside is the same reliable PS3 Hardware Sony has sold since almost after the launch of the original PS3 in North America (Once they fixed the Blu-Ray defect). Starts right up, plays my PS3 Games perfectly, works with my blu-rays, and works perfectly with my home Network. The Dual Shock 3 wireless Controller that comes with it works awesome and is easy to use. The HDMI and Sound are also equally awesome (Has to be plugged into a "amplifier/receiver" to tap into the Dolby Digital sound experience). As far as the drawbacks go there really is only 1 that stares you right in the face and that is the New "Slim" Design, It's God Awful. The Best way to describe is as my oldest son put it; "Dad, That looks Ghetto!"; However, due to its size it was easily hidden inside my entertainment center and barely noticeable to the naked eye. The only other minor problem is sometimes you can hear the hard drive on the PS3 when it's being written to and read to.

3. The Uncharted 3 Game:

For those who have played the previous Uncharted games you will not be disappointed, it bigger and badder than before. Nathan Drake and mentor Victor Sullivan are once again traveling around the world to such places as the Rub' al Khali desert, in search of the legendary lost city, the Iram of the Pillars. Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer also return in Uncharted 3. The plot draws from the archaeology days of T. E. Lawrence.

Several new features have been included in the game, including mechanics that create gameplay situations designed to assist the losing team, improves ability enhancements and augmentations that must be purchased for each use, special abilities that are made available when a certain amount of medals has been attained within a match, and "Uncharted TV", a small video window that appears throughout the multiplayer menus, creating a video that can be uploaded to Facebook, YouTube or the XMB. Multiplayer also includes a character creation system, allowing a user to extensively customise their in-game character. Co-operative multiplayer also returns from Uncharted 2.

Other than that it's like most everybodys review of the game, graphics are aewsome, game play astounding, you will be playing for hours to play the game.

4. In Conclusion: Wether you are buying a PS3 for the first time, adding a second one, want the game and would not hurt to have another PS3, or just replacing a no longer working PS3 this is the bundle to get. I would overall highly recommend picking up.

It took a deployment to Afghanistan to finally break down and purchase a PS3, but I'm glad I finally made the decision.

The 320GB Uncharted 3 bundle is perfect for the adventure/action game types that really aren't interested in the Move bundle. I already have the Kinect for the 360 back home, and while neat, I found it to be a bit of a gimmick. Add in that space is a premium out here, I felt that the Move was an unnecessary premium.

I owned the original PS3 a few years back and I have to say that the fit and finish of the lighter slim doesn't seem as nice as the original (IE, satin black versus the nicer looking Piano Black) but I wouldn't go so far as to call it cheap. It seems this time around, it's just the basics, but you have to ask yourself: How often are you staring at your gaming console anyway?

I probably don't have to tell you that the graphics are on par with the 360. I haven't had the two side by side, but nothing has been so significantly better to stand out from what you'd expect from the competing console. Really these days, with an exception of a few rare exclusive games, your decision is probably more on what controller you're more comfortable with.

Speaking of controllers, the tried and true wireless Playstation controller is still mostly unchanged and feels like it could still take the beatings that most controllers do.

But that's enough about the console.

Uncharted 3 is probably one of the most enjoyable bundled games I've played since the days when Sonic 2 and Super Mario World were the standard issue. The controls are easy to pick up, the storyline is intriguing, action packed, and character development is quite good. I hadn't played the first two games, but with the plot of the number 3 installment being pretty self contained, I was able to step right in without feeling lost in the events. I likened the game to Indiana Jones or The Mummy, set in modern times. You follow the footsteps of Nathan Drake and his friends as they search for lost treasure by puzzle solving, fist fighting, and shooting their way across the globe. Throughout the game, you wonder if he also moonlights as a parkour champion, as you spend a good deal of your time climbing and making death defying leaps over obstacles in your way. The game's pace is very good at going from highs and lows, and not staying in either for too long. You may find yourself solving one of the game's many puzzles only the next to end up in an epic shoot out as you try to escape a burning building. I will say that the game is not for the faint of heart. Even on normal, you may find yourself dying... a lot. There are just certain ways to do some things and the game doesn't always reward brute force. Despite this, the single player campaign gets a 5 out of 5 in my book.

Multiplayer, for a tack on feature is actually pretty fun. I haven't tried any of the online features yet, but the split screen offers co-op modes of a separate story line, as well as deathmatch-like scenarios such as capture the flag, base defense, and survival. It's no Halo or Modern Warfare, but I'd give the multiplayer a high 3 out of 5.

So in conclusion, if you have been on the fence about the PS3, love adventure/action games, and not really interested in gimmicks like the Move, this is definitely the bundle for you.

