WRC 2010 is a competent racing game that is designed for WRC fans. The games strong point is its focus on rally and mimicking the WRC virtually. The game includes the drivers, teams and countries from WRC 2010. It does not have replicas of real world stages, and it does not have 20 minute stages like the real world but what is provided is adequate. WRC 2010 includes all 13 countries each with 6 stages that are inspired by the real world counterparts.

The game comes with career mode, single player(think quickplay), multiplayer and challenges. It allows you to start your own career in rally and eventually compete against big names in WRC, P-WRC, S-WRC and J-WRC competitions. Career mode starts you off small with little horsepower, a few sponsors and racing in short events against unknown racers. Building a name for yourself and earning the right to race against Loeb in Career Mode will take some time, so fortunately you can hop right into any stage of any country in a separate single player mode. In single player mode you can compete in single races, single rallies or even customize your own championship. For example you can make a J-WRC Championship that takes place in 7 countries each with 3 stages. Outside of career mode you will not be able to use your custom driver; instead you will pick from drivers like Solberg or Block and use their cars and liveries. If you're like me you will pick Loeb and lose regularly, finally allowing Mikko Hirvonen a chance at a Championship victory.

Now on to stage length, unfortunately WRC does not have any 10 minute stages like Rallisport Challenge 2, but they are longer than some of the competitors. Dirt3 stages range between 1.5 and 3.5 minutes, where WRC stages are 2.5 to 5 minutes. Dirt3 has about 20 rally stages in 4 countries and WRC has 78 stages in 13 countries. WRC has a good amount of rally content for those who can get past the mediocre menu system and graphics.

The car graphics are good, but windows, mirrors and special effects look weak. Cars kick up plenty of dust and this looks ok but not stellar, what is nice is that the particles stay in the air a long time during replays unlike most off-road games. The environments are good but not as good as the competition. Foliage and trees don't seem dense enough while mountains and hills occasionally show off their limited geometry. Also the graphics engine seems unable to draw objects in 3D very far into the distance even on very high end computers. Even with the visual issues, the game looks good enough to play and each country has unique styling and personality so it is a treat to travel to so many environments.

I use the Logitech Driving Force racing wheel and I find the force feedback in this game to be mild. Other racers definitely kick harder by default. The feedback that is provided seems accurate enough; you can almost feel the traction of your tires via the wheel it just feels subdued. Gravel and tarmac don't feel as different as I would expect either.

The controls are much closer to a Sim than arcade games like Dirt, at least when you take off all assists like I have. The high powered WRC cars need a sensitive touch off road; wreckless acceleration will cause you to spin out and braking too late will cause countless causalities. The front-wheel cars are quite easy to work with so I suggest you start there. The more powerful 4WD cars require concentration to keep them on the road but once you get comfortable with them it's hard to return to the slower junior cars.

While the damage system works in game, it does not seem realistic or punishing enough in many situations. For example in one race, I damaged my gearbox had a coolant leak and cracked something else so my car regularly made a strange sound. Third and fourth gear seemed longer than usual to switch but I was able to finish the stage with the best time. My car was so damaged that with the 60 minutes allotted to do repairs I could only fix half of the issues. I still got a stage win on the next stage as well, but I still had to listen to the strange sound.

I've read complaints about the co-pilots, but personally I find them good overall. In the options you can change pace note timing if you need. Playing with the hud off is enjoyable, focusing on verbal directions instead of a map is a fun challenge. The co-pilots do a good job of navigating you without the need for a map, arrows or even section times. It is not perfect mind you. But late directions are a rare occurrence. After stage splits the co-pilot informs you of your performance "They can't see us for dust", "We moved up a few places", "We are losing our lead" etc are colorful additions that might be annoying to some because you will hear them a lot.

When I got my PlayStation Move bundle I figured I was all set until I realized that charging two Dual Shock controllers and all of my Move equipment from one USB charger was going to be too much to keep everything properly charged. I went on the search for a charging dock and ran across some of the bigger name brands that ranged from $14 $25. Luckily, I found this for only a fraction of the price of the others on the market. The USB cord that's included can be connected from any USB port, which is double ended, I will explain that a bit more later. and ran into the charging dock, which snugly holds the controllers into the sunks as they charge. A blue ring lights up around the charger to indicate it's working, which also looks very stylish. Back to the double ended USB cord, about midway of the cord, it splits in half and the end that's doubled is the side that goes into the charging source, so it's the big end and doesn't really help charge any of the Move controllers, but the four ports available are enough to do what I need. So far, I've had no problem with getting them to charge and would recommend this product to anyone who needs to charge more than one Move controller simultaneously.

