I wanted to get this game since I played the demo and it's a lot of fun. The graphics and voice acting are above average, the story is entertaining, and dialogue is a little cheesy, but it's bearable. The best thing about the game is the different supernatural powers that the team members have. Some are more efficient to use than others, and you'll probably use your favorite 2-3 members for most of the game (most likely Church, who uses a one-hit kill sword, and Delgado who uses fire and a minigun). The weapons are usual FPS machine guns, pistols, snipers, etc. Each member has their own personality, which helps keep the game fresh. The ultimate rental. I don't suggest buying it due to lack of multiplayer and a short campaign. Squeamish people, STAY AWAY!

EditedI haven't been able to play this game in a while, but I picked it up again recently. I haven't gotten too far into the game when I reviewed it, but having played it furthur, I have found many faults that I didn't notice before. The main and most frustrating one is the lack of any sort of intelligence whatsoever from your teammates. They rarely use cover, and when they do they use it incredibly poorly. They usually stand in the same spot all clumped together in a group firing at the same enemy while ignoring the other ones. They never back away from enemies that are charging at them, not even the ones who explode when they get near you. As a result, they are CONSTANTLY dieing, making you revive them constantly. This becomes even more frustrating when the squad gets split up since you have to pay extra attention to make sure that those guys don't die. One part of the game is so excruciatingly difficult that I have almost given up on beating the game. Which is a darn shame since I'm loving the wacky storyline.

I played Jericho for the PS3 and bought I because I enjoyed the demo and was despirate for a FPS for the PS3.

The good:

Its fun

Difficulty settings are appropriate

Graphics are cool

Controller is easy to learn

The bad:

At times too dark to see your surroundings

Short

Game favors some characters with certain powers

Not as interactive as other next gen games (can't jump or pick up items)

The only flaw this game has is that there is no multiplayer or co-op options. Otherwise the game has great graphics, an intriguing story, and awesome weapons and powers.

When I started this game I went in with a bad attitude from the beginning due to all the bad reviews. The game starts off a little slow but as you go on it gets better and better. I'm done with the game and I liked it a lot. Make your own decision about the game.

Want Clive Barker's Jericho Discount?

The main reason I purchased this game is that I am a huge Clive Barker fan! I've read all the Books Of Blood, Hellbound Heart, and Cabal. Hellraiser was the first horror film I found to be simply beautiful and grotesque at the same time. It was hard for me to stay away from the graphics of this game. Only, when game play started... it was not your traditional FPS.

Jericho doesn't disappoint with it's beautiful design! Each and every detail int he characters and playfield have been detailed to an unreal degree. This makes the game beautiful to watch and gawk at. The levels and missions are short... leaving even the busiest gamer time to fly though a mission before heading out Friday night, going to the office, or even the family guy, playing with the kids. Only, some missions require more thought than others....

Let the frustration begin...

Your Squad has a multitude of skills... each one will need to use them among different points of the game. Generally, I avoided playing Father Rawlings because he's a healer and can heal from a distance... My issues? Sometimes you need to use these skills and there is little hint to when! ie. I fought a Lichthammer for 20 minutes before I thought of using Church's blood to bind her... as soon as I did that the fight was over. So 20 minutes of nothing! I could have spent 40 doing it, having no idea. Same with huge beasts in another level where once again Church was needed. Seems Church, the character I like to play second least, is constantly needed to do things.... yet there is little hint to the need of the character. This is frustrating.

Next.... and the most annoying thing that made me want to sell this game the minute I started to play... (along with other reviews) The squad is downright dumb! Each one gets killed much too easily... and it happens often. I spend more time healing my crew than I do fighting monsters. Especially with the suicide bomber monsters. Frankly, there is nothing more annoying than watching someone play a game and never getting to try it out... that's the way I feel on certain parts of this game. I run around healing people more than I get to destroy monsters because the darn squad will jump out like it's a surprise birthday party for the enemy and never take enough cover. BTW, having a crouch button would have been nice! They have multiple levels with debris you can hide behind but what good is it if you stand up to get shot.

Needless to say I give the game a 3 only because it's been the most beautiful horror first person shooter I've ever seen. Final note... some of the fun of a FPS is exploration. Also, picking up items or power ups, secrets, ect... Not in this game. There is no way to explore. Only one way to go. No open roads or ways to get lost. You have a driven linear path!

If you're a Clive Barker fan or like horror to the extreme this is a must but be ready for frustration. It's very unorthodox of other FPS and you'll be healing your squad allot instead of fighting. Just remember that the levels are short enough that redoing them from a check point isn't so bad. I like to collect games of this nature but, I'm not sure I'll hold onto this or not. I love the graphics and violence but, I think this game is going to drive me to need medication. It only needed a few more things to make it a 5 star game!

