For the casual user wanting a decent arcade stick for fighting games, classic games, games without need for analog control or the second stick, etc., it's the absolute best deal you're gonna find.

For people that want to be awesome at SF4, Soul Cal, etc., the stick just isn't exact enough. You can hear a rolling sound when you barely move the stick--it doens't connect to any of the directions, but still has a bit of play. It generally feels loose, and although each direction feels ok (similar to the HORI cheap arcade stick; the one w/o official arcade parts-also kind of like the cheaper of the 2 madcatz SF4 sticks). Each direction clicks pretty loudly, and it's 4 direction, not 8 (diagonals aren't AWFUL, but aren't even close to a real Sanwa Stick) I also find the button layout slightly over-curved, but I have mammoth hands, and to the stick's credit, I think this design works better given the compact size.

Also, unlike the HORI stick, PCs don't recognize it. It's seen by a PC as a PS3 controller, which means the same irritating workarounds must be taken to use it with a PC. It can be done, but takes work and googling, and the process must be redone every time.

For SF4 battles, it definitely beats a PS3 controller. Once Sony decides to be nice and share their Controller whateveritscalled file with the world, this will become more useful. It'd be great to be able to easily use it with mame.

Overall, a solid stick and a phenomenal buy--just be prepared to deal with a loose, overly clicky-loud control stick.

This is the same thing as the dreamGEAR arcade fighter micro & I highly recommend that over this mainly for the fact it has a 12-feet USB cable vs 6-feet in this one. Other than that & a different color scheme, both are the same. Here's my review of the dreamGEAR:

This thing's VERY tiny (6.5" x 3.25")! Not even sure 18mm Sanwa buttons will fit. However, surprisingly the buttons feel rather responsive to the point I'm content w/them. It's the joystick lever I'm not happy w/due to a huge deadzone (it's similar to a Tekken 6 Hori wireless fighting stick)! Not sure what will fit in there since the joystick base plate's ~1.50" 1.75" in length/width & depth at about ~1.25". Only thing I suggest to remedy this is wrap electrical tape around the joystick lever actuator to make it wider so there's less of a deadzone.

Soldering to the PCB (if you wanna install a 3rd party joystick lever such as a Sanwa JLF) shouldn't be an issue from the looks of things. For some weird reason, the company's website says it doesn't work w/a PS3 slim unless you use a USB hub however I had no issues whatsoever (perhaps their website's outdated). The 12-ft USB cable helps out tremendously! Overall, even if I can't fit another joystick in there, I'm happy about the purchase (for my little cousins that come over & also it'll give me another joystick to use when I'm bored) although I'm hoping I can fit another joystick in there. Customer service's piss poor due to NEVER receiving an email response to my USB-hub question. I had to figure it out AFTER I received the product. It gets 4-star due to the huge deadzone & horrible manufacturer customer service. Then again you can't expect much from a joystick that retails for $30 & no, it doesn't compare to a $100+ joystick! That's like comparing apples to oranges! With most joysticks, the saying is true...You get what you pay for. BTW, you can easily find it for much less on eBay if you look...

I got it in the mail not expecting much but was very surprised to be in love with this skin. It feels like a whole new controller, I hope it lasts long!

This PS3 Controller skin was not what is pictured, so if your looking for a plain skin cover this is not it. This is the one that "mycarryingcase" sells that's pictured with ridges on the side, thats what this one is. I had bought some during the christmas holidays for my nephews, and fit quite well don't get me wrong. But i have one controller skin i bought at a Target store and its very plain and simple but does the job well. I thought i was getting a plain and simple one but i was wrong. So somebody needs to get the picture corrected. again very good product just complaining about the presentation.

Thank You

Wally

I bought this cable with the sole purpose of extending the short cable that the Playstation Eye has been designed with. I already own a USB extension cable that I bought from a local electronics store but that cable does not allow the Playstation Eye to connect to the PS3 for some reason. This cable allows the PS3 EYE to connect to the PS3.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

Simply put, this cable does what it is supposed to do, but you may not need it. I didn't know until I got the camera, but the stock USB/power cable it comes with, is 6.5 feet long, so before you buy this extension cable, think about your set-up and whether you need "extra" cable. I won't give this product a low score, because it does its job. I failed to research the Eye Camera and its cable length.

If you still want this extension, you can't go wrong at its current price. The cable is well made, but it isn't anything fancy. It's basic plastic shielded, not braided; its connections both male and female nickle/tin plated, but they still work and do their job without any issues. Hope this helps.

I have it connected to the Sony Move Eye and it powers it up just fine. The length is also handy and this cable could be used for anything USB related if needed.

My husband and I love this game. It is great if you like to play the campaigns together. What I like is that you can start the game alone but if you have a friend that wants to join in you start at the same level, you do not have to reset the game! It is a must buy if you love to play with a friend at home. Right up there will Resistance (the first one). In addition, it is a fairly long game so you get your money's worth. The only thing is that this game is a little scary for the little ones so I would not recommend it for anyone under 13. Other than that enjoy!

Ok, let me get this out of the way, I have played both the 360 and PS3 version through the first couple of chapters. I don't see a difference, both versions look fantastic!! This is an absolutely beautiful game on either system, I purchased the PS 3 version because I am still, and always be a fan of the Dualshock controller, I guess you could call me a dualshock fanboy.

Ok some reviewers hammered home the comparisons to RE 4, and that's fair, apparently Capcom didn't want to stray from what worked for them and RE 4 was a runaway hit. I like that the game "feels" familiar but different at the same time. I played the demo a lot to get a handle on the controls, because we can all agree that they take a bit of adjustment from other 3rd person games. I know for the purity of the game Capcom decided to leave the run and gun aspect out of it, but I can't tell you how many times I wish I could pull a Gears of War tactic out of my a$$ during some of the more intense encounters, but after adjusting to the RE frame of mind I adapted quickly.

The story has enough cheese in it to keep me happy, I am perfectly happy with the story, my level of escapism with the game was just right, I don't need a life altering story to make me love a game.

I can't recommend this game enough, it is perfect for me in many ways. In my opinion it deserves my 5 Star rating.

PSN IdKmann_Rocks

add me for some co-op! I am trying to get more friends on PSN!

*EDIT*

I am adding that the inventory/cash system is ridiculous lol. You can literally farm levels for cash, ammo, weapons and treasures over and over and over...

I still love the game though, online co-op is amazing.

FOR THE FANS OF RESIDENT EVIL 4: This is about the best sequel to RE4 that you could hope for. The graphics are excellent. It has a lot of big guns and intense action, and it adds co-op play to the mix. The controls have been slightly enhanced, as this new installment mirrors some of the tweaks that games such as Gears of War and Dead Space have added to the template RE4 created back in 2005. However, you cannot move and shoot, and you may be a tinge disappointed with the fact that neither Leon or the Merchant return. If that's what you wanted to find out, you can stop reading now.

Are they gone? Good. Now it's just us in the room.

You guys remember Resident Evil. You remember the exploration, the emphasis on limited ammo and weaponry, the 3D characters against static backgrounds with jarring camera angles to heighten tension. You remember the scares, the jumps... the "Survival Horror". And if you remember RE4, then you remember that you've already had to kiss all that goodbye.

You also remember the storyline. You remember the evil, faceless Umbrella corporation. You remember battling with all of their insane Bio-Organic Weapons, monsters and zombies. You remember how each subsequent installment in the series was crescendoing to a final showdown with Umbrella, all while revealing more and more mysteries about the elusive company. You remember the ending of Code Veronica, which was set up as a lead-in to that aforementioned final confrontation with the next sequel. And you also remember that sequel was RE4, which flushed that whole entire plotline down the toilet in the very opening cut sequence. Let's recap.

RE:CV Ending/Chris Redfield: "It's payback time. We've got to destroy Umbrella. Now, let's finish this once and for all!" The jet shoots off into the sunset, the credits roll.

RE4 opening: Umbrella went bankrupt and was destroyed, here's something else.