Had my Playstation 3 40 GB for more than 4 1/2 year and it still works like a charm this very day, but always hated when I had to delete something just to fit something new in. I decided to get the new slim model, I was gonna get the uncharted model but then the MW3 was announced and I swore I would never buy a COD again but this deal was too good to pass up cause you practically get the game free.

A very nice upgrade from my fat model, I like the nice matte finish than the traditional glossy for both the casing and the controller it feel nice and just looks great aswell. I though it would be hard to transfer everything I had on my 40 GB to the new system but it was actually very simple and didn't take that long to get it setup to how I had my 40. The 320 GB it comes with is worry free, don't have to worry about running out of room anytime soon. I could not be happier with my slim model

MW3

A actually nice game so far, only played acouple of hours and can't complain for a game that was pretty much free to me lol. Game is nice, survival is probably my favorite part of the game but the other stuff is not too shabby either.

No regrets with my purchase, a nice upgrade from my fat model and runs smoothly even after long hours of play. Definate a five star, if you looking for a new PS3 and are in the need of a MW3 game then this is the console for you

Had no problems setting this device up to charge my 4 move controllers, and it did the job just fine. Although it's not written as one of it's features this device was able to charge all 4 of my move controllers as well as my 2 navigation controllers at the same time. This is the best solution for charging the Move and Navigation controllers that I have been able to find which is why it gets 5 stars. First and foremost because it is from a trusted company in MadCatz...some of the other companies that make a Quad Charger are questionable. The fact that it can work for either Move controllers or DualShock is also nice. My only complaints, which are minor, are the extremely bright Blue LED that is on ALL THE TIME! But like the previous reviewer stated you can just put some tape or something more attractive, if you prefer, over the light. My other complaint actually relates to this as well...It would be nice if ANY charger had an On/Off Switch so that it wasn't constantly pulling power. With the Move and Navigation controllers their shape makes them a pain to just keep laying around so I like them to stand vertically in the charger at all times when I'm not using them...it just looks neater in the room. So between the controllers being charged every time I place them in the stand and the constant Blue light this thing is always pulling power. I don't think it draws much power when controllers aren't being charged so it's not a big deal but rather a small imperfection in design.

Took a while to browse though the many available charging docks for the move controllers. The reason I stuck with this one is because I liked the fact that it also charges the sixaxis controllers as well which is a big plus. Only negative thing I can say about it is that the led that indicates when its on is too bright. Bright enough to double as a night light.

This charge station is a little expensive compared to similar products in its category, but it's got a couple features which raise it above the crowd. First is its ability to charge either the Move or the Navigation controller in all four of its sockets. It's got spring-loaded clampers just like the original Sony charge station, but with four sockets instead of two. In addition, it can charge Sixaxis/Dualshock controllers as well, through a clever pop-up plug. With the controllers plugged in, it's got a nice clean look.

My only criticisms are that I don't like the glossy plastic finish, and the blue LED indicator lamp is FAR too bright (fixed that with several layers of magic tape). Also, it doesn't seem to fully charge my Sixaxis/Dualshock controllers (their red LED's don't stop flashing after a while like they normally would). Overall, though, it's a good product.

After I was "required" to upgrade my Xbox360, I was no longer able to use my FF13 faceplate. I decided to transfer the personalization to my PS3, for which I actually owned the game. It arrived in a little cardboard tube, slightly curled up. I carefully removed it from the non-stick paper and carefully applied to my PS3 slim. While seeing all these console decal skins for the PS3 and being a fan of Final Fantasy I felt this would be a good choice and after getting it I see it was the correct choice. The decal comes in two parts the first is the main decal sticker of Lightning to cover the top portion of the PS3 and the second decal is the part that covers the on/off and eject button area. The decal sticker is easy enough to apply just start from the left of the PS3 console and slowly apply the decal to the area making sure that the area is cleaned from dirt an such, take the application slowly though and you might have to remove and reapply a few times to get it right but once you do your gaming console will look incredible. Also the decal is made of vinyl so don't worry about the possibility you might tear it while applying the decal to your PS3. I think this mic is 100% worth it. For $40 you can't beat it. I'm gonna break this down, into 4 paragraphs. Sound Audio, Comfort, Price, and then other details.

Sound...It's amazing. I've used the p11, and other great turtle beaches, and the sound, you can't tell any difference. The sound is awesome. Like all stereo mics, the sound, is much better quality, than a TV speaker.

Comfort: Well it may not be as good as some of the over the ear mics, but it's still comfortable. The "cups" (it's just on the ear) have some sort of fuzzy material, but it doesn't have much padding but it's still pretty comfortable. On the top, it has some sort of leathery material, that is much more comfortable than just having a line of plastic, like some cheap mics have.