3 Stars, for great graphics and some fun...

Absolutely fantastic game. It is very similar to the PSP games and menus are in English so it was very easy to play this game for the non-native Japanese. Minigames for training are a blast, and the songs are great. Being able to put 5 Idols in one song was amazing, and being able to produce 3 idols for your idol group was so cool. I was sad that you have to unlock Ritsuko and Mami and others. DLC would be cool if they accepted an american credit card, though i suppose i could just buy a Yen PSN card. But all in all great music, good fun, easy to play, and it has far better graphics than the PSP versions.

I don't think there's anything I can say that hasn't been said about the quality of the fighting in this game. Top notch. No doubt about it. What I like the best is the online play. It's so smooth and seamless, it really takes you back to the good old arcade days.

I'm not as wowed at the graphics as other people are. When you see the characters up close you can see some blurry textures. And the backgrounds are really nothing special. And if I'm going to nit pick, the backgrounds are a big disappointment. Nobody is assigned a stage. They're all random and none of them are memorable like the ones in Street Fighter 2.

The anime cut scenes before and after you beat the game are just horrible. Storyline? Is there one? This is supposed to take place between Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 3 and yet it does NOTHING to do fill in the gaps between the two. All it does is raise MORE questions by bringing dead characters back and adding new ones. Where'd all these characters go in SF3?

As far as the "Collectors Edition" goes, it's not really worth the extra money. You get an anime movie which is of the same quality as the cut scenes in the game. It's horrible. I love anime and have seen a lot of it. But this is one of the worst animes I have ever seen in my life. It's worse than the new live action Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li movie.

And then you get a comic book strategy guide that you'll look at once and never again. And a tiny Ryu figure which is kinda cool to look at. And the soundtrack.

I spent the extra money to get the movie, but the movie is horrible. So if that's your reasoning to buy this collectors edition, save your money and just buy the game.

First off I love the actual game. I've grown up with the fighting genre, played fighting games since I was a young kid and could barely reach the joysticks and buttons. The Streetfighter franchise has come a long, long way but sadly it is my opinion that the collector's edition (it's contents) is a let-down to Street Fighter fans, and hardly justifies the extra price.

The items that came with the collector's edition include a Ryu figurine, a cd soundtrack, blu-ray movie disc "The Ties That Bind" collector's hint book, network vouchers for free alternate costumes (you'll pay a small fee if you don't have the voucher) and of course the actual game.

At first glanced this seemed like a great deal, until you actually have the product in your hands. Upon opening the box you'll notice that the touted figurine of Ryu and I'am assuming the same for C. Viper for the X Box editions are incredibly small. My Ryu figurine has a certain degree of detail to it; Ryu poses in a classic form as he is preparing to form a hadoken fireball. The thing is it only stands at about 3 inches tall. I wasn't expecting something huge, but when you compare the size of the figurine to the size of the box, you could easily stand 3 Ryu figurines on top of one another with room to spare. That's how small the figurine is.

Trying to be optimistic of the C.E., I popped in the blu ray movie and all I can say is, the animation showcases some of the classic characters: Guile, Chun Li, Cammy, Ken, Sakura and of course Ryu with appearances of Balrog, Vega and the new game boss Seth. Without going into too much details C. Viper is shown as an antagonist in the short film. Well the film wasn't anything spectacular. Storyline was much too predictible. I wouldn't say you'd be missing much by opting not to get the collector's edition.

My overall opinion is 5 stars for the game. But if I could rate just the contents that came with the collector's edition, I would have to give it a 2.5 stars at best. I didn't feel it worth while to have paid more for these extras; perhaps you'll feel differently. Just my 2 cents.

Buy Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition Now

When I first heard of the Collector's Edition (CE) of Street Fighter 4 (SF4) I thought it would be worth the extra $20 because the bluray itself would justify the extra money. I had also thought the mini strategy guide, Ryu figurine, soundtrack, and costume pack, would be added bonuses. Boy was I wrong.

The SF4 movie, The Ties That Bind, is a poorly animated, poorly written, and poorly produced film. It's around 65 minutes long and does little to add to the story of the fighting game, which isn't impressive to begin with.

The mini strategy guide is pathetic at best. At around 14 pages it's thinner than the actual game guide! All it includes is some art by Udon showcasing 2 special moves and a combo for the 4 new characters: Abel, Crimson Viper, El Fuerte, and Rufus.

