I did some research, and if you have the newer drum kit such with the round cymbles this item will not work for you.Activision will not return your calls and you won't even be able to ask about the toogle because GH is not a even a optional game to ask about, you will get no support. If you have the older drum kit(half cybles) this MIGHT work, but it is a 50/50 shot.you will have do some work.So make sure you have a clear option to return this more than once until you get one that works.I work at a big chain gameing store so I know what I am talking about.

I did my homework before deciding on this Thrustmaster. I wasn't interested in spending big $$ on a joystick, but I didn't want a piece of trash that made MS Flight Sim difficult to control. I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision. The sensitivity is ideal. I'm a real helicopter pilot, and this requires a sensitive touch just like real world. I like the tension control, and the buttons are logically placed and easy to program. The base is sturdy, and the grip is comfortable. I couldn't recommend this product any more highly for someone looking for a great value for their money.

I'm a flight sim fanatic. I have FSX and Prepar3d loaded up and use them every day I have the X-Plane demo and am thinking of getting the full version, I also have a problem. I cannot use my legs for rudder control and that means no pedals. The USB T-Flight Stick takes care of that with a twist handle. It also has twelve buttons and several programmable ones. It is responsive and easy to program the base is heavy so it doesn't walk all over the desk. I've had absolutely no problems with it at all and it's around a year old. Good and reliable product.

This product was very realistic, I mean it was as close to flying I could get without actually doing it. It's just harder for me to play with the joystick rather than the controller so that frustrates me.

Wow anyone who ordered this product should love it because in the beginning when you first get it and look at the vinyl chrome skin it looks nice and shiny but looking at the pieces might discourage you. But don't be because like anything else in life you have to work for it unless you have someone doing it for you, but then again you're not learning anything on your own so I can say for the first time I will give this product a shot soon and when I cover my ps3 fat I will come back and comment on that but until then thanks amazon and System.com. ;-)

the skin is extreeemmlyyy hard to get on perfectly even with the water based solution. if you are serious about wanting a system skin i recommend going to their website , its cheaper on the real website than amazon. i aslo recommend getting 2, its freaking impossible to get it on perfect, with there being air bubbles, scratches, and not getting it on straight. Athough...the controller is pretty easy to put on. the skin itself looks good but remember to read the directions ... like 8 times before you try to put it on. or find a clip on plastic skin, thats what i would rather of gotten. if you take the skin off of the ps3 it leaves a mess, i have dirt sports where dirt stuck to the glue left on the ps3, and with the contoller, over time it doesnt stay smooth around the edges. GO TO . i use this site and earn tons of free stuff directly from amazon, no money or credit card needed.

I was fairly concerned if this game would be a good investment before it was released. The previews and trailers for it were very impressive, but I am loyal to the show for the simple fact that the gameplay is flat out better. The Bigs was released and has the same gameplay as the original 2K Baseball sim, but with this particular game the gameplay works. The whole problem with MLB 2k7 is that the gameplay is an arcade style on a simulation style game. The gameplay for that perfectly matches the arcade style format for The Bigs.

Pros: Excellent Graphics, interesting characters, unique player movements, and the HOMERUN PINBALL mode is very entertaining to the point of being addictive.

Cons: No Season or Franchise mode, hitting homeruns outside of your powerup is harder than it should be. (I'm not saying that it's hard, but it's not as easy as it should be)

I very cool game to rent for a week to play yourself or to own for multiplayer purposes.

If you are tired of the same old baseball game than this is the game for you. It doesn't go through the boring 162 game season, but gives you objectives to finishing the game. The graphics are great, the special animation is awesome and it is just great fun. The only complaint I have is playing defense. The game mechanics responds a little slow when playing defense. But overall the game is great fun with a lot of extras.

I love this game, unlike other games out there. The learning curve is short, I was up and playing without reading the manual. The game is easy to play and fun for all ages.

The game had not been out that long, and was already in the cheap bin, so I was expecting a below average game. I picked it up anyway, and i am glad I did. If you like baseball I would suggest picking it up.

I won't go into great detail as others have, but to me it was well worth the smaller price tag.

My son is a baseball fanatic, not video game, but playing the real thing. He has logged a ton of time with this game. This is an arcade style game, nothing terribly realistic about it (guessing the MLB games are more like watching real live baseball). He likes the whole turbo pitch and hit concept. Scoring a ton of runs. The homerun derby prize.

The graphics are decent. Controls are dirt simple. Learning curve is very small.

Given that this game is on deep sale right now, it's a very good bargain. I call it a great investment, many hours of fun.

Graphics/Visuals

This game is a big improvement over Madden 09. There are many new enhanced graphics and visuals. The experience can be additionally enhanced with a HDTV. Overall, the whole game is a lot more lively and vivid than the last. Many visuals seen on the game are usually seen on Sundays.

The new player models are excellent and the uniforms look superb. On one cutscene, the texture of the uniforms can be seen. In the previous next-gen versions of Madden, many of the player models were kind of bulky looking. Now, the players are built more realistically. New uniform accessories have been added, such as towels, hand warmers, team colored gloves, and team colored cleats. They are not the same boring black and white cleats, which was on the previous versions. For the first time, uniforms can be interchanged, as well.

Seen on Sundays

During the game, many details and animations can be seen on the game, fan interactions, QBs talking on the phone, coaches ranting, players talking on the sidelines, kickers practicing kicks, players riding the exercise bike, referee interactions and chain gains. One of the coolest features is seeing fans leave early, if their team's game has gotten way out of hand. It is also quite funny.

Game Play

The game play is better. First off, the game speed can be adjusted. Many of you played the demo and didn't like the speed of the game. Well, it can go from very slow, slow, normal, fast and very fast. Also, EA has added a new threshold differential. This means setting to the higher the level will give the player less of a disparity between the fast and slow players. A lower setting will increase the disparity.

The player animations and movements are realistically fluid and not robotic, such as the previous versions.

I noticed on some movements, the players use more momentum. Players can't just break out and turn different corners, quickly, like they are on wheels. They actually bend and don't stay upright, while turning a corner. Sometimes, the player may have to make a cut, in order to head up field. The best animations are while going through the hole. Pressing the directinal buttons will make the RB make many different cuts. Time them right and the defender can be juked. Typically, juking could only be done by spinning.

The player animations have improved. Players fall many different ways. Sometimes, it even seems as if they are going to break out of a tackle, then they start to fall. There have been times when I was on the edge of my seat because I thought my player was breaking the last tackle in order to "take it to the house", but he goes down. Not to bad. The Pro-Tak is realistic. The players pile up, when necessary. It is not an every down occurrence. Keep in mind, different modes carry different Pro-Tak results.

The game is very competitive!!! Even this year's version of All-Pro is a lot harder than the previous versions. Players cannot expect to just dominate the game above the Pro level. Many glitches from the previous version have been neutralized, as well. Also, the computer does not make themselves sitting ducks for hit-stick tackles, such as previous versions of Madden. They do more weaving on this game, which is fine.

Flaws

There are a few things that disturb me about the game. The first issue is the new running motions of the players. It seems like they run with their heads down. They also look as if they are just struggling to try to run. In addition, every player runs in the same motion. The previous Madden had at least 3 or 4 different running motions.

The next issue is the new "fight for the fumble" feature and the chain gang. "Fight for the fumble" is a joke. It is like a mini game, which you have to press various buttons rapidly in order for possession to be gained. There was a play, which the player fumbled and two of my team members dove on the ball. Clearly, I had possession of the football. Unfortunately, I still had to fight for the football and lost possession of the recovery. Of course, this feature can be turned off. The chain gang will drive you crazy. Every single time you have a nine yard play, the chain gang comes out. I mean, lots of times, you know that you didn't get a first down. What is worse, this feature cannot be skipped.