Price: I'm sure many people would say well, $40? It must suck, right? I would answer them with a no. As I said before, it is maybe, just a tiny notch down compared, to some $200 mics, so it's a win win deal here.

Other: The only problem I've really had with this mic, is the long, thick cord getting tangled up which can really be annoying (the main reason I didn't give it 5 stars) The mic has a built in bass boost, that really helps, out the sound. The volume, and chat switches, are on the left ear cup. You can twist the cups, but that's really just a useless thing to do. It works for PC and PS3, (and there's a XLA which is practically the same thing it just works for 360) so if you're looking for a good mic for PC or PS3, without spending a crazy amount of money, GET THIS!

The mic and speakers both sound good, come through loud and clear on both ends. The padding doesn't do much on the ears or head. Seems to weigh a little heavy, probably from the cord which is plenty long. The volume wheels and mic switch work well and are decently placed. Performance gets a 5, comfort started at a 3 but dropped an hour later. So overall I'm going 3 stars.

Turtle Beach Call of Duty: Black Ops II Tango Programmable Wireless Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Hea

I am posting because I was looking for a comparative review between the Astro A50s and the Turtle Beach Tango before I went out and bought one and I couldn't find one. I saw gamers here waiting for a similar review so I decided to do one. This isn't a professional comprehensive review this is just my take and how I ended up with one over the other. I am not saying which you should buy I am just noting my opinion. IF you have either one of these headsets then you have a great headset and you will be very happy. For me there were some things that stood out over the other and because of that I was able to make my decision and I feel I made the right choice!

So I picked up both the Astro A50s and the Turtle Beach Tangos to test out. I used each one for about two days on various games and tried all the features to help me decide which of these 300 dollar headsets I wanted to keep.

In the end I felt the Tango's are well ahead of the Astro A50s in terms of awesome features like software to create user custom EQ presets for audio or chat, surround angles, removable microphone and Bluetooth, which makes it compatible any Bluetooth device like a real headset. The sound quality on both the A50s and Tango are great so any edge the A50s may have isn't enough to lose out on all the features the Tango's give you. Honestly even if the Astro A50 were $100 cheaper I would still opt for the Tango's. The Astros just don't have enough features, and with no Bluetooth you have to use them with the transmitter only. The Tango's have incredible features and since I can use them with my Vita, smartphone and tablet I feel has more use and therefore a better value.

I am not a fanboy I have wanted the Astros for a long time, when the A50s came out I decided to make the plunge, I was a bit disappointed which lead me to try the Tangos. Between the two the Tango's are it. Turtle Beach really made an awesome headset that is packed full of gaming features and is comfortable and stylish. The Astro A50s are bare bones compared to the Tango and the lack of features and comfort does not make up for the slight sound difference.

So on to it!

Setup: Verdict: Tango

Astro A50: It wouldn't power on via the PS3 Slim USB port. I had to go online and install a firmware for both the headset and the transmitter. Once I did that it worked somewhat. Every time I would power off the PS3 and power it on again the transmitter would not come on I have to keep switching USB ports to get it to turn on. Not what I want to do for a 300 dollar set of headphones. Also you have to turn on both the headset and transmitter manually. No charge and play cable so I had to wait for it to charge before I could use it (I didn't have a long USB)

Turtle Beach Tango: No issues. When you turn on the headset the transmitter turns on automatically small but great feature. The Tango's also came with a long charge and play cable.

Sound : Verdict: Astro A 50 (but only by a slight edge)

Astro A50:

Very nice, warm deep rich sound. I wouldn't say I was blown away but they were nice. They have a bit more bass and volume then the Tangos.

Turtle beach Tango:

As with the Astro I wasn't blown away but again these sound great. The Tangos produce a different sound from the A50s, they aren't as warm but they do seem to have great clarity and still sound very awesome.

Surround Sound: Verdict: TIE

Both do surround sound and both sound awesome, listing to both I am happy with either one. The A50s do 7.1 the Tango's do 5.1. I don't think you need 7.1 as most movies and games aren't even in 7.1 and really that is more used for bigger spaces. Also the 7.1 is almost too much for headphones and can make it a little harder to pinpoint direction like footsteps you still will be able to great it just may be a little less accurate. 5.1 are plenty for headphones and you will be able to pinpoint better in my opinion. So for surround sound, they are both great!

Surround Sound Angles: Verdict: Tango

Astro A50: none

Turtle Beach Tango: 6 surround angles. This is a very cool feature that lets you select 6 different surround angles,. The angles are basically simulating different distance and angle setups for the front and rear speakers and it works well. I use setting 5

Comfort: Verdict: Turtle Beach Tango; Feels great even with extended gaming.