The Ryu figurine stands around 4 inches tall and isn't much to look at, but if you like to collect little nicknacks this would be great for you. Since the figurine is so small you can imagine how hard it would be to cram a lot of detail into it so don't expect too much.

The soundtrack CD is the highlight of what come extra with the CE for me. It features some nice remixes to classic songs which, based on the cover art, are from the upcoming Motion Picture. Overall a great listen.

The costume pack bugged me a little because it sets up whoever buys the CE to possibly be suckered into buying the rest of the costume packs. There are going to be a total of 5 costume packs released as payable downloadable content. Each pack will have alternative costumes for 5 characters and cost $4 each. You can imagine anyone who has the first set would probably want the remaining 4. In the end it's a good marketing move by Capcom.

While I don't suggest you get the CE for SF4 I highly recommend you buy the game on its own. Reviews on the game are plentiful so I won't write about it.

My ratings--

SF4 CE package: 2.5/5

SF4: 5/5

I love street fighter games and i love the extra's that came with it a good buy for someone who loves the game.

Want Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition Discount?

I don't know where to start.

Well first of all, the blu-ray movie that was included is kinda 'eh'. The soundtrack is awesome, but I think you'll only enjoy it if you like the whole tech scene. The game itself is exactly what you expect from a next gen street fighter game.

Now to the game itself. Let's break it down between gameplay, multi-player, graphics, sound and Overall

Gameplay is classic street fighter gameplay, the controls are essentially the same, but kinda hard to get used to if it's been a while since you played. The story is kinda, can I say, retarded. You'll see.

Multi-player is better than I expected and slightly disappointing, but the disappointment was my own expectations. Also the collector's edition gives you extra costumes. Major plus.

Graphics are fantastic to say the least. Definitely the blu-ray quality you expect from the PS3.

Sound, on mine at least, is a bit glitchy at times, and some of the voices sound retarded. Guile and E-Honda for instance.

Overall I give this game a 8.5 out of 10

Am I happy that Terraria was released on the PS3!

For people who have not heard of this game, it started as an indie game, with a retro graphic style.

This serves 2 purposes:

1. this is a throwback, a tribute to the 8 bit era, when games really flourished.

2. it is to remind us, despite all the flashy technology, that gaming is not about graphics, but gameplay.

You start off choosing things like difficulty, creating your character, etc. then you get started on your adventure in 2D side-scrolling goodness.

I'm not going to spoil it for you guys, but you get to use different items and weapons, different enemies, environments, and also get to meet other players in-game. The official description is: "Terraria is a land of adventure! A land of mystery! A land that's yours to shape, to defend and to enjoy. Your options in Terraria are limitless. Are you an action gamer with an itchy trigger finger? A master builder? A collector? An explorer? There's something for everyone here."

The experience is hard to describe, very much like Minecraft in 2D. It involves a lot of exploration and adventuring, bashing monsters, digging for ore, collecting materials, and assembling items. All I have to say is, you have to try it for yourself. All in a vibrant 2D presentation.

Too bad there is no physical disc for the PS3 US and EU markets, and I was quite disappointed. The trade-off is that the price is lowered. If you really must have the physical copy, this Japanese import version is the way to go.

However, if you are outside of Japan, you can consider the US collector's edition. The game would be DLC, but you get the bonuses which are quite fun to have.

This picture does not do the product justice. This package contains two SONY-made-and-packaged usb cables specifically for PS3 controllers and/or PSP-to-PS3 connectivity. The cable length is 10 ft, waaay longer than the usb cable included with the PS3. The price is really good too. I checked around and the best deal I found elswhere was $20 for a single usb cable. I absolutely recommend this to any PS3/PSP owner.

The price seemed a bit high for this item, but I decided to take a chance and get it rather than some no name brand. The 2 cables are very high quality and work well. The cords are also much longer than the cord that comes with the PS3 as a pack in. So if you need to charge up your controllers but you really want to play right then, you can plug them in and sit far enough back to enjoy your game. These are worth the money.

Buy PlayStation 3/PSP USB 2.0 Cable Pack (2-Pack) (10 foot) Now

Very good cables for the price. Not only that but you get a pair of them. They are longer than the ones that came with the PS3 so you can actually sit back instead of camping next to your PS3 when you play your games. The cables themselves are made with the 'net like' material and not the usual rubber type which I think are better quality. That and Amazon sells them for nearly 50% off the MSRP of 19.99 which is a big plus. These are THE PS3 replacement cables to get.