Well, gee. That was pretty anti-climactic. So the whole climax you guys (I'm looking at you, Capcom) have been building towards this whole entire time has already happened? And it all happened off-screen? There seems to be a HUGE gap here. Pretty sloppy. I would go so far as to say that this opening cutscene is the biggest anti-climatic turdbomb in the history of gaming. And what's the deal with this cult and the mind-controlling parasites thing? Why is Leon being chased by a moving statue? WTF? The whole plot of this game doesn't seem to fit in with the overall flow of the storyline that's been established up until this point. So how's the game? Well, the game is good. Very good in fact. It's a great action game (emphasis on ACTION), but I'm still scratching my head as to why this game is entitled Resident Evil in the first place.

And so, then we were given "The Umbrella Chronicles" for the Wii, which was basically the half-baked answer we got to the gap between RE:CV and RE4, and it's not even part of the numbered series. And now, after four long years, we finally have RE5. So how is it?

Well guys, it's basically RE4 all over again with a fresh lick of paint and co-op. Even the Plaga-infected villagers, which return as the main enemies here, have the exact same animations that they did in RE4. Now, I have been following this game's development for a long time, and I don't think it should take four years just to make another linear, Go-from-Point(A)-to-Point(B)-and-kill-everything-in-sight, RE4-style game, but I guess I'm wrong. Remember when they said that there would be new enemies in this game? Not Plagas or zombies, but a whole new breed of the dead? What happened to that? What happened to their talk of that heat meter beside your health, that if not lowered with water, your character would start to hallucinate? It just feels like this game is too scared to try anything different from RE4, and I think that it is worse off for it. It just doesn't have an identity of its own, and as much as I've dogged on RE4 in this review, it was much more effective in its execution than RE5 here. There is the co-op, which is definitely how this game is meant to be played. Playing it with a buddy definitely enhances the experience, and will have the two of you strategizing over tactics. As far as the A.I. goes, I've seen a lot of people complaining about it, but I didn't really have any problems with it at all. Sheva DOES combine herbs and things, but yes, you will have to do most of the item management for both characters, which can prove to be quite the pain since the item management is in real-time, and you're often surrounded by enemies. You can also quick-select your weapons with the directional pad; a control mechanic lifted straight from Gears of War. Speaking of which...

The standard controls are going to be very confusing for newcomers. You'd think they'd add the ability to move while aiming and shooting. It's kind of awkward that the left analog just sticks and does nothing when you aim, and you have to switch over to the right analog to control your laser sight. It just feels awkward, like something's missing there. Because, well, something IS missing there. I find it baffling that Capcom has emulated the controls/enhancements from the action-heavy Gears of War, yet chose to leave out the most practical use of those controls. The reason that there is no run & gun, according to Capcom themselves, is because it racks up the tension that the series is known for, and that by adding run & gun, RE5 would be straying from its roots. Um... follow along with us, Capcom. This game isn't true to its roots at all. This game is not Survival Horror at all. There's no creepy atmosphere or anything. The whole game takes place outdoors in broad daylight. I didn't even see one door opening sequence. Instead there are a brief trivia lessons in the load times between doorways to the next segment of the level. This is an action game. It's even more action-oriented than RE4. So, Capcom, if Resident Evil is going to be an action game now, then it should BE an action game.

As for the storyline, right off the bat, it's better than RE4's. But that's not saying much. Chris Redfield is now with a new anti-Bioterrorism organization known as the B.S.A.A., which sends him to Africa to bust a bioweapons deal that's going down in the Kijuju region. It is here that he meets up with his partner for this assignment, Sheva Alamor. From there on, there are a lot of twists and blatantly obvious turns. A couple characters from the series past return, a few new ones are introduced, and most all of the original plot threads are brought to a close, culminating with the death of a certain prominent antagonist. The story was kind of up and down for me. In a lot of ways, it felt like a true sequel, notwithstanding all of the dumb crap from RE4 tacked on. I was thrilled when Umbrella was briefly re-introduced and explored, as well as the section where Chris and Sheva stumble upon an underground laboratory containing a familiar old B.O.W., which was great to see, and had me pining for the good ol' days of the series' past. As a hardcore fan, that section alone was worth the price tag for me. But a lot of the big reveals -such as Wesker and Spencer's true motives -felt very contrived and cliche. The ending also felt strangely anti-climactic, and by the time it was all over, I was still left with many unanswered questions. What did Wesker ever do with Sherry and Steve? What ever happened to Barry? Last I knew, according to the RE3 Epilogue, he was heading to Europe with Jill and Chris. I'd rather Capcom brought back more of those past characters as opposed to introducing more and more new ones. They just dropped all those plot threads. They could have at least given us something to wrap up those character arcs, like an Epilogue file or something like that.

Overall, I found Resident Evil 5 to be pretty mediocre. Sure, there's a lot of great features and tons of unlockables that give it a lot of replay value, but at the end of the day, this game is pretty forgettable. The gameplay was solid four years ago, but it's 2009 now. The things that were exciting about RE4 then aren't so exciting now. Action games like this have evolved with stuff like Gears of War and Dead Space, leaving RE5's dated gameplay in the dust. It just feels stale. I never got bored like this with the classic Resident Evil games. I still don't understand why people dogged on its controls so much. It takes you, like, ten minutes tops to get accustomed to the "tank"-style controls, and then they're a breeze. They become second nature to you. They never should have changed the formula. However, I also realize that there's a new fanbase now; a new generation of gamers that don't have any patience for the classic titles. The thing is, with a lot of these kids now... the PS2 was, like, their first system. And these PS3s and 360s are like their Super Nintendos. Capcom is taking the series into a new direction for a new fanbase, and for the oldschool RE fans, you can consider RE5 here to be the last hurrah. In other words, this is the de facto ending of the series that wraps up the original storyline before even more fundamental changes are made. Well, it's been fun.

R.I.P.

RESIDENT EVIL

(1996-2009)

UPDATE (2/28/10)

LOST IN NIGHTMARES DLC PACK: Does Capcom read Amazon.com reviews...? It seems as though every cry from the oldschool fans has been addressed in some manner with this tasty new (though very short) little downloadable scenario, which covers a scene that was depicted as a flashback in the original game. It features Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine infiltrating the estate of the infamous Ozwell E. Spencer the Umbrella Corporation's founder. To me, this feels like the game that RE5 should have been. To start things off, this scenario features a nighttime setting, and actually has some atmosphere going for it that captures that classic Resident Evil feel. In fact, it's almost identical to the original mansion from RE1 and you will have to solve some similar puzzles (if you wanna call them that -the puzzles are all pretty much mindless fodder). Also, none of that purchasing or upgrading weapons business is to be found here. You start off with a handgun, and just use what little else you happen to find on-site. Ammo is very limited on the higher difficulties. There's also another section further in when you lose ALL of your weapons, and have to resort to using traps instead. This particular section can get pretty tense. The only minor gripes I have are that it's too short, and I could have used some more enemy variety (like Hunters). You really only fight one particular type of enemy, and he's basically the Executioner with a new paint job. But for five bucks, it doesn't lose too much points for this, and it's really a love letter to the long-time fans. This scenario is such a throwback to the original that it even goes to the point of being nonsensical. For instance, you will find the 'Keeper's Diary' from RE1 here, even though that document should have been destroyed long ago along with the original mansion, AND the rest of Raccoon City for that matter. I remember reading another review here on Amazon entitled, "4 / / Itchy Tasty... is gone". It's like they threw that thing in there just for that guy. I mentioned missing the fixed backgrounds, and there's an easter egg that allows you to play with fixed backgrounds in the mansion section (though trying to battle enemies in this mode is nearly impossible now with the RE4/5 precision-aiming setup). I mentioned the absence of Barry in my original review, and while they didn't tie up his character arch or anything, they did throw him into the new "Mercenaries Reunion" mode, along with Rebecca Chambers. I would have liked to have seen them in the actual game, but either way, it's nice to see them again. Speaking of the Merc Reunion mode, though, it's pretty lame that you can't pair the new Reunion characters up with the characters from the original Mercenaries mode. It's its own secluded thing. Anyway, I probably won't be reviewing the "Desperate Escape" DLC, but I felt compelled to speak on this new Lost in Nightmares chapter, which I rate

4 STARS out of 5.

Why couldn't the rest of RE5 have been more like this?

Read Best Reviews of Resident Evil 5 Here

RE5 feels very much like RE4 with a new backdrop and forced co-op. In fact, that is almost exactly what it is, however it is about half as long as its predecessor. There is more stuff to unlock and the realtime inventory system is both nice and infuriating at the same time. The fact that an egg now takes up as much space as rocket launcher is annoying and the fact that melee/bullet proof vest take up inventory slots is also befuddling.

