i recently bought this controller due to the fact i always wanted a fan cooling controller and needed a second. I had read the reviews and yes, it does NOT have a PS button which is a serious issue for some. For me, i just keep my bluray remote and use it that way. the fan is great, 2 settings(low or high). it is also corded... with a very short cord. if you are planning on getting this, i recommend getting a usb extender (male to male) as i did, unless you play games four feet from your tv. other than that it is a great controller, the trigger are a plus for me as they are more of a "buttom" and not a trigger. all in all a good buy.

I will start this review by saying that I did indeed play the first Darksiders, but will not make this a comparison between the 2 in any way.

Story: The story for the game is more of a backdrop for the great level design and combat to playout in a meaningful way than it is a driving force for the game. Essentially, Death has to clear the name of his brother War (from DS1) and sets off to do so but before long is wrapped up in a larger story involving the Makers. Suffice it to say the story is there but nothing too great, though Death has some funny quips (like telling a crow to be quiet..) as he has a sarcastic tone throughout the game, and the game does allow you some dialogue choices as you interact with NPCs. These NPCs serve as trainers for your new combos, weapon and item dealers, and obviously they provide you your quests and sidequests that propel the game forward.

Graphics: The graphics in this game have a wide range. From beautiful to meh depending on your location. You will notice bland textures, and muddied walls in certain areas but will also see great dungeons and large bosses that push the consoles, but never quite to the edge. The game in motion is spectatcular though. Death has great animations, and every combo you unlock looks a little different as Death has realistic movements that keep you glued to your screen amidst the fighting chaos. I have heard of some slowdown in the game but truthfully have noticed hardly any, so don't let that dissuade you from picking up this gem.

Gameplay: OKAY, this is where Darksiders brings the metaphorical hammer down. Talk about infusing so many elements together in one game! Darksiders "borrows" ideas from many different games, including: Zelda (the dungeons, horse exploration, Z targeting), God of War (frantic combat based on combos and timing), Prince of Persia (smooth platforming that becomes second nature after a few hours), Diablo (tons of loot to collect and equip) and even a little Assasin's Creed (verticality) and Shadow of the Collossus (larger than life bosses). This game is like the ultimate dutch oven of video game ideas blended in a way that never feels like it rips any one game off, but rather pays homage to the brilliant ideas that have come before it. Like "Z" targeting from Zelda where you can lock on to one enemy and easily flick the right stick to shift your focus from one enemy to the next. Or wall-running from PoP that gives Death a fleet of foot feel versus his bulkier brother. But the game makes its milk in the combat. Thrashing multiple enemies just plain feels right on as a bringer of the Apocalypse. The combo timing takes a little bit to get used to, but once you do you can pull off so many different moves (on ground and in air) that you will be stomping through hordes of enemies in no time. And the BOSSES! Wow, the developers really love huge bosses, and won't hesitate to throw back to back mini bosses at you where most games have one, a cutscene, and then right on to the main boss. The main bosses are a marvel, and will rival the colossi from SotC in size and scope. Defeating them feels very "Zelda" like as you utilize a new item you gained to defeat them. No spoilers here, so sorry no examples are being given of these great battles, you should expereince them for yourself. Death also has branching skill trees which start with a few core skills (a teleport slash, summoning minions to help you fight, etc.) and expands into a very customizeable spectrum that begs experimentation (you can re-spec Death at any time to try out new skills you may not have originally chosen). The combat is so satisfying you will find yourself just itching for the next fight to show off that new combo or weapon. Speaking of weapons...

Customization: I believe this belongs in its own category as adding a true loot-based rpg system to the franchise was a genious move. Death is a totally Bada$$ character, and a beast of that magnitude deserves some bada$$ equipment. Not 5 minutes will go by in this game without you finding a new piece of armor, weapon, secondary weapon, or amulet to deck out Death how you see fit depending on the character you'd like to play. Want a Death built with pure speed? Equip a pair of lightning fast gauntlets as your second weapon to throw more punches in a second than Pacquiao throws in an entire fight. Want to do brutal amounts of damage in one swing? Equip a giant axe or hammer to demolish your foes while sacrificing some of that speed. The level of customization is great, and adds to the gameplay. An example: I picked up an "Axe of Rending," which restores your health partially but only when you execute enemies with it, so I immediately found myslef considering the situation before using it: Is my health low? Better beat those enemies close to death then bust out the axe to get that health boost before moving on. What's better is that every piece of equipment looks different and immediately affects the look of Death. Even better still is that THQ instituted a great system that allows you to pick up equipment, or even equip it immediately right in the field. The intensity of the battles is great, so in the midst of a battle I can be fighting 5 enemies, one drops a new weapon (that can immediately be compared to what I have equipped on screen), I roll over to it, hold select to equip it in game, then BAM right back into the battle with my new scythes equipped without missing a beat. More games need this type of system.

The Negatives: I'm not going to sit here and say DS2 is a "perfect" game, it has some hiccups, but they are diminutive in nature. Sometimes when scaling a wall, in order to climb up, you have to be in the middle of the rail, if you are off a little to the right or left, Death will jump straight up instead of climbing, basically the game thinks there is nothing above him to grab, even though there is. You move right a centimeter and then it kicks in and recognizes the ledge. It will happen a few times to everyone that plays, but again it's minor. For it being an "open-world" game, there isn't a ton do in said open-world. You will ride around on your horse to get from one location to the other, but aside from a few "hidden" chests (they show up on the map) or a random scalable building, the open world mostly serves as your mechanism for travel and little else. Also, they did not do a great job of showing what Death can and can't climb, meaning he can scurry 15ft up a wall, but can't jump up onto a 5 foot ledge. Once you realize this it does not affect you in anyway, but it's funny to see him wall run and acrobatically swing from post to post, but can't jump up a 5 foot block. Again, all these issues are minor and in no way detract from the overall experience, which is an absolute blast.