Some of the cutscenes get repetative. During the game, you will constantly see the same cutscenes, which involve the same position players. For example, when you see the QB talking on the phone, you see the FS over his left shoulder, each time. Then, you will see the triplets sitting down (QB, RB and WR). Then, when a play goes awry, the coach will be ranting at a player who had nothing to do with the play going wrong. For example, if the QB throws a pick, the coach will rant at the OL. Why not the QB? If the QB throws a pick, he yells at the OL or the FB. That makes no sense. They should have had at least 20 cutscenes, which involves different position players.

Depending on what level you play on, you will experience some of the issues, which was on the other Madden games. You will still see makeshift tackling. This goes on during "Pro-Tak" animations. In modes other than Pro, you will NOT see double-hit tackling. In All-Madden, the AI of your teams just goes out of the window, such as OTs ignoring blocking assignments. In addition, many of the issues become more magnified. All-Madden is totally unplayable. I would suggest playing on Pro or Custom and tampering with the settings.

The commentary is just dull and scripted. It would be nice to have a Madden, which has some loud an exciting commentary. For example, if someone makes a spectacular catch, I want the commentator to have excitement in his voice, when the play happens. I compare this to how it feels when watching Sunday Night games on ESPN. Hearing exciting commentary, while watching a game makes it more exciting. The dull commentary takes away from that experience.

Though the half-time presentation is good, the highlights are shown out of order. When watching real football, half-time and post-game shows at least have the highlights shown in sequential. This could have made the half-time presentation more organized.

The Verdict

Everything on the game has been improved in many ways. In fact, it is a complete turnaround from the last version. If it were not for the flaws, which I mentioned, the game would be even more superior. Of course, no game is going to be perfect, no matter what. Many critics need to realize this. Therefore, if you loved M09 (2008 was horrific), you will absolutely love this latest installment of Madden. Keep in mind, this finished product is a lot better than the demo!!!

Let me start off by sating that this is the best madden I have ever played. Yet, for the price, I still feel like Ive been scammed for some reason. I'm fine with paying $60 for a quality game like MGS4, COD4 MW, COD Modern Warfare 2, Gran Turismo, etc.. I feel that this game was rushed, and that the preview blogs that they posted moths before the launched made me feel like that this is going to be one of those top tier games. They worked on the visual details so much that they didnt spend enough time on the actual gameplay.

Pros:

1. The claim that they made that whatever you see on Sundays is what you will see on the game is true. You will see every detail on the player (towels, handwarmers, type of sleeve, type of helmet down to the exact model and facemask, gloves). Referees are there and so are the chain gangs and coaches.

2.The mechanics have slightly improved. You can now adjust the game speed based on you preference. The routes WRs run have been improved (more realistic).

Cons: THERE ARE MANY

1.Franchise Mode lacks a lot. The Injury system has improved but only on the short term (during games). In the long term (season), injury sys. is still unrealistic. For example, If a player tears his ACL completely during the Pre-Season, he will be out for the season and available the following season. Taken into acct that ACLs take about 1 year to heal with surgery, this is accurate. But one of my guys tore an ACL, during the NFC Championship game and he was out for the season, but was available at the start of the following season. Considering that the NFC Champ. games is in late Jan. and the start of pre season is in Aug., thats only 6 1/2 months. There is no way a player can come back from a complete ACL tear in 6 months. Also, the players are too agressive in contract signings. I played as the Eagles one time and their heir apparent at QB, Kevin Kolb wanted $32M for a 4 year contract, and McNabb was still on the team. Kolb had done nothing for the team except for holding kicks, and he wants $32M. That's absurd! He wasnt even that good, He was ated in the 70s. Then the next year Ellis Hobbs was asking for another $40M+ contract, FOR BEING A NICKELBACK!! I think Madden should take into acct the roles that each player plays on the team and how they should negotiate in contracts. A player that I drafted 2nd overall(QB) wanted a 6 year $90M contract and he hasnt even proven anything, He is worse than his real life counter-parts. I can tell you for sure that Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford, Mark Sanchez, and Joe Flacco didnt get that kind of contract. They should use the contract system from NFL Head COach 09 which implemented bonuses, because in this game the GM (you ) have no leverage against them. If you dont sign them they go to Free Agency and you will be mad at wasting that 2nd overall pick.

2. More from FRANCHISE MODE

The Madden people claim that there will be a different feeling in playing regular season games than playoff games. Personally, I dont see a difference. The cut scene after winning the SB is always the same and looks so fake. On the makeshift stage that the winners stand on, its always the QB who holds the MVP trophy no matter who wins it. A WR or TE can be MVP and you will still see the QB holding the trophy in the end. Also, the cutscenes get annoying and most of it is cheesy. What annoys me out of all of them is the chain gang measuring the spot scene. If you pick up 9 yards on 1st and 10 and can clearly see that the ball didnt make it across, the cuscene would still play. Whats annoying is that if you gain 9yds, the ball is 1yd behind the 1st down marker, in the cutscene they make it look like the ball is 2in from the 1st down marker.Madden only has 3 or 4 spots that the ball is in during that cut scene (2in short, 1 foot short, ball halfway past stick, and ball completly past the stick) Even if youre downed 1yd past the 1st down, when the cutscene plays, the ball will be at most 1/2 past the stick, but when it comes back to the regular view, the ball gets spotted 1yd past the stick.

3.Players on the sideline.

Everytime the game cuts to a scene showing the entire sideline, the are two groups of players who do the same thing, they are even snchronized.

4. Limited playbook

The playbook is so limited. There are no trick plays to run, and the sub packages feature has been removed. Now you have to indv sub your players to change packages. To touch on the playbook, it is so limited. I wish that they would update the playbooks like they do with the roster. Heck, the eagles dont even have a wildcat set for Mike Vick.

5.Wildcat

Its good that they put in the wildcat formation in the game. But its basically useless. First off, you cant audible out of it and you cant hot route out of it. If you play in anything higher than PRO difficulty, you will find this formation useless. Also on WC passing plays, the passer cant scramble, and since you cant audible out of it, the defense coincidentally calls a blitz and you are basically guaranteed a sack.

6. AI

There are serious problems with the CPU AI in this game. If you play in PRO diff. and up, you will find the CPU team basically calling plays that perfectly counters what you called. If you call an Iso run up the middle out of the I, defense will blitz all or at least 2 LBs, and they will pack the box with 8 men. If you audible out of that and call a deep pass play, they will drop everyone back. This ticks me off the most because I feel like I'm playing against someone, and telling them what play I'm gonna run b4 I snap the ball. This is what makes wildcat useless. If you call an option play out of the wildcat. The defense will blitz both ouside LBs, so it doesent matter if you hand it off or do a QB keeper the defense will still get you for a loss. You cant do anything about it cause you cant audible. Also, if you call a wildcat run play, the defense will stuff 10 guys in the box and your outsde recievers will not be covered by anybody, but since you can audible, thats another negative play. "Coincidentaly", If you call a wildcat passing play, all the DBs will cover and jam your WRs and blitz the LBs, and since you cant scramble, the passer is a sitting duck, and this is almost a guaranteed sack.

7.Difficulty.

The difficulty settings on Madden has little or nothing to do with your player's or CPU's players' skills. Its all about making mistakes and the CPUs ability to "spy in your huddle"(know what play youre gonna run). On the PRO level, its still impossible to stop the passing attack of the CPU. No matter what play u call in D-fense, the CPU QB will complete every pass. The difference btw EASY and HArder difficulties is when you set it to an easier mode, the CPU's QB will throw an INT or fumble in the redzone. So the QB will end up completing 20 out of 24 passes and out of his 4 incompletions 3 will be INTs.