That said, it is fun to actually play and the game is easy enough for most people to get into right away (after readjusting themselves to the control scheme that now feels outdated). I give it a 4 out of 5.

Want Resident Evil 5 Discount?

This game had a lot of potential but it fell way short of what i could have been.

First of let me say that the AI is Terrible! At Least in regards to Sheva. She is the stupidest AI character i have ever had to deal with. There was a part in the game when her commander says to Chris that she is a very skilled soldier and I laughed so hard when he said that. She always shoots first and removes the element of supprise you could sometimes have. Also When she shoots she doesn't stop until until she's totally out of ammo. She uses herbs and health spray as soon as i give it to her too.

I want to comment about how you can't mix herbs in her inventory either. You have to move them into your inventory to do it. And given the lack of inventory space(9 slots each) it's really a problem. Did i mention that the body armor you can buy takes up an inventory slot? No? Well it does.

The set up of the levels is in chapters like the last one only you can go back to any one at any given time which mean you can farm the levels for ammo and treasures. I found myself doing this every few chapters because I was low on ammo( Thanks Sheva!). Theres no combining treasure like in 4 WTF???

There one more thing that really pissed me off about this and thats the fact that you can't us a herb or health spray when its on the ground. Like if your about to pick it up but want to use it right away you need to have a free slot open in your inventory to do so. In Resident evil 4 you could just use it without having to pick it up.

The ending also wasn't very exciting, at least in my opinion but i'm not going to spoil it for you.

The reason i gave it 4 stars for fun is becasue of the mercenaries mini game which is awsome. This is probably the only "fun" i had with this game and you know why? No stupid Sheva using all my ammo! Too bad you have to BEAT the game to get it! The no pausing to switch weapons in the inventry adds a level of urgency to it too. If you really have to have this game I would suggest rushing through the story to get to the MERCENARIES!!!

And for you people that are going to say I should play it with a friend or "why don't you get some friends" I didn't want to play it with a friend because it's a survival horror game if i play it with a friend it kind of of ruins that. Not that Capcom didn't do most of that for me already.

The controller is great in almost every way. I like the offset/reverse thumbstick layout.

Pros:

Great look and appearance, I got this controller pretty much just for the fact that it's Batman related and made by Power A.

The buttons are responsive and I prefer the stiffer L2/R2 triggers.

The controller is wireless with no noticable lag or dead zones playing Batman AA, and has a built in rechargable battery.

The D Pad is also responsive and I had no issues selecting items in the diagonal directions.

It lights up, has some rubber on the grips, and includes an On/Off switch with a power save function.

Cons:

My only issue with this controller is the placement of the LED Color selection button and Battery Power Indicator button being located inline with the Start and Select buttons. If you use this controller to play any other games, that use those buttons some what often, you will find yourself switching the LED Colors randomly when you try to pause the game, or you will be constantly checking the battery power level (no biggie there), unless you look down at the controller to find the buttons.

Pros

This controller feels similar to xbox 360 controller for anyone who like's that layout.

The batarang controller has 7 LED colors you can choose from.

The controller feels Great and very natural too grip on and the Buttons are accurate.

Cons

But Using The batarang controller on Arkham City, MW2, Uncharted 2, I felt some delay on the right analog stick when I was playing.

So I switch back with the Dualshock 3 to compare it was way better and accurate.

And with the batarang controller you can't turn ON the console with the controller but you can turn OFF the system.

So Overall it's 3/5 stars for me

It's worth a try if your looking for a 360 controller for an alternative.

but I would say just stick with the Dualshock 3 if you want your controller accurate.

I've been playing with this controller for a few days now, and I have to say I like it very much. It feels good in the hands even with playing for long periods of time. It has a very solid feel, and I like the sculpt of the grips. The triggers (L2 & R2) are also very good, certainly much better than those on the standard PS3 controller. All of the shoulder buttons, as well as the D-pad, have a texture to them that's a little more noticeable than the texture on Sony's controllers, which I also like. The D-pad is serviceable and is better than the standard XBox360's D-pad, but not as good as the standard PS3. The lights on the controller certainly look cool, but I play with them turned off because I find it annoying to have a colored light shining in the periphery of my vision.

The main problem with the controller comes from the analog sticks. They do have a dead zone. Reading the other reviews, I was expecting a much larger dead zone than the controller has. Personally, I wasn't bothered too much with this issue. I think that the quality of your experience with this controller will largely depend on the types of games you play. For most strategy, role-playing, and general action games, this controller will work great. However, if you play many games that require great precision and very small adjustments of the analog sticks, such as driving games and first-person shooters, you might want to pass on this controller. I definitely would NOT suggest buying this controller for use in any kind of competitive play. For general gaming, though, it's great.

This is by far the best controller I've ever owned. I ordered it about 5 months ago and so far I've had zero major complaints. I've never owned a non-sony controller so I was hesitant that it would be worth it, but I'm glad I placed the order. Needless to say I've never owned a controller with a joystick configuration like this, but it didn't really take any getting used to.

Here's some things I love about this controller:

-It's sturdy and all the buttons are extremely responsive especially on games that require that like Dark Souls

-instantly turns on, whether your using the very handy on/off switch or the home button after inactivity it instantly turns on unlike even the Dualshock 3

-the previously mentioned on/off switch

-the display power button has four levels and is more accurate than the Dualshock

-the R1 buttons are flawless and don't make the annoying clicking sound that 360 controllers do

-the R2 buttons are triggers

-it's super comfortable

-it lights up! (but unless I'm showing off I leave them off to save battery

the few minor things I don't like:

-the face buttons fade over time

-the stuff on the back fades almost overnight if you remove the stickers

-the biggest complaint is with the button placement at the top, it's vey easy to hit the home or power display button when aiming for the select button// hit the light button or the home button when aiming for start

Overall I think this controller is better designed than both the PS3 and 360 controllers (since it's basically the best of both thrown together) and as far as I know cheaper than both as well.

I did not buy this from Amazon though I wish I had (their return policy is far more lenient than where I did purchase it.)

2 stars for getting some things right:

The wireless works well, no noticeable lag from input to action on your TV.

Buttons are all accurate, easy to press, though the extra buttons for the light and power status are conspicuous and might get in your way when you are trying to press select or start.

Cool design, and comfortable in my hands.

Minus 3 stars for continuing the 3rd party controller curse of questionable quality:

Analog stick DEAD ZONES ARE HORRIBLE, Sure you may not notice it if you... well... I don't know how you wouldn't notice it. Tested the controller with Uncharted and Dead Souls and in both instances the right stick simply would not operate as intended. Small movements in the camera are incredibly hard to make and usually end up with you overshooting your target or not moving it at all. It's horribly distracting and after a couple hours of trying to "train" myself to use it, I decided it just wasn't happening and just went back to my Dual Shock 3 *which felt fantastic afterwards.

Sure, Batman is cool and all but that made zero difference with me in purchasing this controller. My search is for a good 360 style controller for PS3 but sadly there has been none worth my time to this point. I had hope for this controller because of some other reviews saying they didn't notice the dead zone. Oh well, at this point it's a shame on me scenario because this is my second Power A controller with the same dead zone issue.

The graphics and level design in this game are phenomenal, this is one beauty of a game. My wife actually stopped dead in her tracks to comment on the beauty of it.

Gameplay is dead on, I have played for around 5 hours and not once have I been frustrated by unresponsive controls or bad camera angles etc...99.9% of all my mistakes I can blame on myself.

Elika is a beauty and her role is perfect, she is the perfect AI companion, and she never hinders gameplay. The only complaint I might have about the game is that it's set up so you can't really fail, she is always there to bail you out.

Trophies galore!

I purchased this for the PS3 because of the controller, I am one of the few that absolutely love the Playstation controllers, especially for platforming and action based games. FPS games I give the nod to my 360 and that wonderfully bulky controller.

In my opinion this game is a must buy, PS3, 360, doesnt matter, go out and buy this phenomenal game now.

To give some perspective for my review, I think I should point out that on the scale of gamers, I fall somewhere between the "casual fan" and the "obsessive fanboy."