Closing: By now you probably want the "should I buy it or not" answer, and I will say YES absolutely everyone should experience this game. If you like adventure, puzzle solving, great dungeons and finely tuned combat wrapped in a replayable package, this game is for you. It even tracks tons of statistics for you (best combo, most damage, a TON of things) that get posted to leaderboards so you can compare against your friends. You can even gift items to your friends! I will say, please avoid the IGN review of this game as the clear bias of it baffles me. As of now, they are the only reviewer to give this game less than an 80, and as an avid gamer and review reader will openly say they got it wrong. Read or watch any other review and you will see nothing but admiration for this title. It was a long time coming, but THQ finally has a game that fits the hardcore mold, and Darksiders 2 is the perfect game to pick up now and dive into before the fall / year end bonanza of games come out. Go get it now!

Let me begin by saying I've never written a review for a game regardless of how strong I feel abou it. I would of written one for Batman Arkham City, but enough fans and critics gave the game the credit it deserved--Reviews are to help potential buyers make a choice after all. With the lack of user reviews so far about this game, I felt I should include one. I've only been playing now for about 3 hours, and I will say without a doubt, it is the best game of 2012....If Batman hadn't come out last year, I would say for the last 2 years! Most reviews are saying if you liked the first one, give this one a try--This obviously being true, even if you couldn't get into the first one, or didn't play it, this game will change your mind about the franchise. Its is much more fluid and responsive than its predecessor.

The "look and feel" of the game is taken straight from The Legend Of Zelda....Dare, I even say improves on it, as the combat is taken from God of War (which is a lot more exciting than Link's combat styles). That combined with the fact that the visuals are as though were taken from Lord of the RIngs coupled with the amazing score....'EPIC' is all I can take out of this game. One of the finest action/adventures I've played....and I'm just beginning.....

FOR BETTER:

---------------

Darksiders 2 is an impressive follow up to THQ and Vigil's apocaplyptic journey. Even if you never played the original, don't have any reservations about picking up the sequel. Death is an extraordinary character: well-acted, well-animated, enigmatic and engaging.

In this installment we take on the guise of War's brother Death, one of the four horsemen, who has undertaken a quest to absolve his brother from the punishment of the Charred Council for destroying humanity. Realizing that his brother had been framed, Death vows to do whatever is necessary to restore the balance between angels and demons.

Like its predecessor, Darksiders 2 does an EXTRAORDINARY job of pulling concepts from other licenses and making them feel original within a common theme (the battle between Heaven and Hell at the End of Days). This time around the primary draw is Ubisoft's 2008 Prince of Persia. Death will perform wall runs, extended climbs and other free-running tactics that are visually identical to the unnamed Prince. Yet despite references to other genres and titles (Portal, Shadows of the Damned, Legend of Zelda, God of War, Devil May Cry, etc.) Darksiders 2 manages to move beyond the driving concepts to deliver a wholly unique experience. From background art, puzzle implementation and narrative framework Darksiders 2 manages to mold its own identity by successfully working RPG elements into a visually striking hack-and-slash world.

This time around Death can choose between his primary weapon (scythes) set to the [] button, and a secondary weapon (armblades, gauntlets, hammers, axes, glaives, and claws) which is set to the /\ button. Attack combinations can be purchased by trainers, and are easy to execute during battle. Although most sequences are little more than a mix of both buttons with pauses between inputs, the simple commands belie Death's flashy and intense moveset. There are an extraordinary number of different weapons to find, each with their own perks (damage types, stat bonuses, exp. increases etc.) that can radically change your playing style. In addition, these weapons are found based upon your character's current level and come in increasing rarity: white common, green uncommon, blue rare, purple unique, and gold legendary. The most interesting addition are "possessed weapons" which can be upgraded by "feeding" other items to them. These weapons can be enhanced a set number of times before reaching their maximum potential by taking on the attributes of the weapons and armor that are fed to them. With each new progression you have the option to choose a perk that will subsequently improve with further item leveling. In most cases a fully upgraded possessed weapon will be better than a similar level unique or rare one. In all cases combat is visceral, fast paced and exciting.

Armor is likewise found in differing rarities, although there are no legendary or possessed pieces of armor. Based upon the attributes you use with your playing style, your version of Death may greatly vary from your friend's. Both weapons and armor can also drastically improve the effectiveness of skills chosen from the Harbinger and Necromancer skill trees. Although the diversity is not as great as in a game like Dragon Age it is still enough to keep your character evolving throughout the duration of your playthrough. The best part is that the demon merchant Vulgrim can respec your character for a very low fee, so you can try any other skill combinations at your leisure.

FOR WORSE:

--------------

Despite all of my praises, Darksiders 2 is not without faults. It pains me to list them, because I TRULY LOVE the direction of the game. The real problem that keeps it from becoming a masterpiece is overambition and not enough time to see it through. Darksiders 2 makes multiple trade-offs from the original and unfortunately not always for the better.

Graphically the sequel takes a hit in texturing and even character modeling. Things are not quite as smooth as the first time around, and you will notice some "near-polygonal" edges on some of the characters. When swimming or in confined areas walls look bland and occasionally dip to PS2 quality. Fortunately this is not the norm, and most vistas are gorgeous and stunning. Despite some pixellation when viewing further draw distances, the artistic design and bold coloration of the sequel TRULY save the day.