I wore both headsets for extended periods of gaming

Astro A50:

They are a heavy headset. The ear cushions feel great no issue at all however the head strap felt uncomfortable after about 40 minutes due to the weight and was definitely noticeable. After longer game time I started adjusting the position of them on my head.

Turtle Beach Tangos

They have memory foam, are lighter and they did not get uncomfortable at any time of extended gaming, they never got heavy feeling.

Presets EQs: Verdict: Tango

Astro A50s: Have 3 presets

Out of the 3 presets only number 3 sounded great, the other two I doubt I would use they just didn't sound that different yet they weren't as good and the volume was weaker.

Turtle Beach Tangos: Have 9 presets:

I use number 4 and it sounds great. Each preset sounds different from each other. There are presets to focus on footsteps, action, chat you name it.

Customizable EQ: Verdict: Tango

Astro A50: no option for user generated EQ settings, the 3 presets is what you are stuck with

Tangos: Has an awesome feature and software that allows the user to create customized EQ presets for audio and chat. The online community will even upload presets specific for various games. Treyarch even has a preset specific for COD Black Ops 2.

Microphone: Verdict: Tangos

Astro A50: The microphone is hardwired to the headset so you can't remove it. This concerns me because if there is ever an issue with the MIC you will need to pay to ship it to Astro to have them repair it. To mute the Mic you have to flip it up, to un-mute you flip it back down so this will be getting plenty of wear. I do not like the idea of not having a removable Mic and I don't like having to flip it up and down to Mute and Unmute.

Tango: Has a super bendy removable microphone which is nice, if I ever need a new one I can just order it and put it on myself. To mute the microphone there is button you press which I prefer. I can also remove the mic if I am just streaming music or using it with my tablet or vita.

Chat clarity: Verdict: Tie

Both sounded great

Chat Presets: Verdict: Tango

Astro A50: None.

Tango: 9 chat presets, some even alter the voice pitch. Again you can create custom ones if you want.

BlueTooth: Verdict: Tango

Astro A50: No Bluettoth feature at all. You have to use these headsets with the transmitter or they will not work on their own. You can run a wire to the back of the transmitter from a headphone jack of something like an Ipod but you need to stay connected to the transmitter.

Tango: Bluetooth on the headset. You can connect two Bluetooth devices at once so you can answer or make a call while gaming or even stream music. You can also use the headphones as a real stand along headset with a tablet or smart phone or even a Vita. This feature alone gives me so much value out of the Tango headphones. The Tango's can be used for any Bluetooth device and doesn't need to have the transmitter in range, they can be used as independent headphones I can take them to work if I want and stream music from my smartphone.

Style: Verdict : Tango

Astro A50: The head set is nice but the stand looks cheap and doesn't form fit the headphones very well. I actually thought it looked bad on the stand, lots of dead space and kind of just hangs there.

Turtle Beach Tango: Looks great, the stand is the transmitter and fit the headphones. It looks awesome with the orange trim on both the headphones and transmitter.

Connection

No issues on either one, no static or pops. Both use the 5ghz band

Ordered these on October 25th 2012 and they were released on the 26th for shipment. Being that was a Friday the 1 day business shipping didn't get them to me until the 29th as expected. First impressions: These appear to be MUCH better made than my Turtle Beach x4's that they are replacing. They are solid, appear to be made of good material and have a nice feel to them. Included in the box were the headset, transmitter, Bluetooth chat puck, (1) optical cable & (1) USB power cable (The transmitter is powered by a USB power cable & does not plug into an outlet but into your Xbox), (1) short USB cable to plug into the headset for charging purposes when sitting on the transmitter, & (1) long USB cable to charge & play. The headset is factory paired with the Bluetooth puck so no set up required. Just hook up the transmitter with the two cables to the Xbox and go. WOW! Sound is amazing. 100% better than my x4's. They are paired with the transmitter via dual channel wireless where my x4's were infrared. IR required line of site & anybody or anything (my very large Weimaraner) walking between you and it would cause static or fallout of sound. There is NO problem like that with the Tango's. Sound is very crisp with no static, hum, popping or fallout. Since Black Ops II isn't out yet I fired up Modern Warfare 3. FANTASTIC! These things flat out ROCK!!!!! There are a number of presets built into the headset for different sound profiles that can be accessed by just a button push. These cover both chat & game sounds. It appears you can even program your own which I will try at some point. I have been using the presets but will experiment with all of the available options later. Also another very cool feature is the Bluetooth is dual pairing which means you can pair it with another Bluetooth device. I paired it with my Samsung Galaxy S III with no problems which enabled me to listen to my music while playing the game and chatting. How cool is that!!! Also supposed to be able to use your phone to make & receive calls while playing. Have not tried it yet but see no reason it wouldn't work since the music does. My son has Astro A40's and these beat them hands down. They also make my TB x4's seem archaic. If you are an Xbox gamer & and can afford them then I don't think you will be dissapointed.