With that said, I found Prince of Persia disappointing for several reasons. First and foremost was Ubisoft's (second) failure to fully take advantage of their astounding open-world engine. I cannot dispute that the developer has, like Assassin's Creed, created an extraordinarily beautiful world with some of richest colors and textures I've seen on the PS3. In the case of PoP, the cell-shading animation of the Prince, his allies, and his villains is reminicent of Okami...jaw-droppingly gorgeous. But while the graphics astound, the gameplay suffers. It was a groundbreaking to be able to interact with every nook and cranny around the player, but the luster of this level of interactivity quickly wears off. I still have the sense that there has to be some way that Ubisoft could improve the gameplay to be less repetetive. The gold-standard for open-world gameplay has to be GTA4, in my opinion, and the city feels ALIVE. In PoP, however, the world seems to be nothing more than an excuse to showcase beautiful scenery and show-off how cool some of the player animations can be...you never feel as connected to the world as you do to Liberty City.

My second complaint is one that I've read on this product review, but I'll point it out anyway. The game is wholly comprised of the following pattern: execute acrobatic moves until you reach an enemy, fight the enemy...and repeat. The acrobatics and animations of both the "traveling" and the "fight" are seemless and stunning, but they happen over and over and over again. I found myself bored rather quickly.

Finally, I found this game incredibly easy. I completed the main story in less than ten hours. I did not die once as the Prince's companion makes such an occurrence a virtual impossibility. I easily won eight or so boss battles by pressing the "SQUARE" button repeatedly. And finally, the game will prompt which button to push in combat situations...the computer gives you a crutch you cannot turn off. Dissenters might point out that by button mashing in combat situations I am missing out on some beautiful extended combos and animations. I counter with the opinion that a combat system is seriously flawed if the player can easily succeed by pressing one button continuously.

Overall, I'm in the middle on PoP simply because it was incredibly beautiful and had a decent story with excellent characters. If I were you, however, I'd wait to buy this at a discount instead of paying full price. As beautiful as it is, you shouldn't be in a rush to pay full price for PoP.

The new entry in Prince of Persia is actually not related to the old POP/PS2 games. Our new Prince is just a ordinary man who accepts the responsibility of cleansing the world. This is a entirely new story and the gameplay is totally new. The main character has four moves mapped to the face buttons.. as simple as that. The same action button does different thing at different times based on your situation. It makes it for a smooth gameplay. No complicated button combos for movement and no frustrating deaths. I have to applaud the developers for producing a very satisfying game play with simple mechanics.

Artstyle is so refreshing, it is this generations OKAMI. Character animations are the best we have ever seen in video games. As the game progresses prince can pull off some amazing tricks like roof crawl, it is a pure visual feast. There is a lot of variety in play mechanics. There are even some flying quests, carrying Elka in your back. First you travel through infested dark world where the game play is totally linear. Once you beat the final boss the level gets freed from corruption, it becomes cheerfully colorful. Then it becomes like mario star collection. More skillfull you are more you can collect. The second try of the levels are lot more difficult than the first runup to kill the big boss. Which makes it a win-win for every one. Skilled players can go all out in collection to get skills faster and earn trophies. Where in normal players can finish the game without throwing the controller to the wall. What ever the situation you are in Elka will save you. You miss judge a jump she is there, you screw up in combat and want a break she will help you. Combat is near perfect this time around.. no mindless button mashing. Every boss battle is different from other. Some require Elka, some require use of environment etc. etc. I personally like the new combat compared to the old POP games. If are patient and chain the combos you can beat them in 2 or 3 rounds. Especially when you start to chain areal combos it gives chills. Visual combat animations for combos are amazing. It is not as extravagant as DMC4, but very well done.

The main character prince comes with all the necessary skill from the start of the game. There are some good chain combos for combat to learn. On the other hand Elka gets new power-ups and becomes better as you collect more goodies. She is be best female companion video games ever had. She is always helpful and nice. Without her Prince can't do much, but very unassuming and humble. I liked her more than the main character. The story is her quest to free the world from corruption and prince is more like a mule carrying her around the world. I know it sounds bizarre, the story is amazingly tied well.

I have played the game couple of times, it plays silky smooth. No frame rate issues or hangs. Even though it is built on AC engine, the game is more true to the orignal POP than AC. Dont pass on this one, at least give it a rent. Even if you have never played previous POP or AC this one is a must have.

This game is truly one of the most enjoyable games I've played in many years. It reminds me of playing some of the earlier Nintendo games such as Legend of Zelda because of the pace and relaxation of the whole experience. There is no hurry in this game and no annoyances that you find in many other games. This is a nice break from some of the awesome but sometimes stressful pace and feel of some of the newer games out there. P.O.P. gives you plenty of opportunities to stop and smell the roses and to check out the BEAUTIFUL scenery that this game provides. Most games I play lately require me to sit up or stand up because they require extreme vigilance and concentration, but this one is more of a sit back and relax kind of exerience.

POP is simply just a lot of fun with no hassle. Some may complain that it's too easy, but this game is meant to provide you with a different type of entertainment than all the others. Controls are easy going and very rhythmical. The graphics are outstanding. The story is very easy to get into and not extremely complicated either. If you're looking for a change of pace or just a nice way to relax on the couch, this is the game to pick up. It's just a beautiful piece of art. Enjoy.

Sands of Time is by far the most fun platform of all time in my opinion. It was both breathtaking and revolutionary. Unfortunately, the next two sequels were more cookie cutter and repetitive with a fake dark atmosphere and repetitive, needless fighting.

This games returns to the fun of the Sands of Time. The acrobatics are the showcase. The atmosphere, though not the most vibrant, can be lush at times. The concept is simple you go to an area, find a way to the boss level, fight the boss, the area becomes "fertile", then you explore the area and get light seeds. You get enough seeds, you get a power. Your goal is to make all 25 grounds fertile, then fight the main boss.

You jump, drop down, climb onto poles. The same usual Prince of Persia stuff with the great, easy to understand mechanics. No falling because you misaligned yourself, no dying because you didn't press two buttons at the exact right time.

There are only about 3 puzzles and they are relatively easy. There are also very few enemies you only have to fight the boss at the end of a fertile ground, and possibly a simple enemy in between the grounds. The amount of fights has reduced significantly. The main change to the platforming dynamics is Elika, a princesses who helps you double jump and can pick you up when youmeaning you never die. This allows you to actually worry about the game as opposed to worrying about whether you can make a jump.

And for fighting no needless swarms to take care of. As usual, there are a combos you can use, you can use Elika's magic, and that's about it.

It's not all great though. There are two main problems the boss fights are long. You face the same boss for each level 5 times, and these things take forever. Each fight is about 10 minutes long of basically button mashing. Really boring and dull after a while. The second main problem are the special powers your receive. Basically, you jump to a plate, and then you either jump to another plate, fly, or run on a wall. This is basically eye candy with game mechanics that don't run well. You'll find this to an tedious exercise of trial and error. These two things break the flow of the game tremendously.

All in all, it's a fun, simple game that returns to the splendor that was the Sands of Time.

Pros:

Great acrobatics

Open ended

Fun

No walkthrough needed

Less emphasis on fighting

Cons:

Bosses are somewhat annoying

Graphically no wow factor

The "special powers" are annoying.

When I saw that what was described in pre-release materials as an X-Men RPG was going to be released, I was totally pumped, and like most people I feel pretty let down. DC Universe Online was a similar bad buy for me at the beginning of the year, but for totally different reasons. First of all this game is not an RPG, at least it's not in the Mass Effect, Fallout, or Dragon Age franchises sense of the word. You get to pick from 3 character templates, and along the way your actions decided if they will side with the X-Men or The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Beyond, that you get to pick between two powers every once in awhile when you level up, but the character customization is pretty much non-existent. On top of that the three characters you get to pick from are all kind of bland, and I didn't really get invested in any of their stories (which are pretty brief and generic).

Story is a major problem in the game, with all the great X-Men storylines they could have used for source material I don't know why they picked Bastion and The Purifiers. There are plenty of cameos by your favorite good guys and bad guys, but honestly they just made me wish this was more like a Ultimate Marvel Alliance game, or the X-Men games from the previous generation of consoles, where I could play as my favorite character instead of some generic one I didn't even get to create.