8.Blocking

THe blocking is terrible. Linemen always misses blitzin players and its even worse on running plays. They always seem to let their man go right when the RB is hitting the hole. So even if you line up in a Spread 4WR formation and run a dive play, it will seem like you will gain at least 20 yds cause the defense is spread out, there is nothing but green in front of you. But no, right when you hit the hole a 300lb DT will somehow shed his block or the Lineman will let him go, and tackle a RB going full speed wich nets you a 3 yd gain. I DONT KNOW HOW SOMEONE COULD TURN THEIR BODY AROUND 90 DEGREES AND WRAP UP A RUNNINGBACK CHARGING AT FULL SPEED!!! The problem is that the running backs hit the hole soft which is completely different from how real life RBs do it.

9.Inefectivity of the Blitz

Blitzing is done to knock the QB out of his rythmn and hopefully get a sack. In Madden, it is impossible to get a sack. The QB will somehow find a reciever (even if its is on his blindside) and get rid of the ball at the last moment. Even if you knock him on his ass every play, he would still get the ball out and his rythmn would still be intact. His Linemen also have superpowers in the sense that if you blitz a linebacker in between the RG and RT and bouth of them are blocking the DT And DE, then the LG or LT (someone who is 350lbs!!) will slide all the way in between the RG and RT to pick up the blitz.

10.Special Teams

Special teams is a non-factor in this game. Its impossible to block a field goal, impossible to block a punt(except from the 1yd line), and the blocking on Punt Return is terrible. I dont even do FG blocks anymore, its a waste of time

Buy Madden NFL 10 Now

I haven't bought a Madden game since 2005 when they first introduced QB vision. I thought vision was actually pretty cool back then. I decided to take the plunge and buy the Madden 10 game for the PS3, and honestly, I was very disappointed. Overall the game looks really good on my nice HDtv, but EA is really trying to nickel and dime the consumer with all this Downloadable content that was already included in the series before DLC was available. I'm going to go through every aspect of the game and I think many of you will know what I am talking about.

Superstar mode

My biggest gripe about this madden game is that they completely ruined superstar mode where you create a player and play him as a rookie. You can't workout or anything to improve your players ratings. You have one practice a week and then you play the game, but no matter how well you play, your ratings don't improve or progress. I had the sim the rest of the year to find out that ratings will only go up at the end of the year. But don't fret, if you're impatient, you can pay for DLC that will give your player the max progression for that year or make him a leader of the team. That is ridiculous, these use to be in the Madden game in 2005, now they want you to pay an extra 2 dollars to get it. They also got rid of email or cell phone messages and the ability to select an agent. I thought it was cool when I got an email from my mom congratulating me on winning the offensive player of the week award. There is also nothing to do during the offseason. You can't star in a movie or anything fun anymore.

Franchise mode

EA also did a wonderful job of stripping this down as well. It just seems like you have less options. You don't have a budget to control, you can't increase or decrease ticket prices, you can't do any improvements on your stadium. I liked being able to customize my team after a few years in Madden 05, now I can't do any of this. You sim through, play the game, then you practice, then you play another game and the cycle continues. You can't really do anything else. It's quite boring.

Online game-play

This is the only worthwhile thing I enjoy about Madden 10. You can play others online. There are four modes you can play. There is a ranked single player game, an unranked scrimmage, and an co-op mode, and an online franchise mode. Most of these modes are great, except when they aren't working. I play using my comcast internet connection and get disconnected often which is ridiculous. When this happens, you get an automatic loss and a blemish on your record even when you're winning the game. I know it's not my internet connection, so it's something on EA's part. Their servers has always been known to be very craptacular. I decided that I would get all my trophies for madden, but i can't because the last trophies I neen require that I play the online co-op mode, but it is uber buggy. This mode is meant for you to play against the computer with another live person on your team. The problem is, everytime you start the game, you get the message "the connection with your peer has been lost". This problem has been made known to EA for some time and they have yet to release a patch to address this. I have not tried the online franchise mode, but have heard that it is buggy as well. Each copy of madden comes with one redemption code you need to use to activate the online franchise mode on ONE profile. The only problem is that I'm not the only person that plays madden on my PS3. If someone else wanted to use the online franchise feature on their PSN ID, they have to shell out another 10 bucks. Now if I sell my Madden 10 game, it's basically worth 10 dollars less because the redemption code is non transferrable. This is just another way that EA is trying to nickel and dime you. EA does provide a roster update almost weekly that adjusts for how a player is doing in real life or any trades that might happen which is cool.

Other Small things I noticed

-Commentary is repetitive and very awkward sounding. The same things are said at the end of the game replacing the team names.

-Freezing occurs sometimes for no reason

-You can't throw a deep pass over 30 yards even when your receiver is already past the secondary as the receiver will slow down and the safety and cornerback speed up to get to the spot of the ball and swat it down. This shouldn't happen when the receiver is Steve Smith of the Panthers.

-Wildcat formations are almost unstoppable.

-The new fight for the fumble feature sucks. Two of my guys would land on the ball, but I would lost the fumble recovery because I lose at mashing buttons in the mini game.

-Playstation Network and EA works on their servers quite a bit which make online play unavailable for a few hours which is annoying as this is the best feature in madden.

-That's all I can think of right now.

Conclusion

I bought this game hoping it would be a big improvement from 2005. I was incredibly disappointed. If you really want to spend 55 dollars for a stripped down version of Madden 10 for the roster update, go right ahead. You can spend an extra 20 bucks on DLC to give you features that were in previous versions, but it's not worth it. But if you're a person who really cares about quality, then you'll be just as disappointed as I am. I refuse to buy another Madden game until there is more substance to this series. This won't happen until competition returns to the NFL games. Ever since the NFL gave EA the exclusive license to make their games, there hasn't been any competition and therefore much innovation. EA can just keep releasing the same game year after year and nobody will really care because they have no other NFL games to compete with, but I am going to make a stand to boycott EA games until they release a game of some real substance. This probably won't happen until 2014 since EA's exclusivity contract with the NFL runs up until that time.

This is by far the WORST Madden I've ever played. The controls are absolutely unresponsive and clunky. When attempting to move players, they often do not respond to the buttons pressed. When on defense, pressing dive to tackle your player will do one of three things: he won't do anything, he will literally fall straight down, or if you're lucky 1 out of 10 times he'll actually dive. And don't even try to intercept the ball on your own. If you can actually get your player to respond to your button mashing, the ball will just bounce off your helmet anyways. Also, you know how the computer takes over your player if you don't press anything? In this version of Madden, you're CONSTANTLY fighting the cpu from taking over your character. Especially on defense. If you want to run one direction, you better make sure it's the exact same direction as your route because the cpu automatically starts making your character run in that predetermined route after the snap NO MATTER WHAT. And in the time it takes your player to slow down, stop, and start running in the direction you want, you're already getting burned.

The "realistic" slowed down play sucks. It's not realistic. It's sluggish. The graphics are great, but EXTREMELY glitchy. Props disappear and reappear during cut scenes. A guy will be talking on the phone and all of a sudden it will just disappear from their hand. WTF? And why does every character look like the corners of their mouths have been sewed shut when they talk?

I could go on and on, but I won't. I hated this game. I've loved the Madden franchise for a long time, but this is a waste of money and time. Maybe you won't agree with me. Maybe you'll love it. I'd suggest renting it though before you play it so you can judge for yourself.

Want Madden NFL 10 Discount?

Do something, do anything. For three years, the Madden franchise has been painfully stagnant. Probably four, but Madden '06 was the first Madden game I had played since 2002. That's not to say I didn't try the other Maddens. They were tremendously inferior products to the 2K Games that Sega was pumping out and it only took a few games to see why. The presentation made you feel like you were watching the game on TV, great, for it's time, commentary, creative cut scenes and animations, gang tackles in 2003, and graphics so real, you'd mistake what was on your TV for a true broadcast. Madden, to this day, has lagged behind, only adding gang tackles recently, trying a failed "rewind" feature that infuriated even it's most loyal supporters, and only this year have they added in game cut scenes to add to the realism.

To this day, NFL 2K5 remains the benchmark for sports games. Madden 10 deserves a spot on the team, but still likely play on the scout team.