When I first started playing Darksiders 2 I was blown away by the sweeping orchestral movement and striking vista of a foreboding icy fortress. In retrospect, I feel this cathartic moment at the game's onset might have set the bar a little "too" high for the rest of the game. After 35 hours, I can safely say that both the narrative and bosses take a back-seat to those in Darksiders 1. All too often the story is revealed via comic book style cutscenes, rather than full out CGI. There are also not very many moments that ramp up emotionally or deliver sweeping orchestral keynotes like the first game. Although there is an attempt to tie in to War's tale, Death's episodic journey also seems to be much more flash and less substance. He has relatively clear motivations for why he is going somewhere, but the enemies and challenges he faces are more often typical RPG fare than the "ultimate battles" faced by his brother. Prepare for a lot of fetch quests set between largely open areas (Unlimited quick travel saves the day!). There are also more dungeons, but less differentiation between areas in a similar zone. Dungeons are also MUCH smaller, and require less coordination or logic when choosing between various tools. In addition, because of the revamped combat system the enemies and bosses are more like those found in God of War/Devil May Cry than Legend of Zelda. These are no longer "puzzle bosses," but more hack-and-slash.

Yet most of these issues are a matter of creative opinion, if not the results of time constraints. The real commonplace issues are the small bugs and technical flaws you will find along the way. I had to hard restart my PS3 8 times while playing Darksiders 2. Several of these were due to complete freezes during combat or platforming, but even worse were the several "almost" game-breaking glitches. Thank God the developers had the intelligence to insert fail-safes when a save was reloaded from initial start-up.

1.)I had a NPC who was supposed to carry a heartstone for me get stuck on a door, and I could not get him to pick it up until I restarted the system. Thankfully it reset the heartstone to a point where I only had to complete a small portion of the dungeon, and the character did not get stuck again.

2.)I had the audio completely cut out when speaking to the Lord of Bone. I had to do a hard restart and erase my dungeon waypoints to get it to trigger properly.

3.)I completed several Forge Land dungeons later in the game and was not able to recover a special item required for an earlier quest.

4.)A contextual button that was supposed to appear and allow me to place a lantern on a statue would not trigger. This was the first time said puzzle was used. Thankfully, I understood the level design and realized that something was supposed to happen here. The button prompt allowing me to progress through the dungeon only appeared after shutting down and restarting the PS3.

5.)One of the primary bosses known as "the Wailing Host" froze mid-strike for about 20 seconds with its health bar half depleted. During this time Death was still able to circle around the battle arena and attack as normal (further reducing the boss's health bar). However, the boss became invincible after the temporary freeze and would not die when its health reached zero. This is because the battle is actually punctuated by several button prompt actions that were not triggered after the glitch. This was the only major glitch that inexplicably resolved itself without having to fully restart the PS3, BUT I had to restart the boss battle from a checkpoint three times before it was fixed.

NO GAME MANUAL:

----------------------

THQ also decided to cut down on cost by NOT including a physical game manual. They didn't even include an in-game manual like the one in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Instead, they give you a web address for finding the contents online. This wouldn't be a terrible problem, but many of the finer details regarding collectables, locating/setting quests, and the HUD are not directly explained. Be prepared to do a few internet searches before fully understanding the game.

TIL DEATH DO US PART (Summary):

------------------------------------

I wish Darksiders 2 had more CGI, better music, a more focused narrative and more/bigger boss battles. Yet when all is said and done it is still an EXCELLENT addition to the franchise. I feel that the pressure to release the game by mid-August after an initial delay hampered the artistic and technical design of the game. THQ's president even released a statement saying two things:

1.)The game had to release this summer because he felt it could not compete with games like Assassin's Creed 3 and Call of Duty. Obviously this drove the decision to cut out the more difficult to develop aspects like full CGI.

2.)If Darksiders 2 fails to perform up to sales expectations, he will reallocate all of Vigil's staff to other games, effectively ending the series before it really had a chance to take off.

So, Death's journey may not be a perfect one. It might not even be quite as good as his brother's before him. HOWEVER, it is still a journey worth taking in every sense. Breathtaking landscapes, multitudes of loot, New Game +, hundreds of collectables, memorable characters and stellar voice acting await.

If you have any interest whatsoever in the material or genres that Darksiders 2 represents do yourself a favor and purchase both Darksiders 1 and 2. Keep the series alive and give Vigil the chance to craft a truly epic game in Darksiders 3. I spent 35 hours trying to find out what happens next, and I feel Vigil deserves the chance to tell me.

THQ, Let's see this war through to the end!

(8.5/10)

I have liked this game a lot!

It's similar to Darksiders 1 in terms of the history, characters, dungeons and enemies. But, it differs a lot to Darksiders 1 in:

* This game is a lot more RPG, there are other characters that give you missions, you collect gear like boots, gauntlets, and weapons, and you choose which to use to boost your abilities (magic, strength, health, wrath, etc).

* It's far less linear than DarkSiders 1, with a lot of optional dungeons that you choose to do only if you want to complete a side-quest, there are also optional-bosses that give you rewards for beating them but are not essential to the game history.

* The bosses are a lot harder (Apocalyptic mode), very much like Silitha in the first game

* You can create your own weapons by getting something called a "Possessed Weapon" and feeding it with lower-level weapons, those "sacrifices" make the possessed weapon stronger. You can choose to certain degree which qualities of the sacrificed weapons are inherited by the possessed, thus tailoring the weapon to your needs.