Wow! What a value. You will not be disapointed. You get two. The length is long enough so that you could play with them attached if you can't wait for the controller to charge. The material they are made of is a heavier gage then on the original. Overall I think this is a must have especially if you have mutiple gamers in the household.

Worked perfectly for my situation. My PS3 is just far enough away that the regular cable doesn't reach where my theater seating is. These cables are perfect, with slack to move some.

I purchased the Fragfx Shark V2013 because I use to play 1st person shooters on the computer and felt like this would be great to have. I'm mainly using this controller to play Battlefield 3 (BF3). When I initially purchased the Fragfx controller, there weren't any reviews on the gameplay for BF3 so I'm baseing this review on that particular game.

Pros:

1. The mouse movement of the crosshairs is quick and accurate. (My sensitivity settings are 100% for the game and 2 on the nunchuck)

2. It's easier to manage the recoil when shooting from the hip or aiming down scope (ADS). On the heavy machine guns the crosshairs rise quickly, slowly moving the mouse to counter the recoil keeps you on target better than a PS3 controller.

3. The ADS button is located on the nunchuck which feels great in your hand while aiming and firing with the mouse.

4. When fighting close quarters especially in the buildings on the stairwells I was able to turn around quicker than my opponent and win those shootouts that use to leave me lying dead on the stairs.

5. The PS3 buttons are located on the mouse where your thumb naturally rests so it's easy to manipulate those buttons quickly with ease.

6. The scroll button on the mouse helps you crouch down or get in the prone quickly.

Cons:

1. I didn't witness any stair casing when I moved the mouse diagonally, however there is a slight bit of lag when moving the mouse around. The screen becomes kinda hazy when you move the mouse around. It's noticeably but not a show stopper.

2. The directional buttons are sometimes accidently press without me noticing it and when I aim in for a shot, I realize that I've changed the bullet rate from automatic to single shot. In addition the same thing happens to the sensitivity button on the nunchuck, it can be accidently moved while you're manipulating the thumb stick.

3. If you like to drive tanks in BF3 forget it! I had the sensativty up to 100% in the game and maxed out on the nunchuck and the main turret moved very slow. This only affects you when you're driving the tank or sitting in the 3rd seat. It works fine when you're the gunner.

4. Don't even attempt to fly a jet or fly a helicopter with the Fragfx! Just like the tank the controls are too slow to fly, however being a gunner in the attack chopper is fine.

5. I tried following the instructions and programming the Fragfx but still haven't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong so you may have to spend some time playing around with it to tweek the buttons to your game play.

The bottom line is it's a great controller, but I feel like $99 dollars is a little too steep of a price. It gets the job done, but not by any means flawless. At this time I have not tried it with any other games besides BF3. I hope this review help some of you make a decision especially if you play BF3.

I can't use a regular ps3 controller due to past brain injuries. So I started with the frag pro, got the frag-shark, and now this upgraded frag-shark v2013.

So, I've had years of experience with these; through the ups and downs. lol

This new version is by far the best. Extremely easy to use. If you see a review with complaints about the mouse, or another aspect of the controller, it's probably due to not reading instructions. Which, can be difficult to understand.

Go to the web site and watch the detailed vids if you have problems.

That's all I have to say about this. If you don't like the controller; then sorry you couldn't get the two hand separation down. It was a necessity for me and took a few hrs, but not everyone is obsessed with eye-nuero-muscle/bla bla bla recoup connections.

I have had 4 of these devices over the last year & 1/2 and decided to get the v2013 just recently thinking all the glitches would be fixed but item arrived just like one of the other ones.

Some of the buttons did not work so cannot get replaced i just have to ship it back and then get refund and start over. This has been the deal for last ~2 years, I was stubborn to attain warranty through square trade on my previous one and boy do I regret that.

Pros:

Great design, amazing response and great usage, makes you play very well once you get used to it.

Cons:

Seems like they don't test the units before shipping, waste of my time to receive an item and then have to return and purchase another? I will hold off now as much as I would like the FragFX but its just not worth the irritation while playing an FPS and certain buttons don't respond etc on a brand new unit.

All in all, great unit when it works, be warned and get a 3 year accidental warranty through SquareTrade, that should help you replace / get back your device investment if it happens to go bad, and it probably will.

Read Best Reviews of Fragfx Shark V2013 for PS3, PC and MAC - Wireless Here

The Fragfx Shark is a good device, but it isn't great. The mouse and nunchuck have a premium (not cheap) feel and they function well.