PROS: Too numerous to list! Best headset I have ever used or owned.

CONS: None at present except maybe price. But I guess you get what you pay for.

I had to return these because I had some problems (sound would cut off for 5 seconds from time to time and it would make a distorted noise in the right earcup every 10 mins approx)

Even with the problems I had with the Tangos I would say this is a nice headset (although a bit pricey imo) and probably better than the Astro A50 (I am sure my Tangos were one of the very few that were defective, but the A50 it seems like 50% are good and 50% are defective) and from what I've seen all over the internet the Warheads sound is somewhat mediocre for $300.

UPDATE 01/25/2013

After trying the old Astro mixamp with the Sennheiser PC 360 (which, lucky me, they were defective too) I am back with the Tangos.

I wanna say the old mixamp is really good imo.

The Sennheiser PC 360 are beautiful for music but in games I don't know if it was because they were defective or I had to get used to their sound (like it happened to me going from TBs X12 to Tritton 720+) but it was harder for me to hear footsteps, I am not quite sure as I just tried them for a few hours.

Anyway, I am back with the Tangos and I am pretty happy with these, no defects so far, everything works great as I was expecting. This is the best headset for gaming I have tried so far.

If you can get them for $199 that is a great price or even $249 would be fair imo.

I've had both the A50s and the new Tangos. Sound quality is close probably favors the A50 ever so slightly but the other features pushes the Tangos way ahead

I received these headphones in good shape. I have been using them for about 30 hours and have had no issues. They are much more comfortable than the XP 500s. Also, there is absolutely no cracking of connection and in fact I was able to wear the headphones and still talk and hear game play while two rooms away from the receiver, still no crackiling or cutting out.

Voice is clear and concise and I was able to hear my music through BT while playing without any problems. This is a expensive headset, but extremely worth it. I have not tried voice morphing or manipulating any of the sound functions through the computer.

I'm 58, played about all the COD games, Battlefield 2, MOH, and others. I can get through these games but will never be as good as some teen boy at these, single or multiplayer. It took me about 8 hours to get through the single player, but partially because I missed a game assist (more on this later).

I was drawn to the game because of its theme of fighting for freedom. There is a bit of this, but I guess even the "shocking" scenes didn't seem all that shocking in today's jaded era. I liked the overall story and some of the realities of fighting a guerilla-style war: citizens who just want to get along; others who take advantage of the war for their own benefit; screw-ups that happen... I wish there was more development of these elements. I didn't feel much of anything for the characters. Even at the end of MOH, I felt a bit when the wounded soldier died. Not so much here. Pity.

The graphics: the backgrounds seemed detailed enough to me, overall, but were certainly stylistically different than other such recent games. Sometimes the character animation seemed lacking: feet that didn't really "touch" the ground, odd ticks, etc. Too often the characters seemed pasted in rather than integral to the background. (Cf to Battlefield 3's latest videos for the opposite effect.)

There were parts of the game I enjoyed quite a bit. Other parts had me yelling at the TV in frustration.

SPOILERS: Problem areas: auto-lock on too often "stuck" on enemies not close to the actual one I was trying to shoot; word hints (enter church or whatever) sometimes obscured the enemies, making it difficult to see them even on a 46 inch HD LED screen, leading to unnecessary deaths; save points that required redoing too many tasks (suffered by other games: how about a save point after accomplishing each difficult goal rather than endless repetition?); enemies that were unrealistically great shots/too lethal to me; too many on-screen hints at some points, not enough at others; rocket emplacements that required an unholy number of hits to be destroyed; walking upright through fields to avoid being seen by enemies but fields with almost no cover (cf COD game crawling through the grass to avoid being spotted by nearby enemies). In one annoying (a glitch?) sequence, we were in a Target-type store. My character was supposed to "follow" another, but the other guy just kept running back and forth -not doing anything, not shooting, nothing -back and forth like a chicken with its head cut off. He would not advance. Not until _my_ character moved forward did the story/game start again. The first couple of times I did that, I was immediately slaughtered. Eventually, I got past that sequence, but my "leader" still engaged in a lot of pointless running around. I was really happy when we finally left that stupid store...