If you liked the first game I recommend playing this one, and if you like RPG that would be one more reason.

In total you'll need some 30-40 hours to finish this game, and 50 to platinum (it's not a difficult platinum but it's time consuming). If you buy the Limited Edition it comes with the "Crucible Pass" which is needed for 2 of the trophies, if you don't have it you can buy it from PSN Store.

The game features a DLC called "Argul's Tomb" that adds 2 more dungeons to the game, the dungeons are not difficult and the DLC can be beaten in 1 hour. This DLC is visually appealing and the final boss is ... great :) and hard even when you are at level 25.

After having worked directly with the customer service folks at THQ and having posted asking for help on their forums, and now having waited more than two weeks, I feel I should share a comment with the Amazon review community.

First off, this game is amazing. The graphics, gameplay, sound, acting...all of it...It's just awesome.

Unfortunately, there is a bug that causes some players (others have reported the same issue) to not receive a mission critical item (the Soul Splitter) and prevent the game from progressing.

THQ's response has been to restart and try again. Since they have opted for a save system that does not allow you to go back a short time in your progress, you are left with no option other than to simply start over and ___hope___ you don't get the same error. No fix, no help...just cross your fingers.

Well, after 25+ hours invested and no way to know if the exact same thing would happen again, I am now going to have to just eat the $60 I spent on the game. It's not like you can get your money back.

The truth is, I don't really want my money back. I want a solution so that I can pick up the action from where I got stuck and keep playing.

Anyway, if you are willing to roll the dice, then go ahead and play this otherwise amazing game. If, however you are like me and think that a company should not profit from selling _known defective goods and refusing to fix them_ then stay away from this and all THQ games (I was looking at Saints Row next...not anymore).

To start off, this game lacks any kind of structure at all. Maybe I'm just spoiled with Call of Duty 4 or Medal of Honor but I figured since Activision did such a grreat job with COD4, I would give it a try. Now I'm 40 dollars more poor and I wasted 2 hours of my life. I didn't even finish the game it was that bad. All you do is follow around the same guy that says the same thing. The controls are way off. The AI in the game is horrific. The Japanese do the same thing over and over again. If you play it in surround sound, you'll hear the same explosion over and over again behind you that gets ridiculously annoying. The one saving grace I thought this game would have would be the graphics but even then they are mediocre. If I could give it zero stars or less, I would. The History Channel, Activision, and whomever else were involved with this game should be ashamed. What a joke. Be smart, avoid this dud at all costs!

this game downright sucks. the gameplay is extremely poor, the graphics look like something straight out the ps2 and the sound is very basic. most frustrating aspect of this game apart from what i have already mentioned is the truly cheesy way all the soldier's speak to one another. very unrealistic and tough to believe. if you are looking for a great 1st person shooter i would highly reccommend you avoid this and go for titles like COD4,MEDAL OF HONOR AIRBORNE,COD3 AND TIMESHIFT (in that order). when i think about the potential the ps3 has as a great gaming console and then play games like battle for the pacific it just makes me wanna throw the machine out the window. thank god for games like COD4 wich is in a class of it's own. this game in my opinion would's even get 1 star but it is compulsory to give a star. activision should hang up their gloves and call it a day. what were you guys thinking when you got this game together ?

Don't bother. There are so many better ways to spend those 40 plus dollars. From the graphics, to the level design, to the sound effects, to almost everything you can imagine, this game is a serious regression to the pre-Medal of Honor series era. Definitely not a game you'd like to see on your PS3 (especially if you just happened to bought the console and are buying your first games.) Such a pitty to see the History Channel -which I love to watchpromoting this game.

It has been a year now since I've used this on my PS3 controller and it's still holding up. Remember, before you get all excited about just slappin it on your controller, make sure you clean it properly. I used Rubbing Alcohol on a paper towel (damp, not dripping) all around the plastic casing of the controller. After you do that, let any remaining residue that may be on there dry. Now you are free to put this excellent skin on your controller & have it stay on there for a long time.

For me, personally, I love open world games and when I found out about this game and how big the map was I hade to rent it. I've played it for about 3 hours now and I am simply amazed. My only complaint is that when you run into trees, thay are like running into a giant boulders; they don't budge. Other than that, the type of environments are incredible, especially with sunrises and sunsets. Canyons, mountains, forests, deserts, oceans, lakes, and more. If you see it, you can go to it! It took me about 30-40 minutes just to drive up the side of the moutain they have in the game (Rainier moutain). You will race on all types of terrains with some races letting you decide how you finish.

If you like structured racing games though, like dirt 2 or other racomg games like that you will be disapointed. Much paitence is requierd in this game. You have a great selection of vehicles, but only can modify the colors on them.

I love this game, but most gamers need more excitement. To sum it all up, this game is like flight simulator, but only with cars and not plains. I wish you could have a plain in this game though. You are able to telaport to different points on the map as the game progresses.

Fuel had a chance to be great. A post apocalyptic type setting, with a HUGE open game world you could drive anywhere, do any race you wanted. The problem was it was just not put together quite right. All the pieces just didn't feel like they fit perfectly. When I was out in the open world driving, not doing any particular race it was awesome. Freeing. Problem is you can only drive around pointlessly for so long before you're brain falls asleep. The races were somewhat challenging and I loved the game overall. Just seems like it could've been polished a bit more prior to releasing. If you catch it at a decent price it's definitely worth picking up but not at full price in my opinion.