My issue is that no matter how much I tune the in-game sensitivity (BO2) and the dead zone on the Fragfx I can't quite get it to feel right. It doesn't feel quite as smooth as PC FPS games feel. It helps when I'm sniping and it makes Halo Jumps and Dropshots (and Halo Jumps INTO Dropshots) much, much easier.

Still, after a few days and several hours with the Fragfx I'd say I prefer the Dualshock in some ways.

UPDATE #1: Well, I gave it a few more days and I was able to do what I couldn't do at the time of the above review. I found a setting that felt right. It's a delicate balance between game sensitivity and setting the dead zone wheel on the mouse. For me I put my Black Ops 2 sensitivity on 11 (Very High) and turned the Dead Zone all the way down (off). When playing with a Dualshock I was never able to get the sensitivity above 6 without feeling that I've lost control.

Again, this makes dropshots and halo jumps and Halo-jumps-into-dropshots super easy. The first time I Halo'd into a dropshot for a kill I felt like such a boss. lol.

I have upgraded my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. Take enough time to find your sensitivity-dead zone combination and you'll be glad you made this purchase.

UPDATE #2: Before I got my Fragfx I'd rarely get a UAV in BO2. Yes I'm that bad. lol. Now things have opened up for me and I'm getting UAV-Hunter Killer-Counter UAV cycles so much that I'm considering using higher scorestreaks. I can win a good number of gunfights now because: A) With the Fragfx I can play on 11 sensitivity which means I can turn on people like a flash, and B) 9 out of 10 people don't handle dropshots well.

The moral of this story? The Fragfx takes some adjusting to. Go into Combat Training and get accustomed to your setup. It will take longer than an hour or a day. Of course you want a fairly high in-game sensitivity and a fairly low Dead Zone on the Fragfx. Once you get used to it you may love it as much as I do.

Want Fragfx Shark V2013 for PS3, PC and MAC - Wireless Discount?

mouse is too bulky, the OX buttons on the side is hard to press. hardly no deadzone calibration which means your mouse will get sticky in most of the games. they do have a sensitive tuning knob on it but what the heck, it does not help.

So far the best product I tried is eagle eye. but i am having other issues with that too. see my review for detail.

I'll review the "Resident Evil 5" game at the end of the review. I want to address this Gold Edition for new buyers.

Simply put, I think getting the original standard release is the better buy, especially if you're not going to play this game online. If you're only going to use the single-player options, the bonuses that you're getting from this Gold Edition are:

* Extra Costumes who cares?

* Online Versus Mode you're not going to use it

* Updated Mercenaries Mode it's not that big of an upgrade

* Two Bonus Episodes these are solid 1-hour add-ons, but not worth the extra money

Let's address the two bonus episodes. "Lost In Nightmares" and "Desperate Escape" were originally downloads that are now being included on this disc. They're fun extras, but they're not worth 20 dollars if you're playing offline and/or alone. Similar to the bonus content in "Resident Evil 4", these are fun diversions, but not must-play experiences.

If you're a multiplayer gamer, jump right into this Gold Edition. There is a ton of content for you to enjoy. But offline users would be better served to get the original version of "Resident Evil 5", which (as of this writing) is only 20 bucks. Everyone should play this game, but this Gold Edition was meant for co-op or versus play.

The Gold Edition is also compatible with the PlayStation Move. I haven't tested the Move with anything, but if it plays as well as I've heard from a few others, then that's really the only catch for single-player gamers. Personally, I'm willing to bet that most gamers prefer a controller in their hands.

GAME REVIEW

As for "Resident Evil 5" itself, there's really not a whole lot to say. It's basically "RE 4" in Africa with co-op elements. That's not to dismiss the hard work that went into this game, but it's a very similar experience. The over-the-shoulder gun combat hasn't changed, and the animations aren't that different either. Enemies will stumble, attack, and fall very much like they used to. You will upgrade your weapons, manage your inventory, find treasures to trade in for cash, solve simple puzzles, and try to survive a truly intense experience from start to finish.

Where "Resident Evil 5" takes a strong step forward is in its co-op gameplay. Franchise hero Chris Redfield is joined by Sheva, an African agent who tries to solve the mystery of how her homeland has been taken over by a virus. Whether you're playing alone or with a friend, the two characters will have to work together to solve puzzles and strategically take down enemy attackers. While the AI for 1-player could be a little better --Sheva always uses the handgun first, and doesn't condense inventory well enough --it's still a great experience no matter how you play it. The inventory management isn't done through a pause menu; you'll have to exchange ammo and health herbs in real-time, while you're fighting to survive. Sheva does a good job of keeping herself (and you) alive, only faltering in a few forgiveable instances.