The game play is very much a button masher, there is really very little skill involved. The game is monotonous a lot of the time, pushing the same buttons to defeat waves of generic bad guys, and once in awhile it's frustratingly difficult for no apparent reason (maybe other than to stretch the game play time out?). I didn't find the graphic as all out awful as a lot of people seemed to, but they are nothing special at all. I've seen what the PS3 can do, and what other Marvel titles looked like on the system and this game is a let down in regards to both. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and Wolverine: Origins, both games that are over two years old look better and sound better overall than this one does.

There is a not a lot of replay-ability with this title either, when I first put it in I thought I'd play through as an X-Men, and then go again later with one of the other templates as a bad guy with the Brotherhood. Having played through once, I don't have the energy, if I was that bored the first time I'm not going to bother, and from what I can tell it really makes little difference which side you choose anyway.

All in all a pretty big let down as a casual gamer, and as an X-Men/Marvel fan. At least I'm not gonna get screwed out of reselling or trading this one in like the developer or powers that be did with DC Universe.

I am a big fan of Wolverine and the X-Men, they're probably my favorite in the Marvel Universe. So naturally I was excited to hear about this game. The idea of an action RPG with character choices and power abilities at my disposal that wasn't a cheap-movie tie-in? Sign me up. I read everything and watched everything I could find about this game before it came out. There began a growing fear that this game was not what I kept hoping it would be. But I got it anyway.

X-Men Destiny is a beat 'em up, hack 'n slash sort of game. This isn't a bad thing. I enjoyed various hack-'n slash and beat'em up games on my GameCube. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the best beat 'em up game I've played on the PS3. But lest I be faulted for continuing to compare this game to others, let's review it for what it is...

Storyline:

You take control of one of three mutants who has a short, very short back-story. You sorta care about this character through the dialogue, though it seems the same past story-line elements come up over and over for whatever character you choose. On a bigger scale, you find yourself in the middle of troubling times for mutants. The X-Men are scattered, lost and confused, the Brotherhood is preparing for war, the Purifiers are attacking and well, you get the idea. You have to find out what's going on and put an end to it. Because let's face it somebody wants Mutants dead.

Graphics:

The graphics are drab. They look like something from the previous system or a bad Wii port. I mean the character models are ok, but the levels just look sad. The corridors begin to blend together, the environments aren't interesting or convincing. The textures are just ok and the modeling and animation is sub-par. If this game was made by a some guy in a basement I would applaud his work and support him. But this is a full-blown retail game. Let's face the facts, this game looks sub-par.

Sound:

The voice acting is good, but not great. The sound effects do the job, but like much of the game are rather lack-luster. Sometimes odd sound effects stand out because of volume or because they seem out of place. The quietness leads to these weird moments and these effects are repeated almost noticeably.

Gameplay:

The game-play is a Beat 'Em up sort of game. The best part is you can chose one of three characters, you can choose your powers and even choose other branching elements within this powers that give you new abilities within this power set. That's the best part, the rest is downhill from here. You can also equip yourself with mutant x-genes from key franchise characters but most of the time these do little to actually make your character better or alter your character to be like the franchise characters and actually seems a little tacky. The beat 'em up is often a button mashing fest with hordes of the same enemies rushing you again and again. The missions (if you can call them that) are rarely varied from get from point A to point B. You stop and talk to other mutants (which is sorta RPG element). But the game is hardly inspiring, making me upset that I bought it more than anything else. Eventually you learn what is most effective and you do some of the same combos over and over again. Then the game will have you do these climbing parts (which are stupid and uninspiring). Then beat up some more guys, then search the environment for an x-gene or a collectible, then go to point B then beat up some more people, then talk to a mutant, ask him some questions, then go to point C and beat up some more people. The enviornments are bland and mostly corridor like-always, they look like corridors even when they're not. This wouldn't be so bad if the beat 'em up part was awesome (like LOTR: ROTK) but it's not, you don't feel like a kick-butt hero, you feel sluggish and you begin to wonder when the game will end. There are a few bosses and mini-bosses but on the whole the game is repetitive, uninspiring and frankly lackluster. Towards the end of the game you do unlock some pretty cool powers but they end up in all reality just being bigger-badder versions of what you've already been doing for the past hour or so.

Presentation:

The comic-book presentation and the simple menu layout is effective and easy to navigate, probably the strongest point in the game. The nice little collectibles that are like trading cards of x-men are fun, but pointless and don't make the poor graphics or bland environments more enjoyable to tromp through. Did I mention the environments and levels are bland and mostly corridor-like? So boring.

Conclusion:

The X-Men franchise is of course a fun universe to find yourself when playing a video game. For that reason, I would recommend you rent this title, as it's a fun weekend romp around the X-Men Universe. But the lack-luster graphics and game-play really disappoints on a whole. It's truly a good thing that Professor X was dead for this game though its' existence probably made him turn over in his grave, poor chap. In fact, Wolverine goes crazy at one point in this game and I suspect it's because the game is so down right bland and boring that he couldn't handle it anymore, and needless to say, I couldn't either.

The provided Amazon Emma Frost code does not work, but thanks to D. Norris ("a cheat code?" X-Men: Destiny product discussion) I was able to get it.

There are three characters/back stories and three different powers you can choose from. While during the game you can pick how your powers expand -do you want an orb that floats around you and zaps your enemy or a personal damage dealing shield that also can shock your enemy -it's pretty linear. Starts off in SF at a peace rally and all heck breaks loose. Emma Frost talks to you, instructing you, and along the way you run into other various mutants (both X-Men and Brotherhood). Talking to them, they pretty much reinforce the msg of "you may not have chosen this life, but your choices define you."

During various missions, you'll run into both an Xman and a Brotherhood so you can pick which mission do you want to do. Nightcrawler needs your help freeing some mutants and Mystique wants you to douse some buildings with gasoline so Pyro can make quite the explosion and take out the enemy (the Purists/anti-mutants).

Hits:

Be your own mutant

Pick your side

Various X-genes to customize/enhance your playing style

Depth to the characters you pick

Graphic details of the three characters you can pick

Fighting mechanics are easy to pick up, fairly easy to figure out

Lost? The game points the way pretty well. When in doubt, look for the giant X and beam

Rewards people who take the time to explore (hint: don't hesitate to pause/main menu and check out statistics.)

Emma Frost looks pretty hot despite being cartoon-ish.

Liking the plot so far -hopefully this keeps up.

Misses:

Female NPCs suffer the "block-y" hair. Gah!

Flames are 2D

Over reinforced message of "your choices make you..."

X-genes I've discovered so far have been lack luster. (Bigger chance to dodge projectiles. Regen mutant energy faster. Absorb mutant energy faster. Get an extra mutant energy bar. YAWN!)

If you skip something, you can't go back.

It's a little weird that you can jump/climb faster than you can run.

Despite the misses, it's not bad. I hope in the future there is more customization available in regards to characters and mutant powers.

=========================================

9/29 Update: After being the game, I feel like shrugging my shoulders. The game is not bad. There are many elements that were really yawn inducing, a few surprising and decent elements, and the biggest perk of this game is the concept. This is a game where it's best to rent instead of buy.

Pros:

1] Each character has a background that rears its head from time to time

2] Fighting mechanics are easy to learn/use

3] X-genes have some unique characteristics, and some you can "level." (Level 1 Magneto X-gene lets you hover off the ground)

4] The challenge arenas are pretty fun and the difficulty is welcomed

5] Giant X's and red beams will guide you to where you need to go

6] Spending a little time looking around/exploring will net you a decent amount of xp

7] Within your chosen starting ability, there are variations on later abilities (i.e. personal zapping energy ball or personal zapping energy shield)

8] X-suits look awesome, and you get your own personal one depending who you pick in the end (X-men or Brotherhood)

9] If your 3 X-genes and your suit match, you can utilize the "X-mode" which has various bonuses depending who you pick

10] The plot does have a somewhat surprising twist

11] The game takes place in SF, CA after Xavier has been killed (by Bastion) and so Cyclops is the leader of the X-Men

12] Comic book pop up text (in general) look pretty neat!