PS3 REVIEW:

I started having issues with my fat 40gb PS3 a little while ago(overheating, screaming cooling fan). I decided to buy this package because I really wanted a slim PS3 and I love the Uncharted series. The newest slim model is incredibly quiet and runs much cooler than my fat 40gb PS3. I have completed Uncharted 3 and Heavy Rain and the PS3 has hardly made a peep. I got so tired of my fat PS3 cooling fan going full blast, drowning out the game or movie sound. I love the compact size, the buttons and the lack of LED lights. I am a firm believer that a game system shouldn't be a center piece that is crying out for attention. A game system should be as concealed and unnoticeable as possible. It's the game that should have the attention. I wish I purchased a slim earlier. I love the minimalistic approach. Some have complained about the Blu-ray reader being loud. I barely noticed. In fact, if it hadn't been brought up on other reviews, it wouldn't have crossed my mind. I have put it through a lot in a short period of time and am very satisfied.

UNCHARTED 3 REVIEW:

Minor Spoilers.

I was really looking forward to this game. The reviews and the hype were all there. Unfortunately 'Uncharted 3' can't hold a flame to its predecessor. The single player campaign is much shorter and the story lacks any real depth. The bad guys are weaker and less impressive. The bonus' were lacking and the intrigue wasn't there. It has epic moments. Graphics are amazing. Acting is amazing. Just seemed more repetitive than the previous games. Similarities with movies like 'Lawrence of Arabia' and 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' can't be missed. In fact, this game is almost an homage to those movies. Seemed like Naughty Dog Studio was under more pressure this time around to pump a game out. I think when Uncharted 4 comes out, I will be waiting for it to drop in price considerably or perhaps rent it.

I'm primarily an Xbox junkie longtime Halo fan, I have two 360s for 4-player coop, have logged many an hour fragging on Live with my younger brother, have poured far too much money into XBLA games and addons you get the picture.

I didn't conceive of myself getting a PS3 until the pricetag was at least sub-$200. But then, you see, a funny thing happened: my parents got a 3D TV. And I bought some stereoscopic 3D games for the 360. And I was totally blown away.

Before long, I'm looking for more 3D games like a junkie who needs to feed his habit. But shoot, I've bought all the S3D games for the 360, and... for a brief few weeks, I'm lost. In a daze. Not sure what to do with myself and the money I'm earning that I'd promised myself I'd save to finish the last year of my college education.

Except... one day, I find out the PS3 has become the PS3D. And there's a nice library of PS3D exclusives that are... well, 3D. Not just that, but I quickly find out that Shadow of the Colossus -a game I have loved for many years and will continue to love for years more -was recently re-released in glorious HD and stereoscopic 3D.

The rest of my life quickly unfolds before my eyes: I think of the girl I've loved all my life, the one I've been thinking of proposing to and I forget her instantly in favor of this black chick I'm going to pick up on Amazon for $300. I wasn't even planning on shelling out another $50 for more head, but I saw the normal 320gb model went for $300, and this bundle had a free sterescopic 3D game thrown in for the same price. Hawt.

Fast forward to now. I have beaten Uncharted 3 and SotC in S3D. Both games are astounding. Amazing. Awesome. Ridiculous. Mind-blowingly immersive. No number of adjectives will do justice. (Aside: I cannot believe that none of my PS3-owning friends ever recommended the Uncharted series to me)

My finishing statement: words cannot begin to describe how fulfilling this purchase was for me. I mean, I don't think I've felt this warm and fuzzy since watching Azumanga Daioh. This purchase is a win.

I'm not to happy with how the Move controls feel on the particular title. Seem a bit too "Wii" like to me and there are accuracy issues compared to any of the other Move products I purchased day one, Just think Wii and if you're OK with that performance, you'll be OK with this one. The characters look a bit Wii like too and the game mechanics are pretty bare minimum like most Wii games, you just swing vaguely in the right direction and you hit the ball. Not very realistic, hoping they do an update to this some time soon because the other sports games were lacking Tennis and Badminton which both me and the wifey love :)

Sports Champions set a high standard in showing the potential of the Playstation Move as a platform for amazingly realistic sports.

Unfortunately, Racquet Sports by Ubisoft falls short of this standard.

Racquet Sports was first released on the Wii in March. The premise sounded good--it allowed you to play Tennis, Ping Pong, Badminton, Squash, and Beach Tennis in different environments. The Wii version came with its own camera which sounded good in concept, but in reality was all but unusable. The camera didn't pick up your movements at all, and even when playing without the camera the responsiveness of the game wasn't even up to par with the original Wii Tennis.

I figured I'd give the Playstation Move version a shot. I figured with the improved camera and motion controls of the Move, maybe the developers would have more to work with. And since this was the first tennis games that would use the Move, Ubisoft had a great opportunity to set a new standard.