SPOILERS: Re: hints: in one sequence, the passengers have to exit a helicopter your character is flying at ground level and enter three fuel trucks on the move. (Don't ask...) It took me a long while to figure out what to do to get the characters to exit the chopper and enter the trucks. A simple "use square button" at the start of the sequence would have saved me a lot of time. Another issue that made me redo sequences with RPGs and missiles far too many times was not realizing I was supposed to use "countermeasures" then. I had to figure out how to get through the sequences by simply dodging and weaving (not easy when you're being fired upon from four different directions). Again, a simple "use X button" hint would have reminded me of what I glimpsed in the manual but did not remember during the play. (I went back after finishing the game and used the countermeasures: _much_ easier the second time around.)

I liked some of the gun play; liked shooting a sniper rifle; thought some of the story was good; thought the characters had potential, though my character was a near-total cipher.

I played a few rounds of the multiplayer. (I play COD:BOps and Uncharted 2 online; mostly enjoy those.) A bit frustrating. Again, hotshots (almost literally) who killed me with a couple shots, while my multiple rounds accomplished little. Fun. Not. The maps and graphics seemed okay but with certainly a different feel from COD. Maybe the maps are too big; seem too empty. Also, I can sort of appreciate the high angle start above the map when you regenerate (to give you an overview of what's happening) then the zoom when you "land," but this seems to slow things down too much as does the requirement before _every_ rebirth to select your weapons. I prefer COD where the game gives you the same load-outs throughout a battle unless you request in-game to switch on the next regen. I doubt I'll play much multiplayer here. (I didn't notice any lag, but then, I didn't get on until 1:00 a.m., either.)

I'll give the game 3 stars, but would prefer 3 1/2. Can't quite rate it a 4. I paid $40 for this after a $20 credit for buying an earlier game from Amazon. I think I would have been more upset if I'd paid the full $60.

The game has its moments. It could have been better.

To be fair, I don't care for the multi-player part of this game or others like this. I want a strong single-player game, and then if there is an enjoyable MP side of it, all the better. In my opinion, too many of these games devolve into the exact same games in multiplayer. Kids with tricks and cheats or hacks and whatnot and lots of killing one another.

So my review is on the single player game. Like others, I was unhappy with the cheapo looking graphics. I dont' mind a script or storyline, but constantly FOLLOWING lead characters is just crap. On and on and on. Follow here, then over here. No thinking. No strategy. Your teamates are useless against the enemy. The AI are static.

The premise is/was intriguing but they just couldn't pull it off. They could have done so much more with the Red Dawn premise. who can you trust? If you kill occupiers, you would draw the rath of the enemy, so stealth and hiding amongst the regular population would be good missions, BUT someone , somewhere made the decision to dumb this down so a 13 year old kid will just want to shoot this and then that. Weapons are the same that are in every other game except ammo is limited.

How about having to cache your ammo and then hide it from the occupiers? How about characters that are engaging? I didn't even make it to the end of the misssions. I played 4 hours worth and gave up. Could have been a great game, but the designers just punted. Maybe they put all their efforts into MP, but whY? There are plenty of MP games to play and they are all the same. It's the premise and the single player missions that carve out the niche.

Another reason why I will rent games before I buy them. $60 down the drain for a few hours of fun. I was hoping it would allow me to put Black Ops back in the drawer, since I really don't like that game either. Both have limited realism, but at least Black Ops has a bare-bones and hardcore mode, where you don't have to shoot a person 7 times to kill them. Also, I played Black Ops for weeks without getting bored of it, but I was ready to quit Homefront after a few hours! I hate games where the A.I. always knows where you are. What happened to a right/left lean around a corner? Guess it's time to try the Battlefield series.

Pros: Story is interesting.

Cons: Where's the game? There is no single player.....a whopping 6 levels. It took all of 2 hours to beat it. There are no multiplayer maps(ok, very few). Multiplayer games are limited....there are 2! deathmatch and groundwar/domination types.

....Seems like they just slapped the game together and put it on the shelf. Honestly, I would pay $19.99 for the game, and not much more. Too late, they already tricked me into paying $60 and tax.

i had high hopes for this game, especially after they plastered my home town (SFCA) with ads. no such luck. the campaign game play is boring, pedantic, and worst of all, short. for all the talk of san francisco (did you see the cover?), you never actually make it there. (yea, thats a spoiler, but trust me, you wont care.) the storyline is the work of a third grader and the ai is terrible, reminds me of half life opfor, and that was nearly 15 years ago.

so, they cheated us on the single player, but that means mp must be awesome, right? i wouldnt know. i sat for 20 minutes in a queue, waiting for other players, until i bailed.

they owe us some free dlc, for wasting money on this crap.