First, what are the positives with this game?

-Greatly improved graphics. Madden '09 seemed like simply a retexture of '08 which inturn seemed like a retexture of '07. Madden '09 added almost nothing new with the exception of the previously discussed rewind feature. Yuck.

-In-game cutscenes. Finally! It only took them six, maybe seven years to realize how this adds to the gameplay. NFL 2K5 found the perfect balance of what to add and what to avoid. Madden 10 has great timing with cutscenes, but they also get repetitive fast and there are some issues where you see the back of the crowd animation instead of the players. Still, nice addition, but why did it take them so long?

-Two man commentary. Another overdue "feature". Who thought one man commentary was a good idea?

-Slowed down game play. I see a recurring trend. The addition of "features" that were in the competitor's game years and years later. Also, another thing NFL 2K5 did well. This kills the high, high, high scoring games.

-Better blocking. The ability of your linemen actually matter in this game. It's about time.

-Taking time of the clock as you skip ahead. A real nice feature for exhibition games. This is one of the few features I haven't seen in a football game before.

-Updated rosters. Hell, I was playing with '08 until now.

But there are negatives. A few of them.

-The "new" features aren't really that new. Most of the features touted as new in this game were actually all in NFL 2K5, and most were in NFL 2K3. Unfortunately, the lack of competition allowed Madden to lower expectations and produce games that often are stripped of features that previous Madden had. Examples include the 7 man gang tackle and the in-game cutscenes. I wouldn't have had a problem with this had they been better than 2K5's, but they weren't.

-Lot of graphic flaws and errors. In two games, I had more players arms go through torsos and crowds block out cutscenes than playing any other game.

-Online franchise is here! Wait, you have to pay for it? Nevermind.

-Music. Generally, sports games have terrible soundtracks. MLB The Show '07 was an incredible game, but the soundtrack hurts the complete experience. I can't really fault Madden 10 for this, as the only sports game that I played that I actually enjoyed the soundtrack was MVP '04, which included "My Coco", "Walkie Talkie Man", and, um, "Hey Driver". Ok, so two out of three ain't bad. Still, "Bullgod" by Kid Rock? What? Seriously Madden?

So what's the final verdict? As many faults as Madden 10 has, it has its moments. The graphics are great, when they aren't obscured, and the game plays a lot better than last year's, even if the changes were due years ago. I would give this Madden a 7 out of 10, but for Amazon, I'll round up to 4 out of 5 stars. It's a good game, but the fact that I'd almost rather play a game that came out in the summer of 2004 to get my football fix, knocks it down a few pegs.

I wish there had been some reviews about this guitar before I bought it. I was desperately in search of a new guitar that could play on both Guitar Hero and Rockband (for under $50) So I was excited to see this one. But to my disappointment when I received it, it was not what I was expecting. The guitar is a little "flimsy" but the worst part about it, is the clicking noise it makes when you strum. It was so distracting we couldn't focus on what we were playing. I will be returning this.

It works just fine, but it's not very good quality. The strum bar clicks when you use it, which is both good and bad. The buttons feel like you could break them easily if you really started "rockin' out". It is imported from Canada, thereby the included warranty is not enforceable as it pertains to Canadian customers. It looks nice, and plays fine, just don't expect it to last too long.

I originally wanted to get something to protect the carpet while sliding the unit in and out of the way, and I thought this would look cleaner than a Home Depot DIY special. I am really glad I purchased this, as it really is a high quality item (edge Stitched, embroidered, and rubberized bottom) Because the bottom is textured rubber I can't just pull the carpet to move the whole rig, but the clean look and the fact that it protects my Berber carpet from getting picked would cause me to buy it again.

Why did I give it 4 out of 5? It's not a required toy, more a nice to have. Quality and Value is 5 out of 5

I tried various mats and foam pads but none gave such a matching look as this mat for the Playseat (duh). I am using it to prevent scratches of moving my Playseat on the hardwood.

Previous reviews indicated this mat slides on the bottom and not good for securing on hardwood. My order came and it's made to not slide at all. So apparently improvements were made.

In my case, I actually need it to slide on the bottom. It's on hardwood, but when not using it's placed on the side. When ready to put in use, I have to slide it in position. With non-slide bottom, the seat just slide off the mat. So I got four flat head (1" diameter) screws to secure the mat to the seat, and cover the flat head with round chair pads that can slide.

There are alternatives but they are usually not perfect fit or color matched. A good mat are not cheap either. So if you are buying a good mat, this is worth serious consideration.

I bought this mat because my Playseat Rig is in a room with a hardwood floor. I was a little apprehensive about purchasing the product because of it's price. The first thing I noticed when I unrolled the mat was that it was not cut straight it has more of a rhomboid shape rather than a rectangular shape. Other than that it does its job of damping sound and vibrations from the Playseat rig. It has the design of an oversized automotive floor mat which is quite nice and solidly put together; if only it weren't so poorly cut I might be able to make an argument for its price. If you are apprehensive because of the price, like I was, I suggest you pass on this product. A section of carpet or rubber mat will do the same job for a lot less.

The MW3-branded Foxtrot is nothing more than re-packaged PX21 by Turtle Beach. The PX21 is also a universal headset (Xbox360, PS3, PC), despite being labeled as "PS3 headset" on Amazon. This is a good headset, and pretty easy to setup and use, but unless you're really into the MW3 logos and green coloring, save yourself $40 and get the Turtle Beach PX21's. Same exact thing. The PX21 would get 4 stars for being above average headsets at a good price. The MW3 Foxtrot loses a star just because it does the same and costs more.

After going through several stock Microsoft headsets, I finally decided to get something a bit more durable what I ended up getting is the Limited Edition Turtle Beach MW3 Foxtrot Headset.

Out of the box, I was pretty quickly satisfied with the design and the feel of it. It's well-made, yet lightweight. Hook-up is also quite simple, but if you need instructions, they're there for you. As this thing is wired, it doesn't take batteries; it simply plugs into one of the USB ports on your 360.(I recommend the one in the back, just because. Well. It's in the back.)

On the cord, there's a little box that allows you to adjust game sound, chat sound, toggle mute, adjust bass, and this thing that says "Expander" ... I'm ignorant as to what this thing is supposed to be, all I know is that when you turn it to on, you get a bit more static than when it's off, doing nothing from what I can tell other than lowering the audio quality. There's also a little 360 controller on the box, which is where you plug in the little included adapter cord, so you can talk to people over Xbox LIVE.

It's really quite incredible what a solid headset does for you how much it changes the game. You really have to hear it to believe it. While this isn't the absolute best headset on the market, or the cheapest, it's not too bad at the price of about $100. While this headset doesn't have Dolby 7.1, it has "amplified stereo," as well as an awesome thing I mentioned above the bass boost. This thing makes the headset all-the-more worth it. Turn this up, and any game you're playing instantly becomes better. In Call of Duty or Battlefield, every shot you fire from your gun rattles your eardrums ever-so nicely, as does a nice big explosion. Perhaps even better, is using this headset while playing Rock Band or the good ol' defunct DJ Hero never has the music sounded so good. And of course, the bass just makes it better.

Another thing that's included with the Foxtrot Headset is "chat boost." The chat boost is a built-in thing that is supposed to adjust the volume in the people you're talking to's voice, to the sound in-game. While this is great in theory, I've had issues with it. While playing Modern Warfare 3, I had the game volume about 3/4 of the way up, and chat at half way. Seemingly randomly, the chat would suddenly get incredibly loud, so I'd turn it down. After doing so, it was so quiet, I couldn't hear anybody to talk. I had to do this over and over again, and it resulted in quite a bit of frustration. What I have noticed is that the lower your bass boost, the less likely this will happen. Regardless, it seems unavoidable if you're chatting with people, and it can be either a minor annoyance, or an ear-bleeding hell of an experience.