Sorry but this game is nothing i mean nothing like i thought. Though the graphics do look very good, and the environments are impressive heres the problem. There are no psychics, the vehicles sound horrible, there is nearly no way to wreck, and the races are just plain boring. I figured with tornadoes chasing you and rain and snow etc the game would be pretty chaotic well i was wrong on all levels. Pick up both motorstorms if you want some real fun, action packed destructive racing. I will also say that even MX vs ATV is a lot better game than this. At least when you hit something your rider goes flying off the bike, or through the sky. The 15,000 sq miles of land can't even save this stinker of a game. What a disappointment.

Muscle cars, bikes, quad bikes, dune buggies, and monster trucks all racing? Sounds like just another racing title. But wait... It's got 5,000 square miles of open wilderness!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fuel is a new racing game with 5,000 square miles of open world to explore, more than 200 events, and around 75 vehicles to drive. Does the huge open world and sheer amount of content enough to recommend this game, or are there better racing titles out there?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Story: There is no real story to the game. It does have a setting, which is a futuristic wasteland devastated by global warming. But there is no real plot, or characters, or plot twists of any kind. I'm not counting the plot to the final score.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Graphics: The in-game graphics engine is great. Cars are very detailed, and considering the immense size of the open world, the environments look amazing. But there is a lot of pop-in, and occasionaly (especially at night) you can see the white dots that make up the worlds render. But other than that, the graphics are impressive, though there are some better looking racing games on the market.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Audio: The in-game audio is pretty impressive. The music (made up of rather generic guitar wanging) is decent, though it may be a bit annoying to some. Luckily there is no licensed music, except for the main theme song. Some people may prefer licensed music, though I don't. Whenever there is a racing game with licensed music, the developers always mess up and pick the worst music possible just look at Burnout Paradise. So I'm glad Codemasters stuck with instrumental music instead of licensed music.

The engine noise is also superb. I do have one gripe, though. Sometimes a muscle car going at 100 mph sounds more like a lawn-mower going at 100 mph. This noise used for engine noises doesn't sound as much like a car engine as I'd like. But the engine noises aren't the worst I've ever heard.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty much like your regular open world driving game, only there are some interesting new types of races never seen in the racing genre. But first, let me talk about the open world. The world is split into 19 camps, with career races and challenges in each one. You can drive around in any vehicle you like and explore the world, collecting liveries, vista points, and maverick vehicles. Liveries give you a new coat of paint for one of your vehicles, while vista points give you a breathtaking view of the world. Maverick vehicles are upgraded vehicles driving around the open world that you can collect. And there are also dopplar trucks. If you hunt down, for example, a livery dopplar truck, all of the liveries in that camp appear on your map, so you don't have to actually try to find them you just have to follow you map to collect them.

There are also the races and challenges. There is a big variety of races: Checkpoint, Wild Track, Knock Out, Raid, Endurance, Seek n' Destroy, and a few others. And here I come to another gripe about the game some of the races are boring. Now, there are the races where a tornado rages across the track, but some of the other races are simple races where you race along an asphalt road with absolutely no cool weather effects involved. These races aren't neccesarily boring, they just pale in comparison to the other races.

There is also a wierd setup on how you select races. There are events scattered across the landscape, but there is an option to pick an event from the menu. This brings about the question what's the point of driving five miles straight to get to an event if there is an option to choose it out of a menu? This is not neccesarily a flaw, just a wierd setup that I'm just throwing out there.

It may sound like I hate this game, but I don't. I've actually greatly enjoyed this game ever since purchase. It's flat-out addicting to collect the collectibles in the wilderness, and some of the races are fun. But there is another flaw the AI. Let's say you get in a race and the AI is really easy. You win the race by miles. Then you go to another race, and the AI owns the road, and they pass you with ease. It seems like the AI in this game is collecting all the bad types of bad racing AI from other arcade racers. There is plain dumb AI. Really smart AI. Rubberbanding AI. Again, I don't mean to make you think that I hate this game. It is one of the best racing games I own. But these flaws bring down the overall score of the game. Don't let these flaws turn you off about this game, however. I highly recommend this game to any fan of arcade racing.

There is an online racing componet to the game as well, but for some reason, no one is playing online. Not that this is a big problem, since the offline componet is hard not to recommend. But with no one online, it'll be hard to collect some of the achievements that involve partaking in X number of online races, or completing X online races in first. But still, if you have a few friends willing to play with you, then this isn't a big problem.

Overall, the gameplay may not be as good as other racing games on the market, but if you're looking for another racing title, come no further.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lasting Appeal: This is by far the best part of the game. There is simply so much to do in this game. This game will easily last you years, even after you beat the game. With 75 career races to partake in, 190 challenges to beat, and hundreds over collectibles, you will be hooked on this game. Although it lacks the polish of Burnout Paradise and the exciting races of Split/Second, it has something that other racing games have failed to accomplish a deep and engaging open world with a HUGE amount of content.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall: If you're looking for a racing title with a huge amount of content that'll last you years, a huge amount of collectibles, a selection of vehicles that rivals Motorstorm, and fine graphics and audio, come no further. Fuel is a game that any racing fan should look into.

The PSP launched in March 2005 with only a few games that really took advantage of its hardware or unique features. One of the few that did was Sony Online Entertainment's Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. It was a game that had potential, and that potential has been brought to another Sony launch, that of the PlayStation 3. How does SOE's Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom fare in the next-gen, non-handheld environment? To say it bluntly, fair. Very fair.