Doesn't rip, removes easily if you messed up applying it, doesn't leave residue. A little difficult to get on but once you do, looks beautiful. Make sure you rub down the top of your PS3, buff out any bumps on it. When you apply this don't hover over the PS3, hair could get under and its very noticeable if you apply it over.

Start at the front left-hand side of your PS3. line up the short front edge and long side edge.

Now rub back and forth across the sticker as you LOOSELY hold it, you want very little tension as you apply.

Push air bubbles outward as they appear. When the sticker is completely applied, and there are any little folds on the edges, rub them out to the nearest corner.

The image could have been a little bit better quality, but its only noticeable up close. Like 3 inches. This will take 10-15 patient minutes to properly apply.

Nothing spectacular, but serviceable. It doesn't break any new ground graphically, but it's what you would expect from the Warriors franchise.

The Music was appropriate, and did not detract or distract. The voice acting was good, but not overly memorable. The only distraction to me was the pronunciations. The in-game characters would often pronounce a name one way, and the cutscene voiceover would pronounce it another, and not what I have come to expect from the name pronunciations (at least from films and such). Otherwise not much to comment on.

Story: 4

The storyline progressed nicely as you switched sides, playing heroes from both Sparta and Troy, following much of the legend. Perhaps it's just me, but I kept remembering the film Troy while playing. Thankfully, the story goes into further depth than the film, and you get a broader historical reference, albeit creative licenses obviosly taken.

Gameplay: 4

It's exactly what I expected, especially from KOEI Warriors. It's hack and slash. A rewarding skill up system with currency you spend to increase your stats, buy better combos, and enhance your characters. The items you purchase transfer from one hero to another as you play through the different stages, therefore you aren't specifically levelling one hero or another. The maps are well designed, and the objectives clearly laid out and suffice to move the story along. My only complaint is that some of the secondary objectives aren't well explained and are easily overlooked if you aren't paying attention, but that lends toward replayability I suppose. I will definitely be replaying to try to pick up some of the objectives I missed first time through.

The game lived up to my expectations, and is very enjoyable. It's nice to play something different for a change. There's only so many times you can re-live the Three Kingdoms era, and this is a welcome change of pace. As another reviewer commented, a multiplayer or at least a co-op mode would have made this game significantly better, especially given the scope of the battle. Even so, it's a game that will provide many hours of fun for any fan of the genre.

I pre-ordered this game form Amazon and it arrived yesterday. I have been playing it for about 10 hours now and had to pry myself away to write this review. The first thing any video game should be is fun, and Warriors Legend of Troy is fun to play. Is it ground breaking? Not really, although from the Warriors perspective I think I can safely say it is at least trying some new things.

First, unlike the Dynasty games, the story here unfolds in an interesting way, you play through missions as different characters as the war unfolds before you. The characters don't level, but you earn Kleos (basically currency) for completing missions and completing sub-goals within them. You spend this on upgrades that can be applied to whichever character you are playing. At first I was unsure of this, but after an hour or two the idea grew on me, it is an interesting approach. I also like how different each of the characters are from each other, they play differently. And, as a surprise, this button masher does require you to apply some strategy as you battle different types of enemies, and use different combo's and different approaches to them. Also, while many of the enemy soldiers are just basic cannon fodder, there are somewhere between 6 to 10 different models, so they don't all look like you are fighting clones, although there are not enough different models to say that anything to unique is going on.

The production value is very good, and the cut-scenes that tell the story are of a very high quality. I think the voice acting is serviceable, but honestly not really very good overall.

However, going back to my original point, this game is fun to play. The maps are terrific, the objectives very clear and they make sense and also advance the story in a meaningful way. The rewards system is intriguing and keeps you coming back. There are other mini-game options outside of the main story, and as you complete levels you can revisit them.

Honestly, this game exceeded my expectations (which were admittedly pretty low). If you like the Dynasty games this is a fresh take with some rudimentary innovations. Finally, part of what makes it fresh is to get into some western mythos and out of the three-kingdoms! Thankfully I did not have to put down the yellow turban rebellion for the one-millionth time here!

Worth getting if you like either the movie Troy, Greek mythos, or haven't played a Dynasty game in a little while and want to see where they are going.

Warriors: Legends of Troy is a surprising game. I honestly didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but its seemingly simple guise quickly revealed a much deeper and richer experience I had anticipated. It might seem to be a simple hack and slash but if your first playthrough (roughly 20hrs) is set to Hard, then you will be richly rewarded with a similar sense of accomplishment you may have experienced in Demon's Souls.