Cons:

1] You cannot skip the cut scenes!! And some can be painstakingly long

2] Graphics are not bad, but hardly impressive. There is still the block-y hair issue, and there are 2D flames in the game. Epic fail

3] Destroying anti-mutant propaganda, collecting "dossiers," X-genes, and X-suits makes it seem like exploration is encouraged, right? Wrong! If you remotely do not follow the defined path, the game can "teleport" you back to the last checkpoint. At the same time, you need to do some level of exploring to get all the challenge arenas and the propaganda. This is a frustrating paradox

4] Extremely linear gameplay the end boss is a hardly known villain

5] If for the game you need to jumping in order to progress and climbing in order to progress is almost uncontrollably fast (this will cause annoyance in some parts of the game) but for exploration, even if it looks like you can jump/climb to a destination, the game will prevent you from doing so

6] While you can "fly" in the game, it's more of a fast hover that looks cooler than sprinting. Gliding around a room looks cool, but "utility" (which is the type of X-gene it is) it can be quite hindering

7] Once you clear a checkpoint, (even if by accident) you cannot go back

8] Unlike most RPGs, you cannot talk to everyone -just one person/two people who are directly involved

9] Max collectibles are broken down by "missions." Given the urgency push from the plot, sometimes it's difficult to know whether you didn't get everything -or haven't had the chance to check (so you're screwed)

10] Everything is auto-saved so you can't go back to a specific time/save

11] For each new game, you must "re-apply" any codes (i.e. Emma Frost code)

12] Fighting mechanic is basically spam square and triangle -unless you have the "M-power" to unleash a stronger mutant power attack

13] Also, if you jump up somewhere, you CANNOT JUMP ONE LEVEL DOWN. So if you're holding onto a ledge that is about to get electrocuted... Tough luck

14] Pet Peeve: if you play Adrian, as a Purifier, the buzz baton is important to him. Post mutant powers, it is still a part of his costume but he never uses it or incorporates it. lolwut?

I got this game, hoping that all I heard about it prior to it's release would all add up to an exciting and interesting game. Boy, was I sorely disappointed. You start off as either Aimi, Adrian, or Grant, 3 new mutants who's powers develop at a rally. You choose their base power, and you're sent on your way. Here's where the problems begin.

1. I chose Aimi. This isn't a problem in itself, but she is supposed to be a Japanese girl straight off a frigate from Japan. She has no accent nor does she attempt to emulate one. Instead, she interjects random Japanese words in her dialogue in an attempt to seem more Japanese. Colossus and Nightcrawler manage to at least have their respective accents when they speak.

Grant, consequently, is an incorrigible stereotypical jock. He hits on everything with boobs that moves, and makes several horny passes at Emma Frost, Mystique, and Surge.

2. The voice acting for the player characters are dull and uninspired. For a person who's just discovered that they have "taboo" genetics, they're very calm and collected. This is made more problematic by Adrian, who has been raised to hate mutants his entire life.

3. The characters' back story is dull, the most interesting being Adrian's, who's dead father's voice pops in now and again to shame him. Aimi and Grant have abysmal back stories that offer nothing to the game.

4. Speaking of stories, the main story of the game is dull, at best. The bosses are not introduced, saved for the first and the last. In between them, there are only about 2 other major bosses, neither of which have any introduction whatsoever, considering they're fairly big characters in the story, one of them named. It's just suddenly boss fight. On top of it all, there are several plot holes and missing information that you're often left reeling and wondering what happened to get that person there, or what was it that you were fighting to do. In fact, towards the end of the game, these plot holes become worse, as you start to get randomly teleported to areas that lead you to the final boss.

5. The game is less than 6 hours long, if you've played a video game before. You don't have to be experienced at video games to get through it that fast.

6. The so called X-Genes are boring. All they do is change the color of your character's base power, change the damage it does, alter attack speed, change your movement speed, extend your energy bar, and alter your health and energy bar recharge speeds. Nothing exciting. It makes it extremely pointless to actually collect X-Genes and costumes. Even the X-Mode doesn't offer any differences from these same few changes.

7. The so called choices in your powers are pointless. You get stopped every 3 times after the picking your powers at the start to choose a new ability, the last of which isn't a choice at all. These powers in no way alter the game.

8. Choosing whether to ally with the X-Men or the Brotherhood has absolutely no consequence as to the story of the game. You follow the same story line till the end of the game no matter what you choose. In fact, the game is very skewed towards the X-Men, making it very clear that they are the good guys, and the Brotherhood are the bad guys, often making you feel guilty for siding with the Brotherhood.

9. The graphics are awful. Just plain awful. These I would expect from the X-Box or PS2, not a PS3 or 360. Within the first five minutes of the game, you run into the most flagrant of graphical problems. As the first mutant you meet appears and leaves, you can see his face fracture into the polygons used to create the 3D model for the character.

10. Combat is repetitive and boring. Once you unlock a certain combo, there's no reason to use any of your other abilities.

11. The so called "Challenge" missions are equally boring. They all require kill count and a rare one, possibly 2, call for item destruction. You only need to spam your combo to complete it.

12. There isn't any need to deviate from the path. The unlockables are pointless and you can hear when you're near an X-Gene/Suit. Also, there isn't really anything you can discover that you won't already know. Unlike other Marvel games, there is no delving into Marvel lore.

13. The so called RPG aspect of this game is nonexistent. This game gives a pitiful illusion of being an RPG, but again, like so much else, leaves you with crippling disappointment.

All in all, X-Men: Destiny isn't worth purchasing. You're much better off renting it if you MUST play it. Less than 6 hours of game time is not worth the 40-60 price tag, and for a game that seemed to have so much potential, it failed miserably to deliver. Given a better developer, this game could have been astounding, and possibly a must have game of the year for comic book buffs, Marvel's answer to the much acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City games. In fact, those games are actually worth your money, so get those instead. If you want Marvel games, go with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, which are much better investments and much more fun in terms of comic lore and actual play. X-Men Legends 1 and 2 are amazing as well, even if they're for older generation consoles. Anything, really, is better than X-Men: Destiny, so don't waste your money on it.

Want X-Men: Destiny Discount?

I' am not going to go into a full detailed review about this game when other people have done a fine job outlining it all. Any game that can be completed in less the 6 hours is not worth the $60 dollars being charged for it. While the story was interesting, the execution of it was not. This game felt rushed and left me very unsatisfied after completing it. There was so much potential for a great, indepth gaming experience here but sadly it was poorly done. Looks like somebody is just trying to cashing in on the X-Men fans by feeding us what was suppose to be a great in-depth RPG, but sadly we got the fatty scrap from that meal.

Its worth the rental, waiting until it hits the bargin bin, or buying it used once it hits the cheap shelf.

God of War III: Ultimate Edition

This is my video review of God of war 3 ultimate edition. I made the video to show a little more detail than what can be written.

Click Here to Read More Reviews >>

This review's coming from someone who doesn't flip out over everything God of War-related, or says that you should get something just because it has to do with God of War. Face itfor the price this 'ultimate' edition's going for, you probably want to be getting your money's worth, right? I hadn't played God of War 3 until I got this set just last week, and I didn't spend more than retail for it, but even then, I can't see how this is an 'ultimate' edition of God of War 3.

First up, the main selling point of this editionPandora's Box. It's a cheaply made plastic box that looks just like the one in the game. The plastic they used to make this is very soft, and you can probably snap the horns off of the sides with even a tiny bit of effort. There isn't a lot of fine detail on this, and it looks a lot like some kind of Halloween decoration you'd find at a party store in October. The bottom of the box has no detail at all either. This could make a decent box to hold candy in style, but given how it looks in-person, there's not a lot of style to it.

When you open Pandora's Box, the art book is waiting for you. This is probably the best thing about this set, aside from the game, and it's a lot better than the one that got released in the UK, which was rushed and had the same quality as your typical instruction manual. The US art book is a hardcover book, about 100 pages, and features tons of great art. Enemies, scenery, sketches, there's a lot of impressive work and if you're one of those fans that wants a GoW tattoo, this would be a good book to scout. The book isn't that big since it had to fit in Pandora's Box, but I don't have any complaints about it because you can see everything clearly.

Under the book, you'll see a black ribbon on the side of the 'bottom' of the box. Pull it up and it turns out that it was guarding a secret compartment (well, I use that term loosely) where the game is. Nope, there are no cds for the soundtracks that the box advertises, but instead, they're included as DLC, along with the Dominus skin, Exile Arena and documentary. There's a code for each bonus inside of the game case. The game features the same art as the retail version, and is identical except it doesn't have a bar code, and just says 'not for resale' in its place.