The Dark Kingdom suffix refers to the storyline's location of Dureth, a land victimized by dark magic, a demented king, and his legions of soldiers attacking defenseless, innocent civilians. Luckily for Dureth a group of gifted soldiers known as the Dragon Shade are there to save the day. From here one picks from three different Dragon Shade combatants: the brutish warrior, the swift scout, or the mystical mage. This begins a 20-hour adventure, as one of those characters sets out to discover what's driven the dark king to his madness.

Untold Legends feels a whole lot like every other 3D dungeon-crawling hack-and-slash. For the most part combat consists of mashing different combinations of the X and Square buttons to perform direct or sweeping attacks that absolutely devastate a pack of enemies. It's repetitive but that's to be expected from the genre and design. It's hard to grow tired of destroying a legion of skeleton swordsmen, to be entirely truthful. In fact, it's only when combat is taken away from the player that the game starts to become frustrating. Between hacking and slashing creatures the player will often perform jumping and platforming puzzles as well as some that will have one's head spinning for a moment before it is discovered what will allow one to move on. These puzzles go a long way towards making the game a little more than just a hack-and-slash, but at its core, that's all it really is anyway.

Leveling up is always enjoyable in RPGs (or should be) and Untold Legends is no different. Defeating enemies earns the player experience points that allow the character to level up. When leveled up, the character's stats can be increased (health, mana, melee damage, defense, etc.) and new magic attacks can be learned or strengthened. It is all too generous that Untold Legends allows the player to power up one of the nine magic skills at every level up; at level 45 one will have every single skill maxed out. Still, it's quite fun to beef up the characters. The game allows one to customize a lot; for example, it is possible to focus on strengthening melee damage and health points to make an indestructible warrior or emphasize ranged magic attacks and mana points for mages.

Throughout the game the player will also absorb essence from fallen enemies and destroyed objects (similar to Devil May Cry). Yellow essences act as currency and allow the player to purchase new item enhancements as well as red essences (heals the character) or blue essences (restores mana). Red and blue orbs are also found on fallen enemies. The only problem with the essence system is that the purpose of yellow orbs is defeated when one has to purchase pricey red and blue ones from save checkpoints if health or mana dips too low.

It hasn't yet been said but Untold Legends plays and looks a lot like Peter Molyneux's Xbox blockbuster Fable. One could take that two different ways. The first is as a compliment, because Untold Legends plays like one of the best Xbox games ever created, and this reviewer's personal favorite hack-and-slash game. The second is as a big insult, because a next-generation video game is being compared to a last-generation one. The combat system, essence-collecting, level-up system, and general gameplay mechanics are all remarkably similar.

Sadly, the visuals aren't much better. Untold Legends has pretty environments, lots of particle effects, and an interesting art design but the animation is just terrible. The Havok engine is put to use here but only sparingly. The camera is the bane of the entire game; it very often gets snagged on trees, boxes, or anything protruding from a wall. This results in it spinning wildly and the player taking extra time to figure out which direction to continue battling. At the very least, the music is pretty darn good and fits the environments and storyline quite well. It's just too bad that the sound effects don't compliment this for a great audio score, because they're very dull and powerless.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is a fun game. It is quite fun to play alone for 20 hours or online with three other friends (it's even free, and one can use the experience earned here in the single-player game). Hacking and slashing might be mindless but it doesn't feel too boring or old in Dark Kingdom. Still, a few problems like ho-hum effects and a bad camera keep it from being a truly great game. Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is worthy of purchase for those PlayStation 3 owners looking for something to keep them busy until bigger titles come out next year, but that's all.

This is an mediocre and disappointing title. I'm a big fan of co-op play with the Baulder's Gate and Champions of Norrath series...this game is in that hack-n-slash, half-RPG and half-adventure game mode, but it leaves alot to be desired for a "next-gen" game.

The game feels like it was originally designed for PS2 and at some point in production was deemed to be needed as a PS3 launch title. At the very least, its feels like it was rushed to launch either way. The graphics aren't bad, but in many parts on polished....some elements even look like they belong on PS2, which isn't good. But I could live with that if the gameplay was near the Baulder's or Champions level. It isn't. It is competent as a hack n' slash, but something is missing. Again, this isn't a bad game, just mediocre.

With co-op play, the game also has camera issues. Background elements like trees get in the way of seeing what is going on, and sometimes the camera doesn't follow well and you can get misdirected from the important acttion. It feels like the entire game was designed for a 1 player mode, where these issues largely cease to exist as the game is behind your character and lock to him/her. That is a problem as many who buy games like this do so to have a great multiplayer experience with friends.

I'm not upset that I bought this game, I just wished I had waited a while and bought it used. If you are a Baulder's/Champion fan or like hack n' slash RPGs, give this game a try after its used price drops below the $30 range. But don't get your hopes too high.

I have played untold legends games before, and they are all generally hack and slash, so this was to be expected. Still the graphics were pretty good and the storyline entertaining (played as the female). I also liked how the swords and armor looked different depending on what was equiped and which type. There were a few frustrating moments when the character got stuck on the side of a wall or boulder while fighting, but these were all momentary glitches. I bought this game used for a fraction of the price after reading all the poor reviews, but overall I found it a great game and a decent first try/quick release for the PS3.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is one of those games that doesn't have an inch of originality ANYWHERE. It's simply a game where you walk around slashing everything in sight. Of course, that alone is only a small bit of the problem. The main thing that makes this such a forgettable game is how the controls have a habit of not doing what you want them to do, which means, if a bunch of enemies are attacking you, good luck trying to defeat all of them. The controls aren't responsive and the whole game feels rushed. You might want to avoid this one.