The only areas where "RE 5" failed to surpass "RE 4" are in its plot and atmosphere. I'm not gonna call "Resident Evil 4" a brilliant story or anything, but it was remarkably well-told, and you were mostly aware of where you were trying to go. In "RE 5", Chris & Sheva pretty much have the same goal from start to finish, making any detours in the plot feel like excuses for more action. As for the African setting in "RE 5", not only is it less interesting, but about halfway through the game, it didn't even feel like I was in Africa anymore. Crypts, laboratories, and fortresses don't exactly look African. In "RE 4", the Spanish flavor was constant, from the small villages to the religious cult architecture.

"Resident Evil 5" establishes its own identity through the African backdrop and through constant action. If you're looking for the chilling scares and horror of "RE 4", there's not a lot here. Quite frankly, "RE 4" was a terrifying experience with a great blend of action & horror. "RE 5" skips the horror factor, and goes for balls-to-the-wall action. But make no mistakes These two games are very different in style & tone, and they deserve to remembered for their own merits. To compare this game to its predecessors is nitpicking. Fans of action gaming must play "Resident Evil 5", pure and simple.

**As a special side note please be aware that ONLY the PlayStation 3 version includes all the content on 1 disc, the 360 version of Gold Edition comes with a download voucher, which requires High speed internet access and a Xbox Live account to download the extra content without those you can not access the extra content on Xbox 360**

This game is essentially a HD version of RE4 with a co-op (2 player) online or AI (computer controlled) partner. This game is best with another player controlling Sheva but its perfectly fine as a single player game too. This Gold Edition re-release includes the following:

Lost in Nightmares bonus mission

Desperate Escape bonus mission

Mercenaries Reunion battle game

Barry Burton, Rebecca Chambers and Excella Gionne as playable characters in Mercenaries Reunion mode.

4 new costumes (2 for Sheva and 2 for Chris)

Extra in game figures to collect

Online player vs player Versus mode.

Overall this is a very good deal for those that passed on the original release.

While I believe that this game is inferior in mood and setting to RE4, I felt a need to give this a 5 star rating for adding co-op in RE5 as well as PS3 Move support for this Gold edition.

Because it wasn't touched on in any of the reviews that I read before purchase, I want to point out that you can configure the Move controls to function exactly the same as the Wii version setup for RE4. This provides for a much more approachable but no less intense experience that I particularly appreciated. RE4 was the only shooter-type game that I could ever get my wife into and that was mostly because of the intuitive control scheme with the Wiimote and nunchuck. As such, this gold edition was a perfect purchase for my wife and I.

If you want in-depth opinions on the campaign, I think several other reviews touch on that better than I could hope to. I just wanted to applaude the efficiency and care given to implementing move controls for this title.

If you are familiar with the Resident Evil series you will no doubt have played most of the series, especially the main series, if however you have never played any of the series or any of the series except Resident Evil 4 then you will be blown away by this game which will be one of the big releases of 2009. However if you have played Resident Evil 4 you may be somewhat disappointed that this is not an improvement on that game or is no where near as good.

Yes the graphics are stunning, the sound is crystal clear (especially when played through a 5.1 amp) and the cut scenes are great. But when compared to Resident Evil 4 you feel something is missing that would make this a truly great game, maybe they set the bar too high with Resident Evil 4 which was a breath of fresh air when it was released in 2005.

The game itself is enjoyable as you control the returning Chris Redfield who has bulked up since we last saw him and he is now joined by a new partner Sheva who will accompany you throughout the game, so you will have to make sure you keep her alive as well. She will also pester you for ammo so keep her topped up but keep the good stuff for yourself and use her to carry other items like first aid spray and bullets.

The game uses the same over the shoulder view that was used in Resident Evil 4, and you will as always have a good variety of weapons that you can find and buy throughout the game. The game is set in Africa so the locations are stunning, the enemies are the same type that were in Resident Evil 4 as in that they are no longer zombies and can run at you and attack more freely than the zombies ever could. There are different bosses scattered throughout the game but you shouldn't have to much trouble dispatching them. As in Resident Evil 4 when you complete the game you get the mercenaries game which is good and you can also play as Sheva in the main game, but she doesn't affect anything so you still get the same cut scenes.