Unfortunately, this game had all the signs of one that was rushed out prematurely to hit the market.

On a positive note, the motion control detects the timing of your swings pretty well. This isn't saying much, of course, but if you're just looking for a game where you just smash the ball forward and back using timing only with no other skills or strategy, the game does the job there.

Also, the gameplay itself is fairly true to its respective racquet sports. You can learn the rules of squash, badminton, and beach tennis, and the on-screen response of the ball matches what you'd expect.

However, there are negatives with the game that made it a less-than-pleasant experience for me:

Herky-jerky on-screen motion. With Sports Champions ping pong, the one-to-one correspondence between your hand movements and the on-screen paddle is nothing short of amazing--when you rotate your wrists, your on-screen paddle rotates just as smoothly. With Racquet Sports, when you rotate your wrists the animation of the on-screen racquet is awkward and jerky. It's something I expect on the Wii given its lower processor and graphics capabilities, but there's no excuse for it on the PS3.

"Hipster" cartoony feel. With this game, you play with caricaturish cartoon characters that some designer tried too hard to make look "cool", complete with giant heads, black eye shadow, big toothy grins, spray-on tans, steroid-induced muscles, headbands, and short and tight-fitting outfits. They're the sort of characters that aren't endearing in the least--to the contrary you feel like punching them in the face. I know this is a matter of taste, but I much prefer the cute cartoony feeling of Wii Tennis or the photo-realistic look of Sports Champions ping-pong.

Inaccurate controls. Whether on Beginner or Advanced level, I found that regardless of how I positioned my racquet or how strong my swing was, the ball would go where it wanted to go each time. There was no apparent way to put spin on the ball nor use arm movements to simulate lobs, smashes, or anything else other than a straight hit. So while every rally seemed long and "exciting", there really wasn't any skill involved. It's definitely a far cry from the precision that the Move is capable of.

To sum up, I'd classify this the first "shovelware" game for the Playstation Move. It seems to have been rushed to market to try to cash in on the introduction of the Move. This game may be your only option if you're a squash or badminton fan and don't mind the mindless controls. But if you're a ping pong fan, this title pales in comparison to Sports Champions. And if you're looking for great tennis on the PS3, I'd wait for a game like Virtual Tennis 4 or EA Sports' Tennis, both due out in 2011.

The first thing I noticed when I popped this in was the detail in the playable characters. They're cartoony, but there's a lot of detail in their hair and faces. The second thing I noticed was some extremely distracting aliasing issues, which is also a big problem with PS2 and Wii games. Given the power of the PS3, I don't understand why this game isn't rendering in 1080p natively and/or doing an anti-aliasing pass like most other games do.

The audio is also pretty lackluster. Given the game comes on a bluray disc, and the PS3's built-in HD audio capabilities (and all PS3's have a hard drive), this is another "WTF?" moment.

The games are quite fun, though, and have a great feel. It's probable that folks not playing on a decent home theater system won't notice the lackluster graphics and audio issues as much as I did. As such, I still recommend this game!

I hope that when Ubisoft brings the Raving Rabbids, CSI, No More Heroes, Prince of Persia Trilogy, and Broken Sword games to PS3, they take more care to deliver a knockout HD audio and graphics experience that the other developers have already proven the PS3 to be more-than-capable of.

This game is absolutely abysmal and a complete embarrassment to the technical capabilities of the PSMove. A Wii game would play better than this.

When you see a brand new game utilizing brand new tech, the mere fact that it has been marked down to $19.99 is an instant red flag, and this game is a perfect example of that.

The motion tracking is so bad that it is almost impossible to accurately hit the ball/birdie/what-have-you. You also have no control over where your character moves other than attempting to point the Move controller in the same direction as the arrow under your character's feet.

Do not buy this game. It is awful, it is infuriating and it is not worth $1, much less $19-$50.

Do yourself a favor and spend your money on Sports Champions instead, likely the BEST motion-controlled game EVER to date.

This game's mechanics are very much Wii Motion Plus like, so if you liked EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis, this is leaps and bounds above that. Oh yeah, and the exotic locations are just breathtaking, especially Santorini. Before I purchased this game, I read the professionals review which gave this game a 4 out of 10 rating, but focused mainly on the training mode which I admit is flawed. I'd love to add some video footage of the game to convince people that this game deserves a better rating (especially with Santorini and my girl Cindy), but unfortunately I don't own the rights to put up a video of this beautiful game play footage. For the current price of an Andrew Jackson and free Prime shipping it's a worthy purchase.

+++ I liked the Racquetball (Squash). first time ever that I can remember this sport being in a video game.

+++ got me moving around, instead of playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 on-line all day.

+++ played it for 3 hours straight and still am going to looking forward to playing this one for a while.