Like many other PS3 launches, this game is below par. Firstly, the CGI storyline portion of the game was minimal. It's really dissapointing and less rewarding when you finish off levels and expect to be rewarded with a cool cut scene but faced with below par graphics. I really think the makers of this game (I believe it was Sony) rushed it to be among the few launch title of the PS3.

Speaking of graphics, the camera angle of the game was terrible. It's annoying when you fall of certain areas of the game because the camera was not aligned properly. You have three characters to choose from but really they are all similiar. Furthermore, the different characters do not have their own story line. The game was just about hacking and slashing endlessly. The ending totally blew it for me. It left me with that unsatisfied feeling. While some might like it, I absolutely hated it. I won't say much to spoil things.

Not all are bad though. I did enjoy some of the spells.

In conclusion, save your money and give this a miss (if you read many other reviews, they do say the same thing). It's time these game developers realize that they play an important role in making good fun and enjoyable games using the engine these new generation consoles provide. I'm tired of wasting money on games like this. If you want a better RPG game, go for the Marvel Ultimate Legends..seriously. The storyline was better. The game experience was better too.

These skins look cool, but after a week, one had to completely be removed for it didn't stick anymore.

The others are pealing around the edges, and they seem to "get in the way" of playing the game. Not very impressed at all with these. It's a great idea, but sure is not what I had in mind when ordering. They were very expensive temporary stickers.

Just got these. They look fine but there is no packaging at all. These were intended as a Christams gift. What you get is simply the sheet of decals in a Priority Mail envelope. While it may make environmental sense, it's makes it diffictult to wrap and give as a gift. Wish there would have been more info about this in the description as I now have to eat $7 on return shipping.

UPDATE: decided to keep them afterall, but after 3 days of VERY moderate use, the edges curled up making them useless. Wish I could give it no stars.....

This guitar linked up immediatly and works well with my ps3 playing rock band. Only issue i have had with it is the keys are raised a little high after having played with the stock rock band guitar this makes sliding for orange notes hard, and i have found you have to position your hand fully on the keys or they don't depress enough to get full contact, which again after playing the stock guitar and being able to just touch the lips of the keys makes for a degree of having to re-orient to the style. It definalaty is more well constructed than the stock guitar, and the strum bar is just like the GH guitars, steardy and and got the infamous click. over all i think its a good guitar but not ergonomicaly suited to me. I have decently large hands, so small handed people may have issues with it. but i havn't played with any i found all that comfy to hold for long periods any way. all in all a good product from The Ant Commandos.

This guitar made it through the first song without a problem. Unfortunately, that was it. Starting with the second song ever played on it, the strum bar began missing notes. Even hitting the strum bar with slightly more force failed to produce consistent results, and by the third and fourth songs it was missing about two out of every three notes. If that wasn't bad enough, the fret buttons are rather soft and wobbly. More than once I missed a note simply because holding the fret button down wasn't enough; holding them down STRAIGHT was necessary to hit the note. In all, I was quite disappointed with this purchase. I did get my money back, however.

Pros: Classic design, nice sticker sheet, works with Guitar Hero and Rock Band for both PS2 and PS3 (just not that well, in my experience)

Cons: Buttons and a strum bar that don't consistently work, feels smaller and more flimsy than the regular guitar controllers, takes 4 AA batteries (twice what most controllers do), small strum bar

Got this guitar recently from a big box store and all I can say is don't waste your time. It's too small for an adult, the fret buttons miss a lot of notes when playing rock band and the strum bar is extremely noisy. I'm returning this.

A lot of people are saying some pretty bad things about this guitar. I personally bought and used it, and I can say that this guitar has some really high quality material. The shell is tough and the buttons are very responsive. The only thing I thought was cheap, was the whammy bar. But then I opened it and the way it's designed is that there is a small spring that stretches when you push the bar down. When you let go, the spring pulls it back to place. This means it'll be a long time, or never that the whammy bar will break. And even if it does, it'll be easy to fix. Unlike the Frontman from Nyko, where the whammy bar broke because of a very very small piece of plastic that's forcing a VERY HARD SPRING OUT. The hard spring pushes pushes the bar back. Over a period of time, the small plastic won't be able to take the stress and break. This cannot be fixed. I tried and failed plenty of times. All in all, I'd have to say that The Ant Commandos did a fantasic job making this guitar. I recommend anyone on buying it. And if you're good with pc programming, you can get the right programs, and a ps2 to usb, then you can play Guitar Hero 3 on the pc.

Want Wireless Guitar Double Range - Black - Playstation 2/Playstation 3 Discount?

Works as well as the Kramer guitar controller that comes with Guitar Hero, but feels a bit more sturdy. Range is at least comparable. With PS2, it was simply plug and play. I have used it with World Tour, GH III, and GH Encore Rocks the 80s. Button location is different, but manageable. It has two sets of fret buttons, one being close to the body, which would probably be good for children. It comes with a belt clip you can use instead of the strap. It is Rock Band compatible, but I have not verified that.

Cons: The dongle is rather bulky, since it is wired with a PS2 connector and a USB connector. The guitar does not break down like the Kramer; that may not necessarily be a bad thing because the contacts between the neck and body cause problems with the Kramer.

(I would have given this game a 4.25 or 4.5 stars if Amazon allowed it)

First off, let me state the ratings of the IGN review of this game:

Presentation: 4.5

Graphics: 4.0

Sound: 5.0

Gameplay: 4.5

Lasting Appeal: 4.5

Overall: 4.5

Now my response:

Are you kidding me?! IGN gave GTAIV a 10 in graphics, when I get pop-ins and texture tears occasionally (but I still love GTAIV), and a 4.5 to HAZE?! The gameplay is no where near a 4.5, it is more of a 9.0. This review lowered the credibility of IGN after I played HAZE.