So... would I recommend this headset? Yes. Are there other and better, cheaper options? Yes. The main reason why I really prefer this headset to other Turtle Beaches, is that it just looks nice with its sleek design. I should also let you know that even though this says it's a Modern Warfare 3 headset, the only spot you can really sense that it's a Call of Duty headset is on the box on the cord, where it says Call of Duty MW3, and on the top of the headset itself, where it has Call of Duty pressed in. Overall, it's just aesthetically pleasing all-around, and the audio quality isn't too shabby either.

+: That brand new "out of the box" smell, solid sound quality, bass boost, looks pretty cool.

-: Cord is pretty freakishly long, the chat boost has its issues, may not be the best option for the price it is shop around first.

UPDATE 2/29/12: Well, after a little under two months of owning this headset, it randomly broke without warning. I put it on one day, and I was just getting cutting-in-and-out sound from both sides of the headphones. I had to go down to Best Buy to return them. Unfortunately, they don't sell these there anymore, so I settled with the X12's. While I really loved how this headset looked, sounded, and felt, I can't give it a 4 when it's as fragile as this is. Also, in case you're thinking I'm just one unlucky person, one of my friends had the same exact thing happen to him just a few days later. (same headset without the MW3 logo/colorscheme)

First off, I say a decent buy because the Foxtrot's are basically re-skinned PX-21's with Call of Duty stamped in the headband. You can save yourself $20 or $30 if you can live without the Call of Duty edition. Also the left ear has started going out, it'll crackle and sometimes completely cut off the audio. For this I recommend the wireless ones.

I never imagined surround sound making THAT big of a difference in game quality and my play performance. These are considered the low-end turtle beaches, I can't even fathom what the $300 sets sound like. The bass boost basically amplifies footsteps of enemies. I can hear them at least 20 feet away and react by the time they round the corner. Even if people are camping, I can hear them reloading. With this headset, everyone is an easy target. Battlefield is no different, you can run but you can't hide. Turtle Beaches are just sick in general. Assassin's Creed Revalations I can hear people two or three buildings over and hunt them down with ease. Need for Speed and Forza I can distinguish which side they are trying to pass me on and cut in front.

The mic is great too. Crystal clear but loud as hell. Put it away from your face a good bit and don't yell. You don't wanna make your teammates' ears bleed.

I had a ton of fun with this game. My Navigation controller finally got some real use.

What this game is is a collection of over 50 "challenges". These challenges aren't minigames as others have been claiming. You have full control of your character and each of these challenges takes 3-4 minutes to complete. They all have a secret item you can find to unlock different costumes, and have bronze silver gold ratings. Replay value is great if you want to get all of these things.

The Move controls work very well. I found that bowling, tossing discs, the whip, and the gun to work the best. The glowing ball on top of the Move even changes color to match the color of your weapon. The Move controls are really fun to use, and I don't think this game would have been half as fun with a standard controller.

The graphics are some of the best looking on the PS3. The in game environments are all vibrant and have excellent lighting. The character models all look great. And all of the original voice actors are back. The pre-rendered story cutscenes all look great too.

Overall, I found this to be a remarkably fun PS Move game. Note that I did not try the multiplayer at all. I am a fan of both the Ratchet and Sly franchises (I've never played a Jak game), and I thought their treatment in this game did them justice. I think that the people who are most disappointed with this game are those who thought it would be a sequel to these franchises. Instead it is a fun spinoff game with a really cool collaboration. I recommend this game to people with the Move and I also recommend getting a Nav controller as well.

With all the famous PS3 duo's on the front cover of the game, you'd expect a nice co-op game to be played with a friend... not really. The first person gets to control the actual character while the 2nd person controls a hand/target on the screen. They are merely there to "help" the first player which isn't all that easy since the first player controls the screen and the camera movements. I wasn't expecting a platforming game by any means but I did expect two players to be able to run and do all the fun mini games together. The graphics and gameplay are nice enough, I just wanted a game to play with friends and this is not that game.

First of all , this is the first playstation move game , I played. The game was really fun.

But the play time for the game is really short. I was able to finish the game in 6 hours which is really short. I remember when I played Jak 3 which took my several weeks to complete. I really expected much more episodes and a better story. This price is too much for such a short game.

Last year on E3, they announced playstation move heroes, as heroes on the move. The game has come a long way since the demo and the release. I found the demo to be a bit laggy with the swings and movements using the whip. As seeing the final product and testing it, I have to admit it has come a long way and enjoyed it. Now You get to play as your favorite hero or sidekick.

Introduction to the game:

The intro video has to be one of the most interesting things of the game as we get to see the characters from their perspective world fighting and battling evil beings, and rescuing their companions.

Character voices and appearances:

After hearing their voices and details, I have to say I am extremely pleased with how they look and sound. The level of nostalgia is huge, especially considering that jak and daxter is the only series not to have crossed over to the ps3, however there are games which have words and precursor orbs appear in the Uncharted series. Most to all the character voices are the same or similar to their original series.

Storyline:

As this game is a spin off it's understandable for this game to somewhat follow the storyline of the game with different parts. However the characters do feel a bit confusing by their powers and looks. Daxter is a perfect example.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is interesting with perfect use of the move controllers. Although there can be a small moment of lag, and depending on your position, some of the move triggers might not work effectively. However that could have been me, since I wasn't at the designated 6 to 8 feet. (lack of space.)The gameplay is simple but well worth to play.

Graphics:

The game being a resolution of 720p, (to me graphics don't matter) really makes it look outstanding. The characters have their natural colors from the previous games and the levels look exactly like the other games from the ps2 and the ps3.

Final note:

As I've only played just about 2 to 3 hours of the game, I will not give it a final review until I play everything. However for now I like the game. The characters, the details of the game and the gameplay really help this game to be one of the best spinoff games ever made.

Heroes on the move gets a 4 out of 5.*

*Review might change when I finish it giving my own personal thoughts about it.

Want Playstation Move Heroes (Motion Control) Discount?

There's not much to say about this game. As a fan of all three franchises that this game brings together, I didn't get anything that I hoped for. All of the characters are there in high-res, which is nice, but the game doesn't live up to its potential. The multiplayer is pointless, since it only gives the second player a cursor which they can use to collect points and such as the first player does the task at hand. Speaking of the tasks at hand, they're basically gimmicks to have an excuse to have PS Move requirement. Don't get me wrong, the game does have its share of fun times but in the end its a sad let-down, especially if you love the characters that it brings together Sorry if this seems vague, but the game plays the same way this review does. Short, simple, and not what it really could have been.

This is a convenient way to have 3 great games on one blu-ray disc. I traded in both the GTA IV disc and the Episodes disc and got enough money to buy this disc on a Lightning deal.

When the disc loads up, you are presented with a choice of which game you want to play.

This product *IS* compatible with any game saves you may have if you've played either of the other stand-alone discs.

If you are playing GTA IV, and want to play TBOGT, you need to exit the game and restart it and choose TBOGT. There is no way to "fast switch" between the 3 games.

Summary: If you have yet to purchase GTA IV and the Episodes, this product is all you need and the price is right.

Long time fans of Grand Theft Auto know that each of the games in the post-PS1 era is thematically linked to a particular genre of movie. GTA III is heavily indebted to Mafia movies such as Goodfellas and The Godfather, as well as to the cable television series The Sopranos. Vice City is clearly influenced by Miami Vice and Scarface, while San Andreas draws a great deal of inspiration from Colors and Boyz N the Hood.

GTA IV-The Complete Edition carries on this tradition by transforming Grand Theft Auto IV into an homage to Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon. As in Kurosawa's film, a set of events is seen from multiple points of view, leaving the player to decide which perspective he or she believes is the most credible. Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, and Luis Lopez, the main characters, each bring a different experience and interpretation to GTA IV's story line. Niko is an immigrant, forced to assimilate and adapt rapidly to a world completely new to him. Johnny is caught in a classic master versus apprentice situation. Luis, who is the only character with any kind of insider status, must choose between building his future and honoring his past.