The days of Resident Evil being a survival horror are gone and it really is more action adventure. Its a decent game in its own right but falls short of greatness when compared to Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 5 is the latest instalment of the Resident Evil series, and like it's predecessors, has you running around fighting bloodthirsty zombies who want to eat your brains, and any other juicy organs they can get their rotting teeth on. Like it's predecessor, "5" continues the shift from survival horror to action horror, in which you no longer have the turning speed of a drunk hippopotamus and are no longer constrained by cameras glued to odd portions of a room by duck tape. And where Resident Evil 4 took place in Europe, "5" takes place in the hot plains of Africa. It's a definite change of pace, and to some degree the game really isn't all that scary, seeing as most of it takes place in brightly lit areas in the daytime, which sucks out a lot of the fear factor. Add in the fact that you now have a partner with you at all times, along with enough guns and firearms to wipe out a small third world country, and it's not surprising to hear that people say RE5 has strayed too far from it's roots and has RUINED THE FRANCHISE FOREVER.

However, I don't think that's entirely true. Although the game is no longer a survival horror, it exchanges outright scares for tremendous tension. It's not uncommon to be running around, surrounded by a dozen zombies, many of whom are carrying axes, machetes, and other sharp instruments of death. Coupled with the fact that you take damage pretty quickly, and that you're frequently fairly low on ammo, makes for tremendous tension. There were many times when I was literally starting to sweat, and my heart was pounding while I desperately tried to hold off some particularly powerful monsters while waiting for an elevator to arrive. Having a partner also reduces the horror element, but again, this ties into the tension factor, as you have to keep her alive, as if either of you die, it's game over.

Personally, I think there's a lot to enjoy here. The run and gun gameplay (though this is kinda incorrect, in that you can't move while shooting) works well, and the gunplay is lots of fun, especially when using some of the more powerful weapons, such as rocket launchers, gatling guns, and grenade launchers that shoot off nitrogen rounds, which freeze enemies, allowing you to blast them into tiny, frozen chunks. There's a huge variety of monsters out to eat your brains, ranging from your standard zombies and dogs, evil chainsaw lunatics wearing burlap sacks over their heads, to all sort of giant nasties. There's also a lot of variety in the locations you'll visit, from abandoned shanty towns, to marshlands, to underground laboratories. Coupled with the amazing graphics, and you've got a lot to love here.

Special mention must go to your partner, newcomer Sheva. While most AI sidekicks have the IQ of a head of lettuce, Sheva is amazingly enough, actually pretty capable of taking care of both herself and you, and more once She'll come to your aid if you're dying. I also felt confident having her run around and gun down enemies on her own without having to worry about babysitting her, a feat virtually unheard of in video games. However, she's not entirely perfect, because she seems to have an almost religious devotion to her pistol. Equip her with a shotgun, machine gun, grenade launcher, and a pistol, and she'll use the pistol at every opportunity, even when facing a gigantic, multi-story monster that is clearly being unharmed from tiny pistol bullets. If Satan himself emerged from the bowls of Hell to destroy the planet, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sheva whip out her pistol and try to kill him with it, instead of doing the sensible thing and launching a tactical nuclear strike.

With regards to length, the single player campaign is just about right, and while shorter then previous entries, the game never feels too short. And to add icing on the cake, you can also go through the entire game with a buddy in co-op mode, and I highly recommend doing this, as it makes the game much more fun and enjoyable. Once you're done with the single player campaign, the game has a lot of replay value, with different costumes to unlock, the ability to get infinite ammo for all your weapons, the ability to play the game in black and white, and the return of the Mercenaries mini-game. All in all, there's a lot to keep you occupied, and coupled with the already fun campaign, this makes Resident Evil 5 a lot of fun to play many times over.

This version of the game, dubbed gold edition, features some new additional content that wasn't present in the original release of the game. You get two mini-games, four new costumes for Chris and Sheva, a Versus mode, and new characters for the Mercenaries mini game.

The biggest addition to this edition are the two new mini-adventures, "Lost in Nightmares" and "Desperate Escape". "Lost" takes place before the events of the main game, and feature Chris and Jill Valentine sneaking around a creepy mansion while avoiding large, powerful creatures who want to kill them. It's a throwback to the classic RE survival Horror structure, as the atmosphere is dark and creepy, and a heavier reliance on puzzle solving, rather then outright combat. "Desperate Escape" takes place near the end of the main game, following two characters (I won't say who, to avoid spoiling it for those who haven't played the main game yet), as they struggle to escape from a heavily infested compound with their lives. It won't be easy, considering that they're outnumbered almost a hundred to one. Both adventures, while short (you can complete each one in under an hour or so), are still a lot of fun and definitely worth playing through, especially "Escape", as enemies swell up and explode with such frequency that it becomes downright hilarious, especially enemies who's giant backpacks swell up as well, which, while impossible, is pretty damn funny.