That being said, HAZE is fantastic! The graphics are stunning, and the gameplay has well balanced mechanics in shooting, physics, and speed.

Now let me state my ratings for HAZE(in IGN's categories):

Presentation: 7. The storyline could have used a little more creativity, but was enough to keep me satisfied and interested.

Graphics: 8.5. Stunning environments, smooth framerate, and very nice explosions.

Sound: 8.0 Have to agree a little with IGN on this one. The dialogue could have used a little more development. On the other note, sound effects, such as gunfire, explosions, etc..., sounded just right.

Gameplay: 9.0. This is where the game shines. Gameplay is fantastic! The idea behind Nectar fit perfectly with the gameplay. This game has excellent FPS mechanics, and every FPS fan will enjoy the gameplay.

Lasting Appeal: 9.0. After the single player, its on to multiplayer! Multiplayer is another aspect of this game that shines. The Online-Coop is 100 times better than the demo, and regular multiplayer is so much fun as well.

Overall: 8.5 (which is equivalent to 4.25 stars on Amazon)

If you played the demo, and the actual game, you will notice that there is a HUGE difference. The actual game is way better than the demo by a wide margin.

Final words: Don't judge this game based on online reviews such as IGN, Gamespot, Amazon reviews (including mine), etc.... Just go out and buy the game, and see for yourself. If you like it, keep it, and if you don't, sell it at Gamestop, GameCrazy, ebay, or even Amazon. Remember, a review is the opinion of one person.

A lot of people are panning the demo for it's lackluster presentation of the game, and I guess I have to agree with that. But I did find the demo intriguing enough to try the full game. Well, I gotta say that the real deal beats the demo's brains in, hands down! You really have to play past the first level or two to get a full understanding of how well this game plays and how much of a blast it is. Don't worry about the demo, forget the demo! Just go try this game, I would have given it a 4.5 if we were allowed to select half stars.

Haze has had a good bit of hype surrounding it, especially considering its a PS3 exclusive FPS that seemed to be loaded with potential. Playing as a futuristic soldier with the ability to supe themselves up to almost superhuman capability thanks to a drug called Nectar. While this little feature does manage to add a bit of spice to the overall gameplay aspects of Haze, as a whole the game doesn't offer up anything that hasn't been seen a million times before in a million other first person shooter's, or for that matter, do much of anything particularly well either. There are some moments of spectacular action that show off the kind of potential that Haze had to be a great game, but these moments are few and far between. Where Haze really falters is with the game's presentation: the storyline, dialogue, and voice acting are all deliriously bad, and the game's AI doesn't fare much better either. Four-player co-op and multiplayer are bland but decent enough, and the game looks good and offers a decent selection of weapons. However, the overall core of Haze is disappointingly shallow despite the game's interesting premise, and PS3 owning FPS fans are better off giving this a rental and holding out for Resistance 2.

Read Best Reviews of Haze Here

Now that all the hype has waned and we've seen how the "professional" reviewers totally blasted this title, the real gamers can get in there and actually tell people the real story. This game is what I'd refer to as a standard shooter. It's not revolutionary, but it's not anywhere near as bad as some people say. The only thing that bothers me about this game is the spoken dialogue. It is incredibly cheesey and corny. That aside, I'd say the game is just about on par with Halo 3 in terms of graphics and gameplay. I'm sure the fanboys will be lambasting me for saying that, but I think it's true. Also, the multiplayer is quite satisfying. It works very well and is very stable (compared to Turok's). Graphically, I think this game looks pretty sweet. The foliage in the jungle is dense and detailed. It's not as good as Crysis in that the leaves and grasses don't sway in the wind or bend as you pass by, but it still looks good. Much of the environment is destructible. The weapons look and feel good, and the sound effects are spot on. The campaign is pretty standard fare. The vehicles are pretty standard fare. Overall, it's a good game. It's not great, like COD4 or Gears, but it gets the job done. If you enjoy shooters, you will most likely enjoy Haze. If you're not sure, just rent it and you'll be convinced.

Want Haze Discount?

The way over-hyped game Haze is worth checking out. It is similar to Halo. If you enjoy Halo you will probably like Haze. The co-op option of the game is fun. My biggest gripe about this game is it gets quite repetitive very fast. The dialog and little in-game movies are stupid and get annoying within the first few minutes.

I was looking forward to this game and was disappointed. Graphics are good, but not as amazing or quick as I expected for a high-def PS3 only game. Here are the pros and cons...

PROS:

-Sound is pretty good.

-Control isn't bad once you get used to it.

-Graphics are pretty good, but not as great as expected.

CONS:

-Graphics are just ok. For what else is out right now, these graphics are a little plain and not very creative.

-Maps are boring, repetitive and plain.

-Game play has been done over and over again.

-Nectar is a cool touch, but not used to the extent or creativity that it could have been.

-The game gets very repetitive very fast.

-Teammates are idiot jocks that get annoying real quick. And they swear a lot.

-No sprint option. Really really stupid. It is 2008 and we can't run in a game. What the heck.

Over-all this FPS game is worth checking out. It is entertaining at parts but Haze does not use its full potential. If you are used to good games like Half-Life 2, Uncharted, Resistance or Gears of War you will probably be disappointed. Not a horrible game but don't expect to be blown away.