These are all familiar character situations in videogames, of course, but Rockstar creates deeper and richer stories and characters than most other game developers. The majority of games stick to the bare rudiments of character motivation and development. Rockstar has given us THREE strong stories in the GTA IV series, each with a complex and compelling main character. It was ambitious of Rockstar to release Niko's view of the story first, in isolation, without any indication of what was to come later. Many of the events in the Niko version of the story, in fact, aren't fully explained until the Luis and Johnny episodes. Compare that to the usual rote or clichéd story arcs found in too many games, even multi-episode games. There are a few studios that consistently produce well-written games in addition to Rockstar--Bungie, Valve, and Kojima Productions are three standouts--but the vast majority treat story and plot as afterthoughts.

Story and influences aside, the bigger question is whether or not GTA IV and the two Episodes are fun to play. The answer is YES, even though it is clear that Rockstar devoted a lot more development time to Luis' episode than it did to Johnny's episode. TLAD feels somewhat stripped down and is similar to GTA III in many ways. You'll spend most of your time following the main story, driving or riding to combat missions. If you fully explored Liberty City in Niko's episode, there isn't a whole lot to discover or do that you haven't already experienced. On the other hand, TBOGT contains a much broader variety of missions, side activities, and minigames. Most players will spend more time with TBOGT than with TLAD--but now that they're both part of this value priced disc, it's no big deal. The important thing is to play the series in the order in which it was released (GTA IV then TLAD then TBOGT). If you don't, you'll miss out on properly experiencing how the full story unfolds.

Well worth picking up.

I finally got a PS3 a few months ago and knew from the hype this was a game to get no disappointments here. And with the other two games included in the pack (you load the game and the first menu you get to is which game you want to play) it's well worth the money.

The game is obviously good enough (just look at the reviews like GTA: SA, it's an open world where you can drive around and do what you want) that I figure I'll put down a few minor things that were of note for me personally (may be different for others).

I did set my controls (as is an easy option to do) to the "classic" setting, where 'X' is accelerate, square is break, circle is e-brake, etc., since I found immediately I just could not get down using the top R and L buttons to drive.

For me, the camera view gets frankly really irritating at times when you're driving it doesn't quickly center itself, and you have to double-tap I think select or some other button to get it to do so. So when you're, say, in the middle of a mission and a guy you're chasing hangs a hard right, sometimes it's hard to have the proper depth perception to be able to follow him properly until you're able to get around the corner. You may end up hitting a parked car, for instance.

I did miss the "car customization" shops GTA: SA had. Also there are three different clothing shops total, and the area comparable to Manhattan and Times Square pretty much just looked nice but there wasn't much you could do other than drive around it. I mean San Andreas had little hidden spots where you could play basketball, more obvious spots where you could gamble in casinos, and was massive enough you had to fly to get places faster, for better or worse. It was those small little things where you could interact with that blew me away in GTA: SA but where there aren't as much in this game.

You can visit strip clubs, bars, a comedy show, and play pool though. It's kind of like they got rid of the tiny little intricacies and hidden treasures and turned them into fewer but more grand of activities, which I guess showcases the power of the PS3 more, but at the expense of tiny little nuanced aspects. There are some amazing-for-being-in-a-video-game tv episodes you can watch, and the internet feature was somewhat cool. I also do like the taxi option of being able to get around much much quicker. That was nice.

One thing of note is if you want to explore the map, as you obviously should, you will want to go to the cell phone and turn the missions off, otherwise you will continue getting inundated with phone calls. I don't like talking nonstop on my cell phone in real life, so it's even more irritating to be trying to do something and get calls from random characters wanting to yak and if you dare ignore the call, then you lose respect points.

Frankly I have not even gotten to the other two "Grand Theft Auto filler games" as I think of the smaller games released between GTA: San Andreas and GTA4, and these two, but I imagine they're the standard fare: more linear and smaller than the main game, but still enjoyable in their own right.

So those are not even necessarily CONS as much as just things I noted for myself slightly irked me. But all-in-all, still an amazing game. Maybe not quite as all-around perfect as San Andreas, but still amazing.

Want Grand Theft Auto IV & Episodes from Liberty City: The Complete Edition Discount?

Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition comes with the 2008 release Grand Theft Auto IV, as well as the originally download content from 2009 The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.

For under $40, you cannot go wrong with this purchase. With three games in one, you will get a lot of playime that makes it worth every buck spent on it.

If you have both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, I recommend getting the PS3 version simply because all three games come in one disc, unlike the X360 version which comes with two discs; One for GTA IV and the other for TLaD and BoGT. It is not a deal breaker if you only own an X360 however. So either way, this game is simply worth the purchase!

Now as for the fun factor, compared to all other previous Grand Theft Auto releases, I found GTA IV and TLaD to be rather lacking. Don't get it wrong, all of these games are very polished and worth playing, but compared to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas, they are simply not as fun. The graphics are much better here, but there is also less stuff to do and it gives you less incentive to keep playing after you beat the main storyline. However, Ballad of Gay Tony was a step forward from the other two GTA IV iterations, as I found every mission to be very fun in this one. But again, once you finish the main storyline, there is not much to do.

Overall, despise these three games not being as good as VC or SA (in my opinion!), I recommend all of you GTA fans to get this release. They are all still very fun and for the price, you can't refuse!

This is a very fun game. I got this for my kids for Christmas because it was on clearance for like $5.00 and seemed like a really good deal since it included drum kit. Even though the reviews were not so great, at least the box was big and parents have to make those holiday dollars go as far as we can. I don't play games much, but I admit that there has been more than one day go by where Daddy stayed home and played this to the point of a nice set of drum stick calluses on his hands.

I wanted to make this review to correct what I see as invalid criticism in a lot of the reviews. Of all the negative things I've read in the reviews of this game, the only thing that I think is valid is the complaints about the graphics. Yes, its true that the graphics are not as great as they are on some of the Guitar Hero games ( we have several of them now ). But the graphics are not so bad that it distracts from the game play or makes it less entertaining. Yes, the music tracks are covers and not the original bands, but they do not sound bad or anything and for the most part they are played in a similar style.

One thing that I think is very important that you might be interested in is the quality of the drum controller. I think you will be very pleased with the drum controller, in comparison to other drum controllers, I think Konami's is head and shoulders above the rest. Its a very nice controller, its sturdy and seems to have very nice build quality. Other controllers I have played with seem "cheap" in comparison.

I think that if you are only shopping for a controller, you would do well to choose this game. The game software is not as good perhaps as various versions of Guitar Hero, but it is not nearly as bad as other reviews would lead you to believe. Its very entertaining, not only to play but just to sit around and watch the kids play it is a blast!

I would have to say that this game is a good game if it was 2005-2006, but it is not. It is 2008-2009. I feel that this game could have been an awesome game, but Konami did not do a good job with the audio or video. Using poor cover songs and poor graphics. Again if this was 2005 or 2006, it would be a non-issue, but it is not. It's 2008-2009. The game should have had the same quality video and audio of Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. The concept of the game is solid, but not well executed. This game is really designed to be a drummer game with the option to play guitar or bass. If you would like to play a drummer hero game that is about the same quality as Guitar Hero 1, then this game is worth trying. I think that if they have a Rock Revolution 2, they need to resolve these issues.

If you want to know if you need you buy just the game for $20.00 or if you need to buy the game w/drum kit for about $70.00, use this URL from a competing game to verify if your existing drums or guitar/bass are compatible.

I got this product as it came out in october, and now i see it has dropped drastically in price. now you can pick up the set for around[..] for drums and game, or about 20 for the game itself. Although the songs are cover tunes, they still rock. the drum play is awesome with 7 drums and a huge challenge. They are the most realistic drum play though. Great mix of songs as well. Not quite as fancy as Rockband or Guitar hero world tour, but a nice little value edition for some at home fun. check it out.