The other big additions to the gold edition are the versus and Mercenaries reunion mini-games. I haven't played Versus mode, so I won't comment on that, other then to say that it allows you to go head to head with other players online to try and kill each other. Mercenaries Reunion is essentially the same as the original, complete with the same stages, only with new characters, including classic RE faces such as Rebecca and Barry (I LOVE you Barry!). While I normally despise Mercenaries mode, here you can select any character from the start, which means you get access to some very heavy fire power, rather then a dinky pistol and average shotgun. As a result, I actually had fun, something that I thought was impossible with the Mercenaries mode, so this addition gets a thumbs up from me.

The last additions are four new costumes. Heavy Metal and Warrior for Chris, both of which scream, "Mad Max Cosplay", and Fairy Tale and Business attire for Sheva. You also get some new figurines to unlock and admire. All in all, the new additions are a lot of fun and are definitely worth looking into.

In the end, is Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition worth it? If you haven't played the game yet, then I would recommend getting this version, as you'll be getting a lot of goodies that you wouldn't otherwise receive. For those who already have the main game, you can buy and download the new content from the official playstation store online, which means that you won't have to go out and buy a new disk to see all the new stuff. So all in all, if you're a fan of the series, even if the focus on Action horror has RUINED IT FOREVER, Resident Evil 5 is definitely worth a look.

Nice looking item but it is fairly flimsy. Once together you can rock it back an forth about a half inch at the top of the tower. It will hold your headset and looks pretty cool but it could be built a lot better. Just OK for the 20 bucks.

Simple construction and assembly, does its job of holding the headphone. Quite expensive for 1 triangular plastic and 2 U shape metal ring.

Just because it's turtle beach, doesn't mean quality. The black portion is hollow plastic. When pushing the metal rods into the base, I thought I broke it from the loud cracking sound. It doesn't even sit flush on the desk, one side of the metal bar is raised off the desk. Does it work? Yes! That's why it gets 1 star. It holds my headset. The quality is just down right terrible.

Perfect stand for the Logitech Headphones. Glad I purchased them as it is better to have the headphones on this than just lying around anywhere. They also add a little pizzazz to the room. Thank you.

I use this stand for my TB X400 headset and couldn't ask for more. The stand's build is solid ands stable. I have not had my headset drop or slip off the unit. I also tested it using a pair of Sony MDR-V6 headset with the same great results.

All in all, for $20, you get a high quality product that you won't regret buying.

I'm disappointed in this product in three ways. First, the charging connection between the base and the devices is through the mini USB connection, not through the external contacts on the controllers. Second, the holes are not all the same size, two are larger for the motion controller and two are smaller for the navigation controller. I was looking for a base that I could put all four motion controllers into. Third, and probably the biggest disappointment is that this base has no direct power supply, just a double ended A USB connection, presumably to plug into the front of the PS3. This, of course, is impractical as the camera is already plugged into one port. An alternative is to buy a USB wall cube to power the base, but once that cost is added in this is no longer a good investment.

I purchased a 40gb ps3 that came with 2 sixaxis controllers and 2 usb cables(cheap ones). These cables worked fine for the six-axis but they DID NOT WORK for charging the dualshock3 controllers. I tried all the ports on my computer, ps3, usb wall charger, and the mini b wall charger.

I also tried resetting the controller, resetting the ps3. I finally resorted to opening the controllers up, and swapping the charged battery from a six-axis to the dualshock and putting the depleted battery back in the six-axis to charge it.

I bought 2 controllers for $30 each last year and took them back thinking they were defective, a few months later I purchased 2 controllers for $43 each. Then I heard of someone having the same problem and they told me to buy the energizer cable or a sony brand cable. I found one of these used for $7 and it completely eliminated my charging issues.

If I had bought this cable to start out with, I would have $19 more in my pocket right now (including the price of the cable). Don't listen to anyone whining about the price of this cable. It's worth a few extra dollars to avoid the hassle I went through.

I love how long this thing is. I usually have my controllers plugged into a charging dock, but every once in a while i forget and they die on me. Luckily, this thing is there to save the day. It's long enough that I dont have to sit directly in front of the tv to play and charge simultaneously.

I purchased this item a few months ago because my old charging cable had broken and a longer cable while I was playing seemed like a godsend. Just a month in my PS3 started giving me this weird error every now and again saying that the USB ports had reached their max power output and that I would have to remove something, when it was the only thing plugged in. Now if the cable is in that error is constantly up, even if there is no controller attached to it. This error causes the controllers to lose sync, whether plugged into the cable or not, and is very detrimental to play. Purchasing a Sony charger has resolved my issues.