When it comes down to it, this sucker going for over a Benjamin is a rip-off. The game alone is worth around half of that, the DLC is cheap on its own (hint hint), the art book is nice but you can always find the same images online, and Pandora's Box is a joke. I know you can't expect much of a replica for the price, but they sure as heck coulda tried harder. Maybe if they included the God of War Collection like the UK version did, I'd be more forgiving since it'd be more for your buck. And if this is supposed to be the be-all edition of God of War 3, why include just one of the many skins available? Why not include all of them? But as it is, you're better off just getting the game on its own, and then getting the DLC separately.

I think Kratos would've went off about REVENGE(!) and tracked down those responsible for making it if he had seen this set.

The advertisement showed a special offer when buying the God of War box which should come with a bonus features. However the printed promotion codes which came inside the box were valid only until 2011. I contact PlayStation customers services asking for updated codes to download the extras, but they informed is not possible to produce a new voucher or extend the expiration date of the promotion codes. I'm very desapointed.

Hi, I decide to write this review, because I feel disappointed with the ultimate edition of GOW 3, and here's why

1. The box is on cheap plastic.

2. Downloadable Content skins, if your codes works, but is not a great deal.

3. The music, also downloadable content, again if your codes works, is pure mp3(not a good format for music, only for weight of the files) I will prefer physical discs.

4. The documental, again downloadable content, and like the music it will be better in a physical disc.

So is $100 for a disc that is a game, a book with art and a box of cheap plastic, and the rest is downloadable content, so the rate is for the content in the ultimate edition, but the game is a 5 star.

I recommend Don't buy it, is not worth, buy better the standard edition and you will save a lot of money, don't make the same mistake that I did.

The Good: Mass amounts of improvements, absolutely beautiful and epic on every scale, excellent boss fights, lots of extras

The Bad: Unbalanced difficulty, story takes a dive towards the end, it ends

Well here it is. After waiting 3 years we finally get the ending to one of the best video game series ever created. The biggest question that people have is if the game is enough to stand on its own out of the other next generation games. The answer is yes, so let's get down to it.

The game's story picks up right after God of War II with Kratos riding on the back of Gaia climbing Mount Olympus. The game starts out on the back of Gaia with Kratos fighting hordes of monsters (and learning the controls). The game starts out more epic than ever with an epic boss fight with Poseidon. Giant water serpents come up and try to kill Gaia, so not only do you have to kill Poseidon, but you have to protect Gaia as well. The boss fights are bigger and more epic than ever with Titans that are miles high (fighting Cronos is the most epic of all) and you really feel like your taking these beasts down with satisfying results.

I have to first talk about how the game looks. Yes, God of War III is probably the best looking game made to date and it really shows on every aspect. The sweeping camera angles, the high-resolution textures and models. The gorgeous lighting effects, and everything just feels updated and like it should on the PS3. You can see the pores and details in every characters, the animation is more fluid, the combat even feels better and more fluid, especially if you just played the God of War Collection. I can't really describe just how beautiful this game is. You can see and feel the passion and detail every artist put into the game from the creatures, levels, and even small things like blood, scrapes and nicks on metal just everything.

The combat is what has the biggest upgrades. No longer are you confined to having all your magic items come from your magic meter. There are a ton more weapons (four in total) to get, and each weapon has its own magic attack instead of collecting them separately. The Blades of Exile (yes the name has changed again) have the Spartan Army attack, the Nemean Cestus have a pounding attack, Hades Hooks that let you summon different creatures, and a whip type weapon that sends electric shocks. All the weapons are similar to the Blades of Exile, and the Blade of Olympus is now used during Rage of Sparta mode (yes it's changed and everything turns black). There is now an item meter which is used for your bow, Helios head, and Hermes shoes. All these items sound crazy, but let me explain.

The bow lets you set certain things on fire and is mainly used during the beginning of the game, but not so much later on. The Helios head is used to reveal secrets and blind enemies, and the Hermes shoes are used during wall running sections. The grapple hook still exists, but all of these changes let you use all your items and weapons all the time, and don't rely so much on just magic. Some other changes to combat were made so everything feels more fluid and you never have to stop fighting no matter where you are. You can evade in the air, there is now a grapple attack that pulls you towards your enemy in the air or on the ground. The combat system is just super fun to use now, and all the additions perfect the combat system and make a fitting end to the trilogy.

The QTE's are still in tact, but with a bit of a change. They appear on the edge of the screen according the controller layout so you can now watch what's going on. Using your peripheral vision is see these really helps keep you drawn in, so you don't have to concentrate so much on the buttons. It is a little confusing at first, but after a while you will get used to it. The QTE's are also better placed especially during boss fights. You really feel like your making the big kill this time around with a new camera angle that lets you see in a POV of the enemy your pummeling or in Kratos' view. This adds to the cinematic excitement and brutality of that game.

Another thing I need to talk about is just how much more brutal and explicit the game is. The gore is more detailed with guts hanging out, cuts being visible where you slashed an enemy, skin stretching when heads are pulled, tendons popping, veins breaking etc. All this is visible thanks to the power of the PS3 and is really makes you wince in sympathy. The game even has a more explicit sex mini-game that is about mid way through with Aphrodite. Instead of just panning over to a table with a vase you see two topless women talking about what Kratos is doing to Aphrodite and it is both hot to watch and funny.

The puzzles in the game are what you would expect from a God of War game: Clever, fun, and unique. Just like all God of War games some puzzles are an entire level with little puzzles within that, and Daedalus's labyrinth is one example. They aren't as confusing as the last two games, and are easier to figure out, but just as clever, and some puzzles are now part of the environment so timing and speed are of the essence.

While there are a lot of game changes like the combat, additional weapons, and even Icarus' Ascension (which is a flying section where you dodge falling debris), the game stays true to the series. Everything is just bigger, badder, and meaner but it does have a few slight flaws. The ending story is cut a bit short, there aren't enough epic boss fights, and the difficulty is highly unbalanced. These are really all I could find, but they aren't necessarily flaws. If the game were a bit longer, and those three issues didn't exist it would get a 10. The game is perfect except that little tic-tac sized piece that you feeling is missing and can never pin it. The game has high replay value to unlock trophies, challenges, costumes, and there are a ton of making-of videos for die-hard fans to watch.

I just can't describe the improvements of this game unless you play it yourself. It is probably the best PS3 game out there so far, and is so enjoyable and chock full of excellence that it's almost too much to contain. The amazing scale, beauty, and vast improvements make the game worth a purchase tenfold. I just wish this weren't the end of Kratos' adventures or is it...

ULTIMATE EDITION: If you pre-ordered a copy or can still find one floating around, and want to shell out an extra $40 you can get the Ultimate Edition. It includes a very detailed Pandora's Box, a code to get the God of War Trilogy OST, the Blood and Metal soundtrack, an hour length making-of video, and full color art book. The package is a bit disappointing since the box is made of hard plastic and not die-cast metal, the soundtracks were a pain to get during launch day since the site was bogged down and wouldn't load half the time. The Blood & Metal OST is pretty disappointing since it's nothing special. It has a couple of big names like Trivium and Killswitch Engage, but only three of the songs on the album were any good. I also wished the soundtracks came in physical CD format, but digital is fine. The making of video is filmed like a History Channel documentary and can be a snooze fest for hardcore fans who already know all about the game. The Trilogy OST is fantastic and is probably the best part of the whole package along with the detailed art book. Is it worth $40? Sure, if you're a hardcore fan otherwise pass.

As I have stated in another review, I'm a casual, sports-only gamer. My son wanted this game and it was a gift to him. We already have FIFA12 and I couldn't see why I would play this game over that. I was wrong. Sure, it's smaller venues and smaller teams but you have more individualized player movements, the action is fast-paced and it's awesome juking out someone and making a great pass and scoring a goal. Keep in mind I have only played on 2-player with him, but we had a blast with the different game modes. I hated that I paid full-price but my son loves Messi and there was a special code for a team involving him by pre-ordering from Amazon. I'm sure this will be discounted by about $20 soon because I just can't see it being a big-seller but when it goes down to $40, it will be nice one to add to your sports gaming collection.