Ok i thought this would be better then Guitar Hero and Rock Band... I WAS TOTALLY WRONG!!! First song i played was a cover so i was Ok its just 1 cover. Second song a cover then I was like Ok a second cover... Then the third song was a COVER!!! So i was like WTF!! so I went on wiki and it said its has 41 songs on the disk and only 2 songs are the real versions... so 39 songs are COVERS!!! and there are only about 10 songs to download from the Playstion store... Xbox live marketplace and the Wii shop... and GUESS WHAT!!! ONLY ABOUT 4 OR 5 are THE REAL SONGS!!! So they totally screwed up this product... oh and this game don't support VOCALS!!! so you cant sing in the GAME!!! I like the drum set... in my opinion this drum set is my favorite drum set so i think you should try out the drum set out. i think you should get Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour.

I've been waiting for this game for a while and this game was near impossible to find, but I finally found a copy and got to play for the first time last night. It follows the along the same model of the original The Way of the Samurai. There are tons of swords and fighting styles, that will keep you enthralled for hours upon hours, and once you find that certain sword/style that fits you, you can learn new techniques and level the sword so you can become the ultimate assassin, protector, or just plain ole bad a**. This game is full of action around every turn, and the best concept is that you can choose which path you want to take, if you want to become a rich samurai you can join the fujimori clan, or you can be a sole wanderer a ronin,or you can protect the citizens of a poor city who are being heavily taxed, or you can plot against the fujimori clan and join the ouika clan who are a bunch of thieves and robbers, and the beauty of it is it's all up to you which path you choose. The fighting in this game is superb, depending on which sword you use that is the fighting style used, or you can fight bare handed which is pretty fun as well. I thoroughly enjoyed and am still enjoying this game, if this game sounds like something you might like, or if your like me, I really enjoy old samurai movies especially Akira Kurosawa films, you'll love this game. One of my favorite things about this game is one of the faces you can choose for your samurai looks almost exactly like Toshiro Mifune. In all I give this game a 5 out of 5. Maybe more, this is possibly one of my favorite games of the year.

Way of the Samurai 3 is an open-world game styled like an old-school samurai film. In some ways, it lives up to the standards of the series; in others, it overextends itself.

In WOTS3, you play as a wandering samurai caught in the kingdom of Amana during the Warring States period. There are several factions you can choose to ally yourself with: the powerful Fujimori clan, the rural Ouka clan, or the oppressed farmers of Takatane. The game has an open world, so you can wander around doing what you want doing jobs and gaining the trust of the various factions to accomplish something in the world, or just spending your time picking fights and upgrading your sword. The game is meant to be played many times it's short, but there are so many variations in the endings that it's clearly meant to be replayed over and over.

WOTS3 offers you more influence in the world than previous games. While WOTS1 and WOTS2 both allowed you a wide variety of choices as to your behavior in the world, in terms of who you could kill and where you could go, you were severely limited. In WOTS3, anyone can be killed at any time as long as you can get to them. It's possible to draw your sword during almost any cutscene in the entire game; if you want to, you can just cut a bloody swath through every important character, take their stuff, and leave.

On the flipside, if you're actually trying to accomplish something and get a good ending, it's important to be more diplomatic. WOTS3 offers two different concessions to the idea of peace. The first of these is the ability to apologize; in previous games, if you accidentally drew your sword, you had to fight or run away. In WOTS3, it's possible to attempt to reconcile and avoid fighting, which can be crucial if you've spent all your time building up trust with one clan and almost ruin it accidentally. The other new feature is the ability to attack non-lethally; you can defeat an enemy, but they won't be killed permanently. Since every single character in the game is persistent in the world, this can be important if a necessary character picks a fight with you and won't accept your surrender. You may find it necessary to fight back, but also to keep the person alive.

The swordfighting system feels slightly less refined than in WOTS2, but it makes up for it with improved customization. Like previous games, there are a few basic styles that swords can be used in, as well as some exotic options like ninja swords and iaijutsu. WOTS3 changes a few things as far as weapons go. Spears have been added to the game, to go with the more medieval tone of the setting. Additionally, dual-wielding now involves two actual swords, rather than one "sword" that's actually a set of two. Finally, you now have the option to create your own swords or spears from parts that can be found or bought in the game world. These weapons have their stats determined by the parts you use, so saving all your best parts to build a super high-quality sword is usually a good idea.

As gameplay goes, the most annoying part in comparison to other games in the series is how disconnected everything feels. The story is moved along through "inklings", which show up on your map occasionally to let you know to go to a certain area. However, many of these inklings are non-intuitive. For example, while playing as a member of the Fujimori clan, I ended up at a dead end where nothing was happening. As it turned out, I had to go join the rival Ouka clan, then immediately leave. It made no sense and felt really awkward. The jobs you have to do to gain faction approval are a pain, too. Some of them are ok go here, kill one guy. Others have you hunting around the map for a hidden person or item, many of whom won't show up due to bugs or bad programming. In one case, I found two of three people that I needed to find, and couldn't find the last one no matter where I looked. I then left the map and came back; when I returned, the third person was sitting in a place that I had definitely checked before.

Another gameplay gimmick added is the presence of "partners" romantic interests for your samurai to pursue. These partners have no role in the main gameplay; rather, you have to go out looking for them and fulfill whatever requirements they have for you to "recruit" them. For example, one partner threatens to attack you to avenge her dead father (she has mistaken you for his killer), and to recruit her you must apologize to her rather than fighting back. Another shows up only at midnight, and can be hired as a bodyguard for the night. However, these partners are more annoying than helpful some offer small advantages, like remote access to your weapons safe and so on, but they all run much slower than you do and you'll be forced to constantly stop to let them catch up, or just walk everywhere. There are some mini-games you can do that require you to have a partner, and if you hang out with a partner long enough they can become a romantic interest, but other than that there's really not that much they're good for. Overall, they're just a pain.

The game's graphical quality varies pretty wildly people and weapons are done pretty well, but the environmental textures are bland and unappealing. The main character especially is good at expressing emotion, but the buildings look really fake and the maps are lined with invisible walls and other issues that seem really silly to still have in 2009. Despite some improvements, as a whole WOTS3 is not a graphically impressive game it's not quite as bad as last-gen, but it's not up to the standards of current generation graphics.

The sound design in the game is similarly varied in quality. The music is interesting and atmospheric. The voice work in Japanese is pretty good, but the English dub is lazy and not even worth bothering with. Thankfully, the game provides both English and Japanese as options. There's a really weird bug with voices, though, which is that the volume of a person's voice is based on the camera's proximity to the speaker not based on the character's proximity. The result is that, because it's a third-person game, you won't be able to hear anyone unless you swing the camera around so that the person speaking is right in front of you. It's really weird and annoying and just ruins the experience.

As a whole, WOTS3 is an ambitious game, and I can respect that. However, it's so sloppily put together that the few areas where it is fun are overshadowed by repetitive tasks and shoddy development. It's a good example of combining story and gameplay, but in terms of being a fun game it's kind of lacking.

Rating: 6/10.

Although the game has everything I expected, the lack of the tutorial ensured a costly error within the first 5 minutes of game play. I was prompted to press the L1 button when some farmers arrived and they ran off, thinking i was out to kill them for no reason. Other than that early mistake, and the immensely corny dialogue that was so very rampant in the first 2 games, the game play ends up being a lot of fun. you can choose from three paths now, Good, Evil, or you can take a diplomatic route and avoid combat entirely. All around this is a great game, just read the instructions before you play. There is also free Downloadable Content on the Playstation network. Worth checking out over all I would say $40-$50 is a fair price for this game.