Having said that, the combat system is based on timing your attacks and knowing your enemies' attack patterns. Most peon enemies will be easily obliterated through your standard light and heavy attacks (which combine into various brutal combos) but larger bosses and sub-bosses will be a challenge (and sub-bosses are frequent). If you don't take the time to memorize enemy attack patterns and to formulate your own strategy you can be quickly mowed down in as few as three attacks. Boss fights are especially notorious for this and get progressively harder as each stage of the fight unfolds. You will die, and die often, until you learn the fight inside and out. For this reason, your victories are very gratifying and saving afterwards is usually accompanied by a sigh of relief.

When you beat one stage you play the next stage as another character. The story of the Trojan War is told through the eyes of roughly eight characters, each from Troy, Greece, and even an Amazon. Before each stage begins you have the option to equip items, which serves as the game's way of "leveling up," so to speak, since in theory there really is no way to level up like in traditional Koei games. Instead, each item has different properties and is better suited for different characters and during different boss fights so it's a good idea to experiment until you reach a good balance. In fact, this is an integral part of the game's learning process, and it creates a very dynamic and mercurial experience even towards the game's conclusion.

As you progress through the story you'll be treated to another highlight of the game: the narrative. Normally, Koei's narratives aren't as exciting as its cutscenes but here the narrator seems passionate about the source material and the Greek art style is simply gorgeous to watch. The combined effect, although minimal since it is after all a narrative, is still a lovely experience.

Even when the end credits roll, the game has plenty of replay value. Some of the trophies are actually great challenges on their own, and the additional modes outside of the story are excellent ways to challenge yourself further and to earn more Kleos, which by the way, transfer to story mode just in case you need to purchase a certain item for a stage you're struggling with.

Now that I think about it, WLOT is perhaps the most polished and streamlined of Koei's games to date. Combat is not as slow as Fist of the North Star and the ability to use combos comprised solely of heavy attacks goes a really long way to make the fluff between boss fights fresh and fun. Fury Mode, which slows down time and overpowers your character, is also fun and speeds things along as well.

With all that said, one truly feels a sense of progression with Koei, which is definitely saying something for a company that hasn't evolved tremendously over its lifetime. With such a resounding success as WLOT I dare not doubt the next Koei game. Bring it on!

For me this is the third success Koei has pulled off in the past twelve months.

I got the Fist of the North Star one in Nov, then Trinity in March.

They have come a long way since DW2 on the PS2.

The game does have the same basic system, but for lack of a better term it seems a bit more realistic than the DW games. Combat is much more brutal, you are much more vulnerable. And the boss fights will put you to a real challenge. The look of characters fits. (No hot little warrior girls, the amazons are amazons, they are tall, and could almost pass for men with their build.)

The change of setting is something else they have needed since running the three kingdoms plot through six times has been done.

"Warriors: Legends of Troy" is not a bad game. While I personally think the gameplay should be likened to Final Fight rather than Dynasty Warriors, all in all, it is a satisfying beat-em-up that takes the player through tales of Homer, Sophocles, Vergil, and many others.

The presentation of this game is fantastic. The vignettes leading into each stage are produced and written well, and the voices (from narrator to each character) are great. The developers have clearly taken the time to read up on their classics here, and draw from many sources (as insinuated above, I was particularly happy at the inclusion of Sophocles telling of the death of Ajax).

But we don't play a game to read the classics. Thankfully, gameplay is solid. Combat is somewhat slower paced than a typical Dynasty Warriors game, but much more complex. Enemies can kill an adventurer who is underprepared, or isn't paying attention, even on easy level. Challenges add to the fun (e.g. you might have to beat a boss in under 4 minutes, etc. etc.). One of the best things here is that the camera FINALLY works. I don't feel sick when the game swings around.

There are some issues with game, however. The first is that there are only 8 playable characters in the game. This is unacceptable. The Trojan war had numerous heroes, many of whom appear in this game, but are unplayable. Why can't I play as Deiphobus, or Diomedes? Why is Patroclus the exact same as Achilles? In general, other characters play differently, but all in all, this game should have three times this number of characters, at least.

Far worse than the above is the fact that there are only 22 playable stages, and no free mode! I beat the game in about 6 hours. Yes, there are difficulty settings, challenges, and what have you, but come on. By comparison, it took me a full day to beat the story mode of a single kingdom in Dynasty Warriors 7. In W:LoT, you play each stage with one chosen character, and when you are finished, that's it. All that's left is mostly pointless grinding. There are some challenge modes, but this is hardly the selling point of a game like this.

All in all, I think this is an OK game. If I had gotten it for $20, it would have been great. I strongly urge people to wait for a price drop here.