I love the career mode and online features in this game, but i think it only worth $30 dollars. The only problem there is the impact system which causes troubles when players collide

FIFA Street is a surprisingly fun game. I had lower expectations, but the demo put those at rest. The full package has plenty of game modes: 4 of them, to be exact, with the ability to create custom ones should you choose to. There's plenty of teams to choose from and play as (from Serie A, Bundesliga, Barclays Premier League, etc.) and there are loads of Street Teams to open up and create yourself -including a "classic" team filled with classic players. The World Tour mode is a really fun career-style mode, filled with plenty of variation. Overall, there's quite a lot to do in this, plenty of tricks and modes to take up your time.

Unfortunately, FIFA Street does lack a bit of the extra umph it needs to justify a 60-dollar purchase (If you can get it at 40 dollars, I do suggest it!). Though it makes sense with regards to continuity, I don't understand why I can't simply create my own dream teams and play with them. Or, perhaps, import my player into a professional team. Likewise, a lot of players are missing from the professional teams. Furthermore, the arcadey feel of the game does leave more to be desired and seems as if it could eventually get boring. I've yet to get bored with the game, but I find myself going back to FIFA 12 frequently for its different experience. Small things here and there will annoy plenty of hardcore FIFA enthusiasts, but all in all FIFA Street is an excellent pick-up-and-play game, regardless of your level of fanaticism.

FIFA Street is a great game, but it does lack a bit, unfortunately. Regardless, I highly recommend it for the FIFA enthusiast or for anyone looking for a fun arcadey experience.

UPDATE: Not being able to play as official teams online really does suck, and kills the longevity of the game life. Moreover, the game definitely gets a little more boring through time.

The Hori Fighting Stick 3 is a solid entry in Hori's line of joystick products. As the only arcade stick widely available for the Playstation 3 in the USA, it has some big shoes to fill. Fortunately, it comes through in most areas. It's the best in its class and with the new backwards-compatibility updates to the PS3, you can even use this with your favorite PS1 and PS2 games.

The HFS3 offers a Japanese style ball-top joystick with 8 Japanese style convex face buttons. The stick and buttons are all very responsive and perform extremely well in the most intense situations. The joystick has a very sturdy outer case and weighs a respectable 3lbs. It also comes with rubber feet allowing you to comfortably play on a hard surface or your lap. A minor gripe I have about this joystick is the button layout which forces your hand to be in a slightly awkward and uncomfortable position but is definitely not a deal-breaker.

I found this joystick to be terrific in 3D fighting games and have no gripes about it at all. However, when it comes to 2D fighting games, this joystick falls a little short. Most fighting game aficionados will know the importance of circular motions in order to keep your competitive edge. Sadly, this joystick comes with the Japanese standard square restrictor-plate. I find it very difficult to pull off complex combos requiring lots of circular rotations.

If you feel confident enough to do a little modification, you can easily fit a Sanwa JLF and an octagon restrictor-plate into this stick. This is a great option since it comes with such a low-price tag giving you some wiggle room for upgrades.

Overall, I think this is a solid purchase for anyone that wants to expand their fighting game experience. I thoroughly enjoy playing fighting games on the Playstation 3 more because of this stick and have a lot of fun playing some older PS1/PS2 games with it as well.

For this price, this kind of a joystick is truly a treat. I've always been one to obsess about how much gameplay at home resembles that of the arcade the endless abyss of accessories scattered across closets in my house proves it. Metal DDR pads, multiple steering wheels, etc. Being a fighting game addict I can tell you that this is much better than the SIXAXIS for Virtua Fighter 5, as I'm sure it will be for Tekken and Soul Calibur, and whatever other games from the fighting genre may pop up on the PS3 eventually.

You will find that the buttons are much more accessible than if you were to try using your SIXAXIS by putting it into a weird position so you can counter your opponents' moves with lightning quick reflexes. As much as I love this thing, there are some cons which I should let you know about.

CONS:

The turbo option is crucial for some combos, but it can ruin some as well. If you turn the turbo on for the D-Pad Down, you will sidestep instead of crouching.

There is only ONE fighting game for the Playstation 3 right now. This is DEFINITELY not the time to buy one of these if you don't plan on playing Virtua Fighter 5, or downloading Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection when it becomes available on the PS Store.

Though many people have been saying this works on their PC (and I'm sure it does... lucky them) there are also people who can't seem to get their PC to get it to work, me being one of them.

For those of you who wanted to buy this to play other games, the D-Pad does not work for games that use analog to move around. I was excited to try using this for NBA2K7 but was not able to. Therefore, this is a joystick made exclusively for fighting games... or other games that use the D-Pad instead of the analog stick on the SIXAXIS a rarity I'm sure, for PS3 games. I own 8 games, but currently Virtua Fighter 5 is the only one I'm able to use this for out of those 8.

In conclusion, this is definitely a great product especially for the price it's been put up for. However, I would save my $50 dollars and spend it to get 1 more PS3 game into my collection if I wasn't such a fighting genre addict and did not obsess about bringing the arcade experience into my house. Dish out the 50 dollars if you plan on purchasing Virtua Fighter 5 or Tekken 5: DR and you're a fighting genre fanatic. If you REALLY love your fighting games, I've been told the HORI Pro Fighting Stick 3 is better, and that's priced at 80 dollars. Otherwise, if those descriptions don't seem to be describing you, I'd wait a bit more for a better joystick to come along.

I've been playing my PS3 Fighting Stick 3 with BlazBlue online and against my friends, and buttons and controls are responsive. This is my first arcade stick since the original NES so I didn't know what to expect.

Pros: A good arcade stick, with square gate, and button alignment exactly like the japanese arcades. Switches for Turbo, up to 20x, and also works with PS2 games if you have a BC PS3. A lot of bang for your buck without breaking the bank.

Cons: Not using Sanwa/Seimitsu stick, or using Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons.

I've been playing this on BlazBlue for 20 hours a week for a few weeks, and it still works. I don't know anything about modding, so I can't help you there. I've been playing pad since the days of SF2, so adapting to stick took a few days, but pulling off your characters specials and supers are way easier, combos are easier to pull off, plus it won't sore my left thumb on the analog stick for the pad.

I bought this joystick because I wasn't happy with my competition stick. I thought by buying this stick, i wouldn't have any problems performing my moves in street fighter. Well, i was definitely wrong because doing forward-down to forward motion, aka drag punch rotation, is very difficult. Actually it is almost impossible. Especially when trying to combo into a cr mk to super fireball.

Street Fighter Alpha 2:

I like using rolento in this game. I thought this stick would improve my consistency in doing the throw dagger command. However i was extremely disappointed that you literally have to mash the joystick in order to get that rotation to come out.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo:

I still had the same problem when using shodo characters. However when using sagat, i find his tigree knee to be exremely easy. So if you are a noob and just want to spam tiger knee, then this stick is perfect for you!

Street Fighter 4:

Amazingly this stick works pretty well for this game. I think it is because you only have to hit down-left or down-right twice to perform a dragon punch type move. Performing supers is also pretty easy but comboing into supers is another story. Doing a cr mk to super fireball is quite difficult. If you like to play online, this can be quite annoying. Especially when you get punished for it!

So overall, I give this stick a 4 out 5. After doing some research on youtube, i found out that it is extremely easy to mod!! All you have to do is buy a restrictor plate and you're set to go! I STRONGLY suggest that before you buy this stick, look up videos on square plates vs the 8 octagonal restrictor plate!!

Besides that, it's an ok stick for under 50 bucks. If you mod it, then you will definitely get your moneys worth! I Hope this review helps with your search in buying a new joystick!

This was product was really worth it compared to other generic sticks i have had in the past. Though there is a Square Gate, it shouldn't be problem after u play with it for a while, but if it really bothers you then changing out the gate is pretty simple. This stick has upped my game way more than i ever thought. this stick>dpad in my opinion.

Also for those who ask if this work for PC's, it does as many of my acquaintances have bought this as well, and this stick mostly plug and play on Vista 32 bits and on one Window 7 32 bit operating system.

Well, in my opinion this stick is truly a great stick for bargain hunters. And better buy quick the stick went up in price pretty quick(about 12 dollars more) in 5 days.