I've played WOTS2 and although it was great at the start, the time limit and strange save system drove me crazy that I decided I was not going to play WOTS games ever. When I read that WOTS3 had no time limit and the save system was "fixed", I decided to give this game a chance. I'm glad I did.

You start out walking off a bloody battle, wounded and confused. You encounter two villagers. At this point, it's all in your hands what you wish to do. Kill the two villagers or let them help you. Your choice. The game can end in 15 minutes if you choose to or you play the game for hours on end. Currenlty, I am playing it for 10 hours now.

The gameworld is small, about 8 villages I think set in a province, pre-Meiji period. But don't be disappointed about the small gameworld. There are lots of things to be done in each of the villages; from running simple errands, to setting up ambushes, joining samurai clans, or just picking a fight on a villager. There are consequences to every action you take. So be careful what you do. You can beat up an opponent without killing him/her. WOTS3 introduced a "blunt" system whereby you use the blunt edge of the sword to pummel the baddie or goodie into submission. Killing a person in game affects the entire flow of the game, so be careful on who you pounce. Oh...and during combat and there's a bystander, and you accidentally hit the person with a sword, that bystander will either run, die, or join in the melee. You cannot turn off "friendly fire" in this game. Everyone, except the livestock and children, can be killed anytime, at any point.

Although I am not that familiar with different katanas/bokkens in Japan. Most, if not, all the weapons in the game seem to be authentic or based on real authentic weapons. There are no ninja-gaiden type weapons in this game. Also, the weapons gain levels not the person. So the weapons grows in level as you use it. At the same time, the weapon gains different stances (I think) that you can employ on your character. The game reportedly has 20 endings. I have not beaten the game yet, I am taking my time doing quests and just walking around villages waiting for a fight. The game randomly throws in a samurai or two to ambush you in broad daylight or in the evening. So...be ready to unsheath your sword or yoou'll get sliced and diced fast. By the way, during cutscenes the game will give you a choice to unsheath your weapon (a sign of aggression) or apologize (a sign of submission) or just let the cutscene run by itself. In other words, you can actually shift the cutscene to a different story line simply by drawing or apologizing while the cutscene runs.

For the most part, the NPCs in the game seem to be authentic in their costumes although you'll find a few weird looking costumes that are more anime than authentic. The villages look authentic for it's period. The language in-game can be either english or Japanese. I went for the Japanese language to give it a more samurai feel to the game.

Now comes the saving part. Well...here's what I do. I save my game often. There are what you call village minstrels who you can speak to and have them save your game. They are all over the map so don't worry about not finding locations to save. From what I've noticed, every village has a minstrel that you can save your game. When you save your game, your entire inventory and status is saved, including your current location. Now if you get killed or complete the game, you will get a screen showing you how many samurai points you've earned at the end game. Another screen will then pop up and ask you if you wish to save the results or not. Here's the trick: If you decide to save the results. The game will reset back from the beginning but it will still have all your items, money, etc you've earned intact and complete..so basically you won't be starting from scratch as a dirt poor samurai. But the entire storyline starts from scratch again. This gives you an opportunity to take a different approach to the game. If on the other hand you decide not to save the results, the game will take you back to your LOAD GAME screen, and you can pick up from where you last saved before you were killed. I believe the only time you can see how much samurai points you've earned is when the game ends either by dying, completing one of the endings, or leaving the province of Amana (which you do by simply selecting Leave Amana on your map).

Do I like the game. Yes I love the game because of it's open ended approach. It gives me a sense of actually being a samurai and doing something that affects a person or a community. There are tons of "Samurai" games out there that walks the line between a fighting game and a comic-book rpg. DOn't get me wrong. I like fighting games and anime styled rpg games with samurais but WOTS3 brings the samurai to a more realistic and authentic level. Do I like the graphics? Well...to be honest I'm not easily blinded by eye-candy. I still go for the substance of the game. Graphics is like the least of my requirements when choosing a game. For my own standards (which I know isn't all that high or great), the graphics is next-gen. A lot of people are saying WOTS3 has ps2 graphics. I think they're wrong...or so that's what I think. BGM is a mix of authentic Japanese koto and shakuhachi music and some chill lounge music with a Japanese traditional feel to it.

All in all, it's a great game. It might not be for the trigger happy sword wielding gamers who want to hack and slash for hours. THis game takes patience. The game isn't hard in terms of dealing with NPCs. What makes the game difficult is making the right choice at the right time, and being able to face the consequences of your actions.

The idea is great, the product looks good and is convenient (when it works). After owning this for about a month and a half, the ps3 ports stopped working. The controllers were no longer being charged and the lights stopped working. The xbox ports are still functional however, (as of now, 3 months in). At this point it's a charger for my xbox controllers and a display stand for the ps3 controllers. I contacted the manufacturer but they have yet to get back to me.

Update:

The day after I wrote this review the company contacted me regarding the product. They were very professional, courteous and promptly replied to my emails. They shipped out a new product to me within a few days. This one is working as it should at me moment. I give this product 5 stars because of its functionality and the company provided a level of customer service that seemed to be lost in today's market. I would definitely purchase other products from them.

I purchased the Konnet Power Pyramid Charger from Amazon and received the delivery in the time frame promised. I needed a charger and an organizer and the item was perfect. It worked without issue until about a week ago. One of the PS3 charge slots simply stopped working and the LED light is inoperable. There was no indication that a problem even existed. It just simply won't charge. I checked to see if I could return it for a fully operational replacement however the return window closed just the day before. So I have three working charge ports, which will have to suffice, but I am really disappointed as I LIKED this product a lot and had recommended it to several friends who also purchased the pyramid charger. I expected better durability especially considering the cost. But as careful as I was inserting the controllers, I am stuck with a now less than desirable product. After all, the charge lights are cool and create a great ambiance, but without one working, it has lost a bit of that something special. I am reluctant to recommend or not recommend this product. On one hand, a cool product with serious functionality potential. On the other hand, a pricey toy that only lasted 10 weeks with two grown ups being very careful with its use. I couldn't imagine what a house full of kids might do to this. If you do buy this item, I hope you have better luck. It is almost a great product but I feel just a bit cheated because it WAS so cool for a while.

Update: I contacted Konnet via e-mail about a warranty replacement for this item. They were very courteous and accommodating. There were some minor hoops to jump through in order to satisfy their requirements to receive a replacement but nothing too frustrating. My initial contact with them was on 11 Feb 10 and I received to replacement item on 06 Mar 10. The entire ordeal consisted of 11 e-mails back and forth, re-packaging the item and mailing it at my expense (about $5 USPS), and waiting a couple of weeks for the replacement as it was shipped via "Air Mail" from Hong Kong. It would have been nice if the entire process was more streamlined but I give Konnet credit, they did exactly what they said they would do. I commend them for that. As a side note....I used the original PS3 charging method to maintain a charge for those two controllers. As for my XBox 360 controllers, I was prepared to simply use the "AA" battery compartment until I got the charging unit back but as it turns out, I was able to use them, frequently mind you, without ever having to charge them the entire time my Konnet Power Pyramid was in transit. One controller eventually lost charge but the second controller continued to hold a charge until the replacement charging device was received. I thought that was pretty cool. I use my XBox 360 about 4 times as much as my PS3. I have increased my star rating 1 star due to Konnet's customer service response.

this controller dock looks good, but is definitely overpriced. i purchased mine in "used like new" condition from amazon warehouse deals at a nice discount price and still think that was overpriced. it sure has style though...

with the charging cables gone from sight and the 4 controllers all in 1 storage space, the tv area looks much cleaner.

The Pyramid Looks Great and Kept all my controllers in one place but I have had to return it twice. The PS3 Slots break with in 3-6 months. It works Great for the X-Box 360 controllers and I Returned it with zero hassle to the Company and they did even want the old Pyramid back which tells me they know this model is defective. I give it two stars because the X-Box Part works very well and it cost about what I would have Paid for just a X-Box Charger. Don't waste your $$$$$
